Because every community would weaponize that Information, that simple. You can see it with every game where they have a rank system like "gold, silver, bronze [...]". "Wooooow you are only silver, wow no wonder we lost[...]"

It's been discussed several times, I think something like 20 4ks will have you at max MMR
So... You know how these "facts" become facts?
It only needs to take one person to say it, and others copy the information, and suddenly you have 20 people saying that's how it works.
There is no way to see your MMR, so tell me how people are supposed to know that they are high MMR? There was one info-graph with an EXAMPLE of how it is calculated, but no real information (to my knowledge). There could have been something released, maybe by data miners, but I always will be critical about such information without proof.

It doesn't take much to reach max MMR so getting a lot of back to back 4ks will put you at max MMR. But like you said matchmaking is so random that they might still face low mmr teams if there is a killer shortage.

You really have to use your power and get value to make a difference at some point. If you keep getting looped, you are going to get very few kills, to zero at high mmr.
i'm DEFINITELY not high MMR. And ofc, if i would run someone for a long time, i wouldn't mind three gens popping, but because i had some cheaters in my games, i always record my gameplay, just in case.
And it's insane how fast gens pop. I have around 350h in this game, and i get people with 2500h sometimes, which i don't let get to me, because hours =/= skill, it still feels "odd".
Specially when you suddenly get people with 10h or 50h.
@Annso_x said:
Honestly the only reason i have fun playing killer is because I don't expect to win (and most of the time I don't). Three gens popping early game means the spawn positions were unlucky for you, or that the survivors are smart/organized. Don't hesitate to drop chase if the survivor is clearly the "looper" of the group, with a bit of luck they'll waste time healing instead of jumping right back on a gen. You can also try for a 3 gen situation or snowballing with a bit of slugging if they're playing too altruistic. But again if your goal is to have fun, just don't expect to win tbh, doesn't mean you won't or you can't try, but it definitely feels better to leave a game having had fun and thinking you did your best with what you had rather than focusing on the fact that you didn't get many hooks / kills.
Ofc, I'm going into a game open-minded, doesn't mean I don't play for a win. And what I mean is that it happens way too often to say it's just the spawn, they don't even have anything to boost their repair speed, and they still pull it off.
I drop chases if I see they have a very strong loop and it would waste time, but as i said, a normal tile, they loop the amount I could survive, and already three gens pop. I'm really not good at the game, but I'm good at game decisions. occasionally I have games that are so easy that I think I play against bots, but that is 1 out of 10 games. maybe two games from the rest feel "fair" (gens don't fly, I don't feel like I should have camped etc).
I don't mind "losing" if it feels like i had a chance if that makes sense. If i can blame myself on "ay, i looped him too long" or "oops, i missed my hits too many times" it's fine, but if i literally just started playing a round, and i can time it to the exact moment to where i can either leave the chase and they do the three gens anyways (at one point you need to chase a survivor:'D) or commit and the three gens pop.

"Needs to have 12 hooks" is a lie. An optimal game of killer is 4 hooks, as killing every survivor on first hook is the best play you can make if you are able to pull it off.
well, the best would be 2 Survivors dead. So it would be more like 6, but i don't get to 4 hooks. Except if i would tunnel, and i did that too. I really didn't phrase that well: I don't even get one hook in the time 2-3 gens are done. So getting even to 4 seems a lot. idk if that maybe is just that i have an unlucky streak, but it's just not fun to play like that. Ofc if i could pull it off, it feels rewarding, and to win all the time would be boring too.

Learn to 3 gen, and play a lethal killer.
I used to run around the map patroling every gen as Legion, felt like I couldn't keep up with what was happening.
Now? Load in, find 3 gen. Protect it with chainsaw. Hook survs in the 3 gen. Win.
Learn how to run tiles via YT vids. Learn to 3 gen if you are struggling running around map.
Dont get angry though, its PVP you gotta get better and as you play good swf teams your experience will grow andf youll get used to all the tricks
My main Killer is Nemesis. Not the worst, but i know his weakness, and i know how to play him well enough, but even if i 3-gen them, kicking gens is useless without pop, which i don't have unlocked, and even then you need hooks, and if they just run away from the gens and heal, you either chase them down, or hope for BIG mistakes. But overall you already need at least one dead to make it possible, or they need to be bad.
If they are in a call, you need a VERY lucky spawn, or a small map.
And yes, i could play Nurse, or blight i could invest hours in a killer i don't want to play... I mean fellow insane person that plays a "weak" killer, i know you hear me xD.
And yeah, i'm not the "rage" person, i'm really super chill, i'm more... "dissapointed". I appreciate your tips ^^

