  • We need less Wesker mains. Killswitch Wesker until his hitboxes are fixed.

  • You just need to unselect and reselect the challenge. I’m not saying it’s not broken but there is a work around.

  • Killers complain when survivors pre-drop, killers complain when survivors never drop. 😭

No but on a serious note, just find the survivor who sucks at looping and make them waste all the pallets. I used to dread playing customs with my friends because of that 1 guy who was incredible at looping. He'd waste time buzzing around me while I chased literally everyone else and by the time I went for him he had no pallets left.

At the end of the day you can't expect a skilled player to go easy on you just because you're struggling.

  • Hate to sound like a broken record after your previous post but you say this one guy kept going up there, why not just go for one of the other 3?

  • Last year I went against a killer who was toxic in endgame chat and went into my friend’s twitch chat to be racist to him when he noticed my friend was Asian. My friend and I both blocked him and tried to move on to the next game. Our next game was against the exact same killer who then went out of his way to make the game miserable for us.

I understand it would be abused but for dbd to have no useful block function is stupid and careless.

Had this the other day with a nemesis. One of my mates had an internet outage and DCd. The nemmy then decided to slug all 3 of us at 5 gens. Messaged him after asking why he didn't just stretch the game out a bit. Bit more BP all round. More pips for him.

All I got was salt and insults lol.

I had a similar game last week where an Oni slugged us all at 4 gens. With the bonus bp on survivor we all actually got more points than him. Seemed a bit pointless.

Meg, unhooking in the killers face. How stupid do you have to be to do that?

I get that well coordinated SWFs can sometimes win a game like this by stacking second chances, flashlights and hook sabo builds by tilting the killer. AKA a bully squad. But generally, it's a bad move to unhook right in front of the killer 2 seconds after the hook is made. You're supposed to avoid getting caught in the first place.

And I repeat, where in the scenario did the UNHOOKED survivors teabag in the killer's face? Because they were the ones who were punished, not Meg.

  • @Seraphor said:

A "Safe unhook" is a pretty well established idea at this point. Don't make mistakes and the killer can't use them against you. Survivors really be teabagging in the killers face then surprised pikachu when they get hit.

Killers don't actually have any rules to follow, you're supposed to not let them win, not expect them to forfeit out of sympathy.

Where in the above scenario were the unhooked survivors 'teabagging in the killers face'?

  • The usual excuse for tunnelling is 'the unhooker hid, I could only find the unhooked'. But Meg was right there each time and you still ignored her. I don't really know what you want us to say.

  • You've also got to remember that boil over removes hook auras within a certain radius, so that might be why all the hooks seem far away.

First, I love the addition of the poor thumbs up kitty. Second, its a try-hard killer player, they have the right to go as hard as they want, just as you do. It's not unique to Nurse, I've seen many killers do it. Third, if you're constantly facing sweaty try-hard Nurses, you're most likely in high MMR and I recommend you just die a lot so you can come down to my MMR where I hardly see a Nurse. Maybe 1 in 20 matches these days. I get a lot of Whiskers, tunneling Nemos, a rare Oni-chan here and there, Dredge is about one out of 4/5 matches and Plague is about one in six matches. Blight and twins are even more rare than Nurse. Sadako is a common killer I face as well.

But that also puts you with low mmr survivors? I understand that logic for killers because lowering their mmr only gives them lower opponents but for survivors it gives you lower teammates too.

This still could backfire. The person that goes for the unhook could think that the killer is camping and go back to the gen.

I know... hence the original post asking which the community thinks it means. I'm just explaining to you why someone might do A if 'everyone sees that you are hooked'.

  • @Tsulan said:

For me it has always been B. A survivor that wiggles even though i´m clearly on the way to unhook = killer is camping.

    A) simply makes no sense, as everyone sees that you are hooked. Why flap with the arms? We know you are hanging around.

Oh and while we´re at it. Please don´t attempt to unhook yourself if someone has almost reached you.

I explained why in the original post: 'for the teammates who thought someone else was going for the unhook'.

