so the killer isn't suppose to do their job because someone DC'd?
No one DC'ed. We loaded in without a 4th teammate.
You don't think it's kinda sad that under those circumstances the killer still chose to play like that? You don't have to camp, tunnel, and slug at five gens under every circumstance. It's a choice killers make that ruin the game for survivors when killers already have a huge advantage. It's pathetic.

What the killer didn't play nice because there were only 3 survivors? Preposterous, we should find that killer and ban them for life for the atrocities they have committed!
It's pathetic that during this event and under those circumstances that this killer still played like that. It's literally actually pathetic.

Wait, do you really mean 3 teammates or were you only three survivor?
Three survivors, one killer.

Had a week before when playing with friends. Every ghost face we played camped and or tunneled. They were always on console and I'm like...What is this bullshit?? They're stealth so you can sneak up on someone not camp the first person you hooked.
Yep - two ghostfeces and one wraith on console.
Slugging is hardly new, even at five gens, but this is weird.
@DemonDaddy said:
I rarely see it myself, but it's nothing new. Also it's called baiting; killer is hoping for overly altruistic teammates to start a snowball before losing gens. Smart play if Survivors fall for it.
I don't really think it's overly altruistic though. At the start of the game with five gens to go, the killer immediately slugs, I'm going to get the person up if I can.

Killer is virtually unplayable for me right now with all the lengthy framedrops and freezing. Survivor's a little better but still awful. I'd like to get crowns on some of my killers but just the thought of loading into a killer match with this framerate turns me off the whole anniversary thing.
I think killer is easier to play. And I highly doubt it will be fixed before the event is done. At least killers don't have to do anything but find the crown.

I just gotta ask: if the game is unplayable on console, why do you keep trying to play it? I've had one game that didn't work on my PC, through no fault of my PC. I just uninstalled it and called it a day.

Or you could just assume Victor is near and crouch beforehand in the exact same way you would do to a Hag who's trapped the hook.
Seriously, does this community just lack object permanence or something?
Probably. I find it shocking how the people that play this game literally never learn. It's actually painful.

Try getting better at looping. I also hate to tell you. But pips and rank don't matter. Don't feel cheated just because you lose them.
There is not a lot that can be done outside of a four man SWF at the same skill level if a killer chooses to tunnel. Most do, and it's a crappy experience for survivors. They can play how they want, but don't act like it's not a conscious choice killers make all the time and blame survivors' skill.
-
Just had a game with three survivors bring cakes and the killer brought an ebony mori and used it three times. It's kinda sad killers play like this when an event is going on.

I like that it's brighter. I don't trip over my Blendette teammates anymore.

I'm on XBox one... Playing surviver is not so bad...
That's funny, I just switched to killer on PS4 and I don't think the lag is as detrimental as it is to survivors.
-
A lot of us survivors are tired of losing because teammates choose to not play. I've been hurt far often than I've been helped by keys. The hatch shouldn't spawn until there is only one person left so people can't decide to quit and wait. And maybe keys can be removed from the bloodweb and you have to get lucky and loot them. It would also help if there weren't tome challenges for hatch escapes.
And I'm a survivor main.

In my time playing Twins I’ve noticed a lot of people complaining about Victor being able to camp a hook while Charlotte applies pressure. Since Charlotte can see Survivors near Victor, he’ll always detect you going in for a hook save and pounce on you. Well, as a professional gamer, I’m here to divulge a secret trick to countering Victor camping. A lot of people don’t know it yet because it’s a super complex tech, but I’m here to show you a step-by-step guide into countering it.
Ready? Here it is.
Step 1: Crouch.
And that’s it! You’ve mastered the tech! By crouching, you render Victor unable to reveal you to Charlotte, meaning the Twins player has no idea you’re there! This gives you the opportunity to sneak up to the little gremlin and punt him in his stupid face! Congratulations, your neural pathways finally fired off enough for you to remember that the crouch button exists for sneaking and not just butt-dancing after getting hit through the god pallet that you wasted!
Thanks for tuning in to ManWithALemon’s weekly series Twins Techniques, and remember: Seriously it’s so ######### easy to shut down a camping Victor how have you people not realized this Killer has been out for SIX MONTHS-
This also works on Hag traps, for all the new people to the game. And Toblerone's spilled trail of lasagna.

I can make a survivor build with a toolbox that lasts for what? Half of the gen or more?
While having the repairing boost, so they can still be strong
Even the brown toolbox saves you what? 8 seconds? Its 10%of the gen done quickly
And yes toolboxes needed that nerf, yet gens still fly like hell sadly
Halfway decent survivors don't need toolboxes at all.
Also, constructively, run Discordance.
-
Is this a joke? You're literally faster than every survivor. You can break pallets. You can learn which pallets you don't HAVE to break. You can run Spirit Fury and Brutal Strength, just off the top of my head. You could play Doctor. You can bring map offerings if you feel some maps are unfair. You can watch Youtube videos or streamers to help you get better at the game instead of expecting survivors to just stand still and die for you.

