it means that, by taking their finger off of generators and completing a secondary objective, they cannot be mori'd afterwards.
if the survivor is just gens gens gens gens gens all game, you can kill 'em.
it's not like "oh, well, while i'm on the floor, i'll just choose not to get mori'd and make you destroy a hook" and more like "well, because i did this thing earlier, i'm protected from the mori, so now you have to destroy a hook instead". deathhook survivors are going to get off gens and do whatever the mori objective is, which means an adaptable killer may choose to let them remain in the game longer to apply pressure to survivors that actually are doing the gens.
basically, it's new gen slowdown. now every killer gets to be pig. i'd be excited.
Mmm... No... If the killer has the opportunity to turn the game from 1 vs 4 to 1 vs 3, there's not any particular reason not to do that, you're removing survivor's pressure by decreasing their number + there's no way killer wouldn't ignore weaker links. The whole point of the Morri's is freely killing survivors when they're about to die anyway, it's an Iri offering after all and they simply removing the whole concept by letting survivors guard themselves against Morri's because hey that's apparently toxic. The only reason not to kill a survivor is when the killer using obsession perk but other than that there's no reason to keep survivors alive.

It was surprising to hear that moris are toxic and killers need to earn it, while there are many toxic and unearned things survivors posses, but all of that was never mentioned for some reason.
Me too honestly, but as it seems I gathered a group of survivor mains that don't see any problem with BHVR statement about Morri's *sigh*
-
I guess people are really deaf, so there's a quick recap.
BHVR: Morri's are toxic, killers have to earn them so they couldn't kill survivors freely (also bunch of words to describe how Morri's are bad and going to be changed because of that and cuz they're toxic etc etc)
also BHVR: we testing some new features that are gonna be added to the keys. That's all
If you don't see any problem here, there's no point in discussing it with ignorant people like y'all.

Use a flashlight, it's how iv been finding out but I agree standing still to win kinda sucks
You don't get the point, 1 I don't know if killer is a spirit or not. 2 Requiring to use one item to win is a bad game design unlike with Hag where one survivor can harras her trap by himself while she's chasing another survivor or using a flashlight to destroy her traps.

I can only be a buff, moris legit do nothing now, in fact it is actually for the most part a negative to use them since it takes longer than actually hooking someone. Can't nerf something that already has no game-play effect to begin with.
Mori's ignore DS, Flashlight save, sabo save, Bodyblock save. If you think that mori's are useless, you're missing the potential Morri offering.
By the way, if you didn't get the context of the stream, guy stated that Mori's are TOXIC and killer have to EARN them despite the fact that survivor is already on death hook and killing him is somehow toxic???
-
@Enlyne said:
You don't know yet what's gonna happen to the moris, neither does the rest of the community.
Talk about it when it actually happens, not before, or we're gonna get panic threads everywhere just for this.
Still, they didn't even do anything major to the keys and now in the future we have to earn our mori's while survivors can simply run plunderer builds and open chests 24/7. Does that seems fair to you?

Yah which is kind of the point your advice for the actual survivor being camped is........ what die?
Oh ffs stop treating dbd like a 1vs1 game, it's a 1vs4. If killer is camping Bubba or have noed you l e a v e or use builds (detective's hunch, BT, kindred, etc) to attempt a cheeky rescue. I honestly doesn't see any problem giving killer 1 kill if they're willing to camp. It's sucks to be on the end of the stick but you have your job - stay hooked while others working on gen that's all, stop whining about being dead in a game where death isn't an escape.

Could you please tell me how to work on a gen when your being camped I keep trying to becuase people on here keep telling me to do that. Is there a button combo in not aware of becuase I can never seem to work on gens when in on the hook being camped
If you find some trouble guessing whenever survivor is being camped or not - run kindred.

