  • Even if you are the last survivor, if it is your first hook you have three chances to pull yourself off hook. They're small chances (4% each if memory serves) but you still have the chance. Are you saying there should be a higher chance for them?

    comparing R6 to DBD xd

games with voicecoms hmmm friday the 13th had and died, last year hmmm died, League of legends got voice coms but were smart with it and only premade had it (but even after adding that most ppl are using discord because you can talk with ppl from outside of game)

most ppl would turn it off or never used it, and only thing that all survivors would get from it is nerf xd and whenever some random guy ask about it on stream i only see negative answers soo

if you want opinion of more ppl (instead of me having different opinion than yours) just do poll on forum, but you should add "its only to survivor mains" (because you will have "survivor nerf" inside and most killer mains will auto pick it), and make it like that:

Do you want built in voicecoms with randoms (but survivors will be nerfed because of that)?

    Yes

    No

    I will mute it anyway

Comparing them only in the sense that teamwork is necessary and people agree that comms makes it significantly easier. But I suspect you are ignoring that to try to just poke fun.

Those games didn't die because of voice comms, there were plenty of other issues. In the same vein I could list the ton of games that have voice and are doing fine. Voice comms didn't kill those games so it's not a valid point.

I just don't see the same hate for voice comms that you are experiencing. I have not met anyone with the same opinion that "all voice comms bad" so I cannot see the argument that "most people will turn it off" making any sense. Maybe a few people will, but oh well that's their loss.

Also stop with the "killer main only want surv nerf" thing. It's not some gang war between sides, playing killer more doesn't mean you automatically want weaker survs and vice versa. It would just make the game boring

dude we have like 2 or 3 those threads per day xd just use 5 mins to scroll at most 2 pages xd (im just teaching ppl to think before literally spamming) its not idea police its antispam police xd

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1222706#Comment_1222706

ok so let me answer your question, why built in voice comms would be bad:

at 1st youre assuming ppl would talk to you in english (maybe youre from NA but in EU its not that easy there is plenty of ppl that cant/dont even try to type in english in pre game and post game chat, and IMO its harder to make someone speak in english)

2nd youre assuming everybody has good enough micro to use or just are willing to use

3rd do you think most ppl would like to hear 13yo child or ppl that are literally living trolls?

4th not to mention fact that streamers/YT hate voicecoms in game (random shouting N words etc)

i can promise you majority of players would perma turn off this crap and just be punished for that xd

i live in east EU and i dont want to hear in every 2nd game those 2 magic russian words :)

I think the "policing" comment he made was more brought on by your condescension than your point. But it's hard to find anything else through the many "matchmaking unfair" posts. If you're the anti spam police, I direct you to the main culprit.

The points that you made are things all games with chat run into, however they all still feel chat is important enough to ignore those things for. Language barriers are everywhere (not just EU) and you don't need to be fluent to make callouts, just know some choice words, trust me people aren't that dumb when they actually want something.

People without mics still get the benefit of other players callouts, so it's still an improvement for solos.

If someone is being annoying or you're streaming, just mute them. Note how I didn't say "make the game only possible with comms" just to balance for it.

I disagree that most people would turn off the chat. I also play R6 Siege where having a voice chat is incredibly useful for callouts. People keep it on just for the info so they can play their game better. You on rare occasion have to mute someone sure. But those two button clicks are totally worth the info in the many other rounds you play

  • Well if course games should still be winnable with no communication. Albeit harder in this case. But you do still benefit from the other people who have mics making callouts. One surv with a working mic is still very valuable for the rest of the team.

  • @Galklife said:

ok i guess you're one of those that thinks noone ever gave that idea, just find other post about it and read 1000000000 arguments why that wont happen/its bad idea, if you want i can copy paste one of my comments to those but still read forum instead of making 1000s thread about same idea

Woah dude, I have been coming here on occasion for a while now. Not a whole ton, but here and there. I just haven't seen any people talk about this in my time here. Sorry I set you off so bad right in the first sentence though. Wasn't trying to be "special" with my legitimate question. I didn't think I was the only one who thought about it, I just said I haven't really seen people mention it and gave a detailed explanation of why I think it's a good idea.

Yeah I'm a brand new player to both killer and survivor and last night we got ranked with a killer that was clearly out of our league so I feel your pain. Some players may say use this opportunity to "get good", but it's hard to "get good" when you're getting wrecked match after match because you don't have the experience or the perks to barely last 5 minutes. This is what causes multiplayer only games to have dwindling player bases.

This absolutely. If you are brand new and have no idea how looping and such work. How are you to learn at all if much more skilled killers down you in 2 seconds. You can't get good if there is no opportunity to learn.

What does "y'all" mean, for those of us who speak regular English?

It means "you all" it's relaxed slang generally accepted in the English dialects of people who aren't needlessly pretentious about the way people communicate.

