The main thing with Third Seal is there's no time limit on the Blindness except for the Totem's destruction, where Fearmonger, Hysteria, etc wear off eventually
Certainly, you will get lucky in some matches and get tremendous value. No time limit is nice until you hear that totem explode. The other perks have conditions but they are unavoidable by the survivors.
-
I don't run Hex perks because I don't like having perks disabled, but Plaything provides unique value and is a good timewaster.
Blindness add-ons and perks such as Fearmonger and Hysteria are good alternatives that cannot be disabled.
-
I am glad that it will make things better for you. Once you practice enough come back and show them what you got on live! Humans are what make DBD unpredictable.
-
Just do your best and try to have fun. Do not sweat the pips they will come.
-
I wish I could turn off Oni screaming in the lobby.
-
DBD gameplay makes it hard to determine intent, so I would not assume that survivors are even thinking about whether you are a nice killer or not or noticing that you are not playing as ruthlessly as you could. More often they will assume you made some sort of mistake rather than you are a nice type of player.
I play "fair" because it makes me feel less dirty. I don't need survivors to validate it, although many sacrifice themselves to me like cultists in gratitude for my fair play.
-
I carried the last survivor past the hatch and walked to the basement hooks instead.
-
Got the hatch in my very first match. Lots of trappers putting traps under my feet and wraiths face camping me.

so in order to match pc 3rd party software i got to get a new display?)
I said it was an option. Console is a lower budget option and has many disadvantages. This is not DBD's fault.

There was a time when I was learning killer and I honestly did not know what happened once I started playing yellow rank survivors.
There seemed to be a huge gulf in what had worked before and then didn't, only later did I hear about SWFs and communications being used.
I understand BHVR like to hide information such as even player names now but for a player to be left confused how they could have lost so quickly would help people learn and improve when they play killer.
DBD is much more enjoyable when you go with the flow of the match and accept the outcome as long as you did your best.
-
Just move on to the next match to keep your sanity.
-
If you hate being 3 genned it is the right perk for you!

ive no idea why PC users are allowed to use such things as nvidia filters while console players can't even adjust gamma or brightness.
Even though you cannot use Nvidia filters you have the option of buying a monitor that includes built-in display adjustment options. Aorus has a good selection. They include remote controls for easy display mode changes.

I see the joy of setting and achieving a goal, but this one is not on my list. I rather have all killers at prestige 8, and all the survivors I play have all perks. I can then be strategic and apply the points to whoever needs items, add-ons, and offerings.
-
When I was new I played killer for months before trying survivor. I dabbled back and forth and then leaned into killer more a few years in. I then cycled back and leaned hard into survivor after the prestige patch. Now I just go where the blood points are.
-
I would not worry about if someone is subtle cheating as that falls under things you have no control over. Do your best and move on to the next match. This is best for your sanity.
-
I still have fun and kick ass with Michael.
-
If I am facing players that are making lots of bad choices I usually back off a bit so they can reset. More points all around.
If I am facing a seal team then I turn up the dial.
-
Pulling off a good mind game with him is fun and I enjoy his M1 attack. Especially with Unrelenting so I can spam it. Nightfall is very strong especially if survivors choose to heal and you catch them. I like Dredge and enjoy playing him even if I lose.
-
I bring perks to support the team and quickly save and heal my team when needed. It usually works out. If you prioritize keeping the team alive you improve your chances of "advancing"
-
Use Midwitch offering with fast teleport and extended killer instinct. Play to the perk's strengths and it will happen eventually.
-
BBQ. It would encourage moving away from hooks. Maybe.
-
In 6 years I encountered this maybe 5 times.
-
Close your eyes while healing someone and listen to the sex appeal. The thrust of the hook cannot be denied

not really MMR doesnt work u may be new to teh game and u will get paired with people with 5k hours in the game or play survivor escape a lot still will get a baby meg with 200hs consistently, MMR doesnt work. the game prioritize getting people fast not real skill at all.
With a game this old it is very hard to match newbies with other newbies every match. MMR ensures that once your score stabilizes you do not face uneven matches as often.
-
The bad old days of slaughtering newbies constantly are done. Just play the game normally and don't worry so much about "winning" every match and you can have your chill games.

