Low key, would love for the devs to go wild and just let this happen for a week and see what happens.
After the week they could give us the dodge numbers and see if it is a bad as we thought it would be be.
They don't need to. A few years ago they messed up their first take at encrypting temporary game data on the client side and people managed to read out those text files (simple using editor, and yes this was at PC exclusive times) and could see the killer that is used in the lobby close to real time.
This lead to an increase of flashlights against wraith/hag, calm spirit against doc, saboteur/toolboxes against trapper and so on. Not to mention the dodge rates against unloved killer.
Some people even programmed a little software mod to make this data easier accessible. And it took the devs several tries until people weren't able anymore to crack the encryption which only goes to show to which lengths people are willing to go for an advantage.
So the devs have already seen what happens when survivor have the option to see the used killer beforehand. (Also a reason why lobby locked killer created such a big outrage in the beginning)

Yep, this is what Killers do.
My favorite was a Killer (streamer) with over 10k hours, who dodged me because I have 6k hours.
@Topic:
Nobody really ever said that Survivors should be able to see the Killer. However, Killers also should get less information. Items are fine. Names or Profiles should be hidden.

Why? Because some don’t like it?
I’ll complain about it, when the game allows us to see who the killer is we’re facing, so we can properly prepare too.
@Firellius and @meatisadelicacy you two even commented in this thread but either forgot or didn't read the complete thread like most people.

Yes, I am a survivor main. How much more help do killers need?
Okay now let me ask you something, which was your highest rank on killer ever? And please don't tell me red ranks which I wouldn't believe after finding you admitting to not playing hardly any killer in this thread:
@Dwigtht said:
Many killers have some additional items in the game which are interactable by survivors. Plague has fountains, Nemesis -- zombies, Demogorgon -- portals, Pinhead -- the box.
Billy has none.
I would suggest gasoline canisters which (gasoline or canister? ) can be spoiled by survivors. "Out of Gas" mechanic would complement the overheat mechanic.
Btw one of the only times i didn't see you posting hard anti killer stuff.
And if your answer is never higher than greens, then I would advice you to play at least up to purple ranks to see how hard it can be to not tryhard as killer and still trying to have any fun in this game, given how also survivor CAN behave.
-
The game is simply too old and the gameplay doesnt emphasize on the horror aspect.
It doesn't have the atmosphere of a resident evil 7, outlast or dead space, but those would also become not scary on the third or fourth play through.
And to the point of killer strength in that respect, the game would loose tons of player when the killer would have the respective strength of the father from resident evil 7 or the real nemesis from part 3, where pur running for their life without the build in safety lines would make the game insufferable and even impossible.
-
Up to this point since release and only cosmetics? Nothing.
I havent started playing survivor given that none in my circle of friends even plays this game and I don't see much sense in having cosmetics for killer since I myself don't get much out of it in first Person with exception for the weapon and during mori/endgame screen "yay" 😑

The map isn't decided until just before you load in.
Also killer is still locked in lobby and this would only lead to either killer or survivor constantly dodging lobbies and we are back to the first two weeks of this game were friends dodged to find each other.

Scott Jund pointed out that the Devs will never base their balance at the top as they won't care as 90% of their target audience is not there. He even showed Mclean(When he was a dev) stating that it's cool that there are people who are interested in the competitive aspect of DBD but ultimately they don't want to focus on that aspect.
It isn't about getting into an eSports competitive scene but to see how far something can be broken when used to its utmost potential. And this is most often represented by top players because they have the most experience with those games.
And just like i said anyone can mimic those tactics to use stuff most efficient.
-
But at the same time high ranking mmr on all games is the same and is an excellent point to look for balancing things because those "pro" player know how to use everything to the maximum potential.
So when the devs of those games use the top to balance and nerf stuff to make more things viable at that level then it gets more accessible for everyone below without the lower ranks becoming dependent on over performing things. Like many survivor runs second chance perks and many killer run gen slowdown.
Also an argument why balancing from the top is that everybody can and "will" ultimately reach that level with enough dedication.

