And why is slugging so bad? Care to elaborate? How is the killer inflating his ego by doing this?

I feel like it's pretty self-explanatory, to be honest. When 3 kills is not enough and someone wants to perform better on the expense of other people around him, therefore making his desires a priority, therefore making sure that other people around him are forced into a very uncomfortable situation, but still not caring about it. Enormous ego at its finest.

Can't blame survivors for leaving the match. In the giver circumstances there is simply no room left for them on the map.

So he uses a logical and tactical strategy to complete his objective. But why let the winner take his prize, right? He doesn't deserve it, because he is just inflating his ego. (Which is okay, you know. He outplayed all of you. And you lost. It's as simple as that.)

Killer is already got his kills. No need to waste other people's time by slugging and forcing them to stay in the game just so they could stroke their ego.
If the last player gets the hatch - he gets the hatch. If you catch him before that happens - oh well.
Just don't slug, stroking own's ego at the expense of other people is just not cool.

  • Always aim up for the max range. Then it's all a muscle memory. Don't worry, you'll get used to it.

As for the plaid flannel, when I tried using it, it has always annoyed me. It was more of a distraction, because I had to watch the purple thingy instead of the survivors.

Care to leave some constructive feedback?
If the answer is "no", please leave and have a nice day. Thank you.
  • @Master
My proposal would work if the game was more balanced, I can agree on this.
BUT, I made this to prevent noob stomping and to prevent long queue times, as the ranks 20 -15 are almost dead at the end of the month, because you can't derank to them.
  • @Carpemortum @Nos37
Oh, I see. Sorry, it seems like one sentence disappeared from my original post. My fault.
You could DC without punishment ONLY if there are 3 or less survivors.
  • @Nick
I use Shadowborn instead of the Ruin for an extra challenge.
  • It's a rare bug that I have seen only on console versions.
It can happen anytime. It has happened to me twice on Xbox, when no gens were even finished.

Or make it so when the game starts, when you hit the leave button as a killer (only until 1 minute has passed), you'll get no penalty for DC'ing.

Killers would abuse this to dodge certain maps they don't like.

I don't really see the abuse there. Survivors don't like 3v1 and killer doesn't like the map? It's good for both sides.
  • Or make it so when the game starts, when you hit the leave button as a killer (only until 1 minute has passed), you'll get no penalty for DC'ing.
  • Nurse- Pumpkin Head and P3 Clothes
  • I played Oblivion today, so I am in mood for something medieval ^^.
  • I'll put it this way:
The game is terribly optimized. It has FPS problems even on the "strongest" console.
If the devs will optimize the game (it's planned for the December update), it could maybe run on lowest settings.
  • @popoles said:
    No it's a terrible thought.
Switch is inferior to Xbox One and PS4 in terms of performance and even they have problems with this game.
Heck, even Xbox One X can't run it on stable FPS.

They could always lower the graphics, like most games on switch.

You mean playing it on 0% resolution, Low and 640x480?
It would still have problems imo.

  • Well, I was trying to not be rude since I have been a member of this forum, so I don't really want to do such promise (sorry!).
  • Just make his power more punishing. Right now, he is not punished for missing the chainsaw.
    I suggest this:
When you stop holding M2, Hillbilly will continue running for 1 second (can be tweaked).
This will also be more "realistic", as you can't stop immediately when running IRL.

It's a big problem on console. I have played against survivors who knew how to "abuse" the broken auto-aim.

    Console is crap anyway.

    enjoy the 15 fps.

Just always swing in a circle with higher sensitivity.

    Then it doesn't work.

Yeah. The low FPS is the main reason I miss the hit most of the time.
360s aren't something like an exploit. The only problem is the auto-aim.

especially nurses auto aim with blink is annoying

    She has no autoaim whatsoever.

Nurse. I don't care how much skill she takes to learn, she breaks the natural mechanics of the game. She ignores any kind of game mechanics designed to combat the killer, pallets are nearly useless and if you're on the Game Map, say goodbye to your sorry self unless its a day 1 nurse. In my experience Nurses either slug too much, which is totally unfair, you're already a dayum nurse or hook babysit; Blink away from the hook until rescue and the second your feet hit the ground she blinks back. To top that off, she is always making crazy hits that shouldn't even land. Her lunge is ridiculous. Banish that bish. The number one thing that CAN combat her is hiding and breaking line of sight, and then they gave her stridor. Is this a joke? I feel like she was the creation of one of the devs who had a bad day playing as killer. If I had a second choice it would be the clown.

She has the same lunge as the other killers. From mine point of view (when playing as her), her weapon ALWAYS goes through survivors. It's just a visual "glitch".
  • Although I hate Insidious campers (I feel it is a rather cheap strategy), it would punish them a lot. It would basically make the perk useless. (Even more than now.)

They can’t nerf him because every other killer is butt but nurse. Once the killer role itself and solo Q is balanced, then hillbilly would see a nerf. A very small one, but still. I don’t even know how you’d nerf nurse. Her balance is a house of cards. One nerf would bring her from top to bottom

105-110% movement speed, blink gets a cooldown similar to spirit. Survivors hit make her unable to teleport for 10 secs.

