Well, my hopes will not go away. I will guarantee you, together with my dear friend @GeneralV massive feedback then ;-).

So time to bring it on, shall we? ;-)

If you have contact to him, send him my best regards! I hope he is well.

Sorry to hear you aren't enjoying the event so far. Is there something in particular that people are doing that is ruining it for you?

I do think that the silent for 15 sec is a bit much like the exposed last year.

But I'm not gonna complain. It's just an event. Im just vibing and enjoying my new Piggy skin with good old Stbfl + bloodwarden only.

  • This event is pretty fun.

A big BOOP especially for the amazing Pig cosmetic.

Pig never had this much bling bling on her fingers.

  • Happy anniversary let's make the new year one to remember.

  • Piggy. I hope to break my record of 530ish cakes from last year.

    Clown main here 🤡:

Clown is a chase killer just like a few of them are. He lacks map control, mobility and pressure. To loop a clown, you need to pre-run, Meaning that as soon as you hear his terror radius book it and find a strong jungle gym. Don't be afraid to pre-drop pallet cuz we hate those. If a Clown throws a yellow bottle (Which gives you 10% haste as well as The Clown) and miss-place it, try to inhale it to get more distance. If you see him reload his bottles (Takes 3 seconds for him to do so) make distance!

Other that, Clown is not OP as he is somewhere in the low tier side of things, in my opinion. As long as everyone is doing seperate gens and not goofing off, it shouldn't be any trouble to escape him. Keep in mind that some Clown mains out there will tunnel to get pressure going in the early game so make sure you equpit some anti-tunneling perks.

    Other notes:

-HIs Purple (or pink) Gas last a total of 10 seconds on the ground and gives you a whooping 15% hinder that last for 2.5 seconds.

-While intoxicated, you WILL always medium vault.

If you have any futher question, plz let me know! <3

Keep it up friend. Your doing gods work.

    Basically the counterplay against him:

    • Waste all the pallets on the map (in newer maps 90% of the pallets are trash and can only be used to stun the killer, so predropping them doesn't even make sense)
    • Play in SWF and push gens coordinatedly

Seems like a pretty balanced killer for soloQ!

Could this then not be said about almost any killer in DBD?

  • First and foremost: try what you like. You dont have to use what any of us recommends to you. If this build is fun to you and you find success in it. Use it to your hearts content.

This is something that is easily forgotten in the current state of the game: the joy of experimentation with perks and builds. Dont be afraid to lose. Its part of a pvp game to lose sometimes. Find what suits YOU the best and run with it.

All things considered, this sounds like a fun build. All perks have pretty nice synergy. Id use it.

I don't understand why he hinders you when he's not even slow. Like his power predominently slows you down compared to any killer by far. And it's such a big radius and last quite long. He basically blocks every vault and opening. I don't know anyone that can afectively loop and outrun the clown. He seems pretty op for no reason. Anyone know how to actually counter him?

Thats the point of his power. Clown is a chasing machine. Not only can he slow the survivor down, he can also speed himself up.

How does a survivor team counter him:

    • pre drop safe pallets. You can always fast vault against a clown
    • do gens, he has no map mobility whatsoever and needs two hits to down someone. His time efficiency sucks.

Clown is a one trick pony and if you understand how to beat him in that regard, he falls on his big butt. B- to C tier killer with a lot of skill expression but little reward for reaching the skill ceiling.

How dare Freddy bring two perks to get a bit of info.

Welp, guess corrupt + pain res it is then.

  • This is the most funny stuff I've read for a while. Thanks for that.

Its hilarious seeing a survivors aura just for them to spam emotes and tbag. They can see that they are being watched so...

All this debate about this perk just leads to one conclusion. One side feeling entitled to decide what type of perk the other side is allowed to bring, bringing up ridiculously arguments on why the perk is op when it's clearly not. This goes for both sides. Distortion would be an example for killer players malding over something that is not very strong.

So it'll allow Survivors to have another way out but comes at the cost of time and if complete then they will be in Deep Wounds at the end of the death timer not delaying it entirely… sorry for the misinformation

All good. That sounds way better.

  • @Peanits said:

Some of us have, and some still do! I myself used to do exactly what you're asking to see (killer w/ no slowdown).

I'll be frank, it's not the eye opening experience that you're hoping for, it's just a scapegoat. There are people on the team who play at that high level regularly, and there are people on the team who can't play at that level - just like everyone playing the game, we all have different skill levels. We make sure to include those higher skill devs in playtests internally in addition to our team wide playtests to help test content at different skill levels, and we work with an external group of consultants who are highly experienced to help bridge that gap as well.