Hey, i think i found a potential bug/glitch.
About 2 weeks ago, i played some DBD in the evening as usual. Me and my friends noticed something very strange: I sabotaged a hook in order to save my mate from being hooked. I had 0 hook stages at that point and did NOT have DS but i was injured and the killer put me into the dying state. He tried to pick me up and without any skillcheck, he got DS and i got free for literally no reason.
Again: I had no DS and i wasn't even on the Hook. This happened only that single time since today.
Today i played some matches with other friends and it happened again. Again the same hook sabo build (Dead Hard, Empathy, Breakout and Saboteur).
So...Anyone here got an idea of whats going on?
There is a breakout bug as far as i know, when they get off or maybe hooked with 99 ( i can't remember) then the next person get's the progression too.
it's known at least.

don't mind other peoples opinion, play as you want. Both sides cry all the time, and everyone will find something unfair.
There will never be a real definition, as it will be bend as soon as they feel they have less fun.
I sometimes get tunneled or tunnel, it really depends on the game. I ignore the survivors and act as they are bots.

And reported on for it?
Also, to all survivors: CLARIFY ONCE AND FOR ALL - What is Tunneling.
(Because in my experience, I'm smacking everyone I see in front of me, chasing the wounded for a down, how am I tunneling?, I'm NOT singling ANY One out)

I have been thinking would It be fun for both sides to have maps be more interactive for both sides. Maybe there could be set hazards or barriers in maps that both sides can utilize for their benefit. You could also make it benefit killers more then survivors.
Maybe killers can have set hazards that damage survivors when triggered and survivors can make barriers.
It could promote some new strategies for both sides. There could also be unique hazards depending on the map.
What do you think?
Never thought of that.
Could be made instead of map-offerings. I would need to know the concept to agree or disagree :'D

Translation : "The Portal entered by you has been destroyed while traversing the Upside Down. Get 200 bonus Bloodpoints for traversing the Upside Down."
Sudden Quest! Get 200 bonus bloodpoints for traversing the Upside Down!
I have more than this, but I couldn't upload them all because there were too many.
Even in Sadako Rising chapter, you translated '8 seconds' to '8 meters' in add-ons for Onryo.
HAHA! No wonder Korean players are so good with such op perks :P
But yeah, it would be nice to see better translation, unfortunate most games can't hire 50 people just for translation.

When Nemesis has Zombies, why doesn't every killer get them?
Or Teleport, Invis...
3 blink Nurse is already pretty strong. At least for me even one blink Nurse is OP :'D I'm too bad to play against her.
But for a decent player, it can be very hard if she can adjust her missed blinks like that, for a Blight, you need to know that his rushes are WAAAY different. Especially since you can't really decide where to go (all the time). And if i would play Blight i would just hope the Survivors are new and run into me, or they show pity.
Wasn't there a bug where she had a really fast recharge or smth? I think I heard something about it. Would be the same basically, could have been that i get something wrong here though

