If you're that frustrated playing killer, either play Survivor to give yourself a refresh from the killer type of bad experiences or just take a break from dbd in general, for a week or three, to relax your mind from it. Maybe come back with a fresh perspective on things. I don't use meta builds on my killers or survivors and I have really fun matches. I also have very boring matches where the killer camps/tunnels, or the survivors I vs are hell bent on soley doing gens and being immersed in bushes etc. But I absoultely love this game; i've had my fair share of burntout moments, and I did the very things I suggested to you and it really helped me refresh and enjoy the game again.
Just take a break and play Civ. Okay.

So I guess Coal Tower is a lie, Shelter Woods simply doesn't exist, Wreckers Yard? Whats that? The Chapel? Oh I guess that never happened and the list goes on, these are just the ones I can think out of the top of my head
Also if you can't get a down on Hawkins after a bit, that's not the game bud, sorry to break it to ya.
Yes there are more survivor favored maps than killer ones. But don't act like killers don't have their fair share of maps that are strong for them
You can't tell me one map that every killer is good on. Maybe there's some that favor a specific killer or build, but none of that even matters if the survivors are efficient enough.

"Solo players can do this as well if they have enough hours and don't do stupid things."
That is a very big if. Very rarely will you find a group of solos that actually do well as a team. Also, just because survivors are playing in a swf, and have comms, doesn't mean they're ultra sweats. You'd have to be playing against the top % of players, and that almost never happens. Maybe one out of every hundred games, you run into an actual sweat squad.
That statistic is way too low. More SWF than not are good at the game. And even if they're not, the coordination you can achieve with SWF makes up for the less overall skill, compared to just a bunch of good solos. Solos can do good in chase and be efficient on gens, but they can't know each other's perks, and it's very unlikely that you'll get more than 2 good solos in a single match. I've seen so many SWF that made mistake after mistake in chase, and pushed gens risky and injured, but it didn't matter because they could coordinate a multi-man Adrenaline play, or force the killer to chase the guy with DS so he gets stunned even though he just hooked someone else.
-
If you're listening to music you're robbing yourself of a crucial game element: sound. Yes, the sounds are screwed up but don't take people's advice literally when they say "You might as well play music since you can't hear survivors anyway." That would be an exaggeration. Even with the loud chase music and screwed up survivor sounds, I can still somewhat hear the survivors. If you want to listen to music and win with killer, you have to go to yellow ranks or something.
-
Okay, let me get these straight.
They didn't get rid of broken loops, yes. In fact they reintroduced with the terribly implemented breakable wall mechanic.
If you think these maps look worse now than they did before, you need an eye check-up.
Blight sliding is a completely separate issue worthy of its own discussion, and it's not the fault of the new maps.
-
Urban Evasion is niche, and it and Spine Chill are mistakenly called noob perks that are "bad". Urban Evasion is good against Hag, and also killers like Nurse or Spirit you have to stealth against sometimes. Spine Chill gives so much information on top of not letting killers sneak up on you. The other perks you're running are meta or close to meta. So I don't know what that guy's problem was.

STBFL, Sloppy, Agitation, Pop.

Seriously? Because 1v3 isn’t the game being broken? 3% isn’t that much.
Because then the survivors could exploit it. If someone is dead on hook, they can just DC and give their remaining teammates free additional gen speed, and boom the 3-gen gets overcome. There's a reason Prove Thyself and stacking on gens has been nerfed.
-
P3 Trapper.
-
Blight or Trickster.
-
STBFL is really good on him. You'll have to hit the obsession eventually but you can opt to hit them just once by breaking the chain on them the first time to injure, the hitting them normally. This loses you 2 stacks of STBFL instead of 4. Never use PWYF on him since the shot loses you a stack and the hit loses you another. You could try using Corrupt Intervention, Sloppy, Surge, etc. You can play a bit of hit and run with him, since his deep wound hits can waste a lot of survivors time. You don't always have to go for his shots, you can zone out survivors by baiting that you're gonna shoot. If they stop falling for the bait though and stop dodging your shots, then you can start shooting them again.
-
I started watching content creators who played at the highest level. It's a good idea to watch them and learn, especially if they play survivor as well. Playing both sides gives you the biggest insights into how the game plays out. As killer, you know which way you want a survivor to run a TL or shack, so as survivor you want to run the other way. Things like that.
Don't rely on NOED. I used it until I got to red ranks, which was a mistake because I was using it more than skill, at least initially, to get my wins. But I got to red ranks which even NOED can't carry you to; you need more skill than anything to reach red ranks. So one day I realized that NOED was unreliable and hurt more than it helped, so I took it off.
At minimum, you want 1 gen defence perk in your build and 1 information perk. Hexes like Ruin are not always reliable so you could run Ruin and also Pop for backup.
Play most if not all killers, because something you learn from 1 can lead to you learning a thing about another. For example TL's are typically weaker against 115% killers, but usually the ability of the 110% killers allows them to get survivors at TL's, assuming they don't just chase normally. You don't really want to chase with Hag for example.
You have to understand the difference between god pallets and unsafe pallets. God pallets need to be broken immediately, unlike unsafe ones which you can just walk around especially with bloodlust.
If an area has too many strong loops that the survivor knows how to run, especially if there's no gen to defend in that area, leave it. Know when to drop chase and have split pressure. Wraith is the best hit and run playstyle killer, and I'd practice doing it with him to get used to that playstyle.
You can complain about what perks the survivors had because you can see them post-game, but you should simply start assuming that survivors in any match will probably have meta perks on. Wait out Dead Hard, when you can I mean. Wait out BT if a survivor wants you to hit them through it. If a survivor acts cocky or jumps in a locker after just getting off hook, he might have DS.
Try to set up a 3-gen, or at least don't let the survivors split the map.
If you take these tips and more, and endure this game's uphill battle for killer, you can get to rank 1. Once you can maintain rank 1, you're good at the game and can start using fun builds as opposed to sweat builds all the time.
-
If you get used to it, you can completely ignore the camera flick. I see survivors all the time be seemingly unaffected by it and keep running like normal.