Having streamed myself in the past, I can confidently say that not only will it likely not change your mind, but it is exhausting. No matter how well we could play on stream, someone would always have an excuse for why that match didn't count (e.g. those survivors weren't good enough, you got lucky with teammates, etc.). Meanwhile I'd end up with some people hate-watching, waiting for one bad match to pounce on and use it ammo. The goal posts were always shifting.

To be perfectly honest, it's not a point worth proving. If someone wants so badly to believe that everything they dislike can be blamed on a single developer's skill level, they likely aren't going to be convinced if they see someone play well anyway. To do so, there would already have to be a huge misunderstanding to think that content is balanced around that one developer's skill level with absolutely zero oversight. That is absolutely not the case.

If there's something that you dislike, by all means let us know, we're here to take feedback. Let us know what you don't like (or do like) and why. Constructive criticism is invaluable. But if you're just hoping to hate-watch someone and hope they fail (and I genuinely hope this isn't the case for you), there is no productive discussion that can come of that. It's just trying to pin blame.

Well put. Thats propably why its the best for the people in charge not to show any gameplay of themselves. People will use anything to find confirmation to their believes.

Cant blame them for having them though. I would have to lie to say that all decisions made are completely understandable and comprehensible.

Utility Blades: Applies Hemorrhage until the RBT is removed

New Effect: Survivors can't heal fully while they have an RBT (90% at most and cannot be regressed)

Rusty attachments: Applies Mangled until RBT is removed

New Effect: can be sabotaged either delaying the death timer or making it a down not a death and Survivors can't heal fully ( 50% at most and cannot be regressed)

Slow Release Toxin: Applies Exhausted until the RBT is removed

New effect: Applies Obliviousness and shrinks FOV by 1 degree every 10 seconds while the RBT is on and for 15 seconds after the RBT removal minus the shrinking effect

There's more addons that she has but I can't think of new effects

    Pig seal of approval 🐽

Edit: the rusty attachements I don't really get. Does the trap take longer to trigger for a healing debuff? That would be a pretty bad addon.

  • Sadako:

Telephone: the onryos lullaby is silent.

Rickety pinwheel: survivors can hear the onryos lullaby map wide outside of a 16m radius around the onryo while she is demanifested.

Sea soaked cloth: the onryos lullaby plays near survivors every 20 seconds despite the onryo not being near them when demanifested.

(I collected tons of ideas for her in the two ptbs she had.)

I don't think Surge is that good for Pig, because it doesn't work on ambush...

    It's valid for Trapper.

It is. Because you play m1 killer with Pig and combine with Stbfl. Funnily enough, the buff to her ambush is only coming into effect, when the survivor allows it, meaning they don't pre drop the pallet. If they just leave when you crouch, you need two specific addons to be able to get a hit. Without them, you will not reach them in a straight line.

Therefore, you mainly still play m1 killer, making surge the best perk for her. Don't get me wrong, you do get downs with the ambush. Buts it's not like Demo or Wesker, where you get the majority of downs with your power. You get a majority of downs with m1.

On top of that, surge has incredible synergy with Stbfl, which I still consider her best perk despite the nerf.

Last but not least, Pig is a killer with no map mobility. Therefore she has no time to waste ever. Surge is a passive perk that will slow down gens for you while you play. You don't need to kick gens at all. This also leads to her traps. A Gen gets damaged and starts to regress. Because of the trap, the survivor, that gets unhooked, will rarely go back to stop the regression but start to search the boxes immediately. This leady to the Gen regressing a lot more than against other killers.

You can if course have your own opinion on the topic, but I do think that surge is the best regression perk on her because pain res will only apply 4 times the match on one Gen only and for a killer that has very long chase times, this is just not good enough.

  • @Souplet said:

Remmember when devs wanted less slowdown stack ?

Guess what, now you have to stack even more to get value from it. On almost every killers i now run

Corrupt + pain res + grim embrace + surge

And of course, nurse and blight stay untouched and dont care about the nerf

Maybe someday, instead of making the life of mid tier killers miserable by nerfing slowdowns, they will actually nerf nurse and blight so we can have decent perks

    You don't need this much.

  • @Rudjohns said:

    Knock Out

    Always slug

You can combine with Infectious Fright to find nearby survivors faster, and could be combined with Monitor and Abuse

Or you could use Ultimate Weapon on the closest locker, now survivors will get blindness if they get too close

If more people use it, then maybe bhvr will finally realize how unhealthy this perk is and rework it.

    It desperately needs it.

  • I'm going in for those items. It's going to be a challenge to get them this year.

Just a side not to all of the peoe here claiming it's too strong: it's info. No chase. No slowdown. Just info. If the killer is not one of the strongest in the game, it's not extremely strong and the killer is wasting two perk slots that could also be pain res, Deadlock, corrupt, surge or dms.

