  • I don't think anyone is really complaing about him. I really hope they don't nerf him, that's for sure. He seems to be in a perfect place balance wise.

30 seconds? More like 24 seconds. That's how long my ruin lasted last game. Ironically I told my gf "if my ruin goes down quickly again I'm done with hex totems and I'll switch to Corrupt Intervention".

Me, 1 game later: *picks ruin again*

Has anyone made any decent experiences with Corrupt Intervention instead of Ruin so far?

Personally I haven't gotten much use out of it yet. But I might need to try that perk a bit more. Probably is good on certain killers. Like Doc. I think one problem with Corrupt interention is that survivord can just wait until the gens aren't blocked anymore, but that won't help them against doc since he'll still guaranteed find you before Corrupt Intervention deactivates.

I agree that you shouldn't be a d*ck to anyone in an argument but his opinion can be refuted which means he can be wrong. That's the whole point of an argument. To persuade someone that you're right and they're wrong. It's not that they're not respecting his opinion, they're just refuting him of something that can be proven. Saying Nurse is the best killer is fact, not an opinion.

Yes to a certain extent. Of course I'm not going to go into any analysing but in some cases it's very hard to call something an absolute fact when talking about a game's balance. But to an extent, I do agree. Even then, people are still allowed to think what they want. It's just a game in the end. The devs are the ones who then need to make the right decision, trying to figure out what exactly can be seen as a fact when it comes to balance.

His whole diet consists of fibre rather than chili at this point haha. He'll always be my main and I'm still glad I put thousands of hours into him allowing me to see every single opportunity to use his chainsaw but (at least) some addon fixes would be appreciated.

Do you do generally well with him at rank 1? I'm just curious.

Trapper, Clown, Legion, Cannibal, Wraith and Doctor need buffs very badly, they are very underwhelming even with their best add-ons.

Ghost Face, Pig, Shape and Plague could use some buffs, but they aren't as weak as the first line of killers.

Freddy needs his add-ons buffed ( almost all of his green and purple add-ons are atrocious ) and Huntress needs ... to not get [BAD WORD] by so many maps.

Hag, Billy and Spirit are fine for the most part ( even if Hag's purple and red add-ons could be buffed/reworked and Prayer Beads should be nerfed/reworked ).

    Nurse will get touched soon.

I mean, Ghost Face, Pig, Shape and Plague will be receiving buffs indirectly with the map reworks, which is why I said that they probably don't need individual buffs. The other ones will also get buffed be the reworked maps, so they won't need any big buffs in my opinion.

  • @grtf47 said:

@immortalls96 True but every game you play isnt against a swf right? If it was then I would agree something needs to be done but some games are against randoms and its not every game that you ditch a a loper to come to a gen that almost done or something like that.

To be fair, it seems like the devs want to buff solo survivors to decrease the gap between solo and swf survivors. I do think that solo survivors can still do pretty much as good as swf survivors, but it's much harder and probably also takes a bit of luck. So that definitely needs to be considered as well, and I'm hoping that there will be some fair buffs for solo survivors to close that gap.

None of you are getting it.

Siding with the OP here, new players going against a semi competent killer running Hexes can be overwhelming, alienating, and feel insurmountable.

That’s the point here. How awful they are to deal with as a new survivor.

New survivors, particularly fans of Stranger Things, frequently going against Ruin or NOED are probably going to very quickly abandon this game.

Possibly, but isn't it also possible that new players will go against other new players? I'm guessing some new players will also want to play killer.

Which Hex perks exactly would be overwhelming for ne players though? They are just perks in the end but with strong effects, but I don't think that new players will find it impossible to find totems. And these perks have the same effects at lower ranks as they have at higher ranks.

Hex: Ruin is the exception, which has an effect that is stronger against newer players than against experienced survivors, since the difference between hitting good and great skill checks is big, unlike with normal skill checks, where the difference between hitting a good or a great skill check isn't very big at all. That perk should probably have a lesser difference between good and great skill checks.