But i am talking about the often seen scenario, where the killer goes for the unhooked person, often even waits for borrowed to run out, completely ignoring the person who unhooked, even when they are sandbagging or other things. Thats tunneling and that happens a lot.
You as the unhooked person mostly can´t do anything against it, you can go for a loop but if you suck at looping, you will get downed again. We have some mates in our group, who are not good in looping, they constantly get tunneled out of the game and depip after that.
I know, they should just git gud, but that doesen´t change the fact, that the killer could have gone for the person who unhooked or completely ignoring them both, if he is already on the other site of the map.
there's already a solution to that. Unhooker takes full-on agro on killer, making themselves more interesting to down. The second solution is to bring DS, Unbreakable, Soul guard. If you're not using them you have to assume that killer will go for the weak link and most likely going to tunnel one person out of the game to have less pressure in the late game.
-
@KrosseKrabbePizza said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2192506#Comment_2192506
You know that there are many killers, who will come back for the unhooked person from the other site of the map (which will take a lot of time) just to get them downed and hooked again? Of course if i unhook right infront of their face, it´s my fault. But if i wait and the killer still comes back, there is nothing you can really do.
because if there's no other thing for killers to do, they will go to the hook, and if survivors healing after getting unhooked that's their fault + We'll gonna live forever exist.
-
@KrosseKrabbePizza said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2188607#Comment_2188607
Why is that your opinion? In my experience, the best killer don´t need no Noed, Camping or Tunneling at all. They just beat the ######### out of every team. We are by the way a decent SWF, not top notch but we know what to do and 3/4 of us know how to loop a killer for some time.
I don't know where you find those killers but at a high level and in some tournaments, killers are going to camp and slugg and tunnel if given the opportunity they will do it.
-
@KrosseKrabbePizza said:
Since the devs seem to love campers and tunnlers because they are kissing their asses by not punishing this at all, what could they do in a world, where they would want to change something?
I thought of slower dying on the hook and floor, when the killer is beneath the hook for too long.
I know, they are saying that this is a tactic and the remaining survs could do gens instead, but what is about the surv who will depip and won´t make any points, just because a random person in the internet decided to be a complete dick.head?
This is simply not fair. Also they should do something against flashlight clicking and teabagging by stopping the animation and not letting the survivor using his flashlight / crouching for like 20 seconds after he spammed it. This would cause them to not doing it so much anymore.
I assume, that we had plenty threads like this before, but this is the big minus of the game, it should stop toxic people to project their anger on other people.
Survivors are the ones who must punish killer's mistakes. Killer is tunneling? - don't unhook too early, trade hooks, take agro. Killer is camping - work on generators. There's nothing more, nothing less. Developers already fixed Freddy and wraith camping powers.
-
Overall - wraith (good m1-er), my personal opinion - Bubba (creating dead zones real quick).

