The point is that devs take feedbacks from the community but that doesnt mean that everything you write because you think is good must be added to the game as you are supposing. If they decided not to add it its because it didnt work or maybe cause they didnt have time to do it.
@premiumRICE at what point did the OP say that their opinion SHOULD be implemented in the game?? You're the only person who is talking about that. They are talking about how these discussions can get lost, whether that be from the community or devs. You've totally missed the point here.
Edit: Although, having reading the OP again it's mentioned that the easy fix could have been added... I don't think it was meant to be said in the way you've talked about it being egotistical. IYKWIM
-
@premiumRICE why did you feel the need to leave such an unnecessary and douchy comment?
@Rinthespooki, sometimes you get loads of feedback from the community and sometimes you get literally nothing. It might have to do with repeated content, I see the same sort of comments being posted everyday and I imagine people will ignore it.
-
Well I pretty much use Spine Chill all the time, so I don't get caught off guard. It's been a popular perk for a long time, this isn't new... π§ And as someone else said, if survivors are paying attention they're no gonna fall for the Myers trick anyway.
-
You're all talking about 150 ping as if it's a that's bad and I'm sitting over here in average pings of +300. Once had a guy who was +1200 ping π― LOL
But in all seriousness I'm seeing better pings recently, under 150 and such.
-
In what way does it freeze? Mine would freeze after the opening scene, I ended up having to delete and reinstall the game. It worked after that.
I was also having different problems for ages before the update but it's fine now. You might want to post this on the Bug or Technical Issue section for more info on what to do.

And another one... 3 DCes within 15 seconds, last guy grabs hatch. They all made sure to stick around to tell me off though.
@LordGlint As a survivor I don't even understand what is being said here, it's so dumb. I'm glad we don't have gamechat on PS4 so I'm not subjected to this sort of thing lol only private messages π

The only reason it seems like survivors dc more is because there is 4 of them. The dc rate is probably the same for both sides. Also killers will dc because their ruin got cleansed at the start of the match there is pettiness on both sides.
@Ireath Exactly! Can you imagine if the statistics for DCing were higher for killers? That would pretty bad. There are always 3 extra survivors playing a game at one time. It's not surprising and I still don't get why people don't understand this. It's always gonna happen statistically speaking.
Infact, after a couple weeks hiatus I played 5 games last night and not a single survivor DCd. But 1 killer DCd after a couple of mins into the game after chasing someone for ages and 2 gens popped.
-
@Sinful_Dreams Yeah I was just about to comment about console being different.
I don't play killer so I can't say anything about that (pretty sure my connection can't handle it) but I've got good and bad messages from both killers and survivors.
I've had a Nurse accuse me of being SWF & gen rushing and told me I should be embarrassed (I'm solo). Another just swearing at me. Survivor who called me a loser because I escaped as he got downed. Managed to talk him round and said I was injured with no way to heal myself and just had awful round and he was actually alright about it.
Surprisingly, most of mine are actually friendly messages. If I message a killer I always say GG immediately so they know I'm not there to insult them - had a killer immediately go on the offensive when I created a message group as he thought I was gonna throw hate, they were a bit embarrassed after they read my nice message lol. So I always immediately say gg to avoid that.
I think on console most people can't be bothered to go through the process of setting up a message compared to the end game chat on PC.
-
Hmm seems a bit unnecessary. If it's the killer's choice to camp and tunnel, then it's the survivors choice to be cautious and sneaky.
What if I get found 5 seconds into the match and I'm running the killer around for 2 mins. Then I get crows... Now I have NO chance of hiding from the killer.
How are you supposed to get rid of the crows? Do you tap the gen or do you have to fix them for a certain amount of time?
What if the team isn't great and they're struggling with Ruin so no gens are getting done. If they're going around hunting for totems they're gonna get crows. So will drastically hurt new & inexperienced players.
-
But what about people who have genuinely DCd through no fault of their own? I think I've DCd 3 or 4 times in total - but it was NEVER on purpose. Why should I get stuck with a bunch of DCers because my Internet F'd up a few times??
And what about killers who DC? Are they gonna get put with survivors who DC? In certain situations this could literally make matches impossible to play.
There should be a certain limit, like if you DC more than 5 times in a week or month then you get put with the others. DCing 1 or 2 times shouldn't be penalised as it could be genuine.
-
1. Accidentally teabagging in the middle of a chase. Can't count how many times I ended up crouching instead of sprinting.
