Very small amount huh? Tell that to people who get hackers almost every game. Not mentioning names but you probably know who they are

Who? in the hundreds of hours in this game I've seen only 1 or 2 hackers (can't remember if i saw a 2nd). Can you compare that to any other pvp game? Their anti-cheat must work

But there will always be hackers. If it was a rampant problem, it would be higher than the UI. Do you really think they'll say "oh this random guy's buddy had a hacker in his game, stop everything and work on this!!"

  • Those changes were still fantastic, but it's no surprise they get over shadowed by.. all of this...

  • Nah I took a break to play PoE. Occasionally post here when I'm bored. This last updated made my desire to play go from 25% to 0%. I'll wait until they've fixed the UI and all(most of) the bugs

  • So we should be grateful that they made things worse? Introduced more bugs than they fixed? Seriously? That clown gas has gotten to you

  • There's some clipping visual glitches when survivors are hodling items and scream

  • I wish there were a few different animations - that either played randomly or at certain events (i.e. clown does a different blood wipe when he hits a survivor that's under the effect of his gas, or any killer has a normal animation and a different one if the attack results in a downed survivor). Could also be a MTX... but I'm not Satan

  • "X has been nerfed more times than Y !!!!"

Completely irrelevant. The game either gets to a more balanced state or less balanced. Something OP becomes more OP or less OP or balanced.

Imagine a perk came out that lets you apply Exposed to all survivors for 200 seconds after you kick a gen. Stupidly broken right? Now imagine they nerf it 15 times, each time reducing the time of exposure. Now it lasts only 45 seconds.

Why would you cry if it gets nerfed again? IT'S STILL BROKEN. It doesn't matter that it was nerfed 15 times, all that matters is the balance NOW

  • M1 survivor -> hunt them with victor -> pick up and hook -> leave victor -> run around till you hear killer instinct -> go back to victor and jump on the survivor -> repeat

  • Play for fun, not bloodpoints. If you don't feel like playing for any reason other than to grind out more perks, then don't play. Seriously this will go a long way to making you happier.

  • mqdefault.jpg

i don't think the devs even know

  • After watching videos with Almo, I have no hope. There might be passionate people at BHVR, but they're not the decision makers.

  • To challenge yourself and enjoy getting better at the game. If you just want to mess around, then you should be able to play a non-ranked game mode

but this will split the playerbase!! :(

True, remember how when all those popular games added game modes and the playerbase was split and the game died in a week? oh right that didn't happen.

  • new build for killer - Tinkerer Ruin Undying BBQ

but really, Iron Will - Diversion - Deception - Dance with Me

What if there is no walls nearby, like in cornfields, and they are running OoO so they are constantly near me. Aside from tunneling, which survivors scream to Holy hell about, there is no way to stop it, and they can still pick up a flashlight from a dead person. Lightborn is fair, it allows you to safely pick up survivors and stops you from having even more chances, doesn't mean it needs a Nerf. I rarely run lightborn in general, it's not a great perk. In my opinion it needs some sort of buff, or to just be left alone. No Nerf is needed. Complain about FD, Lightborn And any other perks, maybe it's you who needs to get good. If you cannot win a chase, why should you get a free get out of jail free because there is no walls nearby for me to face. There is no counter except FD or hyper specific perks to counter survivors things.

my post was a sarcastic paraphrasing of the OP

We're actually crying about Franklin's Demise now? What the actual hell? How entitled can someone be to really think this isn't a waste of a perk slot? What now? We'll be calling out for nerfs on Beast of Prey? Or lightborn?

Lightborn is a perk for players who are scared of survivors blinding them, nothing more. It rewards killers for playing poorly, if you can’t find a way to counter flashlights then I’m sorry, but you need to get good. I no longer bring flashlights into my games, because whenever I do, the killer decides to bring LB. I’ve been playing for maybe 7 hours today, and I’ve played against nearly 13 killers that used this perk, across various (although dominantly red) ranks.

When will the developers nerf this perk? At the very least, you should be able to blind the killler, but lose a certain amount of charges, or lose the ability to use it for a duration of time. That would be preferable to not being able to blind all together. If killers can have power add-ons that survivors can’t counterplay, Iridescent Head and Tombstone for example, why can killers do that to us?

MMR is definitely not switched on

Is that better or worse? I don't know lol

    @Moundshroud

I'm going to submit the same suggestion I do whenever this comes up. You will never be able to get perfect matchmaking. There are too many variables. The best you can do is try to match people with ballpark hours in the game. Not everyone gets good at the same rate, but at least they can't say they didn't have the same opportunity to get good.

