Yeah exactly. I would scratch jason though as of now, because of how complicated things are to get license and parties on the same page as when in the live stream Mathieu Cote mentioned how hard it is to get everyone agreed on making the new face for Quentin. and that has been going for some while too, so i cant even imagone how hard or impossible it would be to find a "hole" in that mess of a legal battle from Friday the 13th fanchise
Again, it depends. The difficulties of handling the noes license don't necessarily indicate anything about the f13 license. For quite a while, there was an absolute moratorium on new f13 products because of the lawsuit. Clearly, that's not the case any more. It may be as simple as getting both Miller and Cunningham to agree to shared revenue from the license. It may also be way more complicated. They could probably use Pamela just on agreement with Miller, alone. As far as I know, it was Jason specifically thst the judge declined to give an opinion on. That might free him up to be licensed by either party, or might lock him out to either party.

I'm hoping that it does it's job well. I've had cases before where I'm hit and the killer is nowhere even near me.
What I'm guessing, from a technical standpoint is, it will work based on the positioning of the player and the "attacking hitbox".
Attacking hitbox being the killer's means of attacking you (m1, hatchets, spear, chainsaw, etc).
Think of a positioning like Minecraft's X/Y/Z system. It could check and validate distance in a manner similar to that.
It could also check and determine how long a collision or "hit" was based in milliseconds.
It's true, it's possible the system will work extremely well out of the box, and do exactly what they want it to without skewing things one way or the other.
I just don't have a lot of faith in that outcome, personally.
And if it doesn't work well, it's going to be a hell of a powder keg.

Yeah i would def. not put Nemesis in the first list either. he belongs in the "far fetched list" . Also dracula isn't a licensed character so that's a stretch too
That depends. Specific depictions of the character can be copyrighted and therefore licensed. Such as Gary Oldman from Bram Stoker's Dracula (movie) .
Devs could add Dracula without a license, but not make him look just like the version in thst movie.

yes but on the other side the killer could be nowhere to be seen and suddenly you go down. I faced a doctor who would literally swing like 50 feet away and id still take the damage. And i had a ghostface who walked away and then suddenly i get hit on the other side of the loop. so does the benefits outweigh the negatives?
My general thinking is that it's going to adversely affect normal games just as much as it does killers with 1200 ping. How often do you actually run into killers playing from the moon vs. normal games or *slightly* laggy games?
It wouldn't be worth hamstringing ALL games to try and even up a handful of extreme edge cases.
There's also a question of how effective it will even be against those edge cases. It may lower the amount of completely insane hits, but will it actually level it out to anything fair in the end? Not sure.
Again, all speculation without seeing it in action. I just have a gut feeling thst it's going to be ugly.
-
It's has a high chance of wrecking ######### for ALL killers, not just vpns. It doesn't take a ridiculous ping on both sides to create those weird hits. Even a modest ping from both players will create suspect hits. In those games (not the crazy high ping stuff), the killer is basically on top of you when he hits you, according to his screen. He's a bit outside of range on yours though. From the way it was phrased, the validation making it "more fair" sounds an awful lot like it's going to err on the side of the survivor. Like how grabs currently work. If it winds up that even regular hits have the reliability of a Gen grab now? Yeah, there's going to be riots.
As always, we won't know til we see anything. Most of the "promised land" solutions people think we're getting don't usually wind up working out nearly as well as they did on paper.
-
Never going to happen friend. It's time to let it go. The best you'll ever see if a post game BP bonus, and even that is iffy.

