The whole invu frame crap is total BS.

Same as the free exhaustion relief for getting hooked.

Serious a rusty hook through your shoulder is relieving you from being exhausted? #########?

I can't imagine you typed this comment with a straight face. Absolutely nothing about this game is realistic. Just as a reminder, this is a video game. It is not real life. It's not even pretending to be.

I can't believe people bring up that "it's a game" to ignore realism.
Any game, especially fantastic games (or movies or books, etc.) need SOME level of realism to make the player immerse in the game.
There has to be some consistency in the physic of the gameworld.
Of course some stuff like killer powers are meant to break that, because they are some kind of demonic magic, but the rest around it hast o follow some rules to make it feel real.
But exhaustion being relieved from a chilling time hanging out at an relaxing rusty hook? Come on.
Leave your "this is a game" crap and get some real argument supporting this crappy band aid to please the survivor and give them another extra chance on top of all their extra chances. Why is the killer get punished for teammates doing bad unhooks?

"Any game, especially fantastic games (or movies or books, etc.) need SOME level of realism to make the player immerse in the game."

There is "SOME" level of realism. You're just trying to pick and choose which things you think should be realistic to suit your bias.

I'm not sure why you're conflating exhaustion reset with unhooking, but it's fine and does not need to be reverted. This is how balance works.

Sometimes a risky unhook is necessary, for instance it's much better to try to get a survivor unhooked if they're about to go into phase 2 even if the killer is nearby. Sometimes it pays off, sometimes it doesn't. Getting 0 BP is way too harsh. It's fine as it is now.

Your opinion is how balance works? How do you mean that?

If you go for a risky unhook, then YOU should feel the risk, and not the victim on the hook that is farmed by you

I do take a risk. Often I will let the killer hit me then while he's in the weapon cleaning animation I will unhook. The killer could do two things, line up behind me to hit me, or move around and hit the unhooked survivor. Either way, I'm talking about when a survivor is about to enter phase 2 or die. There is NO reason not to take that risk. At the very least, if the killer hits the unhooked survivor, you force him to pick up that survivor and hook him again, wasting time.

OR the killer could get greedy, down the unhooked survivor and chase after you thinking he'll get 2 for one. Then your other teammates come in and heal the survivor on the ground.

Great points @brokedownpalace and thank you for being so civilized.
Likewise. I would debate more but I've got a headache lol. Good night.
  • I'm not sure how it's delaying the inevitable. Often times the unhooked survivor gets away. Like when the unhooker takes a hit, like you said in your second example. Or the killer loses track of the unhooked survivor, or the unhooked survivor can make it to a good pallet or window and get some distance. The whole point of playing survivor is to delay the killer from downing and hooking you so there's more time to do gens.

And as for your second point, you cannot always take the hit.

I was face camping because I was playing against a obviously 4 man SWF with 2x flashlight and this guy had DS. I dont use DS unless my viewers ask me too. I have a real hate towards DS and NOED. The game before I let people escape.

It pissed me so off I stopped streaming because this game has become trash since Spirit Patch. (I only stream this game currently because of audio issues trying to stream ps4 games using a capture card.)

Still not a good enough reason to facecamp just because they're using a perk you don't like, I don't like NOED or Franklin's Demise but I will still say "GG" to the killer using those perks after the game.

Alright next time I will run to the other side of the map so they can unhook him and run 20m towards the open exit gate bro.

I love how often this line is used "guess I gotta run to the other side of the map!" "killer is on the map so he's camping!"

Leatherface's only strength is camping. Not everyone is the basement camping LF or the camp on first hook LF, but every single match I've played against a LF, he's revving his chainsaw right in front of the hook at least once.

That's fine. But it's also fine to call it out as an obnoxious tactic. Just like flashlight saves or body blocking the hook are incredibly annoying when they're pulled off, but they're still legit.

But face camping cause your feelings got hurt because you don't like a perk is silly and you will rightfully be called out when you do it.

And killers camping the hatch... what else are they supposed to do? Hatch mechanic is somewhat broken, we all know this.

No we do not all know this because most people know that just because you don't like how something works does not mean it's broken.
  • Does Trapper get a notification when you step in his trap with Calm Spirit?
  • @friendlykillermain No, it doesn't. They're decreasing the time it takes the killer to perform actions and decreasing the time spent in chases by nerfing exhaustion perks,  getting rid of pallet vacuums and changing vaults. I get so many hits through pallet drops or when a survivor can't quite get that fast vault. Chases chases end much faster now.
  • For the same reason increasing the time it takes to repair gens would suck. We do not need to spend MORE time holding down a button and staring at the screen. The devs are creative with their changes for this reason. Repairing gens is boring.

15% reduction for one survivor being injured is basically just a free 15%. Odds are, for the vast majority of the trial, at LEAST one survivor will be hooked or injured. Stacked with Sloppy Butcher it'll be silly. Like 24 seconds to heal someone else or 45ish seconds to self heal? That is not fun gameplay.

The perk should be re-worked entirely. Maybe each time a survivor is hooked, for the next 20/25/30 seconds repairing, healing and cleansing speeds are reduced by 20%. Obviously values could be adjusted but I think a higher % for a more limited time would be fair.

Also, @Tsulan .. gens take 80 seconds to complete, healing takes 16/20/32/40 seconds to complete. Botany gets a much higher % because they are smaller numbers. Something close to 33% would be ridiculous for Thanatophobia. 15% would be completely useless for Botany.

Yeah i know, an actually strong killer perk would be ridiculous...
    Only survivors deserve them.