2. Body blocking team mates as I had no idea what I was doing.
3. Hiding for too long and doing nothing everytime I heard the terror radius.
-
I've been playing Scoops Ahoy Steve lately and have noticed I've been tunneled alot more. And when I say tunnelling, I mean full on tunnel vision and refusing to leave me alone even if there were multiple injured survivors in front of killer.
Buuut... It was after rank reset so that probably didn't help. Happened a bit with Nancy too π€
-
This is a cool idea, would love something like this or even like a water map where the levels change.
Only problem I can think of, can the killer just hardcore camp the train door?
-
My god... You rebel π
-
I've gone for Spine Chill as it's incredibly useful as a solo player and in general. I was split between We'll Make It & Kindred as those are some of my go to perks π

Shouldn't happen without someone bringing them as SWF, meaning they were paired with someone your level anyway, since rank 2 resets to 6 or 7 which shouldn't match with 20 in almost all cases.
Not that it isn't an issue, but this doesn't have anything to do with rank reset.
Yeah, just yesterday I had a match with three Rank 4 survivors and one Rank 16 on our team. The killer was Rank 2 and ebony mori'd him in under a minute... π
Hopefully they fix that soon because that is a huge rank difference, even if it was swf...
-
What happened in the end?
At that point it's really up to the survivor to DC. Leave and make sure your character is moving in some way so you don't get kicked. Hopefully they will have left by the time you come back.
-
It's annoying to be the survivors left out when this happens but at the end of the day the killer gets to choose.
What's really dirty though, is when survivors work with killers to purposefully kill other survivors - that's just not on.
-
I play on PS4 and there are plenty of games. Are you actually loading into lobbies or are your lobbies empty?
-
I'm assuming you're new? When you first play it does seem unfair but then you play more and understand how it works. Other people have explained as well but I'll do one too.
1.Only certain killers can do this and there's normally a draw back to it. Dodge the Hillybillys Chainsaw, stay as far away from Leatherface as possible, look directly at Ghostface so he can't expose you. Look at the killers abilities to get a better understanding.
2. As someone has said, there are multiple perks to get you off the ground. It's part of the game otherwise it would be too easy for survivors and there would be no slugging (leaving on ground instead of hooking).
3. Spin chill (cat tingle) only works when the killer is looking in YOUR direction and within a certain distance. So they could be right next to you but looking the other way so it won't work. This doesn't work on Myers in his 1st beginning phase.
4. Music should play when you're getting chased, unless you're talking about the general killer heartbeat.
5. In my opinion Moris should only activate after being hooked twice. Yesterday I played with a Rank 16 on my team (who should not have gone against a Rank 7 Ebony Mori killer :/ PS4) who was literally mori' d about 1 minute into the game. Very unfair, if I was that killer I would have gone easy on him or just wouldn't have brought a Mori in the first place π.
6. Either you got in the locker too late so BBQ&Chillie activated or you left scratch marks and he followed them to locker.
-
If I see a basement gen I do that one first.
I try to do middle ones as well. If I see someone doing a gen right next to a finished one, I'll usually run to the other end of the map or in the middle to get a gen done.
Can't remember the map name but the one with all the farm equipment and little shack, it's very long and thin. That one is deadly if you 3 Gen yourself but it's very good if you play smart as the killer has to go further π hehehe

I envy you... There is not rotating the characters on PS4 :(
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/752589#Comment_752589
When I play survivor, yes. Killer (which is most time these days) no.
@MisterCremaster You can rotate your character in PS4! Hold X on your character and spin π

@Tizzle said:
Depends where the bar is on the first phase if you successfully unhook yourself.
Struggling depletes the bar -- If it goes below half while you are unhooking yourself there won't be a second phase.
@Tizzle noooo I was almost at the middle of the bar! If I had done it 2 seconds earlier I would have been fine π
-
@Objectively_speaking said:
Any interruption (successful unhook) automatically moves you to the next phase.
Aww that's kind of annoying. I thought I'd of known that by now π£ thanks
-
I hate when this happens! Especially when you've done well the entire match and get killed on your first hook because they're too selfish to save you.
I once had a match against a Myers who'd killed half the team. There were 2 gens left and Myers was patrolling pretty well so I had to sneak attack that gen like no one's business. When I'm hiding from Myers, Jake appears from a corner and asks for heals. As soon as possible he sneaks back over and hides in a locker. I have to do these gens by myself with absolutely no help while it gets regressed multiple times.
I power the gates and immediately run into Myers who chases me long enough for Jake to get the door open. I'm hooked and I watch the Jake who did nothing stand in the gate entrance and point/teabag at Myers. I'm sitting there like... wow.
