    Max Deviousness points, see?!

Zero irl heart attacks by survivors!

    That's How you play 🐖

Aura reading has to go but I'm letting it slide as long as the 🐖 is not jump scaring people.

@radiantHero23 How the hell did I not know there was a Pig Main thread hidden in off-topic?

I still haven't read any posts as I'm scared of what I may find...

I can't function when she's the Killer, it's embarrassing as a P100 Nancy being all scared after 5,115 hours in this game.

But, that be the effect... the effect of the Pig 🐖

    We've always been here...

    In secret...

Oh my god, my friend is the same. He has completed the game 5 times in the space of the space of christmas and halfway through Febuary. Each playthrough took him less then 60 hours. We said he needed help. When I say I literally saw him like twice over that period I am not joking (aside from christmas). When I was considering getting it, he told if I actually want to keep the will to live don't get it. I am prepared to not see him for another month.

I wish you good luck!! And try to leave the house!! My friend has already taken the rest of the week and Monday-Wednesday off for it.

I got the game after Christmas. Was my first game that I wanted to play on my new computer besides playing high def. Piggy.

I have 4 playthroughs at this point with the 5th being almost done. However, I'm mostly playing in evenings for an hour a day because I don't have that much time throughout the day.

What can I say, the game is just that good. Wish they had a certain women with a Pig mask in it.

This is where 🐖 talk about how to not use stealth and use Distressing, right? Right?

    Indeed!

We also talk about worship, balancing and other stuff.

Ok, but when you basekit buff specific killers, how does that concern Blight at all? Nobody is talking about changing the pallet break time or basic attack cooldown or something like that? If you thought that you were completely missing the point. When people ask for basekit killer buffs for the lower end of the killers they want the basekit of those killers buffed… Not killer overall.

I do think killer needs some sort of early game mechanic and a mechanic that discourages tunneling, rewarding hook spreading and punishing heavy tunneling.

Making the game focus on the killer getting as many hooks as possible and keeping the 1v4 up as long as possible would result in a more fun experience all around. Obviously this would need heavy basekit changes for both sides.

I'm fine with small changes for killers in the current version of the game. Blight is fine in our current version.

But if the game would change for the healthier, killers like Blight could easily become a problem.

That is the exact same time for every killer though... And it is still a time limited event, all the other things also safe time.

Of course all other killers can do that. Blight and some others however, have base powers that strong, that a mechanic like this can easily make them too oppressive compared to other killers like Doctor for example. That's why I pointed out that Blight and some others will be a problem if the game becomes more oriented towards the lower tier killers in a form of basekit killer buffs.

I know it's a time limited event. That's why I mentioned other aspects as well.

  • That's some good cake. Hope it doesn't get nerfed.

I am not ready… but I must… to honour the maiden who fought valiantly along side me for so long to reach the base of the Haligtree, only to wither into rot as the person she was, my friend, rather than ascend and become a weapon of the Erdtree. In her name I continued on, the quest to return the dignity and the sense of self to the Blade of Miquella, too lost in her resistance of the Scarlot Rot. Our honourable battle returned the pride she forfeited in meeting Radahn's measure, facing the scarlet bloom for the last time to finally be one to prove a match for the Goddess of Rot. It is only fitting to meet her Lord and face him for true dominion of the throne.

    Also an aside:

It's funny that we called this build being problematic even with the aura nerfs months ago… I now live with anxiety for a random note to appear in the patch notes one day 😩

But if you down someone using your power it will be on cooldown, so if you hook someone close by or instant hook, that does not make the cooldown go faster... He gets less out of it then for example Wraith who does not have a cooldown on his power?

It immediately negates the time to walk to a hook. I'm not talking about his cooldown. I'm talking about the downtime where he needs to carry people to hooks. That is valuable downtime for the survivor team.

A killer wastes a lot of time carrying survivors throughout a trial. You can find out how much time that is by slugging anybody and not hooking at all.

By using autohook, killers can negate that downtime. This saves a lot of time. For most killers this is fine, but for the higher tier killers, like blight, that can apply pressure very fast, this can easily become too much.

  • Blights base power is unhealthy for a version of the game where 90% of the killers are more viable.

Just look at the new hook feature. Absolutely fine on almost all killers. On blight? Pretty stupid because it makes his downtime after a successful down non-existant.