I have a question, have you even seen Candyman before? He's got one of the most tragic and interesting backstories in horror and he doesn't kill people with bees. The bees are more an aesthetic thing and if they got Tony Todd to make small voice lines like they did for Ash along with the voices in the background like they have for madness 3 doctor that would be dope.
You're hyping up Pyramid head as if he's got the legacy or backstory of Jason, Michael, Freddy, and co. though and I'm a huge fan of SH2.
I doubt it's Pyramid head as konami only cares about abusing the series for gambling machines at this point.
Yeah, I've been trying to figure this out as well. Pyramidhead spent years known basically only to RE and SH fans. It was a huge market at the time, and limited to consoles for quite a while. The movies helped push it up a little bit, but you're still way more likely to get a "what the hell is that supposed to be" than a "oh, cool, pyramid head" if you showed a picture to someone off the street.
He's certainly distinctive, but not exactly a household name.
Konami is really the biggest nail in that coffin, though. I mean, BHVR are horror fans making a horror game, so they'd likely see even the niche guys as fun additions. So "iconic" could have a much looser meaning to them than its supposed to.
The "emotional" statement could mean anything, from a childhood favorite, to a franchise one of the team has worked on before (which might not be a bad angle to look at, but I'm not that motivated).
BHVR always leaves a lot of room for interpretation. The tweet from the OP certainly leans way into Candyman, but you can't really ever be sure if BHVR is being legit or just screwing with everyone.
I'd think, at this point, Candyman is almost a guarantee, the big question is if it's this chapter or the next.

Yeah, all points that are in my head as well. Blob is unlikely, but may be able to slip by as it might be a lot easier to rig an amorphous blob than something that needs to imitate an actual skeleton? It definitely has issues in the lore.
I'd giggle like a schoolgirl to hear a dbd killer screaming "Are we not men???"
The biggest kicker for vampire, Wolfman, imhotep, drac, is that they could easily do them without a license, as the general character isn't under copyright. Hell, Frank could be a stitched up flesh golem that was just their early "smasher" idea. It would also be quite difficult to bring in a licensed version of the Wolfman or mummy and have it be recognizable as the actual license version. Frank and Drac would have more luck there.
-
The devs would make more. I imagine the folks at Sony would see it as a threat to their sales though. Xbox could go either way, but since they've got dbd on windows store, they'd probably be a little more likely. I can't imagine it would happen unless all of them were on board, though (maybe not Nintendo).

Pinhead is really the only iconic one on that list.
While I like Candyman, and dearly love Phantasm, they were both both movies with very little mainstream presence and mostly a niche, cult following.
Iconic is literally in the name. You can go anywhere in the world and show people a certain hockey mask, and it will be instantly recognized. The silhouette of a xenomorph, or the face hugger. A glove made out of knives. A guy with a head full of nails, a little doll with crazy hair. A green guy with bolts in his neck. Etc. Those are icons. Candyman wasn't really widespread enough to ever reach it, even after it's cult status well after release. The tall man just isn't unique enough to trigger it. His little silver deathballs WOULD be, if it had been more popular.
That being said, I don't think those are excluded, necessarily. They are all well known to horror buffs, so it's certainly possibly BHVR is going to be using "iconic" kinda loosely considering the audience.

So I'm not new to the game, been playing for like 1 1/2 year, I mainly play on PS4 and after the "leak" about cross progression came out, I've been binge playing on pc, been having a terrible MM as well, rainbow ranks BUT compared to PS4 no one so far has been toxic at all, some survivors have asked me stuff like " are you smurfing? Because you are not a rank 16 I can tell" I just answer " I come from console" people have told me in like 10 matches "you are a really great huntress" and damn it feels amazing not having "you tryhard piece of sh!t" "sweat more", I hope cross progression becomes a thing soon, I'm loving the pc dbd community so far
1) The leak dealt with CrossPLAY, I do believe, NOT crossPROGRESS.
2) Give it time, there's more than a few horrendous people on PC as well.
-
Honestly, between the BP requirements for perks, devs stinginess with blood point events, and the matchmaking, I cannot fathom that dbd is retaining more than a handful of new players that pick it up. I wouldn't be surprised if they retain next to NO new players. It's not a good place to be in. People will always get burned out, get busy, move on, and if new players aren't flowing in, that just kills off the population even faster. BHVR has really let it get out of hand.

I had an idea for a Nosferatu-esque Killer that I never posted and I saw something in the suggestions for a Blob inspired Killer. Either way, it'll be interesting to see what the new Chapter is in a couple weeks
It will. I seriously doubt it'll be either of those. They definitely influenced the world of horror, but it's hard to imagine them having an emotional connection to either, and their influence and iconic status have faded in the modern Era. Even black Christmas, arguably the first slasher, and definitely the one that set the template for the slasher genre overall, isnt really much remembered any more.

