I've been playing around with him trying to get adept.
By trying to get adept, I mean "hoping survivors literally ripped off their own hands on the loading screen to be pathetic enough to lose to adept Ghost Face."
Thrilling Tremors does almost nothing. It's an information perk, disguised as a stalling perk, and it barely does either. By the time you pick them up and take them to a hook the effect is almost over. 9 times out of 10 you can see a red gen, so you get to watch it pop as you get halfway to it. Wowee, glad I have that wonderful ability.
I'm All Ears is mediocre at best. You can see them fast vault. Once. In almost every situation you can already see where they're going. If it had a lower cooldown, MAYBE it'd be ok.
Furtive Chase is laughable. For one thing he can turn off his TR in a chase anyway. (That's if it's not still on it's frankly ridiculous cooldown.) For another, it gives you a 16m radius in a chase. If they're actually making it out of that, you aren't still in a chase, you're running after scratch marks that go across half the map and are better off finding someone new. Oh, wait, you can't find someone new because that person who lost you puts your power on permanent cooldown.

I think bps and event cakes should still show, the rest should be secret.
Especially Black and White wards. They have no impact on the game at all. Their only impact is after a match you don't lose your things, or before a match the other side gets to prematurely DC to waste your time.

I agree that Solvent Jug is an excellent add on, but (other than Kerosene Can) all his other add-ons are still tremendously useful. I’d say out of the entire roster, Clown has the least amount of useless add-ons.
I dunno, I always end up with a tonne of reduced cooldown between throws and movement speed while reloading.

It's the only thing that makes Clown fantastic. Just deny that Dead Hard or Balanced Landing and drink the survivor tears.
How DARE you use an add on that counters my insanely predictable build!!! - Survivor hit by any exhaustion add on.
-
Killers are already incredibly pressured for time. If you put in a power like that, you'd nearly never have time to do any of those things.
-
Haemmorhage needs to be removed. Merge it into mangled PERMANENTLY. Is there ANY time someone has used a haemmorhage add on on purpose? They're awful. And yet every time a killer has debuff add ons they burn a slot on that rubbish.
-
Hiding it in the store is still ######### for new players. There's very little indication that something that important even exists.
-
I'd like it, but only AFTER reworking the ######### out of Haddonfield. That map's broken enough without STEALTHY balanced landings off the houses.
-
You want a ######### tonne of salt?
Mint Rag
Thrill of the Hunt + Ruin + Devour Hope + Haunted Grounds
Game offering.
-
Hag not only has no markers with where her story fits, there's also no real link between that and when she's taken.
People love to say she's a young girl because it mentions that elders taught her, but there's no actual link to the incident of her kidnapping.
Beyond that, there's no distinct point of her being taken after her escape, just that she didn't return to her home.
Visually, she has grey hair and is referenced as a Hag which is almost always a descriptor of an old woman. She may have been any age when she was cannibalised and became a cannibal through some dark magic, but by the time she was taken she's been around a long time.
-
Trapper - Hard. Without potato survivors your power can be incredibly unreliable. His perks have VERY little impact on the match. Brutal Strength is nice, but usually with other killers. His power also harms some emblems.
Wraith - Hard. He's a mediocre killer at best, and all of his perks are for tracking, which he doesn't struggle with.
Billy - Easy. High mobility, easy downs. No speed penalty means m1 can be used to stack up more emblem points. His perks are strong for chasing and for sneak attacks.
Nurse - Hard. Her power is difficult to learn, and besides Nurse's Calling, her perks have little to no impact on most games.
Shape - Medium. Solid power, many add ons that can change him to suit how you want to play. (I used the T2 mirror to avoid emblem damage from exposed.) His perks are pretty crap though.
Hag - Luck-based. Devour Hope harms emblems, Third Seal is mediocre, so it mostly comes down to whether the map favours Hag, and how long ruin lasts.
Doctor - Hard. Mediocre power. His perks are pretty ######### except M&A which directly conflicts with most builds used on him.
Huntress - Medium. She's a solid killer but you're basically playing perkless. Comes down to map, and how long lullaby lasts.
Cannibal - Medium. He's not a great killer but packs some solid perks. If you chuck on really good add ons, shouldn't be too hard.
Nightmare - Hard. His power is a pain. Emblems are based around keeping gens protected early and getting lots of chases, but all of his perks revolve around winning in the end game. Not a great combination all round.
Pig - Easy. Great stalling from traps, decent although not perfect perks. Probably easier cos I play her a tonne anyway.
Clown - Easy. Decent power to stop your time being wasted, great combination of perks affecting the pace of the game.
Spirit - Easy. Really strong power, decent perks. High mobility AND Spirit Fury make it a pretty simple win.
Legion - Hard. They don't have a power. They only have 1 perk. On the upside if you do get ######### survivors who let you win, they score highly in emblems easily.
Plague - Hard. Survivors like to stay broken which destroys your chaser emblem. Corrupt Intervention almost 100% guarantees a bad layout of the last 3 gens for you by splitting them up majorly. Her other perks are mediocre at best.

