  • Also I play both sides 50/50 and I wanted to add I have had games as killer where everyone is downed or slugged within two minutes, but I don’t come here with that video claiming survivors have it hard

  • Once again, these games do happen but it’s RARELY!!! This would be like watching a soccer/football team score 15 goals and calling it a high scoring sport... ignoring the hundreds of games when they scored 0-2 points

Because if you just change it on April 1st everyone gets it immediately and no one falls for it.

Doing it a day early actually gets some people to fall for it.

    Would think this was obvious.....

By that logic the best time to do an April’s fool joke is around October 1st, half a year away from April 1st

"making him a very powerful killer in the right hands"

this is probably the most overused and abused argument in the entire forum. Because if you deliberately use the best doctor to make judgements over his strength, then you have to compare him to the strongest 4-man swf around, and I'll tell you that there's no game, ever.

doc is decent, period, nothing special nor awful. but it is pretty funny that devs deleted his passive madness increase, because it was annoying for baby survivors, just to give him the static blast, a stronger, and probably more annoying version.

If there goal was to make him “more fun,” to go against they failed. Once you factor in his addons he is strong/annoying against anyone but “real red ranks.”

Bad map design isn't an exploit unless players are actively glitching the game in some way.

This, it’s basically like camping/tunneling it isn’t “fun,” for the other wide buts it’s a fair strategy out in the game

  • Because most maps have one, give up the gen in/near that building it sucks but it’s the best solution

  • @VigilStrange said:

Those aren't your totems. I legit thought this was going to be a killer complaining about their hexed totems getting cleansed. You don't want to run extra perks or a map to find totems, then you just gotta use your eyes, and memorize locations. Other options for your healing issues is to use self care, bring a med kit, use bond to find your teammates and have them heal you, etc etc.

Just because you are running a certain perk, doesn't mean they have to give you totems to use the perk. They could be running it as well! Who gets to claim the ownership of the totem then? Maybe the person who found it first? Crazy...

Seriously, if you want guaranteed heals bring a medkit or worst case selfcare

  • I’m a solo survivor, and I’ve seen wayyyyyy too much NOED lately so I will cleanse every totem I see lit or not. If I’m in a chase or on my way to rescue someone and see a totem I’ll remember and be back soon.

It's useful at Loops but it often relies on the survivor making a mistake.

The fact it only works out small to some medium loops already makes it situational

Something I learnt from playing against high rank survivors as Pig and play against pink myself is that you have a little bit of time to force the pig to commit in one direction.

The mistake most survivors make is immediately running the opposite direction of her ambush so by the time she turns around you have no time to react.

Due to the fact that she has a slight ramp up speed you have time to wait and see which direction she's fully going to commit to before running.

As for hitting The Obsession if you're a pig me and you should know that trying to force out an ambush is never a smart idea. ( it's way Demi Logorgon's shred just does the job better. Shred is more meant for the offensive chases rather than mind game at loops)

Does this mean her ambush is bad no it's just it can be situational. If I have to rank it I would say it falls between the middle of good and situational.

Honestly all Crouch and ambush really need is just some quality of life tweaks and it's fine.

Grabbing from Crouch ( I can elaborate on this later)

Slightly increase the Crouch movement speed.

Reduce the charge time of the actual ambush

Taking away the stupid roar would be a great start! Then touch up a couple addons and Pig players would generally be happy I think.

Just farm this game then. Easy.

Lots of bps for you and survivors.

    Have fun.

This is how a lot of people did all the trapper rifts, play trapper and run up to someone nodding. Usually they get it and the farm begins, if not play for real and try to put them in unexpected places

Billy's getting his add-ons looked at soon, same as Leatherface since they basically have the same add-ons.

Legion is tricky, since his core design seems to be about spreading damage which has proven to be really difficult to balance. If they made him into a melee Deathslinger with his Vault ability kept, then maybe they'd be balancable and decent.