i don't really play billy so i'm not gonna comment on like, usage of his power since i don't know anything about using it. i don't know if it's correct to take loops wide with the intent of chainsaw drifting, i'll just stick to what i know.
also, is your gameplay choppy too, or is it just the video? i'm going to assume it's your whole computer based on some of the things you miss due to wiggly survivors at low framerates.
--------------------------------------------
game 1: aight now it's your turn on the hookyou do just fine, no major mistakes, the survivors go down one after another. game was basically over as soon as meg used for the people on dwight and you chainsawed him, giving her absolutely no value and leaving her broken for 80 seconds. they made a lot of mistakes and didn't manage to punish you for yours.
all i have to say is that you seem to lose track of people super easily in this match, so try to use your ears more. it makes you tunnel them in order of how obvious they're being instead of picking targets based on priority, which can lead to you losing gens left and right if they had properly played.
--------------------------------------------
game 2: girls weekend at the winter retreatat 23:57 you're chasing this kate around a generator that's like. massively nearly finished. you get a discordance alert all the way on the other side of the map and decide to fly straight there, dropping the kate completely. so you've given up a gen, AND you've given up a pop by not committing to this kate to go to a gen that you know isn't nearly done because tinkerer hasn't gone off.
so you fly all the way to the other side of the map to find zarina and feng. you injure them both, and then zarina taunts you into a chase. she gets away a bit, then you give up on her and go for feng, who's closer. but then zarina closes in again so you switch back to zarina. you finally down her and start flying to a gen that's popped tinkerer and then discordance, and you can see there's 2 people on it with BBQ. you really should've just pressured the gen you were on, and the feng, because if you bully the feng here then one of those other two has to save zarina for her.
ultimately the pop you get from hooking the zarina here doesn't end up going into a generator which is unfortunate. at 26:44 you can hear that the generator is 40%-ish completed and popping it here could have been huge.
i think this sequence is borne from information overload. you get and respond to the myriad of alerts your perks are giving you without planning around them. it's just very reactive gameplay rather than thoughtful gameplay, if you understand what i mean.
by and large though i think this game went downhill because of your computer being choppy. you miss a bunch of easy chainsaws because you just can't keep track with how wiggly these survivors are at your framerate. i think i counted like... 8 missed saws due to low framerate? it's just unfortunate, i'm sorry dude.
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/441345780012285952/843453220302487582/unknown.png
there's a chance you're joking around here, but like. if you are actually seriously thinking about not playing billy any more, i'd support it. i think you should play someone who's more consistent at a lower framerate. for game 3 you switch to bubba, so i'm inclined to believe you're not joking so much. in any case bubba is much more consistent at a lower framerate, so i'm glad you did this if billy was getting you down.
--------------------------------------------
game 3: hubba hubba it's bubba43:55 this is a minor thing but when you're chasing survivors at the TL walls (named for the fact one of them is a T and one of them is an L) you never want to go around the outside edge, otherwise you are physically incapable of ever catching them. cut through the middle and force them to go around the outside, then they have to take a 50/50 of vaulting/faking the window to keep away from you, it's just better.
48:30 this kate is running you in circles because she's running the loop much tighter than you are. try to hug those corners tighter. i know you can't do this while your chainsaw is revved but she's already injured so just m1 her. you keep trying to go for the chainsaw here which isn't gaining you any ground because you're not allowed to hug the loops otherwise you'll hit tantrum, so she's just going to stay faster than you. what i'm saying is, be aware of bubba's weaknesses. you do eventually realise this and then go for the m1 but a whole lot of time is eaten up here and i have a feeling it's going to be costly.
at 50:00 you're struggling to get up onto the hay bale so you can get the dwight, personally i'd just vault the window and force him off of the harvester entirely. if he tries to go back up to it, vault back and he's forced to go somewhere else. again it just seems to be time getting eaten up because you're in a rush. less haste more speed. once you have the dwight, you hook him near to either your ruin or your devour hope - i would've taken him to a different hook, tbh. you really can't afford to lose either of them.
52:04 you eat a DS. that's actually probably the right move - you have massive momentum here, you've just killed the kate and your devour hope is at 4 stacks. if there ever were a time to tunnel, this would be it, and you're tunnelling the guy that's really good at running you around, so getting rid of him will probably win you the game outright even if you lose devour hope afterwards. unfortunately you kinda switch target as soon as you see david which imo is costly. i think switching target here is what gives them time to find and cleanse your devour hope.
--------------------------------------------
game 4: step into my parlour... ok now step out of it thankscorrectly predicting that the claudette would jump into the locker and mindgaming her with the chainsaw is some GOOD STUFF. i saw it coming, you saw it coming, i hoped you'd do that, you did that. beautiful. poetry. that's a free basement hook.
however the gen she was working on... doesn't that seem a little bit too completed? doesn't that seem like someone else was working on it while you were chasing her? i would have proxy camped off the bat with the knowledge there was another person. claudette gets unhooked and you're nowhere near to do anything about it.
1:04:58 you should've taken the m1 hit on the dwight. there's just too much stuff around for you to get a chainsaw off. you're running nurse's calling, an injury now can be two downs later if you play it right. this is a trend in this whole chase with this dwight, you really wanna get that instadown chainsaw but there's just too much stuff. take the m1's when they're spoonfed to you, you would've had two hits by now.
again you basement someone and then you don't proxy camp it. you know everyone's around since you've just chased off ace and you've seen claudette pick dwight up on your nurse's - stay where the action is. if everyone's hanging around a hook, you should too! you have a tendency to want to Keep Doing Things and Remain Active no matter if the actions are accomplishing anything.
1:11:18 you hook the ace and then hit him on hook and nod a bunch. because he was clicking his flashlight? i know it's annoying, but listen. the generator literally 5 meters away from you just had a skill check failed on it. the dwight is right there. you can't afford to waste time BMing, the longer you spend wiping the blood off your weapon the more distance that dwight is getting on you. you've hooked the ace, get over him, stay focussed.
1:13:16 you break the pallet here when you could've just gone around it. the path on the left is literally lunge length. the dwight gets way more distance than he deserves here since he didn't stun you with it.
