Who said I was insisting ob farming.its boring. I havent had a game today where my mates have done gens because solo survivor doesnt allow good teammates. They haven't been rushing #########, but killers remain greedy

How is the killer being greedy? By doing his best with the options available? You don’t want killers to slug, which is one of their stronger tools to secure kills? What are you giving up? Do you purposely work slower on gens, no you do your best.

  • @whammigobambam said:

It's almost like they are only playing killer to get the blood points and don't care about your fun especially when 9/10 there's a DC to make the farming faster for them.

You understand when a survivor DCs it’ll the killer isn’t required to go easy on the rest? In fact if one DCs they I really need to get maximum out of the remaining 3 players. Don’t blame the killer, blame your teammate. Although you won’t, you’ll rationalize them quitting because the killer wasn’t fun for them.

do killers have any other playstyle during this event? I'm getting off until the next update or at least until the event is over. Thx for being the worst community like usual :)

I agree, in fact I see survivors doing GEN GEN GEN... do they have any other play style during this event?

All seriousness, no one on either side is required to play any different than usual during double BP. Play as normal, do your best and accept double what you would have normally gotten.

Why do people insist on others farming during this event?

I get that. It is just so frustrating when we all could be maximizing our efforts to get the gates open and escape. It is what it is I guess.

Getting gates open and escaping isn’t a win though, PIPPING is usually most people’s goal. You need altruism to pip and unhook is the best way.

  • Getting unhooks is a lot of points and even more if you use WGLF of course people race their own teammate for it.

  • @bigbeefynacho said:

I've been in three straight matches wherein survivors spot me going for an unhook, only to sprint burst past me to grab it instead.

I'm okay to give you the unhook if you want it, but come on. There are gens to be repaired, totems to be cleansed.

Should I be frustrated by this? I thought we were a team. Sigh...

This is why I run Kindred, if I see I’m closest or I see the other 2 are staying on gens I go for the save. Otherwise I just keep doing a gen if someone else is already making a save

Yep even BBQ is decent, 50% on top is like free half party streamer

  • @LOA said:

Been racking it up with Spirit, Averaging about 29K a match, and just had a nice 32k. I dont even play her much, but babygirl wants them BPs!! Been using Ruin(cause I'm an ass), Sloppy, NURSE'S, and switching up the 4th.

If you have it go with BBQ, seeing where someone is can be great for spirit because then you can phase and head right there.

Also bonus BPs if you’re getting 29k base that turns into 97k with double event and bbq

Of course he's not garbage. People are upset because he got unfairly changed (90 degrees was a good compromise) but he's still not bad.

I think he’s kind of fun, I do feel weaker with him than a lot of other killers but I haven’t played him a lot so maybe with practice he could be closer to a good tier?

I never liked billy either though I’m not a fan of the charge up one hit powers honestly.

  • @Boss said:

I don't switch Killers for 2x BP, i stay on Wraith.

His Deviousness is super easy, i get quite the amount of hooks with Make Your Choice, i often break Pallets & he only M1s, and i start & end lots of chases due to the cloaking mechanism.

    B&C equipped too.

I refuse to use "The Beast" - Soot, it may boost Deviousness gains, but i find that to be the easiest category to get 8k by standard, and the negative of the Add-on can hurt my gains in other BP categories.

No Distressing, no Hex: Thrill of the Hunt, and no Beast of Prey.

I play a lot of wraith too, like you said he seems to get near max BP in most categories even against a good team. Getting 8 hooks and zero kills is actually my goal in most games especially during BP events. I like to see all five players get 20+ thousand base

Because for whatever reason she is picked by a lot of idiots as a main.

She starts with Quick and quiet, Sprint burst and adrenaline... she’s a solid first choice for a new player without teachables.

I think this makes a lot of people assume megs are newbies

  • Beast, thrill and distressing don’t actually give bonus points though, they just help you reach the cap of 8000 in the category. Generally I find using a solid build I get close to 32k anyways even without “winning.”

I like him more than Billy TBH, i tried going back to billy but his straight lines are pretty meh. I like with Oni you don't need to dash to get the insta down. do xbox red ranks count -_-

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/224/B7ZPHOA2SRFX.png

Barely red rank survivor, this far into the new rank reset model, isn’t really going to prove he’s strong. You most likely could have gotten the same results with any other killer.

  • @The_Second_Coming said:

We do - but first they need to get rid of both the bugs causing people to crash/DC against their will so innocents don't get banned, and the reasons people DC if they really want people not to DC. I'm not talking about "oh I died", but they should make it more worthwhile for killers not to tunnel and camp. As well as fixing hitboxes. I would DC too if I got hit by a Huntress hatchet that hit the air 6 feet to my left. I've seen it happen.

