I am always a fan of its patrician visibility balancing.
This is why I run blindness addons haha
-
I have played Hag since the beginning and she is much improved from what she used to be. Her small size and terror radius lead to some surprises if you have the right perk build. Flashlights are her bane though.
I last used Mint Rag in 2017 and don't think I have ever faced one as a survivor. It is a touchy addon and teleporting to the wrong trap is common just like with Dredge and his lockers. Most Hags will be running range and setting speed add-ons.
-
If you find killer too easy there are ways of increasing the difficulty for yourself without demanding the entire game changes.
Run no gen or heal slowdown perks and it evens the field for survivors a bit.
Use less effective meme addons. Or no perks or addons. Whatever makes the game enjoyable for you.
-
I sometimes go into a frenzy of hook slapping. It is therapeutic to hear them scream.
I have not played a killer in weeks though. I want to face survivors who are used to the changes.
This is a youtube video of me getting face camped and hook slapped by a wraith in one of my very first games of DBD in 2016.
-
I play whoever I need to get an achievement for or need to unlock perks on.
Once that is done I play whoever I have a daily or tome challenge for.
Finally, I play Michael, Hag, Clown, and Pyramid Head when I have no other goals.

Gosh, sometimes it's not even a full heal that you have to do. It always depends on the situation (hook states, how many gens are done, perks in play), but you should at least assess the situation instead of just sitting on a gen.
I remember a game on dead dawg, a dwight refused to finish my heal. I was literally 95% finished healing, my medkit had ran out. I tbagged and gestured for him to come heal me and he didn't move a muscle, the gen was less than 50% done. After doing this for 10 seconds, I hopped on the gen and by that time the killer was starting to come our direction. Instead of attempting to heal me, he just ran away.
In end game chat he had the audacity to tell me go heal in the boon, which at the time the boon was next to main building and the killer was in chase next to main building. I was near shack and didn't want to run towards the killer since I was on death hook, so I ran to where I knew a teammate was working a gen. No awareness at all. That play potentially lost them the game because once I died, there was still a gen left to do.
Most games, I will do gens injured and when it's 1 gen left, getting the gen done is more important, but keeping teammates alive is as important as getting the objective done sometimes.
QOL change with survivor health bars visible at a distance by perk or for free would be interesting.
-
I prioritize speeding up healing others and myself using Botany and Leader.
It is in my best interest and makes me fantastic blood points as well.
-
I would suggest watching CoconutRTS on either Youtube or his Twitch stream. He leans fully into ranged killers and his Trickster is a sight to see.
-
6 year old game. It has many veterans. The game can only match you with who is playing regardless of their hours.
-
DBD has the most affordable DLC in the business. I buy them day 1.
-
If you ever get close to a human and human behavior
Be ready, be ready to get confused and me and my here after
There's definitely, definitely, definitely no logic to human behavior
But yet so, yet so irresistible and me and my fear can
And there is no map uncertain
They're terribly, terribly, terribly moody of human behavior
Then all of a sudden, turn happy and they and my here after
But oh, to get involved in the exchange of human emotions
Is ever so, ever so satisfying and they and my here on
And there is no map and chair too
Human behavior, human behavior
Human behavior, human behavior
And there is no map
And a compass wouldn't help at all
-
Keep in mind some players are doing achievements, daily, and tome challenges. This makes them act in strange ways.
-
Experience + perks + map and map version* + addons + items = Random and sometimes balanced but many times slaughter for both sides.

I thought that killer adepts were hard that I never even tried until grade reset this past month, and I got Adept Ghostface on my first try. I was still too scared to try again with another killer, but they're not so impossible.
I am not looking forward to Evil Incarnate. I'm hoping that they don't remove Michael's Mori addons when they remove the Mori offerings, but if they did, the silver lining would be that it might be reworked to actually be somewhat achievable.
I have been playing Michael since release and only have tried his Evil Incarnate a few times. Locker tech makes it nearly impossible unless the survivors are cooperating. For now, I am just collecting the required add-ons and one day will go on a 100-game attempt at it.
I will have the ability to stream again next month so maybe that can be the comeback show haha