I personally run devour hope but this has always puzzled me. Devour hope requires 3 unhooks before it can activate and if you can get 5 you can mori (which against a good team wont happen). Devour hope is obviously active right away which is a blessing and a curse it could get clensed before you even get the first hook. Also noed gives you the speedboost. But yeah just some thought i personally normally run devour hope into thrill of the hunt good luck getting a totem with a 1shot killer lol (but ive seen this used with noed as well].
Noed, like trapper, wraith, and Billy are from an entirely different Era of dbd. Billy aside, that's why their mechanics feel out of date. Noed was from a time before hexes, before a ton of powerful survivor perks. It was shoehorned into being a hex, after devour hope already existed. So they wouldn't really want to copy the mechanics of DH for a perk that does just one part of DH.

My opinion, the new Killer has something to do with gold and oil. The teaser image has the 4 made of gold, the background looks to be gold metal covered in oil, and the skull itself is also made of gold covered in oil.
We can ignore the skull itself. That has been unofficially confirmed to be no more than part of the DbD tally mark logo. The oil might be worth ignoring as well. Can't really say if it should though for a couple of reasons. Oil is called "back gold" and oil has had nothing to do with DbD in the past. But the gold itself is something to focus on if you ask me. If you compare the 4th year teaser with the 3rd year teaser, everything shown is part of the hint. So it is safe to assume the 4th year teaser would do the same. Font used plus background color and materials.
But I simply can't find anything in horror that fits everything. And the common suggestions here don't either. Candy Man has nothing to do with the metal or color gold nor oil plus the font is off as well. Pyramid Head's head shape fits the font VERY well and oil could be blood so old and rotten it turned black, but I can't recall anything about gold in any Silent Hill games/movies.
Iv spent a too long to admit now doing random google searches looking over horror images for movies/games/books trying to find anything. The same font. Something based around gold or oil. Nothing comes close to fitting all 3. Got even less for "classic" horror.
Maybe the gold and oil isn't literal gold and oil. Golden age? Black and white films?
For all I know. The new Killer could be from "The Man Who Laughs".
B&W candidates - Nosferatu, Island of Lost Souls, the Blob, karloff/universal monsters of various sorts.

2 dlc slots popped up on steam, doesn't meant they're both going to release. If they had Candyman pretty ready to go, but delayed it to Sept and went with a different killer, it would also explain seeing this.
-
Ya'll kill me with this pyramid head stuff. He's not an icon, gang. He's only slightly less obscure to most of the world than Candyman. On the opposite end, a study was done once where Jason's hockey mask is literally recognized in every country of the world, even the ones thst don't have running water common. Further, he's owned by Konami, which means there's a paper airplane's chance in hades that we'll see it licensed to anyone, anywhere.
I think the OP is correct that it isn't Candyman.

Licensed Chapters tend to be IPs that don't have something recent/upcoming with released dates. Like the Nightmare on Elm Street Chapter came out in 2017 and the last movie came out in 2010. Saw? DLC came out 2018, last movie came out 2010. It's similar cases with the other Licensed DLC, with the exception of Stranger Things.
Could it be Candyman? I know a lot of people suspect him, but I don't think it's likely BECAUSE of the movie coming out.
Could it be Chucky? Like Candyman, there's a recent movie so it's kinda unlikely.
Could it be Pinhead? It's likely since the last Hellraiser movie came out two years ago.
Could it be a Universal Monster? God I hope so. I want to see what BHVR does with something like the Mummy or the Creature from the Black Lagoon. It's likely it won't be the Invisible Man if it is, since they had a movie come out last year.
Could it be Pennywise? Doubt it. Pennywise seems too similar to the Entity in terms of power, both are primordial entities who feed off fear and can do weird reality warping things.
Could it be the Xenomorph or Predator? The Predator is very unlikely since it has a DbD-esque game out now. Maybe in the future? As for the Xenomorph, I can see it. The last movie came out three years ago and it's only been doing short films right now.
This is just my observation and hypothesis. I'm not dissing on the possibility of these characters being added in the future, I've just noticed a pattern.
Don't forget Nosferatu, one of the most influential horror movies ever released. Also the Blob.