Only Shelter Woods have gotten an increase recently. When RNG decides that half of a map should have all the pallets, its gonna feel like the map's packed with pallets.
The developers do have plans to increase the amount of pallets on each map but make them all much more unsafe to compensate. Its still way off.
It sounds like a good thing, less pallets that are just "press space to buy 10-20 extra seconds" and more mindgaming and plays that at least COULD end in a hit.
That said, there are so many jungle gyms on so many maps. How in the world do you place a pallet in ANY of the jungle gyms we have right now without them being too safe?
-
It isn't "extra clutter," there's still a spot for its button on the side. It's just less wasted space.
-
Selling out a teammate after they've basically already decided you should die so they get hatch isn't working with the killer, it's doing the same thing back to someone that they've done to you. That's infighting and completely justified play.
-
Nope. If I want to play killer all night, I want to play killer all night.
If I were subjected to 4 matches of survivor for every 1 as killer, I probably just wouldn't play.
-
You can't depip below 15. EVENTUALLY they have a game where they scrape enough to pip, and up they go.
-
Nah, at that point it's less to do with being tunnelled and more to do with the issues old DS had. If you're running them for a full minute timer, then you don't NEED an extra hit to draw out the match, gens should be getting done. If you're just found again after a minute, consider swapping it for perks like Iron Will.
Gotta remember that there's 4 survivors and the game's balanced around people dying, not everyone being guaranteed a survival every time they feel like the killer did something they don't like. Chances are nobody going down for over a minute have made it much more likely 3 other people will live.

I've never had an issue with this perk and it's not OP. I do have an issue, however, with giving Tier 3 perks to a Tier 1 unlock. Look at Hex Ruin and NOED. You should be rewarded for unlocking it all the way instead of just keeping it at Tier 1. That also goes for some survivor perks too (Adrenaline).
They have been actively changing perks like that specifically to reduce the need to grind by reducing perks that are nearly worthless at low tiers.
Not wanting that is just nuts.

Also pings everyone and shows the obsessions aura so you can track/ignore them until late game thus making it useful as you dont waste time on a free one down.
It only shows all 4 survivors as scream bubbles. The obsession sees YOUR aura, so they always have a heads up to avoid it in the end game and play stealthier. You never get a reveal on which one of the screams is the obsession.
-
I know that it can be frustrating, but it's one of the very few achievements that's actually interesting. SO MANY OF THEM are just "do X mundane thing Y amount of times." There's no achievement in that, only grind.
Tombstoning every single survivor in a match is actually a huge accomplishment and having an achievement to show you did it is awesome.
Yeah, you're gonna have to deal with people trying to deny it to you, but eventually you'll achieve it, and it's more meaningful than almost every other achievement.

The issue with him being pc only is then they could ever do multi platform and include the pc community with it.
Of pc people would have to choose a button multi platform or not and if they choose to que multi platform the option of him and his perks are locked
His perks are in the generic pool on console, with L4D references removed. They could easily put him into cross-platform play by making him appear as other survivors to consoles, like a Dwight.

https://i.imgur.com/tAgXaf2.jpg After 5+ minutes "searching for a match" this is what I get.
Remind me what I was searching for? Because it clearly wasn't survivors. There aren't dedicated servers so I wasn't waiting for that. It's just an arbitrary time added to sit there and do nothing for no reason.

