  • Stop tempting them... The only BHVR solution will be nerfing Billy, not uplifting the low tiers.

  • Harpoon guns generally fire rifle blanks to launch the spear.

  • Good job, although you missed one of the bigger sets of data tracked in the depip squad experiments. Time til first Gen, time of last Gen, and time doors opened, and time when match ended. This, along with the time ruin got blown up (if at all), provide an important insight into the progression of the game. Originally, the time of every Gen getting done was tracked, but it was tedious, added too many columns, and was eventually deemed not as important as first and last. It is important to be consistent. You need to always play as hard as possible, and generally also try to stick at one rank. Last suggestion is to record all the games, play them as normal, then go back through and watch them. If you take an offset of the time when the opening spin ends, you can subtract it from the vid time and peg the time of all events, while watching it over at 2x speed.

    Again, though, good job!

Not all game communities are quite as toxic as this, Ive been PVPing since Ultima Online in the 90s - for example in the speedrun community, you can litewrally beat someones World Record time and they will congratulate you, be friends with you and even learn from your run. Beat someone in this game, you get told they will kidnap your family (had it done to me) never in any other game did I have my child threatened.

While there is toxicity in online gaming, its not quite as bad as in this game where you get told to ######### just for winning match as Hag.

Glad there's another old timer around. While I was gaming and online back then, I never did get involved in UO, but I did get involved in Shadowbane. There was a lot of trash talk and posturing, but it was a far, far different animal than the ######### I see today. I've pretty much become convinced that society is becoming a bunch of sociopaths. It has nothing to do with the actual games, in shadowbane, you could siege someone's city that they spent weeks building up, burn the whole thing to the ground and then camp their corpses all day, killing them on every respawn... and you still didn't get the kind of nastiness you see after someone spent 10-20 minutes investing in a match here.

This is one of the most moderate patches the dev team has ever pushed out with tweaks on both sides and yet all we hear about is how "killer sided" the patch was. It's crazy.

I'm still wondering how long it's going to take some of these killers who don't read patch notes to realize they're degrading their emblem by camping. Literally just had a game where they camped two people and me and the other person got away and I got more than double the killer's score even with them getting two kills(they had like 7 or 8k) so there's no doubt in my mind they didn't black pip.

I've said this a million times... But Campers DON'T CARE. You can't punish a camper who camps to piss people off.  It has no effect.
  • Whoever was writing notes was extracting and refining nectar from the plants, so that's likely the poisonous chemical being created at the bottom.  Perchlorates are used in pools and in explosives /rocket fuel.  It's a potent oxidizer. Chromium Perchlorate is used in the equations (pyrotechnics, propellant), and chromium Hydroxide is used as a green dye, and also a catalyst.  It can be dissolved in a strong enough acid, which may be why there's chloric/Perchloric acid at the end of the writing.  No idea what exactly it would all be for, but pretty sure those reactions are just refining the flower nectar.

OH, and the heme molecule up top is likely because he was experimenting injecting rats, so he's trying to figure out how the flower nectar is going to interact with the blood.
  • Just to point out, whether the killer is her or not, the mori is already animated and done.  Everything is done for the killer at this point.  The only things that will be changing are possibly numbers on perks, moves peed, etc.
  • If all four Survivors are standing in a clump when a big yellow chainsaw geek is walking towards them revving, they deserve to lose.
  • I'd just point out that it could be NEITHER character in the trailer. We hear a man addressing his daughter, what if his daughter is off camera and he is teaching her to be a killer?  Not putting a lot of stock in it, but it's possible.

Also, Cote said Paulie got AT LEAST one thing right, not ONLY one thing. So it doesn't necessarily mean everything except Japanese is wrong.
  • Speed hacks are a lot more rare these days, as devs moved some positional checks to host's computer.  Anything can and eventually will be defeated, though.  There's an Unreal engine exploit that sometimes looks like speed hacking, but generally causes more teleporting.  Your best defense is to always let lobbies count all the way down.  The free anti-cheat bypasses cannot keep Eac at bay for the entire timer.

OH, and Orion is correct, dbd has a new report team, who actually are looking in to things.  There has been a lot of hacked save files banned in the past few weeks, and let's face it, most people using active hacks have probably also hacked their saves.

    no it isnt, its Kuchisake-onna

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kuchisake-onna

How is it Kuchisake-onna? In the trailer, the man says "There is no point, dear daughter.
We are born to die. The more we wait, the more pain we carry." The person the guy was killing, was his daughter; not his wife. In legend, it was a wife that was killed, not a daughter.