But all was well in the end as this was the one and only time I've ever yeeted myself off the hook and I got the hatch. So lucky π€―
-
This could definitely add a different challenge to the game. Lots of mind games and such. And would definitely need a downtime before it can be closed again or it will be abused, 15 secs might not be enough? Maybe the more times the gate is used the longer it takes to close it? Like how when facing Freddie it takes more time to wake up each time.
But yes it's more of a mechanic than an 'objective'. It is a good idea though π
-
It's a good idea to make things more fun, but in terms of progression/points/rank and successfully doing this in real time is another thing. π€
It's going to be difficult to get points in each emblem category if you are very strict to your role. The survivor running the killer around may not even get a safety pip, especially if they die. If each player was very strict to their specialty they are going to have a hard time progressing.
And the killer is an unknown variant who could derail your plan. I'd suggest going into it with your roles but changing strategy if needed. So just have fun with it.
I'm assuming you'd assign specific perk builds to each role? This could possibly be one of the more fun parts.
The runner has all the slippery fast perks like Balanced Landing, Lithe, OoO etc.
The healer has self-care, BT, We'll make it and botany.
The Gen Jockeys use stealth, gen and totem perks.
I'm a solo survivor so I'm probably never going to be able to do this but I guess I could just go for it every so often and pick a role π
It's a good idea though, will definitely keep your gameplay fresh - especially if you swap roles every so often. It's all about having fun in the end π
-
I've never purposefully DCd but the times I've wanted to sacrifice fellow survivors:
- After having a terrible run of matches I get left on the hook while 2 Megs do a gen directly next to me and make no attempt to save. Dwight has to come from the other side of the map to unhook, then no one attempts to distract killer/take a hit, am tunnelled by killer and sacrificed on 2nd hook.
- That time a Feng decided to work with Billy and lead him to all the survivors to get them killed. Includes purposefully blowing gens, body blocking and chasing/pointing us out. Someone was Mori'd, another DCd and I was oblivious to all of this until accidentally running into them and getting 1 hooked... Absolute traitor! π€
-
Most:
- Myers (just love seeing Michael lol but really enjoy playing against him even if I get stabby stabbed)
- Huntress (You have to play differently against huntress and I like her mechanics/look, not iridescent hatches though!!! )
- Demogorgon (Fun and love ST)
Least:
- Spirit (usually don't mind her if I've got mindgame perks but had way too many games recently, 5 Spirits in a row - had to stop playing for the night)
- Bubba (These matches seem to go 1 of 2 ways, barely touches us and we escape or get put in the basement and have to watch my team basically throw themselves at Bubba)
- Wraith (similar to Bubba reasoning but I have a hatred of Sonic the Wraith as I can't seem to get away from him when he has all his speedy stuff going on)
-
It happens quite a lot, I usually try to protect them as best I can. I'm rank 7 at the moment and was put in a team with a rank 8, 15 and 16 (killer rank 11). I've also been in matches with rank 2 killers as a rank 8 + multiple times....
It's probably because they couldn't find you a proper ranked match so instead of making you wait for ages, they shuffle the ranks a little.
-
As others have said, toxicity is on both sides but of course there are going to be more toxic survivors. Statistically speaking of course, there are 4 survivors and 1 killer. Can you imagine how sad it would be if the statistics were that there were more toxic killers than survivors?? That would be ridiculous. I'm not defending toxicity in anyway as I hate this side of the community but it's just logic.
The only thing I can think of that I might have done 'toxically' would be accidentally mini teabagging in the middle of a chases when I first started the game. And recently, using Head On at the start of a match when Freddie was heading towards a hiding team mates but even then that's not really toxic, I'm just using a perk. Also the term 'toxic' really seems to be interpreted differently, aka genrushing and killing survivors is apparently toxic. It's just stupid.
I've seen killer mains on this forum say they target and tunnel specific survivors simply for using a certain perk or cosmetic (there's toxic perks now... π) then have the audacity to complain about toxic survivors, it's a 2 way street guys.
And I find it sad that people should have to play both sides to understand it. Do these people not know what empathy and understanding is? π₯ Anyway rant over, so in conclusion there's a bunch of A-holes who play this game and unfortunately we gotta deal with it. Not taking it so seriously helps, just make sure you're having fun. I know it's helped me.
-
These bugs are such a set back for survivors, you may as well be running No Mither with no benefits.
And if a killer realises a survivor has the gate glitch they should really let them get the hatch, you're just a massive A-hole otherwise π
-
They may have left before you got to the results screen causing a visual glitch π€ I've had 'you got disconnected from killer' at results screen multiple times but can't remember if they still had BP or not.