    K. I forgot you can't have an actual discussion.

  • Every single nerf the devs give survivors (exhaustion, healing (which nerfs Self Care), pallet vacuums, flashlights, BNP,  etc. etc) is barely acknowledged by some of the deeply biased killer mains here. Nothing is ever meaningful. Nothing ever satisfies them.

Sony has said they are not interested and do not intend to do it. If you want elaboration then use Google. Some games are able to do it for some reason, but it's a workaround.

Fortnites crossplay is not a work around. Things like this take time to test and work out.

It appears they have recently, at the end of September, allowed it. Before then it was a workaround for ps4 players to group up with PC players (or Sony was simply turning a blind eye).

Elaborate, why wont they allow? IS this official, if yes whats the reason?

Other ps games have cross platform too, take rocket leauge for example and before you start with controller vs mouse, fortnite has cross platform too

    It's actually x0.5 BP 🤣

If it was "x0.5" then you are losing half...

Well I guess you didn't watch the stream.
  • Dear diary...
  • I camped as LF the other night because I needed to do a daily ritual and I hate playing as him. The only fun to be had playing like that is in knowing that you're pissing someone off. It doesn't take skill. You're entirely reliant on survivors playing poorly, suiciding on the hook or DCing out of frustration. The BP gain/time spent is not worth it. If they play well you depip. If they play poorly you rank up even though you shouldn't.

People can defend it all they want but don't play like a troll and then complain about toxicity.
  • I brokedownpalace promise to be the ray of light for everyone to see on this forum. I'm gonna be a better example and will show others what it's like to be a beacon.
  • As a killer I regularly get silly hits that I should not have. But just as often I don't get hits that blatantly should have connected. It's latency.

Also I noticed that sometimes when I miss the game still takes over control of my character and my screen swings around to follow the survivor. But I still miss. What's up with that? The game thinks you've hit so swings you around to make the hit look clean but for some reason at the last second decides it wasn't a hit after all?
  • I really like the idea of crouching being part of the trigger. And only deactivating when in a chase. I don't think it should reveal survivors too, though.
  • I think NOED is a trash perk and as poorly designed as DS, but if 100% of the last 20 games had NOED then don't you think it would be a good idea to start cleansing totems???

^ Title pretty much says it all. All I'm seeing is Noed, noed, noed, Eboni Mori, mori, mori, insta hatchets, 3 or 4 blink nurses, Haunted grounds, Bloodwarden, Silentbells & so on & so on. So boring.

Not trying to be "that" guy here but when I get on to Dead By Daylight as a Killer attempting to get the event done all I see are toxic survivors. SWF P3 Claudette's running Flashlights, Toolboxes and they all have DS and adrenaline. Also to add insult to injury when I do get one and I'm trying to get them to the event hook either someone sabotaged it and broke it in front of my face or someone comes to flashlight save.

Remember we want vials too man and if you wonder why some guys runs a mori it's because of this I have over 50 mori's stacked on my Nurse and Pig and I only get it out when I see that SWF Claudette team because I hate it when they come to give me a hard time and just t-bag me either at the exit gate or just threw out the match. Now all we can do is put up with it and git gud.

You are blatantly lying seeing as event hooks cannot be sabotaged. You making this claim basically calls into question the rest of this toxicity you claim to be witnessing.

Also.. using toolboxes and flashlights is toxic? Using ADRENALINE is toxic? I'll ignore DS because some killer mains here legitimately do think just the act of using DS is inherently toxic.

If using items or perks is by itself toxic then playing as Nurse is the epitome of toxicity.
@mandytalks can the event hooks be sabotaged or not
You don't need to @ an employee to ask. It's in the patch notes or you could just play and find out.

  • @Tsulan The two are not mutually exclusive.
  • All you have to do is play a map offering for The Game and run into the back corner of the basement. Impossible to reach a nonbasement hook from there.
  • Because having a hook impale your body and have your entire body weight pulling down on that gaping wound hurts?

Oh, but taking a machete or chainsaw or hatchet or butcher knife or sword or electrified anal probe or cleaver or switchblade to the back doesn't?
  • Probably a side eFFect of them adjusting the screaming time.

That's probably it. I actually specifically put it on because the screams are so long now (and the Doc is currently really popular with that new skin).
  • I've also hit a survivor while blinded on PS4. Maybe you... missed?
  • Sounds like a super healthy relationship.
  • What are you even saying?
  • Thank you!
  • Sounds super cool but I think it should only be one use and you need to activate it when healing to use it. I think unlimited use is too powerful and would be extremely frustrating for the killer. Especially when it's end game, you know the survivor who used the perk will be sitting at the exit gate teabagging.
  • They can't simply lower the terror radius or chase music and keep all other sounds the same. They're at their levels by design. If you can't hear survivors then either your hearing isn't 100% or your headphones are not very good. I do think they could stand to lower the music a bit but make the same or similar adjustments to certain other sounds. Some tweaks are necessary.. I agree that the Pig and Doctor breathing is way too loud.
  • Nah this happens to me regularly. I can't move for about 2 to 3 seconds. On ps4 as well.
  • More and more? Adrenaline has done this for several months at least.
  • It's fine how it is. It's not "overly complicated." Let's not be dramatic
  • Make it so you are so strong that when you break a pallet the splinters are sent flying. Any survivor within 3m is hit and becomes hindered for 8 seconds. No more free blinds at pallets ;)
  • This event was almost great. I think after you reach 30/30 vials for survivor, each offering burned should grant you +20% extra BP.
  • Clear eyes, full Wraith, can't lose.

Also Claudette's torso and Doc torso + head.
  • If you're chasing down survivors with traps then you're playing the Pig all wrong, dude.
  • Devs: Only 1 skin can be unlocked.
