Well that one being worked on could have just been started or close to finish but you deciding not to try is not their fault. I mean there is always point to travel if you only see one gen being worked on why not go towards that one to TRY and delay it? If it is the only one you still have time but deciding it's to late or to far to try is on you. I would rather try then well look for others who are doing nothing at all. I normally run Pop Goes the Weasel so I hook and then I see a gen being worked on I run to it. If it pops at least I tried and I can then decide to try to get that survivor or just head to a closer gen near me.

I am not saying you are bad at the game at all because believe me I am horrible. I just think the whole not try because it is pointless part is hurting you.

Fair point, but if it’s start if the game and a gen pops in roughly 40-50 seconds you know two survivors did it. Assuming that the third survivor spawned at that other gen is an assumption I’m willing to make, by that point and with travel it’ll pop before you make it

I am happy you get a team that knows to do totems. I have actually gave up playing currently because of bad teams and NOED. I cannot do all the gens AND the totems. I have started running Small Game to find the totems but as I do them no joke I do not see any gens get done. If I go and do gens then totems get left. I have decided to go to other games at least for now.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/139087/i-m-done-feeling-bad-or-like-a-bad-killer-for-noed

Now to this post personally I can't imagine every game is exactly like the one described here to justify needing to use NOED in every match. I mean from my experience yes 1 or 2 gens pop before I get maybe even one hook some games but then other games I get 2 or 3 hooks before a second gen pops. Every game is different and I feel like you are trying to justify using NOED to make yourself feel better about needing it but I say if you want to use it then use it. =)

I also have to say if you VERY CLEARLY dominate and outclass the survivors then why are you having multiple games that all end the same? It doesn't sounds like you CLEARLY dominate them then. I am not calling you a baby at all and it could be that you just had a run of bad luck and maybe people who were SWF and that alone I hear is hard to deal with. It almost sounds like you do want that easy 4k at least to me and sorry if that comes off mean. I really am not trying to. You said the math is not in your favor to 3-hook people before gens pop. You are right and if you can then that is a team of potatoes and that is WAAAAY to easy then. I like the challenge and I have had games where 3 gens popped in 4 minutes and still got 3k win because the survivors cornered themselves and I do not use NOED. Every game is different but in the end use WHATEVER perk you want that makes you happy.

Oh there are plenty of games I get outplayed hard, people who can loop me for minutes at a time depending on what killer I’m using... to those people I say kudos you’re better than me!!! I tell them so after game too.

Im talking about when I literally head to a gen and find a survivor on, so that’s QUICK, surprise them with Wraith so that’s QUICK, and then mind game them at the very first pallet to down them that is all QUICK. Meanwhile just from travel time and that small speed boost he got from first hit one gen popped and BBQ shows me one being worked across the map by one person so there is no point to travel there.

They did something that was ban worthy, which you are either not telling us, or they didn't tell you. It's as simple as that. The devs require an act of recorded murder with a confession, and a pinky swear that they ACTUALLY meant to do the bad thing, before they will even consider banning.

This, I remember someone swore up and down that all he did was face camped someone and got banned, the defenders were coming in from all sides... the devs and mods told him to stop talking about it again and again and again, the defenders kept growing... and finally someone shared a screenshot of him literally threatening to visit someone's house and do violent things to them as well as a lot of racist comments.

  • Bloodpoints are a VERY SMALL factor to a lot of people, many people have everything maxed out if you think BP will significantly impact DC I hate to break it to you but no. I see people bring in their own BPS and then still DC as soon as they go down lol.

  • @ohheyitsbobcat said:

I feel like there is more going on here then what we know. People do meme games all the time on both sides and I've never heard of someone getting banned for it. Youtubers/Streamers have a ton of videos of them doing such things as well and aren't banned so I'm definitely thinking something else is going on.

First off did he get banned from just DBD or on whatever platform he's on? It's also possible he did do something in the game that could have been considered an exploit? Without seeing the game it's hard to say.

Honestly, unless they changed their policy recently, I find it very hard to believe it's as simple as "I played a meme game and got banned". If I was your friend I'd have him try and dispute it and get more details to why he got banned.

Edit: Here's the support link. https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=228543

I'm gonna go with, "more to the story for 500 Alex."

I've played endgame builds w NOED and BW, basement bubba builds guarding a chest, etc and noone had reported me or if so I haven't heard about it.

I feel like something was left out, like his lawn covered three gens and he refused to let people do them and also didn't both downing anyone or something like that.

Why should survivors feel bad for using DS if killers don't have to feel bad for using NOED?

