  • We are not part of the company that earns millions each month with DbD.

Their job to fix it and now there are more and more threads on the forum from unhappy players. It was not like this some years ago.

They have to do something now.

HOW MANY POSTS WERE MADE TELLING YOU THAT WAS TOO LONG

Seriously it feels like you guys only fixed what was necessary like legit minimal effort made to satisfy us. Actually im almost sure that is the case because nearly all victor posts in feedback was about 45 seconds being too long and the effect of aura reading should be as soon as he is on you. there was VERY FEW people who disagreed with any buff suggestion that was reasonable.

like if you guys started working on this when it was announced surely you saw all of the posts saying that this isn't good enough and you didn't even reduce the time you legit ignored all of the suggestions and complaints regarding this. there are so many good ideas and buff suggestions in feedback if your balance team is this incompetent how about taking a few suggestions and ideas from there because at least with this killer it feels like the community knows better than you guys.

    No they don't. /thread

  • Best part in all this is even in the broken part of the patch they list it as :

    • perk might not work with high latency

BHVR, learn the basics in multiplayer games, high latency SHOULD NOT be allowed. Either you kick the player either you add servers in new world regions.

first of all, fun is subjective.

regarding your "i cant loop them into oblivion" part, have you ever considered that maybe you will have to loop them differently than you do with any other killer?

yeah, if you try to loop a Deathslinger the way you would loop a Wraith you are going to die. every time.

Deathslinger, despite his great chasing ability is still loopable. you just need to use LoS blockers to your advantage and use gamesense to predict and dodge incoming shots.

you cant loop him as long as you can loop a Wraith, but you can still run him around for a bit - same applies to the others aswell.

Hag is someone you dont want to loop around her setup, so leave that area / ruin the setup whenever she cant use it (they should remove that dumb automatic cam focus on her phantom tho)

PHs faking ability has been nerfed just recently and while it still is there, you can play around it a lot better now.

Spirit is the only one in here where i think that she'd need some actual changes. first of all a bugfix so you can actually hear her footsteps again and then they should cut the chase music as soon as she goes into phase. that would be all the changes she, imo, needs rn.

"gamesense to predict and dodge incoming shots"

Once he reloaded, yo ucan't predict when he will shoot. It's quickscope, on a straight line from a loop to another, you can't know when he will shoot, it has nothing to do with game sense lol.

But guys, as you are pros, go on a game in red rank, find a gunslinger and record the game, post the video here, we are waiting.

Also, do the same against other killers listed in my 1st post.

And don't post Noob3 or Ayrun videos cause clearly there are only 2 players like them in DbD, no one else is nowhere near their skill level.

BTW, Noob3 stopped playing because balance problems and bugs and servers :).

  • @MeltingPenguins said:

If you think the sole way to play this game is getting into chases you might genuinely wanna deinstall it and play something else.

You guys are funny or dumb i dunno.

When survivors were immersed and you never found them, you we crying on this forum cause it's not a hide & seak game.

When survivors were pallet looping you came right here again crying that it's not a chase game.

But now you say that it's a hide & seek game.

Bunch of low IQ really... If you think there is counter play with those killers while it's 4k in almost every games (many high skilled killer mains admitted it) then you are trash.

I have played killer, against red rank with demogorgon, PH and GS, was getting 3k+ 80% of the time against red rank while i just have 20 to 30 hours as a killer.

Only counterplay working was SWF gen rushing. No gen rush it was an easy win for me. And gen rushing is clearly not a good gameplay feature or a good strategy, we don't play generator simulator, we are playing DbD...

"You can't play a game being crouched all the time."

Urban Evasion. Or, flashlights. Or, look at the ground and avoid traps.

All of these killers have counterplay. Their counterplay is just different than other killers.

Also people trying to say that Deathslinger has no counterplay are ridiculous. If you see him lining up a shot, or you think he might be, or if he exists, find a way to break LoS. It ain't that hard.

Your survivor rank ? Platform you play on ? How many hours of gameplay in the game ?

Saying that some perks counter a killer is useless as you don't know the killer you will face. A good hag it's 4K all the time. Say otherwise and everyone will laugh about you on this forum.

Deathsling is quickscope, you can' predict when he will shot. Also you can't break line of sight in between pallets/loops. So he will hit you between pallets. There is no counterplay against him.

Counterplay is not made with a perk or an add on. Counterplay is a game mechanic, always present in every games, that can counter a killer.

By counter i don't mean 100% counter, but that you can still hold the killer in some way of playing, not falling down in 15 seconds...

  • @Yamaoka said:

Quote: "If the killer is decent it's a 4k all the time without even using mindgame."

This is exactly why many people enjoy playing Spirit, Pyramid Head, Deathslinger etc.

Because the match is (almost) all about YOU in terms of chases. YOUR experience decides how the chase goes and how long it takes to down said survivor. Pallets and windows only provide partial defense instead of being potential "5 gen looping objects".

Many killers are sick of having to rely on survivor mistakes/mindgames to get their hits/downs/hooks.

There is no 5 gens pallet loop anymore, if it happens, the killer doesn't know how loops are working. Any good killer main knows when to chase, when to control map and how to end chases in 30 sec.

  • @KingOfGhost said:

For Hag use ether flashlight or crouch

For GS use the corners from the loops and try looping in bulding and no arounf pallets

For PH he can hit you with he power only if you are in lock animation so fake a window or pallet and you ok

For Spirit Iron Will and try to play stealth.

