Everyone is talking about beast of prey or bloodlust and I'm here thinking which audio bug this is going to cause
-
get corrupt intervention, or ruin/undying, or at the least - pop goes the weasel
What killers are you using and what perks?
-
Yeah hopefully they add some better way of finding generators. Until you've memorized them, you're just 100% lost all the time.
-
He's a bit like a young child that just had too much sugar. Constantly banging around, making noise, interrupting everything, making everyone scream, etc.
I don't mind myself, but I think that's why some people don't like him, he's very disruptive and the skill-checks can be frustrating.
-
Yes this is normal, BHVR just haven't figured out how to do matchmaking. They're working on it now..

Yup, this has already been suggested several times over. However, if you wanted the devs to notice it, you should've posted it in the suggestions section.
you really believe they read that subforum? lol
-
Uh.. this was just as common before crossplay was a thing. This is a thing even in my SWF. I ask what the hell they're doing. They say they don't know.
-
Their excuse is it would "fracture the community"... That's just laughable.
The truth is that they simply can't make a game mode without there being A MILLION different bugs in there. That and it's hard to quantify the profit gained from the mode and it's worth.
-
I guess they had fun? But why did the devs put this stuff in the game? Beats me
-
Don't blame the players, blame the devs. The only way to exploit the ranking system is to purposely lose over and over till your rank is very low and then stomp other low rank players (smurfing).
It's not their fault that the game matches them with killers that are way too new. It's a faulty matchmaking system that's never been good as far as I can tell

Dude, please tell me how to tell when there's a generator nearby on indoor maps. I've been playing for almost 2 years and I don't know.
I do agree with you, though. When I started playing I was surprised by how much info was not communicated to the player. It's partially a stealth game and, on either side, you can be making sounds that give away your position without knowing that those sounds even exist.
I also agree that it feels like the way the game was intended to be played (or, how I presume it was intended, based on the way the features are designed), and the way it's sold to people, is different from what it's actually like. When I first started playing, there was an adjustment period of realizing that it was not really a long game of hide-and-seek where the survivors tried to evade the killer, so much as it was a fast, vicious struggle that happened out in the open and could involve a lot of aggression from both sides.
Similar to certain houses in Haddonfield or Bedham, there's usually lights flickering nearby. Most of the time the flickering light is in the same exact room as a generator. Some of it is also knowing the gen spawns, there's always more gens on the bottom floor of The Game, and certain rooms always have a gen in there (the room with the ladder that goes up and you can vault all the way to the basement?)

Theyre noobs, not babys. They can stand getting their feelings hurt a little. I learned that way, now I'm decent. Everyone starts somewhere
It's not about their feelings, but what people do when they realize they're playing against a novice.

I tell them to imitate me, and I'll explain what I'm doing. Then I'll take them into a custom, play my main against them (nurse), and show them what red ranks is like.
I wish I could do that, but we only had his PS4. I did take over and show him what to do and what to look for and that was kind of helpful, but even I had trouble hitting survivors when I had to use a joystick to move the camera instead of my hand. I have no idea how people can play FPSs on console! lol
-
Some are interesting, some have lost flavor (retribution), and some are just OP (haunted ground)
It is an interesting twist on hex perks though! Would the perk still have tiers?
-
Some people like it. *shrug*

I was coming into this thread expecting something stupid, but honestly this is pretty cool. I can see this being fitted onto a Vampire, that's gone more bat than man -> he uses echolocation and can screech to get a view of nearby objects/survivors.
A killer like that flips the strategies on their head, as well as the graphics for that particular killer.. I'd love it!
-
So just more jump scares? That gets old really fast

Lol talking about DS and BT when most killers tunnel. I'm playing with 3 perks since David.
You, play with undying/ruin/pop/corrupt.
Perfect example of whataboutism

I'm surprised that you didn't recommend pop, ruin, corrupt all together.
When i see those builds means that killers can't win without ruin/undying.
Just now i had a ruin, undying, tinkerer, bbq Freddy at rank 1. Add ons Swing chains, red paint brush and still got a scummy 1k. Imagine him without Freddy and ruin build.

"I'm surprised that you didn't recommend DS, Dead Hard, and Borrowed Time. When I see those builds means that survivors can't win without DS/BT.
Just now I played against survivors with 3 DS, 3 BT, 3 med-kits with addons, and still they lost 1 player. Imagine if they didn't have those items and perks."
The moral of this story is that there will be no scenario where you lose your perks. They'll never be "crutches" because you have never have to use any perks you don't want to. Those perks are obviously not impossible to beat since your team did apparently really well. Sounds like you're really just bragging about beating a player who is not that good...
-
Just wait till you play on The Game....

It seems to me like there taking some feedback and then ignoring the rest completely. For an example we have 1.pig changes for endgame collapse which noone liked (kept most of it, didnt include head traps not working in tr) 2.billy changes ( made a mechanic which noone liked but made it harder to be effected by it)
I honestly dont know what the qualifier rn is for keeping a change or listening to feedback
I think it's safe to assume that they implement most of their suggested changes from feedback internally.

Played a Wraith game last night just to get the daily done. I don't have many perks on him so I figured I'd lose. The survivors brought 3 party streamers so I figured it was a swf, but we'd all get a lot of points so whatever. Gens went flying as expected and only managed to get one sacrifice at the end. Only in the post-game screen did I see they all brought 3 brand-new-parts. And I just laughed, that's got to be the equivalent of bringing red addons and a red mori. Should've brought noed! :)
-
It's depressing that the community has to agree upon things to balance the game because the devs won't.
-
If you guys are new, you've just learned to ignore azame's threads
-
You must be buff from the mental gymnastics you go through every match.
Really though - The Game is like.. the most killer sided map. You should be thankful they gave it to you.
The post-match flaming is typical, and they just wanted to get under your skin. If you give the hatch there's less chance you rank up.. so it makes no sense that you're rank 12 because you DON'T give hatch.

