I got the same responses when i told people that they act entitled back when the plague skin "drama" happened.

You are absolutely right. Paying 7, now 9, dollar each month for a freaking random cosmetic IN ONE GAME would be beyond stupid and on the other acting like a spoiled child when the free gift included in the (most probably already running) Amazon prime subscription isn't up to par.

But just for comparison, riot games (league of legends) has been giving free skins, other goodies and a few hundred riot points, the equivalent of auric cells, for the last 12+ months. The RP alone are worth roughly 2-3€ (more in the beginning) plus a free skin and multiple other cosmetic goodies.

So 400k BP really are a lazy letdown this time.

Well, fair enough, thats a more thought through answer then I expected ^^ Still rings a bit weird to bring up ones comment history, but I can see were you are comming from. Lets call this a draw for now.

Yeah exactly it's weird. But i thought by leading with the way i did was to emphasize on that point.

But like so many other times, my twisted and overcomplicated way of thinking leads to misunderstandings sometimes.

Do you know MY or ThiccBudhhas comment history? Or SuzuKR's or Schenekiller's? Not hating, but this is a pretty weird thing to flex about and you brought it up a couple of times. When you spend time on the forums, some people will remember you and the stance you have taken in the past, but I guess less then 0,5% will study someones comment history, just to get a reading on what a person they are dealing with.

Okay let's see, i don't know yours exactly but i if remember correctly, mostly both side player and not much bias. Thick is 70% funny troll posts and the rest is mostly bias free. Suzu has leaned more into the killer biased side over the last few weeks. And never heard of Schenekiller, sorry.

I mostly remember the heavy biased people because their extreme takes are the most entertaining to read.

About my "flex", it's just to show that i know how killer at the bottom of the barrel gets treated no matter how nice they play because it seems they weren't so many doing that. It changed over the course of the last year going by the many nice playstyle discussions a few weeks/months ago.

And for the whole bringing up comment history, i just lead with that since the guy i commented on made such a big deal of it.

Also i don't expect people with a small amount of postings here to make an effort to remember people without extreme opinions like the "infamous" Sluzzy or posting number monster with over 20k like Orion or goodboykaru. It take a certain amount of interaction to remember specififc people.

  • Probably it was 100 for all platforms and later got changed for some reason and Sony is the only company that's so hard/annoying/whatever to deal with in regards to game changes for achievements that it just stayed the way it was originally, maybe.

  • Didnt we have a thread with the EXACT title yesterday?

Way do people make a new one everyday instead of adding to the last one?

I am so confused, bro. I must have misread your post or something, but I am too lazy to verify it. I will say I agree with you at this point. As a face camp God, I do not care if they DC.

I AM NOT ENDORSING DISCONNECTING FROM YOUR MATCHES. I AM A STRONG, INDEPENDENT KILLER WHO FOLLOWS THE RULES. PLEASE FINISH YOUR MATCHES, DO IT FOR THE BUDDHA.

But yeah, I would totally take the free win. No doubt. All I am saiyan is that removing the DC penalty has ALWAYS been the biggest killer buff. Even Behavior could not accidentally create a more powerful change to the role. Try as they might. Killers moving at 200% speed would result in a lower kill rate than a patch with the DC penalty turned off. Facts is facts.

Oh please, if you know MY comment history (which i don't think you do) you would know that the last 2 years i played camp- and tunnel-free and friendly non killing killer and even i had a real bunch of first hit/down/hook DC or even DC just from knowing which killer i was playing or which map we were on.

Those survivor that are addressed in this thread, not the 4 slugged outliers for example, but the sensitive instant DCs as soon as the game slightly doesn't go the way they want, do it no matter how the killer plays.

Short ques mean a lot of people are playing the game. Long ques imply people leaving.

    Okay just for clarification.

The lobby ratio is 4 survivor and 1 killer.

So anything close to that give short queue times and the further we go away from that the longer.

Total amount of player would only really factor into that with less than 10000 i would think.

    So, for example

    40000:10000 players equal short queues

4000:1000 also have short queue times.

    But

    40000: 8000,

suddenly survivor have long queue and killer instant.

