Slugging is boring? you have lot of things to do while slugged unlike when you are hooked/doing gens.
-
having 2 instakill hatchet could not be that bad tbh.
-
Cut LoS and just SHIFT+W as much as possible, then utilize crouch when you loop around palette.
Try not to vault windows/palette if possible, since he is best at hitting vaulting survivors.
-
Survivors are the real killers.

Hatch, especially in its most updated form is a killer sided mechanic.
And that's not an opinion, it's literally just numbers and basic math. RNG dictates that the hatch has just as much chance of spawning near the survivor as it does the killer so with those odds being equal, what does that leave? Speed. Guess who the faster player is in the game.... the killer. That on top of the fact that the killer can run through the map searching without a care while the survivor has to search AND worry about being spotted and killed. So mathematically, the killer almost always has a higher chance of finding hatch before the survivor unless they just get REALLY lucky.
Without hatch, you have 100% chance to kill last survivor no matter what.
"Hatch wars" itself is killer sided mechanics for sure, but if you think about hatch itself is nothing but a mercy for last survivor who lost, calling it as "killer sided mechanic" is strange.

Another one of these threads. the answer is no.
Remove SWF and you will lost the majority of your playerbase. This game is pretty much only enjoyable when i play with people I like and trust. Randos suck
Or actually get good.

or people can stop slugging for 4ks and just hook people and play the game out however it goes???
But why though, there is no reason to do so.
Hatch itself is badly designed aspect of the game, trying to opt out it is only logical tbh.
-
It's definitely not overtuned, having cooldown for something happens on a hook is not needed.
-
Hatch doesn't increase MMR simply because it's nothing but a pity escape for people who failed, bleeding out is more or less kill for people who succeed and does counts for MMR I think.
-
Oh and do note killers have basically NO WAY to counter any survivors addons beside perks and those powers, usually they can't do anything to your medkit or toolbox or whatever.

Sure you pick a surv, see the perk icon and you walk 10-15 secs before the drop
Depends on situation, it actually... does.

Says the guy with Ace in the Hole as his profile picture! 🤷🏼♂️
Items are very important to survivors. Hence toolboxes and keys getting nerfed hard, and the call for medkit nerfs as well. Survivors can base entire builds off their items, just to have to deal with crap like this or Plague (in the case of medkits). When do I start get to denying killers of their add-ons?
I mean don't make a build around an item if you don't want to get countered by anti-item abilities?
And you can counter any killer addons by just changing tactics, I think.
There is pretty much no uncounterable addons.

You've got to be kidding! How do you not have enough hooks. I've had people sabo a hook in front of me and been able to make it to the next hook.
cuz maeps lul
-
I mean could you try playing a killer for once if you really want to talk about balance?
It doesn't take any time thanks to excessive amount of survivors, you can do it within 10 seconds or so.
-
Or just make it so other survivors unable to pickup item of other survivors, forcing item drop is more or less ability and advantage of killers and should be kept.
-
I'd slug them anyway unless I'm on outside, good for survivors I guess.

I don’t know how many survivors there are or aren’t in the player pool, but considering you need 4 survivors per match to just one killer ideally you actually do want a lot of extra survivors in the mix.
In my region, killer que is always less than 10 seconds.
So, even if reducing survivors by 50% I'm not sure if that gonna be a problem.

@Tiller said:
Of course its worth it. You are trading your misery for 4 people having fun. Its net positive
Or you can sacrifice their misery to have fun, you have plenty of ways to let them suffer.

