Yeah as others have said they’ll be usable next year! I completely forgot I still had them on my original survivors (Dwight through to David) because I started playing dbd during the lunar event last year and was levelling them all up, so it was nice having 10-20 envelopes on 7 or so survivors at my disposal without having to waste bps going through bloodwebs to get them.
-
My friend and I went up against a toxic spirit who bm’d the whole game and then went into my friend’s twitch stream to spout racist stuff. We both blocked the killer and readied up for a new game. Our next game was against the exact same killer who again went out of their way to make our game as miserable as possible.
I completely agree that the killer’s name should also be visible to survivors (much like in a custom) but also dbd really needs a better blocking system.

I matched with a ttv today (really sweet guy) who had 22 hours in the game. I have 1.6k. I thought maybe it’s just a new account with low hours but high mmr until I watched his pov on his vod. In contrast we were against a ghostface on lerys who definitely knew what he was doing and mindgamed incredibly well. Just bizarre matchmaking.

Today i died first hook because my whole team decided escaping as a snowman is worth more than rescuing a random who looped the killer for the whole game.
I'm fine. 👌😅
I had a game like that yesterday where I was injured and on death hook but I had bt. I wanted the yui to heal me so I could go save the guy on hook but for some reason her sitting inside the exit gate inside a snowman was way more important. Like I know it’s the event and you want your cosmetics but if you’re going to be useless to your team during egc at least just leave?
-
Had a similar experience to OP last night. I was wondering why my team were all going down at 5 gens. Eventually I grew bored of babysitting and killed myself on hook (I know, I’m ashamed of myself too).
I know rank means nothing but judging by the fact at least one of them was able to type in pre-game despite not being on Steam I’m assuming they’re people who just made accounts on Epic?
my matchmaking after this game was absolutely fine for the rest of the night so I have no idea what happened.

Insidious says otherwise
you literally watch the killer's aura stand still and disappear

I'm wondering why there are no survivor challenges like that.
Idk...something like "Escape the trial without touching a gen and totems for the first 3 minutes of the game".
Would be kinda funny. :D
Have you seen the ‘fully deplete 3 keys’ challenge in an earlier tome? Got tunnelled and bm’d 4 times before I gave up on it. Over a green key with bond add-ons.
-
i got lucky and my killer kept lagging and kinda went afk for like 30 seconds. (He dc’d like 5 minutes later and apologised for the lag bless him)

Just want to clear up a misconception here. Demo will still have bug/balance fixes as necessary, we will continue to support the characters in our game.
Thank you for clearing it up! <3

The first time it happened was a few weeks ago on Hawkins (I talked to the killer about it in end game chat and we laughed it off) but today I was up against a tunnelling demo with a mori so it just felt really frustrating.

anyone know if it starts as the game begins, like the model doesn't load in at all? Or does it disappear during the 'dig' animation?
I think it begins after he's immerged from one of the portals and then next time he uses another one it gets fixed.

Had a solo queue game today against pig where I was injured and dead on hook with an active trap during egc and the pig really really really wanted me. So hatch was literally my only option. Instead of leaving or at the very least taking hits/aggro, my team opened the exit gates and just lurked at the exits. I got downed on top of hatch and they finally decided to leave as the pig picked me up. She was nice enough to walk 2 feet and put me down so she could shut it in my face and gave me a cute hit on hook for good measure. :)
-
on the first day of the event I had literally nothing but camping, tunnelling and slugging killers and I soon realised playing with 1 friend just wasn’t going to cut it. The only way I was able to get any crowns was with a full swf. Rest assured, we still get camped/tunnelled/slugged but it gives at least one of us more of a fighting chance. I’ve managed to get 3 crowns whilst in a swf whilst my solo/duo crown catch remains at zero.
-
Had a similar experience a few months ago except I was one of the two survivors left to die. Stuck around to watch the two Claudettes locker hop for 10 minutes because I guess they realised we hadn’t done enough gens for hatch to even spawn. Eventually the ghostface found them and killed them and I was more than happy to congratulate him and apologise for him having so much of his time wasted.