BHVR says the next killer is gonna be an "iconic" horror movie monster, and I'm trying to figure out who it could be, and also thinking about other killers from movies that are still available. Here's what I have so far:
- Jason, of course
- Candyman (who many people think is the most likely next licensed killer since there's a new movie coming out, and many of the other licensed killers have corresponded with their series getting rebooted)
- Tall Man (Phantasm)
- Pinhead (Hellraiser)
- Fisherman (I Know What You Did Last Summer)
With "iconic" it almost seems like they might be going for a killer from something earlier, but Halloween pretty much started the slasher genre, and the only close thing before that would be Psycho, but I don't think Norman Bates would make a good DbD killer.
What do you think? Who else is there? I've been thinking specifically late 20th century horror, but I guess anything's fair game.
As much as I love Phantasm, the Tall Man, and murder dwarves, it's really not all that iconic and didn't really leave a huge mark on horror. 97% of people have never even heard of flying metal brain drilling death balls, even though they would objectively be THE best killer power ever, not to mention a perk in which little hooded munchkins pop up and prevent a survivor from dropping a pallet. The downside is that the survivor would probably have a 4 barrel over/under/side by side shotgun.

i really like candyman but i would disagree about calling it "very" iconic and tony tood marking the world of horror. candyman was a great film and tony todd great actor but barely anyone knows about candyman compared to other horror icons (jason, freddy, myers), and tony todd is only really known for candyman and maybe some b movies like final destination even though he was barely in it
It has made its mark, but only did so long after its release. Which isn't all that unusual. It definitely did not leave a mark at the time. It was outperformed by Lawnmower man, Sleepwalkers, and Alien 3. It did beat out its competition at its release window, but Oct 1992 was one of the weakest release months known to man. Candyman pulled in 25m, LM man and Sleepwalkers were around 35, Alien 3 did 55mil, and Batman Returns, the biggest release of 1992 was something like 152m.

The cooldown sucks, and makes her handle like ass, but she'd still be plenty powerful if she wasn't hammered with match killing bugs every other minute. It's hard to judge the real impact of the cooldown when you suddenly can't actually teleport for several minutes, or you can't go up one level with a full blink staring straight upwards.

I'm not even sure what he's trying to say. The game isn't fun, so that's why he plays it... Further supported by f13 being a better game and that's why he plays dbd?

I won't DC, but I hold myself a strict limit on swf death squads per day. I'm no pro-player. After the second one of the day, I either stop playing altogether, or I drop a lobby where 4 blendettes all drop in with flashlights with a clever naming scheme. I'll abuse myself a little bit, but after that, they really need to go find someone their own size to mess with.

Hi, so I recently bought DBD just over a week ago and have been playing it non-stop pretty much. I recently received a 48hr ban. Whilst in game, somebody else disconnected and as I was getting unhooked, I was frozen in spot for 2 minutes and then the game cut off to the loading screen. I continued to reload the game and then I had a rank error message, and then noticed my 48hr ban. This came not even 2 hours after my 24hr ban reset, which again was out of my control.
I do admit that I have been purposely disconnecting before these two over the top extreme-prolonged bans, as I have just not been enjoying the game. Whether that's because in almost every match, I'll get unhooked by a survivor right next to the killer then I'll be hit straight away again, or that I've been tunnelled creating a extremely horrible gameplay experience. I also have disconnected a couple of times playing killer as I'm barely a green rank facing almost full red rank SWF players. As a new player, and after paying for a game, you expect to have fun and to enjoy the experience rather than be placed in games where you are completely outranked and out-skilled. Or to be placed in games where you have no control because you're being unhooked beside a killer, or other similar scenarios.
I think the team need to reconsider the prolonged ban because anything longer than one hour is completely unnecessary and ruins the game. It makes me want to uninstall and to not want to buy any of the DLC or cosmetics, and to just stick to watching streamers play it instead. If someone pays for a game they should not be punished for leaving a match that they weren't enjoying and that they were getting agitated in, and they especially shouldn't be banned for a disconnect out of their control.
I agree that it affects other players in game but surely there are things that could be done. If someone disconnects just minus one generator that needs to be done or something or double the blood points of other players. Or keep matchmaking bans to a maximum of 30 minutes, not 48 hours. When I'm allowed to play again, and if something happens out of my control again, what will my next ban time be? Also just a side-note to all of this, not everybody wants to play ranked and to play like it's a competition, so why isn't there such a thing as ranked & quick play.
Anyway... I know this was a lot of writing and I know some players will get triggered by this and be like "well don't disconnect then", truth is people get annoyed and it is a normal reaction whilst playing a game. Especially playing such a competitive one. I just hope the team do something about this because I'm not willing to spend any more money on this game until things like this are fixed.
"just over a week ago and have been playing it non-stop pretty much"
"This came not even 2 hours after my 24hr ban reset, which again was out of my control."
"I do admit that I have been purposely disconnecting before these two over the top extreme-prolonged bans, as I have just not been enjoying the game"
"I also have disconnected a couple of times playing killer as I'm barely a green rank facing almost full red rank SWF players."