Literally half the players (okay propably like 90%) complain about everything in the game. Is this some thing that og players dont talk here sikce half of the discussions are cringing about dead hard and noed being too good. Clearly you have forgotten how bad dedicated servers were. "ds is so op" okay these players wouldnt last a day with old inifites, perks and "mechanics"
The problem is that people in forums (especially of a game) often watch content creators. And they also like to repeat what the content creator said.
You can literally wait for content_creator_x to release a video, and suddenly there are 10 posts about this problem.
Also: People are very passionate about a game they play for 300h, 500h, 800h, 1000h, 2000h(+). Of course, you get annoyed with certain parts of the game. EVERY game i was checking out in the community (Discord, Twitter, Forums, etc.) is the same. When it's a small game with a few people, it's nice, cozy and everyone gives a constructive critique. But then they grow and more people that don't know how to "complain the right way" join, and the snowball comes to form bigger.
Now 2 people complain, another one thinks it's a thing that always happens, then another one, etc. and so most problems seem way bigger than they are. This bubble grows inside of itself. That's why conspiracy works too, and so does a forum.
You can see that with the high MMR argument. There are so many claiming they are high MMR because they win a lot of games.
But even if you win 100games in a row, no one knows what MMR you have, except BHVR. AND EVEN NOW we don't know any comparison to low MMR (except play-style).
But this argument doesn't work if you watch people that play that game every day for 4h+ and win the majority of their games and still get "bad" players. The same i get "good" players with 5000h+ in my lobby.
Now back to the complaining:
The question should be "A lot of people complain, and it seems like they hate everything about the game, why does it seem that way?". A lot is frustration aka "i had a bad game and now need to vent" or some similar stuff where people couldn't get a DH player and say DH is the most broken thing, and everyone says so too :O EVERYONE NEEDS TO BE RIGHT!!!!!111!!!!
Even though i see more people messing up their dead hard than people actually using it well. I still don't like it, but it's definitely not as bad as a lot of people want to make it to be

I think it was lag switching or hack, my internet is decent and I have never seen a Survivor just disappear mid chase and for the rest of the match like that before a match I just had.
Not enough data, was it a one-time thing?
Did he die in the end?
Did he do anything else?
I mean i saw people teleporting because of some weird lag stuff. Internet can be as weird as the game itself.

Sometimes i just get survivors, who once they get hurt and i am close on their back, they just keep running againdt the wall etc and if i hit them, they are just gone.
This is getting more and more common and its so unfair.
Also it is 100% not on me because if that happens, its ALWAY and ONLY on the SAME survivor.
No idea how lagswitching works on killer, had the luck to not meet one yet but the survivor one is already gamebreaking.
A good tip, if possible of course, is always to record this stuff.
I had a killer recently who was lagging a whole second behind every action, it was literally impossible to play. Even though we laughed a lot, it's horrible if they would have done it on purpose (there are enough easy ways).
When i play killer and see a Survivor lagging like that, it bothers me less. But the thing you described is something i very rarely saw, but lag-switching is definitely possible with the way the game.

To preface, the match was awful, 2 gens popped waaaaay too quickly at the start, and the survs were unusually aggressive. :') So I post this with a dash of salt but hoping to improve.
2 people were hooked and 2 were on gens. The final gen popped right after Kate was unhooked, and the Kate unhooked the Ace while I chased the Meg who unhooked Kate.
I don't often consider running into cheaters, but I timed it; it was 22-23 seconds after the final gen popped. That's barely enough time for the unaccounted for Megalodon #2 to get all the way across Ormond to the door and open it without Wake Up.
Is there a possibility it was subtle speed boosts, or did I simply get sh1t on as Hag lol? And what tips do you have for spotting subtle cheats in the future?
Record if you can.
it's literally something I do every match. If it isn't a cheater, maybe you find yourself in a youtube-career, if you find a cheater, you have content for your youtube, win/win :P
But yes, it's actually good advice, it often helps for timings, and sometimes you spot weird stuff in the background. You also can upload it and show other people, some know stuff you won'T.

I wonder when people realize that camping isn't always camping:
-killer hooks you
-walks towards a recently dropped pallet to destroy it
-walks back to the hook because the best way
-gets called camper
__
I can't tell how often people looped super close to the hook, so why would i leave the hook area to proxy-camp when they hand it to me?
Camping can be boring, but sometimes you see another survivor or maybe even two, so why would you pressure gens if you know that two are trying to rescue one person? And if you are lucky you get another survivor down.

DONT BAN PPL, just mitigate the issue like u guys did when u nerfed the sharpshooter, adding a cooldown, so a delay in between the crouches, lets face it, its also realistic, because how many people who play this game can do that with their own legs, good majority of humans cant, only athletes, crouch nerf, crouch op
wasn't that in one of the COD games? you could crouch fast like 3-4 times and then you got a slow-down penalty. Even though it's funny to play SWF and tea-bag your friend on the hook a couple of times.
-
These challenges are sometimes annoying, but fine imo. It'S one of these things where i wouldn't mind if it stays that way.
Would i like a change? YES! But we have WAY bigger problems that need way more attention.
Especially with the blood web that goes into the grind, if the blood web wouldn't be so grind-heavy, i wouldn't mind grind-tomes. As they would be "eh i hook people anyways, so why not choose that one" or sometimes it is funny to run a build, even if i know i lose, just to have fun.
I sometimes want a sweaty game, but then i either ignore the challenge, do it when i get the chance or apply the sweat towards the challenge.