Thoes are not the most fun counter but they are counters.

Hag you can't play a game being crouched all the time

GS, not working, you can't loop more than 30 sec, even in building

PH, he can spam his power and fake it as much as he want without loosing enough speed and without being stun long enough to not directly hit after the fake

Spirit, bug or not, it's now months to not say years that we have a problem with her

There are no counter at all. Pallet looping demands mind game, a lot. Killers have a way to loop to make the chases shorter.

I really hope your joking cause when those stats were shown it was showing kill rate not pick rate and going by that chart nurse is the worst killer and doctor is one of the best.

Stats were showing kill rate, yes. 68% kill rate means 3k every game on average.

Nurse has bad kill rate cause it's impossible to be good with her on console. Same for the huntress & gunslinger.

Every killers that need aim skill have bad stats because the stats take in account the console results.

Killers are way too strong atm. Most of survivors are playing in solo and duoQ. Buff them again and you will get 90% kill rate.

Kill rate should be around 55% maximum, for every killer (little higher than 50% cause then killers would be way too underpowered against SWF).

Try by yourself, play 20 games in soloQ in red rank and count how many kills killers are doing. =).

    It's 4k almost every game.

  • @carnage4u said:

This game is easier for survivors. Maybe at the lowest ranks with all new players who are all playing badly, the killer may do slightly better, but once people have a few hours of gameplay and/or play with friends. Killers are the weak link of this game.

Tunneling/camping at high rank may at best give the killer 1 kill before game is over and all Gens are going, and most bully squads can easily clear 5 gens, and deal with a tunnerer/camper with ease.

The exception is the players with 3,000+ hours that face off against players with les then a couple hundred, but that also plays out as it should. (this happens often enough to do terrible/awful/pathetic matchmaking)

We are tired of reading "noob" killers like you continuing the myth that killers are weak in this game.

Official stats reavealed that killers have an average of 68% kill rate, including console killers in these stats. We all know how bad console players are, especially when you are a PC survivor. You directly know when you face a console killer, they have bad aim (input device is bad) etc...

Killer is hard only against a competent SWF, 5% of the game, cleary.

    Check this out @ x 0,25 speed.

Literally, he started to launch 5 meters away from me, i'm almost at the pallet, he is at the house corner when he launched his hit and then the hammer is 2 to 3 meters away from me, hit is registering ,everything looks normal for the developpers that obviously don't play their game to check the state of it by themselves.

9 games out of 10 the killer delivers such hits. Now, with my friends, we are amazed when we are facing a killer that has tight hit timing. It's like every killer is playing with 150 ping in this game... is it on purpose ? (i have optical fiber with 30ms on every server i play on, in DbD, in other games i have 10 to 18 ping).

Great game, awesome hitboxes, awesome servers, awesome hit validation.

    image.png

ps : @developpers, the game felt more fair when dedicated servers didn't exist. Game gave us our ping on the server hosted by the killer, above 70, we were leaving the lobby. Under 70, everything was good and timings were tighter.

  • So now killer mains or 50/50 killer/surv are admitting the game greatly favors killers and that it's crap playing as survivors.

Thanks, now devs, wake up and undo msot of the balance changes you have done to favor killers. You have been on this road for al ong time now without even taking in account the stats that show the killer OP situation for more than 1 year now.

  • @dbd_noob said:

Well from a survivor point of view with having a good internet connection it was perfect. The only real thing I noticed was huntress stopped throwing submarines and the hits actually felt legit.

Still some more transparency would be great!

There has never been transparency in this game.

Even with server hit validation, if they change it to something like : above 150 ping server hit validation kicks in; under 150 ping it's still the way it is now, you will never know as they will never tell.

The way BHVR support their game and communication is a mess, we gamers are left in the fog =).

I still see more variety in Survivor perks. Sure, you get the dead hard - ds - bt clones fairly often, but they have less impact in the game’s outcome for several reasons:

    1. 99% of survivors regardless of rank are potatoes that go down within 10 seconds.

    2. Very few people can find totems fast.

    3. The undying + ruin combination is guaranteed win, especially as you said if you use a moderately strong killer.

There’s no thrill in the matches anymore. You always win. In order to lose as a killer you have to either have zero experience with the killer you’re using or try to lose on purpose.

=). Months that i say the game is killer sided, deeply killer sided, killer mains came to argue that the game is survivors sided. I'm happy to see a guy (i expect a good killer) saying that as a killer every game are ez win.

This game became unplayable as a survivor. Everything is broken, killers have too many way to counter eveything we rely on to survive.

  • @Killbutton said:

The only way to stop tunnel is to create a more efficient option for the killer to get kills/win in general. As it stands, it's just good tactics to tunnel/camp. If it's successful, you remove a asset to the survivors and slow them down, or at least bait others into getting hit. For certain killers (looking at you, Trapper) tunneling and camping are simply just the best way to bring the survs to you instead of hoping they don't just circumvent your traps or loop you into the dirt.

Tunneling and camping is a big problem but there are not the only ones.

Unbalance is a thing, killers are way too strong atm, with a kill rate above 60 for all of them and equal or above 70% for most of them.

BUT even though killers are too strong, gen rushing is a big problem aswell... Game design choices to add artificial balance is a big problem too.

Well, it's not that fun to play this game anymore, for both parts...

