  • Solo survivor is absolutely painful. I have 1500 hours and they're almost all solo and it's never been worse. The tome adds "secondary" objectives that become primary objectives for your entire team. No one cares about anything except getting challenges done.

During this event, I've twice been chased by a killer for more than SEVEN minutes, and my teammates still didn't get the gens done. But they all had their crowns.

I am constantly farmed off the hook, and now DS has been destroyed.

The amount of times I've been using Bond and I see that all three of my fully healed teammates have stopped playing with one gen to go, and they're just waiting for me to finish it, while injured, is absolutely infuriating. I can either win the game for them and die, or refuse to play like they are, and the game takes 10-15 minutes longer, and we all die.

I can't tell you how many times I've only had time to cleanse four totems and I die the first time I'm touched the entire game because the killer has NOED, and not a single teammate could be bothered to do one totem the entire game, nor do they even try to find and cleanse it.

There have been so many changes lately that make the game better for killers and it's miserable as a solo survivor.

  • Most people who play all games are clueless and shockingly bad. I've stopped playing a lot of games because it's a miserable experience to play solo. DBD is one of them. I stop for months at a time and hope when I come back, something will have changed. The game keeps getting worse. Teammates are a dumb as always.

  • As a solo survivor, the problem with keys are when people stop playing or never even start, with the intention of just finding hatch. This "fix" isn't doing anything to address that.

  • Thank you for making me laugh.

Also had severe Problems on Console (Series X) such as bugs/glitches and tons of Frame Drops when Gens were finished.

So i moved to PC after a few months, because nothing had changed.

Never had any Problems again whatsoever. Also the Mouse and Keyboard Support is so much better for Killer AND Survivor, i never want to go back.

So i suggest you to maybe switch to PC too if you can.

I personally don't want to play on PC. Lot's of people can't afford to buy a good gaming PC. Some people don't have the room. The fact that this one game is so broken on console is not even close to a good reason to switch to PC.

  • They don't care about console and never have. It's not really a secret.

  • It seems like they kinda already did.

Personally, it seems like a very dumb move right now. Even if I could find a PS5 to buy right now, I wouldn't. The pandemic was not kind to me, and there's no way I can shell out that kind of money right now. I bet a lot of people are going to take even longer to upgrade for this same reason.

  • How can survivors choose to end the game for killer if they want?

  • Played five games today and not a single killer brought a cake. One brought pudding though.

Edit In one game out of eight I had one killer bring them. Survivors have brought at least one cake in all games except one.

I haven't had that much time to play dbd due to my internet shutting off due to storms and the console issues, but I managed to get to 110 cakes I love collecting them I don't know if I will ever use them all up, but they are there lol.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/B1HOU9BX8G2U/cake.png

I don't know if you are allowed to show your collection of cakes on the forums, but I would love to see what other people's cake records are lol I know some people collect loads of them. :)

I spent 315,000 BP to get ONE cake on Yun Jin.

I just went through 10-11 bloodwebs on my P3 Nea and Yui combined and got 1.

    I'm happy for you though.

The concept isn't bad, the execution was terrible though.

Agreed. I just can't deal with the constant cheating. It's mind boggling why they let that happen.

  • I spent 315,000 BP to get ONE cake on Yun-Jin.

I just went through five bloodwebs and only got ONE cake on my P3 Nea.

We aren't getting them nearly as much as killers are, and in my experience, far more survivors bring them in than killers. I've been seeing way more ebony moris than usual, which is a nice little FU from killers. I'm not bringing in cake when most killers just camp and tunnel anyway.

  • I do hope Jason eventually joins the ranks. Friday the 13th is such a bad game, it's a shame. I've tried so hard to enjoy it.

  • It looks great but yeah, it's an awful DBD map.

It makes me happy to get Midwich or Hawkins.

  • No he doesn't. Not every killer is going to be perfect on every map. Not every survivor has perks that work on every map. Dead Hard fails constantly, but I don't use Balanced because it's not good on every map. Should every single map be changed to make that one perk better for me as a survivor? No.