Decent players would'nt be so altruistic to strangers like they were is what I said as why I think they were and the fact that all three of them dc'd one buy one after getting slugged. The one I let go didn't dc but friends that are salty talking ######### through discord would do that.
I'm very altruistic. I regularly run a couple of perks solely to benefit my teammates and I'm a solo survivor. But I agree the DCs means it was probably a SWF.
-
They weren't necessarily mad, maybe they just wanted to let their buddy get hatch. I"m not saying that's okay, but that might have been it. And if clicking a flashlight is bullying, you probably should play another game.
-
@Tricksters_30thBlade said:
I've had 2 or 3 gens pop while chasing this happens mostly on bigger maps and just in general gens are too quick especial if it's swf running provethyself and toolkits. It's just not fair.
Toolboxes and their add ons have had major nerfs. Unless you bring in a BNP, they're pretty much useless. I don't even search chests anymore because I'm more than likely to just get a useless toolbox. Ironic, because I'm spending more time doing gens since searching chests isn't worth it anymore.
And you said it, slow killers on bigger maps = gens are going to go fast. Luckily, there are perks you can use to help. You can play as a faster killer until you've unlocked the slow-down perks you want for the slower killer, or you can bring map offerings to get smaller maps.
-
Because killers also get cakes much easier in their blood webs ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Nothing about this event is fair.
-
Yeah the event is easier for killers than survivors - you have to escape with the crown, killers just have to find it. And it was not working earlier where survivors were escaping and still not getting it. Check to make sure you're all updated.
-
I'm very frustrated with this too as a solo survivor and also stopped bringing in cakes. I think just the mindset of killer mains vs survivor mains will mean we never see eye to eye on things like this. This event is a lot easier for killers than it is for survivors, and maybe we survivor mains tend to be more cooperative in nature, so I have a hard time understanding why in games with 4-5 offerings and a person DCs for whatever reason, killers STILL have to camp and tunnel.

To be fair the DC after the legion hit might have been a crash. But yeah thats just bad luck.
Also, to be fair, the killer might have been mad that the game became a waste. But who knows, sorry for your experience
I think the person who DC'ed immediately was a crash - she brought the streamers. I think the second was just done with a DC and a Legion.
I could see the killer just wanting to move on to the next game if he hadn't repeatedly hit us on the hook. That's not just wanting to go on to the next game. We aren't the ones who DCed, and the other person even brought an offering. I've purposely died to EGC when killers are nice and let the two people who don't DC farm and get an easy escape. Why shouldn't the killer get at least one kill when two people had tantrums and quit and the killer was nice and let us make the most of it? This wasn't any of that.

...i had these kind of matches too often. I'm tired of bringing something that lets others profit and me or someone else ends the match with 10k points because the killer tunnels someone out at 4 gens with ruin still alive. I don't get it, the grind is hard for everyone, it's like 2 weeks where we all could stop tryharding and sweating and just try to max out points for everyone. The few killer matches i had i did exactly this, i made sure that everyone has enough time to get into points and if i dominated hard, i gave hatch or gate to people who found the crown. I don't expect killers to follow my example but at least play a little bit more chill, youre not alone on this planet...
Four offerings, a person still DC's, and the killer still has to camp and tunnel. I'm literally not using any cakes the rest of this event. Characters that are going to get prestiged will just lose their cakes. I'm not rewarding this kinda stuff anymore.
-
I actually snorted at this. Well done.
-
That's what survivor is like normally for me in NA.
-
I had a game where someone with a Bloody Party Streamer DC'ed instantly when we loaded in on Red Forest. Second person DC'ed after getting hit with Legion's frenzy. The killer slugged the other person, and then downed and slugged me. Put her in the basement, put me in the basement, and proceeded to stab me on the hook until the entity ended our misery.
This is why I'm not bringing any cakes. I'm not going to reward killers who have a much easier time during this event anyway.
-
@Crowman said:
I don't see how it is the responsibility of the killer to make sure everyone gets bloodpoints.
Let's see. Advantages killer has in the event:
only have to find crowns - survivors have to win
way more cakes in web
event items are extremely bright and help killers find survivors
So no, of course killers don't have to, but it would be nice if they didn't camp and tunnel100% of the time during these events. But that's too much to ask for killer mains.
-
I just had a game where one person DC'ed immediately on Red Forest, and they brought a Bloody Party Streamer. Second person DC's when they get hit by the Legion. Third person is hit and stays in game. I finish my gen. The killer then proceeds to slug the other person and come after me. I throw shack pallet early, get her up with WGLF, and he slugs me. Hooks her in the basement, hooks me, and proceeds to stab us on the hook until game over. Oh and the person who stayed? She brought a cake.
Why are killers playing like this?
This is why I'm not brining in any cakes.
-
I think I've had maybe 1-2 games with everyone bringing an offering. I've stopped. I'm not giving teammates who don't play the game a bonus anymore, and when so many survivors are tunneled out of a game with 5,000-7000 BP, I'm not giving that killer a bonus either.
-
I have the most fun with M1 killers, but getting a 4K isn't the only thing I need to have fun. It's the last, actually, but I'm a survivor main, so we have a different mentality about playing killer.