it became tunneling the moment you didn't drop her again.
Going back when someone gets unhooked isn't tunneling. Hitting them cause you cannot assess if they're trying to take a bt hit or just got unfortunate with the direction pick isn't tunneling. picking them up for ds isn't tunneling.
But the moment you say 'okay, they didn't have bt, they didn't have ds or missed it, let's hook them again' that is tunneling. maybe swap stbfl for whispers or play more survivors to learn where to hide.
Wait how is whispers supposed to help in this situation when the rescued is also do wed next to the killer? It goes off even on hooked survivor and therefore useless to find survivor hiding close by.
Or you are saying the killer should search the other side of the map depsite the two guaranteed survivor in close vicinity.

the way it reads she went down on the first smack.
and if there was bt: that's what BT is for. if there was bt and op hit again, that's tunneling then.
only thing this thread proves is that some people are mortally scared of not achieving a curbstomp victory in a videogame.
Bt is there to protect the rescued in tricky situations, for example in the basement and not covering for the rescuer. They can already take a hit and if they are already injured they can bait the killer away from the rescued.
When the rescued decides to take the hit and bring themselves into the same vulnerable state than the make the decision to make themselves fair game again instead of going for a trade and look for safety.
This is an active decision process and they have to live with the accompanying potential consequences. Also the covered rescuer could then again try to take aggro again to help the rescued from being hooked again.
For the killer both targets have the same legitimacy when they both are injured and when the survivor with the BT effect decides to Bodyblock while the other hides than the killer will obviously go for the visible target instead of going for an ambiguous search again.
Expecting anything different is the same as expecting the survivor to all search a chest before going on generators to not make it too hard for the killer.

""It feels fair for the survivor"? That's a great argument, now killer get frustrated at pallets most of the time, grabs and I even had a locker pull reverted on me when they jumped in right in front of me. Now make it a clean slate and treat windows the same and survivor made finally be happy. "
I've barely had hits be dedicated. If you have been getting dedicated it's an issue with your ping, because the server has determined that you did not get that hit. It feels unfair to you because you're used to those hits connecting and now they are not. It feels unfair to you but this is possibly the most fair netcode they can make.
Again, if it was survivor aided you would feel it. And if it remained killer sided you would continue to get complaints from survivors constantly because it would remain unfair.
Grabs are an entirely different issue that need fixing, and a fix should be coming soon. The changes in the mid-chapter were a bandaid until they can properly fix it.
"And from what I saw killer already felt it when the animation showed them the full hit and reverting that magically or did they manage to fix that? I respect pallets so i wouldn't know."
I agree this shouldn't happen but technical limitations prevent this from being an easy fix. Killers are feeling it being server sided, but survivor sided would be constantly never hitting through a pallet. You'd be stunned from miles away. You wouldn't ever get a hit unless within melee range because the survivor would always determine you were too far away. Lagswitching would return more powerful than ever.
This is, honestly, the best case scenario.
You obviously didn't read my whole post where I said that I never hit through pallets since I respect them every time to kick them for 100 points and getting them out if the trial. Nothing more annoying than a survivor managing to loop back to a dropped pallet and regretting not getting rid of it.
And I still get stunned far enough from them where I have to take 1 or 2 steps up to them thanks to their broken hitboxes.
And to the point of fixing, it is the same story like mori vs key. Killer had the grab situation also for years already and now again survivor get the fix first and killer can wait again, if the devs have the ability to fix it. Now it is just for killer in general and not me:
pallet, forget to hit through it
Grab, good luck with the latency of the server
Locker grab (even when they get right in front of you, same as grabs good luck getting half of what of what you deserve.
And again to the point of feeling it if it would be survivor aided, from what I can see (maybe falsified due to the more recent topics) that survivor complains for undeserved hits at pallets nearly died completely out. And you can't tell me that 100% of those vocal survivor gets no wonky anymore because it was always it killer with worse ping? The chance for survivor to have a worse ping is still 1:4 and that it went down to nearly non outside of people with an atrocious ping without any close cases going for the killer makes it seem strange. But i dont want to put on a tinfoil hat and even only started getting again into this topic was aven fallens wording of being deserving/undeserving of anything when it never is set in stone which side had the advantage to begin with and making this strongly condescending argument without knowing anything concrete.

Well they are a #########-up all in their own. I can or rather can't, due to Lightborn on every killer 😜, be blinded even while locking straight at a wall from the side, even without (ever) running pov widening perks.

