I see, and should we expect to see such improvements soon? Or should we expect them in accordance with the devs established record on improving killers?
They're much faster with the nerfs.
I believe they mentioned something about Legion in the stream. I can't recall what it was, but I remember they did. The devs showed what they can do with Freddy, and it is quite impressive. I believe they will do good on Legion once his time comes.

It had. Just use the YouTube searchengine if you are interested to know the counterplays, survivors had against the Legion.
It's anyways better as to write a long text again, that then not got readed.
I am maybe done with giving survivors tips in the forums, but I don't let stay a lie.
Enlighten me on his counters. Please. I would absolutely love to know them.

Can you accept on principle though that something being problematic doesn't make any solution a net improvement?
I understand people are upset over Legions changes, but I feel like gutting him sets him up and allows the devs more room to make whatever tweaks or changes they need to. He will be a good killer, he just needs some decent number improvements.

I guarantee you, while Bullying with friends will stay untouched, the Nurse will be turned into a power gauge laughing stock.
The day Monstrum 2 will be released can't come soon enough.
Nurse deserves to be nerfed. Her power simply breaks the game. But, they should buff all other killers not named Billy, Hag, and Spirit to around Billy level. Then, bridge the gap between solo and SWF and balance accordingly. Definitely easier said than done though.

sighs there was more counterplay.
The way how you argue shows that you event don't know what is was, but as said before, I don't see a point in writing now a tutorial for it, because I know, you will find some short words as excusment why you have not read that tutorial, or why that can't be the truth, even if it got written by pre Legion main - aka. the person who should know its best, since mains spent the most time with their favorite character.
Think, what you want, but this mindset will you always lead to killers that are op for you.
Missed a hit, whoops guess I'll just swing 55 more times until I hit him
Vaulted a window? Guess I'll just vault way faster.
Dropped a pallet? Guess I'll just vault the pallet and hit him.
The point is, pre patch Legion had 0 counter play. There is literally no defending him.

Why punish the Nurse for killing survivors? Oh wait, what's that? They're not punishing the nurse; they're just making her more fair to play against. THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN TO SWF!!! It's the bias of entitled survivors that blinds them from seeing that obvious reality. Any rework of swf similar to the rework of the nurse is "punishing teamwork".
And while obviously solos can bring anything an swf group can, it's the massive advantage that voice communication gives to swf groups that makes use of what they bring WAY more impactful than what solos bring. Any killer aura reveal a single swf group members brings reveals the killer's location for the entire group. That doesn't happen for solo players. An insta heal can be used as soon as another survivor goes down with easy for an swf group. It requires a hell of a lot more effort for a solo player. Kindred is almost useless for SWF groups but crazy useful for solo players.
You punish the Nurse because she literally breaks the game.

It's about the case because for 3 years survivors have persistently made it about the chase and resisted every single effort to get them to diversify.
They ask for things without thinking, they complain when they get what they asked for, they don't know what they want and the devs must stop listening to them.
Generalizing survivor players. Nice.

Except the ones survivors are fine with using when all their resources for their preferred playstyle are exhausted and what they used to do before pallet-looping was introduced(not every survivor used infinites back then) along with 6+ stackable 2nd-chance perks.
Sorry, I forgot it's okay to have a killer who ignores all chase mechanics in a game that is about the chase. Silly me.

@ABannedCat said:
Its just sad how all survivors can do nowadays is looping. They dont realise its not the only mechanic in the game. The Nurse's base speed is slower than survivor, so she needs her blinks to catch up. This alone implies that she is not supposed to be looped. You need to outwit her. Juke her, gain distance with line of sight blockers, and the like.
People who complain about her, because you "cant loose her once she found you". You do realise its 4v1? You are not supposed to be able to 1v1 the killer. It should be a constant rotation of hooks. Chase, hook, chase, hook, chase, hook, until either all gens are done, or the killer killed off everyone. All depending on how well everyone played. The Nurse is no different in that.
The only difference between the Nurse and everyone else is that you have no safezones against her. All loopable killers have places on the map where its physically impossible to catch any half decent survivor. Unmindgame-loops. Places where the skill of the killer litterally doesnt matter at all, unless you are the Nurse.
Both the killer and survivor's skill should matter in a chase at all times. This is what the Nurse offers.
Her basekit is fine. Her add-ons break her.
A survivors skill and knowledge is irrelevant verse a Nurse while in a chase. Breaking LOS is great and all, until the Nurse actually blinks to where LOS was lost and uses her second blink as the precise blink. If the Nurse does this, there's really nothing you can do. Knowledge of where pallets and windows are doesn't matter and knowing how to run tiles doesn't matter. Nothing really matters verse Nurse. You basically hope you don't get seen, and if you do, well you're dead.