Sums it up perfectly. It's baffling that they don't see this

The Undying nerf really made no sense to me at all. Same with the pop nerf a little while back. These perks were good, but not on the level of Ds+Ub.

As my saying goes "Do bones or go home."

It is interesting how Undying SHOULD have changed the meta to "do bones", thus decreasing the overall game time, reducing the gen rush, giving side objectives. But 2 things happened.

    • Survivors didn't adapt - In all the games I played, I was the only one using Detective's Hunch to take out hex perks. I have seen it only a few times when I was a killer, and it was effective.
    • They didn't even need to. Turns out the best counter to ruin/undying was to keep rushing gens. You need to have a good looper, but just spreading out afk-ing on gens still works.

  • Bastion was changed, and there's been constant changes to characters based off of community feedback... not saying that invalidates the article, but just sayin

The one thing I want them to fix; that I don't think is even related to latency- is the fact that if you vault a window and there is a drop you can be hit substantially later than you can be hit from any other window.

Best way I can describe it is that if you vault a window from say the second story of a building; you can still be hit even if you are here for example:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/N8V76M9VNL8C/image.png

It will do this 100% of the time regardless of the connection quality. If you swing you'll hit them well after they have fallen because the game treats it like it's a normal window you are just...on the other side of.

Does the game not move the hitbox until you land? That's pretty funny if so

What do you mean by the killer being "loose" for 16 vs 32 seconds? In theory the killer isn't pressuring the people who are healing, or healing probably isn't the play to begin with. There is the possibility of being interrupted in the second half of the heal, which I mentioned in my comment, but that really shouldn't happen much at all. I'm also not sure why it's important to finish healing before the killer downs another survivor, when the alternative is more gen repair progress by the time the killer downs another survivor.

Loose as in they are chasing other players or kicking gens or moonwalking, etc.

It's important to finish healing faster because if they down another survivor and come to you, you might not have the heal completed in time, and now you're down.

"but that really shouldn't happen at all" But it does. A lot. And that's why it's worse.

  • I hope The Game is updated so new survivors have a better idea of where they're even going!

  • @[Deleted User] said:

32 seconds for one person is no worse than 16 seconds for two people. Unless you get interrupted while healing and downed before you can finish Self Care doesn't waste any time versus healing normally, but it gives you the flexibility to heal without a teammate wherever you'd like. I agree it's a noob trap, but it's definitely not a bad perk.

It is worse than 2 people healing - yes you're both not doing objectives for the same time, but the killer is loose for 16 seconds, not 32. You can more easily finish healing by the time he finds you, or before he finds and downs another survivor - not so with self care

  • Capture.JPG

Just whipped this up.. I don't play with non-brown addons most of the time so I'm not the best judge for this. But I think every killer obviously gets better, and the two that jump out are Huntress and Clown. Clown goes from worst to one of the best with Redhead's Pinkie Finger. Huntress is also obviously top tier with Iridescent Head. Turns out 1 hit kills are good!

Idk if Myers is top tier with addons. A good team can get all the gens done by the time he charges up T3 with both of his iridescent addons.

  • Have you tried playing killer on console? There's a reason there's so many console survivors, it's nearly impossible to play killer on console.

  • @SilentHillOnDvD said:

3 man escape in 6 minutes. All the chases were about 10ish seconds long. I put as much pressure as I could but those gens were flying . I was playing wraith on coal tower with no addons. Can someone tell me why I lost?

BTW I was using sloppy nurse's death bound bamboozle playing hit and run

"I was playing wraith on coal tower with no addons. Can someone tell me why I lost?"

You just did. Perks aren't minor changes like 2% increased kicking speed.. they're massive buffs and at a certain point you need to get the better perks to perform better. It's not rocket science, and working without the addons/perks is just a self-nerf which doesn't prove anything.

  • @Yamaoka said:

Ruin was nerfed/changed/reworked because experienced survivors would hit great skillchecks very frequently nullifying the hex to some degree whereas old Ruin would make matches unplayable for new-ish survivors.

The current version of Ruin has the same effect on new AND experienced survivors as its strength comes down to how frequently the killer manages to interrupt the repairs.

The change was pretty smart in this regard.

Can we copy and paste this response for tomorrow's thread?

  • Instead of tweaking a lot of things and potentially screwing up everything - I suggest we just massively compensate the camped players. Camping is a legit strategy, so says the devs, but do they mean like this? Why does someone walk away with <10k points because they got caught once? They should at least black pip and get a ton of bloodpoints for baiting the killer to camp them.