This is the thing, NOONE should feel bad for using ANY perk... and likewise NOONE should call anyone out for using ANY perk or addons. If it's in the game it's fair play. Too many people only validate their side though, killers and survivors are both guilty of this.

You can run BT, DS, Dead Hard and Adrenaline if you want for example but you can't complain the killer ran NOED and Blood Warden. Likewise a killer can run NOED, Infectious Fright, Enduring and Spirit Fury but then they can't complain about Flashlights and DS.

  • @brokedownpalace said:

I don't understand the need for validation in so many people's choices in this game. I have my opinions on NOED, but play how you want. At the same time I think some trash talk about needing NOED to get kills is acceptable, as long as it doesn't go too far. It's like using the M4 in Modern Warfare. Or, in DBD, only escaping at the end because you hit your DS. It requires significantly less skill to escape in that situation if you have DS, just like it requires significantly less skill to secure kills with an active NOED in the end game. Doesn't mean you're necessarily bad at the game, but you are using strong perks that allow you to overcompensate for mistakes you make.

I agree on those points, I have been red rank as killer without using NOED and without playing Nurse/Spirit at the time so I don't have anything to prove to myself. I have developed good habits IMO, so if I want to supplement that with NOED fair is fair.

The same as survivor, there are times we all lurk around trying to figure out how to coordinate that last minute save... then there are games I have BT so I just run in and do it lol.

  • @Blister987 said:

Have you ever seen a killer so bad that you thought that he has NOED 100%? Now compare it with the times that you saw a good killer and thought that he has NOED. Yeah, the second case is inexistent because they don't have it . You're trash for running, no one blames you because running low tier killers is a death sentence, but you're still trash.

I disagree, I have had plenty of games when the killer plays great in terms of pressure and mind games and then at the end BAM NOED... I remember thinking, did not see that coming from a "good killer."

As long as the survivor team has a map or small game and aren't lazy, the totems aren't an issue...unless you're using bloody coil traps.

Good point Not being lazy is the thing, ever since Ruin changed survivors don’t feel the need to do totems so they just slam Gens...

As survivor I run Detective hunch and make sure I keep totems on pace with gens and very rarely have I been hit with NOED so it clearly is counterable

unbreakable - lets you complete the bar 35% and lets you get up instantly once (after which you can get up just like you said with no perk, while keeping your 35% progression rate)

no mither - lets you get up every time (normal completion rate)

no perk - lets you complete the bar to 95%, then after 30-40 more seconds of being slugged you are able to get up.

    I don't see a problem

Alternatively have one if your teammates that isn’t be chased get off a gen to pick you up... I can’t count the number of times I’ve recovered fully, drug myself halfway across the map to two teammate who were doing a gen together while the last got chased for over a minute

  • The further my point, it would be like watching Tom Brady get bullied on the basketball court and pleading, “guys he is an NFL player not an NBA player but look how hard it is for him.”

Here's the full match for everyone saying that because it wasn't a full match it wasn't sufficient evidence.

Also remember. This player is a hag main, not a huntress main. It's not exactly easy to consistently land cross map hatchets unless you've sunk around 2,500 hours into huntress alone

Uhm, if he hasn’t practiced huntress he SHOULD have problems playing her against good players

  • The thing is you can afk and play, if that makes sense... Bubba with insidious NOED BW and wait for survivors in the basement. If one goes for chest you’re gold, otherwise you lose

How? The equivalent would be nodding after you get downed and hitting on the hook.

How do you abuse a loop? Never heard of that. You just play the loop.

When people say “abuse the loop,” they’re generally referring to whole teams that instantly run up the “near infinite,” of the map like on ironworks of misery. Knowing it takes 2-3 loops and nearly a minute for a killer to catch you for even one hit it’s a guaranteed loss if the killer chases people there.

The problem is it’s e smart thing to do as a survivor so it’s hard to blame them, we have only BHVR to blame for poor map design

True, but at least Double Chess Doc and all those other costly ones will be finished. Tier-III Myers achievement will be super-difficult though.

The problem is rarity doesn’t mean “rare,” you can generally get the ultra rare every blood web and it’s easy enough as killer go get 50+ thousand just using BBQ

I've thought of a similar thing, but strictly limited to add-ons. It'd work out in numbers that you could take an Iri, but were limited to a brown add-on secondary.

youre probably right considering how varied perks Powers are based on killer, just starting with addons would be nice. It would have prevented Prayer beads/fathers ring spirit, forever Freddy, Iri huntress with 3 shots, if it was based on specific addons and not colors it could even stop instasaw Billy/bubba

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

There was no key present, so I have no clue what you're complaining about there.

As for Iri-heads and an Ebony, it's disgusting and most builds like this are just "I want four kills, forget having fun with it."