You don't cite a specific person or post and I'm not going to make assumptions.
However, when I suggest stealth it's because I know what the next response is going to be: 'but it's boring' or in effect that. If someone keeps coming across a scenario where looping is not working(Nurse etc), pointing out that stealth is an option that exists completely neutralises the demands that are often attached to complaints about looping not working. People can not say 'Nurse ignores all mechanics' as if looping, windows and pallets count as 'all mechanics'. People who say this are themselves ignoring all mechanics, except the ones they have tunnel-vision for.
Then the discussion moves on to whether more generally stealth is viable, which of course it generally isn't: but what started the topic was not a general thing but a specific scenario and even looping survivors do resort to stealth sometimes. The frequent abuse of the limited killer PoV(borked since the Unreal engine update, which the devs said was an unintentional bug but they had no plans to ever fix it) is a stealth strategy; they're trying to get hide from the killer right next to them.
If I was being unfair, I'd suggest that Karl's earlier speculation about why killers bring up stealth was a case of projection: instead of 'killers wanting more stealth emphasis because they want easier and faster chases', what this reveals is survivors don't like a choice that locks them in but always more 2nd-chances. When looping, pallets, windows and get-out-of-jail-free perks are exhausted, they then use something which they claim isn't viable in any other context: stealth, usually to great-effect.
I'm not going to be unfair though, because I don't know if that's true for anyone or survivors generally. I do think that survivors don't know what they want, which precludes me assuming they want that.
In a game that revolves around killer-survivor interaction, why should there be a killer that denies every tool a survivor has at their disposal during an interaction.

They admitted her addons needed work, not her base kit. There's a difference. Her kill rate is high at rank one, because that's a LOT of experience needed to fuel her killing spree. Why punish somebody who has experience?
You realize you're punishing survivors who have thousands of hours of experience too by having Nurse ignore all chase mechanics, right?

Balanced? In the current state of the game with gen times, she is somewhat needed. But she is not balanced lol

I am loving them so far. I find that the larger amount of less safe pallets is better than having a smaller amount that are very safe.

Hey, if you all really like looping, that's fine. I just want those of us who prefer a different playstyle to have the choice for stealth.
If we all can agree to that, I don't see how there can be any problems.
Clearly I was ranting in my initial post because at the time I was so fed up with looping. It just looks weird for one when a characters body is leaning on the wall running from you down to the most accurate pixel.
I'd be down for giving more points for stealth, as long as looping stayed as is. I don't see the problem in that. I see a problem though with wanting stealth to be the main thing in the game over looping. Removing looping would be a horrible idea for the games sake.
-
@GrootDude said:
Imo removing looping would make the game really boring, I’ve played against plenty of squadettes and it wasn’t fun playing hide and seek with them.
I had a game yesterday where two survivors hid from me and I had to walk around the map for 5 minutes before I found someone. What a fun experience that was. I almost DC'd too.

The game was initially oriented around stealth when it first released but Survivors found the unintended exploit of looping and devs just went with it and now claim it as a feature in the game. There are many people who like stealth why do you all keep thinking everyone likes to run the killer around in circles? Not everyone does.
Because the vast majority of players who play the game are the ones who do like to run the killers around. Making stealth more prominent than looping would hurt the game more than it would help it. There's plenty you can do about looping. It basically is a game of can you out skill your opponent. It isn't like other horror games, that do incentivize stealth. And to me, that is what makes this game as popular as it is. Because it is different.

that's because stealth has been nerfed doesn't give a lot of BP and doesn't really help emblems. That's the terrible state of the game some survivors lobbied for.
Obviously you are now left with plenty of toxic bold survivors... in a horror game lol that's why dbd is a joke
Or, maybe it's because it is a complete snoozefest for both sides for almost anyone who has 1000 hours in the game. Watch any streamer with thousands of hours and see what they do the most. Stealth becomes very boring to many players very fast, I myself got tired of stealth after my first 5 days of playing the game. I can guarantee you myself and many many others wouldn't be playing right now if this game was oriented around stealth. The start of this video is exactly what I mean:

That's an assumption based on nothing, if looping were never a part of the game we cannot predict how the game would be in terms of numbers and health.
That's an assumption based on the amount of players who play stealthily vs the amount who play boldly and like to engage in chase. The latter has a much more significant amount from what I've observed.

