Hackers need to be put up against bots, without them ever knowing it. Otherwise when you ban them, they'll be back with a new account in a day or two.

just put them in a lobby with other hackers. I think Battlefield did that(?) and some other game that was known for this.

    It's always funny :)

  • Only if the background story is that they played a video game and got swatted because the game didn't had any protection...

  • @hiken said:

i see that most people agree with the idea of having one ( as if were any reason to not have it unless you dont want to get spoted haking) how expensive can be adding a rec button for the match? so hard and expensive that is?. (as if they werent milking us enough already with the shop + rifts + massive amount of dlcs)

The problem is that it needs to be implemented in a smart way. you can't just record raw movement data (or input data overall) you also need to verify the data with the server.

If you don't have a very defined replay system, it will cause people to be accused of hacking. And even if the system would be "perfect" it still would take many months to fix the problems. and they have way bigger problems at the moment

  • They haven't said ANYTHING about hackers, not that they see the reports and handle it (i mean i know the reactions, but it would be something). Not that they investigate claims, not even a sentence like "we are aware of the problem but can assure that..." literally nothing

There are a few videos of what dbd would be like in 4k. Can DBD eventually go there please, Devs? I would do / give anything for that to happen. I cannot think of a single legit reason for not making this happen.

Theoretically, not super hard to do. The problem is: The game has to run on 7(?) different sources, PC, Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox one and Xbox X(or whatever consoles are called nowadays). 7th would be the phone but they use a completely different engine and end-code...

Normally, if a game is only centered around consoles, it's way easier, you have one type of hardware, you optimize for it, done (of course it's not THAT easy).

Next, we have switch, it can barely run the game as it is... let's leave it out for now.

PCs are a very special thing, there are so many combinations of hardware it's super hard to test them all, and especially optimize, then we need to remember that certain options could give an advantage:

-less foliage makes survivors easier to spot

    -reflections could give away info

    -shadows, level of detail, etc.

so we can't mess around too much with this. The "easiest" would be to update some textures, and, as much as i want to hate the game, if you compare the game before the visual update and afterward, it looks WAY better.

4k itself is such the amount of pixels itself. The term "4k" is basically just marketing. The game already IS 4k, or even 8k... when you have the right monitor or supersampling...

but i know what you mean, i saw the videos too. The problem: it's a different game, and i don't mean "it wouldn't be the same game" it's literally made with another game-world editor, i just can't remember which it was.

Engines are fragile, every engine. Unreal Engine, super strong, can look super awesome, but not very good for multiplayer per se.

A complete overhaul of that game like that would mean building the game from the ground up. And no one wants to spend the time or resources on that.

  • No System like that is perfect, but it can help with a lot for sure. Even just for training or to make cool youtube videos it would be cool to have something like that. When league had a third party tool (or the implemented) it was always nice to analyze or just rewatch funny situations from another perspective.

Even if it is as ######### as the league on i would be fine. Great idea, will not be made. It doesn't make them enough money.

No Mither is making killer games absolutely miserable when it's abused. Broken status is absolutely broken, the fact that I can hit someone while carrying a survivor and they stand up from the ground ready to unhook said survivor in a instant. I really hope they go down the road of making No Mither a limited use like Hex’s, having 3-4 survivors be able to stand up indefinitely each and having to down 4 of them wastes so much time and they can just stand up again when they please.

sooo... who tells him about unbreakable?

Oh I don't know. Discouraging killers from playing like total jerks is a start. And no, I never said I only want games to go my way. I was making a point as to why its ridiculous to force survivors to stay in a match they don't want to be in. I'm not playing for the killer's amusements at the expense of my misery. I want to have fun. Don't assume things I never said.

What about your teammates? The other survivors? mh? Oh yeah, it's only the killer who is wrong.

Sure... remove the DC penalty and I'll be all for this change. Forcing survivors to stay in a match they don't want to be in is a bad idea by the way.

