The only recolours I see around are Claudettes trying to blend more with the dark brown shirt and pants.

I agree. Putting any perk in as base kit is just giving the side 5 perks every game. You think that won't just translate into an extra second-chance for survivors or an extra stalling perk on killers? It won't fix anything, it will just take their boring builds and make them even more oppressive.

The killswitch is there for something that's absolutely game breaking and can crash the game or be severely exploited where the game cannot end for example. Neither of those apply here, survivors can be slugged etc.
Whilst I appreciate RPD can be frustrating right now, it is something that has been brought up to the team.
A totem couldn't be cleansed - Killswitch.
A game is drawn out excessively and survivors can't be hooked - Nah, all good.
If either of those is close to game-breaking and preventing the game from ending, it's the latter.

I am one solo queue survivor with four perks... don't lump me in this "16 perks" nonsense!
And think of all the examples of times survivors are just told to run perks to counter killer playstyles and perks - not going to write that essay again!
It doesn't matter how you queue, the game isn't 1v1
-
@Shenlong1904 said:
And killers have perks that do the same
noed: Just waste time
ruin: Just dont run away
pain resonance: just dont get hooked
pop: just dont get hooked
thanatophobia: always heal when injured
bamboozle: just dont use windows
blood favour: Just dont use pallets
Make actual arguments that only apply to one side, not both if you want to convince people.
I do think some of those perks need nerfs, but this is not the way of conveying it
In nearly all of those examples you get to see that the perk is in effect before it punishes you, or it is a reward for the killer winning a chase. In other cases you can outright remove the perks from the game.
Unlike on the survivor side where the killer has to play like a good little punching bag whether the perks are there or not, because they're invisible until after the killer has already been punished, and you have to assume any given one is in effect.
-
For the most part Blood Lust only exists to help newer killers anyway. I can't remember the last time I gained BL2 because just breaking something removes it. I think survivors overestimate how much of an effect it has. You're probably very, very rarely hit because of it.
There's no real reason to remove it and make life harder for new killers. If they're actually getting BL3 then they're losing the match, no reason to kick them when they're down.

@GoshJosh said:
Indeed it does. Can’t help but chuckle reading the comments on the forums saying they don’t want to change their perks to counter Boil Over, when you don’t even need perks to counter it at all in the first place. Slugging is free!
It takes a killer 1/4-1/2 of all their perks to counter Boil Over, which basically only returns them to default gameplay, it doesn't actually provide any sort of realistic benefit.
It takes survivors 1/16 of their perks to completely exploit a map and break the game.
And now everything is easier because there's 2 less stalling, or chase, or endgame perks, because nobody ever gets into a match and goes "oh no, IRON GRASP! IT'S SO STRONG WE'RE LOSING BECAUSE OF IT!"

Call their bluff, open the gate yourself and then go for the blood warden play. What's the worst that could happen? Them leaving even faster should it not work out?
Seems like a pretty solid yolo strat to me. If you're really hard up start running No Way Out or Remember Me that way they just take forever to open the gates to begin with and when they or you do open the gate you've probably got a better shot at pulling off the BW. It's a good perk meant to go into endgame builds primarily. If you're fine during the early and mid game stages build for the endgame.
99ing happens because there's still something to gain. If all the survivors are safe and healthy at the gate there's no reason not to open them, you can still sit in there BMing for 2 minutes.
99ing happens because there's usually someone who's still in danger, or hooked, and 99ing gives them the chance to rescue that person and bodyblock them all the way to the gate without ever being under the time pressure of the EGC.
Walking away from the person who's in danger or hooked to go open a gate yourself isn't "calling their bluff," it's giving them all the time and space in the world to unhook and get to somewhere you won't find them, or simply leave out the other gate. It's surrendering, not actually going to a point where you may trigger Blood Warden.
The complete unreliability (although, poor word, it isn't unreliable, I can definitely rely on it to suck.) of Blood Warden isn't something that makes me want to take multiple other endgame perks JUST to try to get one terrible one to work occasionally. I'd much rather just run a decent perk in that slot.
-
I love how people think Blood Warden is a perk. It's countered every match, including by survivors who don't even know it exists, because 99ing the gates is the best move in literally every case.
Blood Warden is a 4/5/6k placeholder on the bloodweb.

