Because they honestly can't think through how to fix a perk.
On the one hand we get Boil Over which anyone could have seen was broken with a whole 5 seconds of testing, and on the other hand we have Buckle Up which shows they have absolutely 0 concept of why the perk is trash and why nobody uses it.
BHVR's balancing is them just throwing darts at a board with random words stuck to it like "Buckle Up" "Buff" "Aura," and "Twins" "Nerf" "Statistics."
-
Gonna be honest I'm pretty over Japanese ghost girls already.
There's a whole world of horror to choose from no need to have 5 Japan chapters.

This happens to me only after long loading screens, maybe once every 200+ games
If it's once in 200 games you'd only have a 5 min penalty at most, which isn't worth the effort to complain about.
-
It would be easy to abuse if it did detect the difference because you could just pull the plug.
Also, if your internet drops out frequently enough that you're getting long disconnect penalties, it means you're out there ruining games regularly for your teammates and the killer, so you're as much of a pain to have in the team as someone who rage quits.

That honestly may be the case. When NOED works the extreme snowball is ludicrous. It cannot happen every match, but the chance of turnarounds potentially happening is substantial.
It's also one of very, very few killer perks that work the way survivor perks do.
Killers have to play the game as though every survivor has DS and every survivor has BT, because if they don't then they can be severely punished for it. NOED is one of the rare cases where the perk benefits killers who don't run it because survivors have to play like it is in play in case, or be punished when it is.
-
It only counts if you press the button to pull them out of the trap, it doesn't count if you hit them in the trap, then pick them up.
-
Because if noed isn't threatening then the entire concept of dull totems breaks down and other perks like Pentimento get nerfed as a consequence.
Noed exists to make survivors want to cleanse totems, not to give killers a one hit down.

A person who plays both sides?
That's umpossible

On a serious note I find it funny how often they scream killer main when you have a killer pfp and call out a fellow survivors bs lol
It's not like we like the to play both sides and we put a killer as a pfp as we love the way they Play lol
Edit to add my survivor perks I'm currently using just in case I get the prove it comment
Iron will, prove thyself, self aware and spine chill
Exactly, and I think it's because I play killer that I don't want to bring the generic survivor perks that everyone and their dog runs and makes playing the game dull from the other side.
I only run BT to not be a burden to my team because it's others who suffer when I don't, and Iron Will just opens up options that aren't available without it. If anything I still think IW should be nerfed, but I'll use it as long as it gives me a chance to escape killers who rely on headphones more than me.
Edit: Cultured Pig pfps unite.

Typical telling of a killer who cant understand how stupid it is to play perks that are extremely situational and completely in the hands of the opponent.
Thanks, but my standard build is Bond, Detective's Hunch, Borrowed Time and Iron Will. I've played thousands of hours of solo survivor as well as SWF and killer.
-
Because in general, people are selfish. We'll Make It helps someone else much more than themselves so they don't bring it.
-
The last time they tried to make a unique killer it was Legion who had an entirely new chase mechanic.
That caused them months of headaches until they just removed their power so they didn't have to think about it any more.
Since then they haven't gone for anything game-changing.

I'm glad we have fog whisperers to tell us if a killer is good or weak. Sadako is weak? I would never have found that out on my own 😁
Oi, calm down, you aren't allowed an opinion until Otz releases a statement on what the community can think.

I don't blame them, meta perks of survivors are pretty much that.
DH is one free health state, BT is one free health state, DS is one free health state, of course something that doesn't give free health state would be trash.
I get by just fine with enjoyable perks that aren't that crutchy. Something isn't trash just because it doesn't brainlessly fix all your mistakes for you.
-
You seem to be mistaken. Don't you remember that BHVR fixed all clipping by making us buy outfits whole?
-
Really shows the general survivor attitude. When something isn't completely broken or guarantees multiple extra health states, it's "garbage."

No offence to the guy, but I take his balance opinions with a grain of salt these days. He thinks Billy and Deathslinger are both S tier in their post-nerf states, and that Twins are S tier because they stomped the competition in a tournament he was commentating on. A tournament where, if I remember correctly, COH, Unbreakable, and literally every Twins countering perk was banned.
But I do like the guy overall. Very chill compared to some other streamers.
Yes, I hear Twins are quite good when everything good against them is banned.
And they're playing on the most 3-gen-able map every single match.