Some are better for certain killers, some are worse. Same with certain survivor perks. I've been bothered by zombies on Red Forest several times. I've been chased of totems, and gens, and totems again, and had to lead zombies away while teammates finished the gen without me. Just because a killer doesn't see the zombies bother survivors, that doesn't mean they aren't.

  • @IOIOO said:

So last match I was playing playing a b tier killer with no addons, against red ranks on midwich which is one of the strongest survivor map. There was a clicky clicky Feng who t-bags and trashtalks in endgame chat. Basically typical toxic entitled survivor. Next match it was her again but she was using Jake, using blight on ormand, her chase time was 20 to 30 seconds and then she dc'd after getting instantly downed lmao. So if you got trashtalked by survivors, they probably only got lucky that match and their real skill is garbage. Just imagine that guy seeing this post and feel the shame in her heart.

I don't see the point of this post? I have been chased by killers who facecamp me, and smack me on the hook over and over again until I did. Who cares?

  • I dodge all survivors with keys, and I hate seeing Megs. They will not use their Spring Burst unless they're being chased so I have to watch them tiptoe across the map when I'm on the hook. Also, Claudettes are almost always garbage and I leave the lobby if there is more than one. They go down almost instantly because they rely entirely on stealth and have no skill. And this is as a survivor, btw.

  • I had to spend 315,000 BP on one character to get a single cake, and I wish I were joking. Killers are bringing moris instead of cakes when they drop so much more for them. It's a disaster to play on console and it's a repeat of last year's event. No, I'm not enjoying it.

  • I think it depends on the skill level of the SWF. I had six friends who all quit this game because the killers matched my rank and made games miserable for them. I've never had the pleasure of a full four man SWF at the same skill level. I just suffer now in solo queue.

I've never heard any high rank killers mention how easy their games are when they get SWFs like the ones we had. It's so weird.

  • That doesn't mean it also doesn't always fail.

  • @The_Daydreamer said:

I have question for both sides? Do you think while the event is going, farming is fine? So everyone can get their crowns.

I had many trials where killers camped, sluged and tunneled because people where trying to get the crowns or on the other side, survivors used 4 Event Offerings but rushed all gens in 4 minutes and left the trial.

For me, I don't care if a killer farms or plays normal as long as they don't tunnel just one person because for no reason. But I am planing on farming as a killer because I want everyone to enjoy the event.

So, do you think it is fine to farm in this case? Is their a right or wrong answer?

I've had a lot more killers not even farm, just crown hunt. And then take the opportunity to derank too is probably part of it. I'm not bringing in any add-ons during the event since survivors are now punished by losing them when killers are AFK to derank, which happens every time I play, event or not.

  • Maybe good for Ghostface and Wraith. Doesn't everyone hate indoor maps? Thank god they're all we get now.

  • @IlliterateGenocide said:

I always see people hating on it when in reality, would you rather go against a lithe,Sprint burst, balanced, or even smashhit over deadhard? Those other perks are wayyyy more annoying than deadhard and I'd rather go against a team of full deadhard over those anyday

I always laugh when killers complain about DH. Imagine if it actually worked you survivors weren't exhausted on the ground 3-4 times a game.

  • Yep, and that doesn't mean it's not a crappy thing to do.

Survivors are not here to purposely go slow to help killers. You cannot judge them.

  • Did you read what I said?

I agree - they're useless now. So what are killers doing during this even that is much easier on them to get the crowns and gives them way more cakes in their webs? Bring useless moris that cost 7,000 BP instead of cakes that would benefit everyone. It's intentional and a crappy thing to do. But who cares. Everything about the event is easier for them, and the survivors triple or quadruple their BP.

  • @Crowman said:

I honestly haven't experienced that much hard tunneling. It's really not that wide spread as people claim.

Also, chases are supposedly the most fun part of dbd so what's the real issue if the Killer decides to chase you the entire match?

It is literally every single game I play unless someone runs Devour which has been three games in the last 40 or so hours, or if people are farming/meme'ing. I am not joking. It's damn near every single game.