Stop with this “survivors DC because tunneling is unfun.” I’ve had so many survivors DC against me as killer, or when they are on my team, as soon as they get downed the first time.

Can they see the future, so they know the killer is going to facecamp or tunnel them? No, but they know the killer is capable of downing them and that’s “unfun.” They DC to get a game and hold the next killer is bad and can be looped for five gens

When moris get balanced we can do something about hatch

Way to go with your stock answer for anyone mentioning hatch. He wasn’t stating it’s unfair to killer, he’s stating it’s unfair and annoying to your teammates and I agree. As solo queue survivor I’ve had a lot of teammate hide in lockers waiting for me to die so they can have hatch.

Yes I could do the same but that’s not fun, I’ll take the chase but you can believe when I get hooked I will struggle the entire minute hoping the killer finds the other person too.

I hardly ever run Dead Hard because it's even more unreliable on console than it is on PC, but I've been trying it the last few times I've played. HOLY CRAP am I getting tunneled. It's almost every single game. Is this something that really triggers killers? It's not like I'm not putting on Balanced and using Haddonfield offerings. I've gone from red to one more tunnel away from green because of it. When I play killer and I find someone good at being chased, I tend to leave and see if I can find someone else who isn't as good. It seems that killers are like, "Welp you wasted my time so you're going to die, regardless of everyone else escaping easily." There have been three Doctor games tonight alone where because of pure bad luck on spawn, he makes me scream about six seconds into the game and I don't even see a gen before I'm tunneled into the next lobby.

So, console survivors who run DH - do you experience this too or is tonight just extra spicy for me for some reason?

Not trying to justify, but a lot of played DH for distance to drop a pallet and then teabag said pallet, THAT will get tunnels from a lot of killers (not me)

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/958193#Comment_958193

    Ok let me explain;

Hexes, yes can be cleansed but waste a decent amount of time for the survivors to find them, plus the extra time to cleanse.

Sloppy butcher with thanatophobia, dying light has to be one of if not the best combo for plague and legion,it slows the game a lot.

It is also godly for the "forever Freddy build"

Overcharge with pop have great synergy (I can admit this combo is one of my guilty pleasures). Overcharge stacks with huntresses lullaby (would be great to stack with ruin too....tho it doesn't)

Surge, pretty bad,I just added it because it is a generator interaction perk...

    Plus some perks that I was bored to write so I put etc;

Corrupt intervention (sorry if I spelled it wrong) one of if not the best slowing the game down perks, godly on the trapper and the hag because it allows them to set up their traps with less stress of gens pop.

Surveillance, pretty decent information perk, goes well with overcharge and pop.

Discordance (again sorry if it is misspelled) again an awesome information perk, goes great with mobile killers (freddy, Billy)

Thrilling tremors, decent information and slowing objective completion perk if you play a killer that can easily down a survivor, also great information perk.

    Then there are perks that gives you bonuses if a gen is completed;

Bitter murmur, decent information perk, good for everyone tbh.

Rancor, decent information perk, only downside is that it gets countered by swf because of the information that the obsession gives.

Tinkerer, the only perk that can make the oni silent, tho I can say pretty useless since it can pop mid chase.

Unnerving presence, good on low ranks but imo it just helps the survivors hit great skillchecks xd.

Franklin's demise, doesn't slow the game down a lot but it forces them to search for their items (also one of my guilty pleasures)

Hex;no one escapes death (noed) best clutch perk.

    Plus all the builds to slow the game down;

    Forever plague,legion,Freddy

    Impossible skillchecks doctor

    Etc.

If you want to slow the game down, pick one of these builds. I personally love my no generator builds on doctor (overcharge, pop, ruin,Franklin's demise) or (destressing, unnerving presence, ruin,a perk of your choice)

I don't know if you guys are console players or PC players, but as a PC player I can tell you that if I get gen rushed,is probably because of my own fault, not the game's.

What do you think? Let me know by quoting on this comment.

Except once Ruin goes you’re basically playing with one perks, Pop, against most survivors.

Taking a medkit or toolbox doesn’t really hurt most players too much plus you have to hit them first so they’ve already gotten some use. And I can’t remember the last time I missed Overcharge unless it was paired with Lullaby.

  • Tofus theory about SWF could be part of it, but I seriously think the bigger factor is in fact less killers now. I used to play 75% killer and now I’ve flipped it, some days I only wanna play survivor and only play killer if the survivor queues are sooo sooo bad or if I have multiple killer dailies.

Playing killer in red ranks is not fun, anyone who belongs in red ranks will force the chase to be about a minute at least which means 2-3 gens popping. Having all 5 gens done by the tint I’ve hooked 3 people once is no fun sorry. And no I don’t just need to git gud, there is a clear Imbalance at red ranks. I’ve been in so many sooo survivor games lately where I never even see the killer because my teammates are so good at looping. Doing five gens and leaving is boring AF honestly.

