You would of hated the old Mori's that allowed it on the first down then.
I was in the camp that DS should of been reworked to prevent Mori's once, but nobody seemed to like the idea.
An anti-mori perk is intriguing. Probably more useful than a lot of other survivor perks.
-
I really don't want to make calm spirit mandatory on my build whenever I play Kate.
-
Some killers are simply out to destroy any fun a survivor has, just like some survivors are out to destroy killer's fun. Did you know there are many killers that will go out of their way to be toxic to anyone with a ttv in their name?
The difference is a killer gets to dodge lobbies.
-
Seems there would be statistics how many die due to EGC now and could even match to which killers were used. It's probably pretty low survival rate. Once a killer sees an exit switch light come on it is usually all over. Takes too long to get to the other gate without being seen.
-
There's the teabag as well, used for greetings, thank yous, and hurry the hell up and heal me already. Teabags are not just about killers.

What's the time with level 3 wake up?
Tier 3 you open exit 15% faster so shaves off about 3 seconds. The aura read is arguably more valuable than that. Gets to be slightly more valuable if killer uses remember me.
In my opinion if the killer has not found you near a gate, open the gate for 3-4 seconds before the first light comes on, hide, wait for killer to check your door then finish it. You just saved yourself a perk slot for something more useful.
-
It's good at getting you tunneled by the killer.

Would you rather be trapped hiding for 30 mins OR die with ZERO chance to escape?
Endgame prevents that. You have a slim chance, if you have failed your objective thus far, to escape. It's not a GOOD chance, but it is far better that the alternatives, and rather generous if work isnt done.
Apparently there was a minority of people who would wait 30+ minutes, now everyone gets to suffer because of it.
-
You basically don't. If you don't know where the hatch was you can wait by an exit and hope they don't check it first after they close the hatch. You could also just open the gate for 4 seconds, before the first light comes on, hide, wait for them to check, and then try to finish the open, but it's down to luck if the gates are close together or if you can find the hatch first. If you know where the hatch is before egc beings, chances are the killer does too. I think if you stand directly on the hatch, the killer cannot close it, like when they stand on the hatch you cannot use it to exit.
-
Been playing all day as Ash (I don't play Ash and have no perks on him) and can't get a single win, just need my Daily to escape with Ash.
Yeah. Some people just don't get that everyone has their limits before they snap.
-
Don't know why you are complaining about an easy 3 gen strat every game.

Sweat and blood.
And long hours - there are a lot of streamers who are very good at the game playing this for a living who are not rank 1 survivor.
-
Why there should be incentive or a bonus for playing against things like mori and keys, even insta heals. Really killers have the luxury of dodging items or specific survivors (or swf) they know are good, survivors go in blind.
It's just good business.

Wait wha? I've seen people use a key while in dying state.
I've never seen this.

Better than the 1 or 2 times an hour or more I used to have. Seems better for me since they implemented the trial cancels if less than 5 players feature. I might have had 1 or 2 crashes in a week at most since they implemented it.
But this game has not decided if it wants to be serious or not yet <shrug>.
-
The plague just screws over benevolence emblems as well. No one heals or gets healed. Maybe if they gave decent bloodpoints and advancement toward emblems instead of just using the stick all the time, survivors would cleanse more. I think you get like a whopping +100 bloodpoints for using a fountain and that's it.
-
Possibly, since it is usually an ebony mori, it means survivors are looking at much lower bloodpoints along with a much lower chance at emblems because of it = waste of time to play. Sort of like keys, though keys usually require a significant amount of survivor deaths before they become useful, while the mori overall halves benevolence opportunities (basically halves most everything for the survivor mori'ed as well) and the points that go with it.
If that is what they are playing for that is. Just a theory.
-
Usually pure luck to rank up in red. They like making killers that destroy your emblems (legion, plague, clown, spirit) for various reasons, usually by giving you squat for evader while knocking down your unbroken - which means you are aren't working toward lightbringer and benevolence (you likely become a source of benevolence instead).
Then if you get lucky combination of events to gather enough points to pip, you're likely to run into a string of games where either bad luck, bad killers, bad survivors will decimate any pip gains you made or leave you even worse off.
I would really like to know how many Rank 1 survivors exist right now and how many Rank 1 killers.
The guy who said play with a sweaty SWF to make Rank 1 is right. Some killer mains like to come in an say survivor red rank piping is easy solo, I will call bs on them every time. Most all killer mains doing survivor I've played with usually suck, they are first to go down and first to DC that is if they aren't farming you off the hook.

