Why did they remove the penalties in the first place? I'm gonna guess because of their precious streamers. Seriously. BHVR needs to fire the #########-buddies they hired, and hire some real programmers. This is getting ridiculous.
I guess they removed the penalty cause many, many, way too many players have been banned for D/C. The people i play with have almost all been banned during this period. I guess there were not enough survivors playing anymore 🤣

I am sick and tired of Decisive Strike + Unbreakable Perk Combo always at Red ranks man. As a Killer main I always have to worry about this invulnerability phase all the time. Like bruh every trial I get, I always eat at least 2 decisive strike early out of the fear that they're just gonna use unbreakable or just 99% themselves so to save unbreakable. Even if a Survivor does not have this combo, I'm a red rank killer so my anxiety is always telling me that these good survivors always have a small pp. After eating those D. Strike, I just let get away so I can "Just Pressure Gens" so those Survivors just got a Get out of Jail card for FREE. Well please devs, make it so that in the upcoming balance changes take away these Invincibility Phase Survivor have after getting hooked. I know this game is balanced after casual players and I'm 100% SURE that casuals are not using the small pp combo as offensively as possible SO please nerf.
If you don't tunnel, the DS is then useless for the survivors, unless the last one alive in some circomstances. But however, i have a question for you, how do survivors counter :
- pink mori
- make your choice
- one shot hatchets
- infinite Myers' P3
- haunted ground
etc...
They don't have anything to counter this... =)

The DEV make changes to the game based on actual game statistics, not hurt feelings. In other words, Face Camping isn't a REAL problem. Most Killers grow out of it as it is rarely a productive tactic. Statistically it doesn't affect the actual ratio of games. Game Balance is about game balance, not who is the most annoyed.
When you are playing red rank in Europe and you get a tunneler/camper killer 9 games out of 10, it is affecting the game. I don't think they have statistics about it...
And i'm not the only one getting tunneled, almost every game there is a survivor that is tunneled and camped.

In my country we have a saying the roughly translates in this: "When the insults come from a pathetic nobody, no reason to get mad at it."
And it fits perfectly for my case with you, cya ;)
Lol, posting this twice cause you are in need of attention ? 🤣
But to feel the need to say something like this, your life is surely miserable...
At least, i'm sure you are nowhere near what i have achieved in my young age but anyway, cya , you didn't bring any valuable point on this thread.

Oh? You only see survivors complain?
Nope, but now killers are mainly complainig about SWF.
Well they didn't understand that the only problem in the game atm for them is not SWF, it's map design and i think that fixing map size will fix almost everything for killers. Maps need to be smaller.
Every new maps is under 10000m² and they are great, not too big, not too small. Older maps, the one that are big (>10000m²) are a problem and devs should lower their size.

Facecamping is not reportable and in turn is not bannable. Its not being seen as keeping the game hostage either, since the person is not being held there indefinitely and will die on hook eventually.
I would agree getting facecamped is sucky, but is not against any game rules.
Please refer to the game rules for more information here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules
Validating a way of playing that is toxic for one player, sometimes more as it is possible that a killer will camp/tunnel 2 survivors in a game.
And then the devs ask to be benevolent and to have a positive attitude. I might be too dumb to understand where is the logic in all this.
Gaming is the fact to play games, in "play games" there is play and games, it has to be funny, not toxic.
Also, the developpers are calling this behavior "strategy" while it is a cheap mechanics, even broken mechanic cause you can easily get kills with it, especially aginst soloQ players. All the survivors are asking the devs to remove this camping/tunneling possiblities from the game, for ages now.
Killers have asked for less pallets/windows/safe loops/items nerf/smaller maps/to remove infinite etc... And devs gave them everything to the point survivors had nothnig but continuous nerf at every new patch... Do you call it fair ? Where is it fair ?

Why survivors bring the chase to another survivor that is Working on gen or totem...why do you break free and hurt this new poor sap? You can see that the team already has a sandbagger on board and they gonna struggle on account. Why make matters worse and join in on the bad play?
And I'm only talking about when it's obvious not times where it could be an accident.
For some time now, i'm coming to check this forum everyday and i see more and more survivors complaining about killers's behavior.
Maybe devs will hear the community and do something about it, one day, when they get time, in between 2022 & 2023 seasons...

I've been able to win often enough while playing solo survivor, so I find that to be a big exaggeration.
Nevertheless, swf survivors definitely have unfair advantages over solo survivors, and countering a camping killer is one of those. With a full solo survivor team, until the last survivor has realized that the killers is facecamping, it's already too late for the survivor team to rush through enough gens.
And I honestly don't understand why camping still gets defended so much by some people on these forums.
Though the probably biggest disadvantage for solo survivors right now isn't even related to balancing, it's the matchmaking and rank system.
Killers on this forum continue to defend the camping and tunneling "strat" or mechanics cause they are trash in chase, trash in map control and overall trash in the knowledge of the game design.
The game has been designed around generators, it's the main objectives for both side.
Survivors need to do gens and to hold the killer enough time to escape.
Killer has to protect the generators to prevent the survivors to escape.
Generators placement on the map is not randomly dumb, there are always 3 gens that you can properly defend one next to another. Doing this will give the killer a huge advantage at the end of the game when there is only 1 to 2 generators left to be done.
1st phase must be hard chases and as many hooks as possible.
2nd phase should be defending the gens and getting kills.
But you know, it requires more than 80 IQ to understand that camping/tunneling are a cheap mechanics, to understand how to properly play the game to have fun and to give fun to the other side.
Killers think they are pro cause they got 3k/4k by camping, they think they are high skilled cause they are red ranks. Last months, i have met so few good killers that know how to apply pressure and win games without campnig/tunneling, it's crazy. It's not even 5% of them i think...
A killer that get a kill on a survivor that got hooked only once should not get any extra points. A killer that succeed to get 4k by hooking all survivors only 1 time should get 6k points + some chase points and depipe.
If the developpers want an enjoyable game, they have to punish killers that play like this cause it's not fun and it doesn't help anyone to improve.
Survivors have T-Bag to be toxic, it doesn't ruin the game, some killers just take it personnaly, it's not a good behavior but well it's just a surv crouching...
Killers that camp are ruining the game for everyone. When i play killer, i go away from the hook everytime but ye sometimes i got 2k with 10 hooks, fair enough as i pipe up, and everyone had fun.
A killer that has 0k with 8 hooks should be more rewarded than a killer that has 3k with 5 hooks.