The two possible killers at this point might be "The samurai" or "The Oni"

How to demonstrate it's the slit-mouthed woman :

    1) the man in the trailer talked. This would be a first after so many killers and survivors to get a character who actually talk beside the Entity, so probably not to show off the killer but more the story of the killer.
    2) in the Slit-mouthed woman legend she cheated on her samourai husband who slitted her mouth in a big smile. then she suicided and roamed around to ask people if she was pretty. She also usually wears a surgery mask such as Feng in her first set of cosmetics.
    3) the mask we see in the first second of the trailer is an Hannya mask. Hannya are vengeful woman spirit seaking revenge.
    4) the fact that the man say "daugther" doesn't means his victim is his daughter but could be just him quoting a famous poem like a lot of villain before killing someone does in movies or series ( Joker in Batman 1989 or Jules in Pulp Fiction quoting the Bible )

You have valid points, except 3.  That is absolutely NOT a Hannya mask.  Hannya is stylised a particular way, and that mask with its third eye, wild hair, and snaggle teeth is definitely an Oni mask.  It may or may not be a hint to the killer, but that's what sort of mask it is.

‘Someone’ has already leaked his account and such to a BHVR game moderator on Discord.
‘They’ found it extremely suspicious that he had a purple flashlight and a green and yellow battery on his Level 5 David.
Hopefully BHVR keep an eye on him.
To be fair, one of his little mushrooms probably gave it to him in game.
  • He also said "at least one thing right"  not "only one thing"

Mind sharing the maps or the a screenshot? Interested in seeing what it could be :o

In the Clown's map, in the little hut or whatever with his suitcase, there's a drawing of a woman on the same wall as the suitcase, but on the opposite end. There's a drawing of a long object that looks like a cross an axe with a very small blade and a bat. In The Game, there's a drawing of a machine (can't remember the exact location, but it's full of diagrams regarding the RBTs), and if you look closely, the "legs" of the machine resemble this axe/bat. Could be nothing, though.

Could it be a drawing of a pendulum?  That was what first came to mind.  Likely unrelated to New killer, but I'd love to see a few screenshots if you happen to get some.
  • 4 flashlights and I'm out.  I've got no problem with flashlight Saves, but the blind effect causes real, actual, physical pain.  Since devs won't add a Grey-out option to it, I'm just not going to subject myself to a game where I know the goal is to flash me as much as possible.

You just didn't found it before.

No I even stated I've found all 5 before and none was ever lit that's why I figured 1 was a NOED totem but turns out it was a Devour hope, it was their only hex perk. I've had other games like that as well.

You either hallucinated or you missed the explosion of it. Or the killer could not get at least 3 stacks . But it is still lit.

I also could've seen an unlit totem and not hallucinated at all nor miss counted because I always count how many I do. I also always count how many broken totems I've seen to know how many are left. Also I've never missed the explosion since I know exactly what it looks and sounds like either up close or from a distance.

The killer could've not gotten the 3 stacks yet but when I've killed all 5 and none are lit and the killer still has Devour Hope as a perk that means it's bugged. Just because you've never seen it happen doesn't mean it hasn't.

It's no different than the other rare bugs that pop up and people like you say it didn't happen. Then along comes other people and whammo the devs either reproduce it or see video of it. In every game out there bugs like that happen and don't always appear frequently enough.

I am totally willing to give you the benefit of the doubt that it was a bug, this IS dbd, after all.  Even still, everything EXCEPT noed is SUPPOSED to light a totem at match start.
  • I've been feeling that the ease of healing leads to a lot of oft complained about issues (like tunneling) .  I'd personally like to see a ptb where injured state actually DOES something to the survivor (like slows action speeds at least) , and self healing is only available with a medkit.  I have a feeling Gena would immediately take longer to be finished, and that many killers would be letting a lot more injured Survivors go in order to interrupt gens/chase a fresh one.  May be wishful thinking though.
  • I never have.  I'd rather just get on to the next one.  On the other hand, I have been in matches stuck looking around for the last guy because he wants to play hide and seek and just wants me to SEE him jump in.

  • Ffs,  man, you are going to suggest noed relights a dull totem when survivors are already too lazy to go break them in the first place? You are gonna get crucified in here.
  • powerbats said:

    @Dr_doom_j2 said:

That's an option, but it doesn't feel like a necessity, and anecdotal evidence has nothing to do with a trend. Most survivors do NOT break dull totems, not in the implied necessity anyway. And the point isn't to give survivors free points. My point was, as far as the killer is concerned, you may as well remove dull totems if you remove NOED because other than simple greed, there is no need for them to exist. No NOED = No incentive to break dull totems  = Gens get rushed with no fear

    Thrill of The Hunt
    Devour Hope
    Ruin

Do I really need to go on here since survivors will always break dull totems whether NOED exists or not. It's also amazing how when NOED is used killers still complain about gen rushing. I always break totems since the killer might be running Devour Hope which is even worse than NOED because then you not only get downed instantly but can get killed without ever going near the hook.