    On the other hand:

30000:10000 and killer have insane queue times and survivor instant.

But reality looks more like a back and forth around the golden 4:1 ratio depending on the time of day.

  • Well it killed any interest for me to come back to this game.

My only goal in trials were 4 stacks and 8 hooks with the former being more attractive.

Now it's gone and I qm here wearing the icon in silent grief.

  • Well i just saw the pub video from oth and a killer with distinct voice lines and his gameplay seems like a fresh and fun experience in DBD and I would expect people wanting to play him.

Just leaves the question when this feeling novelty drops of for the annoyance of ever repeating voice lines.

(Disclaimer: No, idea about his strength or viability. I just had to on Autoplay and saw it on the side and thought "Oh that looks fun.")

  • Probably not really manageable.

Either you have 4 people able to afflict the killer in tandem or there has to be a visible cooldown for the effect or else other survivor waste their time trying to apply an effect that is on CD.

And if there would be no CD, the effect would need to be reduced to accommodate for multiple/,non-stop application depending on the trigger.

  • ?????

Where is there anything rude in my comment? Oo

Sorry if you feel personally addressed by "you" but the English language uses the same to address directly and generally.

  • Why?

No system in the world can differentiate between your internet cutting out from your modem, ISP, a blackout or you unplugging the lan cable, deactivating your wifi adapter on your PC or shutting down your router yourself.

  • Emote spamming is a taunt in most online pvp games for the last 20 years.

Maybe some use it as communication between survivors but in general it was mostly meant as form of taunt since nearly no game has the Neo from matrix "come on" wave.

I usually do switch games once I start getting frustrated, so it's not a completely endless cycle. I can absolutely be competitive, but not to the point most people are anymore. I'm not gonna spend all my free time on a single game just so I can destroy a team of noobs. That's not satisfying at all.

Even in Apex the "casual" mode has just as many hard-core sweaty people, and that just ruins the game for me. I still play it, but getting destroyed by a bloodhound with 30,000 kills makes me wanna just stop lol.

    I feel you there.

An example from my memory were people in battlefield 3 that had several thousand hours in jets alone and where skilled and sweaty enough to never get shot down but on the other hand could kill anything from armored tanks down to single infanteries.

Not really fun, especially when server had explicit rules against those pros but no one made sure those rules where followed through.

    50+/0 kda weee

  • Not lucrative enough for them (bhvr). Could be interesting for some characters but boring for most i guess.

And even straight up impossible for a third of the characters because of licenses.

  • @Magicmaster0702 said:

I'm so tired of the sweaty killers, and the SWF. That's all I get anymore, and it's so exhausting. Even after like 10 games with 0 kills, or like 10 games where I barely do anything cause I get tunneled immediately it's the same story. I can take break after break, and I still come back to the same mess. Sorry for the rant. I'm just tired of every game, not even just dbd being filled with people so competitive.

Might i suggest switching to some Singleplayer games or pvp games with less direct interaction like auto chess games?

I did it and stopped playing most pvp games (lol,r6s, rocket league, DBD,...) for a while to get away from the stress they put me in.

It lies in the nature of online pvp games to get more and more competitive and serious over the course of their life time since casual players most often don't stick for more than a few years and it boils down further and further to the majority of players being min/maxer and hardcore veterans.

Or the game provides several game modi or queues for casual and ranked, which DBD does not and it often only partially helps to separate the casual from the serious players.

Ah, the usual "if you disagree you're stupid" response.

    Here's what I'm seeing:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/86QY6L3HQ183/image.png

The blue line is perpendicular to the approximate center of the pallet. Note that it's not exactly at the midpoint of the green line, because of the 3D perspective (closer regions of the pallet are bigger, so the center of the pallet is slightly further than the midpoint of the 2D line).

Now jump to right before where you threw the pallet, and keep the above "center pallet" landmark line in mind:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/PEM48JFGHTZF/image.png

Blue is the roughly midpoint of the pallet (I'm being generous here, I think it's actually a bit further left based on the other image) and green is about where the center of your character model is (the point between her feet).

You were on Bubba's side when you threw the pallet. The pallet is quite a bit further to the left than you think it is.

