Vault and movement speeds were my biggest issues with the gang after their rework. Now that that's fixed I feel better

Wait, will console ever get something that PC does not then?
Unless they get copyrights to something console exclusive, I don't see the reason for consoles to get something PC wouldn't.
Console players keep arguing to get legacy or other event cosmetics but they need to just accept that these, especially legacy, were time sensitive events when DBD was in its infancy. It started as a PC game.
These things came before console. That's why they're PC exclusive, other than Bill (which is Valve). Some of the console players want exclusives just for the sake of having exclusives, which is silly.
Do I think console should get more skins that PC has? Absolutely. I'm glad they got what they did with this patch. But no one is ever getting legacy again and everyone needs to bury that.

Which challenge? Because if it's something you can do before the killer quits then it has nothing to do with this challenge issue. The issue here is if the killer DC's, you don't get credit for escaping.
I remember specifically getting the Claudette escape one back in level 1 with the killer dc'ing before the match was over. Buuuuut I just had a match where they dc'd and didn't get credit for the 5 escapes (my final challenge of level 3). Weird.
But yeah it should be a thing.
-
Idk about specifically not including swf but I would like to see baseline Kindred tested. +1
-
I've seen fully bearded men cosplay (some really nice) as Jaina Proudmoore. I think it's feasible to cosplay as a masked Russian Bunny mom :p
Your friend has good taste
-
Huh I actually have completed challenges from killer dc'ing. I've also completed a 4k challenge by having someone dodge the offering screen. Maybe it's just inconsistent...
-
I'm glad it got patched and disappointed that some people knowingly exploited / went out of their way for basement hooks just for the sake of causing the bug.
I dont, however, fault the people that were legitimately ignorant or had challenges to do.
I myself only used it on survivors that seemed to think running to the basement was a sort of "safe zone" for them. Case-in-point: Gas Heaven. Downed an Adam inside the shop in the corner with the pallet. I HAD to take him to basement because the hook outside was sabo'd and he ran there twice. I slugged the first time but the second time, yep, basement. He got affected by the bug and still ended up mad in the chat. And he knew basement was there.
-
Best is still Nurse.
Most fun is Oni.
Spirit is inbetween.

I dunno.... that dark map they just released is VERY good for stealth....
It is and I hate it. But I don't have a doubt in my mind that they'll brighten it up / it's a bug. Yamaoka Estate also got darkened with the patch and it's just miserable to track.
-
Meg/Billy and Wraith/Dwight both work for me.
I'm still salty over no Halloween Meg, but getting a new focus Rift skin and lore would be great.
-
Make it within one color, maybe. The problem is SWF intermixed with randoms. How would you manage a red rank with a gray rank? If we get a red rank killer, the randoms will still get a gray rank in a red rank lobby.
If you made it within one color from the red, though, you'd prob get a purple killer/lobby. I realize red/gray is extreme, but I still get them all the time. And the one color thing also opens up Red/Purple/Green. This also makes purple ranks the most diverse and probably quickest queue lobbies.
Another issue would be lobby times, which are already horrid depending on role and time you're playing, but that's separate I guess.
-
At this point Trapper might as well get a maskless skin. Each new mask they add is revealing more and more of his face anyway. Look at the Rift one and combine it with, say, the salt miner body.
That's alot of man.