Blight is, similarly to Nurse, pretty easy to get good results with. He has a really high skill ceiling, which is almost never necessary to reach in public lobbies.

He's very fun to play, therefore often seen.

He had the strongest set of addons almost any killer had for a very long time, making him very despised for that reason alone.

Those are just some reasons to why Blight is not liked.

  • Old iron will on demand for 15 sec does not exist I take it?

With sabo I agree, the insta hook does negate that. Flashlight, I haven't seen yet. Don't know how that works, because the killer has to first pick the survivor up to hook them with the mechanic. Do you want to save them mid hook animation???

If you are soloq and struggle with Gen speed, you should not waste time with flashlight safes. They are risky and can easily lead to a snowball of the killer. I know they are fun, but if you want to escape, then they are detrimental.

Insta hook has not been a problem for me.

  • Personally, I dislike tbagging and the notorious "humping" a lot more than someone saying "gg".

I totally understand that, but my point is that the survivors should have a fair chance of getting a trade, but it's rather difficult because Bubba can quickly down both survivors, I feel that it shouldn't be a guaranteed death once Bubba camps someone during endgame.

Thats not a bubba only thing…

Many killers can do someting like that. Myers can do even worse with tombstone…

  • Fine perk, that is outclassed by other info and slowdown perks. It can be annoying to play against, but thats the point of the perk (and any perk one could say).

Only shines when combined with certain addons or Franklins demise.

The pants, for example, are taken from the Hidden Horror (body piece), while coat is taken from part of Bloody Beginnings (body piece) with a cut along the back to match the Red Coat (body piece).

The weapon uses The Saw (weapon piece).

The mask uses the Pig Head (head piece) under the anniversary mask, you can see it under the eye holes, meaning Amanda is wearing two masks (the pig mask and anniversary mask).

I dont mind re-using assets to make something new, it's just something I noticed about the outfit, it re-uses a lot of assets, which is interesting more than anything.

Well observed! I dont mind re-using assets. Especially when they fit together that well. If it isnt broke, dont fix it.

Im especially excited about the new blade. It looks amazing in combination with other skins as well.

  • Lethal is most of the time a game health perk, because it fixes the early game problem many killers have.

No wonder its seen that often.

I flipped a coin and guessed right! I can live another 5 seconds! And now I flipped another coin and this time I didin't guess right, so I lose a health state. Wow, much skill, such counterplay!

What do you think dbd is?

Almost everything in dbd is Rng...

  • It used to be my most disliked map in the game, then I changed my playstyle and I genuinely started to enjoy this map.

This of course has to do with me playing pig and Sadako, who are either favored through stealth or have an unfair advantage.

It's still the most horrible designed map in the game by far due to it allowing next to no interesting gameplay. Either the killer gets completely destroyed or the survivors do.

  • Can we all just stop complaining?

Peoplw bring what people bring and people play the way they are allowed.

When playing killer, I also dislike to face 2 bnp + 2 syringes and a map offering. But if that's what the devs enable, I'm can respect their decision, although I don't agree with it.

The mori is only good for two things. To negate a ds upon death hook and to preserve one hook on the map. That's it.

  • The Piggy skin is amazing. As a Pig main, I HAD TO GET IT. 🐽

It means that we should have had a few escapes statistically.

You do know how statistics work right?

  • I personally find blight to be a lot streonger due to him be able to readjust, therefore being able to deal better with certain maps than billy does.

  • @Sarrif said:

Dude I was literally in a 4 man swf. None of us got out. I think I escaped once through hatch. There's no way someone could run an off meta build and survive in this unless your going specifically for hatch.

    "I was literally in a 4man swf."

    Thaf means you win automatically?

  • @Sarrif said:

So I'll try to keep this short but due to the event it's just not fun to play right now. After play like 20 matches and the four man swf team getting stomped on all of them I think I have figured out the main issues.

The invitation abilities on killer side negates a lot of what survivors can do and there's nothing they can do except stealth through the game and hope they don't get caught.

