I don't like first person Resident Evil. That's not Resident Evil to me. You've gotta have the changing camera angles or over-the-shoulder.
I completely agree, one of the scariest things about the earlier Resident Evil games was hearing enemies but not being able to see them.
-
I'd actually really like this, surprised they didn't do one for Lisa seeing as her "death" caused her face to start bleeding.

Suggest playing the resident evil 2+3 remakes and 7. They lean hard back into survival horror.
Sorry, I should have clarified that I also like the remakes that they've done so far. 7 isn't really to my taste though, the fact that it doesn't really have any links to ANY of the games before it kind of put me off. Again, it's a good game, it just doesn't feel like Resident Evil to me.
-
If every buff for one side came with a buff for the other side as well, this game would be unwinnable for killers, have you ever seen gameplay of the beta? I really don't want to come across as rude but your logic is seriously flawed.
Side note: The survivor meta is significantly smaller than the killer meta, unless the devs start looking into making stronger perks for survivors, killers will just be stuck playing against the same perks all game every game.

Check post higher. There is too much use stridor smart heads
Seeing as nerfing Iron Will would be nerfing Spirit's only form of counter (that already gets hard countered by Stridor), I think we should probably look into implementing some form of actual Spirit counterplay before we nerf what is probably the most unproblematic perk in the survivor meta (which is already small enough as it is).
-
Honestly I don't mind what it is as long as it's focused on the earlier games, anything past 4 is a no from me. They're good games don't get me wrong, it's just that they started to lose the actual Resident Evil sort of vibe that the earlier games had.

It looks incredibly stupid that the survivor is standing still yet not being damaged. There is no skill in pressing E while standing still next to a wall or pallet.
Dude, they're only buying themselves an extra second in chase, just hit them after they use DH, you're making a mountain out of a molehill.
-
It's hardly an issue though is it? The think that people don't like about DH is the fact that it gives survivors distance in chase. Using DH in place buys the survivor an extra 1 or 2 seconds in chase.

I hope that the future ones are better, the cosmetics in the current one aren't really to my taste
-
I did. I agree that it was underwhelming but I'm a perfect customer for BHVR, I hate missing out on things, I feel inclined to obtain anything and everything that a game offers.
-
This question is aimed at the people who say that Kindred basekit shouldn't show the killer's aura: You do realise SWF can just tell their teammates "the killer's camping" right? People want solo queue to have the info that SWF get for free, including the info of whether or not a killer is camping.

I think Biohazard is representative of what was a dying series, I can't think of any other RE game that isn't as representative as 7, particularly with what the series was becoming so in a way Re 7 saved the franchise from going down that path
I believe that games like 5 and 6 were the series beginning to die, but I feel as though the only thing that caused 7 to be so successful was the fact that it was from a big company, had a recognised title, and exploited the fact that VR was all the rage at its time of release. I think that the only thing that actually tied it in with the rest of the series was the fact that a virus created the enemies. Had it not been for these factors, it could have passed as a completely different title altogether.
-
While we're at it, could we give survivors more BP in general? An awful match as killer gives you about the same amount of bloodpoints as a brilliant match as survivor.
-
Tbh I agree, I really don't think that Biohazard was very representative of the series as a whole anyway, enemies like Mr X or Nemesis are much more iconic than Jack Baker.

harvester is the same. Killers are able to jump on a hay in live servers without swinging. It's just more obvious now. Thompson house got another window on first floor with breakable wall and survivors can just jump off the roof which is not possible in live
The harvester has been nerfed, survivors can no longer go directly left on the hay bail, they're forced to fall forwards before being able to turn. The first floor window on Thompson House is extremely unsafe when the breakable wall is gone. Being able to jump from the Thompson House second floor is a buff to both roles. Are we surprised that they added a breakable wall to Abattoir? They've done it to literally every other map so far, even the ones before the DS nerf.
The changes to Coldwind have nothing to do with survival rate, all of their map changes have been consistent with one another apart from maps with no main building.

