  • I understand your frustration but I think you are missing the benefits of being a purple ranked survivor.

1-You generally get paired with better teammates. Which makes the games play better and be more enjoyable. Your teammates in purple ranks have the same skill level as you, possible less since you have a pretty good killer rank and objectively understand what your opponent is trying to do.

2-The time of day you play really determines how skilled your killer will be. Play in the late evening and you'll face yellow and green rank killers pretty often.

3- You que up the best in green/purple ranks since matchmaking tries to pair you with a purple killer then moves to green then to yellow. Red Rank Survivors have to que red then purple then green then yellow so they'll spend more time trying to que up against killers that are already in matches.

I think you're in the best rank in the game on the survivor side. And yes, killer is too frustrating to play in the new speedy meta.

  • If survivors hook bomb, its 100% on them. I'm not leaving a hook when I see scratch marks or the player in my TR. I'm not leaving a hooked survivor 10 feet from the exit gate in EGC. It makes no sense to leave. Just as you can't complain that unpressured survivors gen rush, you can't blame killers for pressuring EGC hooks, exit gates, and suicidally altruistic survivors. Its really the only thing they can do to secure more hits, downs, and kills.

I don't mind a spicy end game chat, sometimes its more fun than the game was.

  • Obviously kate. She's, uhm, compelling.......

  • Bubba is great for his perks and he's great for memes. I think Myers is slightly better for pure meming though. Or if you just want to take out your frustrations on one unfortunate survivor, he's the best in the game at camping them.

  • I haven't seen it in a game in the past couple hundred games I've played. It needs a buff. The best buff I can think of is a direct counter to head on.

  • Iron Maiden should be immune of head on stuns.

Small Game should reveal auras of totems, bear traps, and hags traps.

  • BBQ is not that great of a tracking perk really. If you are behind a gen, in a locker, using the perk distortion, or within 40 meters your aura will not be revealed. BBQ is awesome at giving you post trial bloodpoints and that is why most people run it. I can't tell you how many hundreds of hooks I've had where I didn't see a single aura. That doesn't mean that they are all close. There is probably 1 survivor close and 2 in lockers.

I would recommend running bitter murmer or discordance for tracking. Discordance is actually better because you interrupt multiple survivors.

Yes, all those perks give you second chances at life for failing and asking absolutely nothing of you.

I'm not saying NOED is unbalanced, it's completely fair. What I am saying is that it's unheallthy design in that just like those survivor perks it gives you a second chance for failing and asking nothing skillful of you.

I'm down with that comment and frankly only have issues with the survivor perks. Hook tech, and DS gen interrupts / locker plays. They undermine the intent of the perk. It is not possible to undermine NOED as far as I know.

  • @Blueberry said:

NOED is a crutch perk. It gives you undeserved kills for doing nothing.

That said, so is DS, BT, and Unbreakable.

DS, BT, and Unbreakable give you undeserved escapes?

NOED is part of the new speed meta, now that Hex Ruin is trash. It literally takes 100 seconds to ensure you won't see NOED. Yeah I understand that it doubles the time spent in match.

I already explained why totems dont always get done. Totally depends on the map and killer playing whether they get finished or not. Without a totem counter you're essentially making 4 players run around looking for totems. Nobody wastes that kind of time every game and noed is not always terrible when it pops up. If the killer has a lot of pressure you're going to pressure gens over countering noed, which I still rarely ever see above green ranks.

It's not a dirty word it's a specific play. Sorry if the term offends you but the devs did not intend killers to be able to easily target one surv off hook and straight to death. Survs have perks to counter it. Call it whatever you want. They have perks to make it risky to target 1 surv at a time. You can attempt to effectively turn the game into a 3v1 quicker but there are risks involved when you play like that.

clearly the devs did intend for that play style when they made insidious a perk

  • @Colton147 said:

Killers have much more second chance perks than survivors; games are more killer-sided than survivors.

No One Escapes Death, Blood Warden, Remember Me, Fire Up, Make Your Choice, Barbecue & Chili, Rancor, Nemesis, and Whispers.

Barbecue and Chili is a second chance perk?

Ruin is really strong with Surveillance. If it isn't found early you can really get a snowball going.