Kinda not related but I have played like 30-40 survivor matches since the update and didn't face a single Spirit, looks like just a thought of a nerf turns off players from playing a killer.
Pretty much this. The mere mention of a nerf for pretty much anything will drive away people from playing...anything. Even though Spirit and Nurse are still the strongest killers in the game, they're now F tier because they got nerfed. I rarely saw either this week.
Also, in Nurse's defense she's not as fun to play anymore. But Spirit's gameplay is unchanged except prayer beads.
-
The people saying "drop the pallet sooner" or "just bad timing / bad survivor" isn't really fair. Yes you can probably drop the pallet earlier if you were already running that loop and didn't try to just make it there from elsewhere. But that's not the point.
The point is the delay between survivor and killer is getting you hit when you should've been fine. The killer is actually closer to you than you think and that's huge in a game where each player needs to know exactly where the others are in precise time. This is especially noticeable when a killer swings through pallet and ends up on the opposite side and then teleports back to the side they're supposed to be on.
Killers get priority. If the hit happened on their screen, it will go through to the survivor even if you shouldn't have gotten hit. This is fine for killer but also very weird and sometimes wonky because they're no longer the host. All we can hope for are better and more consistent servers, otherwise we'll just have to deal with it.
But yes, I'm tired of getting hit through pallets...but windows are far worse. They're more noticeable than pallet hits and from my muscle memory I'm getting hit over windows and loops that I've made countless times back when it was P2P. I'm not getting away with those now.
-
I miss them as well, however these and the brown versions all bloated blood webs. They'd have to make 3 offerings per map and that just bogs down the list. I also miss the moon bouquets.
I want more offerings in general.
-
He's simply strong.
-
I just think Forever Freddy is a tad too strong on top of the gen pressure he has. Whenever I load into a Freddy game I immediately dread it because of the potential to have a 30m+ game thanks to all the slowdown he has.
Everything else is fine.
-
Wait until the killer leaves the hook before saving. Most killers play around BT now so if you save too quickly they'll assume you have it and just go after you.
As for tunneling, that just happens and you need to shrug it off. It won't happen every game.
And...please don't capitalize every single word in each sentence. That makes this rant really hard to physically read.

Oop, time to race to that challenge before they change it.
That was my motivation exactly

Thank you for sharing, got mine with a winter party starter just now. It's funny because I accidentally actually did get the save, but I wouldn't have even tried if I didn't know this.

I think the reward should be equal to the challenge. At least the DNA shard thing should be improved.
I just disagree. I like the current ratio and don't think it needs improving. The point of the grinding ones is to keep you playing but it's actually a good thing because it keeps you working towards something while also earning rift fragments from playing in general. It's just a time sink, nothing more.
You still have your dailies for quick and dirty BPs.

I wouldn't mind them as glorified dailies if the BP and Shards or whatever they are called were worth the investment.
I do agree but at the same time I don't think the challenges need to give more BP. As a whole they give plenty but having more is always nice.
-
Yeah I was thinking this, too. Unless they straight up change it to a different challenge (Or...remove the "Must be done in a single trial" stipulation), it'll be 2 unhooks.
Honestly remove the single trial requirement and you still need to earn the EGC unhook but it's not nearly as bad!
-
People really need to let others play how they want to. You're not gonna agree with every playstyle, but that doesn't mean you need to call for bans or anything like that, especially if it isn't even against the rules anyway.
As long as no exploits or hacks are involved, every playstyle is fairgame. If you don't like it, rush the gens and get into your next match.
-
I think the main problem, atleast on the survivor side, is that the unhooking challenges are the "gateway" challenges. They're the first ones we need to do and everyone will be going for their 25 BT farms or the EGC saves. This disrupts normal gameplay to the point you don't get normal matches as opposed to farming and sandbag fests.
If the EGC save challenge was swapped with, say, the blind (not fl save) challenge, I think it wouldn't be -as- bad as it is right now.
Killer side is far less frustrating for the player than survivor side, but still promotes unhealthy playstyles like basement camping (they're actually rewarded for camping; survivors who hit struggle in basement count as two hooks for the 15), obsession tunneling, etc.
And finally, most "challenges" are inflated daily rituals that you'd do in normal games anyway like repair 15 generators or sacrifice 13 survivors. These are obligatory grinds that are also boring. My favorite challenges are the ones that want you to use a specific perk and do specific things, but even those aren't perfect because not everyone has all the perks so they're going to need to level a character (another grind) to do them.
TLDR: specific challenges needed to be addressed and I hope in the future we get better and more creative challenges that don't promote unhealthy gameplay. A lot of people are justifiably upset right now.
-
I JUST GOT IT. Was playing with my swf partner all day today since 9am (it's 6:34pm now) and finally got it. Had to unhook in killer's face, get hooked and have my a random save me. Then my friend stood there and let killer hook him. I let the killer grab me so I could DS and bam, I got the second save.
Had to do all of that just to continue the survivor track.
-
It literally is a coin flip. Less 50/50 and more 75/25 on if she gets you or not, especially if you're injured.
-
I actually like these types of challenges the most out of them all. Anything over the EGC challenges, though. I'm so tired of trying for the unhook one.
-
@Angelicus23 said:
didn't challenges came yesterday?
Level 3, yes.
-
I've been working on it for hours, too. Almost had it several times but then it always gets stolen by another survivor right out from under me. Constantly all 3 survivors rushing hook in EGC...
It's such bad game design.
-
Good luck.
Also next level? Must unhook 3 during EGC. Three.
-
Honestly at this point I agree. At least 2. Most of these challenges are just inflated daily rituals anyway.
-
Wrong. DS doesn't reward failure and honestly neither does NOED. They both punish the other side's actions or inactions.
The thing is, DS punishes a killer for tunneling and then not slugging. NOED can be used regardless and it all depends on if the survivors didn't cleanse totems.
Survivors can't always cleanse all the totems. Sometimes you get a really good killer that honestly didn't even need NOED to begin with. So survivors struggle and work hard to get to endgame only for...yep. NOED.
That said I don't care about either of these perks. But the NOED equivalent is Adrenaline. Not DS. DS is fine, don't tunnel.
-
That's actually what makes them so bad. It encourages hook farming on top of being just such a GRIND. 25 saves, really? And that's the first challenge and then it leads directly into an EGC 2 save that must be done in one game.
It's not "challenging" to BT farm. It's annoying and takes time.
-
I feel like this is bait but he's not entirely wrong considering most SWF squads are extremely altruistic, like mine is. My team almost always gets all the gens done but then falls apart near end game because we start going for saves and trying to get everyone else.
A smart squad will cut their losses and let 1-2 die. But most squads really want their 4 escape, so use that against them.
-
Punish DC's and leave suicides alone. Forcing someone to play through a bad game or with potato teammates just isn't the way to do it. And they'll always find a way / run at killer to kill themselves regardless.
I'm not going to play a game with that rank 14 (not even exaggerating) Claudette self caring in the corner against a Stridor/BBQ Spirit. Two times too.
-
Hag is particularly creepy / scary for me because of how she resembles the wendigos from Until Dawn. Doesn't help that she's also actually a cannibal anyway.