Well even the competitive scene puts tones of rules etc. In place to try and balance it that bit more, they also award hooks.
But still even in a comp setting it's a bunch of tunnel and camp with NOED and that's not interesting tbh
Yeah I've been watching some of the Swish tournament going on at the moment out of boredom and they keep going on about how the competitive scene is so legit and BHVR should be actively adding stuff to facilitate it.
Like are they even watching the same matches I am? Every single match bar Blight is just down one person, camp them to second stage, come back and tunnel them when they get unhooked, then try to get an extra down or two with Noed + No Way Out.
Nothing about that is a good game or a healthy competitive scene.

I started avoiding twitchies a month or two back and it's made the whole game much more enjoyable.

I'm sorry, #3 just doesn't matter at all and shouldn't even be a point
Might not matter to you. Personally I'd be pretty disgusted if BHVR made a deal to give a lot of the playerbase's money to a person who actively supports removing the rights of people like me.

I don't understand how anyone thinks counting raw killer buffs and nerfs says anything about the state of balance.

i know this isn’t my thread but can we lock any threads that go into spiraling bullshit like this? What would you rather have a man who supports his believes and donates to people he wants or a pedophile who molested a kid during his movies and only got 15 months in jail? People treat Scott like he’s evil all because he donated to people who aren’t all anti LGBT.
If FNAF is added to the game, a significant amount of money will be going directly to this person who supports people with incredibly bigoted views. Vote how you like, but when you're funding people, you don'tget to pick and choose which of their stances you're supporting, and he has supported a LOT of people with aggressive anti-LGBT stances.
When these threads come up, of course they're going to get this stuff brought up, because we want to make it clear to anyone from BHVR reading them that we don't want our money going to someone who supports those views, and we don't want them to support him either.
You don't get to close threads just because they aren't all in support of the side you like, if anything they should be closed just for spamming when the exact same thread is already on the front page, with the exact same points being brought up including by OP. It's that sort of childish behaviour that just reinforces reasons many of us don't want more association with the FNAF fandom.

Anything which gives both self-healing, and does it faster than 32 seconds is inherently going to break the time dynamic of the game.
CoH technically takes juuust longer than that, but as soon as a second person heals at it it goes way in the other direction.
-
- The fandom of cringey children.
- DBD is a collection of some of the greatest horror icons there are, FNAF is cheap jumpscare youtuber-bait which only got popular because of a bunch of people with no personality overreacting and shrieking at anything that happened on the screen. To include it alongside real horror is disrespectful.
- Obtaining the license would be giving money to someone who supports homophobia.
- Every single skin would basically just be furries.