They use to be just get a 4k using only that killers perks years ago (DC's also counted as kills)
Can't remember exactly when it changed sometime around or just after twins release I think (sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong)
Would be more fair to revert back to that considering survivors just have to survive not get 2 pips
Killer adepts became more challenging when Plague came out.
- As of Patch 2.6.0, the Adept Killer Achievements have become more difficult to obtain as the Emblem and Pip changes make it progressively more difficult to achieve a Merciless Victory the higher one is ranked.
-
If you equip those perks and just play the game it will happen naturally. When a new killer comes out I do not allow myself to use any other perks until the achievement is done.
Lower grade games are probably the best time to attempt them but it can happen in any match if the stars align.
Now that we have multiple perk load-outs you can just keep the adept perks ready to go when you feel up to it.
-
I like running no gen slowdown perks and focusing on either tracking perks, chase-focused, or anti-healing builds.
I never get used to the extra time gen slowdown perks give, so I am very efficient if I get into my groove.
-
2017 end-game chat was a bloodbath and a filter is needed.
-
I play Michael when I want to relax but in general, I play whoever I have a daily for.
-
I used to buy new games all the time before 2016. DBD saved me money by giving me thousands of hours of gameplay.
-
If I down the 3rd and I see the 4th I will go for it.
Otherwise, it is hook and book.
-
Use perks to target things that annoy you the most, including generator repair speed. Each choice is a gamble that may or may not be useful depending on what map you get, which killer, perks, and add-ons they use, and what perks and items your team brings.
This is what makes each match unique and why DBD is still being played.
-
As others have mentioned it will likely stay a Hex as it is one of Hag's perks. The effects can certainly be changed. It was a meta perk for a long time and I think this is just their way of encouraging you to try something else for now.
There are many alternatives that make generator repair take a very long time as is being demonstrated to me each match I load into.
-
I die quite a bit but usually make decent points and my grade keeps advancing.
-
Strangely I hate Wraith's power the most.
-
You can have Iron Will back but breathing sounds have to come back.
-
If the match is going bad fast I just try to save and heal as much as possible to max points. It is all about the points for me live or die.
If you care not for death then you just see it as a fast way to a fresh match. I don't pay attention to pips and life is fine.
The trick is I try to not take it personally and just do my best. If I get triggered I take a break. Stretch. Drink. Throw my cell phone away. Burn down my house and disappear under mysterious circumstances.
-
It is "experience sided" sprinkled with luck of the draw map, item, addon, and perk choices.

I'm not, far from it in fact. But the simple truth is, is that as killer you will never stand a chance against a well coordinated SWF. Any team that can communicate at all times with one another on what you as the killer are doing, will always result in some of the sweatiest matches that you can play. It doesn't help either when RNG map layouts can put LT walls right next to god pallets. It also doesn't help that as the killer, you'll be thrown into any match regardless whatever your rating may be, should survivors find themselves waiting for a long time.
At the end of the day, kills and escapes don't equate to skill, and so long as that's the determining factor with SBMM, then don't ever expect your matches to be fairly balanced.
I hear you. I really do. I have been in those trenches. 2 hook games. I still play them out.
Magic happens when you face the dragon. I can remember every down of a cocky runner when they least expected it.
I savor it and take my licks when I fail.

This game is just so broken right now, not as 2017-18 but still very survivor-sided. It's too hard for survivors to play against killers on low-MMR matches and absolutely disgusting, boring and ridiculously hard for killers to play against survivors on high-MMR matches and you know that. I bet, that survivor-mains are going to disagree with me and say "after 6.1.0 this game is killers-sided bluh-bluh-bluh" and I'm so done with survivors that just press LMB, E and Space keys are telling killer that he must apply more pressure, walk around the map like housemaid with his 4.4 or 4.6 speed, patrol generators, while survivors are getting hit, looping infinite loops, healing themself in just a few seconds with their botania knowledge and super-fast buffed medkits. Killers are making too much effort in this game, while survivors are doing nothing. I'm done with 4 solos that are running with Unbreakable, Sprint/Lithe/Balanced Landing, Prove Thyself and doing 3 gens in first minutes of the game. BHVR keeps nerfing Killer perks like Ruin, Thanatophobia and etc. The only perks that can prevent genrush, but keeping Prove Thyself, Overzealous, Resilience untouched. They are buffing anti-tunnel, so killers won't have a chance to get 1k or healing, so survivors can heal in a few second and came back to get hit by killer. Survivors have too much 2nd chance perks, genrushing perks and healing perks. BHVR are loving survivos, while killers are getting beaten to death. Even Totems, Survivors can destroy killer's hex once and forever, while killer can only extinguish survivor's boons, that they can bless again in 10 second (?). Why Killers have to be discriminated? Why BHVR keeps killing killers and pity little survivor mains? I'm literally spending so much time to master Blight, I put so much effort to get good at him, to be teabagged at gates with 3-4 hooks? I'm pretty good Blight, Tier S / Tier 1 killers in the game as nurse, but getting absolutely destroyed against solo players that are predropping every pallet on the map, running +W non-stop and doing literally nothing esle, but generators... BHVR, I pretty much know that you're gonna ignore me and put into black list, because you hate killer mains and killers itself. But can you PLEASE play your own game to understand what's happening on HIGH-MMRs?
I have so much things to complain about, but I'm so tired of this. Do whatever you want.
What you are describing has always been a part of DBD. It is either stomp or be stomped or some kind of long test of endurance when killers insist on 3 gen life and 30 min matches.
If you just play the game and do not pay attention to pips or your grade your mental state will be much better.