It's really not that bad guys.

i feel like they acted rather quick with vecna. already nerfing him?? maybe he wouldn't be an issue after people learn how to play against him. i'll be upset if they nerf weave attunement too. cough both mft and buckle up nerfs took more than 6 months.

Im also against a nerf this fast. A killer this complex needs a lot of learning from both sides. They implemented 6 items for survivors to use. I don't think one can demand from the general playerbase to learn everything about all those aspects in less than 3-4 weeks. Most people don't play this game every day for 4-6 hours. They meet Vecna, get an item they don't really understand and die to him. This does not have to mean that he's incredibly busted.

My take: he's strong but fair. Everything he does has either a lot of counterplay or a downside in some sort.

I love using Franklin's + weave attunement. It's not very strong but fun.

Wasn't this perk deemed absolutely useless on the Ptb? Now it's seemingly too good? Can people make their mind up?

  • @Souplet said:

Yes, nerfing regression without nerfing gen speed meta (deja vu, PT, resilience toolboxes every game) is a stupid choice

Pop is not "dead" but definitely weak

It mostly nerf low tier killers and dont change a thing about top tier killers, as always. Now playing a regular low tier is even harder cos gens fly

Pop was a high tier killer perk. Killer like trapper or pig rarely used the perk effectively. They dont have the time or the mobility to do this. On those killers surge is way better.

  • If they dont listen to players feedback. Then who should they listen to?

Ever since the removal of hug tech and his add-ons being reworked, Blight isn’t as stupidly oppressive as he used to be and is closer in strength with Spirit and Billy than he is Nurse.

Nurse is truly the only S tier killer. Sure you could consider Spirit and Blight S tier but they aren’t as busted as they used to be and their power/add-ons have been changed over the years. Nurse has been nerfed as well but she still fundamental breaks the game than Spirit and Blight can’t do. Blight and Spirit are still very strong and in a tier of their own because they are head and shoulders above other A tier killers but not Nurse level.

Billy on the other hand is a strong high A tier killer but I don’t believe he is as strong or stronger than Blight or Spirit.

That I can get behind. Well explained.

im kinda sad they nerfed stbl but with the recent sabotage hooks buff I feel like the cooldowns with m1 would really be good a lot of body blocking also. and you are right a lot of games I lose momentum and I feel like no way out would give me a fighting chance to comeback.

The nerf did nothing to me. Yes, losing out stacks is bad. Especially for gameplay, because it results in the killer ignoring a survivor, where before they would be able to chase everyone.

The Perk needed it's camping strength reduced but they sadly didn't do that.

Stbfl has an irreplaceable effect. I have it autolocked for over 3 years on both of my mains now. The day I stop using it on Pig is the day it either gets a completely new effect or I stop playing dbd / Pig in general.

Personally I would use lethal over corrupt, because it teaches you spawn logic.

    No way out over deadlock.

Deadlock teaches bad habits IMO, therefore I can't recommend it.

  • I'm always for less is more. But you do you. Pain res and or pop should be enough if you can keep up with chase.

Deadlock is simple to use because it's guaranteed value. If that's up you alley, feel free to use it.

I'm a fan of no way out. Gives you a fighting chance in end game, so the match before that go a bit south.

Corrupt is always good but similarly to deadlock a bit boring.

    Try switching things up.

Personally, I like to train my killers power with no - only one perk.

Piggy and Sadako have build in slowdown though, therefore less of a need for those perks.

    Stbfl all the way!!!

    • Sadako and Pig above Ghosty.
    • Freddy next to Trapper.
    • Clown next to Nemesis
    • Slinger next to Demo and Bubba
    • Chucky a lot lower
    • Billy and Spirit are not on the same level as Nurse and Blight

Rest I can more or less agree with.

We'll have to agree to disagree on Mage Hand. I think one can say by now that Mage Hand just doesn't have enough counterplay. And yes you are right, there are situations where survivors don't have counterplay against any killer, but with Mage Hand it's particularly noticeable in my opinion.

I think after the nerf Mage Hand will be in the perfect spot and that's it.

Also, Vecna definitely has more counterplay than Nurse because Mage Hand has such a long cooldown. I am just saying that Mage Hand has very little counterplay just like Nurse.

Personally I am just happy Mage Hand is getting a nerf, and just hope they don't nerf FoTD in any significant way.

    Agree to disagree then.

Im gonna comment on why I like to see comp players play against pub players as content, and thats because they can do flashy plays.

For example a comp team will never get huntress/unknown/slinger sniped, because they know how to position themselves, but pub players will let you get snipes through all of the match, good players wont.

