Glad you enjoyed it! We've still got some kinks to work out, but it seemed like people had a lot of fun. Random perks were actually in there, but No Mither won that poll.
Looking forward to doing more.
Ohh ok cool, I wasn't reading chat. Next time I'll have to vote

Sounds like a lot of fun to me. I'd probably play a few matches of that every time I got on.

kinda like how ds,borrowed, soul guard, unbreakable, deliverance, iron will, fixated, dead hard, reward you for being hit
Please explain to the class how Fixated, a perk that you don't benefit from when you are injured (other than seeing scratch marks but who cares about that), rewards you for being hit.

Lol

You need to learn about delayed gratification, my friend. If you can't wait 30 seconds then that's a problem you should probably deal with.

As a survivor I hate the basement with a passion, but that's no reason to take it out of the game. You DO have control of whether or not you are camped in the basement. The map always spawns the basement in one or two spots. Learn them and stay away from those spawn points.
And keep the killer potentially having Iron Grip and Agitation in mind if they are going for a basement build. Another strategy I've seen killers use is to carry you as close to the basement as possible until you struggle off their shoulder and then they try to down you closer to the basement so they can make it the second time around. Don't fall for that. As soon as the killer drops you run in a straight line as far from the basement as possible. Do not attempt to loop the killer in the area and watch out for traps from Trapper or Hag since they are strongest in the basement.
Perks like Kindred and Dead Hard are some of the better perks for avoiding the basement.

looks like you have to "try" now instead on relying on your teamates.
You're aware this is an asymmetrical game, correct? All survivors rely on each other.

The fact you responded as you did shows me my suspicions were correct..also..I play everyone but leather face so indeed spirit and freddy suit me nicely..give me tools and I'll make it happen..see I'm out here seeking to bring the rest of the cast up..I notice a simple issue and I bring light to it..you on the other hand try to deflect the issue back on me..my question was just that..a question..you took it as you saw for which is fine..but dont think for a moment I'm blindly going into this
Whatever you say, bud.

My my you went down that route fast..I'm sorry but..I've played for 2 years...ive experianced every facet of this game..if you dont want to help this game evolve and grow that's not for me to make you..I'm merely saying the truth..because as I've said..I've seen it all by now , and one thing you'll see is many of the people who claim stuff like this which is by any games standard bad design..its because of a deep personal bias due to a lack of experiance..amazing how perceptions change when it is pointed in their direction..just as my stance on hag has changed from experiance
I went there fast? Your response to me was an insult disguised as a question and nothing more. By all means, continue to complain about how you're struggling even when you're playing one of the strongest killers in the game. Maybe Freddy or Spirit would be more up your alley.

Obviously I didn't say "no". I thought the "Other" was implied.
Oh so every other survivor said no? What about killers.. did they all say yes? And for people who play some of each, at what point in the survivor/killer ratio did they agree with your proposal? 40/60? 30/70? HIGHER?!

You dont play hag much I take it
I love how anytime someone disagrees with you you just say they don’t play Hag/killer/whatever enough. You might as well not even respond because you’re contributing absolutely nothing to the discussion. I’m sorry you’re bad with Hag but that’s not flashlights’ fault
-
@Respectfulnancymain said:
Both are unbalanced imo, a item shouldnt completly counter a killers power, and a killer shouldnt make some perks complelty usless
Neither of those things is true tho. Survivors need to see the trap and have the time and flashlight battery to get rid of it. It’s limited. For PH to counter those perks you need to be tormented and by putting you in a cage he gives up the ability to use certain perks. Neither the power or the perks are completely countered.
-
Okay, I’m cool with that.
-
I refuse to play against iridescent hatchets. I will work on gens normally until she finds me and if she downs me after a chase I KO myself on first hook. Sorry to my fellow survivors in these games but I will not reward that mechanic by giving a Huntress more BP she can use to buy more iridescent hatchets.
I find it crazy that they haven't nerfed this add on and even worse that they made her a featured character of this Tome with challenges without addressing the add on first.