Look at these blight mains talking how balanced their killer is.
Let me point out few things.
-His best addons do not have downside.
-Hug tech is not an intended mechanic Mr. Blight mains.
-He is a no brain killer look at compound 21, alchemist ring, insta down, compound 33 and his speed addons that once again do not have any downside.
-The blight can hit survivor when they are not even on the screen(i can show you few clips)
-Also playing Blight is not that hard, just learn hug tech(exploit) and use compound 21.
So yes Blight is not balanced.
Add-ons are meant to be a buff item, Just like items for survivors which has no downside at all.
Hug tech is an intended mechanic now, BHVR said it.
He is a pretty much mindgame oriented killer, you just can't run like a braindead rat like you can do with other killers.
Any killers can hit survivor when they are not even on the screen.
Playing blight is certainly hard, because otherwise survivors should know at least some counters for him, so people like you won't happen to exist.

If you see flashlight clickers ignore em because they're wasting their own time. T-baggers in a loop are great since they also waste their own time. If they do it at the exit just chase them out.
Having "safe zone" for BMing is pretty bad for game tbh.

It's fine, I like grading more because I don't need to sweat to get bonus BP.

That is almost certainly incorrect. Why in this day and age would people play a game with their friend and not be talking to each other? It’s hard to imagine that virtually all swfs aren’t on comms.
That being said, it’s also worth noting that the devs have mentioned previously that half of all games have a swf of some type included. So if killers could “opt out” of playing against swfs they’d be cutting themselves off from a huge part of the playerbase.
I don't know if that gonna be a problem though, at least there is so much of survivors right now.

I get you. Though I think it's more of an issue of hook placement more than needing more.
I don't know, at least midwich seems to have pretty balanced hook placement, it's just that that map is practically a long corridor and distance between each hooks are hella long.

@dugman said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2786921#Comment_2786921
I agree it’s better for everyone not to waste time, speeding up the bleeding timer helps with that in a case like you described.
I mean it's fine to give killers some more BP if end result is same, isn't it?
either way it's healthier for sure, though...
-
Both side has some extremity and game is practically broken beside them.
Facecamp bubba can secure up to 3 kill no matter what, and then there is a killer like pig who can kill 4k max for just afking depends on luck, nurse and blight is certainly strong enough to actually deal with decent survs thanks to mobility.
Survivors in general is too strong too, gen is fast, walkspeed is fast enough to just shift+w most killers, there is no real counter for palettes as usual M1 killer, and they even have a voice comm which has a value of two digit amount of perks.
And then, non-good killers and "usual" survivors suffering all the time due to those.
Oh and distribution of killers/survivors are definitely a problem, usually survivors I play against is potato even though I'm killing them most of time, and then I get a SWF with sweaty loadout who even DCs and give teammate a hatch, I don't think SBMM is working at all thanks to lack of killers.

@dugman said:

Sure, it doesn’t take more than a minute to slug three or four slugged people though.
Also Deerstalker is your friend if you like to do that. I run it occasionally myself. 🙂
Eh, finding slugged survivors especially when they are spread out and after you chased someone is semi impossible as they can go whatever location and also doesn't give anything useful like scratch marks.
And the problem is the fact I'm patient enough to wait for them to bleeding out, I get little less BP but that's it.
I just think it's better for everyone to not waste time.
-
@Zolfo16 said:
Then let him go. He is the last, he is on the ground, it is clear you won.
If you do not have hooks and do not want to slug let him go.
Even though I find it boring I don't care slugging itself, bleeding out is more or less still a kill.
@[Deleted User] said:
More often than not it's not an issue for me. Be aware of your soundings. Just keep on their tail and herd them towards a hook before you go for the down.
Most of time it's not a problem, but what I usually do is slugging last two survivors to secure 4k, so they can try to go safe spot if they really want to.
Maps like RPD, game and midwich tend to have this problem for some reason.

