I don't see much point in lying. Though I know someone who did lie about this and they said it was because they were using mics in their swf game. There might be more reasons why people would do this but I personally wouldn't.
A few may to feel better, but again I say a lot of killers use SWF as an excuse they lost and I say that because I used to do it myself. Then playing survivor I started to realize some situations happen so often that good or even decent players know how to handle them together.
OP hasn’t said what made him so sure the first game. I can organize a late game save with total strangers, really the only thing that takes coordination is organized head on

I recently played a group of players and thought... this is far too well organised so asked them afterwards whether they were in an SWF using communications. They responded no and they were solo.
You can imagine my surprises a couple of matches later at seeing them again in a lobby, what were the odds!
Why do survivors lie about being in an SWF?
What made you think the first game they were too organized, care to share a couple examples?

That's not really possible. It's a nebulous number since it depends heavily on your region, rank, and time of day. It also depends on how many people are in a game vs. in queue at any given moment.
Why not just put Notifications in end game summary of who was SWF?
-

Well, there's also a chance you might not want to play with them yourself. I don't mind 2 man SWF, but I've played with so many 3 man's that went terribly. Often times one might be a streamer, who wants to show off, to their or your detriment. Sometimes they'll be overly altruistic, or prioritize their friends -- say you're about to go into second hook, their friend was just hooked, but instead of saving you who is closer, they go for the buddy. Over all, it can be very unfun for a solo survivor. Then again, sometimes it could make the game exceptionally easy. That just hasn't been my experience. Still, some people don't like it too easy.
It's anyone's guess unless they wanted to tell you the truth, and you'd never know if it was truth anywaysssssss.
This, watch Usyllis play and despite being really good at looping sometimes when he’s doing SWF with someone he throws the game meming around.
@Peanits said:
That doesn't necessarily mean that they're in a group. I'll sometimes get the same teammates back to back for a few games.
this too, I don’t even play that much and I recognize some names over and over because there are probably fewer red ranks when I play early morning.

If there are 4 survivors left at the three gen they still have the advantage, 1 survivor aggros chase with the killer the other three pile on a generator. As long as tge person being chased lasts more than 35 secs the gens done.
If the killer doesnt go for that then you all split up on different gens and work all 3 at the same time. He cant be in 3 places at once and will eventually have to commit to a chase.
Ive had survivors do what youre sugfesting, they always die eventually as I will start adjusting my patrol to include further parts of the map if its obvious they just arent going to do gens.
yeah 4 survivor should still be able to chip away at gens. That being said I don’t think they HAVE to try, and I don’t think the killer HAS to leave the area.
Personally I would give in pretty quick because I don’t wanna play an hour long game. Just the other day we got three gemmed against Doctor with overcharge/unnerving after a couple minutes I just stayed on a gen til he got me hopefully I bought that other 3 some time.

Why do killers insisted survivors are SWF? I ask because as a survivor I literally ALWAYS play solo. But killers constantly end with “gg have to do SWF to win,” because there is coordination, honestly by the time you reach red ranks you should have a basic understanding of how to coordinate end game saves and form a body block train out the door.
I also play killer so I know it can be frustrating but don’t blame every loss on SWF.

Staying within a close range of a hook while there is no considerable threat of that hooked survivor being unhooked at this moment.
This does not apply if it's endgame.
Thats what You and I consider camping, meanwhile half the population thinks you must leave the hook immediately even if you see 2 saviors coming from each angle, despite seeing them you MUST leave or you are a camper

You are a reasonable person, i see that immediately, but in my opinion you are generalizing (yes, something like this happened to me too) about a (very) unlucky situation.
Then why are people allowed to generalize and say “don’t slug its boring?” Maybe the killer needs to do it?