Todays matches I've DC'd twice now all because of bad survivors they're either sitting on a gen that's not nearly done while 3 of us are hooked or they're just twatting about while I do everything when is the MMR coming because it wasn't this bad when they had it up and running at least you got competent players.
So if you're playing survivor how have or are your matches been?
you want to know something sad? I had this exact issue........... in a swf. 2 of us hooked in basement, 1 hooked outside, I keep repeatedly saying to her 'can you come get us, I'm about to die, I'm literally about to die' as I watch her aura walk (yes, walk) in the opposite direction to where we all are. Eventually I die and and the guy next to me in basement dies a second later and she say 'oh y'all were hooked?'
A similar story is me on the last gen, someone on hook and the 3rd person is..... you guessed it! in a locker. I keep asking them to go for the person on the hook and they do not move an inch from their safe red box. I pop the gen right in front of the killer's face and he chases me. I run for the person on the hook (as the 3rd person is still in a locker) and I can't make it in time and they die. The 3rd person now leaves the locker and opens the exit gate as I'm running the killer, the killer eventually downs me and hooks me and the 3rd person literally just opens the gate and leaves. I had to listen to this guy literally laughing as he left whilst the killer repeatedly hit me on hook.
I'm a little more selective about who I play with now
-
I was injured and had a completely healthy Nancy healing me. She messed up a skillcheck and hid in the corner of the map (I assume her spine chill flickered for half a second). I literally just stood there, still injured, staring at the pile of garbage she was hiding behind for a whole 15 seconds before she came back out and tried to finish the job.
I also had a Claudette who got downed a minute or 2 after she'd been unhooked and the killer just left her on the floor. Instead of recovering she crawled into the basement. My friend and I (injured, as per usual) both ran down there to get her only to find she hadn't recovered at all. Neither of us really wanted to be risking our lives for someone who intentionally crawled INTO the basement so we just left her. Eventually the killer hooked her and she killed herself on hook. She then had the guts to come into my friend's twitch chat and complain about getting tunnelled. You weren't tunnelled, you were slugged, if you'd recovered we could've had you up in half a second but instead you served yourself up like a free buffet in the best place for the killer.

If you're struggling with early game, I'd recommend perks such as ruin, corrupt intervention and thana. you want to slow down gens as much as possible so force the survivors into one area with corrupt and keep pressure on that area to let ruin do it's thing. i'd also recommend watching content creators like otz for tips.
-
No, it's just a strategy to try and gain another health state mid-chase. You're sacrificing distance to do it so if you pull it off that's actually quite cool imo.
-
The first thing that stood out to me was the fact they were all wearing the exact same cosmetics. That should've been the first red flag for you. Now that could literally just be 4 friends just memeing (as I've done with my friends many times, mostly just to see how the killer will react to us stood in a circle in killer shack) but it could also be a competent swf. Or something in between. Or 4 randoms who thought it'd be funny to match. Either way, I would've dodged just to be safe.

Yeah....... I strongly dislike this challenge. Even with BT you should not be unhooking survivors in the killer's terror radius unless there's no other choice (e.g. camping). And now that BT doesn't even require a terror radius it makes even less sense. So you either have to bring the killer back to the hook and unhook that way or unhook half a second after the killer hooked? Or I guess just pray for a farming killer. I just really wish they wouldn't create challenges like this that encourage farming. Especially since it's part of the rift grind so people are going to be throwing whole matches just to do it.
Update: completed it in a 4 man swf. Had to warn my friends in advance that I would be farming but would happily go down for them regardless of BT. Repeatedly said 'I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry' as I unhooked them literally 2 seconds after the killer had turned away. I got lucky because the killer ignored them and went for me but I know a lot of killers would happily continue to tunnel the unhooked. We all got out alive. :)

If you have them, bring perks like stake out, prove thyself, and spine chill, and a toolbox.
Stake out isn't super necessary but if you're like me and not very good at hitting great skill checks then that required killer TR might actually help you get the gen done a little faster. Prove thyself is good if you're pushing the gen with another teammate and will hopefully encourage them to commit if the killer is approaching. Spine chill will give you a speed boost if the killer is approaching. For the toolbox, try not to use it all up at the beginning of your first gen, save it for when you're getting close to finishing a gen and then use it to push it as the killer approaches.
Additionally, you might just get lucky and have a farming killer who babysits you as you do gens. Maybe even a lil piggy or ghosty crouches next to you and pretends to help out.

