You really should try playing the killer a little bit. You’ll get their weakness a lot better, and how to play against them.

Wraith is the most add-on dependent killer (outside of maybe trapper). Without his add-ones, he is really rough to play.

Yeah I know I think I've opened my big mouth a little to fast this time but I got it no more complaining about the killers until I've tried their side you're right I'm sorry if I offended I'm still kind of new

Well, there's a lot of debate on that. Originally, the game didn't have SWF and was balanced around survivors not being able to communicate.

Then they added SWF, which was good because without the ability to play with friends the game was dying. They didn't give anyone the ability to communicate in SWF either, but they couldn't do anything at all about survivors communicating on their phones, party chat, discord or by other means. So they decided to say "its not agsinst the rules to communicate".

But that left them with a huge balance issue, because communication is very powerful. SWF groups would always roll over killers, so over the years they've worked on balancing the game so that killers stand a chance against sweaty SWF groups while still not leaving solo survivors unable to win.

Honestly, the skill gap between SWF and solo will always cause a balance issue at all ranks unless they level the board by adding an in game chat. But it takes away from the immersion and killers would need buffs to account for the increased survivor coordination. The community is pretty split as how to handle this issue, as there is no perfect solution.

If you want my personal opinion, I feel like the game should have a proximity chat. Survivors could still use discord of course, but i feel like a lot less would because either they have a solo person in the match they want to talk to, or because they want to play the game as intended.

Proximity voice chat: Survivors can hear other survivors (or even the killer) talk if within 32 meters, but the killer can hear survivors only within 16-24 meters. The reason the killer can hear survivors talk is for balancing reasons, but he cant hear as far so the survs can warn each other if they know he's coming.

There could be offerings or even a new item like a walkie talkie that let you talk to each other from farther away, and add ons that let you talk to other survivors anywhere on the map, can see the aura of who's talking, decrease the distance the killer can hear, or even special ones that let you throw your voice to confuse the killer. So much potential! I may make a full post about it.

Wow you definitely should I'm pretty sure someone that can help might be reading these comments, is this app really owned by dbd creator's

    Fair enough

Well I mean I'm a Wraith main but lots of people in this community get very defensive over their 'side'

I was Just joking but it does seem like there's sides in this community, I haven't had the pleasure to play as killer is it as good as it sounds

  • @Chchchcheryl said:

Honestly sounds like someone got clapped by a Wraith.

Wraith actually needs a buff to his cloaked movement speed because in essence he is an m1 killer, decloaking well requires timing and precision. He cannot exert enough pressure with his basekit!

I myself am a Wraith main and against good survivors, even with my best addons, my success is entirely RNG dependent, survivor spawns, hook spawns, tile spawns, it's all random and affects whether I'm going to win or lose, put me on haddonfield and it's a guaranteed loss unless the survivors are literally terrible, it's so hard to lose on haddonfield as survivor, nearly impossible!

I saw you asking why more Wraiths dont use his silent bell more often so I'll answer as well!

It's an iri addon and unless you've P3d a killer their iris are only gonna show up every three to four bloodwebs on the least favourable paths (instead of the perks you want) and you have to make the conscious choice to get them most of the time. Also generally his other iri addon is much more powerful, being able to see who's working on gens whenever, it allows you to pressure much easier as you can basically nip an issue in the bud if you're good at chases!

LOL we actually won that match I was always curious about his power it seemed op but now I have a better understanding and I knew when it seemed like a person was a butt hurt from another person's comment about a killer it was only because that person main that killer

  • @dummer33344 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1956051#Comment_1956051

Its what people call an iri add on. Iri meaning iridescent. These iri add ons are found in the bloodweb and can be obtained from level 25+ I think? Every killer comes with 2 of those iri add ons, most people consider Wraiths to be the best. So yeah, silent bell clapper is an iri add on which is kinda difficult to get and require a good amount of bloodpoints

Wow did not know that thanks for the info

  • @Mikeasaurus said:

Wraith is far from OP, he's actually quite weak. Not weak as in he's useless, but his only 'power' is turning invisible, and even then he's still trackable. Since the recent update to him, he's a little tricker to spot, but not impossible. He works the same as Freddy when you're not asleep. You'll see Wraith's 'shimmer' at a set radious (24m I think?), beyond that he is completely invisible. Chances are you'll hear him before you see him coming. His footsteps are loud, and his breathing is like growling. When you know your facing a Wraith you need to be constantly watching out for him, and listening for his sounds. Though he can be tricky with certain add-ons. His Silent Bell can catch you off-guard if he decloaks behind a LoS Blocker, and he can also use an Add-On that stops his TR for 6 seconds after uncloaking. You can also 'Lightburn' him from his Cloaking by shining a Flashlight on his body when he's invisible. This is essentially a pallet stun and will burn him out of cloaking and stun him, but it takes a couple of seconds to do, the same as a normal Blind on a killer. Overall, Wraith is just a killer you need to watch the surroundings for.