I think legion could use a few, simple buffs to make them feel less sluggish and give them a little more power:

    • In frenzy, change window vault speed to 0.9 (down from 1.1).
    • In frenzy, change pallet vault speed to 1.1 (down from 1.35).
    • In frenzy, increase movement speed to 5.28 m/s (from 5 m/s).
    • Reduce fatigue time to 3 seconds (down from 4).

Just make sure that the cooldown addons can't be combined to create an instant fatigue. These changes would make legion much more fun to play, still have counter play, and might make using their power to catch up to injured survivors a viable strategy in some cases.

Those buffs could definitely work. I would prefer a smaller terror radius instead of increased window and pallet vault, but that's just me.

There is virtually no way to prove that a killer is viable - just saying. People can always say "but those were bad survivors" to nullify footage.

    Anyways:

I agree that Leatherface needs: Small QoL buffs and (obviously) addon fixes/changes/buffs.

His only "specific" purple addon (AwardWinningChilli) is weaker than ANY brown addon of ANY killer in the game even though purple addons are supposed to be game-changing.

    Bubba's purple: AwardWinningChilli

(one of) Spirit's purple: Prayer Beads

Spirit's basekit has little to no counterplay and on top of that her purple addons are game changing. How is that fair towards Bubba?

Many people can do well with Bubba and 4k most of the time but that doesn't mean he and his addons are perfectly fine.

Yes I fully agree. Though it's also not quite possible to prove that a killer isn't viable against optimal survivors. Or if it is, it's damn hard. But when looking at stronger killers, the lower tier killers do seem like they are lacking a bit. Just from looking at their capabilities.

  • @Mtom912 said:

LF - Make his chainsaw decent for something beside camping, make the charge a similar to Billy’s, so it doesn’t just cancel when you stop charging, and make his movement speed when charging slightly faster, not as fast as billy though cause his chainsaw is way easier to hit so it doesn’t need to be as fast as him

Only thing I fear with a buff like that is that it will make him too strong at lower ranks. At least as far as I know he does exceptionally well at lower ranks. So a buff to his chainsaw would probably only work if the skill required to use his chainsaw most effectively would also be increased.

  • @grtf47 said:

@ad19970 I guess doctor could use a little buff. Didn't mean to disrupt the conversation but thats really me perspective on things, most killers seem fine just a few possible changes but remember, just my opinion, sorry @Haraak didnt mean to make you anger.

It's your opinion though, you don't need to apologize for someone not liking your opinion honestly. This is just a game we are talking about in the end, anyways.

  • @grtf47 said:

@ad19970 I understand. I have mained survivor for a while and have seen my fare share of games and have seen a lot of killers and their abilities being used.

Understandable. But you do also play killer? Just because I do feel like it's important to play both sides or at least get a deep insight on how killers work by watching others play them quite optimally against very good survivors.

Also, your point on buffing killers will also make them stronger at low ranks is also always a point to consider, I agree. The best to do is to buff these killers than in a way that requires to use skill to use them most effectively, which is probably always something the devs struggle with a lot. That's why I also have no idea on how to buff Leatherface, cause just buffing his power I feel would make him just too good at lower ranks.

Its amazing how you talk like knowing something and you just say one stupid thing after another lol.

Ignoring the troll, for me every killer need a buff except nurse billi spirit hag and maybe huntress. You can argue about freddie and mayers being well balanced and maybe we can get an agreement.

No need to get insulting though, please. Eeveryone is allowed to have their own opinion based on their experience with this game.

  • @grtf47 said:

@Predator3174PL A small nerf to the chainsaw would be great. Yes he is loud but thats not a huge issue and wont make or break an escape by the survivors. He can consistently rev his chainsaw and down multiple survivors at once. 360 him is not easy or you must be very good because after a year of playing I cant easily 360 him.