I mean, I agree that the animation should not be shown, same as screams. However, when this happens, it is quite clear that this was not a valid hit, which is the reason why the Server denied it.
When this happens to me (Happened like 5 times since the change), I am like "Eh, whatever", because I KNOW that I did not hit, it only looked like that on my screen. So I dont really get why Killers complain about it more than Survivors complained about getting hit through Pallets in over 4 years.
First i am of the exact opposite opinion that when this animation fuckup happens then I rather think it was so close that the server had to say "oops sorry, i have to reroll that hit, sorry😅" and not a clear cut case for the survivor.
And second i don't think that the complain of either side outshone the other to be honest. We are just more susceptible to the amount with the more experience we have on these forums. Just like FNAF discussion first weren't annoying but grew bigger everytime.

Well I am nearly daily on these forums and I haven't seen such a thread since the pallet change (maybe due to the overflow of chapter discussions, sbmmr test or the stranger things spectacle) and that in the video really looks like latency, but no idea from which one of them.

Because it feels fair now for survivors. The netcode determines if it received the prompt that the killer was stunned or the survivor was hit first, and if the survivor got the stun before the hit then the hit is cancelled and the stun succeeds.
If it was survivor sided, then regardless of if the killer hit first or not to the server, if the survivor got the stun on their client before the killer hit them on their client, the hit would be cancelled.
Meaning that 360 ping survivors would be at a massive advantage. Just like 360 ping killers were at a massive advantage.
Again, if it was survivor client sided you would feel it. Killers are complaing because they've gotten used to hits through pallets, and survivors aren't because they've gotten used to being hit through pallets.
"It feels fair for the survivor"? That's a great argument, now killer get frustrated at pallets most of the time, grabs and I even had a locker pull reverted on me when they jumped in right in front of me. Now make it a clean slate and treat windows the same and survivor made finally be happy.

I mean, the OP was saying that they get robbed of Hits they would deserve. But apparently they dont deserve them, because if they would deserve them, they would not have been cancelled.
And I asked for the Ping, because a few days ago someone asked about the Pallets and they said that they have high Ping, because it happens frequently to them that their Hits get denied. So I assume it is the same for OP, he uses the same wording.
How would someone be able to tell if the deserve the hit when on their screen the animation goes off but then gets magically gets reverted? Same with survivor seeing themselves making distance and still getting hit/downed.
No matter the side they always think they got/get treated unfairly.

Survivors aren't preferred. The server is the decision maker.
Believe me, if survivors were preferred you would never get a hut through a pallet. If survivors were preferred you would feel it
Just the fact that close to all complaints about hits at pallets while making distance have stopped and only killer see their hit getting reverted tells me otherwise.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
You dont deserve those Hits, that why you are not getting them. You did not deserve them before, but the game favored the Killer at this point, so they got a lot of Hits.
What is your Ping usually?
And well, either way, you need to adapt and not expect every Lunge you hit around a Pallet to hit.
I love this condescending wording of "not deserving" no Matter if now or than. As if the ping/latency relation was/is always set in stone. In my eyes they simply flipped sides. Before killer where preferred and survivor saw themselves make more distance than they did according to the server and now survivor are preferred thanks to the changed code and killer see the bs.
Killer now get hits cancelled on pallets, grabs denied (with and without hit consolation) and yesterday I even had a survivor going into a locked right in front of me and my pulling out was also cancelled but at least I got a consolation hit while being animation locked( still only half of what i "deserved").
And before you assume my playstyle or ping, i have the best internet i can get in my country (1000mbps down, 50 up) and have laid a 15 meter cable through my apartment. Also I respect every pallet so I can kick it for the 100 points and getting it out of the game.
My biggest problem with pallets are the broken hitboxes where I get stunned and still have to walk up to it for the kick.

I just checked on steam and it seems that the license rights run out in November. From the 17th forward Hawkins will be shut down and no stranger things content will be available FOR PURCHASE anymore but still playable.
I guess the different treatment stems from the fact that people paid for the characters, their perks, cosmetics and so on while the map is just a provided bonus by behaviour and can be deleted without further legal complications.