-
@Thatbrownmonster omg same, I accidentally bought something for Nea (who I don't use that often) and wasted 4000 shards :'(
Wish there was a refund option, obviously within a certain time limit.
-
Lmao can you imagine seeing Michael staring at you in the distance with that outfit on π€£ I'd love playing against him even more!
-
Where'd my other comment go? π― Oh man I'm not typing that out again...
-
@grtf47 Exactly! It just feels so unnecessary to me.
-
@Micheal_Myers Can't tell if you're trying to be ironic or not. If you are then you can ignore the rest.
Obviously@Michael_Myers you don't speak for everyone so that's not how everyone thinks. I'm sure there are people who do think the way you've described but majority of the time people just message straight insults because they're childish and it makes them feel better about themselves.
To me 'You only escaped because of flashlight and loop' sounds more like 'I'm better than you, even though I lost but have to tell you so I can validate myself P. S. I'm an A-hole'. There are so many nicer ways he could have phrased it if he meant what you are suggesting so I'm like 99% sure he was just being salty.
I know there are people out there who do actually send nice/decent messages. I messaged a Killer with a GG and we talked about the awful match making. We were both under Rank 10 and the rest of my team were Rank 20,19 and 19 (all 3 DCd at one point or another). He actually said its nice to have a kind message as after 80% of his matches he gets a salty survivor message.
So at the end of the day people have to stop and think before sending messages and try to be a decent person. It can't be that difficult, surely? π
-
Yeah I don't get it at all. Like, who raised you to think it's okay to message someone purely to insult/demean them simply because you lost? But apparently it's the Internet so that's a good enough excuse π
I usually play survivor but had messages from both killers and survivors. Thankfully they're not as bad as some that others get.
Got a message from a Nurse (who wasn't very good) along the lines of: "No real training because you gen rush swf noobs. Don't you feel ridiculous" and I'm just sitting there laughing 1. I'm a solo survivor 2. I'm literally playing the game mechanics 3. How doesn't this guy feel ridiculous sending this to me?
Lmao the ego on some people. Just ignore or report them, it's all we can do unfortunately.
-
I was against a killer the other day who pretty much had all totem perks and so I found 2 different lit hex totems but didn't cleanse them yet. Devour hope activates so we are all exposed so I run back to the totem and cleanse it - Haunted Grounds. So we are double exposed, a little while after Haunted Grounds has deactivated someone cleanses DH. No one was downed and all totems where destroyed so no NOED. Pretty good strat if you can pull it off.
But most times it usually goes like this - once was trying to help an injured survivor getting chased by Spirit close to the start of match. They get downed under a pallet so I was gonna try for a pallet save but she knew I was there and started chasing me. I was planning to run her around for a while so the others could heal the downed survivor but as she hits me someone cleanses HG. Then I'm just laying there a couple metres away from other downed survivor like :( Could not have been worse timing lol
-
@Pugpablo123 Thanks, yeah it was very start of the map so I wasn't aware of where I was. In fact I was very close to wiggling off - he definitely missed a few hooks to get me there. If I was paying more attention to where he was carrying me I would have wiggled a bit quicker, may have even escaped π
-
@Xboned Thanks :) He actually wasn't full on face camping, he went up the stairs each time. But everytime he did there was a survivor waiting on the other side of the shack who then decided to run in. This repeated until they were all down or on hooks.
He could have been camping the top of the stairs for all I know but my team mates definitely could have waited a little while before coming down... π They were pretty quick coming to get me, Kindred deffo would have helped.
-
I get it after every match and have to restart game. But I found if I quit to main menu, wait a few seconds and try find a match again it works.
-
PS4 - I can't do more than one game without getting the infinite load screen after everymatch and have to quit game and start again. But... I've found if I quit to main menu before I start looking for new match it works 9/10.
-
Both go online, join together and then both go offline...
-
I've been playing as Steve with his Scoops Ahoy outfit (I couldn't resist) and it's been fun so far. Demogorgon is fun but managed to escape 3/4 times against him, only died because potato team mate refused to unhook anyone the entire round. I like new map but very confusing at first, having played it a bit more I understand layout but still get lost.
Will be playing Nancy after I level up Steve a bit.
-
I've just found out I literally can't do more than one match at a time. I get the bug and have to quit the game after every match, annoying af. Never had this problem before.
Buuut... I just had an experiment and quit to the main menu and then tried for another match and it worked! :D
-
Just started playing new stuff tonight on PS4. First game got demogorgon on temple map and second game I got the new map with Freddie. Very confusing map! Feels really big and was lost. Didn't get to explore much unfortunately.
