Yeah, I sometimes get NAT error messages or 'you can't connect' which would normally boot me to the main menu but now it stays on the character screen with 'cancel' greyed out. I have to quit app and load again. I've just started playing a session tonight and it's already happened twice. Quite annoying.

I used The Game offering cause I wanted everyone to suffer
I actually enjoy playing The Game, I used to hate it cause I could never find gens. I still hate Lerys though ๐ฃ

The stupidest part of this whole situation is that that shouldn't even be necessary. It tells you when your rescuer has WMI, the same way that it tells you when they have BT, so you should be able to adjust your playing accordingly.
I don't know what rank this happened at, maybe David was just new. But if he wasn't new and just too moronic to look at his HUD in the 30 seconds you (OP) spent chasing him around, well... he deserved to die.
@Fibijean obviously is after rank reset. I'm usually purple/red rank but was rank 11 last night when it happened. I think David may have been a yellow or brown rank. I kept getting put with brown potato squads. One round the killer let me live cause team was so bad ๐คฃ
Also had a round last night with a potato crew and a Meg refused to stop moving while downed, trying to heal but just wouldn't stop crawling. I have no explanation for this -as you can probably guess they died first. And then I got 1 hooked after saving everyone multiple times, couldn't be bothered to get me apparently :( oh the joys of rank reset

@NuclearBurrito I forgot there was a pregame chat on PC lol XD
-
@NuclearBurrito unfortunately I'm on PS4 so there's no end game chat. To be fair though, I probably did the running thing when I first started this game XD
-
@TragicSolitude Yeah I'm getting to that point too, I was so sure he was gonna stop. If I'd known he'd go that far I would have left him XD
-
@Mister_xD Yeah XD it's just the utter waste of time when they do that lol. If I can't find anyone to heal me I'll hop on a gen.
No that match didn't go well, David was on the ground, Ace was hooked and I didn't watch where I was going and stepped in a trap, got 1 hooked :(
*sigh* too altruistic

OoO does nothing but promote toxic bahavior.
there is no other use to the perk other than gaining the killers attention, which basically translates to "hey, come and get me if you can, while i keep calling out your position to my team mates and loop you into oblivion!"
imo its one of the worst designed perks ingame.
as a killer, whenever i see OoO, this person dies first, since i see it as them basically announcing, they believe they would still be able to easily beat me, even though they continuously reveal their position to me.
not to mention, that it suck out the fun for many of the killers that rely on stealth / traps to work.
i am really hoping for changes to the perk. NO, NOT NERFS! changes. an activation condition would be a good start, like a reverse BBQ. or a complete overhaul of the current perk and completely new effects, like a mapwide bond or maybe an aura blocker.
I've not used OoO yet but that's mainly because I'm more of a sneaky player and don't think I'm the best looper. And since I play solo it would only benefit me. I wouldn't use it in the way you're suggesting and believe it or not there are people who just want to play the game properly.
But you're only viewing this from the Killer's perspective, as I've said before, trying to get the killer's attention is NOT toxic. It's a strategy and they're the bait/distraction. That's like saying 'tunneling is purely toxic and isn't a strategy'. Fair enough if they're teabagging and flashing you but that's not what is being discussed. There are toxic players on each side, I know - I was literally PM'd the other day by a team mate and called a loser (pretty tame but why even bother) because I escaped as he got downed.
Let's just all agree that people are idiots and need to turn down the (actual) toxic.

OoO is ok until you start taunt the killer with it. And in my opinion If you use it to provoke, even running in my direction to engage a chase is the purset form of disrepect and i wont tolerate that.
@Biohazard Running at the killer to distract them and waste time isn't toxic, YOU just think it is. As others have said, what they're doing is a tactic - same as slugging/camping etc.
-
OoO is a perk that puts the survivor at risk but gives them surveillance of the killer, how is that toxic? Seems like you might be using your own killer rule book too? *shrugs*

Maybe for Leather face but not Billy ๐ค Had a hardcore face camping Bubba this week. Managed to get 3 gens and 3 survivors off hooks but forgot he has his 'wild flail' animation and got downed (like an idiot) and he instantly put his chainsaw down and grabbed the unhooking person. Seemed a bit bs that he could stop the animation so quickly ๐คฃ his never ending reving definitely allows campers to camp extra hard.