"If someone pays for a game they should not be punished for leaving a match that they weren't enjoying and that they were getting agitated in"
"truth is people get annoyed and it is a normal reaction whilst playing a game. Especially playing such a competitive one."
1) You are the exact reason the ban system needed to be and got implemented.
2) The normal reaction when people are playing competitive Pvp games is to COMPETE. If they get frazzled and get off their game, they stop playing until they get their head straight. What you are doing is a normal reaction for children. You take you ball away and go see if you can find some smaller kids who you can beat easier.
The entitlement and self delusion throughout this post speaks for itself. You paid for a game you don't enjoy. You watch streamers of said game, so you knew what you were walking into.
Pvp games don't owe you "enjoyment", or not getting your ass handed to you. They owe their entire player base their best efforts to provide a stable and level playing field in which to compete. You get punished for actively sabotaging that.
A game that owes you a guaranteed enjoyable experience and doesn't care how crappy your internet is being is called "single player". All multi-player games carry a caveat of "online experiences and interactions cannot be fully controlled". Persistent ones like EVE can be 100x worse, since your opponents can be literally too far beyond your power and skill for you to even dent them.

But survivors aren't broken. Stats released show that even with SWF, killer is still greatly favored. I solo about 50/50. I play with a lot of SWF when I solo. I'm at red ranked. I don't see these games where the killers are getting buried by SWF. I see a lot of stupid SWF teams that get buried.
Precisely. Why on earth would you balance a game based on its lowest skilled players instead of its highest? The kill stats are absolutely meaningless. I see game after game of Survivors literally throwing away 3 escape after 3 escape and turning it into a 4k. Basement save parties vs leatherface, etc, etc. If Survivors weren't so bored that they had to go looking for the killer and attempt 0% saves just to see some action, the kill vs escape stats would look far different.
Of course you want noobs to have a fun time, but you balance the game around people of decently high skill playing a match with the goal of "winning" it. Not potatoes playing like suicidal lemmings and people trying to maximize BP generation and punching eject at first hook.

great advice play 50% of the game you paid for
It IS great advice. Playing a multi-player game comes with a social contract, one that includes being able to play a match properly. It sucks that you can't reliably play one side of the game... It sucks even more that you willingly and selfishly want to force 4 other people to have to suffer through your bad internet.
For decades now, it's been understood that if you play multi-player, especially match based multi-player, you bring a decent connection. Non-asymmetric games have a long history of being able to vote kick players largely due to exactly this. It seems like a lot of people in the last couple years have gotten on some high horse of "I paid, so I deserve to play whatever I want, even if I'm not willing to get the equipment to do it properly". That's just a ######### thing to do to everyone else.

I had a 3k hour survivor say that to me back when I had 10 hrs total. Half or more of that had been spent in lobbies. And this was a couple years ago. Some things never change.