  • I genuinely wish you could opt out of one killer when it comes to matchmaking. My games are oversaturated by Wesker lately (literally had him 3 games in a row) and I'm tired of him.

  • In contrast, I had a game where I was running a similar build (smash hit + parental) to get a stun challenge done and the ghostface I was going against had spirit fury + enduring. He let me live and in endgame I said something 'mikaela trying to do stun challenge + ghostface trying to get sf/enduring value = profit'. It was incredibly wholesome. I'm sorry your ghostface was so miserable and judging by your teammates low points I'm going to guess he tried to make their game miserable too.

I'm there at the moment and play predominantly solo queue. I'd recommend the 2 gens, 2 unhooks, 2 chases (and a totem for good measure) rule of thumb for a guaranteed pip but obviously in solo queue matches don't always go the way you hope. Good luck and you've got this!

Don’t forget the 3 Quentin players out there suffering as the only survivor to have 0 cosmetics.

Then again, they ARE Quentin players, so I can only feel so bad.

At this point even if they did give Quentin a cosmetic, they'd just give Feng a cosplay version too. 😭

  • @sizzlingmario4 said:

I don't feel it as much because I am actually a Feng main. But it's frustrating to see the same characters constantly get cosmetics while other original characters hardly ever get anything at all. It's like "why give a cosmetic to this character who already has a ton of cosmetics and gets new ones all the time as opposed to spending that time making a new cosmetic for a character that actually needs it and hasn't had one in a while".

I feel bad for people who main survivors that don't get a lot of new stuff.

It's hard out here for an Elodie/Haddie main. My heart also goes out to all the Jeff and Adam mains barely scraping by.

  • It's kinda odd to me that what people deem 'abuse' is survivors dedicating a whole build to quick heals which in itself is an outlier, the same way dedicating a whole build to SO/hyperfocus/BNP/Prove/Toolbox/etc also isn't as common as people make it out to be. I bring a 2 heal medkit (usually yellow with an 8 charge) because I play solo the majority of the time and can't rely on teammates: that's one heal after my first hook and another after my second hook. Even with built to last, nobody has an infinite abusable medkit and self-heal speed on self-care is laughable.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Did it yesterday, after having it equipped for two days. If the event will be repeated next year or anything similar will be done, a challenge like this should not be the case.

There are so many restrictions, it is not even funny anymore. The Killer has to have energy. You have to be able to gain energy, so if you are already at 15 or you have already completed your 30 units for this match (which is a little bit over 1 Solo-Gen, which is 27), you wont gain anything. On top of that, you might get a Killer who is very unlikely to stun, e.g. you will be less likely to stun a Pyramid Head, Huntress or Deathslinger for example. Let alone Nurse.

So yeah, it took ages for me to collect those 6 Void Energy.

In the game where I finally (FINALLYYYY) got it I apologised to the killer for all the stuns in end game chat (I was so fed up at that point that I may have completely overdone it with 3 head on stuns and 1 ds stun) and bless his heart he was like ‘everyone is running head on, is there a challenge?’ Oh my sweet summer child you have no idea 😭

  • I hated this challenge with a passion. It took me 2 days to complete. You need to have space to take their void, they need to have the (undeposited) void available to take, you need to then deposit that void (so if you stun them mid-chase good luck depositing it before they down you and take it back). Running blast mine sucks because you fill up most of your void meter just trying to get it to proc. Pallet stuns often happen mid-chase so you lose them again when downed. In the end I had to force it with head on and DS which is a risk in itself because some killers take offence to head on.

Not sure then. I know it worked for me and my friend yesterday. I got it in a single game while it took him two. He got like 49k and it did show up for him he said.

Have you tried both sides to see if that maybe does something? I'm not really sure what else to suggest besides making a bug report.

Like I said, I got 50k+ and completed the challenge. My point is that usually even if you don't get the 50k required to complete the challenge you still get progress (e.g. getting 12,345 points will give you 12,345/50,000 in terms of progress) whereas for me it was staying at 0. After reselecting the challenge I got over 50k points so I don't know if it actually fixed the bug or not because there was no progress, it was just complete. Does that make sense?