I've only ever genuinely DCd because of a network problem, why should I lose a perk because my WiFi F'd up one time!? ๐คจ

If you're a new player without medkits it's reasonable to use but definitely shouldnt be using once you get medkits
Run we'll make it instead and heal potatos 4xs quiker then they would SC
If players learn SC is a bad thing and the meta shifts the game will get much more difficult for killers
@Might_Oakk I used to use self care all the time but now don't use it at all. I love 'We'll make it' - as long as survivors don't run away while I'm trying to heal them! Lol

In-game, the most toxic thing would be survivor & killer working together. Once I even had a killer and the other 3 survivors working together, farming me to dead in the beginning of the match and then they continued to farm together. (Of course, the killer let the survivors live.) That was when players on console didn't get banned. Survivors & killers working together did occur more often back then.
Had a survivor work with the killer. I had no idea as I was basically a ghost - no one saw me the entire round. If I'd paid more attention I would have realised but I'm dumb lol. Someone got moried and another DC'd. I managed to do 2/3 gens while they looked for me, it was one of my best sneaky rounds I'd ever had at that point. Then I bumped into the survivor, they pointed me out and followed me till the killer got me. It's just the ultimate betrayal you know? ๐คฃ I was not happy.
I didn't spectate to see what happened after - I hope they got moried lmao

If you buy the characters with auric cells and not the chapter with real money, you won't receive the exclusive cosmetics that come with the chapter.
Thanks but where do you actually buy it?
Oh wait, I'm dumb. It'll be in the PS store! Lol I was like "where on earth do you buy it but not in game?!". Thanks, my brain has unfrozen now ๐คฃ

Also buy it from the actual store not the in-game store if you want the exclusive bundle cosmetic.
Where would you buy the dlc at the out of game store, if you don't mind me asking? Had a look at their website but couldn't see anything. Does it work for all systems (as I'm on PS4)? Sorry I really have no idea ๐

You're lucky, I once played against a Killer with +1200ms!! Didn't realise till I started the match, would have left the lobby otherwise. Couldn't do gens, vault or unhook anyone. Could barely move without being pinged backwards or even teleporting to the other side of map. Ash was flying and falling for about 2 minutes as I watched (wish I'd saved the clip, was pretty funny). Of course we all died very quickly.
Sorry but players with connections this bad shouldn't be allowed to play killer! It's completely unfair, or at least people shouldn't be put in a lobby with them. Hopefully they sort out the servers soon so we don't have to rely on killer's connection.
-
I don't get it either... But also remember not every DC will be rage quitting (although they will probably be in the minority ๐). I've DCd a couple of times but never on purpose. Once when I genuinely disconnected and I was in the middle of opening an exit gate with 3 people left - I also lost my party streamers and a rank. Sad times ๐ฅ