So you only want games where they are your way in an asymmetrical game? You are delussional. "oh not another ___" *leaves 3 people alone, everyone dcs, noone plays*. How do you think would that be possible at all? I want one person to tell me how to remove it and not break the game for everyone.

pfft, maybe where YOU come from 😒

  • The whole problem is that in the first games you play as killer, even after two weeks of main killer you still won't get the view of the problem.

It starts step by step and only gets worse.

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

How about this idea: Survivors HAVE to destroy the totem no metter what if they want to remove the hex. Not simply just bless it.

Only strong for the new perk of the artist. It doesn't fix the problem that hex have at the moment. The problem is literally that you don't get value out of it anymore, it was already hard before, now you have people looking for them anyways and still can crank out gens super fast. It isn't impossible to kill people, it's just that you run with 3 perks (let's say you have ruin) and you don't even get value.

the games i recorded and timed how long hex:ruin in particular stays up was numbing. More than once you loop someone for 1 gen and they already found it. Trapper is the only one that can protect the hex to a certain degree, but to make essential perks useful shouldn't rely on "hopefully it stays up for longer than 2 minutes" or "i need to play a mediocre killer, just to get value out of this so i don't get steamrolled in the first 3 minutes.

The statement people have is really showing a 1-dimensional view of this situation. The problem is where the game becomes too competitive for its own sake. The game is fun, and balancing a game of this kind is "impossible" like you have to give both sides a chance to win, that's the goal of a game, to "win".

And i could make a whole post about why i actually think the balancing isn't a problem, but the problem is the mechanics that make the game make you feel fatigued. And that should never be a goal of a game.

  • Flashlights are very strong, Wraith can be brought out is power, can disarm hag traps, can extend a "stun" on a pallet (while they break it or actually got stunned), make window vaults more dangerous etc, etc.

I know that some use it to rotate their body a certain way to 360°, some accidentally click or for some reason (maybe bind thing, i remember that one survivor that was super sorry that it wasn't bm, but just trying to 360° me, no idea what they meant).

Many use it as it is a great attention tool, in their opinion. And some just want to bm. I think some do it because they always have done it

  • Ping system (even short range, and w/e give it an audio cue for killers if in certain range) would help a lot. I want to take the rainbow map in the future and see if i can make it more useful (to mark gens/heals/totems etc.) it's more of a meme, but i think the tool isn't used at all at the moment. I literally never saw someone use the ping system of the raindbow map

  • 9/10 time the zombies just get stuck on the map and are useless except you take time (if you have it, and with the actual meta... 'eh) to kill them and "free" them, if the zombies would be a little "smarter" he would get one higher tier for sure, he's fun to play, and terryfiying with his animation when he runs at you, but overall a worse Pyramid head, plague and artist

Most people play the game to have fun, not to feel stress. Playing against such killers as Doctor is not fun for anyone. Every Doctor game is only fun for the killer at the expense of survivors. But instead of reworking the killer to make him well designed the devs just ignore any complaints and force you to play against him as is.

And before you say something like "tHeN doNT pLaY tHe gAme": the game is fun, but some specific aspects of it are not. Doctor and similar annoying killers are an example. The game would be better without them or with them reworked. But implementing a good rework takes time and effort, while turning on a DC penalty does not. Some maps like RPD are also an example: devs don't acknowledge their mistake and force you to swallow the map as is.

It's funny because when people don't want to eat DC penalty, they just suicide on hook, and you can't stop that. Even if you remove the ability to die quickly, people will just run into the killer and go idle. If you ban for AFKs - people will start playing potato style and go down in a second. You can't force people to play a game they don't want to. And yet it all wouldn't be a problem if they just reworked broken or annoying beyond enduring killers and maps. But the devs' philosophy is to force people to play a bad game rather than fixing the game and making it good to stop people wanting to leave.

Every killer you could have said... literally 20 others... and you take a doctor as an example?

    jokes aside:

This game has many aspects that are "unfun" on Survivor AND Killer side.

if a killer dc (for whatever reason) the game is over automatically, you can not play the game without a killer.