Yeah the community is really overreacting about this one.
A. It tells you they have it when you pick them up
B. Just walk down the stairs, it's really not a big deal
C. I know there's an infinite but they could put a hook up there, it's not the fault of the perk
It's not a bad perk don't get me wrong but if you want any value out of it you have to make entire builds or play styles around making it work and that's taking up so many of survivors resources just for a chance to wiggle off. Not worth it at all.
"jUsT wAlK dOwN tHe StAiRs"
Half of the perk's effect is literally throwing you sideways off the stairs.
-
Was it against Freddy? His black box blocks the gates briefly for sleeping survivors.
-
I wouldn't say every streamer is toxic, but in my experience there is definitely a higher rate in toxicity because people think acting like that is more entertaining. They also tend to play in larger SWF stacks as well compared to the average player which leads to many more games with far too much efficiency and coordination which gives way to having enough leeway in a game to engage in the more toxic side.
Personally for the last few months I've just decided to avoid lobbies with TTVs in them, both for the above reasons and that I don't like the idea that if I don't have a good game it could be made more public and mocked relentlessly. I've noticed that the game has been much more enjoyable and less stressful since I made that choice.
-
The emblem system is not just about your performance. As a ranking system it was also changed many times to encourage players to play in a more engagin way for both teams and essentially have a better, less toxic match in order to rank up.
As such, camping people to death prevents you going higher than a gold devout emblem and harms your malicious score as well. Iridescent Devout requires a 4k but also requires a second condition of at least 9 hooks.
-
The improved chances of rare things in the bloodweb is a flat out lie. It's been tested many, many times over.
The only benefit to prestiging is the bloody outfit, however there's been a lot of talk that there might be a rework to prestige down the line so you could also do it in the hopes that the change is good.
Personally I always prestige a character I'm levelling up because I wouldn't like to have all of the perks on them at P0 and feel like they were still somehow incomplete. Also if there IS a prestige change in the future, it would mean ~100-200 levels of wasted bloodpoints if I were then to prestige.
-
It's because oblivious survivors aren't considered to be within your terror radius, and that's what applies killer instinct. It's a bit weird seeing as there's add ons to extend the killer instinct range that don't extend your terror radius, but that's just how spaghetti code goes I guess.
-
Nope.

Yes, this is a common term players in DBD like to use. If someone is doing something which they dont like, they just call it "abuse". Of course nobody is abusing any Perks or Offerings.
Intentionally going to a place which exploits map and perk design to make you completely impossible to hook is absolutely abuse.
Bringing Boil Over is not. Exploiting that they let it through in a condition which breaks the game is.
-
Yeah I can't remember a time where a map has been reworked and actually got better. Some like Autohaven got graphically changed and are basically the same, but none are more enjoyable.
-
Furtive Chase
-
The issue is they'd just stream a game using something like Iron Grasp and Thrill of the Hunt.
Which is all well and good except that you lose 1/2 your perks for things which essentially do nothing except slow down their super OP efficient perk, and not quite reset carrying to default.
With these perks in the meta the only way to "counter" them is to essentially only have 2 perk slots for anything that gives you any benefit above the baseline when for years killers have already been hard pressed for perk space.

But that is the issue - instead of attempting to shine some light on folklore that is specifically Russian, they use some from an entire culture that spans several countries and slap it on as Russian...
Could've even put a little chain with her shack that has chicken legs, somewhere on the skin.
I think they pickde Baba Yaga because she's largely known to the rest of the world as Russian, and they were looking specifically for something Russian because Huntress is. It's unfortunate they chsoe something with more varied origins, but like I said, I don't think they gave a damn about what her lore is, they just wanted a trendy name so they could slap it on and call it a legendary skin akin to Krampus and Minotaur.
-
I agree. It's particularly bad that they clearly just made a skin and named it Baba Yaga. Almost none of her well known features are present at all.
Nothing about her is any form of duality like Huntresses mask is. She's known for riding a pot using a broom like an oar. Granted the pot would be hard to implement but at the very least they could have made her axe look more like a broom.
It's literally just a random skin and only named Baba Yaga because nobody knows other Russian monsters.
-
Why yes there is. I was watching a friend play Bubba for a daily and he had a basement hooks challenge. He used insidious to sit behind the shower wall in the bathroom, bingo bango everyone's hooked in the basement.
That's basically the only other option.
-
Sole Survivor's ranges make no sense. The only common aura reading to bring it against would be BBQ and Lethal. Lethal activates before it ever has a stack so that's irrelevant. BBQ's range is over 40m, which means Sole Survivor needs 2 stacks before it even functions, and at that point it's only effective between 40 and 48 meters. It's terrible. With 3 stacks it could theoretically be decent, but at that point the last person has already died and BBQ does the aura reading before SS gains the third stack.
-
Don't worry guys, they're "mOnItOrInG" it.
-
I think they were fine early on as they sent you to a realm and each realm had variants. Nowadays it's much closer to 1 offering for 1 map, and the majority of the time people burn them is to specifically abuse something broken about that map.
Personally I'd just love to see them gone so I can stop wasting 5000 bloodpoints every time I'm forced to take one on the web.