I have no numbers to back it up, but then again neither do people who say “killers haven’t quit playing.”

  • @Atrushan88 said:

This is silly. Spine Chill lights up before you even hear a terror radius, thus your ears are pointless in that situation. If your eyesight is blocked(which is often the case) near a gen, you can't use your eyes. Spine Chill gives you a head start in a chase, it allows you to keep a killer searching your gen without finding you for a while, and if you have a gen or heal almost done, or autodidact, it helps tremendously. Also helps against stealth killers extremely well, and Spirit. It's not a noob perk just because you don't lolthere to use it. Also yes, some people use it wrong, but you don't base a perk's worth on the people who use it incorrectly. That's like saying We'll Make It is bad because people unhook you then run to a corner expecting you to follow them.

Greet points, I think the people saying it’s useless if you have eyes and ears are playing against bad killers.

A good pig, wraith, Ghostface or Myers can sneak up on you using LoS blockers on most maps. These people saying it’s a noob perk can obviously see the bad killers coming because they walk straight across an open field.

  • Four killers in 2019... plague, Ghostface, demo and Oni

  • @Frashu said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/957586#Comment_957586

I mean, pretty much? Forty seconds isn’t that long. If someone uses their sprint burst while not knowing where the killer is or if the killer is busy with someone else, that’s their fault. It’s not sprint burst’s. You have to play around your perk, your perk doesn’t play around you, right? And people who walk around the map aren’t that inefficient. When I play killer against a sprint burst squad, they do just fine walking until I get up to them, using sprint burst like dead hard and zooooooom.

So they do okay avoiding that first attack, but they walked from gen to gen... if a gen takes 80 seconds and you run to it from another gen you’re looking at 90 seconds including travel time. If you walk it can be more like 100. That’s significant time.

    @bumbewildered said:

Imo Spine Chill is a beginner perk like Bond, Self Care,, and Windows of Opportunity. They are useful but when you know the information they give without using the perks their effectiveness drops.

I use kindred, you probably think it’s a beginner perk. No amount of experience will tell you In a solo queue if you’re the closest to rescue someone from hook, or if another teammate is already in their way.

Bond has a huge range too, if I’m on the game map and I have an idea of where the two closest gens are, no amount of experience is going to tell me which one another teammate is working on already.

Limping bond into the same category as windows of opportunity is a terrible comparison.

Im guessing you think Whispers is a beginning perk for killers too?

  • Relates to this, so you notice Object of obsession users DCing a lot in your games?

I swear it’s like most of them run it because they want to taunt the killer and think they can loop and bully you the whole game because they see streamers do it... they you down them first and they DC.

Yestesay had an OoO that camped and dropped like 10 pallets then as soon as I got her she DC, she screwed her team over so hard making it 3 vs 1 and using up a lot of safe spots.

  • @Frashu said:

I played with Spinechill for a while. But I realized that some perks work more consistently for me and I was using spinechill as a crutch. I wasn’t using my ears or camera enough. Will it save you from giving a stealth killer a free hit? Sure, occasionally. But even if its a stealth killer its only a one in four chance they are coming for you. Spine chill gives crazy misinformation on maps with two levels. And there are perks that work more consistently. Better is a matter of opinion, but Spine Chill has won me less chases than adrenaline. No contest. I agree with a previous poster that if you want a head start, Sprinto Bursto. Boom. Head start and consistent every time.

Every time? So when you get to a gen and just start working on it and the killer gets to you, sorry sprint burst isn’t helping you there it’s on cool down.

Unless you walk everywhere to save sprint burst, which UGH

By saying that i ment that the Killer who was rank 12 did not even had the slightest chance against the survivor, it was extremly boring for me. I dont want to play vs Rank 12 Killers and i doubt a rank 12 wants to verse me.

This! I don’t even care if I escape as survivor or get any kills as killer.

If there were good chases, if I get to make a couple nice mind game plays to catch someone or escape a chase, that’s a fun game in my mind.

The only thing that I can consider useful is the increase (that 9%)

And once again if you have experience on this game you dont need from this perk to counter stealth killers.

How do I know if the killer is mindgaming with this perk?

And that vault speed isn't a reason to use it, it is a minimum diference...

Fast vault: 0.075 seconds (With resilience+spine chill) so it is most likely 0.035 only with spine chill.

You will barely notice something and with those broken window hitboxes and dedicated server it is just straight trash.

    @laurelstroodle said:

"Dont know how to use it"

Wrong, used it for 1 month, and you know why I take it off from my build? cause stealth isn't viable (and spine chill is a stealth perk)with a killer that has good eyes, looping will always be better and waste more time.