What are your suggestions?
I personally think Kindred for survivors and maybe Ruin for killers? It would be logical that if the survivor gets off the generator swiftly as the killer is there, the survivor makes a quick screw-up with the wires and can't exactly focus on the generator while the killer chases them. This doesn't mean the killer can't kick generators anymore, because if Ruin was turned into base-kit, then generator regression should likely be buffed too. Do keep in mind, generators that are left alone don't regress because the killer isn't disturbing the survivors. This is also why 3-genning would likely be even more dangerous for survivors.
Everyone talks about how the new Ruin sucks, but they don't talk about how it could be turned into an interesting map pressure base-kit mechanic that isn't bound to a Hex totem.
But that's just my opinion!
What are your ideas for basekit perks?
Unfortunately, new ruin makes some perks completely unusable, so it's current incarnation couldn't be basekit. Noed used to have a timer, which was removed when it was made a hex. Not related to ruin, but as part of your discussion with the other guy about it as basekit. Could be a way to put it in there. Also worth considering that if noed was basekit, then there would never be an excuse for not taking down dull totems.
-
Loss of connection also needs to be included because of how many people out there absolutely willingly play multi-player games, KNOWING they have terrible internet, and get DCed by their poor connection every other game. They refuse to stop playing until they get better internet or get their wires replaced, etc. If it didn't punish for "loss of connection", it'd just continue unabated. If you look at DC complaints over on steam, a huge proportion of them are from people who have unstable connections, know its unstable, and are ticked off that they can't inflict it on everyone else, because they "deserve" to play online multi-player games, even if they are using a 56k connection.

It wouldn’t weaken it at all, I understand this completely, I’d love this change to happen only because when the gates are close same with the noed totem the killer can camp them all holding the game hostage
Sure it would. You have someone sit at last dull totem, noed pops, surv gets totem. Now killer has no perk AND gate are guaranteed opposite ends. The only way this works in a balanced manner is if noed is permanent once activated so that you either blow all totems and skip noed AND the guaranteed furthest doors, or you guarantee the doors at the cost of guaranteeing noed.

You can connect your console controller to your phone already (needs MFI support for iOS, I think all ps4 controllers support MFI and xbox controllers released after the xbox one s).
DbD mobile does not work on bluestacks bc it does not have openGL ES 3.1 (at least there is no emulator that I know with x64, android 5 or higher and v3.1). You can install it, but you cant actually run it.
I got ya. I have a controller I can use, but dbd doesn't support it. I suppose there may be an emulator on Android to use to get the controller janked in as fake touches, but I'm not going to go chugging through that for a cheap port of a game already on my PC. If it supported actual controller input to play, I'd be happy to fiddle with it, as having a newborn has made it a lot harder to hang out at my PC.

This is something I don't think I have seen anyone mention. Why don't the devs just add a chat for all survivors, so anyone who lobbies together can talk? Then once they do that, they can make better balance changes assuming SWF at all times.
Yes this will make it harder for killer until changes are made. However, it seems most people agree that the capability of a team completely changes solo vs SWF. The things that are put in place to help a solo essentially stand on their own can be very abused by SWF teams. If we can give every team the full tools of a SWF, you are only balancing for one type of team (coordinated) instead of putting in "what ifs" for solo teams (uncoordinated).
I also see potential for this reducing the effectiveness of some information parks like kindred, etc. But not making them obsolete. Tbh, this game isn't super easy for callouts anyway, but seeing auras still gives you moment to moment info that verbal communication may not provide. Plus, these perks could be tweaked.
I know this would realistically be a massive undertaking for the dev team. Potential server upgrades for the voice comms, adding the interface for the comms, bug fixes for adding new features are usually a pain, and of course the actual balancing is a lot of work. However, I could see it both reducing the work behind future balancing efforts as well as making the game feel more consistent between matches.(Consistency is kind of overlooked sometimes but very important for player experience.)
The only other main argument against it is that it doesn't fit the aesthetic of a "horror" game. Imo this is not a horror game, but a multiplayer game with horror aesthetics. If you can queue up with other people, you have to assume they are talking to each other. And if the communication between survivors makes as big of a difference as the community feels, then making sure all the teams have the same basic tools should only help you in terms of balancing and consistency.
Sorry for the very long post, I just wanted to hit as many points as I could. What are your opinions? Is there anything I missed with this? I'd also love to hear some counter opinions :)
LOL, this is mentioned in every discussion on the topic of swf vs solo. BHVR refuses because "reasons". Survivors refuse because they have never considered it would come with a mute option (they argue they'd be forced to listen to trolling 12 year Olds).
The rational folks point out that, in places like EU, it'd be a mixed bag with so many languages being spoken.
In the end, it's all BS, though. Every game with intrinsic chat has a mute option. We have dedicated servers, which means the game can use your language settings or have a seperate option to pick your preferred language and largely make sure it's fairly consistent server to server. The devs can say it goes against the spirit of the game of isolation and limited communication, but they threw that out the window the day they activated swf.
In the end, people partying up with friends pays the bills in Dbd. They enjoy having a significant advantage over the pubs, and BHVR enjoys having them spend money. Neither side is going to support anything that risks that.
So, as usual, solo queue and killers - suck it up, try to counterbalance for the 6-8 perks of free advantages using band aid perks in your four slots, and don't forget to spend money on every new chapter.