    Said:

    Screenshot_20220908-104302~2.png

The right corner of the shadow roughly marks the middle of the pallet.

    Screenshot_20220908-104245~2.png

And before dropping you clearly stand to the killer side of the pallet, only partially with just your shoulder in the shadow. And with your character even facing in the direction to the killer (btw why did you even turn around? The camera moves free from the character?)

So you were clearly less than 50% through the pallet plus facing the wrong way. There is no way for the pallet to drop in any other fashion than as shown here in these circumstances.

I don't get paid a yearly salary to figure it out. Pay me and I'll figure it out for you. But these things can be fixed.

Here is my first suggestion :

    1) Downed survivors should NOT be able to see aura of teammates. Crawl around to safe spot, wait for someone to come get you. But this aura reading is being abused by troll snitches and also Killers who want to slug and recruit survivor to help them. This helps stop the snitch problem that both Killers and Survivors are doing.

    2) Add option to disable spectating for my character. I've been victim of troll SWF's far too many times by one of them being dead, and telling the other one what to do. I have a recording of a small Twitch streamer who was in an SWF, and I was solo Q matched up with them, and I saw the vod. One of the dead survivors on our team was her friend in a Discord with her, and he was telling her where to run to sandbag me over and over. "He's behind that wall, no no, go that way" etc... and she would ask "Where is claudette!" whenever the Killer was on her.

    3) We need to remove the incentive for survivors to try and work with killers... so.... start punishing Killers who are breaking rules by playing Dungeon Master and trolling certain players, or favoring certain players over others. Killers job is to kill everyone. The end.

I mean, I'm not being paid a salary to figure this out, but it CAN be figured out. Many other games have fixed their issues.

Okay sorry i don't think and honestly not care how much your suggestions would help or work because there will always be jerks and they will always find a way to sabotage their teammates if they don't like how they game goes.

But just one point in your argumentation is hilarious for me:

We need to remove the incentive for survivors to try and work with killers... so.... start punishing Killers who are breaking rules by playing Dungeon Master and trolling certain players, or favoring certain players over others. Killers job is to kill everyone. The end.

You begin point 3 saying to do something with survivor and then straight go into punishing killers. And I get what you mean, by making killer less prone to working with survivor the latter are less inclined to risk even trying it. But the flow in the argumentation is just hilarious.

"We need party A to do X less, so let's punish party B for Y."

  • @SilentShepherd said:

No, the point of this thread is to show BHVR how absolutely crappy the Solo Queue experience is. This sort of trolling happens ALL THE TIME.

And while I'm here, I want to say a lot of SWF's are toxic. A few games ago, an SWF trolled me again and was SUPER toxic in end game chat because of course, I'm not in their SWF, I'm the Solo Q player, so their bad gameplay is always blamed on the outsider.

But what do you expect them to do against players that behave like jerks and a-holes?

Make each solo survivor strong enough to battle the killer on their own?

    Give out free DC passes?

What's the endgame here in this thread?

on survivors side, I am forced to watch the same (3rd hook) impaling & abducting animation over and over

And? If the intentional behaviour of real players doesn't face you, then i don't know what to say when you feel something watching an automatic animation.

Especially since i would expect for people to simply grow numb towards it.

Well, why do I not see you make the same post about killer being subjected to survivor taunting them to hell and back during egc sitting in the exit and your dread from getting humiliated and asking to freely DC as killer in those circumstances?

I think the time DH is active should be buffed. .7 seconds would be good imo.

that would make it less likely to just straight up not work because as it is now it can decide to not activate at all.

its still useful, but definitely weaker than it could be while still being balanced.

I think the time DH is active should be buffed. .7 seconds would be good imo.

  • Well isn't that the story with every online pvp game over the course of their life's?

In the end they all end with either new players or tryharding veterans and a little bit unhappy people in the middle.

I've seen it in lol, rocket league and r6s too. Either i get noobs, trolls or ever complaining "pros" when i dont perform up to their "standards". Btw wow too in mythics. 3 weeks after release of an addon and you sometimes get kicked from random parties when you don't know the most efficient play through for every dungeon.