Funny enough the official stats disagree with this. The higher you go up in rank the higher the survival rate.
Likely because of SWF. They have a better chance to rank up and escape over a pack of randos. You might roll a group of veteran solos that do well, but usually not.
-
I always imagine the killer getting dragged to the basement by the Entity, tied to the hook post, and lashed mercilessly by Entity tendrils.
I um, sometimes have a vivid imagination...
-
The perk does increase your vault speed by up to 15%, so if you vault faster than your average killer, it is probably really noticeable on Legion. You mean this just started happening for you?

@darktrix not true because I dc'd to try it out and I still lost two pips
You have to...well I don't know if it's my place to say, but you have to do something else really easy, so easy like restarting your game easy, or something. I've reported it in bugs before, at this point I think it's just a feature. I also play PC if that makes a difference.
-
Yes, according to killers it is your fault for playing solo. Find a good SWF.
-
Ironic since how it works now, disconnecting prevents you from losing pips/rank.

There is this lovely perk called Wake Up that opens gates faster if you commit to opening the gate and getting the hell out.
Tried that also. The exit gate auras are more useful than the mere 3 seconds it saves (if the killer doesn't use remember me). So I think the light still comes on with the same amount of time for the killer to react.
It helps if you go for the 'wait by a gate until the killer closes the hatch and hope he doesn't check your gate first' strategy. Lot of times due to bbq/chili you cannot just position yourself at a gate without exposing your location giving the killer another edge in that race cause they know which gate you are near.
-
Taking a break. I might come back near rank reset to try for those last 3 red pips, but maybe not. It's just aggravating solo and I am getting pretty involved in other games, so I am thankfully caring less about this one.
-
@Huntar said:
Pop the first light, stealth to the other gate, open it without any resistance. If you can't do this regularly, you should practice stealth a bit since this should be a standard part of a survivor's skill set.
I've tried that. You might have a chance if you are a blendette with urban evasion, but you just can't make the other gate fast enough. After they are done searching the area, you might have just made it to the other gate using stealth by which time the killer has already resumed checking the other gate for lights from a distance. If the killer sees you or your scratch marks it is all over. They don't even need to catch you, just chase until timer ends.

Truth.

The Killer assumes the power role. They SHOULD be in charge.
Problem is there are a lot of people playing who should never be in charge. Killers get to dodge specific players and survivor loadouts, while survivors might be going up against that Leatherface who basement camps the first hook for the 4th match in a row and de-pips everyone, but survivors are expected to suck it up. That's not reasonable in any case.

"Solo queuing as a survivor is damn near suicide"
If you really think this, then this is a L2P issue. I play both sides at rank 1 as strictly solo and solo survivor is still ridiculously easy. The only games I don't pip as survivor is because we had DC's.
The game has been getting better but killer is still the weaker role by far.
That's a lie. I've played with you as survivor before where you were the only one killed (and caught for that matter). No DCs in the match, it was highly unlikely you pipped or even safety pipped.
-
You can take it for completion sake or on the off chance that someday they will rework it... I guess.
-
I play solo, I am already at max miserable.
-
With EGC out my only failure in this game is playing solo with randoms.
-
Yeah, you could do well all game and then watch your Unbroken emblem go up in flames thanks to EGC.

Here is the question though, does calm spirit prevent iron made from preventing Head-On? Because it stops the scream, but does it keep them from hard stopping in front of the locker when they gain the exposed condition.
Never had opportunity to test that case, but I run calm spirit and the one time I came out of a locker with iron maiden in effect I did not scream or notice any animation/movement stall. The only reason I knew iron maiden was in effect is that I noticed I was exposed.
-
I'd go for more historical - Jack the Ripper.
Identity unknown, he mysteriously disappeared after the murders.
A Victorian style map with it would be awesome.
-
I'm not saying kill the lights entirely, but the way they work now is at 25% completion the first light comes on, then one at 50% and last one at 75%. After the first light comes on the killer has 15 seconds to make the gate. Usually more than enough time from the center of most maps. Standard 115 killer can cover 69 meters in that time just walking, several killers can cover that distance or be a threat in far less than 15 seconds.
I don't feel first light should come on until 50%.
-
Calm spirit prevents the scream.