You're probably one of the perks whom wills be contributing to the problem. The object is to evade the killer not waste time until the generators are done.
That's precisely what I was talking about in my thread alt the game being biased against killers. Say what you want allbout Friday the 13th but they actually made an effort to fix things like this. It took too many videos of counselors looping, and T-bagging the Jason before they made the hit box extremely sensitive.
Idk man if I run those loops well I sure am evading the killer. Not getting hit. Not getting caught. Sounds like evading to me.

I believe 11am EST but don't quote me on that.

Sounds like bait. Anyhoo how is looping considered "unsportsmanlike"? Legitimately curious. Is it because it's an "exploit"? The devs are starting to design maps with looping in mind, y'know...

Since a few days I get DCed very often! No matter what I play survivor or killer!
When I play killer I see people are getting DCed too out of nowwhere because one could not press Esc->Exit while running around in front of me.
I lost so many pips, nice offerings, addons and items and most importantly MY TIME on this!
In my opinion it was a lot stolen from be because of this instability and I think a compensation would be right for the problems you created!
Aye I get this too but it seems to be an issue with my internet (although not all the time). The slightest ping spike will DC me from the game and it started when they enabled dedicated servers. Check your ping and see if it spikes. If it isn't that, then I've also heard of the servers occasionally hiccuping and dropping people regardless.
In regards to my issue I'm actually scared once they implement DC punishments because it happens every so often and randomly. Gonna be a great feeling to lose all my bp, a pip, item, and then get timed out for awhile.

See, I want more of those. I enjoy doing them more than blinding the killer twice in a game.
I mean they could always make something like "Blind killer 2 times" but doesn't need to be in a single game. I want more things to go for rather than "Oh just repair 15 generators" like you would have done anyway.
I particularly like challenges that require certain perks because it has you change your build up for it.
I just dislike the generic "ritual" and grind challenges like 15 gens / sacrifices. Or the "earn Blood points" one.
-
Sure but I could do with less of the "X 15 times" challenges. Those are glorified daily rituals than "challenges".
-
The real problem is probably gate distance. Otherwise Trapper made the right play and trapped both gates before killing the other survivor. Most you can do in that situation is try to get the gate open or go search for a key.
The killer earned that one.
-
Improving dedicated servers.
-
Ever since Lithe got buffed it's been my favorite. Then Dead Hard but DH is too unreliable against the dedicated server meta right now.