the chase with the ace takes much longer than it should. if you had m1'd him while you were bodyblocking him instead of going for a chainsaw, you'd have downed him on the pallet. again, the greed! and stop hitting him on hook and nodding at him, you're giving dwight a shitload of time and your pop is ticking. fortunately for you the dwight is stupid and just walks into you which is gg. i would not have been so kind.
also, being nasty in postgame chat is just. stupid. don't do that. you want to improve on killer? don't let some dude piss you off so much that you waste a bunch of time and then insult him in postgame chat because he clicked a flashlight at you. you ######### up so much purely because you were busy BMing him and you won because his teammates weren't as good as he was.
--------------------------------------------
game 5: the doctor is indoctor is a killer that i actually play, so you get more specific and nuanced critique of the actual usage of the powers on top of general gameplay stuff. hooray for you!
off the bat, you static blast to lazily check a generator from 30m instead of just looking at it. it was pumping and making noise, you could've known someone was on it without static blast, and then used static blast to find where that person was more specifically. as it is, all you know is that someone was on it, which the generator itself could've told you. so, it's a misuse of info gathering. i know this is like ten seconds into the match but static blast is extremely important to use well. this could be the difference between finding her and not finding her. as it turns out, you don't find her, and it's probably because of this static blast.
your 2nd static blast finds noone. it's really important for you to use static blast to precisely locate where people are currently hiding, and not broadly locate where people are generally in the vicinity of. patrolling generators can take care of the broad strokes, static blast is for homing in on the precise stuff.
pay attention to the UI when you do this, because you can see survivors get madness even if they don't scream due to calm spirit. you should be doing something like
find active generator -> kick generator (you have brutal strength, use it!) -> static blast
if there's a scream, go to it. if there isn't a scream, but the UI changes to indicate someone's madness went up, it's a calm spirit user.
if there's no scream and no madness tier up, listen to the lockers to hear a survivor's breath inside of it. checking it actively makes too much noise, narrows your camera too much, and if you get it wrong, will allow a survivor to slip out of the locker and start hiding normally. do not give them that opportunity. use your ears.
your 3rd static blast, you're using mid chase. you know where the feng min is, she's there! you're chasing her! you are 2 gens down and you haven't even landed a single hit yet. the core thing to blame here is your usage of static blast and this is the 3rd static blast out of 3. i don't mean to harp on about this so much, but this is super important to playing doctor.
this is your 4th static blast. can you tell me what's wrong with it, based on what i've said so far?
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/441345780012285952/843475643157053460/unknown.png
basically, if i had to point to a single reason as to why your first down is during the endgame collapse, it would be complete misuse of static blast. i hope that this has helped you understand what doctor's strengths are. you only get the kills in this game that you get because the survivors are overly altruistic - if it were me, i would have just left you with the 1k. or perhaps they're trying to get the gnome? i'll admit, after the EGC starts i skipped ahead to the results of this one since it's pretty conclusive.
--------------------------------------------
game 6: an apple a daythe next game is doctor again and it opens the same way, using static blast to cut corners on checking gens. i'm not going to hammer it in, since this is all prerecorded and there's literally no way for you to have acted on the critique that you have not received yet. basically, you know by now, and i know you know by now, so it's fine.
1:40:07 you lose track of the survivor here and, if i had to guess, i'd say that she Quick & Quiet'ed herself into that locker as soon as she turned the corner. survivor perk knowledge could have found her and gotten you your first down super quickly. remember, you're doctor, people want to jump into lockers a lot. you have discordance unlocked, do you also have iron maiden unlocked? i would equip that over third seal any day.
actually, watching the rest of the match and watching your horrible and evil plan come to full fruition, i change my mind. i would equip iron maiden over brutal strength. dude, this match looked like it was falling apart at the seams and then all of the sudden you'd won it. this was some gripping stuff, i hope you feel satisfied because i could not smell what the rock was cooking until he was feeding it to me. bravo. just, bravo. watching that survivor in the postgame chat flaming their teammates and then telling you to stfu was just... magnificent.
i do have to say that this only worked because claudette was the first one you slugged. either you actively chose to, or you got lucky, but empathy completely trumps knock out, so sealing her aura reading and making her unable to do anything was pivotal. this was partially great strategy on your part and partially them not cleansing third seal - that feng pushing the generator as the last one not slugged was just such a massive mistake, and her whole team died for it. gg as hell, dude. obviously she's the one flaming everybody too, because of course she is, lol.
--------------------------------------------
ok, that's all i'm gonna watch for now. so, big tl;dr and conclusion:
think before you act! information misuse is your achilles heel. saw it a lot on billy, saw it a lot on doctor. on one, you were given info without controlling when you were getting it, on the other you had the choice when you were acquiring info, in either case you tended to make mistakes with it. have a plan, and if you don't have one, make one.
don't tilt! don't let survivors get your goat by clicking flashlights and being annoying. you mismanaged opportunities a couple times because someone was tilting you, to the point of insulting them in postgame chat. and don't do that either, it sucks! once the game's over, if you have nothing nice to say, just say gg and leave.
take the free m1's! this one's more for bubba than anyone else but if a survivor's in your mouth, bite! don't waste time snarling, just bite!
use your ears! don't check lockers with the spacebar, check them with your ears. pay attention to grunts of pain and footsteps.
and... probably the worst thing i'll say today... maybe look into upgrading your pc? i think your framerate was the thing hurting your billy the most out of everything that was going on. i know, i know, it's not something that can be easily helped and it's mean to point out, but if you want to play to win, i don't know if you can play billy with your framerate. if you wanna play for fun, that's totally fine, but if you're really looking to win more and play more competitively, i don't think you can play billy at a higher level like that. decisionmaking aside, you can make all the best decisions in the world, but if you miss easy saws because survivors are teleporting around on your screen, it won't matter how good the plan is.
Big thanks! That helped me a lot... I think... I'm losing framerates a lot while recording.... By the way, the last game 2:15:40 was as wraith, I 4k-ed but still feeling I messed some stuff up, bless you if you could give me any advice on that... 😅