DBD is only additionally plagued by nonexistent matchmaking at this point again. In my opinion one of the biggest reason for the discomfort of the players.

People don't DC if the "chance" to win is there. It is not entitlement, but fairness. Big difference.

BS. People still have all "chances" in the world when they get hit or downed in the first minute or see which killer it is and still DC if they it doesn't go their way.

I know you are intentional delusional but that's just straight up lying herefrom you.

  • @Grigerbest said:

That wouldn't work since no system can distinguish between your internet going off for 10 seconds and someone simply pulling their plug/shutting their network adapter off aka DCing penalty free.

The game would become unplayable again.

I don't know that i am rude or not but i hardly believing them. My killer queues are insanely bad, it is around 5-6 minutes. I don't know how people can find killer matches very fast.

I reinstalled the game on Tuesday just to see for myself and tried queuing for killer (survivor had 50% bonus) and it didn't even take 30 sec for me to find a lobby. (Eu, Germany to be precise, PC, with crossplay on, roughly 8:30 to 9:00 pm)

  • The same way i dealt with survivor waiting in the exit gate, waving me closer as if to give me one last hit only to dodge at the last second (pre 6.1 even dh over the exit line):

Just go afk or tab out when the inevitable is not longer avoidable. Go get a drink or take a leak.

  • I guess someone just got killed during endgame.

  • @Ghoste said:

The game has been standardized to a degree. Killers can only be so different in so many ways.

This. There are only so many ways to build fundamentally different killer powers given the framework and gameplay of the game.

For example my idea for the last 3-4 years was a spider killer with it's special being able to crawl on all surfaces coupled with the copy of the demo pounce.

The pounce is a 1 to 1 copy from demo since you can't really change something so fundamentally basic as a pounce. (Victor is nearly exactly the same).

But the wall crawling alone would break the game in way completely unknown. The killer would be able to ignore loops, dropped pallets and much of the given map geometry.

The devs would need to give it severe drawbacks like less than 100% movement speed or something at which point it would just feel sluggish and annoying to play and therefore isn't an option.

And another example with this killer idea would for example be the clowns or nurses outdoor maps (can't remember the names, i think crotus prenn or something for nurse). Just imagine a spider killer climbing on the outside of the main structure up to the top an then pounce across half the map. Quite a nice jumps are in the beginning but evidently broken once the first excitement would've died down.

There is just too much restriction given by the existing gameplay of looping around some piles of rubble and dropping pallets. We already have multiple killer with traps, projectiles, short range attacks and multiple versions of 2dimensional movement.

I dunno, "Grinding is the best of all things in this game!" seems like pretty obvious sarcasm to me. I don't know anyone who would say that grinding is their favorite thing about any game.

Oh i am one of those people.

Playing the same OVER AND OVER again without some progress is hella boring for me.

Hence i had the goal to unlock all perks until the sheer insanity of it turned me away.

Same in league of legends (there i have all characters unlocked and worked on my masteries) or rainbow six siege or battlefield 3/4.

Wjen i imagine DBD without any grind aka all characters and perks unlocked, i would without a doubt drop it after 2 weeks. The gameplay is far from entertaining enough for me to keep playing it. (The reason why i only have 300 hours in it even after playing it from release on).

She may be bad or unhealthy for solo queue but being toxic is a mentality aka only player and their playstyles can be toxic not the tools by themselves.

  • Can't we just delete nurse, give blight and any a tier killer the billy/death slinger treatment and watch this game go up in flames?

I need some fire to roast my marshmallows to snack on while watching the forums. Popcorn no longer does it for me.

  • But Killer isn't much better?

28 characters but always the same gameplay loop against always the same survivor characters.

And the different killer powers lose their charm pretty fast. Just like playing against 28 different characters and using different tactics loses it after a while.

It's just the usual ring around the Rosie with different tools.

Survivor at least can play with friends, a reason that kept me going in league of legends for 10 years.

What, how's that an issue? Are you gonna ignore every other survivor in SWF just because you're convinced that they do mean to „bully“ you? What kind of a logic is that?!