Myers is fine as he is. His add-ons either completely change the game or slightly boost his abilities and his overall power is largely dependent on the player and perk conbinations.

I can also name the add-ons that are fine in Pig with one hand. Combat Straps, Video Tape, John's Medical File, Tampered Timer and Gears (including both here, sonce they do the same thing). Amanda's Letter is only good in niche situations and require a small map, like The Game, the extra traps/boxes are just "meh" and any add-ons that add effects on the traps are just aweful. I don't think that adding Exhausted or Blindness has ever helped me win a game. Any add-on relating to skill-checks is also a massive detriment to the player, since competent survivors can hit a basic skil-check, with experienced and skilled players using these add-ons to speed up the progress of the box. Ruleset No. 2 is also severely overrated, as I only really see it forcing survivors onto generators, the EXACT OPPOSITE thing I want as Pig.

The extra boxes are probably her best addons, well those and combat straps.

In two weeks you've only been able to use it three times? Bullshit. I've been running Inner Strength since the day it came out and I'd say there's only been a handful of games I've managed to get no totems on and that's because the killer spawned right next to me and I had no time or something. Seems like you need to spend a little time in KYF and learn your totem spawn locations.

Yeah, the exaggeration seems strong in this one. I tend to cleanse one at the start near me and still find another before I’ve even used inner strength.

With how many games NOED pops, and how many totems I see on my way to the gate it’s not likely OP is the one person who keeps getting teammates cleansing totems

Her dash is not good. It is highly situational at best.

I see high ranking killers use it all the time, it can end loops quicker than the Normal loop/loop/pallet break. Just off the top of my head Tofu uses it well and the best Pig player on the planet Scorpionz (by mutilple opinions) uses it and values it.

can you give me any argument that it isn’t good besides “I said so.”

  • People feel the need to make another thread because the Devs never answer. It’s been months since they hatched this MMR skill ranking plan and no updates... if they popped into any thread or even made a sticky saying “the new MMR should be ready for the next PTB,” or “we’re having trouble with some calculations but we’re working on it,” that would help a lot.

If they bother you so much don’t read them?

  • Pig trap tunneling is just another form of camping, a slower version really.

Her dash is really good, practice with and it lets you mind game some loops. It also synergies with STBFL.

Her addons are terrible, but that’s really all they need to change IMO

I wonder sometimes if the survivor off the hook knows how much danger they are in and why they aren't doing something smarter then self caring. They go back up on the hook and quit or get a mori to the face for their questionable effort.

Right, survivors hop right back on the nearest gen injured because they think this weird code will keep them safe.

I won’t tunnel, but you have to do your part as survivor too. Get away from the hook and maybe heal up.

No, it isn't. When you consider how long chases take, multiple survivors on one or several gens at the same time, lack of slowdown perks - 80s is not reasonable, at all, especially at red ranks where I play. Only certain killers are viable, and if your survs are good, then not even viable killers win. Especially when over 80% of the maps in the game already favor survivors.

To be fair though over half of red rank survivors play like garbage, in a rank 1 survivor and my teammates spend sooo much time doing NOTHING... I know because I run bond or kindred every game

This said it best... Seriously, since December 2018 This game was literally dying due to a DC EPIDEMIC and I am not exaggerating that! The game was a [BAD WORD]ing joke wherein every player who wanted to DC for whatever petty reason, were allowed to do so without repercussions. If this were a battle royal, 1 v 1 Deathmatch, or Free for All Multiplayer game, then that kind of behavior could have been forgivable, but in a 4 v 1 Asymmetrical game? Wherein everyone relies on everyone else to participate in the game, "NO MATTER HOW GOOD OR BAD IT'S GOING FOR YOU/THEM" (I can't state this enough as it relies on the sense of good sportsmanship in general), In order to enjoy the experience? Then the DC'er is just flat a flat out prick!