DS + BT + Good looping skills (or good teammates) = Problem solved.
Ye, you surely play at high rank to say this. If you would and if you would play killer you would know how useless those perks are.
Not useless actually but not that strong to prevent tunneling and camping.
BT = if the killer tunnels, you just earn 1 hit.
DS = slugging counters it perfectly
Good looping skill sure but against a good killer it won't last 2 hours... and some killers totally negate looping (PH, nurse, Huntress, Spirit, Clown).

So I've been watching hexy tournament today and as I write this it is still going on. I wanted to ask you guys what are your thoughts on dead by daylight being a tournament style do you think it can be possible or not something to try. I personally thought the points system could be better as I don't understand how 2 points is given for gens, when survivors flew threw them like nothing. Meanwhile killers can get a max of 16 points. ( If my math is right lol). Let me know guys
Dead by Daylight is not a game made for tournament. RNG + unbalance between killers, survivor builds etc... makes it impossible to be competitive.
Moreover, Hexy's tournament rules are so dumb, forcing survivors to play immersive and to let themselves die on hook to get 1 escape... Killers having just 1 point for hooking even if they get a kill...
Well i dunno who made those rules but to my mind, it's not the way the game should be played.

This is just factually not true at all.
I play strictly solo queue and we 3-4e at least 75% of the matches.
Which rank ?
Which server region ?
Without those informations, this kind of answer is useless. It would be like saying that in LoL, top 500 players are awesome.
High Diamond players in EU are better than top 500 USA players on this game... I'm pretty sure the OP is playing on EU servers.