  • @ohheyitsbobcat said:

Try restarting your system. I've seen a couple people mention that their progress on challenges froze and a reset fixed it.

I had the same problem yesterday and today so restarting the system didn't do anything. I deselected and reselected the challenge but the next game I got 50k+ and completed the challenge so I have no idea if that actually fixed it or not (initially I was getting 30k-40k points and it still show 0/50,000 on progress)

  • One of the most annoying things about solo queue is that one teammate who dcs making an already disadvantaged game with zero communication between teammates even harder. If anything, make the penalty higher. If you don't want to play then stop readying up in lobby and don't play.

  • I'm learning from this post that a lot of people here are the never hooked teammates lol

  • @HugTheHag said:

People also leave their items to say gg when they otherwise can't.

I play very chill and not particularly to win. I've had my fair share of teams that beat me hollow wait in the gate and give me their items before leaving as a soothing gesture like "we had fun, you did good/were fair".

The rarer the item, the stronger the sentiment :)

I love doing this when a killer gives up at the end or seems a little fed up. I want to give them my item out of respect for how hard they played. Feels like a teabag at the gate's much less evil twin sister.

  • @Lobos said:

Matchmaking can be very strange at times. I just dodge lobbies with teammates that are prestige 6 or lower to avoid bad games. Next lobby I get usually has higher prestiges or I just repeat the process until I find one that does.

Prestige levels don't always directly translate to skill and knowledge of game mechanics but from what I've seen in my games, it's a good enough indicator of a teammate's experience level before entering the actual trial.

Prestige means nothing in terms of matchmaking. It literally just means they put all their eggs in one basket and potentially have no life outside of dbd (I wish I understood the p100 brag).

  • For real! Nothing like taking 1 second to click a single challenge and then going back to lobby and taking 20 years to go through a bloodweb. Almost feels backwards (holding down the challenge was never an issue, I don't think a single person actually complained about it)

behind me on the far side left, in kinda of a dead zone

So it's literally just map RNG. Dead zones in one area, more pallets in another. Like others have mentioned, rinse through the ones in abundance early in the game and create more dead zones. But then again you don't need advice considered you 4k'd. You just want winning to be easier.

  • @AcelynnBen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3223730#Comment_3223730

omg....what kinda of word is stress to you exactly, i won yes, at one gen yes, WHILE MY HEART WAS ALMOST OUT OF MY CHEST

and i won because the game went for like 40 mins so most pallets were gone and i was pressuring the gens like hell, with thrilling and kicking

just because you win a game doesn't mean u get out happy, you either get out confused why that dwight dc at 5 gens, stressed to hell from all the bs that was thrown at you or get insulted 400 times because u did good

and i feel like u are defending SWF which in case if u are im just gonna ignore you, because if you tell me SWF is not broken, then i got nothing to say

If DBD affects you this much, maybe it's time to switch to a different game. I hear Stardew Valley is quite relaxing. The Sims can also be pretty stress-free most of the time. I like to switch to that when I want something a little less frustrating.

Those are Nightlight stats. I use that site too, although I hover between about 68-70% kill rate personally and hardly play survivor. 89% kill rate is impressive!

As far as the overall kill rate on that site is across all opposing killers, it’s 55%. That’s lower than the 61% actual overall average the devs report but keep in mind the Nightlight users are going to skew toward being above average since new players are unlikely to track stats on it so that’s a 55% kill rate against at least average to above average survivor players.

Neat! Thank you! What's your username on there? It says you can get a special badge for referring me

  • What site do you use for this? I’m kind of curious to see my own results

  • I know it's incredibly unlikely but a Robin skin for Nancy

Otz got most of those win streaks before MMR was a thing. His artist win streak had over half of it finished on a day where MMR was effectively turned off. He rushed it because he didn't want to do it "normally".

He is very strong with mechanics but he plays at odd hours and that gives him easier survivors and as a side benefit more NA viewers (and some of the EU audience).