Boi we can't even adjust brightness, I'm just glad the updates aren't delayed between pc and console.
Yes and no... It would be nice to adjust Brightness to a certain degree, some maps are REALLY dark, but most would just put brightness all the way up to have an advantage. But that's why Nvidia and AMD have tools for that. Which is somewhat "cheating".
On RPD I have big problems so see properly. I don't mind some "dark zones" where there is a lack of light (i love to see people hiding in a corner and the killer doesn't see them), but this map comes to mind immediately when I want a slider :'D
Delayed updates would only be possible without crossplay. Imagine you could play a killer others couldn't access cough.
Or if a Perk would be disabled on one platform and others could use it. :'D

This is a situation that's being addressed but we do not have an ETA of when the game will return.

I just spawned literally next to a hex totem, I destroyed it before the wraith (With speed addons even) could reach me.
It is just ridiculous imo, you use up an entire perk slot as Killer which is btw anyway a unfair disadvantage and also a HUGE deal with 1 killer perk against 16 survivor perks which can also be stacked btw.
Atleast make ALL hex totems be lit 20 sec after the game start just like the pinhead box or onryo Tvs activate later.
My idea was:
Make every Totem, Hex or not, look dull.
the Map (or even key too, w/e) can reveal the hex totem, it solves two problems:
-two items that barely have any use
-hexes being found immediately
-"do totems"
If you know there is a totem, but can't see which, exceptions would be Totems that are tied to hex: plaything (or maybe even they should be hidden(?).
I would love to see such a test, just to experiment with how it feels. On the test-server, one week maybe, then take a poll and we would have an overall idea if these things could work or are totally garbage. On paper, a million ideas sound great but can be problematic.
People would do all totems just to be sure they get the right one (if they don'T have a way to reveal it) and it could make a new perk where you see hex:totems

My friend hates to play her since just recently, he says she is bugged (at least her animation). Personally it feels weird since he mentioned it, but i never played her myself (yet), and when i played against her it was a coinflip if i'm good enough against her (or rather she is bad, lol) or she is insane with every blink and get's me with such precise blinks i can't react (with my skill).
I like the idea of her, and it can be fun if i get one on my skill level, but that is too rare and i feel bad when a killer gets stomped on (except they are toxic :P) so i sometimes like to use the endgame to train the looping and let myself get killed by the entity.

It's not a secret that with every chapter grind increases exponentially, and also prestiging character is kinda pointless...
So to prestige character you need around 1.5~ million bps, something like that, but also to get all perks you should spend around 6 million bps, which is basically equals p3 50 lvl, so my idea is about reworking prestige to fix exponential grind. So at p1 all of character's perks will be available at every other characters at level 1, at p2 they will be lvl 2 and at p3 lvl 3. So for example you have p3 lvl 50 claudette, and just lvl 1 dwight, since claudia is p3, dwight will have botany knowledge, selfcare and empathy at level 3 already.
The whole point of this is to reduce exponential grind, while keeping grind overall, because I saw too many people that enjoying this grind for some reason, also you have an option to prestige or not character, if you don't like someone, you can just skip him and pretty much in short terms you will spend less bps, but in long terms the opposite. It's also makes progression more noticeable for new players, which is really cool thing to keep them in game.
The only problem I see is players with all p3 killers/survivors, but old and active players would get all perks and p3 anyway, so it's not such a problem.
What do you think about this idea?
To Prestige should always be the option of "I only do it if I invest a ton of time"
the initial grind is the problem, I just try to unlock all the perks for both sides, prestige the killer is the most harmful thing if you want/need all the perks, on Survivor its less problematic, as you only need one with all perks, so if you have one character with all perks you can waste the blood points on the others until you have one P3 with all perks, then you can start P3 the initial survivor.
Killers all play different (more or less for some :P) and here is the problem, but the initial idea of unlocking perks separately and leveling them up to unlock them is nice.
Also: Delete map offerings, delete hatch spawn offerings, and some add ons.
I hope they can show us something cool soon to show what they are working on.