It got so bad that in the summer of 2019 everyone just accepted that if they played survivor, and weren't in an SWF group, they would lose, and we started to lose MANY players because of it. Why? Easy: Anyone on their team could DC at any moment because they were a bunch of over-entitled, whiny brats! Killers were not exempt from this either, but being that Survivor players make up the majority of the game... It tended to happen amongst them more often.

    Here's a list of reasons these ass-hats were DC'ing:

    1. Don't like the Map
    2. Don't Like the killer
    3. Will lose my items
    4. Ruin was cleansed in 20 seconds/Survivors spawned on Ruin
    5. Got sighted first by the killer
    6. Downed by the killer first
    7. Couldn't down a survivor before the first gen popped
    8. Survivor team is SWF
    9. Team is all Solo players
    10. This build is ######### against this killer
    11. Missed the DS Skill-check
    12. First survivor chased is too good at juking
    13. I'm not gonna waste my time on an obviously lost/losing game (Stated by both killer and survivor in the first minute of the match if a survivor is hooked, or not hooked).
    14. Too OP (said by either side)
    15. I don't know how to counter this (Survivor against a killer they haven't encountered, Killer against survivors with builds they haven't encountered.)
    16. I got Hit!
    17. I couldn't hit them
    18. Someone used a Fog offering
    19. Killer/Survivor used a Secret offering
    20. (enter own petty reason here)

This era of the game made the "Dark Times" (wherein all survivors were superheroes with insane perks and items, and some killers were way overpowered) seem insignificant due to all of the terrible sportsmanship expressed by the bad apples of the community which infectiously spread so much that Taking advantage of it was a regular "thing" BECAUSE it went unpunished for so long, and was quintessentially the primary problem with the game for both veteran and new players alike. For (what should be) obvious reasons, this was horrible for the games overall health/future, and it is with great pride that I stand by the Dev's and their stance against it. It's at times like this I remember the golden rule someone posted regarding DC's:

7 - This is a 4v1 Lobby and Match style Multiplayer game. When you queue up to play a match you are committing to seeing it through so that everyone can enjoy the game, and everyone else who queued up is depending on your commitment to the match in order to experience said enjoyment. The acceptable reasons for Intentionally Disconnecting from a match are as follows:

    1. A Game breaking bug rendering you incapable of playing a normal match.
    2. A Player(s) taking the game hostage/hacking/exploiting bugs or game mechanics/bullying or griefing you. (Report these ones after leaving the match)
    3. Influences and situations outside of the game that make your disconnection unavoidable in order to deal with said circumstances.

Disconnecting from a match intentionally for any other reason is a practice in bad sportsmanship that Ruins the experience for all other players. Disconnecting over petty reasons doesn't do anything other than piss off everyone else, and makes you a worse player for it since you don't learn how to play any better by quitting. Too many DC's from too many players can also result in leaving the community as a whole with a sour experience, and could eventually kill the game we love. If you are frustrated with how a match is going; Take it in stride as a learning experience, see it through to the end, take a break, and decide if you want to queue up for another match. We all bought this game in order to play it with others despite how each match goes, and the majority of the fun this game offers is in the variation of each individual match.

    Don't be a petty DC'er.

I understand your frustration of not being allowed to DC on a whim during a Pandemic situation, but unless you are DC'ing for any of the aforementioned acceptable reasons... You're just a petty DC'er, Who are no different from those that contributed to the near death of this game since December 2018, and you wholeheartedly Deserve your temp ban! I'm actually shocked BHVR took an entire year to implement this DC ban system..."Disgusting" doesn't even begin to describe it.

    TL;DR

The DC Epidemic of 12/2018-12/2019 almost killed this game because players were DC'ing unpunished for any and every petty reason. The new DC penalty system is a freaking godsend, and it's a wonder why the devs didn't implement it sooner. OP is saying that taking away a players right to DC for any and every petty reason during a Pandemic situation is "disgusting"... I respectfully rebut this as just as "Disgusting" and doesn't even describe how bad the DC EPIDEMIC of 2018-2019 truly was While providing a firm statement to the contrary.