What I mean by this is that the ability to insta hook for certain killers is incredibly problematic because in practice this means that killers that are very high mobility and have a lot of pressure, have much less downtime to give survivors time to reset. Before when a killer spends 10~20ish seconds hooking a survivor it's now one maybe two seconds and they are immediately back to get more pressure. This also has the effect that sabotage is no longer in the game practically speaking. Pallet saves are also buggy because the killer can ignore it by just instantly activating the ability.

Next the ability to reduce stuns is also incredibly bad because it makes the event pallets worthless practically speaking since they break instantly and the killers don't get a real stun so you can't make distance to anything else unless it's literally right there.

Finally the worst ability of them all is that they can just break a pallet so instead of playing around it or giving the survivor any kind of counterplay the pallet just breaks and the killer gets a free m1 or insta down depending on where the pallet is and who the killer is.

So you are left with a game where chases are incredibly short and there's far less reset time for survivors so healing becomes a massive issue. You can't do much to protect a teammate if they are tunneled because sabo is gone and survivors make drastically less distance due to pallets being easily countered and if you take hits then you are screwed because your not going to have time to heal and complete five gens.

Oh and the block window effects buggy as heck, I've had killers vault through it before, and that's if it actually works and you don't accidentally use the quiet mode because everything is tied to the same button.

So it seems like the only way you can play this update is being an immersed Claudett if you want to survive. And that's just not really fun for me. The extra bloodpoints is kinda nice but this whole… event just makes me wish chaos shuffle was back even more.

Wow. So we had this from both sides now.

I wonder if you have been around last year for this where killers where able to expose a survivor at bloodlust one. That was something let me tell you...

I've said this before in another post that is awfully similar to this one: imo, killer got the short end of the stick here. (which if fine, regarding that the role had the stronger powers last year.)

Sure, your point, that stronger killers are even stronger with the auto hooks is not wrong, but this happens, when a basekit feature that helps lower tier killers a lot to keep up is implemented generally while killers that are not in the need of a mechanic like this still remain untouched.

That's why I've been telling people for months that killers like Blight are not fine basekit for a better version of dbd.

    Let's get into the argument:

    • The old iron will on demand for 15 sec, usable on both health states is incredibly strong. This can end chases or give massive distance due to the killer being highly dependant on sound clues. It genuinely feels as overtuned as the exposed on bloodlust one from last year. A bit over the top. (which is fine. I hope that next year, they will find a balance)
    • Window blocking is very strong at windows that a killer has to vault aka God windows. What you describe seems to be a latency issue.
    • You do know that there is more a team / a survivor can do that is getting tunneled except sabotage? Bodyblock / good looping...

If you really despise the event this much, then maybe go to the normal queue. That's why it's two separate game modes this time around. At least that's why I think there are two separate queues.

  • @Neaxolotl said:

Survivors got pretty nice tools too, whether you can utilize it or not is a different matter

Very true. The old iron will on demand is extremely strong if used properly imo.

  • @Rudjohns said:

Are we really debating a nerf to Distortion when Weave Attunement exists now?

    This community is unsalvageable

So which perk of these is now too strong? I see both as ok. Unfun design for the other side, but not very strong.

If you want to make fun of people, bring a good argument to the table.

  • You lose all stacks immediately when facing an Amanda's letter piggy.

  • You constantly play against swf? Wow.

So you want to stack 5 slowdown / regression perks then I take it?

No. This is a bad idea. Just because pain res got nerfed by 5% does not rectify a buff like this.

Let's be real, most people would not use a 5th perk slot for something like genetic limits.

Making the game even more monotonous and unfun should be the last objective of the devs before the servers get shut down.

I absolutely loved the concept art for Pig's anniversary cosmetic. However the in game one is a bit too vibrant and bright for me.

The concept art was more subtle with the colors and felt more gritty and matched the atmosphere of the game better. Meanwhile the in game cosmetic is very bright; the blues red and yellows all stick out way too much for my liking. Kind of wish BHVR could make skins come with alternate variations so when you buy a skin you actually get 2. For example, you get a second version with slightly different colors or for survivor cosmetics you get a version without a backpack if there is one.

Its a shame because I was so excited to buy this cosmetic for her but now I kind of just want to pass on it.

That's understandable. Nobody has to like anything.

I personally am most hype about the blade. It will look amazing on my usual cosmetic mixup.