"New" face camping already had a term: hard camping. There was a distinction. Sure, we could change the name "retroactively", but it's much easier to go with what we had than to completely change the vocabulary.
It's like spamming M1 while on the hook: it means that the killer is camping, so you shouldn't save. Sure, maybe it sounds a little backwards, but we understood each other. However, with the influx of newbies who use it the wrong way, we now have what could be a very useful action that effectively means nothing, because you have no idea what the player means.
Using "face camping" to mean hard camping delayed a fix because people were reporting "face camping" as a bug without further explanation (or with insults, in typical salty gamer fashion). What does face camping mean nowadays? That the killer is close to the hook, which isn't a bug by any stretch of the imagination. Are the devs supposed to read the player's minds and know who's using the term correctly and who isn't?
It's an expression.

I still don't follow. The devs knew that the interaction was blocked because the killer's hitbox was in the way and you could only unhook from the front. How many reports did they need? I don't even think they needed any reports lol. It was very easily reproducible by their QA team. Whether they got 1 report or 10,000 is irrelevant. It's not like a bug that only happens on some maps with certain fog conditions and certain killers with certain add ons lol.
Do you even have any reason to believe the exploit fix was delayed due to false reports? Like did a dev or CM say that?

Meanwhile with infectious i can just link multiple downs easily as doc because no cooldown and max tr. So i could down those 2 survivors and the 3rd applying even more pressure than gens.
Ok? Infectious only tells you where a survivor is. You don't gain anything else from it. And removing the CD from Surge would make IF even more powerful when combined...

This runs counter to why they claimed to nerf Ruin though. They said they changed Ruin because it slowed gens for nothing, they wanted killers to have to apply pressure and “earn,” that slowdown. Yet here we are saying if killers do apply too much pressure they still can’t earn that slowdown...
I'm not sure what your point is. First of all, I'm not a dev, so their words are completely irrelevant to my opinion. Second, you can set limits on things players can earn, which the devs have already shown to do by making it so many perks do not work together or at the same time.

Surge is a fixed range, it isn’t affected by terror radius. It also only works on basic attacks, so it would only be dangerous if the survivors were all injured together or just totally incompetent and unable to run away.
If three survivors all go down next to a progressing gen one after the other after seeing the killer has Surge, they deserve that 24% regression.
"If three survivors all go down next to a progressing gen one after the other after seeing the killer has Surge, they deserve that 24% regression."
Ok, and I disagree. It's unnecessary. And with those survivors down the gen will continue to regress even further. So even with Surge's limits, the killer is still earning regression by pressure.
-
I feel like if you're getting multiple downs within 40 seconds you're probably already doing well and don't need the extra boost.
So in this scenario you down two survivors and a third survivor is working on a gen, netting you 16% of progress removed from that gen, plus two survivors on the ground and you know one more is in your immediate area working on a gen that he can't possibly complete before you get to him? Now let's say you down him and you've got three survivors down and 24% removed from a gen. I don't see how all of that is really necessary.
[Plus if you use larger TR perks you could remove even more progress because gens are often close together. It would make 3 genning with Doc even more powerful.] Edit: you can ignore this because I forgot how Surge works
-
It honestly makes zero sense that this is still in the game because it's unavoidable. It's not like it's a lack of skill that causes it, it's just purely chance.
I love when it happens when you're on a gen with another survivor so you're the reason the gen doesn't get fixed and the killer comes over.