I remember a similar game with old ruin where the totem lasted like 6 minutes. That 1 game out of 500. Man that was a sweet, sweet game.

I'm having no issues gaining pips as a killer. And DC'ing because 2 Gens went off on 1 hook? Good luck finding a match that it doesn't happen in.

usually I average a hook per gen. If 2 gens have popped and I still don’t have a hook, I don’t need to give you 1 more BP from our match. I don’t even try to pip anymore. Frankly I wonder why I even play killer anymore. The in game experience is terrible. And the studio nerfed the single best slowdown perk in the game?

  • @GhostofYharnam said:

If its a bad game i just open the exits and then go to the basement. That way the match will end and they can have there 2 minutes of fame.

If I’m gonna do that I use Myers and never stalk. I can still try to get jump scares for fun. The second the survivor team is super try hard I’ll go find my hiding spot. Not that depipping gives you any fairer matchmaking. Rank 16s face red rank survivors with the maps and objectives stacked against them. If you ever gave me rank 12-9 survivors I’m gonna 4K then for sure. Thankfully that’s not a thing.

  • At this point a rank 10 killer could really be a rank 4 killer because it’s nearly impossible to pip up as a killer and it’s too easy to pip up as a survivor.

and then there’s the ever other way that maps are unbalanced.

at this point if 2 gens have popped before I get a hook I just DC. Sweet skillchecks guyz.

  • Where are the survivor mains? They should’ve rushed into this thread to troll by now. And yes to all above comments.

Ok survivors should get less points for... unsafe hooks.

    Multiple gens.

    Opening both gates

    Flashlight stuns

Should lose points and lose a we’re gonna farm forever stack.

Only way I can see this working at all is if BP became a push/pull system, where gained BP became weighted against your opponent(s). So each side would start with a common pool of BP between them, and each action performed would tip the scale one way or the other. Whichever side performed better gets more BP in that category, and the amount is decided by how much better. In that case, diminishing returns could make sense. Or take all the BP for the new hook action from the survivor who unhooked unsafely.

That’s actually a very good idea. Add in scale for experience difference and it makes a ton of sense. You know because yellow rank killers get red rank survivors.

That sounds terrible. Why would you suggest taking away stealth when it is such a unique and fun part of the game.

I agree with Ohtofu that a mori must be brought for a team of blendettes. Searching bushed isn't fun, its lame. If I'm reduced to searching bushes for the faint of heart, I'm uninstalling.

BT only exists to counter camping. If you aren't camping 90% of the time if won't matter. That said I like the idea I saw earlier about having tokens for BT. Say you get 1/2/3 tokens. Each time you unhook somebody it spends a token. You are refunded the token if it is a safe unhook.

BT is frequently used to hook tech and hook dive. Its really not camping when the killer watches a survivor sprint to the hook before they have time to leave and yes it happens all the time.

What concensus? Does this say the Federation of Salty Killers? Dont imagine things, dude.

Rank 16 killers face red rank survivors REGULARLY. Maps are huge, filled with more pallets than can be kicked in the time it takes to complete 5 gens. These rank 16 killers can't earn pips because they are at 50-100 hours of playing time against teams with a combined 10k hours. Their experience is completely unenjoyable. Games fly by so quick they didn't get a chance to learn how to play killer. Killer que times are instant, survivor que times are like 10 minutes. This game is very unhealthy, you know this, I don't know why you are feigning like you don't know this. Hex perks are hidden in the most obvious spots and don't last AT ALL. Even if you have to stack up like Devour Hope, your hex totem will more than likely get cleansed before you start getting effects from it. There are a multitude of reasons why this game is survivor sided.

    Don't lie to yourself dude.

  • @ZoneDymo said:

I know, who cares about points? but honestly I feel a killer should not get rewarded for tunneling, if you hook the same survivor 3 times in a row, that should heavily cost you bp and your emblem for that category imo

I don’t think it’s wise to further disincentivize a player from playing killer. Maybe in the future after achieving a balance through the many, many changes that need to happen. Then this may be a good idea. But dear god not right now.

  • killers don’t need another nerf. Period.

  • Are you aware that this forum is for Dead by Daylight?

Its a well agree fact that there is a lack of balance between the killer and the survivor roles in this game. Troll someone else.

  • @Colton147 said:

Killers receive more bloodpoints than survivors.