65 for both I think

We don't need more female survivors. I hope it's Ethan, Chris or Leon.
The male and female split between survivors is actually pretty even at the minute, there are 12 male survivors and 13 female. The biggest gap in this split was there were once 3 more male survivors than female. It could very well be another female survivor for all we know.
-
I'm assuming that we'll have another Stranger Things type of chapter on our hands. Seeing as most of the biggest RE games featured 2 protagonists to play as, it would make sense that we get 2 survivors in the chapter.
-
If you lose as killer on Shelter Woods, I don't know what to tell you.
-
I'd have to say mine would probably be RE, whether the actual chapter lives up to my expectations is a different question. As good as RE7 was in its own right, I simply cannot bring myself to class it as a Resident Evil game, and if the chapter is heavily based on RE7, saying that I would be disappointed is a huge understatement.

That was the og Chris scream at the chapter teaser, so it's possible the survivor will be him.

If we don't get Chris and Jill I will be VERY disappointed
-
I've been seeing them a bit more recently, however if anything I think I'm seeing fewer keys as well. That's just my experience though, nothing to draw conclusions from.
-
I managed to get it today, definitely nowhere near as bad as it was before
-
This would just make it a bad perk again. What the devs should really do is drastically reduce how long it lasts (I would say 10/15/20 or 15/20/25 seconds), but have it reset every time you're healed.
-
This had better be a joke, I honestly have trouble telling on these forums sometimes.

" to gain the information that SWF get for free."
Yeah using external and unfair advantage. In a perfect world that shouldn't be possible.
Well we clearly aren't living in an ideal world then. Until we are however, this game will never be balanced until SWF and solos are on an equal playing field.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/241924/so-they-added-a-totem-counter
I get your point.. but why does it really have to be a totem counter in the first place? Why survivors have to get things for free when killers don't even have the hook counts like survivors do?
And i don't think giving solo players the power of a swf is a good idea at all. Facing SWF teams is horrible as a killer as it completely breaks the game balance.
So we buff killers to compensate? Is it really so difficult to follow my train of thought?

Why did they even nerf Lightborn to begin with? If perks like Franklins exist, why not anti flashlight perks? Only reason I can think is that survivors will throw the game by consistently trying to blind over and over again.
When was lightborn nerfed exactly? It provides total immunity to flashlights
-
He isn't getting nerfed?
-
Unfair when looking at it in a 1 v 1 scenario
Pretty much useless in a 1 v 4 scenario
-
That's not true, the devs want to stay away from killers who aren't humanoid in stature, how would a spider killer work when:
A) They wouldn't be able to see over certain loops
B) They would probably be too big to fit through certain gaps
-
Seeing as the devs have explicitly said that they won't be adding Jeepers Creepers due to specific allegations against his creator, I'm pretty sure it's safe to say that the devs want to steer clear of specific types of evil in this game.
-
I'm not a huge fan of RE7 so therefore I wouldn't be a fan of Jack Baker as the killer. Something I see a lot when people talk about the RE series is that although a lot of people recognise Chris and Jill as the best candidates for survivors (which I wholeheartedly agree with), they never talk about the enemies from the game that they first appeared in, IMO either the prototyrant developed by Wesker or Lisa Trevor would serve better as the killer in a Resident Evil chapter.
-
Both of these changes seem much better than the ones that will be on the PTB however I feel as though Iri Head should maybe decrease carried hatchets by 2, being able to carry 7 insta down hatchets would be crazy on Huntress players who know how to snipe.
-
Happened with his buff a while ago, along with Nurse's cosmetic update
-
Not really? It just makes it so it works against stealth killers. Don't want to deal with it? Go after the unhooker.

"I honestly wish that the devs would just stick to their word for once."
Going straight for BHVR's integrity is quite patently an attack against the character. If you want to highlight a broken promise (and this isn't even a broken promise, they said they'd give a totem counter and here it is, just in a very unsatisfactory way), then you attack the promise. Not the entity.
You do realise that BHVR have made seemingly empty promises before right? It's been over a year since they promised to incorporate LGBT representation into this game and guess what? Nothing has happened in that year.

