1) It's my body, why can't I do what I want to it?
2) Who else does it affect other than me? If they somehow stopped other people from learning I'd understand but they don't so what's the issue?

It will be available between the Nurse patch and the next chapter.

For licensed characters, it all depends. We would need permission from the owners of those characters to do so. This first Rift specifically is themed more around Claudette and the Trapper, but future Rifts may be different.
On god please make Nea's rift one of the first 3/4 I need to know more about her.
-
I personally think that styptic could have been changed to something a little bit better, maybe the same as syringe but over 16 seconds rather than 8. If the killer doesn't hit you in the 15 seconds that you have endurance then the add-on is just wasted.

@MysticAdvisor said:
Wait if insta heals need 6-8 seconds to give u1 health state if your downed by the killer can’t you just recover back into the injured state before your picked up?

huh... thats... someone needs to test and see if that works.
I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure your health state being changed at any point during the 8 seconds will negate the syringe's effect
-
I like a few of the survivors.
I like Nea and Jeff most for their edgy/punky sort of styles.
I like Claudette for her more modest and cutesy style.
I like Kate for her variety in styles.
I like Feng's for her tomboyish but still cutesy clothes.
Finally I like Nancy and Steve simply because I think 80s fashion was cool.
-
She can blink almost directly after fatigue, you only have to wait 3 seconds to blink twice. Also, the changes aren't live, if the devs see fit, they will buff her. Don't make it seem as though the Nurse won't be buffed when she probably will with the amount of repetitive backlash given from the community, ONE DAY after the PTB was released. Keep playing her and give your feedback after the PTB ends, not at the start.
-
I'm pretty sure he's getting new weapons as well. I believe there's a screwdriver, another kitchen knife, and a broken pipe.
-
I believe that's correct.

@Purgatorian said:
No, that can't be right. I watched a livestream earlier about the rift and there were no serums in there. You get the vials by doing the special gens or hanging on those hooks I'm sure.
The rift is going to be tied into the story or something like that.
BHVR themselves have confirmed that you can only gain the serum through the archives, the serum isn't in there yet because there's no reason for it to be. It will be added when the archives go live.

The king put up a YouTube video stating that it starts on the 10th and runs through the 1st. No starting it on the 22nd is not ample time to do the grind that is expected .
The King doesn't work for BHVR, just because he thinks that it would start on the 10th doesn't mean it will.

They might reduce the distance that Detective's Hunch can reveal items from. Other than that I don't know what they could do without making it useless.

Most rewards will be exclusively available via The Archives for a period of time and released into the Store at least 6 months after their Rift has ended. More information will be provided at a later date.
From https://deadbydaylight.com/en/news/welcome-to-the-archives
I saw that just a few minutes ago! I'm so happy that the devs decided not to make exclusives after all!
-
Is this about the new rift outfit? Because I actually like that one, I prefer it to the already existing variants.
-
I mean, survivors get their fair share of nerfs too. Nothing is intended to drive players away from the game, just to make things fair and fun to play as and against as both sides.
-
Don't worry, I'm pretty sure the devs said they were reverting hair changes. It was done in the last optimization update.

i've seen some cosmetics in the rift and they are extremely lackluster
I personally like the majority of them, currently I really want Nea's vest, Nea's blue side buzz, Meg's purple variant of the "Street Smart" collection, Jake's outfit, and almost all of the charms.

Then don't buy it and get the items in the battle pass when they come to the store. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I hope it does work like that, it would be cool of them if they chose to do this.
-
@Madjura said:
Ideally this wouldn't even be an issue if the devs hadn't opted to make it an awful timegated system and had instead made it so that you can buy/unlock the battlepass tracks at any time you want.
If you disagree with this, point out (a) reason(s) why a timegated system is superior over a non-timegated one from a consumer perspective.
I completely agree but it hasn't been confirmed whether or not the cosmetics within the rift will be unobtainable after the rift closes. They may be added to the in-game store seeing as buying them from there would be much more cost inefficient on our end, meaning the devs will get more money in the end.

I personally find that a little short but seeing as you don't have to grind for every single tier it might not be too difficult, unless you want all 1000 shards back of course.

Can someone post a link what this rifting is all about?
It was announced quite a while ago, it's an additional grind being added for lore and cosmetics

Every 3 months or so according to the roadmap.
But the thing is we don't know whether or not the first rift will close a significant amount of time before the second one is released.