There's not really a simple answer to this, but we've learned from the past to not overpromise too early. There's always a risk something gets pushed or cut back, and then you end up with a lot of understandably upset people. Even if you try to make it as clear as possible that something is subject to change, there's bound to be a game of broken telephone where someone tells their friend, but doesn't mention the specifics, and then they tell their friends, etc. Now their friend is expecting it in the next update because that detail was left out, and so are all of their friends, etc. Even earlier in this thread there were some misconceptions of what we've said in the past. (No shade, we don't expect everyone to memorize what we've said word for word, that's not realistic.)
Beyond that, game development is way more complex than it seems, and things are always at risk of being pushed back. We plan our updates many months in advance to prepare as best we can, but unexpected things can cause a domino effect that affect future updates. So, we try not to go into too much detail until something is close. That way we have a better idea of what's at risk of getting cut before getting people's hopes up.
Basically, while it's already on our minds, it's still too early to spill all the beans and get everyone's hopes up. I love sharing details on things like this, but what I don't love is disappointing many people for months until it finally appears in the game.
You have content creators that can bring such words out there in a very good way.
What if you give them a "script" like "hey, listen {name} you are a Fog-whisperer, you can tell them about stuff we test but are not finished and may not come to the game at all"
almost like it is done with product placement. I get my main information from youtube videos and then look deeper into it. Of course, there is a ton of misinformation and misquoting, and I TOTALLY understand the problems that pull through that.
But what I can see is this problem of people wanting some information like the icons you teased, where you said "oi, that's what we had in mind, it may be never done" Ofc I met people who said "oh they do this" and I told them "yeah but they also said it may never get released.
Clear information is the best way to keep trust, and the community is awesome, from the concept trailers to art to funny videos to insane stuff all over the place. But there's also this angry side that is sad because the game can be frustrating, the majority never had to do anything with game development, maybe saw some indi-vlog or a tutorial on youtube, but ofc that is just a small portion that feeds into the Dunning Kruger effect.
When content creator A says "Ey they put me in a lobby with hackers to punish me" then suddenly the forum would be full of people claiming they have proof it happened to them too. I mean that happened. And it shows that clear communication would eliminate such things.
Player numbers are a big one. "oh declining..." but we only can see so far, and no one looks in the specific data, or how the numbers are made except "ay fewer numbers so bad".
What annoyed me personally about the last Q&A was this problem of feeling disconnected from the information, if an answer is "yeah we do something but we don't talk about it... why take the question in the first place? Of course, I understand the concept of "We hear you, we know what you want".
It makes me feel like there is this whole problem of "We would feel bad if we leak something and then it turns out to be wrong" but the same happens every day, with people guessing the next killer, and then it is... not him... You didn't promise anything, you didn't show anything directly, but everyone understands it's supposed to be like that... a puzzle, a hype...
When we take this formula and would apply it to features that are thought of, especially ideas that are already in the bin, why not share it?
"Hey we had this crazy idea of putting this flying monster in that grows and eats survivors but we scratched it because it was too broken and surely not healthy" Maybe even with a recording of a blob of grey mass with broken animations as a video... stuff like that.
These are things that would connect directly to the forums, youtube, social media in general, and most important the community.
I hear people say "Ay they only do this for that" and there are people who agree. If it's a lie or not, direct communication about such stuff would help immensely. Not eliminate it, but surely help...