- I've noticed that killers who shouldn't belong to red ranks by their quality of play are winning easily when i play solo/duo queue cause the other team mates are just giving him free stuff: free hooks, free downs, free trades.
Which is the core problem of the game. The killer relies on the survivor's mistakes instead of being able to shine on his own. And when a killer can shine on his own because of some power, like Nurse, Blight, Spirit, etc people come crying asking for a nerf. A good team of survivors vs a killer will always have the survivors win. Specially because of mechanics like the hatch or keys that give survivors a win based on luck rather than skill, a thing killers don't have on their side.
It's why everyone thinks Trapper is trash yet if you play him at red rank over 80% of your matches will end with an easy 4k. You rely on the survivors not paying attention and refusing to do another objective (disarming your traps) rather than being able to get the 4k on your own.
Trapper's win rate is not that high or that easy, but I agree with everything else.
-
If all else fails, use 4 gen regression perks.
-
I like playing killer more, but I do play both sides equally I'd say.
I'm always a good sport as survivor, never tbagging or flashlight clicking, at least not at the killer. As killer, if you annoy me or are toxic, I'm gonna shake my head or hit you on hook. Occasionally I'll give hatch, like if I'm already rank 1 and don't need to pip.
I get all my characters to lvl 50, then find all the perks I like to play with for them, then use up almost all of their add-ons and offerings, then prestige them. Once they're P3, then I try to get all the perks on them. I've only P3'd Trapper so far.
I do get tilted in this game, less so on survivor. It's just the matches where I do 5 gens worth of chase and my team does like 2 gens that I get mad. As killer, I'm tilted a lot, more than is necessary. And that's because you never really know if you're winning as killer. I've gone against great teams who did all the gens like they were nothing, and I've gone against terrible teams who somehow almost did all the gens. So in those easier matches, I have almost the same level of stress as the sweaty ones because I never know if things are gonna go sideways or if the survivors will suddenly turn their brains on and become efficient.
I've only bought cosmetics with shards, and only for killer. I didn't get the first rift or 2 done, so I'm going back and buying the killer rift costumes they put in the store so I can get those. After that, I'll start using shards to buy killer cosmetics that I think look cool.
-
For me it's always chasing the survivors and failing.

If you're good with Huntress you'll do fine with Trickster. You just need to hit the survivors 8 times instead of once for a health state. Blight is more technical but he's really strong once you get used to him.

Absolutely not. We're only talking about point benefits here. Your idea would break the game.

The most infuriating thing is not being able to hit the survivors when you pounce over a pallet or window at them. It just doesn't work anymore.

Lol.
Maybe you should change your playing style.
Like never camp or troll the same Survivor.
Rotate around
At least give the survivors a feeling of winning even when you know you can slay them.
Its playing with your food before you eat it.
I shouldn't have to pander to the survivors, because I'm the killer. Most matches there isn't any time for you to just play around as killer and make the survivors pretend they can win. If you're saying that then you probably think that all killers are somehow able to be that dominating and care-free in every match, which they're not. And some of these survivors will DC for anything, even just playing against a certain killer or perk. Your philosophy makes no sense.

You only need 10 hooks for an adept.
If one survivors DCs then you still have a chance.
If two DC, then just try again next match. Adepts aren't meant to be something you get in one match.
Especially since survivors decide if you get them, and can take them away with the press of a button.
-
You might need to elaborate more. I'm lost.
-
Twins is probably the easiest to learn even though you have micro manage. I'm saving up my shards for the upcoming RE chapter though.
-
I was getting chased up to the camera room of The Game by a Leatherface. I vaulted the window and just stayed at the bottom when I landed. He vaulted, fell over me and went down the hole to the bathroom assuming I'd gone down there. That's a knee slapper.