Well neither are keys, toolboxes, instaheals and DS, but no one is batting an eye on those, naaaah man, if survivors find something unfun it's gone, if killers find it unfun who cares? After all we're just play-toys for survivors, am I right?
1) Does new Freddy just not exist in your world or something? They made the worst killer in game top tier with 1 test build only a matter of months ago. The devs have also confirmed reworks for many weak killers in the near future.
2) There's a medkit update coming in the PTB, if it's a nerf to instaheals then you're going to seem pretty inane aren't you?
-
Whoever gets to the hatch first gets the upper hand, it's fair.
-
It does that from time to time, if you're one pip away from ranking up, it'll show you as the next rank up on he tally screen for some reason.
-
Or, get this, the PTB will allow the devs to adjust this add-on so that situations like this don't happen.
:O
Imagine that, the PTB being used to test balance, what a crazy idea.

We don't know yet

I covered that with the "in a couple of months" part. But you are probably right, she is getting nerfed, and it will stay that way, no matter whether it's healthy for the game or not.
Despite what a lot of users on here may think, the devs do not favour one side over the other, just because survivors were OP in the past does not mean they are now, it also doesn't mean that certain killers didn't need their fair share of adjustments. The devs are trying something new out and a huge amount of users on here are acting as though the devs just punched them in the face.

You just went from "let's wait until we see it in-game" to how her unjustified nerfs will be adjusted in a couple of months. That was quick.
Did you just ignore the bit where I said "if they see fit"?
-
Fourth option) I'm going to wait to see gameplay before I make my final conclusion but at the minute she doesn't seem as bad as people are making her out to be.

Not only is Spirit one of the hardest characters to play but also incredibly rewarding.
As a partial Spirit main myself, she was the killer I found the easiest to get used to, all you need to be good with her is ears.

That's what people said about MoM: "Wait until you see it in-game." Sometimes you can tell just by reading the description of a game mechanic that something is not a good idea.
And what did the devs do? Nerf it. Although it was a very late nerf it was still done. As I said, if they see fit, the devs will buff the Nurse.

They just better not touch her base.
It's also what they said about new Freddy.

I’m not saying sounds overall are useless, but how does the addon do anything? Any half decent nurse can use normal sounds. My point is that she relies more on sight. This is yet another worthless addon in a game full of them. And btw I consistently 4 k with current nurse.
I mean if you think it's weak, that's your opinion and is therefore completely valid. But, what common add-ons aren't worthless? They all give minimal impact on gameplay but can help newer players or can just offer a helping hand if you don't have any other add-ons to run.
-
Can we at least test it before making any judgments? People said things like this about Freddy after the details of his rework were announced. Even if she is weak, that's what the PTB is for, it isn't like the devs are putting the new Nurse on live servers with no testing. If they see it fit, the devs will buff the Nurse accordingly.

Sounds aren’t that important with Nurse and often aren’t helpful because of the limited time you have to decide if you want to blink again. That add on does nothing.
Have you ever played Nurse? Sounds play a vital role in playing as her, if they didn't, the current LOS blockers in the game would destroy her, but they don't. That's because good Nurses will either:
Predict where the survivor is going
And/or
Use sounds to determine what they are doing, footsteps and grunts of pain give the Nurse enough info to safely determine where the survivor is going.
-
It should be one or the other imo, not both.
Either increase exhaustion on the perk as is (maybe not 16 full seconds seeing as the perk was really designed to help stealth killers land the first hit, maybe 8 or 9 at tier 3?) OR make it apply exhaustion with a basic attack. If this was how it worked it would make all exhaustion perks (apart from Adrenaline) practically useless seeing as a good killer will end a chase without allowing the survivor to stand still/walk for 16 seconds.

why would you want piercings
I like them? I think they look cool.

If there was an ultra rare survivor offering it should spawn another gen on the map. This would mean that the killer would have to patrol more gens and would reduce the chances of survivors 3 genning themselves.

I was so disgusted by this thread, i haven't played for a week and i still haven't played. To think that this is the kind of person on the other side i'm playing with, god help us all. Really, what is going to be next you'll want to talk about, if survivors brush their teeth, or if killers ... i don't even know what to write.
Okay Mr people aren't allowed to think about whether characters within a fictional universe would be in relationships with each other. You don't like it? Leave the thread, no reason to be rude towards other people just because you don't like something.
