Self-Care is unlimited use, all the exhaustion perks are unlimited use, most survivor perks are unlimited use, why would boon totems be any different. Especially when you consider that a killer can snuff out a boon totem before you can even use it.
Since healing takes 16 seconds with Circle of Healing, plus 14 seconds to setup the totem. You are talking about a 30 second heal compared to a 32 second heal from Self-Care. Not to mention trying to find a totem to bless and going to the area of the totems effect.
Do you see why Circle of Healing is not really that big of a deal.
They have a cooldown period as well right?
-
@RenRen said:
Depends. If there is a requirement to relight them such as hooks then sure. If there isn't then relight totems have to can come back but with a much weaker effect.
Would it be fair for every reblessed boon totem to have a lower effect such as longer healing?😊

@Rhoska said:
Slowdown perks are necessary only vs SWF on voice comms, but even then, it only delays them abit, and doesnt help you win as Killer.
Killer objective is to eliminate Survivors.
Survivor objective is to finish Gens.
Its rational to focus on perks that help eliminate Survivors, rather than the secondary of delaying Survivors to achieve their gen goal.
But then again, frankly 1 Killer vs 4 SWF on voice is a losing proposition anyways.
What would you suggest instead of slowdown perks?😊
-
@Mistakesweremade said:
The fact that they can rebless them infinitely is really annoying. It should either take longer to bless or be a one time thing only.
Funny thing is if killers could rebless hexes there would be backlash🤣

I saw some typed this:
- Higher mmr survivor escape: -5
- Lower mmr escape: -10
- Higher mmr kill: +20
- Lower mmr kill: +10
Means your mmr + 15 that match. That gain is quite high for me.
Even if you kill 2 lower and have 2 higher escape, your mmr would be +10. No wonder Killers complain alot. Their mmr increased non stop.
Bad enough individual killer mmr stars at only 200 points lower than your main🙄

Smack that door open
Even if you open the door you wont force the survivor out...you can down them pick them up and drop them by the exit but they still wont escape unless they crawl🙃

They will still die and the killer mmr goes up🤣

IF any further nerfing is necessary (Which remains to be seen), I think the killer extinguishing a boon should put a cooldown on the boon's owner's perk, preventing them from replacing it for, say, 30 seconds.
And no leeway for NOED. It does not deserve any. Plaything overriding a boon is fine, but NOED should not get that cop-out.
But noed is the uber perk...its what makes this game like a real horror movie 🤣
I agree with the cooldown suggestion.

So what type of builds do you run?😊

Would it really be to the killers benefit? Again killers always say they don't have time to do anything right? So why and how would they have the time to go to a totem spot and activate their hex totems? It makes no sense.
Also if a survivor happens to see where you placed your totem you would get no benefit from it anyway since the survivors would immediately close the totem.
I think haunted ground would get a benefit🤔

Won't someone think of the casuals....the casuals😱🤣

@Kurri said:
No. As long as they can rebless totems infinitely, and bless over hexes (resulting in losing the hex). They are just going to break the game, make the current gen rush - dash to safe zone meta even worse, and make Hex perks obsolete.
I worry about 8 second heals with medkits and healing circle.

4-0 escapes - All survivors gets maximum MMR points
3-1 escapes - All survivors gets equal high MMR points
2-2 escapes - All survivors gain nothing, lose nothing
1-3 escapes - All survivors lose equal MMR points
0-4 all die - All survivors gets maximum MMR point reduction
This would promote teamwork instead of promoting selfish gameplay, leaving teammates behind just for the escape. This would also encourage facecamped survivors to hold on until the end, so the other three can escape and you die but still gain MMR points.
But I want to run urban evasion spine chill left behind and dead hard

I mean we are playing around the escaping and killing since 2016, is nothing new really; even the motto of the game was about the same thing "Death is not an escape".
People still play the game naturally, nothing has been changed.
Well I try not to escape anymore and help the killer raise their mmr...I mean give them bps😇

It's hard to believe this sbmm is what we ended up with after they worked on it for like over a year or so. I don't quite get it, but it seems quite obvious to me that sbmm was never a serious priority to them. They definitely didn't succeed when it comes to this game's matchmaking in my opinion.
Though luckily I personally can't say my matches have gotten worse since the new sbmm. I am actually enjoying this game alot again since recently. My killer matches if anything have gotten more challenging on average, but I don't really mind that currently, and it made me believe that their new skill based matchmaking was actually an improvement over the old one.
It's good you are enjoying it😇
They really did need to add a modifier for game length to sbmm though.