  • @IxmKira said:

Short but easy point, please make tunneling banable to people rank 15 or 10 below or just in general. Even letting the killer be able to not play the game for said amount of time would be perfect better than allowing the killer to go for a survivor right off the hook. Jeez.

This game will die pretty soon i guess.

Last update, the devs got a huge backslash, first time i saw this.

More and more players (killers and survivors) are complaining about :

    • unbalance
    • optimization
    • game design choices

Developpers continue their way into mediocrity, this game becomes terrible, more and more. Players become frustrated. If you check every forum threads (official + steam), most of them are complaining ones.

In other games, it's not like this. The community has had enough... If devs don't fix what is ruining the game (unbalance for the most part), players will quit.

  • @SasukeKun said:

    BHVR's silence regarding survivor-sided balancing

The game is widely regarded to be Survivor sided by many people for a long time now. Why hasn't BHVR addressed this?

And moreover, why haven't they even tried to *deny* it?

It seems like they are avoiding the subject of the Survivor-sided balancing completely. Why?

I'm not out here calling conspiracy theories, but this is honestly really suspicious. The game has been in this state for a long time. Most recently they even nerfed Thanatophobia after saying they were going to buff it. They were so conservative with the changes. Why?

Many killers are significantly better than others too, to a very obvious extent. Just look at the difference between Spirit and Legion, or Oni and Clown. Why won't BHVR buff the weaker killers? Why won't they make the game harder for survivors?

And again - why do they avoid all communication on this topic every time it's discussed?

EDIT: someone else mentioned these things not me but are great points imo

not to mention the camo $$$ cosmetics

Every killers have a kill rate above 60% in red ranks. Most of them has a killrate higher than 70%.

Stats take in account console killers that are terrible.

What are you talking about exactly ?

I see some guys answered that stats are irrevelant lol... How is it possible to deny the validity of those stats, it's beyond me... You know it's like ######### that say the covid is like a flue, you guys have exactly the same IQ.

Stats are stats. If the game was balanced, it should be 2k/2e per game, based on thousands of matches. It's not the case, the game is killer sided by a fair amount. If you don't know how stats can reveal such a thing, go back to school and do maths to understand how accurate are the stats when the population studied is big.

In our case, the population studied is really, really big.

Let's say that the stats showed above must represents 10 million games and that we gathered datas from 5000 games, the error margin is 1%. If the datas are gathered from more than 5000 games, the error margin is under 1%.

So stop it with spamming "stats mean nothing".

When the population is big enough, stats mean everything whatever the study theme. PERIOD

  • @MadLordJack said:

I'm sorry, but gen speeds isn't counterplay. And that's what all his counterplay boils down to: genrush the bastard because he can't do anything about it.

The chase is one of the only reasons DbD is even played. Killers that completely dominate aren't good for the games health. It's one of the reasons I love Blight so much: I win the chase if I'm better at chasing and can outhink and outplay the survivor, not because I'm a good aim and negate all else by virtue of bang-chain-smack. I mained Slinger til Blight's release, by the way, so I do know what I'm talking about. As fun as he is to play, he isn't fun to play against because there really isn't any interactivity or chance to show off any form of skill. If the killer is within about 9m and they are a decent shot, you literally cannot do a thing except avoid that situation in the first place, which is unreasonable. Dodge behind a tree? I'm gonna shoot you. Drop a pallet? I'm gonna break it and shoot you, or play the tile and shoot you. Hold W? Bang.

The only counterplay to Slinger is using a macro to break the chain in two seconds. Which is both cheating and stupid.

    Totally agree with you.

A killer should be rewarded a kill when he has enough skill/brain to outplay you during chases, not because he has capacity/add ons that break every ways the survivors have to survive.

    Killers that don't require skill/brain :

    • Gunslinger
    • Clown
    • Hag
    • PH
    • Plague
    • Spirit
    • Freddy
    • Doctor

All those killers that slow you down way too much for a way too long time or that are way too efficient in chases have nothing to do in this game.

The base game was a killer running after survivors, now all the killers listed don't need to run, they have everything they need to kill you without using skill or brain. Put a trap, insta TP hit, free down, put a snare, free down, put a bottle to slow the survivor, free down, use your power to grab or long range the survivor, free down.

Honestly i don't know what the devs have in their head... I also play killer, played some PH/Gunslinger, the only game where i don't 3k+ is when i get gen rushed.

Gen rushing is a massive problem, but creating artificial ways to make the chases shorter that don't involve the use of a brain or to develop some skills is bad game design, plain and simple.

If devs are not competent enough to balance their game to make it fair with skill requirement, then hire some game designers.

    • Creating the killers/reworks listed above
    • Creating unsafe (useless) loops
    • Implementing aim-assist for killers on PC
    • Adding the pallet bodyblock with the killer body
    • Creating totally dead zone on the maps where there is literally no pallets on 1 quarter of the map
    • Puting some hooks 5 meters away from other hooks

All those things are just artificial ways to counter a really bad game design. Sad.

How to counter gen rushing ? Add objectives that requires 3 survivors to be done for exemple... well sad, developpers had a good idea but can't improve it. 4 Years out and we still have the gen rush problem and the same 5 generators that need to be completed to open the doors. 4 Years, nothing new.

  • @MeltingPenguins said:

I don't play for long, started shortly before the 4th anniversary.