TL;DR: Read the first set of bullet points.
When the game was first released and had only 45 perks, 4 survivors, and 3 killers, the tier system made sense, and it held up for a long while after as well. In addition, the changes which have been made to bloodwebs in the past has made them easier to deal with, but not perfect.
25 survivor perks at 3 tiers each for 4 survivors = 300 total perk purchases to complete survivor loadouts. 20 killer perks at 3 tiers each for 3 killers = 180 total perk purchases to complete killer loadouts. If we assume 4000 bloodpoints per purchase on average (which I'm sure neither is or was entirely accurate, but for the sake of simplicity) that's 1.92 million bloodpoints to purchase all perks, excluding the rest of the bloodwebs. A lot, but reasonable for new players (which everyone was at the time) to get what they want where they want it.
In the current game, there are 23 survivors, 21 killers, 83 survivor perks, and 75 killer perks.
In my experience, the average level 50, 4/2-perk bloodweb seems to cost about 55,000 bloodpoints to complete, and I'm usually pretty good about gaming the entity to take as much of the bloodweb as possible. This equates to 27,500 bloodpoints per perk tier. Since the majority of the bloodpoints of someone trying to max out will be spent on level 50 bloodwebs, I'll use these numbers for calculations; I believe they should suffice at least to serve my point. I'll also round down to 50,000 bloodpoints per web, or 25,000 per perk tier.
23 survivors * 83 survivor perks * 3 tiers = 5,727 perk purchases. At an average of 25,000 bloodpoints per perk purchase, that equates to 143.175 million bloodpoints. 21 killers * 75 killer perks * 3 tiers = 4,725 perk purchases. At an average of 25,000 bloodpoints per perk purchase, that equates to 118.125 million bloodpoints.
To max out all killers and survivors would cost approximately 261.3 million bloodpoints. (Note: these numbers cannot be directly compared to the aforementioned 1.92 million bloodpoint number, as I didn't take into account the cost of the rest of the bloodweb when purchasing perks.) At a maximum of 32,000 bloodpoints per game (excluding offerings and events) one would have to play 8,166 perfect games to earn that many bloodpoints. At a near ABSOLUTE maximum of 230,400 bloodpoints per game (assuming only perfect games, double bloodpoint event and 5 4th year cakes every game, which is extremely unreasonable) that's still 1,134 games.
In my 1546 hours, I've earned a total of 143 million bloodpoints, averaging ~92k/hour. At that rate, it would take me approximately 2841 hours to max out all characters, if I didn't prestige anyone ever. And using OhTofu as an example, he's earned a total of 812 million bloodpoints in nearly 7000 hours of gameplay, averaging 116,000 bloodpoints/hour. This is likely significantly above average, but even so, it would take 2,253 hours at that rate to have earned enough bloodpoints to max out all characters, ignoring prestige. The large majority of the playerbase will never hope to play that many hours, and those who do/can will likely be prestiging characters anyway. And with the DLC train seemingly stopping no time in the near future, this problem will only get worse, not better.
To be clear: I'm not saying everyone should be easily able to have all perks on all characters, but I do not think it should be so far out of the realm of possibility for a casual player to get the perks they want.
There are also other problems with the perk tier system, in my opinion at least. Some perks are almost not worth running at all until you get them to tier 3. Examples are: Autodidact, Iron Will, and (less so, depending on circumstances) Stridor, Blood Warden, Whispers, Lightweight.
And some perks have nearly no discernible gameplay difference between their tiers. Examples: Better Together, Borrowed Time, Breakout, Mettle of Man, Self Care, Devour Hope, No One Escapes Death, Infectious Fright, Lightborn, Monitor & Abuse. If you include the perks which function exactly the same in-game with the only difference being the amount of bonus bloodpoints you receive, this list gets even larger.
Some perks are better in some (or all) situations at tier 1 than at tier 3. Examples: Discordance, Make Your Choice.
Creating perks for a tierless system would also be easier. With the current perk tier system, perks essentially must be based on a number in some aspect in order for it to differ between tiers. Without this restriction, many more perks become possible additions to the game. Many games function just fine with a perk system like this, in which you either have or don't have a perk; there aren't any levels.
So, for a short list of benefits, a tierless perk system would:
- Make it easier for new players to get into the game in its current state
- Significantly open up the possibilities for future perks
- Open up possibilities for reworking perks
- Entirely eliminate the problem of some perks being useless until you buy them 3 times
- Entirely eliminate the problem of some perks having nearly no differences between tiers
- Entirely eliminate the problem of some perks being better at tier 1 than 3
- Make the bloodweb RNG less infuriating without taking away from the game
- Improve overall game health (in my opinion)
That's not to say there are no problems with this system. I'm sure many veteran players may complain that they spent bloodpoints buying something they didn't need to buy / future players won't need to buy. Personally, as someone with 1500+ hours (which I know in the grand scheme of things regarding this game isn't a ton) I wouldn't mind a change like this going into effect, even if it means I spent bloodpoints newer players won't need to spend, as I see it as beneficial for the game and community. I also believe this logic is flawed, as the health of the game should trump all else. However, I don't believe it would be outside the realm of possibility to give all players bonus bloodpoints based on the perks they've purchased. For example, a possible reward system could look like:
- 1500 bloodpoints for each tier 2 perk owned
- 2500 bloodpoints for each tier 3 perk owned
This would result in a maximum compensation amount of 4.77MM (23 survivors * 83 perks * 2500 bloodpoints) + 3.94MM (21 killers * 75 perks * 2500 bloodpoints) = 8.71 million bloodpoints for someone with all tier 3 perks on all characters.
Altogether, I truly believe that getting rid of perk tiers in DbD would be good for the long-term health of the game, and may even be necessary if DLC continues to get released. New players are frequently overwhelmed by the sheer number of perks and the feeling that they may never have the perks they want where they want to in order to experience the game to its fullest.
What are your opinions? Do you think the perk tier system should go? Should it stay? And why?
Never did the maths but now that you put the numbers, it's crazy how big they are... Clearly, ppl able to play 2.5k hours on this game are clearly no-lifer...
I have bought the game end of 2017 and i have 900 hours... Will never get anywhere near to unlock everything.
Atm, i'm playing 30h/week, i would need 5 years to unlock everything prestige 3 at that rate if they don't releas any new perks...

Guys, since the rank reset most of red ranks games are like this. I don't know if you are playing on USA servers or on EU servers but on EU serveurs it's the state of the game. There are tons of threads on the forum complaining about this, many players relate this to the crossplay update (even though even PC players play like this noiw).
Last month (from 13th July to 13th August) it was great, getting everytime great games (still at red rank). But then something happened and killer's behavior has changed, survivors i don't know as i was only playing in SWF.
I have played 140h (from 13th to 13th), so you can't say it's jsut some bad games in a row... it's not some, it's hudnred of games lol.
Sure in between some games were good but it's clearly less than 20%.
@AggressiveFTW So when you soloQ you need DS cause ######### unhook in front of the killer, you need dead hard cause you are tunneled, you need kindred cause dumb survivors don't have awareness of what is happening and are too dumb to "feel" when they have to help or not, and you need self care cause they don't heal you, prefering to go in a closet...
Sry but it's not the way i play the game, it's not hide & seek, it's a team based game as survivors... And no i'm not in 6/10 ranks, it has been 3 years i'm rank 1/2 everytime lol...
Would like to see you playing, really 😂

Even Clown is way above 50% kill rate even if he is clearly underpowered and in dire need of buffs. Thats just goes to show that you can't just blindly look at statistics without context.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOdPwz03eo4
Rank 1 SWF full of great addons and good perks vs Clown TrueTalent.
Result is 2K so it's a draw.
And you say the clown is the weakest killer while he is the most balanced. 🤣
Yes it is stressfull for the killer but a tense game doesn't mean it's unbalanced. When you play killer, you have to accept that you are facing 4 survivors, that there are pallet loops, windows and add-ons/perks. Sure there are really intense moments, sometimes it's frustrating but a competent killer will do good with the clown.
TrueTalent played well against a good SWF, the game was funny to play for both sides & great to watch.
Not to be mean but really learn to play guys, cause your killer buff threads are crap. You are just bad players complaining cause you can't improve. But it's OK, soon there will be the MMR system, if it works, you will face players from your skill level and you will enjoy the game. But then, don't come on the forum to complain because you are not diamond, or master/great master (or whatever they decide to call the ranks)... I see you coming.
Developpers should stop to listen to ppl on this forum as most of them are blind and aren't good enough to speak about balance in the game.
They should ask High skilled streamers.
ps : there are other videos from clown killers getting good results against rank 1 SWF...
Edit : Found this video too.
Remembered the many threads on this forum saying that The Blight is weak.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kI_rEPLcqW4
TrueTalent find the new killer really strong.
Problem in this community is that many players think that because they can't play a killer, it means it is weak. The community is so casual, most of players here haven't achieved anything in esport or in high competitive games... didn't even try, and ask buffs and buffs and buffs till they can get ez win...