  • The game won't ever be balanced because of things like this. Why are red addons in the game? Why are you able to bring in a medkit which basically gives you a 5th perk? Why are you able to bring in an exhaustion addon* that nullifies dead hard? Why can you facecamp?

The devs don't want this game to be balanced, they consider it more like Super Smash Bros - it's just a silly party game. Sure enough complaining and they'll change something (moris, keys). But the very nature of the item and addon system makes the game impossible to balance.

@edgarpoop said it best "It's a ranked pvp game with Uno mechanics. Why?"

Like smash, it's up to the community to balance the game, and we're not going to agree on anything.

  • As Killer:

    • 1 beer = I don't care if gens fly, I'm just messing around, not stressing if i miss a skillshot or whatever. Ends up 4k-ing most of the time because I don't tilt
    • drunk = if I secure 1 sacrifice then it's a miracle.

    Survivor:

    • doesn't matter, just sit on gens and fail loops. Skill checks are f-ing annoying, I wish technician stopped the checks so I could just hold M1 and talk with my friends
  • Lot of things, but most annoying is the struggle mechanic

  • Agitation is already the best basement perk.

I think it'd be interesting to instead give survivors MORE time in the basement or more hook states to feed the entity more - however getting a big bonus on your bloodpoints.

  • The most fun thing in the game is the least frustrating - kill your friends

  • After several hundred hours only ran into one, that was invincible - my attacks would go through them and I couldn't interrupt him. They wall/speed hacked through the walls and did the gens very fast.

That's the one that was obvious, it's got to be easy to hide wallhacks or other cheats when you're not obvious. There's info perks, SWF comms, etc that can brush away questions like "how did you know I was coming?"

  • I had a game against Ghostface where I was the only one Exposed and I purposely ran to two different teammates, both hid instead of taking a hit for me. A lot of people don't seem to understand the value of taking aggro away from the killer. After I got unhooked I went into a locker to heal with Inner Strength while (that same teammate who wanted to crouch walk around) kept trying open the door. Once i healed and left he just stood there.

DBD 2 would be an unwise decision. They'll be effectively splitting the player base in two.

If anyone followed that advise then there'd be no sequels at all lol. Imagine telling Valve to not develop CS:GO because there's already CS:S.

Sure the graphics of this game are alright, nothing worth ditching and making DBD2 for - but the bigger issue is the engine. It needs to be rewritten from scratch to avoid these constant bugs. Balance needs sweeping changes that making a new game would allow.

Considering the grind though, a lot of players would be pissed if progression doesn't transfer over.

  • @Xayrlen said:

You do understand that devs already addressed that question many-many times? The reason they never implemented it, because it is easily abused by non-colorblind for their advantage.

How exactly could you abuse it? What color is more recognizable then red?

  • They say it's on but I haven't noticed too much difference.. they might've tweaked it to be more forgiving for the killer? I'm not sure. I've seen streamers with the lowest ping get hit from way too far away.

  • Could be "new" as in "new to him". Harder than getting around the lawsuits is coming up with Jason's powers. He's basically the trapper without bear traps... so trapper with no addons? :)

Thanks for getting it. I thought I was losing my mind.

I see what you mean, but killer hasn't been feared in a long time. The best strategy is to slam gens in the killer's face, and people have been teabagging forever. This is a silly gimmick that I'd expect in a KYF game, it won't be the norm

I actually prefer long challenges to "Complete in One Trial" challenges. Because it's frustrating to come up short. It'd be nice if they had an either/or option. Like 'Chainsaw 20 survivors OR Chainsaw 7 survivors in one trial." Cause when you get 6 in a trial and you aren't good at it, it's super frustrating.

    That's a fantastic idea!

  • If you treat it more like a side-quest instead of an obstacle, you'll find you'll enjoy the rift a lot more. I love it, because it gets me to use different perks, different survivors/killers, and on longer challenges I can just play whatever and even if I get face camped or have a bad match - hey I still made some progress on the challenge.

It's a luck based system. Sometimes you get the exact items you want, other times you get the exact opposite. I don't think it needs to be reviewed. I understand you are upset, but I have all characters maxed and I don't use bbq or wglf, I have 4 perk slots, I have fun.

I had only those 2 perks available - the rest of the perks unlocked were already T3 for me. It wasn't luck as to what would spawn on the bloodweb, there were only those 2 perks to choose from. I wish I had all characters maxed so I could play whatever 4 perks I want

  • @Pythonheir said:

200k? A lot of people find they have to go through a whole 900k to find the one perk they want. Count yourself as lucky.

Sorry I should've been more clear, I had already unlocked all other available perks- so it was just 2 perks total i could get.

  • Because it's fun? It's a game, remember?