But since the last rank reset (not even since crossplay) I see such a massive drop in people's decency, especially on killer side.

camping, tunneling, noed and general scumminess are rampant, regardless of rank. Like, between the end of the anniversary and the latest rank reset it was maybe 1 in 6-9 killers that was just obnoxious.

now it's... every match. maybe 1 in 20-40 has a decent and fair-ish killer.

Worst bit? Something I loved before was when more than one person brings a BP boost for everyone (streamers or cake) many people silently agreed it's time to farm.

this time with the petals? Nothing. in fact, it seems a lot of killers see it as an invitation to play extra scummy, as if someone brought the petals to help them and only them to more bloodpoints.

Yup, for me (Europe Region), it has been like this for 3 months now... Devs have been warned 3 months ago by many EU players on this forum.

What did they do ? A survey about performances/framerates, a survey about quality of life and releasing skins.

3 Months - 500 hours of work per salary - around 8 millions dollars earned (calculate from the year earnings of the company).

0 rework idea, 0 information about performances hotfix (at least not much), 0 info on new gameplay mechanics to avoid the camping/tunneling problem etc... BUT dozens of skins. Take your wallet and buy skins... It's the way i feel.

Where does our money go ? Who knows...

For some times now all my posts on this forum are negativ but i think i'm clearly unbiased about the state of the game. If BHVR starts to make a step in the right direction, my posts will be more positive but for now, it's terrible (only the maps rework + blight are good).

  • Around 2.5 millions $/week. 🤣

And they can't optimize their game, balance it properly and release better event contents.

    Who doesn't feel swindled ?

Some of my friends are raging about some aspects of this game (balance, hitboxes, no server hit validation, framerate issues etc...) and still they can't stop buying skins. It's exactly as you say it, it's like an addiction, buying every skins when they are out.

They have spent hundreds and hundreds dollars in this game buying crap... They don't even realise it, i guess if we would calaculate the amount of money they put in this game the last two years, it would be around 1000 bucks...

I've played virtually 100% killer for the last year, and just started getting back into (solo) survivor.

I simply can't believe how relaxing it is. If I escape, I feel great every single time. If I don't, I can blame my teammates. Any time I escape the killer, or can lead them on a semi-long chase, I feel like I've accomplished something. To clarify, I am a TERRIBLE survivor and still get caught often, but I can still smile afterward if I did even one small thing right.

As a killer, I'm constantly filled with rage (even on 4Ks). There is constant stress and a constant ticking clock as gens blow left and right. All mistakes are 100% my fault, and I'm trolled again and again by god loopers.

The last few days have been like a tropical vacation after a grim, thankless killer workload. Killer mains, I highly recommend this as restorative therapy if you are in the same position as me.

Ok and ? What do you want ? Killer has to chase 4 survivors. When not in chase, survivors have to do gens.

It's the game concept, you don't like it ? Uninstall.

Those threads on this forum, seriously. Your message is totally nonsense, hope you see it...

    #BuffNurse

Please BHVR she's the worst killer in the game :(

She is the best killer or at least top 3 but she is the hardest to be good at, by a far amount, the skill gap is huge but a good nurse will 4k every game.

Console and PC game with FPS view and needing good aim (Dbd as a nurse, huntress, gunslinger etc...) can't be balanced the same way.

Consoles need their own balance solution and PC anotehr balance model.

Sure, crossplay couldn't work like this but we didn't ask for it...

  • @MusicNerd_TC said:

Buff nurse, she's the weakest killer in the game according to stats. Give her 5 blinks base.

Nurse on console is unplayable, you can add blink it won't change the stats as on console it's too hard to hit with her.

So either devs rework her that she is playable with a gamepad, either she will stick with this bad kill rate. However, on PC i guess she has a high kill rate.

  • image.png

New stats showed just now during the stream.

Red ranks but taking in account console killers that are clearly limited with their input devices. Same stats only on PC would show way higher kill rate, especially for nurse/huntress/gunslinger.

Global average 68%. I assume PC only would be higher than that.

    Survivor sided ?

  • When the game will be a too many perks, too many killers, too many unbalanced features fest, it will die.

And look out the current game state, we are pretty close to this. Also, look at the forum today, there are many threads from unhappy players that don't understand the developpers choices and mutism.

So ye, if the devs still continue this way, it will die pretty soon.

  • @Geondp said:

Have they even acknowledged anywhere that they understand its going on ?

I have been looking but NOwhere do I see that they even think it's a problem. That is worse then the problem existing at all, please talk to your "community". That's why you have so many FOG WHISPERS / community managers etc. A simple " We know we messed up and are working to fix it" would go a LONG LONG way

In the last stream, devs have said that the fps issue is mainly for players playing in 2k/4k lol...

While players playing in those resolutions have a 2080Ti that has a 50% usage...

Lol, this problem doesn't come from ultra HD but it looks like they don't even know what they are talking about...

Why don't they hire a small team of developpers t hat know how to use the engine and to optimise games with it ?

  • @Slashstreetboy

Ok, so as i guess some of you on this forum have never done statistics in their life, cause you think you are smart copy pasting some comments or joking about statistics being badly used, i will explain it to you and then you will google search to find out how right i am about thoses statistics.

So, let's state "what are those stats ?" first : "It's taking statistics from challenges that ONLY require kills on the killer side or escapes on the survivor side to complete the challenge." It means these are try hard game from one side or the other or both.

Ok, now you have the context, so let's do some mathematics. It will be hard for some of you i know, playing all day long doesn't give you mathematics skills. Anyway let's try, here it comes.