The real issue is that most people aren't good enough to run the killer for the entire match, and the killers choose over and over and over and over again to ruin the game for that person. Yes, it's not their responsibility to make sure that person has fun, but it's a crappy way to play. With all the new people in the game right now, how are any of them going to stick around if every single game ends the second they're downed?

And yes, if chases are fun, why camp and tunnel? Where's the chase in that for the killer? Where's the fun of downing someone immediately off the hook?

  • Challenges are part a big part of the problem. People don't care about winning, they just have to get the challenges done, even if it throws the game.

Lots of times killers camp and tunnel anyway, so you have to just go for. I run BT always now.

So it's JUST killers who are being total ######### ? Do tell us more

Literally everything about this event is easier for killers. Can't tell you how many games I've had teammates get tunneled out with less than 8,000 BP. Yes, killers are making this event worse than survivors are.

  • @Aneurysm said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2332034#Comment_2332034

You still have a problem with moris? Who cares about those anymore

I don't have a problem with the mori itself. It's a waste of BP as far as I'm concerned for killers. But what's sad is that during this event when everyone could be bringing in huge BP because of the cakes, killers who get them far more easily in their bloodwebs are choosing to bring ebony moris.

First game of the day just now was a Billy who camped and tunneled with an ebony mori.

  • @Kraizmer said:

    That's a laugh. Seriously I'm gonna laugh 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

    okay???

Just played my first game of the day. Camping and tunneling Billy with an ebony mori. I'm laughing too at how pathetic some people are.

  • I'd say normally camping and tunneling is like, 98% of the game. It's 99% with the event. And I'm seeing moris more than ever too, which makes me laugh. Survivors all bring in cakes which are harder to find and killers bring in moris. It's just a big FU to survivors. I noticed this a while back during the Blood Hunt events and before the ebony mori fix. Killers would bring them in even more during those events. Meh. I'm not bringing in cakes anymore and I know a lot of other survivors are done with it as well.

  • @TheBus4K said:

It's probably a bug with survivors, with killers I get between 1 and 3 cakes per level.

I don't think it's a bug - survivors have to win and killers just have to interact to get the crown. The event is just better for killers.

    Yeah it's kind of absurd.

  • I had 1,000,000 BP exactly so I prestiged my Yun-Jin.

It took 315,000 BP to get a single cake on her.

315,000 BP for a single cake.

    I wish I were joking.

Are you getting a lot of moris too? Not only are killers getting more cake in their webs, but they're bringing moris instead. smh my head.

  • @BingBongMan said:

My suspicion is on how much you've prestiged a character. It could be confirmation bias, or just luck of the draw, but so far it's been consistent on my characters.

The characters who haven't prestiged at all have been receiving far more cake than my prestiged characters.

For a specific example, my prestige 3 Blight has been receiving 1 or no cakes in every bloodweb. While my non - prestiged twins have been getting 2 -3 per bloodweb.

Do any of y'all care to help me test this theory?

Edit: survivors should measure overall anniversary items in their bloodweb. since y'all have the flashlights, medkits, and toolboxes in your pools.

I've noticed in other events that certain characters just get more event items to drop. Like some characters get way more flashlights and med kits than others. Cakes are about the same on all my survivors.

how can you update the game graphically while keeping it optimized for 8+ year old consoles?

It's crazy that the game runs much better on PC when there are millions of combinations of configurations out there, and they can't get it to work on a few consoles, even if they are eight years old. It's not really expecting too much to be able to play a game you bought.

  • Makes sense people want to stack cakes with friends, especially since they're so much harder to get for survivors.

  • @thrawn3054 said:

Do you actually care about escaping? Outside of a daily, a challenge, or an adept does it actually matter to you? Personally I couldn't care less. All I want is a fun game with good points. After that escaping is irrelevant to me. Am I alone in this?

I like escaping if I'm camped and tunneled, otherwise, no. I don't have to escape. I like a fun game where everyone gets to play.

Buy a pc… imagine buying a console and sitting at a 20 inch monitor complaining about not being able to use a m&kb 🤣

    PC gamers are so special.