Thanks, any advice on his silent bell, and why wraith players don't run that add on more often?

  • @RepostRiposte said:

Look a little closer and you'll realize he's not even invisible.

That's why Wraith moves faster while cloaked, because that's his only benefit besides removing terror radius.

Right you're all making good points excuse the inexperience still a rookie at this game it's alot of fun though and with me playing more and getting advice from this app and the community I'm understanding and getting alot better thanks for the support

  • @_HN_ said:

Outside of his cloacking, that takes some time to get in and out of, what else does he have?

The answer is nothing, he is a M1 killer.

Also his stealth is not THAT amazing that is would justify him having nothing else. You can still see him far enough to start running away, you can still hear him, at a certain level of play its almost meaningless.

The speed boost helps him improving a bit his patrolling (and in a smaller measure his chasing), it's far from being op.

Yeah you're right never thought of it that way

  • @Grandpa_Crack_Pipe said:

Boy golly, just wait 'till you hear about the Spirit.

Just beat a spirit, I wonder why people get so hurt when you leave a comment about a killer ain't that what this page is for, sounds a little creepy to me lol

  • @RPGWolfGamer23 said:

Wraith's specialty is surprise attacks, if Survivors know he's coming and he starts uncloaking they could just get away and not have to worry about him hardly if he didn't have the speed boost. It's there to give the Wraith time to actually catch up after having a slow uncloak time. The uncloak speed add-ons are interesting, but I wouldn't call them overpowered or in need of a nerf. Not to mention you could always run away when he's closing in on you before he starts uncloaking and he'll have to catch back up to you. In summary, I don't think it's op and there's definitely a good reason for his speed boost after uncloaking.

Yeah you might be right makes sense thanks

  • Alright thanks for the advice sound a little angry their though pal are you ok must be a wraith main lol

Make a thread with a nonsensical and very loaded question.

Jump on his high horse the second someone make a decent suggestion.

Oh yeah, that's totally not a bait tread at all.

What, I really wanted to know if he had a YouTube channel I've only been playing for a little less then a year I've watched plenty of dbd players like monto, ochido, probzz, so and so on and never once did they give a suggestion to run over your on scratch marks that sounds like some really good advice so I really did want to see his gameplay I can't help you or some people in this community are that butt hurt that you don't know a compliment when you hear one

Camping is overall difficult to beat. You need perks to do it, and even then it's temperamental at best.

Spirit requires you to midgame her on another level. You can do it, but it's difficult to play against on the fly. Learn the way the spirit plays, and quickly adapt. If she goes for lunges, stealths and slow vaults are best. If she goes for the grab a lot, go for fast vaults and loop back on scratch marks.

Wow loop back on scratch marks never heard that before I would love to see you play do you have a YouTube channel

  • @Mugombo said:

You’re new to the game and to start with it will deffo be quite frustrating especially if you play as solo survivor. There’s a hell of a lot of killer perks and add ons etc that all have different effects. With experience you will start learning and figuring out how everything works but you will still get surprised by a lot of stuff. A good way to learn what killers can do is to play them and check out their perks/add ons

Yeah I've heard that before and you're definitely right I'm starting to get the hang of how the game works and operates and what to do for the whole team to make it out

  • @Exerath1992 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1954998#Comment_1954998

I understand why it feels that way when you're starting out. But perks give lots of advantages on both sides. Try playing killer a bit until you go against a SWF group and you'll see how effectively survivors can counter killers abilities and perks. The biggest edge survivors have over the killer is communication, being in multiple places at once, and between them they have 16 perks so they can have a lot more veritility as a group than the killer

Yeah you're right I haven't played killer yet so I'm probably going to keep my comments to myself a little more but one question I do have how come solo players can't communicate like swf players isn't it kind of the same thing

  • @Exerath1992 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1954998#Comment_1954998

Between them, survivors can have one person specd for looping, one specd for healing/rescuing, one specd for sabotaging, and one specd for gen repair, and they could still all run decisive strike and unbreakable

Yeah if you're playing swf but I'm usually playing solo, so instead of having to find certain groups in the community or always playing swf because I don't people that like the game so why can't they let solo players communicate like swf players

  • @thrawn3054 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1955624#Comment_1955624

They don't technically know. They are guessing based on their knowledge of the game. Typically I can figure out the killers perks during the course of the match based on how they play.