Yeh a lot of them definitely should be made easier. Hopefully they change some of the harder ones soon.
Definitely. My biggest gripe is when I do really well on a killer, but it doesn't complete the daily. It's especially true on these three, Blight I suck as, so it sucks when I hit a large amount, but then fail because they were healthy not injured. Demo I land shreds that I think are max charge and don't count, and it's actively a detriment to the game because max-charge shreds aren't always a good choice compared to shorter ones.
Twins just irritates me because it means not getting downs that I could get with Charlotte, either because Victor is latched or just not out at the time.
-
The emblem system needed some work, it should have been better adapted to specific killers who don't all chase with 2 M1 hits. It also should have been lenient to survivors who were strong in 2/3 catagories rather than needing all 3, repairs, altruism and boldness.
However, it was lightyears ahead of the crap MMR system that got dumped on it, and is a much better point to build from than what we have now.
-
No thanks, forcing players to run Pentimento for 100+ games, let alone the hexes you have to run to get it to function, just on the off chance survivors ever actually decide to cleanse all 5 totems seems like a terrible idea.
Especially in a meta where hexes suck even more than usual because of boons.
-
Every time she charges and drops her power she's slowed. Every time she launches her power she's slowed.
Move to a different loop and she generally can't catch up to you, and then has to deal with cooldowns.
If she ever drops two or more crows, completely ignore her power, because now you can dispel the crow before she ever hits you with the damaging one.
Mostly, just don't run in obvious paths, as she's probably aiming crows at upcoming pallets and windows, and by avoiding them before she fires the crows, she'll lose ground in slows and not get any benefit.
-
Blight. I find him super unenjoyable to play, and I really can't be bothered going through months of hating him just to learn how to abuse
techsexploits to get to a point where he just breaks every tile. Also why is his daily 4 downs instead of 4 hits with his power?
-
- It doesn't deserve to stand alongside real horror icons. People put a lot of work into developing great franchises from the start, and putting a flash game that only existed so youtubers could overreact and squeal for views would be insulting.
- The owner is controversial and supports policies that alienate large amounts of the DBD community that BHVR are keen on supporting. Many of us do not want a chapter that gives money to someone who actively supports politicians with those policies.
- You can argue all you like for how "scary" a bunny is, but we all know from day 1 everyone's just going to be subjected to the walking furry rule 34 ensemble cast.
- Their community, as proven by the constant nagging, spamming and repetition of the exact same bullshit about the same topic, is super goddamn annoying.
- There is no depth to any of the characters that facilitates a power. Literally all anything does is run and squeal in your face, and that's meant to be a "scare."
-
God, what is this, your 3rd thread this week whining about being hit by hatchets because your ping sucks? Get over it.