Data is data but you are misinterpreting it.
Does this account for SWF?
When survivors suicide on hook?
When the killer gets zero downs all game but then 4k's from a noed?
When the killer gets his first down when the gates are open so the survivors bum rush the hook and all die?
When the game is over so the survivors just troll around and give him free kills because they already won?
Wasn't this data during the times when random low ranks were getting put into red rank games?
Isn't this after the rank reset change that piled "low rank" survivors into red ranks where they shouldn't be?
Wasn't this also after the survivor rank up change that made it too easy to rank up?
These all account for "kills" but the point of the kill data is to try and understand how balanced killers are. None of those "kills" represents balance. A killer that got trashed all game and then 4k's at the end from a NOED looks OP because he 4k'd but he actually got trashed.
That's why you just taking this data at face value in terms of measuring balance is flawed from multiple points.
Does this account for SWF? Yes it does
When survivors suicide on hook? Yes, but it's rare so i don't think it is changing the data on thousand of matches
When the killer gets zero downs all game but then 4k's from a noed? Yes and, it's still 3k+, noed or not he won the game.
When the killer gets his first down when the gates are open so the survivors bum rush the hook and all die? Same, and if so, the killer is incompetent.
When the game is over so the survivors just troll around and give him free kills because they already won? Never happen unless maybe with SWF.
Wasn't this data during the times when random low ranks were getting put into red rank games? Nope, it's before this period.
Isn't this after the rank reset change that piled "low rank" survivors into red ranks where they shouldn't be? Data is on 3 months
Wasn't this also after the survivor rank up change that made it too easy to rank up? It has always been too easy to rank up so i don't know what you are talking about here
Trying to counter statistics just with bad arguments lol... it's sad. Killers are favored, it has been like this for months now. In soloQ, Red rank, i end up being first of my team almost every matches, it's really rare when the killer doesn't get 3k...
It's a casual game, as a killer i rarely go against a strong SWF, survivors usually don't have enough skill to loop... Most of them fall down in less than 30 secs. I play against red rank survivors... not that hard. Some killers are harder to master but once done, ez.

You're also ignoring a plethora of factors that skew that data and make it highly misleading, which is why the devs themselves said not to use it to come to any assumptions. Exactly as you're doing right now.
Datas are what they are, you have the kill/rate ratio in red ranks, DC's are ignored in these datas. What factors do you want to add ? Killers have 3k in most of their games... lol

It is really nice to see players happy about Cross-play and most of the feedback as been very positive.
However, I really do they should have made console players (Xbox & PS4) at least the 60 fps that was promised first. I can’t even imagine what killers on these platforms are doing on maps like: Lery’s, Hawkins, Ormond and Midwhich. I have yet to play on these maps as these maps run like ass, if I am being honest. Add a killer like Demo, Doctor, Hag, Nurse, Pyramid Head, Freddy or Spirit and you get 20-30 fps Max. Getting hit with an attack from the killer that causes a status effect (Sloppy, Hex: Third seal, etc) makes the game lag. Playing as killer and getting bloodlust, makes the game lag as well.
Right now, for me at least, (My opinion) it seems like they rushed out Cross-play to please PC players.
And yes, I know you can disable it. Disabled or not, Optimization should be a priority.
The game is not optimized on PC aswell.
I have a R5 2600 + RTX 2060 + 16 GB 3200 Mhz and high speed SSD
Everything is top notch quality from fans to RAM and motherboard, also, everything is overclocked (2600 @ 4.0 Ghz; 2060 @ 2010 Mhz; RAM timing optimized with RamCalculator; windows 10 fully optimized for gaming, inside the usual settings and inside register)
On some maps, in low quality, i have 85 FPS while my CPU usage is around 25%, max core usage is around 65% and GPU usage is 40%.
I can run every other demanding games in 144fps constant no matter what happens on the screen. Can run BFV on high (with some ultra) @ 100 fps constant without any drops but for Dbd nope, can't.
Some players on i9 + 2080Ti cant even get 100 fps constant in 1440p lol
So i don't even imagine how it runs on PS4 on some maps...

Comical that you don't see the irony... If killers use ez mechanics to win, they are trash, you say. But then also say that the only way for you to have fun is to use ez mechanics (SWF). So, according to you:
Killers ez mech = trash
You ez mech = fun
LMAO
I guess you don't know what is a gameplay mechanic. Playing as a SWF is not a mechanic lol.
For exemple, "Infinite looping" is a mechanic, but they don't exist anymore =).
And yes, globally killers are trash, they know nothing about the game, they are just good at camping and tunneling.
They don't know how to preoperly chase, how to win a mindgame in jungle gym, they don't know what is map control, how to apply pressure etc...
I also play killer and it's way more satisfaying to win when you had good chases and when the pressure/map control you applied drove you to the win instead of tunneling a survivor to get the 1st kill and get everything ez.
But if you don't understand this, you can uninstall the game cause you are just another player bringing much toxicity.