Even mentioned it was because of the Low effort fnaf spamming and reasons why people say children only play Fnaf but of course most people here did not read it then just choose to show more hate for Fnaf.
Feel like most people just don't read anything and just comment what they think based on the Title of the discussion.
Funny that you feel like most don't read and just post. Fells to me that you didn't read my comment carefully since I admitted to not having read anything in this thread in the first line already.
And yes I normally would agree with you that way too many people don't read the full discussion and never notice that their opinion was either already represented several times or debunked by others already.
But i am simply fed up with all the FNAF discussion that come up again and again and again since half a dozen chapter ago. One side glorifies FNAF into holiness and the other damns it to hell as being childish. It is simply annoying.
And just like i was already made aware of by @Orion and others i have to refute my demand since it would only send the message to the community that the devs are pressurable to do it's bidding with only making enough of a tantrum.
Still i would love an open Stance of behaviour to this license because these threads have become so exhaustingly annoying not matter if for or against FNAF in DBD.

I always try to say thank you if the killer lets me go. I’ve told a killer that it was nice of them to give someone the hatch (the person they let go was on crossplay) because we had an early DC. (I was dead but watching.)
I hesitate to give killer’s compliments because I don’t want them to think I’m being sarcastic. I try to be specific so they can tell I’m sincere (EG: GG most fun I’ve had against a Bubba in along time).
Just as a general rule of thumb from a killer only player. When the killer has more than 20k BP and 1-2+ kills it is okay to say GG. Killer having less than 10k and 0 kills, better leave it.
But from my experience it is always the other way round.
I play for BP and max 8 hooks (still want the survivors Hook state interface so i don't make accidental sacrifice).
When I get them all to death hook and let them live i get either nothing or in obvious "being a nice killer" cases "thanks you"s, ratio 80/20 or more. But damn when they manage to stomp me that is the time I get full GGs from all four but my trial was #########. Intriguingly no real toxicity per se in Form of "GG ez" or anything since ages, maybe due to hard avoiding tunneling and camping by really going out of my way.
-
The things is there exist 20+ killer, all supposedly with their own mmr.
Plus we don't know for sure since when and how much data behaviour truly collected with all their tries and in the background.
I would simply treat any kind of new mmr as a blank slate to start with and then look again after playing for two or three months.
Also the problem can be that the system works like ranked games in online chess for example were new player start with a ranking of 1500 (the average) and then have either to climb (world pros being at 2500+ in this example) or drop to their rightful place. So the average player might get matched with complet noobs from time to time.

Or maybe, just maybe, they can use that finally as point of reference to balance around?
To balance something you need at least one fix point to work with.
Either the would have to balance around some criterium they as the devs set and then create a matchmaking with that balance or do what i said in the first paragraph and use this (maybe) working matchmaking and then create balance with that.

The game is meant to be casual and fun. I don't expect any player to sweat and stress out while playing. If I run into a Killer who has some bad luck, or against an extremely good team - goes afk as a result. I let them. I finish gens, leave, and move on to my next game. I can get my rank 1 back from a single depip if the afk killer made me lose a pip. I can do challenges in other matches.
Same with Killer if I see a survivor clearly trying to surrender, and leave the match. I kill them outright. If someone DC's no problem. If survivors gen rush, let them. I am not about to sweat and stress over a casual game. I choose to ignore the bad, and enjoy the good.
When you get used to this mindset then a lot of things that normally piss you off really just doesn't bug you anymore.
Sorry I just don't get this argument that DBD is "just casual and fun" when one sides success depends on teamwork and goes down the drain due to selfishness.
It's the same in league of legends, rainbow six siege and wimilart two sided team based online pvp games even in normal queue were a team gets screwed over by disconnects or Afk. Therefore for example lol has also a DC penalty even in normal queue and R6s allows team refills in normal and has a penalty in ranked.
Casual and fun online pvp games are free for all's with or without squads like PUBG/fall guys/Fortnite or the like. There it really does not really matter when one does DC.
Indifference and irresponsibility due to online anonymity and so on is and grows more and more rampant.
But this feeling of responsibility in team games for me might come from my age and due to that getting to know PvP games in Lan parties were i know everybody and similar to real life games like soccer, were it would mean a loss of "social standing/reputation" to repeatedly ragequit until noone wants to invite or play with you anymore. A feeling that most people today never knew and therefore don't care about anyone but themselves in online gaming.