Right, I could never understand that i guess I have a long time to go for that but I guess I'll keep trying I just had a game where me and another survivor died we had 30 something thousand points a piece and the two survivors that made it out had 20,000 not mad it was just funny

It triggers when a gen reaches 70%. So while you can't say for certain it's the likely answer.

Yeah but what I'm saying is more experience players like monto or ochido know when a killer has tinkerer I don't see any type of visual que for tinkerer as a survivor

  • @Unifall said:

Don't tell this man about ghostface he'll have a heart attack lol. Seriously though you have 3rd person view just open your eyes. If you get caught off guard its your own fault.

Yeah I guess coming from a person with perfect gameplay that always makes it out sorry LOL and I've played against a ghost face which is my point he's a stealth killer gunslinger is a heartbeat killer can we just keep it that way because I'm pretty sure it's not the opposite for ghost face using tinkerer does he become even more stealthy or does he get a heartbeat doesn't make sense does it

  • @Mandy said:

Lets please try to have a little patience...we were all new to the game once, and whilst for some of us that was a long time ago, there was a lot less to learn. Coming into the game now can be pretty daunting!

Yeah sorry about that, I just seen a legacy that went down in less then twenty seconds so I guess I still have alot of learning to do sorry, being new with all these changes is can be irritating i guess i should've been playing the game when it came out then I guess I would know where this survivor vs killer beef came from because their is a actual beef which is SUPER WEIRD

  • @thrawn3054 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1951475#Comment_1951475

He probably was running Tinkerer. That's why others have said you need to keep your eyes open.

Yeah I never understand how survivors knew when tinkerer went off

  • @Fraudette said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1951470#Comment_1951470

I would say yes, because it requires an action that slows down your gameplay and pressure- which is to literally stop moving and reposition yourself. There are plenty of ways a killer could lose their heartbeat and run a stealthy build- I'd suggest running some youtube searches on killer stealth builds and checking them out, for context. Hope this helps!

Yeah I understand but killers have alot of perks to slow the game down rank reset is one of them I know it's not a perk but I went from a rank 4 to a rank 10 and most of the games I play the killer gets his/her 4k and some maps don't seem like they have alot of resources. I'm pretty sure killers win more then they lose I just feel killers have more then enough to get 4ks I just witnessed a oni get a 4k with just pop because of rank reset it seems like the devs are comparing swf with solo, it's almost like you can't have a good game playing solo and alot of my friends don't like the game because they feel like survivors have a disadvantage especially when it comes to speed

  • @Exerath1992 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1951470#Comment_1951470

It is typically balanced because survivors have the ever present edge of the 3rd person camera. There are some killers that thrive on undetectable, mainly ones that can use their power silently.

I just feel like killers have more advantages then what the game naturally gives them

  • @Exerath1992 said:

It sounds like tinkerer, insidious or dark devotion. It could even be a combination of furtive chase and monitor and abuse, because if FC gets max tokens, he would have no terror radius since his base TR is 24

Yeah he definitely had tinkerer he would drop chase just to get to a gen

So when you voice your opinion on here your annoyed I guess I'll post nothing but happy thoughts lol and I made it out that match by the way so can't be to mad about that, I just didn't understand why heartbeat killers should be able to be stealth killers

  • @Dingo88 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/228192/what-in-the-bad-word-is-going-on-in-dbd

I'm sorry to say man but the whoel red stain thing when killers hide it it's called a mind game like someone els said you need to use your eyes and your ears. when I play survivour I'm always looking round with my camera to try and get eyes on the killer at all times not just sit there doing whatever your doing without looking round you or woting for your spinechill to light up. It's not really the killers fault if he outsmarted you

So it's obvious you didn't read my post or just can't read I said what are the devs going to do next take away the red stain I didn't say I couldn't see the red stain, pay attention

  • @UncleStabby said:

Insidious, trail of torment, tinkerer, there are a whole bunch of perks that can remove the heartbeat. You need to keep your eyes open as well as your ears. Dont blame the Killer for that.

So my gen is 75%complete you really think I can hear a no heartbeat gunslinger who's really not that loud to begin with

  • @Fraudette said:

    ... was he using insidious?

Ok sorry kind of new, but is that fair heartbeat killers get to be stealthy

He mentioned in a video before people should watch his other content too. I know he wants to play other games more consistently, but the problem is, is that if you compare his low view count on his other content it's much lower compared to a dbd video. He's gotta make money to make a living. He sucked himself into being pretty much a pure dbd youtube channel for a while, and that made his channel suffer, because his other content doesn't do as quite as well as dbd does for him. That's a problem that most pure one game only channels end up happening to. I've seen it happen to so many other channels over the 12+ years I've been watching youtube videos.