In SoloQ, every single game is like this. Every ######### games.
Developpers, play your damn game and see it yourself how bad the state of the game is with your balance choices.
I didn't have fun and still did 12k, it's crap but well, 'im wondering what was the experience of the two last survivors, do you think they enjoyed the game ?
This evening, i have played like 10 games, 9 have been like this. 9 out of 10 games in red rank on EU server ? And what, developpers smile at the camera when they do a Q&A as if they weren't any problems.
SoloQ & DuoQ are unplayable @ least from 18h to 23h. Then the population changes when it's late.
Edit : played from 20h to 00h30 today. Everything in soloQ, did around 20/25 matches. On all those games, only 4 games were good, every other games were tunneling tunneling & camping saves (on me or on the survivor i have been matched with). After 22h30, games were better, 3 games out of the 4 good ones have been after 22h30.
Killers' ranks went from 4 to 1, most of them were rank 1. None of them were good, they were all trash but once they caught someone, they never left the hook. Gen rush was impossible as the other survivors were trying to be altruistic so i was the only one on gen when i was not the one on the hook.
Killers' behaviors are trash atm at high rank, they are piece of ######### noobs ruining survivors' experience. And developpers continue to give killers more and more OP perks...
I see you coming, for info, i'm way better than the average rank 1 survivor you meet but still in soloQ, it's not enough.
I guess that developpers need to implement a MMR matchmaking, having competent survivors that understood the game meta would help. Those who know when to save, when to do gen and when to take the killer are rare now...
Well BHVR, we understood that it is useless to play survivor if you are not in a SWF. You have now 10 players that will stop to play on their own. Guess that during this chapter more and more survivors will stop, i see more and more DC, 1 game out of 3 has a DC, smelling bad for you, backslash will come soon, i hope so.
Seems like you didn't learn from Deathgarden.
You did a great job so far...
-
Every killer needs to be nerfed.
Not on their abilities, on their shared statistics. They are way too OP, the game is unplaybale at red ranks if you are soloQ. I mean, yes you can still pipe till rank 1 but most of your games won't be fun at all.
Survivors have been nerfed so much that now, in EU at least, killers just camp tunnel and end chase so fast that they can do it without getting gen rushed. Only terrible killers won't be able to do this but average one that know how to end chase will do it to have easy kill without the need to win a mindgame or anything.
Game is fun in SWF and that's all but most of us don't play in SWF, we mostly duoQ or soloQ... I have so many survivor mains that stopped the game because it's not fun anymore... it's crazy.

Sorry for the clickbait title but I want to get my opinion out to see how other people feel about it, and please read what I have to say before you reply.
I have been playing killer since console release on PS4 and consistently make it to rank 1 I would like to consider myself a pretty good killer I can perform well with almost all the killers, I enjoy playing all of them, and my killers I perform best with are The Nightmare, the shape, and the wraith just so you don't jump to conclusions. But to the topic at hand. Well with the introduction of cross play I que into PC players constantly everygame, usually 3-4 every game at my current rank of 5 now I haven't played more than 20 games since this rank reset but I have noticed a trend when I play against PC players, and that's how easy it is to close chase on them. Im still unsure if it's a playstyle thing or latency or what, but I know for a fact it is easier for me to lay down the law on a couple of players than my console plebian brethren. My theory currently is that PC players take sharper turns when they attempt to juke, now that seems like a good thing, but from my point of view it makes it easier to read the survivors, I find PC players very very predictable on average compared to console players. Now when I occasionally play survivor with my friends I find PC killers very difficult to play against but not the survivors. I would love to hear what some people think, maybe from the PC players side. Also PC players will randomly lag out of games for me as both survivor and killer, so take that into consideration that a tenth of players will at some point just drop out of game, this doesn't take away from how quickly I end chase with PC players. Please give feedback, and as always take what I have to say with a grain of salt, I'm not all knowing I'm just a guy that plays a decent amount of killer.
Lol ok... What i can conclude about this crossplay update is that the game now became really really toxic.
Killers are all totally unskilled and then use ez mechanics to win (camping & tunneling), they kill all the fun from the game atm, it is literally impossible to have fun in soloQ, only way to have fun is to play in SWF where those morons can't do ######### cause they are just trash (PC & console)
And then about console surivors... they hide in closet, use urban evasion and take 2 hours to unhook cause they are so scared. Oh and ye, they don't know Borrow time.
Whatever, there won't be any survivors left if developpers don't adress the main issues.

Interesting. I wasn't aware that other countries had different policies. I thought we were all under the same rules. Even so, camping (however you want to define it) has been around since the game was released and it will be here till the game finally shuts down. I'm simply pragmatic about it. On any given day we probably get 1-2 threads added where someone suggests how Camping, Tunneling, and Slugging can be fixed. The answer from the DEV is always the same, i.e. they aren't broken.
Ye, different countries, different culture of gaming or even winning.
I know what i will say next will sound racist for some but it's not.
Russian language players (most of them not 100%) will camp and tunnel as killers and won't help much as survivors. It's the way they play, they try hard and wanna win no matter what, even if we can't call it a gg when they 4K.
I repeat, i like Russia, Russians and even the way they take geo political decisions but i don't like the way most of them play Dead By Daylight, and seeing the number of threads about them when you google it, i'm not the only one... and this for years.
Some other players from other countries are T-Bagging much, others are playing really fair, even if they don't do any kill etc...
Atm, i'm playing killer and try to play as clean as possible without tunneling at least till end game.
The developpers' answer might be what it is but in EU red rank, 3/4 of the games are a terrible experience for survivors. One get tunneled and camped; killers are even stoping chase with an injured survivor to come back to the hook and hit the one that just has been saved etc...
It's terrible, you need to do yoga to absord so much frustration 😂