It depends, If I want to have some fun I run none or just one. If I want to compete I have to run 4 (which is kinda sad, I don't have all perks in all killers so there are some killers that I cannot play with to compete).
It is sometimes necessary for a fun game...unless 5 minute games are fun🤣

@Kurri said:

They probably won't. The game is extremely survivor sided, they won't get nerfed until they see a significant number of Killer players leaving the game. They will ignore statistics of Killers no longer running hex perks, survivors healing too quickly, or Killers taking too long to find survivors.
So like if you're plan is to wait around till they fix bless totems, you basically just take a break from the game for a year or two.7
It is going to be entertaining either way🤣
Maybe killers will finally get a BP multiplier for playing.

Thanks for the recommendations😇

@Kurri said:
None. I run maybe 1 end game perk instead. Survivors will rush gens if they want to rush gens so slowdown perks are useless, but if they rush gens then an end game perk like NOED, Blood Warden, or No Way Out is going to punish them.
Or all 3 of those perks in some cases🤣

Make the money, nerf. Make new OP thing, sell it. Make the money off of it, nerf it. This is the mobile game scheme. Dbd is technically a mobile game, so perhaps they learned a bit of microtransaction-fu along the way to apply to the main game?
It's not like they dont make enough with cosmetics🤣

I think it would feel emotionally unbalanced and defeating.

@GannTM said:
I think they’re fine. There’s more of a risk to blessing the totems as it will take 24 seconds to bless a hex totem. I think they will be meta which is what we’ve been asking for for a while.
All I know is if I do decide to play killer I am using thrill of the hunt 🤣
-
@ad19970 said:
I mean, do what you want to do, I don't think anyone really cares that much if you give them a pity kill or not.
If anything though, it might be better to not give him a pity kill to have his mmr adjust better to his actual skill level, though that would require the mmr to work better than it does, I would argue.
@Kurri said:
I don't like it when good survivors give me petty kills. Like do me a favor and just leave so I can get into my next match, and not give me any extra elo so my elo will drop to survivors that take the game less seriously.
It is ridiculous...I would get lower mmr and they would get higher mmr...good thing this forced sbmm was thought through 🤔
-
@ThiccBudhha said:
Borrowed Time is more or less the best perk. Especially in the new MMR system. Followed by Decisive/Dead Hard. That is all you need, really. You could go without the 4th perk at basically no detriment to yourself. Heck, you do not even need to run Borrowed so much as you would pray someone else is running it.
I digress, I would bring Andrenaline as the fourth as OneCagedHeart suggested. Iron Will is whatever. I guess if it is the only reason you can run a killer, than yeah bring it, but even then, probably just drop Borrowed instead for solo queue. Because who cares about that guy on hook. Easier to just take the free escape, imo.
Yeah adrenaline is brutal with swf pounding out gens

@xEa said:
Borrowed Time or Spine Chill.
Borrowed for obvious reasons and Spine Chill because 100 reasons but i am too lazy to name all of them. I leave you with one tho. It is a great looping tool if you are able to read the perk.
Yeah spine chill is awesome to loop wraiths😇

Yeah. I tried to play Pig and Huntress but I failed miserably. I did decent with Trapper but he gives no pressure and every match with him I didn't pull out a win until late in the games.
Yeah low mobility killers without map pressure get beat pretty easily vs competent survivors ☹

True... I guess I wish I could practice in a better environment. Like maybe a casual mode instead of a sweat mode that the game is now. I don't even have any good perks, mostly just unrelenting, monstrous, and those cruddy perks
That's plenty to have a good match...I mean for survivors 🤣.
I am sure the bot mode is still being worked on.

