I had fun as Demo. The monstrous killers like Dredge and Demo are made for it.
-
If a killer is going for adept it is understandable. They could also be doing some other challenge made up by themselves.
I had a plague yesterday that refused to hook anyone, and bled almost everyone out. It took forever and did not earn her much blood points. The game gave me abandon option, but I stuck it out and escaped. Those unlikely escapes are rare but satisfying.
Who knows why people do the things they do? Who knows what darkness lies in the hearts of men?
-
If the gates are open, the killer should be able to abandon if they choose.
-
The one thing we have control of in this game is our gameplay loadout and actions during a match. The rest is random.
Getting upset all the time is bad for your health. Be good to yourself, and be easy on yourself. You will be fine.

Spectate like the rest of us. YouTube and Twitch

The game has made killer less stressful than it used to be. Old DS and DH were very frustrating. Before EGC, end games could take forever if you refused to quit. Hatch standoffs were dumb.
If you want to "win", then this game will devastate you. If you go into every match with an open mind and try to have fun no matter the outcome, the game can be enjoyable.
I have played 2700 hours and took many breaks from DBD. Somehow the game keeps going, so I am back again. I play 1 killer match and take a break win or lose. Stand up, drink water, use the john. It helps.
My hot take is EGC should be shorter, or the killer should have a way to end it after a door is open.
-
EGC is too long. Remove the delays that happen if someone is hooked. Make it actually exciting and down to the wire.
-
If you are not interested in paying attention the match, I would focus on perks that help you in chase. Play the killer you like the most.
-
Ruin had it's time in the sun buffing killers who would have 4k'd anyway. I saw it all the time used as "insurance" and it would make matches depressing. The time it extended the match if not cleansed was ridiculous. With the extra time a match, every killer seems godlike when all the pallets are gone. Glad Ruin is dead, and all hex perks are not worth it to me anyway. Plenty of annoying survivor perks were gutted too.

I've just been having some of the worst matches of my life recently. I chase Survivors but somehow I never catch up to them before they reach a really safe window or worse a pallet. I either have to spend 5 minutes trying to mind-game them and they predrop the pallet anyway, or just brute force it and accept I'm getting pallet stunned, and then on to the next incredibly loop. If I commit to a chase, odds are I get nothing from it and 3 gens pop before I even have a chance to hit them. If I leave, I just start another pointless chase with another Survivor in an incredibly safe position, so the one I was chasing can go and rush a different generator. My last couple of games I've just given up and stood in a corner because I was being looped forever and never catching up. I'd swear some of them must have been cheating but I have no way to tell. If this is what Survivors mean by 'applying pressure' as Killer, then I see why they want it so much, because it doesn't work.
At least BHVR isn't releasing a perk that allows Survivors to run even faster with no tradeoff, right? Right?
Time management is the most important skill. Break a few pallets and pressure other survivors until somebody make a mistake. "Micro fakes" can make the difference. For example you signal left but go right once they do not have line of sight. You have to conscious of your red light and hide it whenever you attempt this double back. Spread the love until you find the weak link. Use your power effectively. Do your best and remember losing is a mindgame since it has no consequences other than pride.
-
I miss the whole mini game of hooking each survivor at least once for BBQ stacks. Bloodpoints were a good motivator.
-
I may actually return to this game after this patch hits.
-
I wish the drones chased survivors around like guards but I am willing to try something different.
-
I like her walk but mostly will only see through her eyes.
-
if you swap Jolt with Agitation it will be easier to get to those hooks
-
Hopefully, this gives BVHR the data they need to balance the game around coordination now. It used to be "SWF was just a tiny portion of the game" excuse but now the kill rates will tell the tale soon enough.
-
Demo, Artist, Oni, and Twins usually skip unless I intend to play them for a while and would get them naturally.
Doc's, Wraith, Fred's, Mike's, Hag's, Huntresses, and Trapper dailys are so easy in comparison.
-
2 pallet breaks and I turn back to the gens. Eventually, dead zones will appear but it helps if you inflict blindness to counter windows of opportunity.
-
Use the brightest items you have to decorate your hooks. It makes finding them under the boil effect easier.
If it is important to you: iron grasp, agitation, starstruck, hubris, or madgrit. Pretty damn strong perk combo and will do damage regardless of boilover.