Well you don't need to survive to rank up. I play for myself as a solo and aid my team when its beneficial to my progress. There's little point in being the team savior if its bringing higher risk on you with no guarantee the favor will be returned.
You don't need to survive, but it helps. Getting downed even once is gold Unbroken, getting killed is only silver. That is if you lasted long enough (I want to say nine minutes+). Why it sucks to go against killers who don't give you any good evader points in return, like huntress (often throwing hatchets at you out of chase), Billy (ends chases quickly with insta saw), and Legion (gets first hits fast and then just ends chase to hit others).
-
They really should review the criteria for all emblems, killer and survivor. Survivor emblems just work against each other in addition to working against the killer's. By pursuing one you are risking or neglecting the others.
Devout should be a bit looser or allow more options to getting it. Unbroken is just harsh, if you get downed just once, not even hooked, you lose emblem.
For a party game they sure want you to go cutthroat all the time.

Well we know they are getting much stricter once dedicated servers come so it seems we're just kind of SoL until then unfortunately.
Ah dedicated servers will solve so many problems, and introduce so many more.

This is the problem some killers don't know when to give up on certain survivors during a chase. This results in them camping that survivor for playing well and putting up a good chase.
They also get thirsty for those bbq/chili stacks.
-
Not sure, maybe it's another of those latency issues that will magically fix itself when dedicated servers are available. The killer enjoys an advantage in being host right now, so if they press the hook key immediately on pickup, that probably beats the DS.
-
If there is one survivor and they just got off the hook I would probably just 99, problem is leaving a gen like that will get it kicked if the killer happens upon it and then when you come back it regressed to near nothing.
If there is one survivor with RBT and they've been off the hook for a couple minutes, I would complete the gens.
If there is more than 2+ survivors with inactive RBT, I would definitely just 99 them until one got theirs off.
If your trap is not active or you are confident you can make the boxes easy enough, always take the heal. If it is active it is their call if they want the heal or not. If it is fast like a we'll make it, they should take it.

There are a ton of things that seem useless at first because people are afraid to step outside of their comfort zones.
Sure, but in this case...it was indeed useless. Even before EGC it had a very rare niche. 1) You being the last alive and 2) maybe either having to do a gen or two for the hatch to spawn or try to complete the last gens to power the gates. Remember the perk was buffed significantly with the EGC update...it was even worse before. Usually it is invitation to death to work on gens when last alive. It's even hard with just two people unless one happens to be a looping god. The killer just has to have an idea where you are and you are done. Patrolling gens is how killers found survivors at the game start to begin with, but this time there is no one else to do the gens while you get chased.
I ran it several times, it usually never even came into play. Like playing with just three perk slots.
-
I have a huge collection of killer disconnect screenshots I just keep for warm feelings. But the fact there are five PEOPLE playing and that the ratio between sides is 4:1 it is more frequent for survivor to DC because, well, it is 4 times more likely than killer.
Killer's usually DC if they see a map they don't like or more toward the end of a match when they see they aren't going to get many, if any, kills. I've had killers frequently disconnect soon as their Ruin hex was destroyed. A survivor doing poorly usually DCs at the beginning of a match because they get caught/camped/tunneled before they had a chance to do anything. This can snowball into other survivors DCing cause now they have lowered chances to make saves/heals or even survive the match. With a single DC the value of completing the match goes down in both blood points and emblems. Least killers get credit for it counting as a kill, survivors get nothing.
-
This matchmaking just feels odd. I keep getting the same killer all the time and I know there are many more red rank killers on than just one. I even wait several minutes to get out of sync, same killer. Feels like I am being stalked.
-
Killer is likely to ignore you anyway unless you block him and take a hit. I've had killers walk right around me, like I was just a tree in the way, in order to keep going after someone that just got off the hook.
Generally it is not worth it to take a hit and you may inadvertently sandbag the other survivor if you mess up. Usually best to get clear of the area and let the survivor have the space to do his thing.
-
There's pretty much no good games to be had anymore. I think I may join you.

Survivors DC does make the killer depip, when you get in a match and someone does it immediately some people will get mad for the killer being a "try hard" with only 3 survivors but in reality that killer is just trying to maintain rank or at least safety because they've already been screwed out of thousands of points from the get go
I don't know what killers you go against but with a DC they often tunnel or prevent saves, so they do not care about maintaining rank. All they care about is the kills.
