I think that priorities have simply changed. Recently, there has really been a lot of spirit, and many do not like it, including me. It’s better not to postpone this for a long time. Although the changes are too small in my opinion.

Honestly, Spirit is fine, people just need to learn to counter her. People who say she's uncounterable are just unable or unwilling to accept their failures.
Yes, yes ... The same thing I heard from the players on the nurse with three blinks + add-ons for the range. A very interesting and true story, just learn to resist.
-
@Hag.is.Dtier said:
Spirit can still be gen rushed by these optimal SWF. Her map pressure is mediocre and she's bad at slugging/Snowballing due to her cool down and 110% movement speed. A Hillbilly who curves the chainsaw at loops, is probably better against SWF.
A moot point. And it's not only the killer’s strength against the whole team, but also what you can do yourself in chase of it, too much depends on luck and certain perks.

that would probably break matchmaking entirely also what if it's a 3 man swf?
May be. I just offered at least some solution.

The Nurse is still stronger than Spirit, and arguably Hag is stronger as well. Do you want to restrict them to SWF?
Why do I rarely see them, and the spirit is constantly in 1-2 games? They require a certain skill, so the player can make mistakes, and they also have an adequate counter-game in chase,without certain perks, it’s so annoying and not worth it at all. Another thing - the spirit, took good headphones, put the beads, flew to the sound and gave a hit and everything is fine, the game was a success.
-
@SilentSpectre said:
No. The last thing this game needs is more nerfs to killers. Spirit isn't even that oppressive, you just need to learn how to counter her/run her around for long enough. If anything, Nurse is still way better against SWF because her power lets her ignore comm callouts.
I have heard this many times. This is a chatter. In fact, everyone who says that kind of thing falls in less than 30 seconds against the spirit, if he does not take the iron will and so on. (I don’t want to take a set of perks for the sake of one killer)

Look, run Thrilling Tremors and Play with Your Food on Leatherface. The speed boost will help you shut down loops faster and keep the pressure one.
Additionally, doesn't Leatherface have Knockout, you know, the go-to perk for slugging? What's stopping you from actually using one of his perks and slugging survivors for 60 seconds after you down them from the hook rescue?
60 seconds is too much, for an effective game you need to immediately use Insidious at the nearest corner from the basement, otherwise it will take too much time and the survivors will simply run into the gate.
-
@Carlosylu said:
If every freaking Leatherface didn't camp nor tunneled then DS wouldn't work you know?
Are you serious? Of course Basement-Insidious Tactics involve camping and tunneling. And this was the only working and fun strategy when playing for this killer, now it's in the past, everything is ruined because of this perk.

After the nurse nerf, moris are the only thing left to deal with sweaty SWF groups.. so yeah.. they shouldn’t touch moris until they do something about SWFs.
I only play solo, but for some reason I constantly encounter mori, spirit and a nurse. Do you know how it usually ends?Why don’t you take all these things only to the SWF? The feeling that killers have only evil SWF in their heads. And solo players are just rubbish whose opinion is not worth considering.

Good job survivor mains you complained so much they’re getting rid of viable killers against rank 1 swf
If they were only in the first rank against swf, then this would not be a problem. But I, a solo survivor, constantly meet them at ranks 3-8 and am tired of it. A rare chance to escape, completely out of balance.

I understand everybody have thier own pov but these kind of killers are needed to have some chance against tryhard swfs
I am a solo player and I often come across a spirit in games. Why should I constantly endure a broken killer due to the fact that somewhere out there someone is playing SWF? Solo survivors is this second grade?
-
It is necessary to return the sound of the entrance to the phase, which used to be and worked in a radius of 8 meters. This will be fair to both sides. Mind games should be, but should work for everyone.
-
OP, don’t write something about the Spirit, immediately a crowd of players will attack who can’t do anything with killers in their crooked hands that have a normal counter-game and they will defend their imbalanced ######### so that they can do 4K at any time, even without any labor. Yes, yes, you will see phrases like “learn to play against” and “take iron will and urban evasion” (the killer must have a counter-game without perks, by the way, and yes there are a lot of killers in the game, but I have to take two perks from four for the sake of one garbage, pfff). And they will definitely write you some “working” strategy, but I assure you, in practice, they themselves fall from the experienced Spirit in 20-30 seconds or less.
-
The spirit is easy to learn, if you already know the basics of the game and have headphones, an easy victory without any labor. A small counter-game as a survivor, almost its absence without the necessary perks, which is why it is absolutely not interesting to play the role of a survivor against this killer.
-
Not surprising. The killer has a small counter-game, and that very small part depends on chance. And she does not even need to learn how to play, just buy headphones and know the basics of the game.
Of course, the survivors do not like it, the Spirit is like a nurse with three blinks and an addon at a range, you are invincible. Another mistake of game design in this game.
-
Honestly, this is one of the most annoying things in the game - to jerk off a keyboard space for a whole minute, it does not give me any sense of tension or anything else, it's just annoying. It would be much better to do 10 skill checks during this time, for example. Missing once - you're a corpse.