Ill do this but it's not to manipulate SBMM. I had a nurse who I believe was still learning her, she got a couple of good hits but unfortunately no hooks.... We were also on midwich 😭 she never gave up though! So endgame 3 out of 4 of us ran to the sacrifice circle, gave her our items and let the entity take us
The sentiment is nice but the thing is you made her mmr go up at the end of the match. She will just run into a tougher team the following match.
If she was really learning and you wanted to be nice you should have let her practice or just escaped.
That is why this mmr is garbage...what should have been a nice gesture has the opposite effect.

Viable at casual level sure lol
But yeah I agree, I just wanna play some weaker killers and feel like I can do something but atm it feels like I just gotta tank so many loses to have a game I'm able to get a good amount of hooks and fun
Yeah I know I just want to echo the time a developer said trapper and clown aren't low tier you are just not playing them right🤣
-
@Mr_K said:
Killers have separate MMR score.
At 200 points less than your killer main...you will get pretty much the same survivors as your main
-
@EntitySpawn said:
No not really, but thanks to shared mmr we can experience the insanely high skill that only nurse can compete at.
It's a good job I'm a basic attack killer to get downs, very likely to compete at the level of a killer who completely ignores loops...
In all seriousness, why do killers share so much MMR... do you know how many games I'd now have to lose as a weak killer like legion to get him good spot, it's not enjoyable having to lose XX games to be viable again. This shared mmr is awful when you want to do rotations
Didn't you know all killers are viable🙄.
But yeah individual killer mmr should be at least 50 percent of whatever your highest killer mmr is.
-
@Munqaxus said:
They probably felt sorry for you and were giving you the kills.
They probably were but I wasn't having fun and was not going to get a mori at that point.
Instead i was punished for it by having a harder match the next game because of their "generosity".
I just gave up on the daily after the following game where I got 1 hook (already spent half 20 minutes of lobby waiting and about 12 minutes of actual game playing).

Combos of either:
Corrupt/Pop
Ruin/Pop
Thana/Sloppy/Surge
Pop/Oppression
Sometimes I'll use just one of these, but rarely none, if im wanting something else for my build.
Edit: forgot why
I hate the stress dbd induces mainly because I get overwhelmed easily. I use slowdown perks often just to help relieve a bit of tension off my back, sometimes. Ruin, i use the absolute least because I dislike the downside of possibly being removed instantly. Its also the only hex I'll use period, I prefer the more mediocre permanent effects.
How has the pop oppression combo worked out for you?😊
I tried thana and sloppy and it seems too dependent on the killers mobility.

@Advorsus said:
I just really don't find it fun anymore. At this point I'm only logging in to do one or two dailies, and then I immediately stop playing. Because even those matches are just not fun. This game feels more like a chore now. I didn't start playing DBD to play a competitive game. Every match feels exactly the same. Playing as survivor is like pulling teeth. And playing Killer is even worse. Because even with killers I'm not good with, like ones who are level 15 and have basic ass perks, I'm still going against full meta sweat squads. It's boring to go against a full decked out team when you're playing a killer with 0 useful perks. Try to use other killers to gain BP, but then I have to use all of their add-ons and offerings just to do it. And I only have one killer to use BBQ on because after over 10 bloodwebs on each killer, I've yet to get it. So either I get to play with one killer all day everyday, just to farm this grindy ass game, or I get stomped every game for dozens of games until I get enough BP to unlock useful perks on other killers.
I thought if I kept getting stomped each game, I'd go against less skilled survivors and killers. Nope, just more of the same every single match. And it's just become too much of a chore, and very unwelcoming to both new and existing players. I don't want to play DBD competitively. So after 3 years of playing this game, I'm just gonna stop playing completely, and uninstall. It's not worth the headache. If I wanted to play competitive games, I'd go back to League or something.
Edit: Oh! And, I forgot to mention, even if I do extremely well and get Iridescent emblems, it does nothing for me as the grading system is broken. And after the end of every match it says there was a problem with the emblems system, and I just never get them. So there's always 0 reward for me doing well because now I'm stuck in a grade with no hope of further progression.
Thanks for playing killer for as long as you did and take a break.
The game will be the same if or when you come back.
The only way to play competitively in this game is to use one of the top 3 (possibly 2 killers) with full meta builds after you get so many kills (not wins but kills).