I personally wouldn't mind if my offering of those went missing. Just useless clutter for in-game advertisements when I already bought the killer.
You could just burn it one match and then it's gone. Or prestige.
-
It really doesn't match the rest of her outfit, nor other prestige cosmetics. It isn't bloody at all, she just has grey hair over red roots.
That said the rest of her prestige needs a look at too, as it looks like she just took a bath in tomato sauce.
-
It also wouldn't take 5 generators just to open a door.
-
It isn't "pay to win" but having more than half the game locked behind DLC paywalls is getting a bit insane, and it's more than just a little daunting for new players.
I have a new friend starting out who's been playing mostly killer. Every time they ask me a question about which perks are best I feel like I'm just saying "X, Y and Z locked DLC." They like Nurse but don't like most of the other default unlocked killers, they ask me which ones they'd like and again X, Y and Z locked character." They're incredibly put off that you're expected to spend at every turn, and $10 AUD is a lot to spend on a game that you already bought every time you want to be able to use a character.
Surely AT LEAST older DLC packs could get vastly reduced. Many games decrease in price over time, but all of these packs are still charging the same rates that they did day 1.
It also wouldn't hurt to at least bump PC up to the same base game as console, including Doctor/Feng and Hag/Ace. It's really sad that Feng basically comes with the perfect perks for a brand new player but they'll probably never be used like that. By the time anyone ever gets Technician, they're past the stage that it's useful. Similar to WoO.

Self Care
Urban Evasion
Borrowed Time / Bond / Iron Will / Quick & Quiet
Why should I run Poised over one of those?
Because Sprint Burst is garbage.
And Urban Evasion.
And Self Care to a degree.
That's like the full new-player-trap build.
-
It's absolutely ridiculous. I queue for 5 minutes for what? An empty lobby that takes another 5 minutes for survivors to trickle in.
If I queued, and immediately entered a full lobby, then ok. But this is stupid and backwards, I'm just being handed +5 minutes between matches for NOTHING.
-
With all the potential horror on netflix, why do people jump straight to this dumpster fire?
-
God I hope not, it was an awful show.
This a game for horror themes, not "wow, my kiddy friend has superpowers!" nonsense.
-
Ruin is NOT necessary, and the fact that it's meta has to be some insane mass delusion. It barely lasts 30 seconds in a match, and there's way better stalling perks in the game.
You bring ruin as a choice, probably because some youtuber told you it was mandatory.
You know what might be better than playing with 3 perks, hinging your game on the first seconds? Playing with 4 perks that impact the REST of the match.

The conditions to earn a protection should be as follows:
- There must be a survivor within 8 meters from you.
- That survivor can not be downed or hooked.
- Take damage from the killer when you're not hooked.
I dunno, sometimes you heal someone from dying because you took a hit. That should still be protection.

So what you're saying is that the inner area of the maps are mostly marshes, but the outskirts are swamp, as they have woody trees.

Since when is camping decent play?
It isn't necessarily about camping, it's about anything that happens while someone is on the hook. If survivors rush to unhook like they usually do, you aren't allowed to punish them for it on GF, differently to EVERY OTHER KILLER who can still use their power around a hooked person.
You chase someone, and they go near the hook? Well you can't use your stealth to mindgame a jungle gym, because that dude over there is hooked. You down someone, and know an ally is on a gen nearby. Can you make a play by going for them in shroud? Nope, that guy you downed gets to permanently disable your power at 0 cost.

True, but still it can be hard to spot Ghost Face in some situations, and I just think that many players would play him like that if hooked survivors couldn't disable his power. I think it's the right decision of the devs. They need to try and make a killer as fun as possible for both sides. And having hordes of Ghost Faces just stay at the hook would be pretty bad.
It's the right approach for all killers in my opinion. Encourage and reward killers more for playing skillfully and in a way that's fun for killers and survivors, and less for camping and tunneling, which isn't so fun to go against. This isn't an issue of balance however, but of design. The more fun an online game is for both competing sides, the better the game is.
You keep saying both sides like it's going to be SO MUCH FUN for a killer whose power, with a massive cooldown that can already be disabled, is also going to have their power rendered completely unusable any time they make a decent play.
This mechanic isn't 'fun,' it's a safety net for survivors who make bad decisions and still demand to win.
-
I'd prefer to be killed on hook, than slugged for 3:59 first while they find the last person to avoid being cheesed out of a 4k.
Also, abandoning your teammates so you can camp the hatch should not receive buffs.
-
There's only really two tiers:
David and Laurie - Perks that are an active downside in most matches.
Everyone else.