How are the serves so bad for just you OP? Something doesn’t add up

Dear survivors, stop blaming NOED you are just bad!
There ya go, just do bones

@Jakojo said:
One of the strongest killers in the game. Good map pressure, perks synergize with his kit well, and he's smaller. I still think Nurse is stronger than Freddy, but Nurse requires a lot more practice while Freddy is pretty straightforward.
This is the issue I think people have with Freddy, anyone can pick him up and if you have decent skill and basic knowledge of DBD you get good results. Compare that to nurse who is stronger but requires a lot of practice and more skill to be good at.
-
@Orionbash said:
Freddy is crazy OP and in need of some serious nerfs. There has been no other killer in the history of DbD that can do as much as Freddy does. Trash killers shouldn't be rewarded by getting to play a killer they get a free 4k on just because he exists.
Nurse used to move regularly faster like the other killers AND be able to teleport, I would assume by ever in the history of the game you mean since you started a few months ago
-
@CLAUDETTEINABUSH said:
Heyo, I wanna hear your opinion about the nightmare. Imo, it's a successful rework, but it made him a bit too strong. Here's why:
The Freddy gameplay, on red ranks, it's the same for every Freddy: you find someone, use your snares to down them, you hook em, you see where a gen is worked on with bbq and u pop it, rinse and repeat. There is almost nobody using fake pallets, so we can have at least some change of pace, and don't even get me started with forever Freddy. People said it time and time again, Freddy is boring to go against. That's my whole opinion about this guy.
I don't play him, and I probably won't ever play him, so I can't judge from the fun to play perspective.
What is your opinion? Let me know down below.
He’s boring because he stops the norms anti looping system and he has slowdowns to counter speed which almost everyone agrees on.
yes, he’s strong and (forgive me) doesn’t require much skill to do pretty well with. But he’s basically a creation of the he inherent flaws in DBD if you ask me.

On PC, in Europe I get 1-2min queues in red/purple rank Survivor until about 10pm GMT, then it's realllllly slow until ~4AM GMT at which point then becomes fast again.
For Killer I get 5 minute queues until the evening at which point it becomes instant. I suppose more Survivors play at night time.
I’ve always assumed this is because more friends are able to get together at night and people enjoy SWF more than solo
-
@MrDardon said:

Queue times are bad because there isn’t enough killers, they ideally would need 80% survivors and 20% killers but the killer percentage is much lower than that

-
Solo blows because you have no idea wah at your teammates will do. Just lost to legion with half a gen to go, meanwhile Claudette self cared in the corner twice and let me get one hooked to camp hatch... I still out scores her even with her 7k for hatch

Probably because they're boosted by their SWF. Had a SWF last night where they were complete potato powered on their own, but as a SWF, it make it frustrating. And they were rank 2!
SWF on comms is a huge boost, anyone who claims otherwise is lying to themselves. There’s nothing wrong with doing it, it’s in the game after all, but at least admit it’s an advantage.
The other thing is one really really good looper can carry even a solo team if the killer doesn’t give up the chase quickly enough. Even the worst survivors can hold M1 for two minutes if not pressured.

I'm one that actually does get them a lot of the time. I lurk around rank 5 and get what tru3 calls the top .05 percent. All meta perks, 1500 hours minimum, optimal looping, optimal gens, etc. I think it's the region I play on. When I get survivors from Canada, usual win, when I get them from Chile, I lose.
To be fair 1500 isn’t “that much.” Also, people who think they get SWF death squads every game tend to be making excuses Without realizing there’s something wrong with their own play

That's right, I agree with the gen speed change. First, I play in red ranks and I have a regular team that I play with and though I would consider us upper tier, we are by no means at the top. We consistently do well but sometimes the killers and the RNG spirits just seem to be on our side and we go on a fire streak. When that happens games are generally shorter than average and less action packed. Because of that there is less opportunity for everyone to earn points and the matches seem very one sided. After today I feel like that was all mostly due to our ability to gen rush so quickly. Now its been tougher to pop one gen right from the start or even two or three before the first hook and it's made the game feel less breezy(being a survivor main). I'm sure over time facing some of the better players it could easily turn into a nightmare seeing as I get absolutely ransacked sometimes but I have a good feeling about this change. I'm on console so I didn't get to see this in the PTB. Does anyone else see the difference, specifically on console?
Players will adjust, split up to do gens which is the proper way anyways really, and games will be right back to normal

I've seen this in one of Usyllis' Videos, where he did it with a mate. When I saw it (like the one where he did the "Unhook Tech" that got fixed now), I was like: -.- now I will have to deal with this too......
I will just dodge the lobby if there's more than one FL or just use Franklin's or Lightborn then, or just search the area. Or I will ignore them, because these people tend to get cocky.
I thought the same, but the timing and coordination is a bit tough. I think 9/10 times the people trying this actually HURT the team, it’s like that moron who follows up chasing someone but had no real idea how to do a flashlight save or body block hooks.
Im not panicking about it yet, for now I’ll enjoy smacking the people who love to try copy their YouTube idols and fail miserably at it

What? Yes he can put 2 of your 6 portals down by the gates and just hold the power button until KI says the survivor is near the switch. Then you teleport to it
It completely locks down the gates especially in a 1v1
It has a cooldown, as soon as fob teleport to one they can start the other.