But he can't really instadown you when you are at a loop. If anything, you can loop him and then force an M1 hit against you. Which is why many people don't consider him op. if anything, I'd rather consider Spirit op than Billy, though I feel like she is in a fine spot as well balance wise, just the counterplay to her seems a bit to luck based maybe.

  • @grtf47 said:

@ad19970 Yea man, buffing a killer can make it really hard for noob players to play against them. I acknowledge that some killers are harder to use but each one has a different play style and it is important to learn that play style before asking for a specific buff.

Sure, but I don't need to learn to play a killer perfectly optimal in order to judge what the killer's potential is. I mean it can also help if you watch others play them more or less optimally, and just by knowing the game, all the factors that can affect a matches outcome, and the capabilities of a killer with his abilities. Of course, you can't know everything for certain, once again, and when I say judging, I don't mean I know for a fact, just being able to form an opinion on what killer could possibly need a buff in my opinion.

Stealth Killers like Wraith, Pig, and GhostFace are getting a pretty big buff with the undetectable status effect being implemented soon so we should wait and see how strong they get. I'd say Doctor really needs a rework the most since he's hands down the worst killer at the moment. He's the easiest to loop when using his ability and there's no point in knowing where the survivors are most of the time since he's just an m1 killer that wastes time shocking just for the bp. I think his ability needs a rework completely, kind of like Freddy. Just increasing his shock range or illusions isn't going to solve anything but I can't think of any suggestions atm.

To be fair that doesn't really work if every survivor is really good at looping. Which is what I personally mean with an optimal team. There is however a chance to catch survivors in bad positions though, especially with stealthy killers.

Quite possibly. Many people don't enjoy playing against him, which is weird to me though since I really enjoy going against him. I just fear that if he gets reworked, it will take quite a while. Which to me personally is a bit of a shame since design wise, especially visually and lore wise, he is one of my favorites. Just the idea that he drives survivors mad in addition to killing them I really like about him. Lore wise, he almost seems like the strongest killer in the game to me.

  • @grtf47 said:

@ad19970 Its hard to discuss when you say optimal survivors because the killer can have add ons, so can the survivors and there are many possibilities. I am rank 2 and some days I escape a lot and some days I die consecutively while in a swf.

That's true. There is quite a lot of rng that can affect the outcome of every match. I'm not saying that what I wrote is a fact, it's just my opinion. It's almost impossible to say exactly what could need a buff or not. Just, in general, if killers and survivors use similarly strong addons, those are the killers I feel could use some small buffs. Of course it will vary what addons exactly a killer and a survivor uses.

  • @grtf47 said:

@SleepyWillo THANK YOU, the game is supposed to be difficult at some point, this author listed like every killer and wants a buff when all yu need to do is play the killer and git gud. lol.

No that's not the case. From my experience and observation of the killers, there are just some that don't have the capabilities to cope with optimal survivor teams, to at least be able to have a chance to get a 2k.

  • Pretty sure there can be people who play killer as well and still feel like no killer needs a buff. If that's their opinion from their experience and observation of what every killer is capable of, that's fine.

  • @SleepyWillo said:

Didn't the devs say that they want a 2 escape rate and that most killers were getting more than that. And those stats were before the healing nerf and egc and hatch closing?

Wouldn't that mean certain killers should be nerfed?

At what point can we stop saying "buff this killer, buff that killer, nerf survivors, etc" and start saying "git gud"? Red ranks are supposed to be more difficult. Not auto 4k just for loading in smh...

I'm not wanting buffs for killers because I lose as them. But just looking at their capabilities, and from my observations and experience, I do feel like some killers need some small buffs personally. It's also not like the buffs I suggested are particularly big buffs anyways. And nobody wants an auto 4k. It's just about having more killers that have a chance to get a 2k against optimal survivor teams, and at rare times even a 3k or 4k, just as much as survivor should also have a chance to be able to all escape an optimal killer.

I do think that just looking at the survival rate to judge the game's balance isn't the right thing to do, since dc's and survivor killing themselves on the hook affect those stats a lot.