@FFirebrandd said:
I feel like nobody else watched the same video as I did...
So... I see the killer down you, pick you up, spot a hook a smidge far away and start heading there.
There's a bunch of random machinery in that room so the killer has to do a little S curve.
At 0:45, it's pretty obvious that Boil Over was kicking him to the left pretty hard, he starts trying to correct it the same second that Boil Over switches direction... punting him in between the two sets of machinery. He tries to recover but it is far too late. He realizes it at ~0:50 and drops you when you're at 60% wiggle and he's inadvertently spent the last 5 seconds of his precious 15-16s of carry time going the wrong way because of your perk.
Now... what happens next? You crawl back to where he first tried to pick you up! He'd already tried and failed to hook you from that location... why would he bother picking you up again?
You may not have seen what you did as abusing Boil Over, but I can guarantee that the Blight did.
at least it looks like he almost won, I'm happy to see he won even with those unhealthy perks.

Well the game now does encourage you to bleed out survivors. I had a toxic ttv squad abusing nurse map yesterday with boil over flip flops and breakouts. Yeah i should have freaking afked the whole match but i tried..i really tried. Ended up bleeding them out but since they were a squad they actually got out. Imagine the EZ i got in the end game chat.
Sure hooking gives more bloodpoints but with these perks you are going to see a lot more slugging so get comfortable at the ground watch youtube enjoy the 4 minutes. Choice is up to the survivors. If you bring these perks into the game don't cry afterwards that you got bled out.
Oh god am I look like people who trying to defend boil over lmao.
What I'm saying is pretty much this, a perk shouldn't force you to utilize bleeding out because it's not something you should be forced to rely on.
Hooking is main objective of the game just like generators for survivors, even though you can choose to use whatever thing you have, hooking should always be an option because everything is made around it.

If we’re thinking about game health, I’m sure this game would die without swf existing, or simply go back to what it used to be. Lobby dodging till people got with their friends.
Do ban just like it does with disconnect, problem solved.
Do note 50% or so of players aren't SWF still, I don't see this game gonna "die" because SWF left.

What auras are you talking about? Survivors can already see the auras of downed survivors unless they’re Blind or hit with Knockout.
Of course auras of dead survivors, from killer's PoV.
there is a bunch of situation you will slug everyone to hook them all.

Yes, just stand in front of gate opener and press something key.

I messed up the wording, but you just summed up what I said, which is balancing around oppressiveness, Blight's add-ons at mid to low MMR are fine, but it only becomes oppressive at high MMR. I equated oppressiveness to lack of fun which is not always true, but hopefully you see what I meant there.
Oppressiveness is also not so objective though.
-
Also BHVR declared 3k as win condition, so pretty much guaranteed to have 2-3k is very good.
-
@ActualPainedFrog said:
The only thing I think should be balanced around is oppressiveness, COH, Dead Hard, Blight's add-ons, and the dreaded basement dwelling Bubba's are all things that most would agree are just plain unfun to face.
Tbh palettes in general is worst offense of all things.

@Zolfo16 said:
Look at the tournaments. If they manage to have a quick down they ALWAYS camp.
And in tournaments winning is everything, there is no fun, no courtesy, no mercy.
If they camp this mean that camping is time efficient.
That's purely because game balance sucks.
Not because camping is strong, it's because chasing is unbelievably time-inefficient against any one of the good survivors.
So if you REALLY want to balance things around... oh god, not even high MMR but tourney? okay... has to nerf survivors, not camp.

Then they doesn't deserve SWF tbh, if you actually think about game health.

People actually thinking "SWF give no advantage" is stupid. it's even against BHVR's own data.

First off, Ghostface is terrible at facecamping and Kindred does work on him.
Secondly, Bubba can literally guarantee two Kills by facecamping.
It takes 120 seconds for one person to die, worst case scenario, three gens get done. He gets one more person and hooks them before two more gens get done. The others leave, easy 2K.
If he had perks, it could be worse. Corrupt will buy him time at the start, combine that with NOED and No Way Out and he could easily get three if not all four.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/0IQOVIT33246/count-of-killer-282-29.png
Here's the breakdown of Killers seen in 300 games. Facecamping with Bubba is extremely popular. Also, poor Twins.
Bubba can take rancor and pretty much guarantee 3K 80% of times too.