    • In mathematics, we can consider that statistcis are accurate when the population is big enough. So the population of players that participate in the different challenges throughout the different rifts is 2.7 millions players while the average max players per day is 40k (steam only), let's say 200k max all platform considered.

During the rift, we can also postulate that most of players have had an active challenge and played the kill/survived challenges. Here again, if the population were around 500 i would tell you it's not accurate but as the population was near 3 millions, any extra "rare" event that could dramatically change the stats (suicide on hook, DC etc...) is negated and insignificant.

With those informations, you can now see where i'm coming. There have been a 86.6% kill rate ratio during the rift (active challenge only). It's close enough compared to the official stats we had end of 2019 (70/75% kill rate in red ranks).

So yes, i assume that the fact that a challenge had to be active to be recorded changed those stats but still, the game is clearly killer sided, taking those "broken not so broken stats" or taking the official end-2019 stats. Moreover, if every games that had a survive and/or kill challenge active have been recorded, the stats are pretty accurate, way more than the one provided end-2019. And if the stats include every game with an active challenge (any challenge) they are way more accurate !

I know some of you haven't understand what i have wrote, and i also know that some of you can't give argument so you are just crying and copy/pasting things you don't understand.

So all those guys, replying crap without any clue of what they are talking about, you are invited to stop polluting this thread with your non sense. If you are bad unskilled killers, improve and get good. The friends i play with are 50/50 survivor/killer and in red ranks they succeed to get 3k+ every game. From time to time they will struggle but it's like 1 game out of 20.

Others that are educated and are able to argue with a good rethoric, i invite you to continue the discussion and to change my mind.

    image.png

And when i read this, i udnerstand it like this :

In order to complete challenges (any challenge, i.e doing gens, escaping, cleansing totem or running with the killer) there have been....

To my mind every games with an active challenge have been recorded, these are global stats.

Only the games without any challenge selected (both killer and survivors side) were not recorded.

I don't think that the developpers have had the time to gather stats from specific event like "escape as ACE", doing excel spreadshit to gather all the specific datas, it makes no sense and would take hours for no benefits.

Anyway, as those stats are not clear, we can stil lrely on end-2019 stats that clearly shows the killer sided aspect of the game. Last months, the way killers are playing has changed, there are much much more camping and tunneling killers, and killing the 1st surv fast open the way to an ez 3k minimum. So maybe the kill rate is higher now. We won't know till the developpers don't release official stats.

But from experience, when developpers decide to stop releasing stats about something in a game, it means it's broken :

    • DICE/EA refusing to share playerbase numbers in BFV and Battlefront 2
    • Turtle Rock refusing to share playerbase numbers for Evolve and then balance stats aswell
    • InfinityWards refusing to clearly communicate about cheating in Warzone
    • Riot refusing to communicate about cheating in Valorant and refusing to share Vanguard anti cheat efficiency stats

etc... So i don't know what's going on with BHVR, but more transparency would be welcome.

  • My bad then if the stats are not what i thought they were.

But still, these exists and are pretty close :

Stats are back at last! We've taken some time to gather some data and make some fancy graphs for your viewing pleasure. Be sure to let us know if you'd like to see more regular stat releases in the future! Since it has been a while since we last shared stats, these graphs show data from the past three months unless otherwise stated. Please keep in mind that numbers are not everything; there are a whole bunch of factors that could influence these numbers.

Note: If you're having trouble viewing the charts, clicking on them will open a larger version.

    Killer power vs. popularity

Starting off with how frequently killers are played compared to how well they tend to do on average. A 50% kill rate would be the equivalent of two survivors dying and two survivors escaping.

    Mid-chapter 3.3.0: Outcome

The Nurse was changed in the last mid-chapter patch, and we've been keeping an eye on her performance since then. Below, we've listed her performance on PC before and after the changes, both in all ranks and in red ranks. Like the charts above, the numbers shown here are her kill rates (where 50% means two survivors escape and two die).

Dude you can say its not okay and I agree its a scummy way to play but just because its scummy doesn't mean it is or should be a bannable offense. Its like saying camping in cod should be bannable cause no one likes it when you do it.

You get a point BUT, camping and tunneling for the killer is a "strategy" as the pro esport devs say so why camping and staying hidden is not a strategy for the survivors ? Why do they have ravens flying around when thery stay too long at the same place ?

Ye, so for one side it's a strategy and for the other side it's not and it's punished.

Who is the smart guy thinking about all those mechanics seriously lol... i would like to have a discussion with him/her, might be funny af.

  • @azame said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/197407/high-ping-killers

I said the exact same thing. Why did they add dedicated servers if it is still going to have p2p coding. Why does the killer have hit priority.

Ye and devs look happy with the state of the game lol...

I don't know if they are playing their games, i mean, with random killers.

This game relies on timing 100% of the time... How can you play it if the killer has the priority in everything whatever the ping he/she has ?

I guess the development team has not what it gets to improve the game. They are slow at changing things that need to be changed. They lack skills in coding (they assume it, even during their stream).

Well in a company, when a project becomes big enough, yo uget rid of ppl that lack the skills to bring it higher or you send them back to IT training...

Dofus for exemple, they started the project being 4 coders and then, the game became really big, they hired hundreds of ppl...