Otz has 50 win streaks - cool. There are survivor mains who had 500 win streaks (with no keys or BNP) and got bored so they stopped counting.

That would be great if survivor win streaks meant 3-4 people survive every single game. Which they don't.

Survivor win streak = 1 person out of 4 survives

Killer win streak = at least 3 out of 4 people die

Let's not pretend they're by any means the same thing.

For most of this game's life cycle the game has been survivor sided at max skill level. Literally every content creator has been saying this for 6 years.

Survivor is the "weak" party when you are inefficient on gens and don't know how to loop properly. Maybe you're the one with a lack of skill. I bet you don't even have 3000 hours yet.

Otz's ability to do 50 win streaks on most killers says otherwise.

The fact that it is POSSIBLE to chase a survivor for 90 seconds and not down them is a failure of the game design.

People love to say "But Bloodlust," conveniently ignoring how easy it is to drop bloodlust. It legitimately is possible to run a killer around for 5 minutes without ever going down. I don't care what the skill levels are: no one survivor should be untouched by a killer for that long in a 1 v 4 game.

The core gameplay is borked, my dude. And quitting is the right move, because they just aren't interested in fixing it.

Some people are just bad at the game and it’s okay to say that.

Guess I should just pressure gens hard as Trapper on an extremely stacked Macmillan map with broken tiles in every corner of the map, I have 3.5k hours in this game, I think I would know when to drop chase.

    Okay, so why didn’t you?

  • @WeakestNurseMain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3205879#Comment_3205879

Step 1: Pop 3 gens before the killer can end their first chase

Step 2: Have 1-2 people doing gens in the background.

Step 3: Everyone else harasses the baby/m1 killer with body blocking, flashlights, and other tom foolery.

Step 1: do the objective uninterrupted

Step 2: continue to do the objective uninterrupted

Step 3: ??? Stop doing objective and interact with killer ???

I understand how step 3 at least can be frustrating but steps 1 and 2 are neither bullying or 'gen rushing' they're just doing their objective while you apparently chase someone for around 90 seconds. I'd really recommend dropping chase if someone is running you for that long.

  • My recommendation would be to set up a boon as soon as possible when you load up. Even if it gets snuffed quickly, it's not only beneficial because hey a boon but it also lets your team know early on that there's at least one person with a boon and so it would benefit everyone to leave at least one or two totems alone.

With totem challenges I'll admit I'm guilty of cleansing all the dulls to get the challenge over and done with asap (along with running overzealous and inner healing to milk those bad boys out of all their value) but if I see a boon at some point I'll prioritise leaving a couple for the team.

Edit: of course there'll still be people who don't care because that's the nature of solo queue and not everyone has basic common sense but it might help the issue a little if there're people like me out there who know when coh should take precedent but just need a lil nudge to know it's present on the team.

  • I actually think this is a good idea. Inner healing/strength is a free perk now and therefore one of the few perks new players will have unlocked. To us 1k+ hours players it may seem unnecessary but for them it might help them understand certain things better. It’s a harmless change and won’t become OP or anything at higher MMR.

  • Survivor: gets tunnelled and facecamped but runs the killer long enough for teammates to do gens and get out

    BHVR: skill issue

  • @the_honey_badger said:

So survivor's usually get 100% bp bonus as an incentive, killer can usually get 50% or 100%, how about this. What if after completing a game of survivor, that incentive goes to killer, then after a game of killer it goes back to survivor.

That way it encourages people to play both roles more and you could earn bp alot more quickly.

Incentive is for queue times, not for getting people to ‘play different roles’.

I'm not so sure we can continue to accuse them of "increasing the grind."

100 prestige levels for every survivor and killer.. you have to be joking.

In what universe are you being forced to prestige every killer and survivor to 100? P3 is fine. You can get away with P1 too. P6 if you want the cosmetics.

  • Reward, noun: a thing given in recognition of service, effort, or achievement.

Incentive, noun: a thing that motivates or encourages someone to do something.

Bonus BP % is the incentive. The total BP you make at the end is the reward. It’s not the same thing. Hope this clears things up for you.