Why don't they deserve the hit? What metric are you using to determine whether someone deserves something or not?
If they waste 45 seconds to get bloodlust 3, then they have wasted 45 seconds to get one hit and they frankly deserve the reward to their dedication. And if we do the math that is 45 times 3 seconds the other three survivors have to do generators.
As long as maps like Fractured Cowshed exists, bloodlust is fine.
Because you have to drop chase if it takes too long, if you dedicate yourself to one survivor just to get blood lust tier 3, hit them and leave... That's how you lose as a killer and you're supporting bad gameplay, so your argument is invalid to me.

It's quite obvious that he meant that if you don't deal with breakable walls, you have three more infinites existing on other maps, not just Haddonfield.
Obvious? maybe but he still should mention it. I'm not in the mood to read people's minds and guess what they've actually meant. + You actually need to destroy them, that's the point of breakable walls, they're temporary and less useful once you break down the wall.

That is a terrible way of replying to someone, but I will go along with it.
We still have 1 actual infinite loop, which is obviously located on Haddonfield, and if you don't go for Breakable Walls we have 3 more. But that is not the point here.
The point is, a killer can get a hit with Bloodlust 1 or 2. Therefore there is no reason for Bloodlust 3, and therefore there is no reason to remove it because no one uses it. I doubt you have used or seen a killer using it recently.
You're lazy that's all. Tier 3 rewards killer for playing terribly and punishes survivors for playing well which is why it should be removed. Btw Haddonfield doesn't have any breakable walls so you clearly don't know what you're talking about. How I am being terrible? Replying and explaining to you how balance works while you don't even know that Haddonfield doesn't have breakable walls..

Well, no one uses No One Left Behind, but it is there.
Invalid argument. Perk is a perk, an old game mechanic (such as bloodlust) was used in order to counter infinite and bad game design okay. However, we don't have infinities anymore and any mediocre killer can get a hit with tier 1, 2 bloodlust but rewarding killer for bad gameplay just because survivor looped killer perfectly is just stupid game design such as exhaustions addons.

Haven forbid the Killer have a sliding-scale mechanic to end a chase. 🙄
Survivors and killers have second chance perks however that doesn't make my point invalid, if you hate survivors that much that's your problem.

Better suggestion: When a survivor is hit it will force him to drop the item, dropped item will lose its charges overtime after all charges are consumed, the entity will consume the item.