Until the objective power of SWF is addressed either via a nerf (somehow) or by buffing Solo Q, we shouldn't adjust anymore Killers.
Every rework either solidifies SWF'S state in the game or makes the Solo experience more miserable.
No new Killer reworks should be done until we make Solo = SWF.
Once they are on an even playing field, we can talk about more reworks.
Devil's advocate for not nerfing Nurse. "We can't do this thing yet until we do this thing." And then y'all wonder why the impactful updates have come in so slow over the years.

Then change that. Make an escape a guaranteed black pip.

Usually that is because you allow an angle to appear. If there's a doorway/window near the wall, DON'T PICK UP THERE. That creates an angle. If you've been blinded facing a wall in another situation, it was either Monitor, Shadowborn, or possibly something having to do with a hole in the wall. Sometimes you can blind through them.
But more of my face is covered by the wall than is exposed. It seems like survivors don't even have to aim the flashlight. Just point it at the killer's head even from a bad angle and you get the blind.

Because you did nothing to earn 3 hooks? That's the maximum sacrifice you can get from one survivor. Why should the default be the highest score?
You should get as many BP as you would had that survivor been hooked once and then died on that first hook, because that's what would have happened had they not DCd. If they didn't DC, they would have used up their chances and then failed the skill checks.
With your idea killers will still get robbed of adepts by a survivor pressing leave match.

Well needed nerf for his add-ons, but they could have made them better than they did
Add-ons that make survivors louder are joke add-ons to me. That's the whole reason Stridor is in the game.
-
It shouldn't be all around because then they can hit survivors behind them, but the hitbox should be better since 360ing is stupidly effective on anyone not using a mouse. Even with a mouse actually, because it's hard to even see the survivors when they get so close to you. An fov increase would also help against 360s.
-
@NomiNomad said:
Other than his buffed lunge, (which can definitely be toned down a bit, back to what it was before) he is basically the same killer, just not so add-on dependent. He's definitely better, but I don't get how people can't understand he's... just the same. Any Wraith worth their salt was going to be running Windstorm anyways, and his current speed isn't even the fastest he could go with old Windstorm.
His invisibility buff literally only helps him on open maps from afar. As soon as he's within 20 meters you can see (and hear) him.
I think people just hate the fact that he can finally use different add-ons now. Windstorm is still nice, but nowhere near his best anymore, and Swift Hunt is actually just bad. It shaves off less than a second. His real issue is All Seeing - Blood imo, that's an incredibly powerful add-on. Coxcombed combined with Ghost can be an issue, and Bone should be rarer.
I think his All Seeing Blood and his pink gen aura add-on should swap rarities.
-
Even after his buffs, I hardly ever see Wraith. He's in a good spot I think.

@Jasix said:
Will survivors get 25% more bloodpoints and emblem progress automatically for actions they do then after a DC?
I mean shouldn't they get that bonus after the DC since they are now having to do 25% more work on gens/rescues/etc?
I'm 100% completely ok with your suggestion IF it also applies to survivor BP for gens/totems/unhooks/heals/chases - since everything becomes more difficult for them when someone DCs. That increased difficulty should result in increased BP by 25% for EACH DC.
I mean fair is fair - if the killer job becomes easier and they get the BP for all hook states (and credit in emblem) - then conversely survivors should get a bonus as well.
Sure. I'd rather have both sides getting bonuses than one side not getting it just because the other "shouldn't" get it.
-
I do recommend watching streamers and content creators, but you have to actually think about what they're thinking sometimes. They don't just loop a tile and that's it. They react to the killer's they're looping. If the killer is unpredictable, they have to change up their routing. If you have some distance between you and the killer when you get to a loop, you can loop it optimally and probably not get hit, but if they're right behind you when you get to a loop you're either gonna have to drop the pallet early or be greedy and get hit there. Just one example of many.
-
It hardly does anything.
-
I would rework Nurse to have any power other than blinks, probably keeping a teleportation aspect. Freddy, Demogorgon, and Twins emulate the teleport effect pretty good.
-
Maybe they could have 1 chapter that's a map and a survivor, then another chapter that's a map and a killer. That's what I thought when I first saw the title.
-
Obviously survivor sided because survivors almost always have chill games and killers almost never have chill games. If you think I'm wrong, stop playing your meta perk Spirit and start playing meta perk survivor.
-
That's because now the pallets are back to their ridiculous selves with their huge stun boxes. Survivors love it.
-
Flashlights are just busted and inconsistent.
-
@CoalTower said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/250690/how-do-i-get-blinded-from-behind
The blind angle is wider than the killers fov. Face a wall to avoid getting flashlight saved. They can't blind you if you face walls while picking up.
Wrong. They can blind you when you're looking at a wall, because the OP and I have experienced it.

No, not really... I’ve played on both kb+m and controller and the buttons aren’t the difference, the precision of mouse is what gives PC players an advantage. Pressing a button really isn’t any different than pressing a key.
Well the mouse then. It's far superior to a joystick.