Here's what the toxic swfs do. 3-4 survivors hide and do not work on any generators at all until they see the killer or their terror radius appear. 10 seconds after the killer leaves, they start working on the generator because the killer has to leave to check other generators since there were no indicators of any survivors there. The problem with this is the killer usually won't find any survivors until the first gen is completed, the killer has essentially done nothing and are basically playing with a 4 gen start. This problem is most noticable on killers with no stealth, mobility, set-up, and detection, e.g. Clown, Cannibal, Legion, and Pyramid Head, and especially on maps with generators that are difficult to patrol, e.g. Ormond and Haddonfield. Asides from running Discordance, there is 0 counterplay to this strategy on the killers I mentioned. At the start of the game, the killer cannot waste time thoroughly searching a generator with 0 indicators of a survivor there because there are 6 other generators survivors can be on. The most the killer can do is glimpse at the generator and leave. Once the killer leaves, 3-4 survivors start working on that generator and the killer won't find survivors at any of the other generators they check.
Man, be ambitious, do a thread about "survivors should start the trial on a hook with 4% chances to unhook themselves". It will save you to use your brain to make your way to the victory... CBA to see all those threads about nerfing more and more survivors when Killers have a 75% kill rate ratio per game.
If you are not in the 70/75% range then the problem is you, not the balance of the game. The game favors killers for months (years ?) now. Stop complaining and L2P.

That's the basic principle. If you're standing there and another surv approaches, you're still camping there.
And as I said. You can stand there for like 10-20 secs. But if you're standing there longer you're absolutely face camping. That's still valid for my suggested approach.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1610385#Comment_1610385
Yeah that's another solution, yet they stopped any approach that aimed to disadvantage campers by remembering them and letting others know so they could dodge them. Which would also suffice IMO. Of course, very skilled killers could falsely be dodged then but then that should not occur because the matchmaking should ensure only matching players are facing each other.
Ye preventing dodging killers that use broken mechanics to win and that are not fun to play and in the same time allowing them to play trash and to give a really bad experience days after days to survivors without any sanction...
I don't understand this, developpers who claim to be benevolent and progressists, but tend to favor trash ppl to play the game.
"Ye go on, you want to destroy survivors evening, go on, you are free to do it".
The problem is real, in red ranks, games after games it's terrible. I'm forcing myself to play more and more killer to give a decent experience to survivors. I'm trying to never tunnel or camp.
-
@Devour_soap said:
Personally i dont think staying near the hook for a lil bit is not that bad but face camping is a big no no
Developpers are aware from the situation for 3 years, they did literally nothing to prevent it, not a single thing.
They don't need to implement anything in the gameplay, just change the fact that survivors cannot see the killer's name in the lobby & add an unique DbD ID for each player.
Once trash killers using cheap mechanics and offering an unfun gameplay to survivor will be dodge 100% of the time, maybe developpers will be able to permaban players that destroy the game and make it so toxic.
There are hundred of killers & survivors that should not be able to play the game.

Let's just all suck together as one...
That didn't come out right.
Played hours and hours in crossplay, i have played with many console survivors, never met one that was decent, all were terrible and totally braindead.
Unhooking in front of the killer without Borrow, not able to loop at all, using pallets for nothing, not doing gens.
PC players are really bad, console players are worst, by a large margin.

His power is not to use around pallet... but ye, need IQ above 100 to understand it.It's used to cross the map and between loops.

If this is happeneing literally every game than the killers you're facing probably notice you're the weakest link on the team and gunning for you. Also no one cares what perks you use.
You don"t play high rank survivor then.
All games are like this at high rank. By all i mean 90% : camping, tunneling.
Almost every game. I'm not the only victim of this gameplay, sometimes it's the ppl i play with.
Killers have no skill at all, they can just camp & tunnel, but hey, when i play soloQ, i see brain dead survivors most of the time. Red rank is a joke and means nothing, 75% of red rank players are trash; totally trash.

Not easy ? When a survivor is on the ground just go to the nearest locker...
I used Legion's perk before, but it doesn't work against red ranks, because they know loop.. they really want you to chase them away !
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1609545#Comment_1609545
Mori ? This kind of game shouldn't even need mori, we should be able to kill the survivors... It would deter SWF !
BBQ ? I explained
Nurse calling ? 28 meters, Spine chill + Terror radius = stop heal
Dragon's grip ? Finish the generator in the nose of the killer, you find it logical in a horror game ? They are not afraid of the killer = it's not a horror game = it's a frustrating game !
Haunted ground ? We all know how "Ruin" perks finish..
Pink one shoort ? Like addon instant heal?
Stridor ? Bugged for me !
Tinkerer ? Even with a good pressure the generators finish in less than 5 minutes.. so this perk is useless with SWF.
Spirit fury ? Loop, loop, windows, loop, windows, loop.. reloop...
Blood favor ? Loops, infinite loop again.. now it's finish
Noed ? Oh yes, the perk that allows to finish the game with two kills maximum ? The easy perk destroyed against SWF, the kind of team that destroys all the totems on the map and prevents NOED from working...
Make your choice ? DS, and more others perks....
Without his perks have lost match after match... We depend on addons, because of many nerves....😑
And still, 70% kille rate for almost all killers in red ranks.
There are not many survivors that know how to make their way between loops.
Everything you can say is proved wrrong with statistics.