Yeah I know, this has been asked a hundred times. But I just want to know how much the community has changed since the last time I was active on dbd.
So anyways, what do I mean with licenses? Chapters, skins, standalone survivor/killer/map, ...
Here's my top 3:
- FNAF (ofcourse, what else)
- Junji Ito (Tomie as killer, or like a shape shifting killer that can be different monsters from the short-stories would be pretty cool)
- Child's Play (I'd rather have Friday the 13th actually, but I'm pretty sure he'll come into the game sooner or later)
- 4th illegal one: the Overlook hotel from the Shining (just imagine they did that)
Aliens, Terminator, The Thing
-
If there are one or two gens left I might start being more ruthless than normal. Doing it right from the start guarantees fewer blood points.
-
It just means you put blood points in that character and you should not care what others may think of your performance during a match. DBD is random and circumstances are different every match. It does not matter and only has power over you if you let it. Play who you want and have fun while this game is still a thing.
-
This idea would have been more useful before the status icons. Most killer games feel like you are playing against a SWF now so it is less important.
-
Let it go and just play the game normally.
-
In the killer role, you have to take insults like that in stride as you are a faceless enemy except for the character you play. Some survivors are really into role play and act like whatever killer you are playing really did just try and kill them.
I smile and move on to the next match. It is the killer's burden. Post-game chat was a terrible decision anyway.
-
Killer has always been easier for the ones willing to bring the strongest perks. I remember the stomping killers did with the various versions of Ruin, and how it was used by players who were more than capable of killing everyone even without stacked slowdowns. Even the worst skilled killers will kill if given enough time. This is probably why 3 gen stacked slowdown is so popular and is being used by players who would do well without them. It is their "insurance" and it makes for long and soul-crushing games that are not reflections of skill.
I enjoy the shorter matches of high intensity.
-
Without incentives, players will go with their preferred role, which will lengthen queue times.
-
DBD has the least expensive DLC in the business.
-
I have played quite a bit of Knight and finished all his achievements. I have never used a guard to kick a gen, and I don't use gen-kicking builds for my knight. This change makes it worth doing it so I may start using the guards for this late game.
-
I rarely play Twins but I experienced bugs every time I made the mistake of trying to complete a daily. The only choice is to avoid playing them until it is fixed to save yourself the frustration. I agree the killer should be disabled to prevent others from dealing with it.
-
Try playing the game in different ways with different perks. I like to do Insidious scares by gens that are close to being completed. I go full skill check attack build or anti-heal. Anything but gens because I don't want matches to last forever. They can finish the gens or die but I am not interacting with gens. I only want to win chases and scare them.
Try to master all killers and take the game less seriously so you can have fun with it.
-
Dying means nothing in this game. Try to hang loose and take things in stride.
Random teams, perks, maps, choices. This is what makes DBD great.

I could never figure out her power. I'd follow scratch marks and unphase only to find out the survivor is way over there. Or I'd unphase hearing them grunt and bleeding and somehow they were actually 20 feet ahead of me.
I'm sure it's a ME problem but I could never figure it out
Run Strider and Predator and that should help you greatly.
-
I bought Fred at release. I have not used pallet Fred once. I keep telling myself "next match" but never try it
-
I get a kick out of the guards screaming and chasing survivors. I am enjoying him now that I understand how his power works.
-
I do not typically use gen slowdown perks and usually end games with 1 or 2 gens left if I do well. You must be willing to switch targets often to disrupt the gen completion flow. Also, survivors cannot help themselves and will return to a gen that is near completion. This spells their doom many times.
-
Nothing more pathetic that seeing knight go back and forth in front of a hook with a guard patrolling the same area.
-
I got his adept without paying attention to the guard types. I just used them often and it worked out. I also enjoy the guard's screams as they chase and when they get downs it is hilarious. He is different enough from the other killers and is strong. I do not regret putting in time to learn him.
-
From what I can tell interacting with pallets with his power leads to problems. I will stick to paths in open areas for now.

you shouldn't de-pip because you couldn't get the required heals or saves because you had 2 team mates dc on you or suicide on hook. There is no tension in being screwed over because you have babies on your team.
This is pure DBD. Random things happen based on the map, perks, add-ons, and choices everyone makes. Getting through that gauntlet is what makes it worth the effort and the reward.
-
A good tip is to stop using guards at hooks. They disappear when the survivor is unhooked. Use the guards in chase and to deny gens and totems.

ya im sure there is absolutely no power in the 1 million bp, it is all in our heads.
You are giving them power with your greed and lust
-
These days you cannot derank even if you de-pip, so it is much more forgiving. I think the threat of pip loss adds tension, which makes it interesting. I like having something on the line.
Pips only have power if you pay attention to them. I highly encourage you to forget they exist and never hover your pointer over your grade to see where you are. Just play and do your best without being hard on yourself.
-
If you keep playing it will eventually happen. Just do your best and try not to force it as that just makes it frustrating.
-
The game gives you choices. You can be a saint or a devil. I think it is a large experiment to study human behavior.
-
Yes, using knights to box survivors in on some tiles is very satisfying! RPD is hilarious sometimes with the small rooms leaving limited options.
-
Survivor. They get haste when interacting with knight banners. When the horn sounds they can do it. Otherwise, I assume you can do it with clown bottles, but I am not sure.
-
I don't mind the new dead hard as much because I get bp for the slap instead of swinging at the air.
-
Solo queue is pure DBD. The original concept. There can be difficult matches but magic can happen as well. Some of my most memorable matches were the result of 4 strangers banding together in the Solo queue.
-
DBD is an old game. Not many new people compared to the invested player base. The new prestige just makes them more obvious.