That list is so accurate it’s sad... I literally have been accused of tunneling and camping the last survivor alive???

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1176421#Comment_1176421

But why do you feel the need to do it anyway, when I haven't done anything to warrant it? I don't abuse BT, DS, Flashlights or anything like that, but somehow just because they can or because I play a basic Claudette or P3 Yui, I'm fair game.

bHVR have proven one thing before: They'll change something when one side is getting their way too much according to statistics. If survivors escape too easily more often, then bHVR will actually do something about it, but when killers are actively boosting the statistics with false data, by tunnelling, camping and using Mori's then nothing will be done. Same as the Pig buffs that a lot of people have asked for, but Almo has stated that according to the statistics, she's "in a good place".

Gen speed isn’t in a good place. Survivors don’t want to hold M1 longer, because it’s unfun... but they don’t like tunneling (a strong counter to gen speed) because it’s unfun...

FYI I don’t tunnel because I play both sides and I know how absolutely unfun it is as survivor, but until gen speed gets fixed I will not judge or bad mouth killers who feel the need to do it

That was actually a bit different now wasn't it Einstein? In this case the person ACTUALLY knew where the other person lived and ACTUALLY called in a 9-11 call and the SWAT showed up--known as Swatting--and someone actually died due to that. In this case the two situations are not the same at all....please do try to keep up. An unknown person, who has no idea where the other person lives makes a baseless threat which he has no ability to carry out. The police could-if they were complete morons--I suppose get a warrant, track down the IP address of the person who made the threat (I suppose on Xbox the gamer tag would be enough), then using this information find the person who made the threat and arrest them...no police force on earth is going to go through that trouble unless the threat was actually...all together now...credible and in this case it is 100% not.

I'm sure this guy WONT but someone could track you down. YOu're right though it's a brush off.

This is not funny, genrush, perk survivors so strong, killers are the attractive of this game not survivors....

Neither side should have this, it wouldn't be fun for four rank 20 survivors to go against a rank 1 Spirit with good perks and addons... new players from BOTH sides should have some protection from bullying

For me, and I think a lot of people, a crazy game where you go for a dumb/risky save and 2-4 people die instead of 1, it was still a much more enjoyable end to the match.

Leaving with people in the hook is never fun, interesting, or satisfying. It's just boring. It's the "smart" play... but it's only smart if you care way too much about 5K BP.

If the killer actually chased one guy, hooked him after 5 gens, and then facecamps him with NOED, that means you spent the whole game doing nothing but gens. And now, at the end, presented with an opportunity to actually play the video game and interact with the killer to get your teammate out... you just leave? "No thanks, I had too much excitement from those skill checks and that one time I heard the terror radius a little. Five thousand BP is much too valuable, think of all the thing I could buy with it."

I agree it's more fun, and I will often give myself up to save a teammate, especially if it's endgame and it's literally their first hook that is almost unfair to them. But against NOED it isn't fun or brave, it's just rewarding bad play and encouraging that player to keep using NOED.

  • @ggezbaby said:

any survivor who does this always cries camper... but it’s as easy as not being toxic and not going for the save immediately in the killer’s face. i think they have gotten too used to BT? which is why i play freddy lmao

but seriously survivors shouldn’t do this. the killer has no incentive to leave. no reason not to camp. you’re basically giving him the free kills.

Good point, I don't think BT is overpowered but it teaches bad habits. I don't use it, I just make smart saves. Now granted sometimes you have an endgame camper that BT is the only way to get around, but 99% of times I see it used by someone who follows the killer chasing their teammate and unhooks them immediately.

  • @Carlosylu said:

THE 3 OF THEM CAME FOR ME, 4K GAME, LMAO

I get camping, I'm ok with it, it's a valid strat, what I don't get is why people are so dumb (teammates)... NONE of the three guys had BT, what were they expecting?! LOL!