  • Yeah this event seems to have brought out the worst. My killers games have been fine. Some DC's but that happens anyway, even with the penalty. Matchmaking hasn't been too horrible. Survivors games are literally every killer camping, tunneling, and slugging. Literally every single game. I'm a survivor main but I've been having more fun playing killer. There were more survivors DCing but lately it's been more killers, actually. I'm sure it will swing back though.

  • I think killers slug a lot more on PC. Every PC Huntress I come across slugs. There are way more Toblerones on PC, I assume because he's just easier to use on mouse and keyboard. Nurses and Huntresses are way better on PC. Same with Oni, and I again assume it's a mouse and keyboard thing vs controller.

Question: When's the last time you considered the killer's fun when you had the upper hand and let them get some kills?

You're assuming your fun even factors into the killers' decision-making process, when the fact is, it doesn't. The killer is trying to win, same as you.

Yesterday was the last time I considered a killer's fun. I had a couple noob killers and I felt bad for them. I had a Felix on my team who was clicking his flashlight at a noob Huntress and I thought he was a total dick. I was going to let him die on hook if she downed him. Another was a baby Pig who had to have been a level 20. I had a level 20 Ghostface DC yesterday on Hawkins as soon as we popped the last gen, and I sent him a message telling him that he didn't use his powers and we always knew he was coming. I wasn't being salty or mean, I was explaining to a new player what he could do to get better.

And I have let killers get kills before. The last time it happened was when two people DC'ed and the killer let us finish the gens and GTFO and I stayed and let the entity kill me. The other person left. He could have ended the game very quickly but decided to let us get some points, so I felt he should get some too. I always let killers hit me out of the exit gats for extra points if they don't camp, tunnel, and slug, but I bet a lot of people think I'm being toxic somehow by standing still and pointing out. It probably doesn't even occur to killer mains that survivors can be nice like that.

Yesterday was also the last time I tried to stay behind to give a killer a free kill, and the Trapper brought me to the exit gates.

Are you trying to tell me though that the killer who loaded into the new map and proceeded to camp, tunnel, and slug at five gens when we were down a person had fun? I stopped playing when she had my two teammates on the ground. Is that fun for killer mains? Someone who stands still and gives up because the game was over about 90 seconds into it? Is the only thing that is fun for killers getting a 4K every single time and literally nothing else? Because as a survivor main, every single survivor doesn't have to escape for me to have fun.

The survivors could have just DCd too, what’s your point? In that scenario if you care about winning as survivor you chalk it up to a hatch game. If you are not prepared for hatch games as a survivor that’s your own fault not the killer.

I am not upset because we didn't win. It's not about that at all. It's about killers constantly choosing to make games miserable when they have every advantage and some really good reasons to NOT camp, tunnel, and slug for a change. And they still won't.

  • @SilentPill said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2330758#Comment_2330758

You can’t blame the killer for playing to win. Maybe they just wanted to move on to the next match too? If I was put into a 3v1 as a killer I would not want to waste much time on it either. Cakes don’t matter since you can get 2-3 per bloodweb.

Exactly, it doesn't matter for killers. This is event heavily favors them. 2-3 per bloodweb? I've seen that once as a survivor. We don't even get one in every bloodweb, are you kidding me?

How is it wasting time to not play ONE single game where you don't have to camp, tunnel, and slug? Seriously. How is that a waste of time. Especially on the new map. Why take the opportunity to learn the new map, get some good BP, and still probably get the win because the killer has a huge advantage from the get-go when you can ruin it for the three survivors? I guess I'll just never understand that killer mentality.

It’s funny because I actually wanted to DC for the first time because of a farming killer. Doesn’t get any more boring than that. I’d literally rather be tunneled out of the game because at least we are playing it then.

Yeah farming is boring but I expect some during these events, especially since Blood Hunts seem to be super rare these days. And I mean, you can still just do gens and open the gate, you don't have to farm with the killer. That's what I usually do.

It was the new map. The survivors were at a huge disadvantage. There were three cakes. I just do not see why so many killers are still choosing to play like this under those circumstances.

In a 3v1 there's no need to camp and tunnel, especially with 3 cakes

Not to mention it was the new map.

1 … 10 11 12 13 14 … 35