I never said ranks tell me why i win or lose! You simply are not understanding what im saying...I said that i want to see the ranks post game so i can better understand what had just transpired in the game i just played won or lost. Once again another person telling me something i already know lol. Dont tell me how to "adapt" to a game im super good in. Its obvious that games differ trial to trial...My own shortcomings? lmao when did i ever say i was perfect? If im losing or lost a game there could be a number of reasons for that but dont make it seem like i dont take accountability for my own actions because if i happen to play bad i'll straight away admit that in my head "oh i should have played better/smarter that game" I can still look at the post game ranks and make more of an assesment, not just by looking at the killers (or survivors) perks! When i talk about analyzing i cant obviously analyze a game i didnt record...im talking about analyzation in retrospect but i admit i should have been a little more clear on this.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2426787#Comment_2426787
Another person totally getting off point and not understanding what im saying. I can lose by playing bad bc it happens. If you paid any attention at all to what i have been saying you will see that i dont care about the mixed matchmaking, i can care less honestly at this point bc matchmaking is random. My complaint is NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE RANKS POST GAME! Everything else your said afterwards holds no relevance to the discussion with the exception of the comment you made about this being about me....
So in response to that i say this...I am not the only one who does not like that ranks are not displayed. I am the only one that is saying something about it and making emphasis on it. Alot of people are "yes" people, i am not one of those people, i dont care if my opinions etc are not popular, im an independant thinker and not a follower like most people so my views, perspectives, opinions etc wont be popular and im fine with that. Other people agree with me and or dont like not seeing post game ranks either but they arent saying anything or are talking about it on other forums, sm etc.
Cool you didn't get what i was saying.
In a game with working matchmaking you, as a rank 1 are supposed to only be matched with other red ranks without exception. While we know it doesn't really work ATM, that is what the sbmmr is supposed to do and with this idea you can think of it like always being matched up with rank ones.
So your analytical needs for seeing ranks in after game would become meaningless because it should always show only red ranks or rank 1.
But since that isn't the case with the actual system,so they take the ranks out to avoid psychological issues when people still see rainbow ranks during sbmmr which is caused by unskilled red ranks and good or smurfing rainbow ranks and the sbmmr not caring for rank rather than behaviours ratings for skill. But other people told you that ranks during sbmmr are not correlated for matchmaking and therefore useless and you didn't get it so i will stop participating in this thread. No use talking to a Brick wall.
Fact is you don't get to see ranks during sbmmr and they will be back once they turn it off again. And either they they stay when sbmmr is scrapped or if sbmmr is here to stay at some point the ranks in after game will be gone for good with them becoming useless over time, so prepare yourself for that eventuality.

I don’t think they were working together to kill me since they didn’t sandbag, but they did mob in the post game chat.
To the aspect of the killer letting the other 3 leave, either no idea or the killer knew they were outmatched? Or didn't even try cause of obvious swf, worsened by similar names indicating tryhard swf?
Well to the point of after game toxicity the killer is already antagonist to survivor from the get go.
The other 3 survivor seem to show the typical problem of survivor vs killer toxicity in form of herd mentality. They are already an established group and can support/defend/cover each other in heated arguments. Couple this with the omipresent security of online anonymity and you get the recipe for potential unrestrained online toxicity at its finest.

Yes, hear one think, leatherface not enter in game for camping, noobs campers deserve permantly ban!
So your first comment I fixated that YOU are not a noob and play in higher than green (?) ranks.
So how do this noobs even down you when you are sooooo much better? If what you indicate would be the case then a true noob shouldn't even get you down much less in close vicinity to the basement.

on paper that's great but realistically it doesn't work that way unless its a SWF. 3 people with no info from each other or if the killer is camping means people go for the save. Even if all 3 are smart and see the bubba and turn around go back to their gens you're still wasting a butt ton of precious time to now try to gen rush the bubba. 60 seconds for 1 hook state 80 seconds for a gen(not including run time and not accounting killer gen based perks like ruin). If they want to add some kind of emote system for solos then sure It's 100% the survivors fault but with 3 other people who are deaf to each other it's not possible to coordinate.
I have no issue with camping itself just the fact that this tactic punishes solo's way harder than SWF.
Just to your argument, when did it come out of fashion to spam the escape button to make aerobic exercises on the hooks to signal a camping killer? This was standard back in the day and didn't need any perks from the survivor.