Again, stop basing your comments about stealth killers being weak and being able to see them coming a mile away on your games against lame killers. It’s clear to see what happens, streamers start using Wraith so everyone copies it except they play it wrong. They don’t sneak using line of sight blockers, they run straight across open ground so of course you see them coming.

Play against a good killer using wraith or pig and let me know that they never get the jump on your from around a corner.

  • @laurelstroodle said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/956114#Comment_956114

Most stealth killer make a noise:

Ghostface: When he is moving he make a noise

Pig: You can hear pig breathing

Myers: Has a loud af breathing

Wraith: Needs to uncloack and he isn't 100% invisible

So if you have ears, some good eyes, good prediction and you are experienced you dont need from this perk.

You say you’re insulting the perk, not the people, but your earlier posts suggest otherwise.

  • You’re running bond and kindred, and telling us we’re wasting a slot on spine chill... thank you for ending my year with a laugh

  • Yes.

Also you can't see a smart Wraith on most maps, they use objects to block LOS. Honestly the more you talk the more I think you go against green rank killers that have no clue what they're doing.

I like spine chill, I'm sure you're using perks I feel are unnecessary as well but everyone has to go with what is best for them.

Out of curiosity what is your "go to build," four perks

Im saying that cause most spine chill user do that, they think the killer is coming only because the perk light up for 1 milisecond, and stay in that locker for 1 minute.

    (The killer didn't come btw)

Believe what you want, the perk is over rated and not that useful.

And most stealth killers are weak/no one playing them and that's the pro of spinechill, so we can say it is a situational perk.

Plenty of people are playing Wraith now because of Trutalent, again you have clearly made up your mind so there's no point trying to convince you otherwise.

Sounds are bugged so we can't take that as an argument right now.

It is USEFUL on some special scenarios, but most of the time it isn't.

And the bonus isn't that much for sacrificing 1 perk slot, when you have better perks.

I also see people running much worse perks and wasting a slot. How many people use Head on, and that is useful in way less scenarios than Spine Chill if you ask me. But not all 4 perks have to be meta, I can play silly builds even in red ranks and pip or black pip nearly every game. Have some fun.

  • @laurelstroodle said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/956287#Comment_956287

If you avoid chases and the killer you will most likely not pip.

Enjoy that green rank teammates lol

It's not just avoiding chases, avoiding the FIRST chase can be huge. It means you have that extra time to work on your first gen, and it gives you a better chance to make saves if you're not the first one hooked and spending all game injured or possibly even tunneled.

It doesn't even have to help you avoid a chase at all, giving you a heads up to start the chase in better position is huge. It lets you work on gens in weak positions knowing you can get to the nearest safe loop to start the chase. This can change a chase from 20 seconds to over a minute or whatever depending on looping skills of you and the killer.

  • You've already made up your mind, no matter what people say you think it's garbage and want to insult people that use it, cool. TO each his own I like that fact that even with his bell addon Wraith can't sneak up on me around a corner.

  • Same thing for Wraith I believe

Just had a game against 4 red ranks, with ALL of them running self care. When did THIS happen? When did we go from the "dont heal" meta to the "selfcare behind a tree" meta? Anyone else notice selfcare picking up popularity?

Because Red Ranks are easy to get to now, and once you get there you won't ever fall too far out even at rank reset you'll go to Purple and be right back to Red almost immediately.

I have seen players crouching for minutes at a time while another teammate is looping the killer, hiding in lockers way too long, etc.

  • @PistolTimb said:

I really love Sprint Burst. People tend to fall into the trap of walking everywhere, though. Using the sprint to find a safe gen is the most optimal way of running it. Often it will be ready to be used again by the time the killer finds you, or the gen is done. And if they killer does find you, then you use the safe loops around you. I run it with spine chill so I can always keep on top of what the killer is doing, and move accordingly depending on what killer it is.

Pros: crazy speed on a dime, guaranteed to work, perfect for repositioning.

Cons: has to be wasted (which leaves you vulnerable for 40+ seconds), or preserved (which wastes time walking everywhere).

I use the same way, I run like I normally would. If I end up on a gen long enough to have it and a killer sneaks up on me then away I go.

  • @Tr0g said:

That is why you listen to feedback from both sides, particularly the better players. What the devs seem to do is listen to the masses who play survivor.

It’s not that they listen to one side more, it’s that they listen to everyone across all ranks and that makes balance VERY HARD.

Players think Myers is OP, people think Oni is still OP, people think BBQ is a crutch perk, people think sprint burst need nerfed, the list goes on and on for both sides

  • I’m siding with everyone who says this is a bad idea, or at least needs a set limit or minimum.

I can play Freddy in the red ranks, I have a lot of time in this game, I am nowhere near the best, but if I take Billy against rank 20 or even 15 survivors that game is going to be a steamroll. Knowing map tiles, mind gaming like hiding your red glow, etc is going to be enough even if I don’t “know the killer.”