Spirit is female to begin with.
And she has a very simple counter. Just guess what she's gonna do and use the vaccum sound to guess if she's coming towards you. Spirit isn't OP , except when using Prayer Beads.
English is not my native language, maybe I missed something. It doesn’t matter, the main thing is that you understand me.
Your advice is good in THEORY. Thanks.
@nan1234 said:
I agree that spirit is very strong, but she has some counter play, like every other killer not named omega-blink nurse. one of them is scratch mark juke.
lets suppose that you and the spirit stand on the opposite sides of a pallet. You can’t tell if she’s phasing, but you can trick her if she’s actually phasing. Start by running away from the pallet, forcing her to phase if she wants to catch you, and after a few seconds mess with her. Run back the way you came, change direction and return, and walk in a different direction. It should make reading your steps harder for the spirit, but be careful: experienced spirits will try to “bump” into you in order to find you.
finally, learn the spirit you are playing against. Some spirits will phase immediately, some will wait for you to walk to near them and hit you, and some will wait for you to vault the pallet. Learning the player is a great way to counter them.
I tried something like that, but in practice it didn’t work out very well. But anyway, thanks for the advice.
I looked at the forum a bit, it seems that almost no one is complaining about this killer anymore, everyone is happy with everything, I'm just the one who is bad against her.
The topic is closed.
-
It is difficult to implement, too much work for them. + The solution in general and in details cannot be called ideal in order to start spending resources and forces on it. I don’t want to discuss this in more detail, so I just leave my short opinion.
-
Oh no, the developers bring a fair balance to the game, what a tragedy.
The survivors want at least some counter-game against some killers, what bastards!
Infinite second chances with the third Blink, like the infinite Dead Hard, bottles at a range, as so, because without them, the survivors can at least do something, how unfair it is!
Legion with all its abuses and without any counter-game, how could they do this to him! Oooooh, the author of the post, do not die, please, it's not all over, there is still a spirit, pick up the beads and go, the game is waiting!
-
+ addons for range should get a nerf. Too easy to get close to the survivor, leaving him no chance to somehow dodge.
But I would not remove them completely, only to reduce the effect. Or give a strong debuff on them.
-
@xDevious_Desire said:
They should nerf her add-ons so she’s only able to get 4 Blinks max. Remove the “add 2 additional Blinks” add-on. They should also make it so that if you do choose to run two add-ons that give 1 Blink each, it should decrease the range or increase the charge time or fatigue time or something like that. Punish people a little for using 4 Blinks, while 3 Blinks still isn’t punished as hard if you combo it with the right other add-on that does not give any Blinks, because imo Nurse kinda needs 3 Blinks sometimes. I usually always run 3-Blink Nurse, personally, because I feel more comfortable with one extra blink to be able to mind-game Killer who try to juke me a little better.
A nurse with two blinks is already the strongest killer in the game. Three blinks - a very easy game anyway. The third Blink can be left, but to make an addon ultra-rare and with a big debuff on it. The fourth and fifth blinks should not exist at all.
Leaving the third blink and the ability to also greatly increase the range in addons - absolutely nothing will change in the game.

Yes but people chose characters on looks alone right now so you do see more variety than your idea would create. You what little variety there is.
It also makes survivors much stronger one perk may not seem much but on top of the current meta which is used primarily to help prolong a chase they can now take a perk for faster healing or action speed making it even more unbalanced and creates a larger gap between new and old players.
More perks is just a bad idea as it makes balancing even harder as is making meta survivors.
I think my idea is bad and further discussion is pointless. Not because the idea itself is bad.
Before introducing such big changes, it is necessary to put in order the game that is now, and this is being done so far and is being done very slowly, it is still far from ideal and the concept of "balance." Therefore, this idea is simply impossible at the moment, an impossible amount of work for these developers, maybe "someday."
It was worth thinking about it before creating a discussion.
-
@twistedmonkey said:
This creates meta characters instead of just meta builds.
If you look at the current meta perks they would just chose one char with one and then be able to use 4 other perks with no downside.
It would create less diversity overall as some survivors have perks no one uses.
Now there are also characters that are taken most often, we do not lose anything.
So each character must have at least one really strong perk for players to use this, this is already a question for those who are engaged in balance in this game. A bit of work and the game will really become more diverse than it is now.

@TAG said:

I am aware of this. I just think the balance risks being thrown off (or thrown off more, depending on how you look at it) with such a change.
I already wrote about this in the last sentence of the post.
-
Exactly. Maybe that's why the game is worth diversifying the game and changing it.