If a survivor leaves because i just got a lucky hit on him with, let's say nemesis, and he dc's even if the game just started, what am i supposed to do? I had a bad game, couldn't hit one ability, i was salty, got flashlighted because i wanted to cosplay a moth, i was already tilted for other reasons, no excuses just explanation. Then they literally where better and i snapped and got my deserved 5 minuted penalty. They even wrote on my Profile "baby killer" "haha i called dc" full toxic, which i ofc delete, in already being salty and mad and i don't need a SWF like that.

Every post i read here is either "killer is too strong, please nerf ___" or "survivor unfair, they shouldn't be allowed to escape" it's ######### laughable. I play both sides, and i suck on both equally, i get my fair share of escapes, my fair share of 4k, sometimes easy, sometimes sweaty. Is the game unblanced? HELL YA(!) Does the game has abusable mechanics everyone uses as long as they are on the other side? You can bet your ass off (except everyone in this forum, they all play fair and never camp, tunnel or have DS, DH or any "op" perks with them)

Can we actually have a normal conversation about changes that make sense and not "the game isn't what I want it to be so i want extreme abusable mechanic deleted so only i can have fun in every game".

And no attack towards you by the way, just an overall rant. I get your points, but they seem VERY one-dimensional. I hope you get what i tried to get across at least :'D

I just want that regression isn't stopped by just "tapping" the generator, it's so stupid as kicking itself is literally useless, except when you snowball super hard in the early game. They should need a time of 1-2 seconds for regression to stop. Mid-loop regression-safe is stupid.

We basically have jolt and similar, theoretically, i would include such a mechanic anyways, or some more interactions for survivors instead, but w/e. I applaud the creativity. I still would rather see hex totems rework as they are useless atm. So rather make hex totems not visible all the time (via key or map they are visible as hex) and survivors can still see that there's a hex ofc, but visually they appear as dull totems.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/293287/when-your-a-good-looper

The thing is that every "good" looper needs to have dead hard for some reason, if that perk didn't exist I would gladly take the chase if you are fun.

Lithe, Sprint burst, balanced landing... Every exhaustion perk is strong, Dead hard is just very versatile and basically, everyone thinks it's the best. But personally, I think lithe is WAY better. Looping became such a weird mechanic nowadays. Dead hard often is baitable, like with wraith, just use M2 and they think it's an M1. Most people understand Dead hard wrong i think.

  • Every time i see a dev-stream i see them play survivor, but i don't care for it as they want to be treated like every other streamer, but 'eh

  • @Tremors said:

Same as title, I was just curious. From both perspectives I see Killers constantly giving people hatch or letting multiple Survivors heal+escape if the Killer feels like they played a bit unintentionally mean, the other Survivors screwed that particular team member over or the Survivors played so badly the Killer felt bad about getting a 4K. I do this very often myself, but I have yet to ever see the reverse situation.

Why is that? There's very clearly a lot of lovely people playing this game, so it's weird that this only really shines through when the Killer instigates it and that the absolute best you get from Survivors is them standing directly next to the exit so they can leave instantly when hit.

    because killer bad, NOED op!!!!111!!!!!

something like that maybe? I have this idea for a long time. It doesn't have to be exactly like this, but something to give hex a worth again. Nowadays they are pretty useless

  • @EntitySpawn said:

Not by much, but its god damn infuriating to be disarming a trap and then get sucked into it...

Like I'd ask to fix the latency/desync but I dont see that happening.

As soon as you disarm, you are locked into an animation that prevents that normally, If you have a video for it or anything it would be more useful. It also could have been a bug, personally i never heard of this problem, so that would be interesting to see in action

I'm confident they wanted to keep it purchasable, but the common theory is that netflix refused to renew the license because they want people to use their new gaming service instead.

If they would have been smart, they would have made that when you play on netflix, you get the DLC for free and some special skin or something

Honestly, this is a very though question.