I think you are overestimating how good ambushing normally is when it gets beat by dropping the pallet. It is just not a good anti-loop tool. Plus, you can use an add-on to only lose one RBT in the process.
I've been a Pig main for like 4 years, I know perfectly well how good her power can be.
-
Still garbage. A decent player can still ambush without it, all it does is means your stalling is halved which absolutely cripples her.
-
I did it today with one brown medkit and one use of Built to Last. After 1 full heal there was still like 1% of the medkit left which I only realised when BtL wouldn't recharge it. So it's possible you just didn't quite use up the medkit.
-
Powers have fatigues and miss cooldowns, because if it gives you an advantage in a chase, you shouldn't be able to use it over and over until it lands. Like Demogorgon's Shred, it covers a huge distance, but if you whiff it you should lose approximately the same amount that you gained by leaping. It also serves to prevent powers being used for mobility when they aren't intended to be.
Personally I find the most satisfying powers are the ones that don't rely on survivor interaction to work. Pinhead's Chain Hunt sucks in most matches because it only works if the survivors don't keep it disabled all match. On release, Plague was awful because survivors could choose to prevent her getting corrupt ever in a match.
-
The devs work more along the lines of "make whatever we want and tack a country of origin onto it at the end."
Trickster's outfits don't represent KPOP well.
Artist is a crow-based killer from a country that doesn't have crows.
Baba Yaga skin has basically no relation to Baba Yaga, but is called that because it's the only Russian monster people know.
It's all token representation, not real consideration of the culture.

https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/TR1T6B3GDN1S/fddtrsux0agpxbw.jpg
The concept has been around as long as Pig has, I think the reason she can't have something like that is because it would make it INCREDIBLY difficult to tell at a glance that she's the killer not a survivor.
-
You have to use the offering, you get a cosmetic if someone opens yours. Interacting with your own shows it to all other players.
Essentially they're trying to make an event where one person progressing doesn't screw everyone else.
-
How is that new? People have done that since she was added. It hasn't been changed because there's no realistic way to change that without just making the traps worthless, and in doing that you may as well facecamp someone because all of the gens will be completed anyway.
-
The next unlicensed chapter. The less I spend while they're making terrible decisions, the better.
-
FNAF should not be added.
Most licenses are a moderate amount of people who want that license, and pretty much everyone else in some state of not specifically wanting it, but not against it.
FNAF is a large amount of people who want it, and a large amount of people who actively don't want it in the game.
I've never seen a license more actively despised than FNAF, and I don't believe something so polarising should be added to the game.

Surely they would make more money when people buy individual pieces instead of not buying it at all?
Often not. Many sets are really popular, like Feng's weekly linked sets among others.
Importantly, if there's a piece you would like, 7k shards is a lot, but certainly managable with regular gameplay. Many people would be more likely to grab a nice item with their shards than fork over cash. When it's a linked set, they usually either cost cells only for the lot, or a ludicrous amount of shards like 21k, which is essentially $10 when you consider you can buy a full unlicensed chapter at that price. People who want a cosmetic aren't likely to wait 6 months of grinding for it when they can just get it for cash, so BHVR gets more money.

Does that really need explanation?
You see that part between the bottom of her top and the top of her jeans? That's where the midriff goes.
Literally nobody would have questioned it if linked sets had never existed, it would frankly look fine with any other bottom.

You guys can talk about clipping isn't an issue but this is literally Kates torso with any other legs than the "set". I do agree that a lot of things don't need to be sets (like her head, for example). But there are definitely good reasons for sets.
It's not like Kate doesn't have a midriff already modeled and in the game. The only reason that piece doesn't have it is because it's linked so they didn't have to bother about putting it in where it would be hidden by what you're forced to wear it with.
God forbid someone spend an hour to cut and paste a midriff on the bottom from existing cosmetics.