I run Kindred and people still come after me when I'm being camped :-(

  • @Peanits said:

If someone is hypothetically making a list of people who are opting into dying on the hook when NOED is active, sign me up. You can leave me, I understand. If you want to check the area next to the gate to see if NOED is there, that works too, but please don't throw yourself at the killer when they have NOED. It almost always backfires.

This is why I say NOED doesn't need a nerf, people just need to be smarter. If killers kept getting 1 kill from NOED they would either DEPIP so far that you never see them again, or realize it doesn't help and use something else. It would self-correct itself if we stopped thinking that EVERYONE has to escape.

This is the one time I will leave someone on hook. Usually I will at least look for the totem, but if I can't find it, I'm out the gate. Like you, I'll happily eat the hook and allow my team to escape, but you can't stop them from trying. It used to be that you did the 'raise your hands in the air' emote to signal you were being camped, move on. But now it seems to be used for "Come rescue me" instead so it all gets confusing. If you see me in game and im being camped with noed, do a quick totem search, then get the heck out if you can't find it.

What's so frustrating is I run Kindred basekit so they freaking know I am being camped and they still charge in... I guess they're being heroes but they're not even setting up for a trade 1-1 or using BT so we both die.

Been working on it for a while now right? Any ETA

It's up to you if you want to farm or not. I personally like some of those games to just shrug some negativity off. Most of the time people are happy with the points. Like 8/10 maybe.

Yup, I don’t like “farming,” because it takes forever and is boring. But if I steamroll a team and feel the ranking is messed up i may just chase them after 2-hooking everyone.

As survivor if my team and killer farm I just do gens and leave, sorry just doing a rotation of unhooks is boring. Or stunning killers at 10 pallets.

Its happened a few times. A survivor is getting chased while you are doing a gen (or casually hiding) and you notice them. Hoping they walk elsewhere you stay put, but there is the mistake I suppose. They end up passing by you and you become the new target of the killer. Some would say "That's good, taking away pressure from your teammate so they can heal" or "don't be afraid of getting hooked." When this happens I am usually caught off guard and lose the chase.

Any tips? Happen to anyone often?

first, it was probably intentional... lots of players will lead killers to teammates to save themselves.

I run spine chill and/or bond so I don’t get caught unaware in these situations often and if I do Sprint burst usually gets me to a good loop

Another NOED user, i see. How are you enjoying getting the only hook of the match after all the generator are done?

Quite an assumption, I’ve had games where I 4K everyone before the gens are even done and you know what their comment is “ah a NOED baby killer I see.” How does that make sense it never activated I literally beat you with 3 perks... but never let logic dictate your argument

First of all, doing gens is SO BORING, also gives most killers no time to do anything. I go for rescues, try to take the agro, do totems... so I'm productive, not as much as being gen rushing like the rest of the team, but at least don't hide in a corner. It's just a game anyway, if I die, who cares? if I live, who cares? I rather die and have fun than escape a 5 minutes match and waiting in queue for another 20 minutes.

    There are some exceptions:

-If the killer is HB or spirit (I'm not scared of nurses and I try to get chased by them)

    -If a person dies.

-If for some reason I know or suspect the killer has NOED, I try to pop the last gen when he's chasing someone injuried.

-If the match is boring and I just don't want to play anymore (like Doctor or Legion or Freddy)

Still rank 1... this game is SO easy for survivors.

Do you do that? do you stop doing gens if you feel like the killer is struggling to get hooks?

“Boring like Doctor and Freddy”.. lol

Im shocked you would call losing boring. I was just talking about how people like yourself really mean “They’re a hard killer to win against.” when they call a killer boring.

I thought that same thing, the killers he finds “boring,” all have some anti looping except Billy. Spirit, Freddy and Doctor all change that normal looping dynamic. My guess is you only don’t mind nurses because there are very few good Nurses left.