I have over 2000 hours of play time, I adapt to new killers well and I am very quick on picking up their playstyle but I can tell already that he is weak. Basic loops counter this guy fairly well, it can be a pain to see scratch Marks and his ability is very touchy with collision boxes. He does not bring anything super unique to the table. I say give it a month before you start seeing people actively calling him weak.
Ok, Boss, you know better than anyone else. What about the youtube video from killer mains that do pretty good with the Blight ?
Maybe they adapt faster than you Bruh

@Jill10230 said:
Spine chill can act on killers, that we know. What I didn't know is that it could act on the speed of the jumping obstacles, and that changes everything!
Already this perk makes the stealth killers at 5€ null and useless. If moreover it gives an advantage on the loops...
36 meters of spotting, how is it possible? It's already complicated to look for survivors in a 200 miles map (I'm talk the news maps, beautiful but big)...
Don't tell me to moonwalk, it's a stroke of luck if you find them, because the teams communicate and there is always a spotter, reason why I can't find anyone once at the generator !
So I ask again, why, why 36 meters, why does this perk become so strong in the chases, and why should the survivors know 36 meters in advance that we are coming? To have time to go more than 50 meters from us? Yes there is the perk of Legion or Billy, but when 4 survivors know loops you can't do anything, they will finish your gen !
Let's stay logical, at least once, stealth killers are useless against this kind of players !
Why not give it a cooldown or something like that ? Like "premonition"..
- Memento Mori
- Chili & BBQ
- Nurse's Calling
- Dragon's grip
- Haunted ground
- Pink one shot add-ons
- Stridor
- Tinkerer
- Spirit Fury
- Blood Favor
- Noed
- Make your choice
I don't see you complaining about this :). All those perks are game breaking for the survivors as they remove the way they have to survive. Some more than others.
Oh and red rank killers have a 70%+ kill rate ratio per game, not your case ? Then get good cause you are surely a bad killer to complain about spine chill.
Game is killer sided.

I'm on mobile so please forgive any errors.
I've been playing blight since he dropped and I can already tell his power and playstyle is weak and annoying.
Reason 1- he is a map dependent killer imo, he bumps into walls and objects waaay to easily. Maps lake the underground laboratory would be a detrimental to him.
Reason 2- his power should allow a slam on first charge not on his second one. Why can't he attack on his first one. Why does it have to be his second?!
Reason 3 - his very low POV makes everything seem like a blur when the ability is active but also makes tracking a huge pain in the butt.
I believe he's gonna need a straight up buff to POV so we can see cause it feels like I'm just playing a very speedy hag or rework his power.
This is my opinion and I would like to hear some feedback on what others would like to improve on this guy.
Killer has been released 4 hours ago and you already do a "weak" thread. Do you see how ridiculous it is ?
When you will get 150 hours of gameplay with him, come back.

These 2 perks seem to be overly strong and used on a majority of survivors. Borrowed time definitely is the worse of the 2, but Adrenaline does have it's OP moments. It should get a similar treatment to Mettle of Man and Decisive Strike that balanced out those perks a bit.
My problem with BT is that it is abused by overly altruistic players who will unhook right in the killer's face. The risk is so little when going for a BT save that most survivors will just jump on the opportunity to rush the unhook. It gets worse when basically every player is running BT and rushes every unhook on the killer. I get how it's meant to counter camping, but it also causes a problem where I can't even leave the vicinity of the hook without having survivors rushing a hook to get a guarenteed safe unhook. For Adrenaline, my main issue is with the speed boost. 5 seconds seems to be a bit long for a speed boost, and not all people even need that boost. There are times when I'm chasing an uninjured survivor and adrenaline just flies them like 20m away from me, putting me back at where I started.
My proposed changes:
Borrowed Time should be a 1 time use. A smart survivor will know how to save their BT until the end if they want a last second escape. It will stop the excessive BT saves throughout the match where everyone is rushing the hook for a free safe unhook.
Adrenaline should have no effect on a fully healthy survivor. A healthy survivor doesn't need a speed boost the size of Texas. If they are in chase they should have a loop or another exhaustion perk to help them out. If a survivor is injured, the speed boost should be lowered to 3 seconds. They are getting healed to full, so why should they also get such distance from the killer. This also applies to survivors on hook after being unhooked. For a downed survivor, it should be the 1 health state and 5 seconds. In that case I understand the excessive speed boost.
I honestly think this could help fix some of the balance that overly favors survivors in this game. What are your thoughts?
Another Killer asking for surv nerfs when red rank killers have a kill rate of 70%+.
Get gud man, just get gud.
-
Oh and guys, forgot to mention it.
We consider a killer has won the game when he has 3k. With the stats we have, the kill rate in red rank is 75%. It means that killer in red rank win almost 100% of the games.
But yes, it's survivor sided lol...
-
@DeeJHansen said:

Maybe because the stats don't match up with their experience?
Then the problem is their lack of skill, not the game balance.
In a given game, if i'm rank platinum and 20% of the playerbase is diamond, it doesn't mean that the game is unbalanced, it means i don't have the diamond level.
Killers saying the game is survivor sided are just bad killers and need to train to improve, i don't care about their experience, only stats matter.
And as a red survivor, it's what i see most of the game, soloQ or SWF, it's 2k+, often 3k.
When there are only 1k or 2k, the killer is really bad at looping and controlling the map when there are 2 gens to go.
-
@SMitchell8 said:
Played both sides and I can safely say that killers have way more **** to deal with. Playing as a survivor, even at mid ranks is a breeze, its 4 v 1. As a killer at midranks, its torture being juked, pallet stunned, looped, ds'd, bodyblocked, teabagged, flashlighted by 4 opponents. I love the challenge and I Still try to improve, but this game is survivor sided, no doubts about it.
And still they get 3k most of the time in red ranks.
You killer mains are sad, you have stats in front of your eyes, it's official and you are still saying bullshit. How is it possible to ignore the stats...
Stats are made with swf & soloQ. SWF lower the kill rate so if we would exclude them from the stats, killer rate would be around 85%.
Really, i don't understand how bad faith you need to be to continue arguing agaisnt stats. Have you done mathematics at school or what ?!