  • I would so love to see the maps becoming darker. As long as it doesn't make finding survivors much harder. I wouldn't mind if maps were generally as bright as they are now for killer, but definitely darker for survivors.

  • I mean imagine a 20% chance to unhook yourself. And you've always got 3 tries. It really shouldn't be higher than 4%.

  • I think Ruin is the main contender. It would be nice if it's effect wouldn't be so much greater against low ranks survivors than it is against high rank survivors. Decreasing the regression of good skill checks to 4% or 3%, and then adding a 1% or 2% regression to great skill checks would probably do that, but I feel like many people wouldn't be happy with that either.

I don't mind the idea of Hex Perks in general. It's like having a small 2nd objective for survivors, having to find that Hex Totem to remove the strong effect of the Hex Perk.

Hopefully map reworks will come faster than 2 a year, it’d make things a lot easier.

I mean I've got my fingers crossed that there will be some this patch. I think Haddonfield was planned next after the Badham maps? But I would also just love to see if they somehow changed the rng so that more mindgameable loops would appear on the Autowrecker heaven maps and Coldwind farm maps. Of course I don't know, but I feel like that couldn't take too long to do. At the very least rework the insane window loops on maps like mother's dwelling, Ironworks or Torment Creek. That should be easy.

It's a much better way to buff weaker killers than extending objective time since it only really buffs them and not the stronger killers, since they don't rely on mindgaming survivors on loops.

  • @GrootDude said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/657914#Comment_657914

They wouldn’t have been helpless though, people have to choose a side to defend on big maps like this, preferably the side without the killer shack and then cut chase if it last too long.

I mean I'd say that's true to a certain extent. In my opinion that's not great design though and those kind of maps do need some kind of improvements. Maybe the swamp maps treatement. Those have been reduced in size and now feel much more balanced.

Thing is, if you only stay on one side all game, than survivors, once they get hit, can just always run to the other side of the map, since all the pallets will be there. The killer will not follow them, and then the game will just turn into a stalemate more or less. That's of course not for any of the more powerful killers, but some of the weaker ones.

I don't know, but I do feel like the lower tier killers need some kind of small buffs to have a bit more of a chance to do chases fast enough and also be able to apply enough map pressure. Maybe the map reworks will help in this case, but for killers like Clown or Wraith, I do feel like they could use just some small buffs.

  • @Crazewtboy said:

I don't really like the way they did Badham. Only one variation one needed, not five of them. I do agree, the Temple and Shelter Woods should definitely be looked at. As much as I love Haddonfield, they do need to fix that god-forsaken window loop in the Myers house. That is my only complaint.

There are also those long window loops one some fences if you have bad rng as killer. All you can do there is run around the loops until the entity blocks them off. Those also need some serious changes. Otherwise the map would be fine, probably.

I do like that there are mutliple variations of Badham personally, especially since those maps are now some of the most balanced with the amount of mindgameable loops there are, although that can also still be a factor of rng. Pretty sure though the devs have said that they want to create multiple versions of Haddonfield. Maybe I am mistaking though.

No details but it's an attempt to buff solos to swf status which will also unavoidably empower even swf even if only a little , also what I mentioned earlier was they once made nurse stunnable during blink which made her get stunned and then fatigue..it killed her with just that change..I'd rather not see her die off when this game owes her its survival

Ok. Do you know when the devs mentioned this that they want to buff solo survivors? I'm asking cause it seems like it's being brought up quite often the last days but I haven't heard of anything that says they want to buff solo survivors.