What exactly did Myers do to get E3, hold m2? until he could insta Mori someone lolzzzzz
Uh yeah? He hid perfectly and charged his power. OP is just mad because his teammates screwed up royally and he lost because of it.
-
@BioX said:
"You can play perfectly but because your teammates feed Meyers stalk, you get punished by the level 3"
This is seriously your attempt at an argument? really? honestly?
He played perfectly.. he held M1 for so long and didn't make any skill check mistakes!!! lololol

The matchmaking doesn't get better, trust me. Only you do. Since you're working with limited resources.. I'd recommend running:
NOED, Sloppy Butcher, Whispers, Gearhead or Bitter Murmur. His perks really suck, and you need a wide variety of other perks which takes a lot of $ and time to grind out. For addons, use both reload speed addons.
Also start recording your games. It'll be much easier to see where you went wrong. If you miss 10 shots a game.. there's no coming back. Be patient with your shots, don't be afraid to: fake shots, face-camp, proxy camp, tunnel, slug. There's nothing illegal about those things.

Fun fact: You can edit the game files and actually play as hook.
New killer confirmed!!!

His reload sound is a bit different and (most noticeably) his cancelling bottle throw animation is much more smooth.
I wonder why don't they put all of this cool things on the patch notes, that's what they're there for, so we know everything that has changed.
BHVR is a large company and a lot of employees are constantly adding things to the game like this. I'm guessing this just wasn't documented by accident or just flew under the radar. AFAIK when companies do patch notes they ask each department what they've changed

Seriously that was the only bad thing about Hexy's tournament. Spirit walking around was like living in a nonstop seizure.

When they started citing statistics about OoO I just facepalmed. The escape rate has NOTHING to do with why people hate it. Seriously do they even play their game? Have they NEVER played against a 3-4 man swf with OoO? Have they NEVER played against a mori? Have they NEVER played against a team with a key?
Any rational person who experiences that would immediately think there's something wrong with the game. Imagine if you started a game of Super Smash Bros and one person brought in an item that let him kill your entire stock of lives. And there's no counter to it. #########???
Oh then citing stats again on Legion. A killer could be perfectly balanced yet completely boring to play - do they not get that concept?
I really shouldn't have watched

BHVR has no Quality Assurance Team because if they did no one can be this incompetent and keep their job patch after patch. On PS4 the game is unplayable.
If/when you join the corporate world, you'll be surprised who keeps their job...
-
uhh he would be the best killer? Do you know how easy it is to hit a rush attack?
-
The frustration is part of the game design, there's an interview with Matthieu Cote about it. Basically they want you to feel "arrgh that sucked, I can't wait to get back in the game and try again!!"
Only problem is that sometimes people end up feeling "that sucked, I'm uninstalling". It's a fine line to walk
-
I bet you still won
-
You CAN disable cross-play, did you even google that?
-
The concept of "second chance" makes no sense. That's to imply that if a survivor doesn't make a mistake he will LITERALLY NEVER GET HIT. Seriously? If there was no escape then it'd be just a matter of time before the killer gets everyone, the game is designed for that. It's not always a mistake to get hit.. maybe getting hit a loop early or something, but either way they would've dead-hard'd to extend the chase.

Yes, I did see @Babyyy_Boyy s post. This is not related to him, nor am I challenging him.
A lot of people think DBD is dying, with the constant matchmaking issues, bugs, unbalanced things, and scummy tactics. And through all of this, the player base has stayed strong. It is not dying.
Look at the Xbox 360's orange box. That has tf2 on it, and they never updated it, for 13 years. Nothing at all. You can still boot up the game, and find lobbies. Full lobbies of 8 people on each team. The reason it never died is because the game was perfect, with almost no bugs at all.
What I'm trying to say is, BHVR, please don't let us down. We know you have no competition, and you don't have to try as hard. But for your player base, the people, your fans, listen to us. Try our ideas, fix bugs, please. I don't want this game to die. But if something isn't done, it will soon.
also why is the figma trapper 100 $ man, come on. You know us peasants can't afford that.
Lemme just pour one out for TF2 because that game WAS perfect before valve decided to experiment and turn it (and their other games) into a cash machine.
There's lots of ways to kill a video game, but the fact that DBD has ZERO competition will keep it alive for a long time. Instead of all the fixes and stuff at this point I'd rather have DBD2 - a chance to start clean with the code and the design choices
-
I like how scary it is to play against her
I hate how her power is basically just to proxy camp hooks. So many times I'll have teammates just run around and throw the match in 10 seconds or less. I hate how finnicky the flashlight is with her traps, and how nearly invisible they can be sometimes. Overall.. I'd rather have another killer to play against.
-
This wouldn't nerf SWF as they'd just disable it and continue to use discord..

Fun Fact: On the PTB, Legion's Fatigue cooldown add-ons were changed to say "Fatigue duration" instead of "cooldown"
I'm sure they'll fix that typo in a few years
-
Yeah I've made this suggestion but it's apparently too hard to change some text. Or they don't realize how frustrating this is for new players. Or they just don't care
-
My very first game as a killer was against 2 red rank, a green, and a purple rank.
The matchmaking has always sucked - but as we learned with MMR... it can be much, much worse.