@ad19970 said:
All Ghost Face would have to do is hide somewhere near the hook, stalk the survivor who is going for the save and then instadown him. It would probably be the most effective way to play Ghost Face. But that would simply be bad design and wouldn't be fun for survivors at all. If Ghost Face will still need more buffs, than I do hope he gets them, but that's one thing I hope doesn't get changed.
He ALREADY has a built in mechanism to prevent this, requiring only that the unhooker looks around before making a bad play. He doesn't need a massive shackle like players with NOTHING to do except look at him permanently disabling his power ins a huge aoe.
-
@Arroz said:
I agree with everyone except the pig.
Pig never was supossed to be a stealth killer, and devs made she like this.
You mean the Pig from Saw? The outfit literally used to sneak up on unaware victims and kidnap them. Almost never seen until they're already ambushing the victim? Yeah that's not stealthy at all.
-
If anything it's a benefit for the survivor, as it would very quickly burn your distortion charges, starting the first time you're downed.
It's probably similar to Iron Will being disabled on the ground, it's considered unfun to be left on the ground for long periods of time, and it's also not fun to search for a survivor that could silently be anywhere, so the interaction doesn't occur to improve gameplay all round.
-
It's simply incorrect to say Ghostface has no limitation in camping, because it's a fundamental built in part of his power.
His power is disabled by looking at him. In order to counter him camping and exposing people, all the unhooker needs to do is look around before rushing out into the open to unhook someone and BAM, power on cooldown for a LONG duration. Half a hook stage of cooldown.
It is incredibly similar to Hag in the sense that his ability to camp is determined by survivor decisions to not rush to the hook without thinking about it.
Yeah, if survivors choose to ignore which killer they're up against and play poorly, they should be punished for it. The killer's power shouldn't be disabled as a safety net for poor decisions made by the other team.
On top of that, if it were only hooked survivors then it MAY be acceptable, but preventing power use around downed survivors destroys a lot of potential plays to be made when a survivor gets downed. Even recent perks like Infectious Fright could have been interesting on him, as you could down a survivor and use the reveal to mark a new target and down them as well. Instead, your power is disabled AGAIN as a safety net so survivors can't be downed for not reacting to a killer being right near them.
His power being disabled by mildly aware survivors is already enough to cover these situations. It is completely unrealistic to say that an unhook or a heal is a free mark when through this whole time, the unhooker and healer has the capacity to prevent that from occurring by simply playing well and turning their camera before making hasty decisions.
-
It's difficult and counterable, but it's one of the few actually meaningful achievements and is actually great to show you did exceptionally.
-
Not to mention he can't stalk the person on hook, so all using the power to camp encourages is exposing the unhooker and going for them.
-

You do realise that it's not fanservice? It clearly states in her lore that Rin worked in a traditional Japanese restaurant where the waitresses would have been geishas, and in Japan it has always been seen as more attractive to have a thin, slender figure. Because of this, geishas would wear sarashi in order to bind their body into a more slender figure. Just because something happens to be revealing on a female character doesn't mean that its purpose is to be sexual, the devs have clearly always put an aspect of realism into each and every one of their characters and just because one of these aspects can be seen as fanservice doesn't mean it is. What about hag? Her breasts are completely exposed but you don't care about that?
That's a bad cop out at best. Read her lore and you see she rode her bike home and immediately heard her mother being killed.
So you're either suggesting that, just because she has a uniform at work, she rode a pushbike home through the streets in nothing more than bandages with a bike seat wedgie, or she got home and went "Hey Dad, can you hold off on murdering Mum while I just strip almost naked? Thanks."
No part of her lore suggests any reason she would be next to naked when she died. Nor is there any reason to strip her. Hell, the entity took Ash NAKED and clothed him.
So yeah, there's a massive difference between the blatant fanservice of an almost-naked teenage Japanese girl being used as complete weeb bait, and a crusty old half-cannibalised woman with her fried egg swinging around.

All jokes aside Imo Head On shouldn’t be an exhaustion perk. Just make it a cooldown perk.
Remove exhaustion from Head On, make it a cooldown perk.
Add fast locker exits to Lithe and make it consistent with Quick and Quiet and Dance With Me that work on rushed vaults AND locker exits.
Head On/Lithe = New meta.
-
Sprint Burst should be pretty close to the bottom. It severely limits your movement for the entire match to avoid using it and greatly lowers your efficiency in everything besides chases because of this.
Lag affects Dead Hard sometimes, it doesn't 'kill the perk.' I still wouldn't out it above Lithe/BL as once it goes off once, if that, it can be counterplayed by the killer where the others are mostly in survivor control.
Head On isn't poor due to latency, the devs have talked about it on stream and essentially the issue is that the hitbox and timing for it are incredibly small and unintuitive and it's being fixed sometime.