BHVR, you have to bring more competent game coders & game designers in your team. The game is a mess atm, it's unbalanced, unoptimized (on the easiest game engine on earth) and the netcode is the worst in the multiplayer game industry, right next to COD... I don't know what you are waiting for, you earn millions of $ every month, what's wrong with the way you manage your company ?

Well lets make this quick unlike my 3 other tries to type this

Anyone who plays this game often and is in the community knows behaviour favors the survivor's words more then killer and for that I say it's not right but it is way more fair then if they favored killer since well killers won't complain about their killer being op all they would have to do is complain about a survivor perk that counters their ability like calm sprit against doctor and then it would kill the survivors ability to have a fighting chance but when behavior favors survivor it hasn't killed the game and I don't see it happening anytime soon

Conclusion I suck at ending these things but instead of going crazy in the comments talk about this like civilized humans because I want to hear what you think and hear your criticism but please don't be too hard on eachother this is just for conversation

Edit: made it easier to read

You might be really new to the game to say this. So for your information, here are the big changes that happened in the game :

    • devs made a change to the number of pallets, there are less pallets now
    • devs changed the way the pallets work, no "void" anymore
    • hits are still killer sided
    • "infinites" have been removed
    • all survivor's items have been nerfed : falshlight ,heal kit and tool box
    • flashlight saves nerfed with the speed of the killer's "taking up" the downed survivor
    • DS nerfed, DH never work, unhook invincibility never works
    • Maps got nerfed and became smaller
    • New map variations are killer sided
    • New maps are often killer sided
    • unsafe loops have been implemented
    • one shot addons still existing

Well i could continue but the list is way too long...

You Literally just said what the counterplay is, GEN RUSHING. Plus lets not forget that bt, ds, and Unbreakable are in the game too. If its bubba or something though then just do gens and leave if your smart with your time and the survivor actually struggles the whole time not too mention if it took the killer some time to down them in the first place you'll have at the bare minimum 3 gens done by the time the first survivor dies with likely minimal pallets used, and then the last person can just easily just use as many resources as they want while the other 2 finish the last 2 gens and your badically home free with a 3 out, you win ggez.

Counterplay is gen rushing, it's great for SWF.

If you have 4 SoloQ, the game is still ruined for 1 survivor so no it's not ok.

  • @TheCoolDBDGamer said:

Nerf SWF's Devs Please, It's unfair for the solo Killer to face 4-man survive with friends with Discord Communication as Killers need to have fun too.

A top-tier Killer who can pretty much only m1 is useless against a communicated 4-man SWF with Discord.

At red ranks all you face is discord swf and it is annoying and extremely frustrating to play against, especially as a good Killer.

    Also fix the generator speeds.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0E8c833r41U&ab_channel=SpaceCoconut

Lol in red ranks, facing SWF is not "all the time". SWF might be 10% of your games.

You mainly face duoQ or soloQ. Just get gud.

I play killer myself and you can clearly 3k almost every game in red ranks. Sure when you will face a decent SWF you will get rekt and get 1K, maybe 2K if you have played well but then, most of the games are winnable as a killer.

you really hate that game are you? Saying it was bad when it really wasn't, it wasn't the best game ever but saying it was bad is being dishonest.

To return to the topic, Dbd was not the bestgame of it's genre, but now it's the only one that has not been left to die and have a good playerbase simple as that and if you add the licensing (wich by the way have make the game what it is, that's why the dev won't stop doing dlc) well they just here to stay.

And while dbd as some quality that most of asymmetrical game can only dream to have, the semi-monopoly they have is hurting the game in the long run, just look at steam before epic game store, almost dead competition and the few competitor that could be serious were far behind (even you gog), so they were staying on what they acquired. But then epic came and boom, big update that the community where asking for years and better policy for costumers and developers (and a new game + big update for l4d). Dbd need a big competition so it can improve, or at least improve at a better rate (if you think the game is ""improving"" since everyone disagree on that).

Right now the dev will stay on what works now, and since they are the only one who work in the genre, well they will do the vicious cycle of questionable decision couple with overprice cosmetics.

And don't get me wrong they do good stuff, but focusing the balance problem they have for years + the ""100"" (exaggerate) of bugs, on a small portion of team just because they have ""more employees now"" is stupid , especially with all that """manpower""" the could do a big health update with ton of cosmetic to celebrate the update everyone wants.

SO in short yes Dbd need better competition, done by a big company to challenge and make them surpass them self, it's better for everyone really and remember, for those who want to see dbd die, the only thing that can kill dbd is behavior no one else. And i don't think they will.

Couldn't say it better. You are 100% right.

Even during their Q&A we see that they don't really care about the community feedback. At every important questions, their answers is :

    • not on our radar
    • we are thinking about it

Every small changes they make, they are like "it will change everything, it's awesome" while the community didn't ask for this change or at least when this change was not urgent.

When you do a Q&A, come with concrete elements, answer the questions and give a timeline with a clear roadmap.

I want an ETA for :

    • Hit server validation
    • Detailed fixes for balance issues
    • Optimization updates and what to expect in term of framerates
    • Release date for the graphic reworks

Etc... I don't care about waffle crap. I want to know where the game is going and WHEN, clearly.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1657396#Comment_1657396

Yes, studying physics you need to know statistics.

You don't have any data regarding the number of DCs, suicides, AFK killers, and free escapes/kills, so you can't say whether or not they're negligible. I see at least one DC every 5 trials, for example, but that may or may not be representative of the whole.