There is a reason why many effects are restricted to perks, and not implemented into the character's base kit directly.

However, if I really had to choose...

A small part of Kindred for Survivors and an even smaller part of current Ruin for killers.

ofc. It's not like it WILL be changed, this question is more to see what people think would be good. I get the point of restricting both sides, but i also ask for a buff on both sides.

  • @Lochnload_exe said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2622154#Comment_2622154

I think honestly the problem for killer is that base regression is so slow, it takes about 4 times as long to fully regress a gen as it takes to fully repair it. Ruin makes this 2x slow. I think that ruin regression should be base kit, but you still have to kick it. Personally giving killers pop and corrupt on top of 4 perks is a tad oppressive. I'd prefer pop because it promotes not camping and going to pressure gens.

For survivor kindred I think should be base purely for the fact it only helps solo queue, SWF don't get any more info than usual. For BT, I think it should be nerfed to about 5 seconds, and the unhooked survivor also loses collision so you can't bodyblock

Yeah i think one thing i hate about regression is that the survivor only needs to "tap" the gen to not regress, they should make it to 1-2 seconds until it stops regressing, you literally can stop regression in mid chase :'D

It would make kicking a gen more useful.

BT is a classic, and someone said DS, which i like, they can also play the Nintendo DS while doing gen xD. But yes, BT as basekit would be accepted from my side :P Maybe make it 7 seconds, it would be more fair i think.

  • @MrCalac123 said:

Survivor deserves half of Kindred as base kit, SoloQ should be able to see what teammates are doing when someone is hooked, at least see whenever a Survivor is within like 40 meters of the person hooked.

For Killer it would have to be Deadlock. Using Deadlock frequently made me realize 2 things, this perk is awesome and if it was basekit it would change almost nothing lol. It just feels really nice to have, gens still fly but it takes the edge off a bit which is nice.

Yeah, kindred i can agree is a smart idea, as it also would help with camping a bit (even if it should still be possible imo)

Deadlock is an interesting idea, i think i don't see it often. At least from what i can tell :D

  • @ChiSoxFan11 said:

On the survivor end, a portion of Kindred -- allowing you to see the other survivors' locations, but not the killer's (regular Kindred could receive a buff to make the perk still worth running in this case). Knowing if someone else is going to get a rescue or not would be a major QOL change to solo survivor play, and it wouldn't help SWF, who are communicating that info anyway.

For killer, some form of watered-down Pop for actual generator regression when kicking a generator, which at the moment is pretty much useless if you don't have a perk tied to it. Nothing that would match the regression you get from having said perks like Pop, but something more substantial than what currently exists. Even having Overcharge as base-kit -- making gen-tapping a thing of the past, and making a gen kick at least require a survivor to hit a tougher (but manageable) skill check before they're able to stop the regression -- would be a nice QOL change. If nothing to help gen regression normally, then some base-kit Corrupt that would block 3 random generators, instead of the ones furthest away, and for a shorter period of time (even 30 seconds would be worthwhile) would be a nice QOL early-game slowdown to allow a killer to at least get across the map to find someone before a gen is ready to finish.

let's say the perks would vanish and go to the base kit. So you wouldn't need them equipped. We ignore the fact if they are survivor perks or killer perks and they would need a new one. That is just a theoretical question anyways :D

  • @BrokenSouI said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/293220/if-you-had-to-choose

Perks I would add NOTHING. I want the DEVS to fix their maps, gen speeds. And not just use perks for bandaids.

BASEKIT - Killers. I would add SOME add ons as basekit. I won't go in to them all. But I would give nurse a slightly buffed distance/recharge. Slinger I would give him less reload time(maybe green keys basekit) I want killers not be so add on reliant.

Survivors - Completely serious when I say nothing. A survivor can literally run no perks. And function basically the same as with perks. Without abusing broken things like dead harding for distance.

You could fix teh speeds and some maps at least by certain perks.

I also one when i had no perks on killer, and even some when i didn't had any on survivor, no argument.