Face camping was, though. Real face camping, not what kids call "face camping" these days. Face camping is an exploit where you stand in front of the hooked survivor in such a way that the "Unhook" prompt will never show up. It was removed with the introduction of swivel hooks, then reintroduced a couple times due to bugs. The fact that people mistakenly call "face camping" whenever the killer stands in front of the hooked survivor didn't help get it fixed. That's why having strict definitions is important.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1324186#Comment_1324186
Because killers' hitboxes are larger, they can't follow the same path as survivors around an object. They have to go with a wider (and therefore longer) path around objects, so the killers' speed becomes partially irrelevant. In other words, they're essentially exploiting their smaller hitbox to nullify the speed advantage killers are supposed to have.
Survivors were meant to hide and/or break the chase ASAP, like @tixerp said. However, that's too difficult for the vast majority of players (also like tixerp said), so looping became the default. The existence of infinite loops back then didn't help either. Rather than force survivors to play better by changing one small detail that would almost completely eliminate looping, the devs decided to go with it, made looping part of the core gameplay, and balanced around that.
Or the old face camping needed a better and more explicit name, like unhook blocking. People still call it face camping if the killer is in the survivor's face or really close because it's a fitting name. It makes it much harder to save that survivor, especially with certain killers, add ons and perks. It's just an easy, quick way to distinguish between a killer who camps but stands back several feet or patrols the immediate area around the hook and a killer that gets in your face.
I'm not really sure what calling multiple things face camping did to delay a fix. You're telling me the devs were unaware the prompt didn't show simply because some people used the word more liberally? I find that hard to believe.
Also most words have quite a few definitions and they evolve over time.
Also, also, that was like 3 years ago so who are you calling kids?? Lol
-
Bubbas always have NOED so I find it hard to believe he couldn't even get a hit with the extra speed.
But seriously, of course it's possible. But that survivor would have to be really good plus lucky, and that killer would have to be bad, unlucky and insanely stubborn.
-
Running from the killer and trying not to get hit was always intended, yes.

I wonder if they're moving away from new chapters every 3 months. I feel like a graphics overhaul is going to take a lot of people/effort, especially to make it so consoles can handle it.

Not Mori, that would be too easy. But I do enjoy torturing Claudettes and making their lives miserable. I'm happy to announce that I have almost 100% kill rate on Claudettes in my games, I simply will never let them escape or have any fun whatsoever. ######### Blendettes, they're the worst of the scum, not in levels of toxicity, but by doing absolutely nothing all game long, not helping team mates, not doing gens, not contributing in any way, shape or form, then escaping through hatch.
Yikes.
-
It's an idiotic challenge. It's not fun, it can very easily hurt you and your teammate's chances of escaping and it takes ZERO skill. Sometimes I think they come up with these just to give killers easier games since anything less than a 4k is a complete loss for a lot of people.
-
Demo is a big stinky doofus just like you!
I mean that as a compliment

I mean if you're gonna ask that then why do blinds force killers to drop survivors at all? Why can't killers just close their eyes?

Nah. Even if IH was restricted to 1 and latency was not a factor at all, it's still too strong. It needs a new effect entirely.

You know it's okay to criticize someone's work and it doesn't mean you're personally attacking the artist as a person, right? If some people go over the line then that's unfortunate and should be dealt with, but saying you don't think a design deserved to win because you think it's unoriginal or doesn't fit the character or whatever doesn't mean you're insulting anyone. If you're an artist then you'll need to expect people to be critical of your work.

Ehh I don't agree. Gender makes sense depending on what they do for the voice but race? Why would that matter?
"Oh the base character is white so we can't have any other ethnicities in their place" Um what? What sense does that make? I would even argue the voice acting aspect wouldn't matter as long as it's the same gender. I mean Claudette is voiced by a white woman and Meg a black woman so...
There's nothing wrong with asking the question so there's no need to call someone out for doing so.

I've faced good Hags, but they're 1 in a million. Most of the Hags I face are between ranks 10-17 and place about 4 traps in every possible entrance or 3 directly at my feet.
That has absolutely nothing to do with how good the Hag is. There are plenty of Billies that don't even use his chainsaw to attack does that mean he's bad?

Why not? So far we have one example. A white woman becomes another white woman. It's a fair question to ask.