Maybe if there was a way to restrict how many iridescent items/add-ons were equipped at once, then it might make these items less infuriating to see, and make killers both use them sparingly and powerful without mindlessly stomping people.

All addons and perks should have a “point level,” and you have a certain amount for your build. Wanna bring Iri heads and a mori, fine but your second addon has to be gray and you get no perks.

As survivor wanna being DS and BT, fine but you don’t get any exhaustion perk and any flashlight/toolbox/medkit has to be gray as well.

Obviously values would have to be looked at but I think you get my point

  • @Fog_King said:

From what I have seen, matches were there is no obsession tend to make the killer tunnel more the same person that was just unhooked, because they know that no one has DS so they can just hunt down and hook the same person again, without any consequences. The idea of always having an obsession, even if there are not obsession perks in the match, seems to be a good idea.

okay, also make all offerings secret that way the survivors don’t know if the killer attempts to use a mori and No one knows if anyone selected a certain map

  • Ghostface is fun, he brings the scary/suspense factor back. His stall is so bad and buggy it should probably be looked into, but you’re right just having zero terror radius with a decently short cool down is amazing

  • @tippy2k2 said:

I don't use DS and I survive (relatively) often.

As I said in another thread, I found it didn't come into play more often than not. Whether that's my luck or killers are getting smarter about it is up for debate I suppose.

Either way, I'd rather have a good perk that is always in play rather than a great perk to have but only useful in certain situations. Sure, I miss DS in those situations but that's the gamble I take.

The problem is if No one on your team is the obsession the killer knows he is safe from DS... if at least one person has it then being without it isn’t so bad because the killer will leave you 9/10 times especially at high ranks assuming you have it.

If someone is the obsession I even fake the locker DS and killers leave me alone more often than not. I had one killer stare at the locker for about 70-80 seconds before grabbing me out, I didn’t even have DS but it bought my team a lot of time

  • You aren’t wrong, I run DS every game just so the killer at least has to consider that everyone may have it

He is not A-Tier, not at all.

I've been playing for 3 years total now, I know what's wrong and good. It's fine that this is a debate, but she does. Throw a hatchet at close range, and she recovers. She literally has a built in cool down after a hatchet hit.

I'm sending a video, that explains this perfectly on how.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgSCNmficmU

I know Tru3 doesn't really have a good reputation here, but truly this explains why she's just better in general. She can get more than two downs by the time Deathslinger gets 1.

Tru insisted on using spear for every bit, which isn’t needed and is the least optimal way to play him IMO. Watch someone like Tofu who lands a lot of first hits without the gun, meaning his second hit comes faster due to no reload.

Also this “downing two people,” starts with downing someone who is at the hook already injured. It’s not like he landed four hits in the time slinger got two

  • @brokedownpalace said:

People seem to be missing the point that when Yui was released I saw a ton of her and still do. When Nancy and Steve were released I saw a ton of them and they're still fairly common. Every new survivor has had a big burst of use upon release. So survivors being skins is not really relevant to what I'm talking about. Zarina seems like the least played new survivor as far back as I can remember

Her design is just “meh,” but that’s my opinion. Steve and Nancy were gonna get play because they are Stranger things. And people leveled Jane for head on so they played her on the way or just at low levels even to fool around.

Also each time the survivor grind takes longer so each time you’re gonna see less of new survivors unless they are really special

  • @SurvivorsAreRuined said:

How is it fair killers get ultra rare add ons and ultra rare offerings that can literally prevent someone from playing your game?

Keys would like a word with you, literally ZERO gens done, I close the hatch and patrol both doors someone still gets out how did he “play the game?”

  • @Peanits said:

This is just a theory and I obviously can't say for sure without copious amounts of research, but I feel like a big part of that is because as time goes on and more and more survivors are added, most people have just found a survivor that they like. Back when the game first came out and there were only four survivors, you might not be too crazy about any of them, so a new survivor that's more up your alley would totally be worth switching to.

It's way harder to dethrone a favourite, though. I already like Dwight and Nea, for example. For me to switch to another survivor, I would have to really like them. I'm willing to bet that with a cast of 20 (now 21) survivors, most people have already found their Dwight/Nea – especially when they've gone the extra mile and started collecting cosmetics for them.

I can see the grind part too, although I don't think it's nearly high enough to stop you from playing the survivor you really want.

I mean sure, but it probably doesn't hurt that it takes about 7.7 to 8.9 million to P3 perk out a new survivor... Like I love the new survivors back story and look, but as I've already put all my effort into Kate, Jeff, and Tapp... I am just getting to lazy to farm up that much BP to P3 Perk out a new survivor...