  • @Lochnload_exe said:

    For survivor: BT and Kindred

    why not both for killer?

And Kindred, i forgot to say it before, is very smart, as it would help with campers, should the distance be nerfed just a little bit for it?

Corrupt make sense, when 3 survivors are on a starter gen they can finish it before you even arrive on some maps, haha.

I play on the switch version and it's honestly not fair that pc and the newer consoles can use and exploit higher frame rates then the switch and older consoles can't.

This is why to make it a more even playing field(not to mention more cinematic, like a horror movie). I think the game should be locked to 30fps for all platforms.

Nintendo switch is hindered already by being the switch. I'm neither a console hater nor a Nintendo hater, but a game that has cross-platform should NEVER be "balanced" around the weakest link. We already don't have an un-cap for 60Hz+ which is annoying, and to modify some ini-files just to have the game 120hz+ is nothing i recommend as it is buggy.

Switch shouldn't even be comparable to anything as it isn't a console in the traditional way, i mean they gave up really quick on their concept after they realised more people just want a cheap console (switch lite) and you can't have every game with motion sensor or even exclusive, as most people don't have the motion controller detachable. but that is a whole different discussion.

No, hell no, and again no. Never 30FPS feels like a limitation and 14 years into the past, specially on PC it feels like early 2000, i rather set lower graphic settings to have 60FPS.

  • None, some maps just need pallet adjustment, some need to be somewhat smaller. That's all.

  • With all these colorful skins they also could just add dance emotes... would fit right into this game

Killer main playing survivor for archives. Lost a handful of games to back to back campers. Now all my teammates are hide in corner megs and hide in lockers Dwight’s. No matter how hard I try or how hard I carry, the fact that mmr is based on escapes means my team actually has to do something so my mmr goes up. But now that I only get teammates who crouch all game it feels like my mmr is in perpetual free fall. BHVR is trying to balance a 50/50 sac/escape? Where are my escapes when all I do is die for the past 12 or so rounds? What kind of balance is that?

As killer you get either Potatoe survivor or sweat-comp:

and none of them feel rewarding. Out of 10 games maybe 1 was where it felt "balanced". As you can either have really good perks, be super meta (if you have the perks and killers AND the skill, heh), or just take it as it is.

As survivor, i mainly play with one person in SWF, and it's still weird to see people just doing the weirdest sheet all the time, people want to learn flashlight saves, but the only way to really try it is either custom game or playing and getting it done, of course, it drops the MMR and then they try it while playing with you, get downed because the game doesn't REALLY explain many mechanics (slow vault, medium vault, fast vault?). And many perks are so fricking confusing if you don't learn them all. I don't need the tooltip: "Try to run away from the killer" i want to know why suddenly i got exposed, and what does that even mean? (for example, i got accused as a cheater because i had starstruck). A game needs a red line, and the learning spike of DBD is weirdly shaped, as looping is something that needs to me mastered, to explain to someone what BBQ&Chili does, or why the killer could actually see you. If i wouldn't have watched hours on hours of DBD content, i would had no clue how others can run a killer for so long while i run 2m and the killer is already behind me.

And a lot in this game shouldn't be "yeah, you will figure it out". The tutorial does a VERY basic job of that. Specially the new one. But to be able to test perks or killers against bots should be added to understand the game more. And tool-tips should explain random perks so it makes sense when something happens.

when a friend always told me "oh the killer has ____" i was like "what does that do?" and even if they explained it to me, it was still confusing.

As survivor it doesn't really matter, except getting really useful perks unlocked, which also sucks. like they are basically just re-skins anyways, it shouldn't matter, so give every survivor every perks. idc, make the same for killers. I mean it wont change the biggest problem, but people who want to play a certain style often can't, and if you look at the rooster of the basic survivors, you will realise they all have one certain play style :).

As killer it is no problem to even play without perks if your MMR is trash. Or if you are really good, but to be efficent on both sides we need an overhaul on the perk system and the unlock mechanic.