Throw Devour in with one of the other perks like Warden etc and you can wreck them.

You realize all those perks cause the totem to be lit, right? If you see ruin and go around breaking dull totems to try and get rid of it...
  • If its false, you have no worries.  Also, there's a lot of options to record video without being a streamer. So yes, there could be evidence.  That said, being able to hack and actually play as a killer is no easy task, and has to be paid for.  A recent ban wave picked up a whole lot of folks using one of the more popular paid hacks.
  • Didn’t he “quit” like a couple months ago when deathgarden alpha started? He’ll be back. I don’t find DG very entertaining. It’s an asymmetrical FPS. FPS’ are a dime a dozen. I was drawn to DBD for its unique horror elements as well as the randomness of the character interactions.

I remember when Tru3 started streaming Battlefront 2. It was fun to watch for a few minutes but it gets repetitive fast. Aim point shoot Camp. Repeat.
Well, no, he said he liked DG enough that he would leave dbd for it when it came out.  It's basically out, and he's leaving dbd behind.  So no, he hasn't quit "again", although he did start mixing in more titles after the DG alpha.  He planned on, and has been playing dbd since.  Not any more, though.
  • I dont agree with him, and it's not just me being a bad killer.  DS, NOED, Nurse, they're all just symptoms of the problems in this game.  Lack of time and lack of lasting consequences drive all the band-aids this game has.  Most of the "crutches" either wouldn't exist or would have far less impact on a match if it wasn't for the root issues.

You can start fixing it by making being injured actually affect your medkit. (Slows your actions speed greatly) and limiting self-healing to only medkits. With 2 hits and 3 hooks available, there is no reason for injured status to simply be an animation change with some extra tracking attached.  Obviously, several perks would need reworking, and many more can be altered to mitigate some of the penalties from injured.
  • Killer side hacks are generally the province of the actually hack makers.  They get bored with the game after a while, but they'll come back for event/double bp
  • Admittedly, I'm positive EAC still shits the bed pretty frequently.  ESP hacks used to be almost entirely private, but that's changed a little.  As per usual, it's a survivor side ESP though.  Killer side ones are almost entirely kept private.  And the private bypasses that get used may be more effective than the public one, so counting down isnt going to prevent all hackers, but it will weed out the majority.  Bhvr IS actually getting better at detecting them (they recently pegged one of the paid ones as well), and getting better at mitigation (survivor speed hack is pretty well shut down at this point, due to position checking through host).
  • Thana is #1 on the list of "Sounds good on paper, but in reality is an MS paint fill tool"
  • Survivors heal in the tr all the time.  Even when they know you have the perks.  Further, even when they avoid it, you can often catch them out when moving into range.  It takes people a second to react, which is enough to get a flash.
  • There was an esp type hack released publicly not too long ago. PSA: Dont ready up until the 20 second mark.  Public hacks cannot make it through a full lobby count without getting kicked.
  • T2, and apparently sometimes t3 if 2 gens pop at once (not verified personally)
  • That is the entire, actual point of the bubble.  It wasn't an accident.  Just like it's not an accident that the music jumps up in a chase and can't be turned down in the menu - it's there to make it harder for the killer to hear survivor sounds while chasing.
  • If they only have toth and are guarding it religiously, you shouldn't need us to tell you they were just screwing around.

@ChesterTheMolester I agree, my second game EVER with him was a 4K with 1 gen remaining, I fell he needs tweaking, because it seems almost easy when I picked him up

I thought you weren't asking for a nerf? Here's the answer...the survivors were terrible.

Billy is the most balanced killer in the game, hands down. He can be extremely powerful in the right hands and if used correctly. Those who say "he's easy to use" are usually morons.

Leave Billy and his skill house alone.

No he’s not. It just seems like that because killers in general are too weak. If the devs somehow balanced the killer mode, both nurse and billy would need a nerf. He should not move quite as fast as he does with that chainsaw

It's entirely possible that slightly lowering his chainsaw speed would make him MORE dangerous.
  • I think they specifically talked about changing the shoe a stream or two ago
  • Getting 4 stacks of wglf is easy as anything.  Missing a stack of bbq is as easy as having a survivor DC or fail to load in... Which seems to happen about 50-75% of games.
  • Survivors have an excuse to ditch for a 600-800 ping, but the killer is just supposed to suck on it when the 800 ping survivor refuses to leave the lobby on his own?
  • You realize a lot of killers are forced to ditch a lobby because of some 600 ping surv from across the ocean won't leave on his own?  Once there's 4 survivors in, they wind up with a deadline to kill the lobby.

Also, if you think your wait times are rough now, they'd be getting a whole lot worse.

And why do you think you had the same killer 8 times in a row?