@brubli said:
how on earth can I counter this? I get that this is an extremely hard thing to land and you need to be very coordinated to pull it off. However taking reference from a game i just played on the suffocation pit two players with flashlights could get into lockers near each and by pulling one out the other has ample time to hop out and save. Sure i could leave them and go for the other two that i might find but then it still leaves two players to do gens. Sorry if this sounds like i am just rambling/ranting.
I wondered how long the copy cats would take, I would say just leave and go after the other two on gens. Most likely these two will follow you trying for plays anyways and not do gens

You could be right. It could backfire too. If enough survivors complain that lower rank killers are beating them due to a mori they could decide to give Mori's a nerf in some way which would in effect be a survivor buff.
By the way... I agree with you that matchmaking needs to be fixed. I think it is horribly broken. My only point is any strategy that attempts to artificially manipulate change runs the risk of having the opposite effect.
The data is already manipulated by both sides, or at least inaccurate. Survivors killing themself on first hook makes it so much harder for the rest usually resulting in 3-4 kills, likewise plenty of killers throw games or flat out AFK to depip.
I appreciate your input though, so thank you!
-
@WheresTheGate said:
I really don't care what you bring into each match, but here's a thought:
If you utilize a method that enables you as a rank 12 killer to get the best of red rank survivors you are sending the message that matchmaking isn't all that broken. After all if a level 12 killer can get the best of a team of red rank survivors on a consistent basis why do they need to fix matchmaking?
The stats don’t matter, anyone who believes they do isn’t paying attention. The only thing rush matters is the playerbase whining. If enough survivors start to fee they’re going to get mori every single game even against a lower killer things may change. If not at least I’ll have fun while this experiment lasts.

Again if I'm sitting on top of you having to wait 60 seconds on the off chance you actually have DS/Unbreakable combo you:
A: Are not escaping.
B: Are wasting time regardless of if you had or did not have those perks.
How am I not escaping, the moment I pop up from unbreakable sprint burst is activating. Unless you are midswing I'm getting away to at least start a chase. If I'm at a good loop or pallet I have a chance.

that’s not even the worst. I was playing in a SWF tonight and we got a rank 20 killer. I felt so bad for them after the game I went to message them but couldn’t because of their settings so ended up sending them a friend request just so I could apologise. They were playing as nurse which is hard enough but to get red ranks in your lobby when you’ve obviously only just started playing the game.
The bs matchmaking is a good way to make new players hate the game.
@[Deleted User] said:
As a red rank player on both sides, I'd much rather just wait in queue, ESPECIALLY on survivor. It's not fun at all to play with people who don't even have 1/5th of my hours played. Nothing wrong with being new, but I have no interest in being forced into a mentor role.
It definitely will end up turning off a lot of new players. I’m solo survivor but I’ve still had A LOT of games lately where the whole team was red and the killer was 15 or worse... ugh, I always tell them at the end sorry for matchmaking you did good for what you have. But does that help?
BHVR had said they open matchmaking because new players would rather play anyone then wait for a good matchup... are you sure?!? Maybe they would be okay agajnst 15s or even a couple 12s but anyone 10 and below is too far above them. And against red rank loopers forget it, I’ve seen killers go the whole game with no hooks, maybe 1-2 hits the entire game is that fun?

They talked about the “rainbow ranks” matchmaking in their latest livestream, and the examples people are posting aren’t an error or a bug, they’re a result of deliberate dev choices.
The reason for stuff like this is incomplete lobbies - they said that when someone quits a lobby for whatever reason, the acceptable range of ranks that are allowed to then join the lobby are massively increased in order to get the game going more quickly. So if you have a team of four red ranks put against a red rank killer, if that killer then leaves the lobby, the next killer thrown in could be red rank, or they could be purple, or green, or yellow. Or if a red rank survivor leaves a red rank lobby, they could be immediately replaced by a solo green rank.
If you want to hear it explained by Behaviour themselves, you can go to 01:04:00 in the latest livestream and that’s about when they start talking about matchmaking.
Thank you for the time stamp