Leatherface, Freddy, Michael, Ghostface, Pyramid head, Nemesis, and Pig, all killers that we have seen before the year 2000 (Nemesis almost being modern but is 1 year short, 1999) (And I don't count Demo given he's really not that iconic. For Stranger things? Yes, but not in a general sense like all the others, also he's in season 1 out of 4, can't really compare him)
There are so many slashers and creatures that have come out since 2000 that BHVR haven't even touched. My Bloody Valentine, The Mist, Dog Soldiers, Slither, A Quiet Place, Hollow Man, American Psycho, Purge, etc.
And don't forget the games like Dead Space, Fear, Amnesia, Siren, Fnaf, Evil Within, Outlast, etc.
Some of these might not be iconic to you, but they ARE iconic to others.
All these deserve some position in the "Horror Hall of Fame", and yet all we've seen is ancient history.
Just to give answer on your lists:
My bloody valentine:
A normal dude in mining outfit with a pickaxe -> no real option for a standout killerpower, could maybe become a skin for trapper not really anything more.
The mist:
Only wasp- or Spider-Monster as real reference material-> flying or climbing ability which would make them really unique from the killer roster would brake the game like nurse/spirit.
Dog soldier/slither: Sorry never head or seen them.
A quiet place:
Only Demogorgon-like monsters without real uniqueness -> only stand out feature probably complete blindness with sonar power and dash?
Hollow man:
Another normal human with invisibility-> we already have wraith and spirit with that.
American psycho/purge:
No unique killer, just normal humans going nuts and murdery -> see legion and trickster
Since this is already a wall of text i hope you get my point without doing the videogames also.
What you listed is interesting from the horror franchise standpoint but the devs have also take the standing roster, their image and their powers and the limitations of the (outdated) game engine into account.

Just one question:
You play two matches and in both one or two survivor play like potatoes, one or two are decent and one is, like you, "godlike".
In game one you see the ranks green, purple, red, Red. This should be in accordance with what you expect/want to see.
Other game you see only red. What does this tell you for your "analytical" needs? Nothing, right? Experience in terms of hours might go from 100-5000.
So what is the difference from the system without ranks and game two?
From what u gather from this thread is that you only want visual conformation for yourself and nothing more.

and the worst part, i cant even blame the killer for doing it.
if you, as the killer, dont play like that and "play nice" (as ive attempted), you just get beaten badly every time.
The problem is that casual and having fun while winning are contradictory in pvp games where two sides are set against each other. Either you try to win or play casual and don't care. Even games like Fall guys or battle Royal are like that, you can try to win and get invested in trying hard or play casual and not really care.
Even in games like league of legends were there are separate queues for ranked and "casual"/normals, you can't control how any of the other players want to play.
-
Tastes are subjective and different, trickster per se is also not scary and at this point I would like it to be FNAF just so that this topic can die after coming up for over one year at every new chapter.
-
How does this logic hold up?
"Potatoes" matched with the "sweatiest tunneling killer"?
Wouldn't the latter be too high in the mmr and the potatoes would be matched against potatoes?
Since tunneling is such an easy winning strategy according to some it should lead to a high mmr, right?

