you better not bring ruin in the future....or you still has to?

Detective's Hunch is insane in PTB.

i feel happy and unhappy in the same time.

i liked to use this perk before the PTB.

so i am happy they buff it as a survivor.

but as a killer i feel so despair.

after the buff ruin would not stay alive after one gen any more

But i really dont know how to delay the gen in the beginning if we dont bring ruin.

Corrupt Intervention?

LUL.

I think lot of player dont know why ruin is so important to the killer.

so i better told you first.

Because in the killer's perk.

ruin is the only perk which active from the beginning of the game.

yes

PGTW is amazing.

dying light would be useful after the rework.

but before you hook someone.

they are all useless.

early game is the key of the whole game.

how many gens been fixed before you hook someone decide you win or lose in the most of time.

Thanatophobia can still been use after the nerf.

the main reason is it only require you to hit not a hook.

so all i want to say is.

could anyone teach me how to delay the gen speed in the beginning of game without ruin?

Or i have no choice but keep to bring ruin even though i know it would be broke very soon.

  • I agree, they keep pushing totem cleansing without making totems feel and work better killer side. You can hide them well all day but when a perk reveals them anytime a gen goes off it's not going to stop them from cleansing it.

  • They might reduce the distance that Detective's Hunch can reveal items from. Other than that I don't know what they could do without making it useless.

Completely scrap the gen and totem system and implement something that takes thought, time, and strategy? and something more interesting then holding m1 to cleanse a power that wasn't used in the first minute.

better get to hooking then if youre worried about time

  • how fast you can do it?

give you 30sec to find a survivor and 30sec to down one and 10sec to hook.

    quick enough?

    there are already 70*3=210sec.

which mean 2 and 5/8 gens done.

you can't just do nothing but try to hook someone and still hope the gens not been fixed.

    it just dont work.

  • You can still get gen defender as you have less gens to patrol at the start with Corrupt Intervention.

If you get lucky you can get 2 hooks in those 2 minutes and pop the gens they were working on. Not guaranteed but better than Ruin being destroyed in the first minute.

yeah i try the Corrupt Intervention already.

it sometime work by let me find a surivior quicker.

but it only work in the small map.

and you need more gen delay with big map than small map which Corrupt Intervention cant do.

  • @bgbomb This is the nature of the game. Some maps favor survivors more. Every time you choose a load out your are gambling it will be useful.

so what i mean is Corrupt Intervention can't be a stable choice like ruin.

  • @bgbomb If Ruin is a "stable choice" you are facing potato survivors.

  • Use CI and either Whispers or Spies from the Shadows.

    when i say  "stable choice".

i dont mean a half game long totem.

i mean it can  "stable" delay the gens.

at least before the first hook.

    what is Cl?

and how Whispers or Spies from the Shadows can help me to delay the gen in the early game?

  • Alternatively pair Ruin with Haunted Grounds. The DH Survivors cleanse Haunted and you can get a quick down afterwards before they have time to also get Ruin.

You can also use Thrill of the Hunt.

Corrupt Intervention. And those tracking perks let you find the Survivors quickly thus allowing you to start a chase much sooner and thus get your first down sooner and as such your objective of stalling until first hook or 2 is achieved.

Speeding yourself up has the same effect as slowing Survivors down. Don't forget that.

yes but speed up have a limit.

    just like what i told

  • Corrupt Intervention is great for early game steamrolling and is active at the beginning of the match.

With Whispers or Spies you can cut the tracking time down to as low as 10 seconds. Chase times are mostly dependent on Killer and addons but can easily be achieved in 20-30 seconds with the top 7 Killers.

And then CI means that you buy some time so they don't get as much gen completion as they otherwise would.

In otherwords it ends up being more like 30*3=90 = 1 1/8 gens worth of progress but no gens actually popped.

Then you PGTW 1 of the gens to reset it and DL is procced too and there is a Survivor on the Hook which further slows things down.

It's kinda just meh by itself. However it synergieses really well with some Killers as well as early game tracking perks.

Clearly im doing something right if im stuck in red ranks for survivor and killer.

Psst i dont like being there.