That is kind off my point. Most teams are bad, in relation to the highest skilled killers.
And if you actually run into those seal teams swf, they will just have done the bones anyway.
But, for me, it is simply a crutch for people that are consistently losing.
No one is ever going say, "Wow, you hit me once all game. Great job using that Noed."
Just because most survivors are bad doesn’t mean I don’t want to prepare for the ones that efficiently crank out gens

I think DBD just has a certain ego attached to it. It's easier to get yourself lost in it because of how the game is like.
"I beat 4 other players! I'm obviously smarter than them!"
"We beat the overpowered killer! Go team!"
Obvious sarcasm of course.
Right, both sides are OP if you listen to the other.
Survivors say killers have crutch perks but of course none of their perks are crutches... and killers say the flip as well.
Every player had their own definition of OP or broken or crutch but of course it’s never a perk or item they themselves use lol
Except me, I use DS a lot and I’ll tell you I think it’s still busted AF

Correct, people are using NOED to CAPITALIZE on the fact that nobody does the bones. NOED would be far weaker if survivors actually did bones or at the very least made a mental note of where they were. I personally don't use NOED, so I am perfectly happy trying to get survivors to actually cleanse dull totems
I don’t even cleanse dull totems all the time, like you said I remember where they are. When the last gen pops I run past any that are close and see if they’ve been lit
-
@Clevite said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1234716#Comment_1234716
C'mon dude. A killer is not using No Ones Even Dead yet to teach survivors to do the bones.
The use it, praying that one totem is hidden so well it doesn't get cleansed and maybe they can get some kills at the end.
Like @GrannyonAcid mentioned, some of us come from a time where it was embarrassing to be a noed killer.
I'll take the lose and avoid using this perk myself.
Except it’s not that time anymore, the math is clearly in the favor of survivors. If they all split up and do gens most killers literally can’t move fast enough to down them all before the gates are open.
Now granted most teams are bad, they waste time stealthing or trying flashlight saves so against these teams noed isn’t needed. You really don’t even need 4 perks against these teams so why not bring a perk for when you do face a death squad

As long as they haven't reached the endgame, gotta say no on that one. Actually, gotta say no on NoeD indicating someone is inexperienced as a killer.
Unless of course, you're the type of person who doesn't blame themselves for losing and instead blames others.
You nailed it here, people on BOTH sides find everything excuse in the book why they lost and it’s never just “I got outplayed.”
That killer had NOED, or Iri hatchet, or forever freddy boring build, or insta saw billy, or played as Spirit she’s so OP it’s free 4k
Those survivors were obviously SWF, they had a toolbox, they all had DS, they body locked, and on and on.

Yeah, with a partner in game the killers focus is shifted on where the partner is. If it's just you on hook, they're 99% going to sit and wait for you to try and Kobe, hit you and watch you for 60 seconds, and re hook you.
Okay so I Kobe and they down me, count to 60.
If the door has been opened I have a shot to crawl there in a minute.
If I have sprint burst and unbreakable I have a chance to pop up and GO before the killer can react, then the chase is on.
Why are these options taken away from me just because I’m last?

True, you could carried to the open gate or the hatch by exhaustion perks and DS etc. Is this healthy for the game though? I'm not sure about that and a face camping killer really isn't going to stop any of that. All they're going to do is smack you back down on the ground and slug you in case you have DS making the game longer than it needs to be. Either way, you've got an other unhealthy mechanic in the game, leaving either side with frustration.
But if my standard build includes SB, deliverance, DS and unbreakable this takes away that chance.

@Shocktober said:
Nothing like not seeing or dumping on the killer for the entire game only to get 1 shot and die on your first hook. I still think it's the biggest crutch in the game.
I’ve had games as Wraith for example where I almost immediately find someone, surprise attack them, get them after one loop and already 2 gens pop. I don’t camp so off I go to find the next person and while I down them the first person is saved and another gen pops. This process repeats 2 more times so by the time all gens are done I have had 1 hook per survivor.
I have done nothing wrong, I have found survivors instantly each time and downed them almost instantly as well. I’m talking no one in this team has any sort of looping skill at all. But because of gen speed I’m looking at getting maybe 1 kill if none of them have DS/BT...
No thanks, I don’t think that team “stomped me,” so if they can do gens that quick that can take a second to find totems too.