I just wish killers could see this. Zero kills, I think all 2 hooks except one. 247k. It was a loss but I actually got my Spirit hit achievement completed as well. I love these events for just that. Get a lot of BP and work on achievements

"I wish killers could see this"

I wish people would finally understand that people play both roles in this game.

  • Well, I play bloodwarden + Stbfl only Pig and have very mixed matches. Some I win, some I lose. I dont tunnel and I dont camp. After playing my regular rounds of survivor to end the session, I found the silence on command to be incredibly strong. Old iron will is one hell of a powerful ability to just pull out of ones hat for free.

The card that heal the entire team is also incredibly strong. All things considered, I do feel like killer actually got the short end of the stick this time around. Fair enough, last year, kilers where able to insta down survivors at bloodlust one. That was also incredibly strong.

Just a quickl reminder, that tunneling is not happening more because of this event. People tunnel normally and during the event. Why should they just change how they play? Certainly not for you or me. Sad as this may be. It is definitely not the devs job to make sure that nobody tunnels. Thats a task that has been unsolvable for almost 8 years now.

  • Do these kinds of threats actually serve any other purpose than to make people go at each others throats?

  • @VantablackPharaoh91 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3739497#Comment_3739497

You changed a bunch of generator regression and progression stuff, then hyperbuffed sabotaging with toolboxes before an event that gives a bunch of toolboxes. Killers with weaker kits, and especially ones like my Main Ghostface, who already struggle to get a 60% killrate are suffering because of these changes. It is really, really, REALLY unfun to be an M1 Killer Main right now as a result meaning in order to get anywhere, these Killers may have to slug everyone - which isn't fun to be on the receiving end of OR do.

The things people are doing in particular is the same sort of bully tactics as ever: a bunch of sabotaging of hooks, and bringing maps with bad hook RNG that this can be abused on like Badham, then forcing further hookspawns. The Sabotaging buff may have had good intentions of helping to pull people off gens and give Killers a breather, but it was a mistake in terms of reducing toxicity. It doesn't pull anyone off gens, it just means they dump toolboxes in gens anyway and those who wish to ruin the experience for newer Killers will sabotage even harder, making the game feel awful for them and breeding toxic responses.

As for the event? You brought back the blocking of windows in ways that can create infinite loops for some Killers AGAIN, it was bad last year and it's bad now, just SCRAP this mechanic PLEASE. There's a Tryks thing that can heal the whole party and deflate all pressure during critical pressure moments and the Exposed just isn't long enough to help - and when it does, it creates a situation where a four man slug can happen, and rhe worst part is this can happen at random. You don't even know when it will happen, it could just happen and accidentally screw you over at the worst time.

I know you and the other Devs INTEND these events and new mechanics to be fun "let's just be silly and wacky" for everyone, but that ISN'T how people play them when bloodpoint gains are increased. People want to max points, so of course they bring the items and perks that help them win more frequently and provide guaranteed value. Perks like Lithe, Resilience (why is this allowed to buff all actions by 9% when MFT was nerfed for the same thing over 3%, being injured to activate it?), and items like Commodious Toolbox. Perks like doubled up Pain Res and Grim Embrace, the strongest Killers in the roster like Nurse and Blight, and the strongest addons for those Killers. The result is an unfun sweaty mess for everyone at what's supposed to be a celebration of what makes Dead by Daylight fun and great - and as ever, SoloQ and Killers considered to have weaker kits (particilarly M1s) get hit the absolute hardest and have the worst time because SWFs and stronger Killer Mains want to sweat for high BP gains. And the same thing happened with Blood Moon, and the same thing happens every time you run Blood Hunts. Literally the ONLY time these events and special things are any fun at all for casual players like me, is when you do modes like Lights Out (perkless) or Chaos Shuffle(no bringing any sort of strong build, you get what you get). Then it feels fair, fun, balanced, and enjoyable.

If you want to fix this behavior, you need to increase the BP gain, remove the BP cap, and make the events fully be about fun both sides. I'm really disappointed you didn't even consider just bringing back something like Chaos Shuffle but adding Tryks events to make it more fun, and even more disappointed you didn't seem to learn from how sweaty last year was, Summer BBQ was, and Blood Moon was.

Damn. I have to slug now to get anywhere? Proceeds to win with bloddwarden + stbfl only Pig against full loadouts squads.

  • the us vs them is strong today…