This seems very unfair to those that have invested countless hours in learning the nurse. All you really need to is make her purple addons useful since you heavily nerfed her years ago and make her range addons so they don't stack.
Man you're going to have a hard time without your 3rd blink

Looping is why this game is alive right now. Get rid of it and see what happens to the player base numbers.
-
A small nerf right now is needed. But, once they increase gen times by a bit, she needs much larger nerfs.

Why would you get rid of the thing that is keeping the game alive? 90% of the people with thousands of hours in this game keep coming back to it because of survivor-killer interaction.

What are the right spots? All I've ever seen be useful is putting them next to high traffic vaults like shack to force slow vaults.
Usually in the middle of the thing they're looping around. So, if there's debris on the right of the pallet, you would put it in the middle of the debris and force them into the snare. From that point on, you would either let them panic and vault into you, or lunge and hit them. Or you can just spam them everywhere and assure that they go down. Im not sure if I explained that really well, so here's a few examples to hopefully show what I mean:
-
Against good players, the snares have proven to be more effective and useful. I don't think they need any other changes imo
-
I'm betting the nerfs, if any, will be to his teleport. The snares and pallets are pretty balanced. His teleport is too, but survivors don't seem to like the fact that he has very good map pressure.

For game health, I agree, but I hate no blood, useless power, and missing attacks for a stun :(
I don't see the reasoning behind removing the blood and making his vault speed way slower, but I do see why they did the missed attacks fatigue. I am in favour of that, because it punishes the player for missing a swing like any other killer. But, it is much more harsh because of the fatigue time. I would like to see the swing penalty stay, but make his fatigue time shorter.
-
Use them like you would Hags traps or Clowns bottles. They're very effective on short loops, and with practice they pay off in games more than pallets imo

Record, but I prefer a month or so. People did for Legion, but Legion has been demolished.:/
Yeah, they went a bit overboard with Legion. But, in my opinion this Legion is 10x better for the games health.
-
I got a guy in basement today and spammed the basement with snares. It's so much fun lol. I only did it because he burned a Haddonfield offering and brought BL, so I targeted him and made sure he died. But I might try a basement build like this because it sounds even more fun
-
Nerf him? Why? He has good counter play, and is completely beatable. I don't see the problem with having a strong but balanced killer.
-
@gantes said:
Wraith just needs to be faster baseline when cloaked. He's fine and his design is awesome.
I feel like built in Green Windstorm would make him a very solid killer at base.
-
I like it
-
From what I've noticed, snares have been pretty effective. Watching good killers utilize them properly taught me how to do the same, and I've found them extremely useful. I find the pallets to be much worse, because good survivors will keep track of the pallets they see and use. Snares are hard to avoid in the right spots, and when they do avoid them, they lose distance because they had to take a wider path to avoid them.
-
Ah yes, let me just play with my friends and not be able to talk with them. What a fun time.

Yes, however, if they were to enable cross-play you would probably see more operation health type stuff appear on consoles to balance it out. However, the dexterity ability between a mouse and controller are far different.
If they did, I would be all for it. But in this state, it would need a lot of changing for cross play to happen.

I vote for cross play between PS4 and Xbox only. The advantage that PC players would have due to controller sensitivity and frame rate issues on console would not be fair for console players. If these issues are resolved, then the more the merrier.

Or quit being a crybaby, learn how to adapt, and nut up. I only play on ps4. The supposed disadvantage would go to me, yet I'm 110% for it. How would you know anyway? There's no proof or actual way of knowing PC users would destroy console users unless they play each other. This guy here....
There is proof. The fact that console is extremely limited in movement. Simple turns take too long to make as killer, and simple mind games that PC killers use can't be used on console. I'm a console killer and I already know that it would ruin my entire experience. The frames aren't nearly as good, and the sensitivity is a massive disadvantage. Lobbies aren't bad at all on PS4 anyway. On a normal day it takes at most 2 minutes to get into a lobby. I'm fine with XBox and PS4 cross play, but PC vs Console is just too big of a difference, and would push many console players out of the game.
Stop telling people to adapt to things that will ruin their experiences with the game.

So it will force you to get better. Nothing is impossible. I'd rather have to deal with OP PC players, then waiting 30 mins just to get a lobby. That makes me want to just play another game having to wait that long per match. Cross-play would eliminate that for everyone and the enjoyment of just getting quicker matches would outweigh the group of OP PC players.
Just get better when your sensitivity is inferior 4head

I've read a lot of senseless things on this message board, but this one takes the cake.
If you have skill with this killer, you can be broken OP, negating the skill of equally skillfull survivors! Wow.
Don't even try, you'll never get it through their heads. Anything that's broken on the survivor side will quickly be pointed out by them but they're extremely protective of their broken killer.