A little of column A and a lot of Column B... I really like Meg I identify with her as a runner myself, but even if liked the new survivor it would be hard for me to justify actually getting her past 40 to learn all the perks. The grind is absolutely too LONGGGGGGGGGG

  • the Buzzard will be a future chapter killer, similar to how Oni and Spirit chapters are related lol

  • @LetsPlayTogether said:

Its not new. Since his rework you will find more than enough threads about him being "braindead" to play. And in total, thats right. As survivor you cannot track all pallets down, and there is no chance to know the longer the game goes on. Also his snares are braindead too, just put three, four five at a loop and get safe downs. Rinse and repeat. Oh i forget, just port back to hooks with a gen nearby, for a safe tunneling down. Pretty good job so far.

Counter argument he isn’t “brain dead.” As far as spamming snares they don’t work if you’re awake, so when you fall asleep either fail a check or head to the alarm, sorry we interrupt holding M1 on the gen.

  • @Ryuhi said:

the 4 perks per bloodweb change helped a TON, but it still doesnt address how expensive buying meta addons can be for killers (and i guess offerings for survivors)

Def a step in the right direction, but it can still be pretty daunting.

Another problem is every killer makes it harder to get those 5-10 “needed perks.” Like I didn’t get BBQ level 1 on my Deathslinger until the 70th level that is absurd

  • @Deathslinger said:

I like the grind but wish I had offerings to bump it to BBQ n Chili levels of bp. I’m a lil sick of running it forever.

They could literally make 4 perks better than BBQ in every single way like range, duration, etc and if they didn't give Bonus BP I would still run BBQ every game on every killer.

  • It's because he has the ability to stop the "normal looping," it's the same reason Doctor is unfun or OP now according to survivors. One of the reasons Spirit is OP/Unfun/easy and so on and so on.

The basic survivor accepted formula is 1. See killer coming 2. work on gen until last moment possible 3. get to nearest loop and loop it exactly 3 times then drop pallet 4. run when killer kicks 5. repeat

  • @Terra92 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1160426#Comment_1160426

Sorry you feel that the completion doesn't end fast enough, but isn't that kind of the point? You're not really supposed to cap out every survivor, just the ones yu like to play, as they're all the same in terms of potential. Killers will still take ~9 bloodwebs to cap off if you've gotten everything else.

No no, I’m fine with it sorry I want meaning I’m upset with it really. But think of a brand new player, I’m sure at low ranks most killers are okay with just their own perks or the non-exclusive perks but once you get between 10-15 you will struggle a bit without “meta perks.”

Same for survivor, they’re just skins but having a few critical perks makes thinks easier. Now here I will say playing Meg with her perks and non-exclusives is plenty good. That’s how I started and why she’s my main even after I’ve unlocked everything.

But poor Joe Schmo sees a streamer playing Gunslinger with MA, nurse, BBQ and Sloppy and thinks if he just puts enough effort into deathslinger he can do the same... nope you’re gonna have to level 3 other killers to 40 first.

I don’t feel it’s too much of a grind for me/us but for new players it is overwhelming. Games need a goal, but this one is a bit much at times

I guess but pretty much since I started playing again David’s seem more infuriating tho I also get being annoyed with master blendettes who run spine chill and are harder to see than wrath

So one possible answer is their personal perks, David has DH so a lot of players see streamers using it and they MAY be toxic so they copy that

  • @kamisen said:

@johnmwarner Damn. If you don't mind me asking, how many hours do you have in this game?

@mouse0270 Oh yes, let's not talk about p3'ing a character. It's just not reasonable when you have unlocked all teachables.

It’s hard to say, I leave my game open while at work sometimes or wander away so that contributes to my time in steam. It says 5000 but I would guess 3-ish actually playing and I have watched and read a lot how to min max blood webs I also play BBQ literally every killer game

  • Nope, so when people see a hidden offering they assume mori and “crash.”

Killers are guilty as well if they get a bad map offering.

  • @Mo4ntus said:

I made a post about a David complaining I wall hack on Tuesday and today a red rank David complained that I tunneled him when he was the last person I killed. So this got me thinking and I realized that I rarely get as much salt as I do then when I face red rank David’s.

I think it’s observation bias, I tend to think Claudettes are the most toxic, especially teabagging blendettes

  • You aren’t kidding, just to put it in perspective before deathslinger release I had ALL perks on all my killers and three survivors. I had capped 1 million blood, plus dailies, plus rift challenges unturned in, plus I bought morning and evening from shrine...