Not when it takes longer to do the “clean the weapon motion.” Guess what you would call it, then it takes to unhook the survivor
mad grit is the perk you're looking for

I had a game recently in a 3 person swf + a random Jake. It was too quiet and we all wondered if maybe if was a stealth killer and then we wondered if it was an afk killer. We had 2 gens left and Jake goes down in basement. My friends and I were confused but carried on and I waited with kindred to see what was up. Jake gets hooked, I see bubba's aura and then I watch as he stands still in front of the hook and that aura disappears. RIP Jake but we got those last 2 gens done and noped the heck outta there. Not throwing myself in front of insidious basement bubba, not today.
-
It's not fun or at all fair on the person on the hook but 'do gens and get out' is really the only counterplay to camping. It shouldn't be but unfortunately it is. Do gens and don't hand feed the killer the 4k. Facecampers rely on altruistic teams to get those 4ks.

It's so weird because I'm not that petty as survivor (I play both pretty equally) but I can be the most petty b**** on the planet as killer but those are stories for different days.
Now I have been sold out by teammates. Twice. The first incident was a Dwight. I don't remember the killer but I remember the Dwight very unfondly. Anywhere I kept going to repair a gen, he followed me and kept jumping in and out of the nearby locker, making himself scream and so when the killer came to investigate, Dwight took off and the killer got me, plucked me right off that gen (and this was Haddonfields map -_-) I'm the type of person that I don't fall for the same thing twice so when he tried it again, I casually crept away as he was looking like a fool and by the time the killer came back to investigate, he was hiding in another locker nearby and got caught immediately. I didn't save him that whole game (is this technically screwing over your teammates? I dunno). For a troll, he wasn't very bright.
The second time I got sold out generally did make me super tilted for like a hot second. It was the Midwich map, Wraith was the killer and I know for sure there was a David (he is relevant to this story) and I think a Meg but I don't remember the third but anyway. So the match starts off, I find a gen and work on it. Wraith shimmers by and it seemed like he was gonna be a friendly killer and I was like oh chill I'm gonna do these gens and maybe find some cool stuff in the chest to escape with. So there's like 2 gens left and I notice above me David gets downed and hooked and my first thought was he squandered the gift that is the friendly killer by BM'ing or something so I continue my gen, thinking our teammates would save him as I was pretty far away and the gen was almost done. They got him off the hook just before he reached struggle phase then he went down again and got hooked. I was coming to save him but he killed himself on hook. So there's one gen left at this point and I pop it finally. So as the fool I was, I was thinking this was a chill killer. I go to open the gates and he starts attacking me with my teammates not far behind him. Well I start running and as I'm turning around, I see Meg following me down the hall and pointing to wraith which direction I went. He got me. He hooked me. The other two teabagged and left. It was then my eyes were open and I understood what happened to David... May his soul rest in peace.
And I was a baby survivor both times. ;_;
That second story sounds like a literal horror movie oh my god

I had a game on prenn asylum with a friend of mine and a Jane and a David. The David was running no mither and somehow only managed to get downed once whilst the rest of us were getting pressured of gens by a very decent legion. My friend dies and whilst spectating tell me that the David (who is trying to get his adept) is crouching in a corner with a key refusing to do a gen, just waiting for us to do enough gens for the hatch to spawn or for us to just die. Jane and I are obviously struggling alone and she dies. So it's just me - on my death hook and injured - and the David. My friend tells me where he's crouching and I go find him and crouch next to him, hoping he'll at least heal me. My man shakes his head at me and crouches away.
So I do the one thing I can do in this situation - I fast vault the nearest window multiple times. David runs away and I keep following him, vaulting as I go. Eventually the cute bunny legion finds me pointing at where David is hiding, looks at me, looks at him, looks back at me, nods, and then downs David. After he'd hooked David I think he wanted to give me hatch but I just pointed at a hook because he deserved his 4k imo.
Adept David is hard, I feel the struggle, but that doesn't mean you can throw the whole game and hide in the corner with a key whilst your team gets slaughtered. The hatch didn't even spawn because we didn't get enough gens done. I hope that legion is having a nice day, wherever they are, and I hope the David learnt to actually participate and help his team and that it was one of those games in which he earnt his adept.

uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh that low wall mindgame worked.
he did in fact vault over the pallet right towards me and which would have resulted in his death
but because he had dead hard he got away. Which is a crutch meta perk by the way
Then his SWF friends body blocked preventing me from getting him
also the game is a survivor sided map with 20 god pallets
Idk if anyone has mentioned this yet but,
Ash didn't even have dead hard. He had lithe. So you're getting worked up over a perk he didn't even have equipped.