Doesn't make a lot of sense to me to keep cakes "for when there aren't so many being used". First, it's kind of selfish, you know that a lot of people will drop cakes (so deliberately not dropping some is basically freeloading), second, economically it also doesn't make sense.
Now is the time to get cakes in your Bloodweb with Bloodpoints, use cakes to get more Bloodpoints, and use the gained Bloodpoints to get more cakes, which in turn can be used to get you even more Bloodpoints. You should understand the pattern.
I see people saying, I'm keeping them for .... It doesn't matter, the best way to progress is to spend it now. Once the event is over, of course you'll be able to use the cakes to get more Bloodpoints, but those Bloodpoints won't get you more cakes.
So again: the time to spend cakes is now (and if you don't have cakes, spend points in the bloodweb)!
I'm not saying it makes sense or that I disagree about using them now, but that could be it.
Survivors drops rates are way lower. I'm tired of spending BP to give killers who camp and tunnel a bonus. It's why I stopped getting party streamers out of the web years ago.
And the game I just had? I'm not giving teammates like that a bonus either. Selfish, petty, sure. I'm not winning games for people who do nothing and then rewarding them with a 105% bonus.

Not "playing the way you don't like." I don't care about camping, genrushing, flashlight saves, whatever. I mean things like slugging and refusing to hook people without a reason, teabagging, & being a jackass in post-game chat. Read through 90% of the threads here and you can see how terrible it all is for the game's health.
It's not fun but it's part of the game. People should not be banned for playing the game in a way you don't like. I don't like those things either but I don't think anyone should be banned for it. And all the complaints about the post-game chat always make me laugh. Don't read it. Problem solved.
-
I am almost solely motivated by revenge with my teammates. If two teammates who haven't been touched let the 4th person go into struggle so they can grab a crown while I'm being chased, I'm not helping them the rest of the game. They too can go into struggle on their first hook while I cleanse a dull totem.

BM'ing from either side should receive a ban. It's unhealthy for the game and a large reason why people quit.
No, there shouldn't be any bans for what you consider to be bad manners in a game.
They aren't cheating, they aren't using exploits. It's absurd to say people should be banned for playing the way you don't like.

lol, that sounds right
I don't get why so many killers camp and tunnel when a person DC's. They immediately have a huge advantage, would it kill them to not camp and tunnel for one game? Just the one?

Is this a joke? They should be banned for what? Doing things that are in the game? Crouching too fast? Clicking a flashlight? Working on gen with a teammate?
-
I have one cake for every 8-9 other times. Absolute BS. It would be nice if killers used more cakes since they get them so much more.
-
I almost never see farming anymore, but I do see a lot of games where killers are de-ranking. Like, every time I play, actually. Multiple times.

@captain_murphy said:
Can someone explain to me why in order to get the crown for each side...
- A killer just has to find the crown.
- A survivor has to find the crown, and either complete all gens and escape or complete enough gens and get lucky enough to find the hatch. Also, they glow and are visible from a longer distance.
What's the logic in making it that much harder for survivors to get their cosmetic?
Not to mention killers get way more cakes in their bloodwebs.
Survivors get to spend 50-100k to get a cake and then IF three other people bring cakes, you might make back the BP you spent to get the cake. Genius.
-
I'm not using them because I don't want to spend the BP to get tunneled out of a game with cake. I am rarely seeing them in my games, to be honest. Killers get them so much more frequently in their bloodwebs, it would be nice if they used them.

What really amuses me is how the song and dance goes: (Note: This does not apply to EVERYONE. I just hear it allot)
Survivors: Tunneling/camping/slugging are toxic! Unfun! Unhealthy! Remove AND punish them! THINK OF THE FUN!
Also Survivors: Flashlight clicking & t-bagging are tactics! Just don't get tilted!
The double standard of 'We got mad; cater to us' and 'Just don't get mad' is astounding, sometimes.
At what point does teabagging or clicking a flashlight end the game for killers?
-
Do whatever you want.
-
So far on my Claudia, I have:
3 cakes
7 flashies
7 meddies
6 toolboxes
So are killers getting all cakes at the same drop rate we get flashlights, medkits, and toolboxes? Why does this event so heavily favor killers? This is absolutely absurd.

Or the game is really unstable right now, which is why the penalty is off. And do you think survivors are the only ones DCing? The last four people that DCed for me were killers.

My very first game as Huntress: two people randomly disconnected during the first 15 seconds. I didn't even meet them. I downed a Survivor: they disconnected.
OK. I found the fourth and gave them the hatch. What an impressive first game.
New DC tech for being sure not to be sacrificed? 🤔
(And I was only running BBQ. Survivors, think about the stacks! I think about your WGLF stacks by hooking.)
I've been getting a good amount of people DC at the start of the game. Not rage quits, just, boom as soon as we load in. That's why the penalty is off - the game is unstable. I've been disconnected a few times myself with errors.
-
I used to always run Small Game before they nerfed it. I actually prefer Detective's Hunch now over SG.