Twins and blight fit dbd, but are incredibly boring characters that could have been so much more. Twins theme was originally supposed to be a mother and unborn or "taken" baby, which would be metal as hell, but they chickened out and had to scrap that for overdone siamese twins vibe instead. We even have an abomination skin for hag, using exact same theme, which ruined initial impressions for the twins even more. Not even gonna talk about powers here, but you know.
Blight's is beloved right now becouse he is just so fun to play(my current main as well). But the design is bland and atrocious on almost every level, starting from visuals(skins kinda fixed that a bit) to supposed "alchemist" power, which is "press button to 230% movespeed". His release felt like non-release, nobody was really playing him(true for twins and trickster as well), nobody was talking about him. Us growing on him half a year later is not gonna change that fact.
Trickster is fan-service, if you aren't into sexualising virtual murderers, there is nothing fun or interesting about him. Almost feels like devs are ashamed of him with how much they were pushing to talk about trickster's supposed great reception in anniversary quotes. Again, not even talking about gameplay here, but I was actually taken aback by the blandness of his power on the reveal(was same for blight, but at least blight's power is bland becouse they were tring to make it fun).
RE chapter, now that generated a ton of hype and brought a lot of people into the game. But it would do that regardless of chapter quality. Nemesis is, again, the most bland choice they could've made, his power is the most uninspired so far, and it feels so... wrong. "You just made a strong physical impact on survivor, but he didn't get injured couse.. you know, you gotta infect them with T-virus first, doesn't that make sense? Yea, that virus that turns people into zombies? It's blue goo now for some reason. And also it doesn't really affect survivors, it just let's you... physically impact them 🤣". Like it legit feels like a bad joke or an 8yo killer concept, and the worst part - there is nothing fun about it. For any side. It doesn't get any attention, nor does it deserve it. They even tried to go for "whipping" kink out of desperation, didn't seem to do any good. Funny zombie moments is all we got out of it. Yea, for me that's just shameful work. Survivors are great though. Map is literally the worst in the game, but whatever.
Of course, those are just my grumpy veteran observations, but you asked for it :) Hopefully you now understand why I have so much hope for Springtrap to bring this game back on track
Well yeah I can yee were you come from and agree with the thought of most of the characters being bland gameplay wise. But I think just from their theme and optics that the first two fall exactly in line with old killer like billy, nurse or wraith and yeah I exclude licensed killer from this kind of discussion because of the limitation set (and yes nemesis power is pathetic, his punch is at the same time feeling wrong given the reaction of the survivor to the weight it implies and cool in this aspect when they backflip after a face punch).
And yeah to the argument about trickster but i think the same will happen to Springtrap. It would be a fan service killer for that asked for it and I can't think for the life of me of an interesting killer power for them. Also behaviour would have toake Springtrap way more gory to fit into DBD than the few version i have seen of the character. I simply think bright colors like trickster or a bright yellow Springtrap don't really fit into DBD. And yes I don't like many of the "funny" (bunny, Santa, chicken and so on) cosmetics or skins but not only in DBD, but also in siege or league of legends -.-

What about Huntress and Legion? they are pretty much normal and could easily be real.
The same I told in all the "trickster fits DBD or not". They don't have a normal face, an important part to humanize something. Without that you can distance from them same as killer in for example in "your next" where they are faceless "monsters".
-
At this point I simply hope that it will be a FNAF chapter to stop all this whining pro and con FNAF. Every new chapter and teaser there comes one part of the community screaming mutiny for it to be FNAF and another against.
To the op, which uninspired killers that don't fit into DBD would you mean? Just an honest question to your opinion, since I don't think that any of the non licensed except trickster are questionable from my point of view.
(To trickster, he is too bright and colorful for me, not taking any cosmetics into consideration and is the only real humanlike not disformed and too real killer. All other are obvious products of fiction while he could be a real person.)
-
I know I shouldn't be THAT guy but probably still more worth than a killer kicking gens without the proper perks.

I love you, I felt so alone in bringing Lightborn but a lot of people underestimate how powerful the aura aspect of it is.
It's especially more useful when you kick a generator that's been affected by Blast Mine because you can avoid getting blinded and find the little sh*t that did that to you.
It's number 2 on my list of perks to get on all my killer, bbq being number one to be able to farm BP with everyone.
-
Or you have exceptionally bad connection hardware or whatever when it is not such a widely discussed topic as you say.
-
Because there is already halve a roster of subpar killer that can't keep up with experienced survivor no matter the skill of the killer player?

@NVerde said:
I don't use DS since the nerf, one of the last times I did use it, I got picked up right by the (open) exit gate and I missed the damn skill check and got killed.
I personally think DS is pointless now anyway, since anyone who uses it only has a few seconds to get away and the killer goes straight for them as soon as they've recovered. Yes it technically buys them a 'second chance' but the vast vast majority of times I've seen it used, they get hooked 10 seconds later rather than 5 seconds later anyway. To me it's a waste of a slot, eliminating the skill check would make no difference to me.
What does the nerf have to do with the effect? It works exactly the same as before and only the turn off parameters were added.
Or are you talking only about the self-healing portion? If yes, why or how would that make a difference?
Either you get chased immediately and didn't have time to heal and/or your scratch marks would've lead the killer to you before getting completely healed or you are not immediately focused again and can change locations to heal yourself in safety/find a teammate to heal you.