Killers tend to average around 100K a game, while survivors average around 6K-10K - killers can get through multiple bloodwebs (depending on level), while survivors can usually only get a single item. It makes the grind on the survivor side difficult and tedious, especially for newer players.

Killers average 100k BP per game. Are you assuming a bloody party streamer, survivor pudding, and 4 stacks of BBQ per killer game. If 100k is the average what is the high?

  • @KingHEADBUSTER said:

Say camping is "a legit tactic" is like saying spawn killing is a legit tactic.

Sounds like you need to get good.

DBD has insidious as a perk. What other use is their for this perk? How are BT hook techs and DS locker techs considered acceptable and part of the game but insidious camping is not. Bubba has a chainsaw that takes down the hooked survivor and rescuer. Clearly BVHR thinks its an acceptable strategy.

  • @LegionGhostface said:

Honestly, I get that her nerf was a really hard one that requires people to have much more skill when playing her, but she's still like the best killer in the game right now. Do you guys not find her fun or instead, hard to learn? my last game when i went against a nurse was a week ago and she camped me the entire game cuz i ran her for 3 gens and she dced once i was unhooked right when my adren kicked in. but honestly, i found it fun going against skilled nurses and i can barely find any now. #########?? :(

If she was the best killer in the game you would see her in matches. you don’t see her in matches so clearly she is not the best in the game if you double blink and miss you either list chase or have so long to get back into chase that you’re losing gens.

She is so frustrating to play that nobody wants to play her. She was nerfed into oblivion except for the occasional daily rituals.

  • Survivors often sprint to the hook because they are running borrowed time. Or they hook tech. Neither of those are tunneling or camping.

This is not how every Survivor plays, just like every Killer doesn't tunnel.

Edit: If BHVR were to nerf every Killer/Surv perk based off of a portion of people that use it for anything other than whats it supposed to accomplish, every single perk would be bad rn.

Well if you use the Ruin nerf as a guide, they would nerf 2 perks. Borrowed Time and Decisive Strike. They wouldn't even be nerfs really just adjustments. They wouldn't turn strong perks into trash, such as the Ruin nerf did.

  • At least your que time is instant. which is good because the games are over in like 2 and a half minutes. So the survivors can get their skillcheck simulator over with, you can get like 1 or 2 hooks and then boom, end game chat where they taunt you for not getting a down in like 1 second. I mean they did only have 9 pallets and an infinite within 30 meters of them. Taunt away survivors you can relive your glory in the lobby simulator waiting 20 minutes for your next 2.5 minute match.

  • @Skelemania said:

I don't mind Borrowed Time or Decisive Strike because they both feel like anti-tunneling tools. And in the case of DS, as the Killer, you have some ability to play around it. If you're willing to risk Unbreakable or teammates healing while you wait for the potential DS cooldown.

What I mind more is when you get the teammates trying to farm you, that don't have BT, that still try to dehook you inside the killer's terror radius. Or they'll sprint to try to race you to get a dehook first, despite never being on a Generator & then don't have BT themselves so the Survivor immediately gets knocked down again. As a We're Gonna Live Forever gamer, I get aggravated a lot when people race me to hooks because I miss out on a stack & am usually running BT myself.

I can't count the number of locker grabs, gen grabs, and chest grabs I've had against DS players. That isn't anti tunneling. Example, I was playing killer and saw scratch marks leading to the hook. I followed the scratch marks, The survivor drops a pallet and unhooks. The unhooked survivor gets on the gen 5 feet from the hook and starts grinding away. I get an interrupt and DS.

Did I camp or tunnel. Nope. I capitalized on a survivor mistake, which is required as a killer. The perk needs to be nerfed so that it only activates when they are the next basic attack the killer makes. Unless you feel that survivors are entitled to 40-60 seconds of objective time with immunity.

Borrowed Time: Survivor hook techs the hooking animation and resuces with Borrowed Time. The unhooked survivor body blocks for the rescuer. Would you classify this as anti-Camping, anti-Tunneling, or exploiting?

Survivors like this make me want to bring bubba and ground camp them until they bleed out. I am under no obligation to make your DBD experience enjoyable. I will reciprocate your behavior.