I am still not a fan of giving the Survivor side an additional four perk slots while giving the Killer side only one.

Adrenaline can be taken by another character, and the fifth pitch is your unique one. + In the game, claudette and meg are already the most frequent characters to choose from, the problem is in the character model and the availability of their unique perks.

Showing everyone when the killer is occupied is just going to result in all gens being done in 2 chases 100% of the time.
Why wouldn't you bang out gens if you knew you were safe?
This now happens when playing against SWF groups. In your correct, that some, united in a group can do this, while others do not? Maybe we should try to slightly equalize the sides, test and then strengthen the killers, if necessary?
I do not suggest that the entire map be in auras by default. But a little information would not hurt.

You care so passionately about a topic that you made a thread to get their attention to it and ask why it hasn't been addressed but you aren't even willing to say WHY you think so?
Well I gave you a chance to get someone to join your cause and you declined so that's a downvote from me. I was genuinely willing to hear you out. Posting in "General Discussion" but not wanting to discuss anything is pretty pointless.
In my opinion, your question has been discussed many times before, since the release of the opportunity to play in the SWF and I really do not want to list all the reasons again, because someone alone does not understand and has not made conclusions for himself for a long time. The question I created in the discussion concerns the other and is only indirectly related to yours. If you want to discuss it, I advise you to create a separate discussion for this.

I have never ever said this before cause I like this game very much, but if they buff solo survivor to be on par with swf the game would almost be unplayable as killer. Unless you are playing killer just to be a body there while survivors get points. Keep buffing survivors so much and lobby time will be even worse than they are now cause it would be no benefit to playing killer. I have never been one for complaining, but I've noticed over the past few patches anything that negatively affects survivors has to be tentatively fixed with hotfix, anything that affects killers negatively. "Well we are looking into that" soon tm hahahaha. Legion and pig are still recovering from their gutting. Nurse base stun time is shorter than legion and she's stronger.
If there is no such huge abyss between survivors in solo and swf, then the balance will be easier to build and no one will suffer, no killers, no solo survivors. (SWF never suffered, obviously)

Its more than just making changes to help out Solo players.
They need to look at what they can change and add that will help solo survivors but not make SWFs stronger, defeating the point, and/or punishing Killers for it.
Your suggestions about the Nurse changes would help Solo Survivors but:
- It punishes the Nurse, the strongest Killer. If she is nerfed basically everyone will be running Billy in the top ranks instead of Billy and Nurse.
- Its a buff for Solo survivors AND SWF.
So why would they do it?
To do it like it is happening now with obsession - everyone sees that the killer is running after her, just let it be for everyone else. This will help solo players and will not reinforce SWF. At least it.
I do not offer the nurse nerf, but only her addons, which do not require some skill from the killer. If you want to fly through obstacles, then be kind to be able to play with two blinks and be able to do something with your own hands. Remember, a nurse with two blinks without addons is already the strongest killer in the game, and certainly not weaker than Billy with top addons.

Yes, there is still some things that we need to re-adjust or even change but I think we did a lot of great things too during those years.
Also we would love to have an answer to all of the questions that everyone is asking but sometimes we can't and not because we don't want to give you any information but just because we don't have enough details ourselves to share with the community or they are still discussing about it.
Thanks for the answer, I am sure that if you try yourself as a politician or lawyer in the future, then you will definitely succeed.

I don't think it's the fact that they 'don't care', but rather the fact that there's not a lot they can currently do towards it. You can't really make a perk or ability that could benefit off of solo Survivors, as it could encourage letting your teammates do all the hard work of having to do gens or chase the Killer all match, in some ways.
I guess the real question is...What would you want to see? The devs could probably use more feedback on what solos want, rather than just hear that they need changes. Suggestions and feedback are always a great way to reach out to developers and community managers such as @Peanits and @not_Queen ! :D
Many times there have been various proposals from the community about solo survivors and nurses addons, including from me. Nothing was done or simply ignored. Ok, if they can't do something with solo survivors, is it so difficult to remake several nurses addons? And yes, I asked the question, maybe do they consider these add-ons balanced? - ignored.
-
+1, this is exactly what the nerf requires in the first place. But for some reason, the developers instead deal with the nerf of everything else, but not what is really necessary.

I'm think about it, but her range addon has proportional drawback so you can't more easy to compensate for example, lost range(when using additional blinks). And don't forget about extra fatigue duration after 3 blink. Now with these changes good nurse's should think about when use third blink, because they're gonna be punish hard, if they miss.
Having a third blink is easy to hit the survivor, but at least there will be time to get as far as possible. As I wrote earlier, I would be glad of such changes, but I doubt that the developers will undertake anything in this direction.