Sorry if I wasn't clear enough. Next time I will quote the message above me anyway, but I didn't think that was necessary.
No worries. Quotes always help for context, but your comment SHOULD'VE been pretty clear. I think it's just the arrangement made it really easy to transpose visually. I'm sure some amount of confirmation bias played into it as well. You see name and shame mentioned, and you sort of expect it to be a complaint.

where did I ever shame the survivors? I'm pointing out how bad the matchmaking is on ps4 and the huge lack of killers
I think we both got tricked by this one. He's unquoted responding to the post above his saying you should blur. He's saying why should you blur when you WEREN'T shaming. I misread it as well, lol.

But you can't. Dbd mobile uses a touchpad to move that cannot be bound to wasd in any way. It needs a mouse input for a mouse click, and even if you rebind it to instead be a keyboard press instead of a mouse click, you still need 2 cursors which most emulators don't provide--BlueStacks being one of them.
It doesn't have full controller support because that gives an unfair advantage to everyone. Trying to use a controller nets the same result as trying to use mouse and keyboard; it doesn't work.
Not sure what you mean by this, exactly. Most games that work similarly have a TouchPad sorta thing for movement, and you bind wsad so thst pressing one of those is equivalent to pressing that section of the TouchPad. I had done that with identity v for a while before I had a phone that would run it. If dbd works differently, somehow, I'll accept that. Just sounds like what you're describing is exactly what works in my past experience is all.
As far as controllers, if they give an unfair advantage to everyone, then no one would actually have an advantage. Controllers are more and more popular when it comes to mobile/tablet gaming, so, really, it's more just keeping up with the future. Not everyone can have a pc, but just about everyone who can game on a phone can pick up a 8-10$ controller.

Yeah, it wouldn't be as big an issue if the matchmaking handled it.
CS:GO for example, you can't queue with a large disparity in ranks unless you have a full lobby, and then it matches you as if you were all the rank of the highest person in your lobby. So sure, you can do whatever you want, but you can't abuse your opponents with it. You can only take on the consequences yourself.
My second day playing DbD I was getting full lobbies of rank 3 people who rushed gens like mad and then just trolled and acted like clowns once they realized. But question why it works that way and the reply is, "Just a party game!"
Oddly enough, it stops being "Just a party game" as soon as I get any kind of upper hand. Then it's, "FU nub killer so lucky U lagswitcher #########!11!!" (Yes, I actually got accused of lagswitching when I dared to get a kill on one of these groups. Ok, I guess.)
It's always been weird that dbd works differently. Pretty much every mmog, even mmos handle groups by either making it so the difficulty is set to the highest level, or by removing rewards altogether if theres a high level helping a low level with content.
If a true r20 has queued up with r1 friends, they KNOW they are playing in the big leagues and are out of their depth. The killer on the other end who is a rank 14 or whatever has no idea that they're about to land into a game where only half (or less) of the opponents are in their skill level. Makes no sense at all.

I play ps4 as well and there is a huge lack of killers. It takes usually more than 10 minutes to get into a survivor lobby whereas killer is almost instant. Makes it not worth playing because of the amount of time you have to wait.

I think you misinterpreted that, theyre agreeing with what you're saying
You're correct, I read that as "why isn't this naming and shaming", my bad. Thanks for pointing that out.