He didn't need Ruin or Corrupt Intervention to get a decent amount of time. Like I said earlier, the reason why he got gen rushed was because he kept missing the Claud with his m1 too much and yet he kept committing. If he just left her and defended the gens, it would've bought him some time. Not sure how Ruin wouldn't have helped in this situation as survivors are forced to hit great skill checks that don't give a bonus to gen progression, which is also pretty difficult to hit consistently so they're prone to f*ck up a few times. Also, someone would have to cleanse the Ruin to get rid of the effect which means they're not on a gen for the time being. Overall, this is a Nurse we're talking about. She's the best killer in the game for a reason so if he's struggling to even land a hit with megablink addons for that long and have 3 gens done in 2 minutes, then he's definitely doing something wrong.

I think the main point of many is that if this would have been a much weaker killer than Nurse, than playing optimally could possibly still result in these gens being done so fast. Killers like Wraith, who aren't very strong in chases, or Clown, who has awful map pressure, would maybe be quite helpless in these situations.

  • @immortalls96 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/657675#Comment_657675

Nurse already is very hard to control..has a stun every time she moves , and maps can sometimes dead zone herxwasting a lot of time..just because shes getting addon reworks does not mean it's time to gut her when survivors are planned to be buffed massively, I know I for one would raise hell if they did it because that's bs

What exactly are the planned buffs for survivors? Or haven't their been any details yet?

  • @immortalls96 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/657148#Comment_657148

Even the smallest detriment to nurses base kit will kill her..the devs already expect killers to never make mistakes apparently..they tried making pallets affect her blinks and that alone destroyed her..they cannot touch her base kit..especially when survivors are about to get massively buffed...its not right

Pallets affecting her blinks destroyed her? In what way?

I mean you may be right, I don't know. But I personally don't believe that small adjustments to her base kit would kill her. They'd probably just need some getting used to.

  • Surveillance could actually be really good on him if I think about it. Knowing where to teleport to when a survivor touches a regressing gen, could be good. And with him getting the Undetectable status effect for a few seconds after he teleports, he could catch survivors off guard really nicely.

  • I mean I personally appreciate them giving me more options to slow down the game if I struggle with map pressure. Which I personally do, since I like to go for chases and commit to them.

  • @Zagrid said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/657058#Comment_657058

They end the game in 3 mins because they have the power to. The nurse not doing anything allowed it to happen, but it can still happen against any killer. The question is should be happen?

And with the weaker killers and bad map design, 100% agree. But some maps have been left in their sorry, unbalanced, and broken state for years. Haddonfield, rancid aborator, which they said the fixed and they accidentally created an near infinite.

Point there is the amount of maps that need fixing are many, and if they are releasing 2 map reworks this year and like... 8 need reworking, thats 4 years to fix every map.

But that is an issue for another time, many issue brought up here is should the survivors have the power to end the game in less than 3 min?

I don't quite get it. Are you saying that survivors shouldn't be able to get ahead if the killers makes these kind of mistakes? That doesn't make sense. If a killer has the potential to do better and defend the gens before they all get repaired, than they should of course use that potential and get punished if they don't. They shouldn't be able to mess up and then still be able to win easily. If killers don't have the power to combat the gens being repaired, than they should be buffed individually, if they need those buffs after the map reworks.

Plus with Nurse, at least I believe so, he still would have had the chance to make a comeback anyway, even with the survivors playing optimally, and even if the Claudette wouldn't have messed up and get caught in the basement after he hooked the other survivor in the basement. Which is why I am happy she is getting some adjustments.

So camp the hook and the 3 nearby gens? Great. That'll lead to happy messages

I mean if that's the way to go on that map? If that already is a viable strategy, just imagine how that strategy would become if the objective time was increased. It would end up being op.

  • @BBQnDemogorgon said:

So a 2 minute chase = 3 gens and thats not a problem?

You can't pressure more than 1 survivor if you can't get a down in 2 minutes.

If you're in a chase with a good survivor and can't down them in 2 minutes then you might say go to another survivor thats on a gen to pressure them and get them off.

Well what if the survivor you just broke a chase to pressure is as good and can do a 2 minute chase?

You're in an even worse position for trying to pressure the gens and the person you left hopped on one.