Unexpected things happen - spouses/kids/pets/parents need someone. Very few people have 100% absolute control over their time 100% of the time. Your doorbell rings, etc. But instead of dragging someone who is afk into a match, the game should just boot them out of the lobby and put them back into the queue.
True however that's on them, it's not BHVR job to fix that. + weekend exists

Killer/survivors shouldn't be playing a game if they're busy.

Myers is still better than trapper/trickster in my opinion. If you're playing with a mirror you have to bring an indoor map offering otherwise you're wasting addon slots. Infinite tier 3 is still a thing, so yes. The only thing that should be reworked is his tier 1, it shouldn't be his hindrance.

Oh my... that's embarrassing... cringe. You did not read my post. I said I did not want to hear about Small Game because MAPS have always existed. You act like that buff brought us something that we didn't already have.
It's more cringe that survivors refuse to run perks such as small game, detective's hunch with map to counter totems, and yet crying about it

He’s still great but you can’t rely on add ons anymore.
Though I would like them to revert the small overheat nerf they did post PTB
Billy is fun. yes. Until you meet high-level survivors who know where to run you, forcing to m1 or drop the chase.
-
First of all: decrease overheat when hitting survivor with chainsaw
Second of all: The more overheated chainsaw is the more quickly it will rev up
Third of all: rework addons and remove penalty from some addons.
Fourth of all: Speed limiter should increase revving up speed or decrease overheat.
Fifth of all: Lopro chains and other iri addons should decrease in rarity because their value is very map dependent.

Wait, the Perk goes on cooldown when saboing with toolboxes?
One buff I would give it is that the perk doesn't go on cooldown when you didn't finish the sabo.
Yes, it indeed goes on cooldown when sabotaging hook with toolboxes.

Just letting him carry 2 traps as part of his base kit would be a step in a right direction.

I don't see an issue with hook states counting as hooks. It means killers don't screwed over because survivors suicide on hook.
As far as slugging goes, if it's that big of an issue for you run anti-slug perks to punish killers for slugging.
However, it doesn't count for devout emblem which is what the point of hook counter in the first place. If survivor bleeds out hook counter also fill up which is useless.

Tunnelling a strategy and you cant judge people for that
Then don't judge and cry about survivors using these perks as a strategy to win.

This system is stupid and it will only lead to people leaving the game.
I know it because i have so many steam friends who have stop to play the game because of that.
They almost every time DC because of a bug, it's not a ragequit.
So do you think there is in the mind of a player who was frustrated enough by a bug for leaving the game, when he see that he have a penalty for not being happy with the gameplay.
The best thing to do (imao) is to let people leave the game, but his characters stay in the game (like online survival game where you can leave only after a timer of 10sec) and he's not able to play again until the game is finish.
And give him a rank penalty or block the acces to the rift or the bloodweb for the same amount of time that we have right now with the penalty system
I don't know how blocking blood web would be good or healthy for the game lol. DBD already has a bunch of broken stuff that they didn't fix yet you suggest an even more and harsh DC penalty, like where's your logic?

That perk should never have even happened... Hex totems are already easily guarded by certain killers like Trapper / Hag... not to mention you all have aura reading and wall hacks with BBQ... you don't need another ward to protect your gen progression... learn to play killer or don't play killer at all.
If you think that playing only as a survivor makes your arguments valid, just simply get out. If you think that BBQ is OP wallhack and everything is simple, just get out and play both sides you tilted survivor main.

As I've said, Undying is still a great perk, and might be even better than the old Undying. It's a temporary yet reliable mask for your hex perk and also works with way more perks now (Devour Hope, Lullaby, etc.), while current MoM is pretty much, well, y'know, crap, and I do believe that MoM deserves a rework. Back to the topic:
Not all perks are supposed to be reliable, and not all perks are supposed to work every time. Undying is a great example for that.
It would be a reliable mask if it actually removed exposed/curse status (Devour hope or NOED for example) however it's doesn't. This is why undying in such a weak spot, well at least for me. Its value depends on RNG and the map also depends on survivors (if they run small game/detective's hunch or map) no matter what killer do and because it's 50/50 makes it even worse which is why aura reveal was needed. Right now is survivors stumble across dull totem it will actually tell them that they've been cursed by undying which is also making perk even worse as a "masking tool" at least in my opinion.