So you can essentially see a good player be able to pull off incredible plays that wont work against decent players.

Its like watching a speedrun, you are seeing what the best players can do in an uncontrolled environment.

Also comp players in pubs are more entertainining (and here I will side with comp players) because a large mayority of pub players believe they are gods at the game for using strong items/addons/offerings, and seeing an actual good player give them a reality check is amazing.

I dont have anything against comp players in pubs. I have something against people that have to make others feel as miserable as possible just to get a reaction. It just happens, that some of the comp people seem to enjoy making this kind oof conent on the expense of public players.

You might want to link the video when you are kind of talking about it ^^ for those of us who did not watch it yet, me included :D

Fully depends, why not a mixture of all of them? Maybe except for the role play part, at least for me. But usually what I am expecting of content fully depends on the creator… You're not going to watch JRM if you want Comp level plays or something like that.

The issue is that making the other side feel horrible is such an open term… There are people that feel horrible because they got t-bagged, or w/s 'ed and what not and I would say those things can be funny and entertaining.. For example the demogorgon portal humping is hillarious to look at, do I want to look at it every day for hours? No, but it is intertaining every once in a while.

And for making them feel bad by absolutely demolishing them, that is not really their fault is it, you cannot really expect people to play bad on purpose so the loss feels less bad for the other side or something like that. More a matchmaking fault than a player fault I guess.

    Sorry, my bad. Added it.

My DbD content viewing is pretty exclusive to competitive stuff like 1v1 ladder and DbDLeague replays.

I think any "top 1%", "high MMR", etc, video is beyond corny because they're ultimately just making it up unless they have the technical prowess to see their own MMR and also access BHVR's backend database (hint: the content creator is making it all up). Zero respect for pub stomping as content and I do my best to never engage with it in any way. Play in an actual competitive setting if you want people to think you're good.

But people say that the pub stomping is just for content. This I dont get. Who wants to watch a comp player stomp people that play casually, bm them and trash talk them without any provocation?

    I certainly do not.

I would argue it's similar to how they have no counterplay. I realise there are other killers with very little counterplay, but that doesn't mean it's fine for Mage Hand to have little to no counterplay.

But it has. That is my point. Dont get me wrong, there are situations, where the power has little counterplay, but what else is a power supposed to do in certain situations?

Lets look at killers and their powers:

    • Trapper: can shut down a loop with a trap making it unloopable. If survivor gets to a loop that is trapped without them knowing it, they go down.
    • Wraith: bodyblocks you at a window and gets a hit because you cant make it somewhere.
    • Nurse: has literally no counterplay if the player is on point. This not even being limited to certain situations. Its just in general.
    • Doctor: negates the ability of a survivor to even vault or drop a pallet if done right also resulting in a hit.
    • Bubba: pushes survivor one way at the pallet and then changes to the other side. With the current buffs, he will get a hit there.
    • Pig: at certain pallets the survivor will 100% get hit by the ambush due to her speed and lack of collision.
    • Deathslinger: just zone them until you get a hit.
    • Demo: even worse than slinger
    • Nemesis: just hits above the pallet
    • Xeno: same as Nemesis, just worse because crouching does not work if Xeno plays it correctly
    • Blight: dont even get me started (can break pallets in less than a second right now and is not killswitched)
    • Hag: similar to trapper
    • Knight: drops guard / if survivor is chased by the guard, the knight is almost guaranteed a healthstate.
    • Skull merchant: a lot worse than knight
    • Artist: not loopable with the exception of mindgaming a pallet. Very similar to mage hand.
    • Wesker: can also zone but not as effectively
    • Pyramid head: zoning and hitting through the dropped pallet while the survivoor drops it.
    • Huntress: also mindgames - if pallet is dropped in her face, it results usually in a hit.
    • Spirit: injured?

What I want to stress is, that powers are supposed to give you hits from time to time. Sometimes this has very little counterplay from the survivor side. Many killers have something like this in a lot of situations.

Vecna has a ton of different items that are supposed to help them against his spells. Mage hand can give Vecna in certain situations free hits. Im not denying that. However, if a power is not able to give you a hit at some point, then whats the reason behind it? Maybe its too strong right now? Could be. Is it maybe to early to say it? I definitely think so. I personally would give it 2-3 weeks and then see how it implemented itself.

Vecnas mage hand is the big talk of the town right now because hes new. Many people see him and have to go against it. This makes him higher priority than problems that should have higher priority (Blight, infinite on new map, tons of bugs on new map, …). This is at least my opinion.

Vecna has a super complex power. I dont expect the playerbase to get really good at countering him in literally days.

Saying that Vecna has as little counterplay as a nurse in genral is crazy to me.