Keys are rare as hell to find, even WITH Plunderer's Instinct (inb4 threads about nerfing Plunderer's #PlunderersOP)
Conditions have to be met for keys to even come into play.
To escape with a key:
All 4 survivors would have to complete all 5 gens (which arguably at that point, you were going to lose that match anyway)
1 survivor dead and the other 3 would have to have completed 4 gens and found hatch and all get there without the killer noticing
2 survivors dead, other two completed 3 gens and same conditions as above
or 3 survivors dead, and killer found hatch first and closed it.
In any case, keys are rare and don't affect your average game. I would argue Mori's are used a lot more than keys if your big complaint is that you feel robbed. Let's talk about those XD
The only time I've ever found a key in a chest and escaped: Was playing solo with an experienced Trapper with a far better rank than us. 2 people died and 1 gen left to do. The killer was VERY good at applying pressure so it was pretty obvious that at least 1 of us would die (or both) - we were both 1 hook away from death. I find the trap door and look for my other teammate to show them, I find her - search a chest and get a purple key (luckiest luck ever). I then lead the other survivor to the door and we escape.
I don't think it makes that much of a difference when you find keys as it's not always a definite escape. The killer still had more points than us. Moris on the other hand can completey change the match and kill people alot more quickly. 9/10 you're probably going to get to use the mori right? Not so much luck with keys.
-
It would be nice to get an additional thing for survivors to do. Maybe after the gens are done... Could be something like: you need to find some sort of in-map key (different from the keys you can take in) to open the gates as well as opening using the lever. Maybe the keys could be hooked on walls - there's always 1 in the basement. Or there is a separate little door next to one of the gates which you need a special in-map key to open but it shuts after 1 survivor goes through. So you can choose to find keys during the match or at the end. Might be dumb...
It's hard to think of what else survivors can do ๐ค
-
I usually try to do ruin gens by myself. Once did a gen to about 90% and 2 survivors joined me and they sparked it 4 times in a row. Lost so much progress.
I'd say practice on your own gen - I seem to get great skills check when I'm on my own than when I'm with someone else. Maybe it's the pressure? Lol. But don't be scared to keep doing the gen.
People often run around looking for the totem in the time they could have completed 1 - 2 gens... Or they never find it cause it's hidden too well. ๐
-
It goes both ways you know! I'm a solo survivor and have seen loads of toxic killers. More often than not I'm the random with a swf and always seem to get singled out and camped by the killer when I've not been toxic in the slightest. Yesterday I ran a Billy around the map for 5 gens because he refused to leave me alone - eventually was killed after gates were opened and the other 3 escaped. He would ignore everyone else in sight and literally go around looking for me until he found me. I wasn't even the first one he hooked! He hooked 2 other people within 30 secs - 1 min. Maybe he just hated my Jeff's smexy hair lol
Also had a purple rank Spirit camp me for no reason but didn't camp the other survivors. Just why...? It's not fun for the one person, especially if they are solo.
Also never teabagged a killer, I don't see the point as you're just wasting time...
-
@fluffymareep I use Spine Chill, Urban Evasion and then 2 others most of the time - usually an Exhaustion perk and a hook perk (say, Balanced Landing and We'll Make it). I'm extra sneaky in the beginning so I'm not found first. Learnt my lesson after following a player immediately and hearing the heartbeat after 2 secs and then bumping into the killer - then facecamped and with bear traps at every entrance. Was very fun lol. Yeah, I'll defo try do more totems as I usually forget.
But I've been playing today and it's been nowhere near as bad as it was last week. Thanks for info :)
-
@CornChip they really are the worst lol I almost had the opposite experience yesterday. Was playing against Spirit - I'm hiding in the corn and Dwighty Boi comes running into the field with the killer near by. I spent the majority of that match shouting at Dwight to stop running everywhere when the killer is right there lol. People need to learn when running/crouch walking is appropriate ๐คฃ And after I unhook Adam he runs round the corner and sits there for me to heal him. I'm just like "he dead" ๐
-
@savevatznick I think I'll try that for a bit but I like helping my team which gets me in trouble. Usually I manage a safe game or pip once but lately a can't even get that. For example I was playing with a 3 swf who all disconnect after 1 min cause they kept getting downed. I managed 1 gen and almost opened the gate but didn't let go in time and got grabbed and hooked ๐ I'm surprised the killer didn't want a chase, I can't imagine they got very many points ๐ค
-
@fluffymareep I'm rank 8 and been trying to get to rank 7 for the past 3/4 days. Everytime I get 4/5 pips I get teammates like these and lose all of them and it's back to lvl 9 ๐ฃ don't know if it's just bad luck or I'm losing it LOL but this has happened about 4 times in a row.
-
@CoffengMin I always do my teabag hello to fellow survivors ๐ - the particular ones in my example I had not seen yet.