Playing nice gives survivors a chance, if every killer were to play as mean as possible the kill rates would be close to 80-90%. So what does it mean to play mean? What does it mean to play nice?
Some examples of playing "nice" are:
- Letting people safely unhook and heal under hook.
- Hooking instead of pressuring multiple slugged survivors.
- Hooking the 3rd survivor in a 2v1 situation.
- Chasing the unhooker rather than the hooked person.
- Noticing someone is on death hook and choosing not to tunnel them.
- Choosing to use mostly aura perks versus regression perks.
On the flip side some "mean" examples are:
- Punish unhooks, getting as many free hits as possible.
- Chasing the person who just got unhooked if you didn't immediately down the unhooker.
- Hooking 1 of 2 downed survivors near the downed survivor, protecting both so neither can safely be saved.
- Slugging in a 2v1 situation.
- Choosing to go after the same survivor until they are quickly removed from the game.
- Stacking multiple regression perks giving you a large amount of extra time each game.
Basically if you want to win more easily do more of a "mean" play style. Even 4 man squads struggle to get escapes against killers who play as mean as possible. If you want more of a challenge or just want to have fun play more nice. People will respect you more for trying to play more fairly, but will understand when you play mean. At the end of the day it is a game, and you should be able to play however you want. I actually have a google sheets where I collect data from each game I play. So far if a killer chooses to play mean their kill rate goes from about a 60% to 80%.
Very good analysis.
-
Against good survivors or any survivors, I focus on actions that produce blood points and am less concerned about winning. I run on pure instinct and reset by patrolling gens. It is how I find peace in the role. Sometimes they get away and that is OK.

Okay 2 of these are easy to get if you want them.
- Huntress Long range. Bring Blood Warden and when they open the exit gates since survivors never end up leaving because they want you to watch them leave do super snipes. But don't go there to pick them up. They will pick each other up and you can repeat. Reason for Blood Warden is you get vision of them in the exit gates since you need to be hellas far away
- Nurse - show that you are friendly and hit a gen. Do three blinks and grab them off. Let them go and you can just play to try and kill the other three.
I may eventually try the huntress one but if I have to get friendly survivors in order to do the nurse or Michael achievements they are not worth it to me. I have 200 achievements and they were all hard earned in blood.
-
The 3 I will likely never attempt are Michael evil within, huntress long range hatchets, and nurse 3 blink grab

By that logic Dredge should be slower, but he has normal killer speed. There are other killers that teleport or have a dashing power that also have normal killer speed such as mr Whisker, Sadako, mr. Firefly, Demopuppy, etc.
Dredge teleport is limited by lockers just as Sadako teleport is limited by TV's, Demo teleport is limited by portals... there is a logic to it
-
If their power speeds them up either by teleporting, phasing, or throwing a basic attack across the map they have to be slower, or else they will kill everyone every match.

Kindred my friend, Kindred
Mindbreaker kills. So many never get saved because someone on a gen is not paying attention to the status icons.
-
There is a youtube video of me getting face camped by a Wraith in 2016. Wraith is still my least favorite killer to vs. I get surprised a lot :)
-
Do your best and earn as much bp as you can.
-
They tied an achievement to escaping RPD 20 times and since you have to open the gate achievement hunters will use the offering for years now...
-
In the game, you are already dead, and dying means nothing. Focus on earning blood points and being a hero. Even "losing" matches can be profitable. Experienced players can make mistakes and sometimes the killers make good decisions. It is not always about how "good" your team is. You can only control your own actions in the solo queue so just go with the flow of the match.
-
DBD is a mind game. Just go with the flow and stay calm to preserve your sanity.
-
This is not the way. Blood points are earned through risk and without risk, there is no appeal or pride in accomplishment.
-
Once you let go and stop caring about "winning" or "surviving" you can start having fun. Just focus on actions that produce blood points or some other goal you set for yourself like being a fast healer as a survivor or an anti-heal killer. "Losing" in DBD is a mind game. It does not matter.
-
Ripley and the Alien, Arnold and the Predator, Kurt Russel, and The Thing. All classic all fantastic
-
Leader and Corrupt Intervention
-
I mitigate this by immediately spending any points earned but I agree that automation should be an option.
-
As a new player in 2016, I picked Dwight blind without knowing anything about the game. It was a good choice.
-
It was easier for bad people to hurt others via end-game chat years ago. I still have PTSD from 2016/2017. Those were the last years when I tried to engage in the chat. The end-game chat was a mistake and should be ignored. While you can occasionally make friends after a perfect match together, it is usually best to just move on to the next match and use these forums or some other moderated venue to talk about DBD.
-
DBD is an old game. There are players who take extended breaks and come back, and situations where the only games available to you contain experienced players. It can only match you with people actually playing the game and most players are veterans at this point.
-
Logic does not play into it when someone wants you dead.
-
Is it fair? Is life fair? DBD reflects the horror of encountering something you have no hope to defeat. Both sides have games like this.
Open the gates and kill who you can so that you can start your next match. There is no win objective. DBD is best played for style points.
-
Weak is a strange way to describe an item that can save you from a hook state. Flashlights are still great against Hag, Wraith, Nemesis, and Artist. I have avoided practicing flashlight saves and have always prioritized medkits or toolboxes but maybe this is the time to start using my saved flashlight inventory. I have never done a blind the killer tome challenge but I will give it a try now.
-
I force myself with each new killer to only use their 3 perks until I get adept. If you just play normally it will happen eventually.
Twins were by far the hardest for me to get. I remember Plague being hard too but that was when she was first released which is also when the changes to killer adepts happened.
I get that it can be hard but I feel that is a badge of honor. If killer adepts were as easy as survivor adepts it would feel like a hollow victory.