    Wow that's sad

  • @GodLikeTerror said:

Monto has been burned out of the game for a while. I'm pretty sure the only reason why he still plays dbd is because his channel doesn't do well on other content besides dbd most of the time.

Right, so sad that the creators of dbd didn't think of the people that made and continued to make their game popular if it wasn't for monto I would've never played

  • LOL, right if it's not broke don't fix it, they had some adjustments they could've made but WOW

I really like fungoose too, but it's been a while since he started streaming other games. I would recommend you watching Uncharted, they used to play together.

Oh yeah I've heard of him it seems like yesterday I was watching these guys do 360's and proper looping, now 360's have very little value and with poor latency with proper looping and angles you might still get an m1 ten feet from the killer

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

You know the drill. Last 2 survivors left, what does the killer do? Slug one over and over, while they hover over them as bait. I’ll do my best to try and get them back on their feet and away from the killer, but sometimes the killer is so damn stubborn for their 4K, it’s impossible to help that survivor without it being suicide.

But every now and again what does that damn slug do sometimes? Crawls in your direction so the killer can follow them. It’s infuriating. Please get rid of the aura reading in dying state. It’s abused just often enough to be a big problem.

No unfortunately you definitely need it so you can have an idea where survivors are during the game, maybe they can make it last for like twenty seconds and then run out, or if the survivor starts following you run away you sound like you're afraid to move during end game but most killers are definitely obsessed with 4ks ain't nothing worse then a killer purposely allowing the survivor to get on his feet just for the survivor to rat you out I thought this game was to have fun almost like a game of hide and seek its no fun playing when the people that get caught just tell where your are seems like people are taking this game way to personal

Yes. Same as any other multiplayer game where you are on a team (and literally all team sports as well) if your team is trash, you'll likely lose. Losing isn't fun, so you'll be unhappy. There is no amount of buffs or nerfs to any side that will change that.

Wow you're trying so hard to make your opinion true in most if not all multiplayer games you all get the same advantages in dbd the killer gets most of the advantages, stop it

It has been a mixture of several things. Streamers and famous youtubers made it “cool” to make videos bullying killers and humiliating them out of existence. Word spread and it became a running joke that killers were afraid of survivors and not the other way around.

As time went on, a succession of heavy nerfs have been hitting survivors nonstop since release, together with broken and easy to play killers. At this point, playing solo queue with random survivors is painful.

The only way to play with competent people is going into a SWF squad that you know you can rely on.

Wow that's sad such a great game i guess it can't just be played and enjoyed, this is the only game where their seem like its sides survivor mains vs killer mains, I always wondered why killers would smack a survivor when he's hooked, I'm like my guy I can't feel that in real life are you really that mad that's why I make it a habit to say gg to killers because most people that play killer seem mad in real life lol

    NO you didn't. Im sorry but Ive played this game since like 2018. It's alot more difficult as a survivor than it used to be especially with all the noed users. they also got rid of the feature where you can look straight behind you holding a certain button. And the only way to really evade a killer is to properly loop now and you really think people know exactly how to do that when they try the game? Ive had rank 20 killers with no perks simply use noed after we complete 4 gens just to take us all down in the end and camp. IM TIRED OF NOED USERS. Ik what yall are gonna say "ThEn Do ToTeMS". excuse yall but you don't have to rely on others. And that's the biggest problem w this game. No mic feature and no way to communicate. Just thrown in there with hopefully someone, ANYONE, that's dependable. And frankly people that are experienced are tired of it so theyre quitting. all of my friends barely get on. and when we do we only play a couple matches before we call a hiatus again. Im tired of you all saying being a survivor is not hard when i see most of you using cheap tactics and tricks to win matches. As im typing this im being carried to a hook by someone who camped everyone else. And yes I turned off crossplay, so im talking to you computer players aswell. There should be a penalty for camping and there should be a proper way to communicate with teammates in game. If that happened i would be ok with noed and this game again. And btw if you look at the survival rate vs kill ratio you'll see my point. Here are some facts to support it, enjoy;

    https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/b3tgmi/reposting_dev_released_stats_on_kill_ratesrank/

Wow you right having communication between teammates would be a great idea I wonder why with only swf

  • Right that's what I was thinking like did this guy even proof read his comment, is he trolling me, is he mad lol, I just wanted feedback I like this game allot and there's allot of people on here that really helped me understand and not give up on a fun game