Have you ever played survivor and been camped/tunneled? It's the most unfun thing ever.

The only fun part of playing survivor is getting into a chase that lasts a decent amount of time. It's LITERALLY the only fun part of playing survivor. When the person playing killer loses sight of that the game easily takes a nose dive as far as fun.

I've seen tons of people on both sides agree that the chases are the most fun part (I agree as well). The problem being that a long chase for killer is also very stressful because a couple gens could easily go off in that time and you have only been doing one of potentially 12 chases.

  • So like why can't we just let them be happy about getting a win? Why do we need to make a whole post saying "yeah I know you're happy, but I hate that you're happy so here's actually why you shouldn't be that happy". Just let them be happy with their wins.

The thing I do is look for the killer for him to chase me first cause I'm the "good looper" in my SWF, is that toxic? They tend to chase me for a lot of time and make it "personal" I guess

I would totally ignore you as soon as I saw you were trying to bait me. If youre a surv and I see you want me to do something , no way I'm falling for that. Besides that O get a free surv chasing me and staying off gens.

But of course they take it personally! It's a Chase between the two of you and even if they realize what they should have done later, in the moment it is incredibly frustrating and they want to get that out!

Either way, chasing killers around and communicating with a full SWF? That is such a pain as killer and I would be so excited to Mori you.

nah fam you all got it twisted and putting hypotheticals on the webs. If a killer deserves a kill ill give it to him. When he slugs the whole team just because he can and he knows we will get penalties if we DC thas not okay and ONE of the MANY instances im referencing which has already occurred since they placed the matchmaking lock on console.

They need to put a matchmaking lock if you DC more than once within the same hour... 👍️

Listen I'm lucky if I get 3 or 4 games in an hour. If you think people should able to DC from every third or fourth match with no penalty your definitely part of the problem.

Im going to go ahead and guess you are fairly new to the game, less then 600 or so hours

No, the mechanic is in place because otherwise the last survivor would hide all game.

Nobody would work on gens as the sole survivor.

Exactly, that's the painfully boring standoff I am referring to

Hatch is a pity escape for the last survivor because gens can't be worked on by teammates if it's 1v1 and you're getting chased, meaning there's no other way to escape. This doesn't change the fact that a lot of people play bad knowing they can escape through hatch after letting their team down. Hatch is necessary, but it should give less points so that people prefer to escape the right way rather than getting a pity escape.

You keep saying pity escape but it's just flat out not. The game is basically impossible for a 1v1, the mechanic is in place to make the game exciting the whole time through. It's not meant to just give some poor pitiful soul an escape, it's meant to prevent the painfully boring standoff that a 1v1 with a survivor the killer can't catch would be.

That being said, without keys, if both hatch and door are available, the hatch is realistically the riskier move. And thus is reasonable to have more points on.

  • There's no need for that attitude man. They have as much of a right to post here as you do and they're comment was totally valid with no attacks to you.

  • Its likely a jab at the way internet providers are set up in the US, a series of companies has basically split control over different regions. It's rare to have options of providers (at least in the rural areas im used to) which allows for bad price gouging

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1089926#Comment_1089926

I just said when fixing the typo, Hatch is a pity escape plain and simple, it shouldn't give more points, that's it.

Not really. Hatch is kind of a balance thing. The game is basically impossible when it gets down to 1v1. How you get to a 1v1 could be because you're the best in the game or because you're just camping etc, doesn't matter. Hatch changes the gameplay from a hopeless surv just trying to do gens and hide (not gonna happen 1v1) to a race between the two that is actually kind of interesting and exciting. So it's not really a pity mechanic as much as it is a try not to screw someone over mechanic.

Beyond that, the exit gates light up and are huge and easy to spot for both sides. The hatch is much harder to find in comparison with just an audio queue when you are fairly close. Definitely requires more personal effort than just running through the door. And if you consider opening the door (1250 points) it's pretty close to the hatch in total bp gains.

That assumption is wrong, it incentives people to play bad all game.

How? By camping hatch or something? If they're paying any attention they would realize that the extra 2k from hatch isn't worth them playing a camp game and gaining no other points. Only thing I find super annoying about it is when the last man in game will search for hatch when the exit gates are open.

  • I feel like hatch (without keys) can be a more difficult escape with more specific conditions in which it's available. Seems like it should be worth more points

ok, soooo thats good? because to me that just feels a bit robot-ish, no own opinion of thoughts.

It's the in game scoring system, it's totally valid to use it to determine a win or lose. Otherwise it's kind of like playing a hockey game and saying "Oh you think you won because you scored more points? Sounds robot-ish to me".

  • I just started playing in January. The first thing I did when I had any idea what I was doing was grab the Leatherface DLC and immediately grind him to 40. The Leatherface DLC frequently goes on sale for about $3 USD which is not much of a paywall and the double BP makes the grind of starting the game much less intimidating.