Ok, let's work this out like you would fix a "real" problem:
What is the problem:
-you get tunnled-> people equip certain perks... AHA! Perks, that's a good point, what do people use because it's viable/necassary?
->BT helps to take a hit after being unhooked, mhh, the person with the only BT does a gen across the map -> communication is missing -> simpe voicechat (even league of legends got one years ago) [the idea of icons wont help as it doesn't tell anyone that it would be best they should help]... with the way some people rage and communicate? :/ idk chief... so they need some kind of ping/chat-wheel
->You want to hide -> Iron will, really good to stay away longer, personally i don't like the perk, i think it can be strong though ->idk why this perk even exists
-> DS is a nice Mindgame, but it's hard to play around it if the killer is able to slug, but it can be glutch. Doesn't mean you get away, but it gives you another chance. It's fine as it is
-> dead hard is stupid how it works at the moment. It makes chases too long which causes killers often to go for this person = "ah now he doesn't have DH when i leave him now, he will get it back"
__
What is possible to change? Well, if we would take away EVERY perk, who has a harder time? And we don'T take mr.seven-thousand-hours-and-only-play-this-game, let's take average joe, who would win?
Personally, i would say Killer, he still has his abilities to kill, Survivors have a harder time, especially with stealth killers in mind, no information about anything, no second chance... Hell!.
If we would say anything like "oh killer is near the hook, he starts to get a darker screen over time until he's fully blind" (or w/e crazy ideas people have) it's a nice beginning, but i was on a hook yesterday, and instead of the person luring the killer away so someone else maybe gets the unhook, they looped him near me, OFC the killer stays there, why wouldn't he?
The only reason to make someone not camp or tunnel is if they have a benefit that outways the benefits of camping/tunnel. And HERE is where the problem is, people recommend bloodpoints, but should i really leave the tasty kill for 1000bp which do nothing? Even 5000... that's one Item in the Bloodweb, and i get enough as killer anyways.
What if we could introduce something like an objective? Huntress needs to reload, sooner or later, same with trickster... but then the gens fly....
The whole game is not made around being "fair". Every new cool perk (i hate COH but at the same time i love it, best example) pushes the game to a new direction.
We move in a circle with "they need to change something, but i don't know what" We need good examples to solve the problem.
oh and one last thing: Sometimes i tunnel for the same reason other tunnels, i play for MY fun, if someone is cocky and i get them, of course i hit them, do i always tunnel no matter what? Nah! I sometimes let people escape, sometimes i try-hard.
Recently i was "bullying" a killer with a friend, not intentional, but we looped him, used flashlights to save each other etc. and he got literally zero hooks. Then we just let us die in the end-game collapse. The killer was super happy, i saw that ONCE, that someone wanted to give me a kill. I remember when the hatch was given to the last person almost every 3rd game, now i barely see it happening.
People often know how "mean" (they just play the game to have fun, but it still doesn't feel nice for the other side) they play, and then wonder why the killer is mad.
Many problems DON'T need a game update, they need a people-update :P

Whenever I see people throw around the agenda that killer/survivor mains complain too much, I feel like im listening to a smoker talking about how many downsides smoking has. Only with much more emotion attached, and, most notably, the possibility of improvement.
I love that.
I see recommendations and ideas daily, where i think people have hit the nail on its head, I was able to read legitimate counterpoints for opinions I held and thought were rule. And as much as it can get on the nerves of devs, and players alike, I believe the amount of moaning and groaning just shows how many people care about this games success.
Although were dealing with a lot of current bugs and exploits and balancing issues that haven't been addressed yet, there is a lot of potential in this totally incoherent mess of a game. But I don't need to tell all of you that.
I need to tell all of you hOW BROKEN AND UNPLAYABLE....
The only things that can be obnoxious:
-people write the same thing 5 times
-people often just take an opinion from a content creator and treat it as factual
-If one problem becomes more popular, suddenly it seems like everyone has the problem
-it's not WHAT they say, it's HOW they say it
-People sometimes don't want a discussion, they only want to vent
-Sometimes there are no ideas to improve the problem in a balanced way
i love these forums, but sometimes they are pretty cringe, but i guess that is pretty normal for such a Project.

You want shared MMR between platforms? So your skill on keyboard-mouse are translated to consoles?
you can play with controller on PC, so it's not too bad.
It's mainly the grind that is annoying to do again.
@Ruma said:
They act like the plattforms dont allow it but coulsnt they just make a ,,BHVR Account" and make the account etc save there so you could use it everywhere..?
I only know how bad it is with Nintendo. They are SUPER strict with updates and everything that uses any API with access to another platform. That's why they can't hotfix things on the fly, as they need the approval to roll out any update. To be fair, my knowledge is from a couple years ago, but seeing Nintendo and how they progress, it wouldn't surprise me if they are still like this.
Imagine they fix something on PC but Consoles can't use it. That's why the option to disable something (even if not perfect) is awesome. Small things like that show they can do great things. ^^ I would love to know what the exact reasons are, but i'm not too deep into development with consoles.

Can confirm that it also Happens on PC, also happes when you go to the store, archives, or anyhing that leaves this screen :'D re-open it fixes it the most time