Why do you need others to stop doing something? Why do they have to be the ones to take the first turn, why can't you be the one to take the first turn and stop doing so?

.. Just, yikes. I have no clue, if this is how you do act or if you've meant to make your response sound as if it was coming from some children throwing tantrum just because things aren't going their way, but that's exactly how it sounds to me.

If you desire or want a change, you should be the one to make the first step and show others how it's done.. Not the other way around! We're not livin' in a dream, you can't just wait for an opportunity to arrive to you.. You do have to create those opportunities and motivate people to think alongside you..

Are you.. Serious? This is nothing hard!.. Yet, it feels like you're struggling to get it and try to make a positive change that'd others welcome.. 🙄

Because even if you bring that change first, all it nets you in this game is basically nothing.

Been there, tried that for two years.

Avoiding tunneling, camping, and slugging (outside of avoiding to killer someone too early) at all cost.

Did the survivor aknowledge that? Did they step from the gas? Did they do something for me? Hell no.

At this point there is no longer anything to gain by being nice.

Hence why i stopped to paly this game in the end.

Dead by Daylight uses EAC, so it's not possible to get a VAC for cheating in Dead by Daylight; Every single VAC ban isn't tied with or to Dead by Daylight.

That's what I mean. There shouldn't be any hint on steam profiles about someone cheating in DBD.

Of course people with a documented vac ban may be more prone to cheat overall and some might take that as an indication but it's nothing more.

Edit: Okay NVM I just saw the last post in the thread after typing.

There are VAC bans and game bans. DBD would show as a game ban. I don't think you can get a VAC ban from DBD because it doesn't use VAC.

This is what the messages look like on the Steam profile:

    THIS.

My God. Killers have so many choices to trap or thwart survivors in end game. We had old Decisive and Borrowed Time. And in Solo Q, I would usually run both pre 6.1. 90% of the time, Decisive would be used before end game. But in those super rare occasions it wasn't, maybe it allowed me out the gate a scant handful of times over zillions of games. 4 man escapes don'ts happen that much in Solo. It was never a "free" escape. I paid for it with a perk slot! I sacrificed having something else that could have helped me. This whole idea of survivor perks disabling at the end game is ridiculous because the complaints about them giving "free escapes" are dependent on so many bloody conditions. Namely, the survivor has to be running it (many didn't!) and hooked *right near the gate*. ALSO (and this will resonate with most Solos) it's dependent on your bloody team mates actually rescuing you LOL. Usually in SOlo when they do, it's a hook exchange. So even if the person with Decisive technically made it out the gate- you have Dwight the hero as a consolation. And Dwight is rarely a hero.

And again, this is all situational. Usually, that hooked survivor at end game is nowhere near the Exit gate. And Killers have shown time after time that will tunnel through old BT + DS during game. They will tunnel through new OTR.

So I'm really disappointed that Devs expect survivors to waste perk slots (and let's face it, anti-camp/tunnel perks have been necessary) only to have them deactivate during crunch time.

Exactly. No one should have their perks disabled during crunch time when there is still game left to play. Nerfing/buffing is one thing, but straight-up disabling perks EGC? What's even worse is how we have a handful now and people want to advocate for even more perks to be disabled during EGC (Praying for your well-being Reassurance), and I'm sure you can guess which side the majority, if not all, those perks belong to. Guess that's the new way since the balancing is aimed towards the lowest common denominator. Absolutely mind boggling to me.

Combined with faster hit recovery, obtaining Bloodlust sooner, basekit Save the Best for Last.

Killers have counterplay for survivors who make it to EGC. It’s unsettling that survivor perks are disabling during endgame while killer perks are not. Personally, I think if four survivors make it to EGC in this meta, they’ve outplayed the killer who, if proficient, would not have allowed them to make it to EGC.

What a nice apple and oranges comparison.

Perks that activate only after the last gen is popped or even only EGC: Noed, blood warden, no way out, remember me, terminus...

Perks that can be and are most often swiftly deactivated: Noed, devour hope, other hex perks...

Perks that help the whole game over and now only deactivate after the gate are OPENED not powered: The perks mentioned in this topic