@DetailedDetriment said:
I would genuinely like to know considering many of the factors point towards the game being survivor sided.
1. Perks:
Many good survivor perks can be obtained for free. Adrenaline, Iron Will, and Bond are all free teachables.
Killers on the other hand have the good perks locked behind dlc. Barbecue & Chili, Surveillance, and in the case of PC, Ruin and Monitor.
Survivor is already easy enough that you don't need perks, but then you give them the absolute best perks for free. Killers such as Wraith and Legion will get dominated without perks, but the best perks to run on them are locked behind dlc.
2. Items and offerings:
Survivor: Keys; Styptics (which got buffed); Syringes (which are worse, but still incredibly powerful); BNP; Commodious toolbox; Emergency Med-Kit.
Killer: Ebony and Ivory Mori; Iridescent Brick; Iri Head. That's all.
3. Maps and tile spawns:
Ormond. Coldwind. Autohaven. These three realms tend to be extremely survivor sided. Ormond especially just has pallet after pallet after pallet. The only deadzone that can even exist here is one of the corners with a gen near the small building with stairs.
Now, the killer sided maps are Hawkins, Lery's, and The Game, but even these are only good for stealth killers, Trapper, and Hag. A killer like Nurse is going to have an extremely difficult time on these maps.
Tile spawns would be Cow Tree into Jungle Gym into shack (Coldwind). Safe pallet into safe pallet into main building with two safe pallets into Looping Gym into Safe Pallet into shack (Ormond).
4. Glitches:
You can call me scummy for including glitches, but with how many sound bugs that exist in the game and several safe spots that can be reached, killer is at an unintentional disadvantage. No moaning, no breathing, no footsteps, and no dying noises are some of them. Iron Will, one of the best perks in the game, is bugged to not make you breath at all.
Falling onto the exit gate switch on Midwich so the killer can't get you unless he/she is playing Deathslinger.
There are just far too many issues with the game. They haven't even been fixed even though they've been in the game for months.
I would like to say that I find it quite dumb that the devs can fix pointing and crouching (which should a permanent feature) in a week, but they can't fix the detrimental sound bugs after several months.
Whether it be from perks, consumables, unfair maps, or glitches, this game is far from killer sided.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
I will probably make a follow up to this on the history of things being nerfed.
In red ranks, all killers, ALL have an average of 60%+ kills, majority of them above 70%. It means that they have an average above 2k. Game is killer sided, period.

Strategy (definition by Oxford dictionary): a plan of action or policy designed to achieve a major or overall aim.
where does it say same odds of winning or has a counter in there? oh wait, it doesn't.
here are some things with no counterplay that I doubt you would call OP
Deja Vu
Wake Up
Breakdown
Botany Knowledge
Bitter Murmur
Bloodhound
Brutal Strength
Iron Grasp
We are talking strategy in a video game where both side must have the same odd of winning. But oh wait, i will stop here as i'm surely dealing with someone that doesn't think before writing.

Now I wanna start by saying that I’m not trying hate or bash on umbra because I actually love her and lover her content and in my eyes she’s a very good killer on pc but some people that I’m really close with on Xbox played against her twice in one day around 3 days ago (,yes it was a SWF) and did a good job and managed to get 2 people out on 1 match and 3 on the other. Umbra is a very chill streamer so she didn’t really complain. But this is an example for the people on PC that you guys are escapable and killable. Ever since cross-play came out it’s disgusting how pc players especially the Some TTV streamers bash on console players for being bad. I play on PC as well and it’s safe to say that all platforms play the same way just cause you’re on M&K doesn’t mean crap.
Fact is that we PC players have a certain skill level and most of consoles players we play with are not at our level of skill...
Guys, you are playing urban evasion, self-care... and you hide in corners, half the game you are crouch hidding somewhere...
Not all of you are bad, but clearly, there is a huge skill gap between PC players and consoles players.
It's not about backlashing you, it's not a fantasm from PC players thinking they are pro, it's the way it is, we clearly don't play at the same level.
And i agree with @Thrax, since crossplay has been released, we PC players encounter many survivors that don't help and many killers that only know how to tunnel/camp.

Camping and tunneling have no counterplay unless gen rushing.

Recently I've been seeing a lot of people saying that DBD is not a competitive game, but by definition it is, you are competing against other players to achieve the goals of the side you are playing.
I've also seen people say it's a party game therefore it's not competitive, personally I dont really get how it's a party game, but let's just assume that it is. Party games usually are competitive, Jackbox, Mario Party, etc almost always involve competing against your fellow players.
For a game, to be considered as "competitive", it has to be balanced which is totally not the case.
- too many perks that unbalance the gameplay
- too much disparity between killers
- killer side hit validation, even when they have 100 ping
- wrong hitboxes with hatchets
- tunneling/camping, which is not a fair way to play the game as a killer, is too rewarding
- SWF too strong against almost every killer (unless tier S ones)
- No MMR system
- Unstable servers with ping going from 35 to 100 in the same game even though you have optical fiber
- RNG for many aspect of the map (basement, pallets, pig armory, gens, hatch, doors etc...)
You can go on, this list is not complete... This game is clearly casual.