That, every time it comes up, is a garbage suggestion that forgets that Killers need to be near hooks when they happen to have any kind of pressure. Not every unhook being risk-free and perfectly safe.
It's a large part of why I hate playing Pyramid Head. Wow, my whole power just avoids perks and flashlight saves that I'm already conditioned to avoid, and in return, the survivor is unhooked in roughly 3 seconds at the safest point of the map miles away from me and now cooping a gen I can't possibly reach.
-
I'd love it. So many meta perks are way overdue for nuking.
And it should somewhat even out, you weaken some of the top meta stalling perks, and suddenly the "I need 6 extra hits each game" perks are less necessary, and vice versa.
-
Boons are fundamentally broken.
People are always saying stuff like "boons are fine, it's CoH that's broken," but that's the issue, the others are fine because their effects aren't worth bringing the perk, you only see them if people are using CoH anyway.
You simply cannot make perks on the current boon system without them either being bad or broken. If they're a decent effect they work as a decent perk for 4 players with infinite uptime. It's why we're seeing crap like the new haste one, because if the haste is anywhere close to worth using, it's going to be in every match breaking every chase.
They need some fundamental counterplay that isn't like plugging a leak with your finger, then repeating every time a new leak opens up. Eventually the dam is gonna break no matter how well you plug them.
-
Jesus, why not just give survivors 5 perks for wandering into their safe zone?
-
I've thought about them before, and here's what I'd love to see:
The Angel moves at high speed (120-125%) while not being observed by survivors (similar to Ghostface's reveal but with more lenience for survivors.) While being observed, the Angel is quantum-locked and unable to move. Survivors afflicted by the blindness status cannot quantum-lock an Angel.
Multiple Angels spawn on the map (at least 5), and at any time the Angel can instantly swap between them. At most, a survivor can only quantum-lock one Angel at a time. Other Angels in line of sight will not be quantum-locked and their movement will be seen like Spirit/Sadako, stationary statues that appear to teleport every 0.5 seconds or so to where the killer has moved.
Looking at an Angel while in chase with it will cause it to be quantum-locked with its eyes uncovered. Staring the Angel in its eyes will slowly infect the survivor causing them to eventually be afflicted with the Blindness status and revealed by killer instincts.
Upon downing a survivor, the Angel can pick up the survivor, at which point they will become quantum-locked and will act as a hook in their current postion, and cannot move until the survivor is pulled from their grip, and they are no logner quantum-locked by both the unhooker and the unhooked survivor.
Obviously there'd be a lot of balancing to work out, but I think it would be really interesting to see a killer that works completely differently. The killer would be encouraged to outposition survivors in a chase using two or more Angels, forcing the survivor to quantum-lock one of them while the other comes in for the hit, or the survivor risks getting blinded and having the first Angel attack it regardless.
-
You understand that people are giving feedback for the PTB so she'll actually see changes before release. She's awful and that needs to be clear so they don't drop her as is and ruin a horror icon.
-
Considering (as far as I know) Kayako is owned by the same people as the ring, I'd expect it would be far more likely we'd see her as a skin for Sadako.
-
Because BHVR doesn't make mistakes, and removing this would be admitting an obvious oversight.
-
I'm expecting it. She's gonna have other outfits, it's a staple of licensed chapters these days, and I don't see what other options she really has as the only other "version" of her is Sadakaya, which is just Sadako in a goofy pose.
-
The extent of whether I know someone is console or not is looking at the lobby and seeing the globe symbol. By the time I'm at the loading screen I don't know who's who.
Though let's be honest, after a chase or two you can usually tell.
-
Because if we had a "final girl" for every chapter; a. we'd basically have all women because horror loves final girls, and b. they'd all be pretty much the same character. I'm pretty sure the reason they stayed away from it since Laurie is because all the final girls last til the end, fight back, and are the killer's obsession. They want more unique characters than a full cast of the same trope.
-
This is hardly new. Have you ever seen anyone play FNAF? The game may as well say "boo" and people jump out of their seat squealing and ######### themselves because that's what gets views.
-
What a terrible argument.
"Since a form of cheating has been disabled, remove a playstyle that I don't like." You know, a form of playstyle that doesn't even have anything to do with stretched res.
Also gotta have a laugh at "The best playstyle in comp." The day we start balancing around the 10 players in a discord server who think "comp" is a thing is a sad day indeed.
-
I'm pretty neutral about Scourge Hooks. I'm not a fan of ferrying survivors around hoping I can reach one, and so far the only one I'd value enough to bring is Pain Resonance. Even then it's just a different version of Pop.
Boons are, in my opinion, the worst addition to the game in the last few years. They dominate the game, dictate how the killer must play, and CoH outclasses every other healing perk they've added sincethe start, so you're literally playing the game wrong if you bring one of the others instead. It should be an option for healing, not the correct option.
Boons in general are just a terrible decision. Survivors already have so many perks over the killer that there is no need for perks which also grant extra perks to everyone on the team. Their time-dynamic was poorly calculated, and even BHVR realises at this point that they're exceptionally strong, that's why we got ones like the one in the ring chapter, because they realise if they put anything worth a damn on a boon, it breaks the game, so it has to be such a low value that it isn't worth bringing in the first place. There's really no middle ground for good boons.
-
I enjoy most of the tomes, but they definitely keep falling back on the same challenges which make them repetitive and dull at times, especially when there's feedback every time about unenjoyable challenges like "survive while other survivors escape" or "unhook someone who unhooked you earlier," yet they continue to return on every other tome level.
Personally though, the rift leaves a lot to be desired. Considering how much the game costs along with DLC just to unlock the characters, BHVR's monetisation of the store and the rift are fairly greedy already, however having the free track be so sparse is just a slap in the face to players who have already paid a lot and don't want to keep giving money.
There have also been 10 tomes now, and they've had feedback EVERY TIME that the garbage wooden-to-iridescent recoloured charms are not appreciated, and yet we're still handed this crap over and over.

I guess the "psychic" abilities? Like her carry animations or her M1 isn't a "physical" attack

Meg.
No, gross.

I would never show mercy to Claudettes, Neas or Fengs.
-
It was a really screwed up set of nerfs.
"Enduring too strong against DS, DS stun duration increased."
"Enduring too strong against Head On, Enduring only works on pallet stuns."
So DS's stun time should go back down right? Nah.
-
Of course kill rates would go up, what else do you expect from disabling the most meta survivor perk.
People are all doomsday prophecies over Sprint Burst being used, but at least Sprint Burst takes some effort and inefficiency to use to its full strength. Dead Hard is so braindead easy that every survivor gets free extra loops just for pressing e whenever it looks like they won't reach a pallet.

Any of the bright neon outfits. Especially BHVRs trademark shades of fluoro pink and blue.

ring's popularity in the west is a little exaggerated. most westerners experience with the ring is likely the 2002 movie which really wasn't that memorable.
It was an American made movie so maybe Americans were hooked on it, but here in the UK I remember all talk of the ring being very quickly replaced by the final destination movies
My experience in Australia, you say the Ring and basically anyone could tell you what it is. Growing up everyone I knew had seen it.

Of course i am, i may not have stretched res but i always keep my eyes on the killer and also i know to avoid LOS. he's just stalking and walking faster than normal speed. which is ridiculous.
It's quite likely he was using his own teachable perk, Play With Your Food, to gain movement speed. On top of that he has addons to walk faster while stalking, though they alone won't get you near normal walking speed.
-
If they blocked you, it's because they weren't having "a fun time" and wanted to give you less of an opportunity to start a conversation.
-
Because BHVR's unwillingness to balance meta perks feeds into the problem.
When you leave something broken in the game for 4 years, survivors rely on the perk and assume it will never be touched. If they do choose to balance Dead Hard at some point, the amount of crying will be astronomical, just like it was when DS got nerfed, especially because many survivors seem to believe "press e to outplay" is a really high skill play.