Let's not be pedantic, it is clear she was attacking the repute and ethos of BHVR as the entity, not any fault of their actions or choices.
No I wasn't? I'm just disappointed that BHVR have yet again, failed to follow through with their promises. If I wanted to attack anyone I'd be insulting and name-calling specific members of BHVR, but I don't. I simply want to bring the fact that the devs have seemingly made an empty promise to people's attention.

I get your argument OP, but I still disagree. I don’t think the game/Devs need to spoon feed us every tiny little detail that is happening in game. I think part of the fun in using different builds is enhancing a particular skill in game and making our survivor unique to that scenario.
I also play Solo and I felt frustrated not knowing how many totems were left, so I used my perk (Detective Hunch) as part of my build and took it upon myself to do gens and clear totems.
My point is, I can be good at healing with heal perks, good at saving with certain perks, good at looping, or even good at hunting totems/chests...with certain perks. You can choose to be the best at something or dabble ina lil of everything but you cant be omnipotent and do everything.
Your big issue seems to be the difference in SWF and Solo experience. You want to bridge the gap. You think SoloQ deserve all the same information available to you that could be provided by 4 individuals playing together...
You get why that’s crazy right. You might as well highlight the Killer, at all times, highlight any and every totem a survivor ran by, highlight every unused pallet...
SWF are much too powerful and the only saving grace this game has is that most ppl play casually and they do not seriously try hard. If survivors felt like actually trying and using their cheats and dozen extra perks, just by opening their eyes and mouth, then every Killer game would be a bust. To suggest we bridge the gap is dumb to me.
Better off trying to separate SWF or adding restrictions to it, because buffing SoloQ to SWF levels of Over Powered BS isn’t going to keep the Killers around.
Is it really that hard to understand that when people ask for solos to be buffed to SWF level, they aren't saying that killers shouldn't be buffed to compensate?

The fak?
"We buffed a perk for everyone"
Survivors: "WHY IS IT NOT A SOLO QUEUE BUFF?!?!!"
Because it's a completely different ######### thing? I mean I didn't ask why say, the Demogorgon changes, or the new map were not solo queue buffs lol.
Because people have asked for a totem counter for ages? But instead they decide to tie it to a perk. This is a perfect example of where the devs had the opportunity to buff solo without buffing SWF, but they just decided not to take it.
SWF can ask their team how many totems have been cleansed, solo cannot. Adding a totem counter would have given this information to solo players without providing SWF any extra benefits.
Not only that but the change wasn't objectively a buff, they traded the ability to detect traps for the totem counter, which again, should have been made base kit anyway.

Maps. Detectives Hunch.
Both of those LITERALLY show you totem auras and allow you to see if there are any left.
This notion that "OMG I CAN'T COUNT TO 5 I DONT KNOW IF TOTEMS R EXIST ANYMORRREEEE" is just whiny survivor nonsense. There are MULTIPLE things in the game that facilitate doing bones. The two I mentioned tell you where they are exactly.
Every time I see you post on these forums, all you want to do is argue and insult people. Why? Even your argument here makes no sense, so I'll spell it out for you.
SWF can tell each other exactly how many totems they've done, without perks or items.
Therefore, SWF can tell each other how many totems are left in the match.
Solos, need to equip a perk or item in order to access this information, so they trade a whole perk slot or item slot in exchange for the information that SWF don't need to forfeit a perk or item slot for, therefore risking their total survivability.
You seem completely comfortable telling others to "deflate their head" but have you ever considered doing it yourself?
-

You act as if your average SWF is a sweat squad. This isn't the case. Hell, your average SWF doesn't even do bones. Just like solos.
True as that may be, when trying to prevent NOED from popping, SWF can simply ask their teammates "how many totems has everyone cleansed" and they'll be able to figure out how many totems are left, no perk needed. That isn't the case for solos, this change does nothing to bridge the gap between solo and SWF, something that the devs promised to do ages ago.

Why not add value to an underused perk? Small game has always been awesome.
Drop one of your second chances and equip it sometime.
Seeing as SWF get the totem counter for free, why should solo players have to sacrifice a whole perk slot for the information?