You are right, i don't have any data but i'm playing a lot in SoloQ and i see how players behave. DC and suicide are really rare. I don't say it's 1% but it's between 5/10%, not more.

Killer that give a free escape to the survivors or to the last one are really really rare in red ranks.

    Speaking from EU servers.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1657339#Comment_1657339

That's not an average, that's a median. It also doesn't take into account nuances like players DCing, giving up, or taking pity on the other side.

I assume you did some statistics at school.

One rule in statistics is that if the number of the population is big enough, all rare occurations (events) are negligible...

As the study is during 1 month, the population is really, really huge, so we can assume that DC/Suicide on hooks and free escape are negligible, especially in red ranks. DC is like 1 game out of 15/20, suicide on hook same.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1657298#Comment_1657298

There are many other factors to take into account besides the average kill rate. You can't look at one stat and say that it determines the entire game's balance.

Well it does. If DBD was balanced, most of the games should end up being 2K/2E.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1657266#Comment_1657266

That's not what she said, she said it was in the best state since release.

Kill rate was lower (but still acceptable) during the clown update. The game was way more balanced.

  • @Mandy said:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/4MC3CUOOMICR/uqfclbx-5b1-5d.png

Fangirl or not, the fact that DbD has survived when these games haven't, implies completely that DbD is the better game - your opinion of the other games says it all really.

I've played this game since Beta, seen many, many changes - I personally think the balance of this game is in the best state it has been since release.

If you call "killers have a 70% kill rate" balanced then ok but we clearly don't have the same definition of a "balanced game" then.

Especially when red rank killers are most of the time really bad in chase/map control and they just win cause it's ez when not against SWF.

  • @Mandy said:

And yet there's been other games whilst DbD has been in existence that haven't lasted the distance, The Last Year, Hide or Die, RE Resistance, as well as Friday 13th of course.

So whilst you might think there's no competition, there is in fact plenty of competition.

"Fanboy" (well girl i guess) comment lol... and clearly lack of objectivity here.

There haven't been any decent competition, all the games you have listed are crap. It's like compairing a Boeing 737 and a light aircraft and saying that those ones have not succeed to embark 150 passengers...

Also, Evolve was a far better asymetrical game and got backslashed hardly by the video game press and then by gamers only for its lack of content at release while there was way more maps and better teamplay mechanics than in DbD. So some average games works while some great games die.

Concerning Dbd, many things have been done right (new killer licence, new maps, graphical update, server side hit validation on the way for exemple) and many other things have been done completely wrong.

    • The game is totally unbalanced. Against SWF, killers have a really hard time, against soloQ team, killers have ez wins.
    • Rank system is crap, too easy to rank up, everyday i see red rank survs/killers that are totally noobs and have nothing to do in high level of play. We are still waiting for a MMR system --> 4 years =)
    • There are way too many perks, most of them are useless, many should be removed.
    • Builds variety SHOULD be important in a team. There should be 2 pools of perks : one that all 4 survivors can equip in the team (Iron Will, Urban Evasion, Sprint Burst etc...) and another one where only 1 or 2 survivors max per quatuor can equip (DS, DH, unbreakable, We will make it, empathy, self care, unbreakable etc...).

Then you could hardly buff some of them : perks that favors healing should give really fast healing (empathy should be 200% healing speed, we will make it should be instant heal when you unhook etc...), perks that favors survivability should work better and be reworked, especially DS and DH etc... It will force survivors to have different builds, bring playstyle variety in every game as all 4 survivors won't be able to play the same way.

And even with big buffs, those perks wouldn't be as toxic as today beacause only 1 or 2 survivors would have them equiped. Teamplay possibilities would be awesome...

It would also nerf the communication in SWF because just saying "killer's on me" would be enough anymore, healers will have to stop doing gens to heal/unhook, healers would have to be immersed to stay alive while high survivability survivors would have to taunt the killer etc... Killer will also have more strategic choices.

    • Optimization is terrible. Game doesn't run well and for such a big playerbase game, optimization should be the priority number 1.
    • Some killers need to be nerfed : nurse learning curve is too high, she has to be easier to master but then she needs a nerf as when mastered, she is way too strong. Spirit is ok as she is but Stridor Spirit is a way too OP combo, so i guess Stridor should be removed.
    • Server side hit validation is a good thing but devs are too slow to release it.
    • Some killers rework are out of balance, PH in PTB is crazy strong for exemple...

See, there are many ways to improve the game and many problems have to be fixed. It is impossible that devs are happy with the current state of the game as we are not. I'm curious to see the satisfaction survey results...

Next chapter can be delayed for 2 months and devs should work on a "health operation" to clean everything and start on a better (if not greater) basis.

Oh and to know my DbD history : playing it since 2017. High skilled, red rank survivor with most of my games being soloQ. Finishing with the most points in most of my games. Favoring the team, able to hold a killer for a long time, sometimes failing.

As a killer, 3k to 4king almost everytime when i'm not against SWF. Being gen rushed in 4 minutes against SWF, getting 1k to 2k and those games are really frustrating cause totally not fun, nothing happens unless gens popping every 10 seconds.

  • @DeviousDemo said:

So tell me again what is so skillful about gen rushing and abusing safe loops?

    lol

1st : your comment is from an unskilled killer as there is no loop that hasn't a counter. Check on youtube, you will learn ;)

2nd : you have enver played survivor if you think it doesn't require skill to loop properly. Looping is not just about running around a pallet. It's combining the loops togethr to hold the killer longer thus making your way through loops to make them "infinite". You think it's easy ? Try and come back posting here when you will loop as good as Ayrun.