My slinger still doesn’t have all perks, only 3 killers have his teachable, my Karina is barely 40 and only 1 survivor has her perks. I was as prepared as possible and am still struggling, I can’t imagine a new player who didn’t know all the possible prep tricks

  • @xEa said:

I have waited a while to judge, it might be still a bit early, but i dont see my opinion change anytime, until they make something with that killer.

Let me explain why i hate Deathslinger with all my heart and he is by far the worst killer to verse and to play right now (imho!)

He has 0 mobility therefore no genpressure. In that sense, he reminds me about the clown. All survivors do is sit on gens and do them as quickly as possbile.

In chase you have absoluty no chance and almost no defense at all (beside los and distance), a good Deathslinger willl use quickscope mechanic and gets every single shot. He reminds me off a Huntress on Crack.

Therefore it is Genrush vs super fast Killspeed. It is also almost impossible to get anything better then low gold on chaser emblem vs him (against a good one ofc).

Idk how you guys see that, but for me this is extremly boring and a very bad, frustrating experience versing him.

Playing Deathlinger is the same, you get genrushed most of the time and you end chases within less then 15 seconds, especially when you have safe the best for last. It is so extreme and not fun at all.

I dont have any good sugestion right now how to fix that killer, i think he is just broken. i know many of you are hyped and enjoy him because he is new, but he is definitly not healthy for the game in a long run. At least not if he stays that way.

How do you feel about deathslinger?

    Kind regards

You’re spot on, he doesn’t necessarily give you a great chance to “win,” but if you really want a certain survivor you’re getting him. Reminds me of old Legion who you could just frenzy 4 times basically no matter how good they were at looping

so that if a survivor isn't paying attention a killer can actually hook the person where they want

You're talking about wiggling on the shoulder... we're talking about struggling during second hook stage those are two different things.

What gameplay or skill is this exactly? It’s pressing a button somewhat quickly, that’s all. Most of us have had at least one occurrence of lag making us “give up,” which stinks for us and the team.

To the people arguing against this I say what is the value of keeping it? So you can quit when he game starts poorly for you

It's a good add-on if you're able to use it. 15 meters out of 18 is a hard shot and you'll be lucky if it's in the open. I've had it used 5 times in one match.

This is the problem it’s so specific, I get that it’s a one shot down but you have to be 15-18 meters away and does anyone know if that means when you hit them or fire?

If it means when you hit them then someone at 15 meters could accidentally move into 14 as you shoot, someone at 17-18 wild be missed if they kept running away.

I am in the boat where I have over 1.6k hours, I know what I am doing on the game, consider myself pretty competent at survivor, but due to play solo queue, having a social life, having a full time job, and a girlfriend that likes to spend the vast majority of my freetime together I am left unable to get up in ranks before the next rank reset shunts me back down.

I don't think the majority of people 'smurf', I just think the rank system from the very first inception has been a poor experience, that only works for the people that have lots of free time, or those fortunate enough to have crafted a streaming/content creating career and somewhat rely on proving they are one of the best by some sort of figure.

Listen, I have a social life, kids etc but it literally takes 4-5 pips to get back to your prior rank if you’re really telling me that this many people don’t play two hours a month I have a little reverse funnel sales program to pitch to you

They dont want survivors to sit in Q's for 30 minutes. It seems there comes a point where the MM system says......... F it! Good luck.

Killers said they would stop if Ruin got nerfed and gen speed wasn’t addressed... the devs and survivor only players called their bluff, except it wasn’t a bluff...

Remember when they strictly said you weren't going to be facing ranks higher than you?

    lol

That range of 6 ranks either way lasted about a week

smurfing is 1 thing, but rank reset exist and you can tell its only up to 4 ranks, its 16 pips (16 single pips or 8 2x pips) but here comes spicy part, when youre soloQing in yellow ranks you might die on 1st hook, be facecamped and noone will ever try to help or your team will just die in 30 sec (because if you take what supposed to be yellow rank surv and killer, killer should be op for them)

and here is shocking fact for you not every good player has time to play over 16 games per month per role, for example i have friend that is pretty good looper (he know how to 5 gen loop bad killer) but since spirit came out he doesnt play that much, and he is hard stuck below rank 15 so you will tell him "just play more games"?

matchmaker being ass is another case, BTW shouldnt we get beta version of new matchmaker "batch matchmaker" ??

Your friend would be an exception, so you’re telling me my GF was so unlucky she faced 3 really good players who haven’t had time to rank up at all and all happened to play tonight and together?

And where are you getting 16 games, it’s 4-5 pips max. I go from rank 4 to rank 5 survivor and am back to red within an hour or two. You don’t go from 4 all the way to 8 for example.