So basically, we will get buffed Spirit (and hammer nerfed Nurse)?
  • Even though having this as a training option seems good, it would hinder the new players imo.
The main reason is the removed second blink. They have to get used to them, eg. how long you can charge the 2nd blink before going to fatigue, you also have increased fatigue with it etc.
The best way to get better with the Nurse is to play her in a "vanilla" mode, so no add-ons at all.

  • The only thing I suggest is this:
When the player stops holding M2 while running, he continues running for a second or so, so that the missed chainsaw hits are more punishing.
  • Yes. I am not a native english speaker, so I had to search for some table that compares these adverbs.
  • Well, camping was acknowledged as a game mechanic long time ago by the devs, yet there are still survivors who are complaining about it.
  • The best bug I remember was the Nurse Bug after the 1.9.0 patch.
She had double stun after EVERY successful "lethal blink" hit!
Like, do they even check if all their added and/or changed features work as they should?
  • Unreal powers? What do you mean?
  • What nerfs? Oh, you mean the slight Nerf to the healing speed? You poor thing ;(((
  • Try spreading chocolate chip cookies around.

There is no way to make survivors join your lobby. Try playing in the evening, that's all I can say.

If you get 360'd and are complaining about it, you're bad. Not an exploit, a tactic, want devs to remove 360's? How about devs remove camping and tunneling while they're at it too? It's DbD and nothing's fair its how this game is and you need to accept that and get better so you don't have to complain. The best counter to 360s are to not swing at all and then the survivors get confused.

Trust me, on console you can get 360d even if you are a veteran player. The auto-aim is bugged. Although if you get 360d on PC, then you are bad.

Oh yeah you always get 360'd no matter what. I just feel its uncommon if you're better? I feel as Aim Assist is broken, but it almost alway works in my favor. (I play on max sensitivity so it makes sense im not bragging i swear)

Eh, whatever. Playing on max sensitivity is a necessity of course. I mostly get unlucky with the auto-aim, it just stops mid-lunge for some reason (= I can't move with the weapon).

  • Freddy. He is annoying to play as and against. The fog is too thick, so you can't see the immersed Claudettes and you can't even find the basement stairs.
    Also I hate anything I can't see.
  • Farming: (both) trying to get as much Bloodpoints as possible, but it is bad for teamplay (eg. unhooking a survivor even though the killer is near to get the unhook points)
Looping: (survivor) using pallets and windows to waste as much killer's time as possible.
Sandbagging: (survivor) blocking entrances, windows, pallets etc. to get your teammates killed
Camping: (killer) not leaving the unhooked survivor for some reason (most of the time the survivor angered the killer)
Gen rushing: (survivor) only focusing on doing gens, so that the exit gates are powered in a short amount of time. (Note: this is a very controversial term, some people say it doesn't exist, because survivors are just doing their objective)
T-bagging: (survivor) repeatedly pressing the crouch button, so your character is going up and down quickly
Tunneling: (killer) focusing on one survivor (and ignoring the others) to get him/her killed
  • I disagree with the Visual Effects.

Yes, it makes it more believable, but we have to think about people with low end PCs (and consoles). They already have to play on low (some also have the resolution set to 0) and this blur would make it even worse.

Some people also have problems with motion blur (it makes them sick), so this would also be a problem.

How about we change the darkest moonlight offerings in a way, that only it's user has a darker map? This would give them the desired horror feeling, while removing the advantage they gained through it.

    elaborate

Claudette uses darkest moonlight, because she likes the dark map. It looks dark to her. But ONLY to her. Everyone else has the normal light setting. She doesn´t get an advantage for using this, because it´s only darker for her. Killer and everyone else has the normal view.

So basically I will hinder myself for 8000 BP?
  • Honestly, Dark Moon + Red Forest would kill me when playing as either side.
  • It's anything but smart.
  • It does? Why do I keep getting LF dailies when I don't play him? :(
  • Are the killers with "glowing eyes" (like Wraith, Doctor) possessed by the Entity? Is it controlling them?
  • I remember disconnecting for the first time ever because of the bad optimization.
    (Xbox one S)
I was the Nurse. The map was the Red Forest. 20 FPS and game freezes after every blink. Hell Naw. I even got motion sickness when playing it.
  • This scenario almost always happens to me at R1 on Xbox (I remember meeting you there, so you probably have the same experience):
    1. Your teammates find out the killer has Ruin
    2. All 3 of them start searching for it
    3. One of them gets caught while searching and ends up on a hook
    4. The other 2 are now waiting for the killer to leave so they can get the unhook points
    5. They are now being hooked/unhooked until two of them are dead
    6. You manage to repair 2 gens with Ruin and the killer finds you.
    7. Your last teammate waits until you die and he escapes through the hatch.

    Summary:
The last one that did almost nothing gets the most points while you get around 10k for gens.
  • @ClogWench @SnakeSound222
This would turn her into a super easy and efficient killer. She should stay as a rewarding killer when mastered.
  • No.
The thought of a survivor stabbing my beloved Wraith with a screwdriver hurts my heart.
    (Although it's not a bad suggestion gameplay-wise.)
  • I am always telling myself that it's a challenge to me (R1 with the Wraith now mostly). But when I get a group with 4 DS and 1 insta heal, I sometimes dream about lower ranks lol. (Although in the 4 DS match I killed 2 and almost double pipped.)