  • @LetsPlayTogether said:

BT exists cause killers play cheap. If BT would get nerfed, you would have to get rid of the possibility to play cheap as killer first. But as it stands devs favor killers cheap play.

The consensus is that the game is heavily survivor sided and needs balanced maps to be a fair 4 vs 1. I don't know what you are talking about, sounds like you don't play killer at all.

  • i think behavior could release a DBD pro-version for players with 500 or even 1000 hours as their target. New source of revenue, new maps, addresses the game being completely different for new players versus veterans. Maybe ditch the stealth areas like Yamaoka and focus on chase mechanics and 50/50 tiles. Maybe put a few strong tiles in the corners of the maps where gens can’t spawn.

No they haven't, noobs like me had to wait before ruin update almost 30minutes to find a "redrank lobby" being rank 20 myself, just to get destroyed literally. With new update I wait on rank 14 up to 5 minutes which is more considerable then 30 minutes usually lol

I went through the same thing when I started in September. Luckily the survivors were cool about it and bullied the living ######### out of me. You know, cause survivors are apparently not the toxic ones.

Depends on the time of day. 5-midnight yes they are very fast. Daytime 10-15 minutes. Maybe he plays during the day?

The only thing worse than that is a borrowed time save where they refuse to take a hit. I run BT for end game, I don’t unhook in TR otherwise. Not a good idea. I don’t need to take a hit and cross the entire map. I can body block for you and take a hit later if you would kindly use your brain instead of your forehead.

It's not that it's viewed as toxic, but the fact that all Gens can be rushed through by 3 survivors, while another is in a chase. This is made worse when you have Red ranks going against Green ranked killers who just get outlooped constantly. Pair this up with Toolboxes, and boom. Killer pretty much has to bend over for them. Killers are frustrated because by the time we even manage to get a down, 3 Gens just went off, and leaves very little time to try get anyone else down when other survivors just pop them off. And the Devs still try to say that there isn't an issue with Gens, when clearly, there is. All they need to do is just increase the time it takes. Simple, but of course, that's never going to happen.

I played a game yesterday as trapper with 2 red and 2 purple rank survivors that had scratch marks on the outer wall crouching behind trees. I got farmed by a rank 6 jake with bubba revving 3 feet behind hi, he put us both down, same game a rank 8 David was hit twice running the outer wall. I’m not sure that using the red rank example has a meaning anymore.

If you want to nerf it trying to interfere with VOIP is the least feasible option.

Absolutely impossible to enforce. People could just voice chat from other devices anyway, like using Discord on their phone while playing on PC or console. Even trying to do it is one gigantic waste of resources.

You could always just balance the game for a 4 party SWF and allow the survivor team voice comms during the game. I think everyone would enjoy that. But the killers would have to be buffed and maps would have to be nerfed.

  • @DisappointedUser said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/125132/im-confused-about-gen-rushing

Who has said gen rushing is a survivor being toxic? Any chance you can back that claim up? Killers including myself have said that gen rushing causes difficulty in the game. Clearly there is a problem and it’ll get worse. Green killers are now being matched against red and purple survivors. There aren’t enough high rank killers to go around anymore.

Behavior can solve this by releasing the raw statistics. But I suspect they won’t as it’ll show two situations: 90% of survivors are brown ranks and never rank up. Of the other 10% of survivors, they likely win 75% of the time.

I had a survivor team with brand new parts finish a gen 15-20 seconds into the match. It was so fast I thought the map was bugged. They brought 4 toolboxes 2 purples, a green, and a yellow. So yeah gen rushing is unhealthy for the game. I kept the team injured and slugged and couldn’t stop the onslaught. If you can nerf nurse into oblivion, you can disable toolboxes. You can sabo without them, you can adjust them for sabo only. Survivors don’t need anything to speed up gen times.

Clearly due to killers being too strong. Honestly, remove killer. Every time survivors load into a match 2 are chosen by the entity, the survivors then finish 5 gens and the 2 chosen are killed while the other two live. No need for a killer, perfect 2 kills 2 escapes.

How would I theoretically teabag the entity at a pallet. I did my job, I ran to the strongest pallet on the map, camped it, dropped it, and then teabagged.

  • If I just feel like hating myself I'll play her. I could play her somewhat before, but now its just too punishing when you go for a second blink and miss.