Besides me, is anyone not "high MMR" on this forum?
The obsession with a number that they cannot see is amazing to me
-
When I land a basic Dredge attack I stick my tongue out and hiss
-
That is what happens when you balance an asymmetrical game as if it is symmetrical. 99% of killers don't stand a chance against an overpowered SWF. Killers have nothing at all that helps them be stronger and to win. When perks deactivate for breathing, you know something is wrong.
Basically, Killer is fishing for a noob survivor that has never played survivor before to have a chance to win. It is honestly sad how easy survivor is now and it is worse that BHVR thought survivors need buffs. 90 sec gens against a mirad of weak gen regression perks is basically suicide for killers. There is no chance to win.
-
I main Dwight when I play survivor and on the killer side I play whoever has a daily or tome challenge, although I avoid playing nurse as much as possible. If I had to choose a favorite killer it would be Michael. He is silent but deadly.
-
Since I had all perks on all killers without prestige prior to the update my experience has been pretty good. I had the mini-game to get them all up one more level to P6, and each killer got a similar proportion of add-ons and offerings. Now I look at the blood web just as something to restock each killer. I suppose that changes as each DLC is released but the grind for that is massively reduced.
On the survivor side, I only had Dwight with all perks so he got to level 7 prestige. I am going to enjoy the mini-game of unlocking the perks on the rest of the survivor cast.
Red portrait and the race to 100 be damned. All about add-ons and offerings and perks for me.
The rest will happen naturally and I fully expect a new awesome game will come out before I am even near 100 on anyone.
-
I intend to play Dredge a lot once things settle down a bit. I enjoy the character design, the power, and the basic attack.
It might be my favorite killer and I play them all except Nurse.
-
Trickster and Ghostface could go away and I would not notice.
-
I wish people did not need to state that they are playing "high" or "higher" MMR. Nobody but cheaters knows what their MMR is.
It is just a matchmaking assistant. Stop obsessing about it and try to have fun. As I type this I realize it is futile so

im sorry but if you think i have 2 minutes to find a survivor among bushes and trees and corners with higher mmr then youre insane
I agree time is tight but there are tools. Lightweight is being used more so maybe just go full tracking with Predator and Bloodhound.
Animal style

nah waste money for bbq and darkness revealed and all that? sounds like my money would be better spent on other crap. id rather survivors loop me instead of hide
There is always the shrine to get the perks you want. Money is not an excuse for not being able to find survivors. Whispers is a free perk.
You do not get to tell other players how to play out the match. You play with the cards you are dealt and make the best of it.
-
There are plenty of perks that can reveal survivors to you during the match and help in your quest.
I would spend some time thinking about new builds and trying them out.
Stop camping and tunneling people for this reason. Survivors just want to survive. It is not a personal insult.

Yeah, this straight-up baffled me. I thought that was literally the point of the Pain Resonance nerf, that PR/DMS wouldn't work anymore. Why they thought it was a good idea to bring it back is beyond my feeble understanding.
They made its max effect lower than it used to be at tier 1
-
I only have 631 Nurse blink attacks. I also have like 231 puddings on her from getting all perks on her during the event.
I do not enjoy playing her but I might have to one day for that sweet bp.
I usually use the tricky website but I like the details dbd-stats has on survivor heals and escapes in the dying state. I only have 7 escapes crawling through the hatch and the first one was during my very first match of DBD haha
-
Taking breaks from the game is a good thing. I have taken 3 breaks over the years and it made it better when I came back.
-
Having a teammate with Leader is clutch in those situations.
Sometimes you just need to let people die and let the killer have his due.
-
Don't pay attention to that stuff.
Play and do your best.
-
If you are paying attention this combo should only work once per solo q player or once per SWF as survivors can just let go of the gen when someone gets picked up and resume on the gen after the hook.
-
I never favored Thana in all its forms. There are plenty of other perks in the sea.
-
I recently played a match without Kindred and was reminded how hard it is sometimes to make good decisions with little info on the rest of the team. You can never know why those survivors acted the way they did. I would say even with Kindred on I get ignored sometimes.
It is the roll of the dice of the solo queue.
I personally try to buy them as much time as possible as it benefits me with extra points and match time.