It looks like this forum is just about low skilled killers gathering together to ask surv nerfs, arguing that camping/tunneling is a strategy...

I know for a fact they announced the flashlight changes.

And how is the generator sound a killer buff? I can't hear the gens at all half the time.

It was a buff as with a good headset, you could hear if someone was repairing the gen or not from a great distance.

  • @TheButcher said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/194653/i-love-how-official-communication-in-this-game-is-broken

Every single thing you have listed there was a forum post, and mentioned on the live streams. Is this a bait thread?

Didn't see anything bout the new gen sound, here or on twitter.

For flashlight changes, same. They have mentionned a bug and a fix but it's not fixed.

Freddy's Pallets ? Haven't seen anything and well, developpers say it's a bug while it was not. There was a texture applied on the grey metal plate, it's not like a texture missing or anything like that. Now, fake pallets and normal pallets are exactly the same so it's again a question of lotery for the survivor ? Where is the skill gap and stuff ?

They add too many lotery mechanics, it's dumb for a "competitive videogame" as they call it.

Same, what are they doing about server hit validation ? They said they fixed the problems with the last patch, why is it not activated ?

I don't understand the way they manage their game and communication but it looks like it's a big mess.

  • @ScaryCat said:

Wait, Freddy's fake pallettes are different in color? How? Is it just for Freddy himself or for survivors, too?

Sorry for asking that question first, I just haven't noticed it. Anyway, I agree that ALL the changes that come with new updates should be definitely addressed. People complain a lot and about everything, so there's no need to be afraid of "feedback."

Yes, one plate was grey instead of red. One survivor could loose time breaking them, thus the killer was winning some time. And it was a survivor counter mechanic. Now, you have known, survivors are f*cked.

About the flashlight they have said : "Update aiming when using the flashlight. Up to 4.1.0, the flashlight would aim up and to the right of the center of the screen. In 4.1.0, the aiming animation was updated, which caused the flashlight to aim more towards right of center. Now, the aim should be squarely in the center."

It means that when you aim your flashlight, it should be centered on your screen, which is clearly not the case atm. Many survivors have complained about it on the forum, never get any answer from the devs and/or community managers...

They have a terrible way of communicating with the community.

This new sound has not been implented to make it better or more modern or realism... It's a killer buff that was not announced.

  • @seki23 said:

i think is mandatory to have an option to rec or keep the video that will give players SO MANY NEW OPTIONS, and i bet haackers would decrease because now everyone can record you and send the video proof, the game would be in a much better state... Rocket League for example let you keep the match in video if u want to see int in different perspectives in REAL TIME, i want that i want to send a video of that OR AT LEAST let me record myself seeing that hacker. taht would be so much better and ins MANDATORY because the game has a lot of hackers nowadays and is afecting the health of the game MASSIVELY, it should be TOP need at the moment, every decent game has an option to record or keep the match, why a big game like DBD hasnt? is actually top 15 on steam, why this game doesnt have such an option?. the game keeps increasing in numbers and devs are struggling hard top catch up with important stuff big games need, like really hard also is that expensive to add such a feature? will break the bank account?.

OR .... Devs could improve the anti-cheat system.

Hoping that players report cheaters with a video proving it to fight cheating is a really cheap strategy that won't work... will never work.

There is no perfect anti-cheat program but you can improve it.

But what i see is that there are tons of things to fix in this game, everything is broken and it's out for 4 years. Looks like a BETA...

  • All those perks are good but clearly not enough to prevent gen rush. I got gen rushed with undying/ruin on some maps (4 gens in 3 minutes done)...

The only way to prevent gen rush is to lower the size of the maps.

I mean, all new maps are ok, they are not too big, you can patrol the gens easily and survivors can't gen rush them but some older maps that are 10000m² are way too big, you loose too much time between gens or even between chases.

Devs need to make all maps under 10k m². It's the only way.

But well, as almost every killer is a noob that tunnel and camp, it won't fix the game state anyway...

  • @FFabeq said:

It would make survivor dodge lobbies more so longer queue times

And ? Dodging a pain in the ass killer, who cares ?

A killer main using 100% of the time cheap mechanics will be dodged 100% of the time. Fair enough, they are toxic for so many survivors anyway.

A killer camping and tunneling once in a while won't be reported enough and survivors won't see it but a killer that has 50 pages on steam where it says -rep tunnel/camp should not be able to play the game anymore.

  • @Slickstyles said:

Allow the use of only 2 of the same perks among them. This way, killers don't have to worry about 4 DS, DH, BT, and Unbreakables. Coms is already an incredibly useful tool. It becomes increasingly unfair when they bring 4 of the same perks that erase their mistakes.

Are these teams impossible to beat? Absolutely not. However, you really don't know what kind of team you're facing and I'm typically not the type of person who wants to bring the most broken builds on every single killer on every single game.

We have to admit that there are some killers and killer builds that are very oppressive towards solo quers. If this rule is implemented, it will definitely help to balance the scale a little bit and lessen the need for sweaty killer builds.

    We could go further man.

There should be a common perks pool that can be equipped by every survivors (same for killers).

Character's perks should not be "learnable" by other survivors.

Exemple : if you want sprint burst, you have to play Meg but then you can't use Dead Hard or Unbreakable etc...

    Same for killers.