Perhaps if you can't down a survivor within 2 minutes you deserve to lose that match. You either got outplayed by the survivors heavily or were just victom to awful map design and rng and were playing one of the weaker killers. But that will be adressed with upcoming map reworks, and if that's not enough for the weak killers than they can be buffed a bit individually.

  • @Zagrid said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/657024#Comment_657024

So the shear fact that survivors have the power to end a game in 3 mins is fine, taking into consideration most queues for killers at that rank is double, triple, sometimes even longer than that?

So if the killer either has a bad spawn, guesses wrong 1 time where survivors could be, or literally doesn't have the power to take away pressure from the gens for those 90 seconds or so, they just lose?

Welp, you guessed where people were wrong, I guess you lost the game.

I will say however 95% of games aren't like this, but those 5% really do show that in a competitive situation, all of the power is in the survivors hands and very little is in the killers, the so called "power role".

But they end the game in 3 minutes because of the mistakes he makes with Nurse. Sure weaker killers might need almost as long as that if the map rng is bad for them, and can't pressure gens nearly as well if they don't have any ability to close large distances fast enough, but even then that's just a problem of map design which is already going to get adressed in the future. Or a problem of low tier killers, but if so they would just need to be buffed individually, and probably not by much once we've got map reworks.

  • @Star99er said:

They have to be really careful about buffing him because I’m sure if they aren’t careful he’ll just be a more viable hook camper. They need to find a way to buff him while making less effective a hook camping.

They also need to be careful because they need to find some way to buff him in a way that takes more skill to use him. As far as I know he already is very strong at low ranks, so just buffing his power seems like the wrong way to do it. I wouldn't know how to buff him though. Not at all. I feel like this is a particularly tough one for the devs. He might be fine though once all maps are reworked that need reworking, when there are more mindgameable loops, thanks to his instadown ability.

He didn't leave the basement area once until the end of the game.

Hes playing nurse with the strongest build and lost the first person he started chasing who he found in the basement, this is by far the worst video to use as an example.

It's not a good example, that's true. But he hooks one survivor, than finds the second survivor in that basement for some reason. He blinks out of it, to go towards where the generators got repaired, and then returns to the basement as soon as he sees that the survivors in the basement are getting unhooked. That isn't really camping to me, and it happens after the 3 gens pop.

I agree that it doesn't prove gen times are too fast though. It's just very hard to imagine that a low tier killer would have had any chance in that situation, with how large the map is, and how, if you are unlucky, the map can have some very safe pallet loops which weaker killers would have to deal with without being able to end the chase quick enough. Which probably is the main problem for many people. Weaker killers not having the tools to cope with gens going fast.

  • @ArrowTheGreat11 said:

If y’all want second objectives, they’ll have to nerf all killers dramatically. It would be a 4K every single game if survivors had to do gens along with something else, while worrying about a killer. Gen times would have to be significantly decreased too

Exactly. All the killers that are already powerful would become way overpowered. It's just easier to buff the weak killers in that case.

  • @Peanits said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/656512#Comment_656512

It's definitely way more than a mistake. Any time you blink and miss, you made a mistake. A small mistake, but it's a mistake. You can't disregard them. If you do, that's saying, "There is nothing I could have done better here." and that's not true. When you then lose that survivor at the start of the match, that's a bigger mistake. Everything at the start of the match is magnified. You need to get that pressure up ASAP.

That's not to say anything about the killer. We all make mistakes, we all have bad matches. I have my fair share as well, there's no shame in admitting it. In the same way the survivors can make a mistake and turn a good situation into a bad one in a matter of seconds, the same can happen to the killer.

You cannot expect the survivors to not do generators just because you messed up. Having the game tell you, "No, you can't do the objective yet." would be unreasonable.

I mean, I wouldn't call every missed blink a mistake though. Survivors do have some counterplay to her blinks, at least as long as they can break line of sight. It's not a lot of counterplay of course though, which is why I am happy she is getting some adjustments.

But I feel like that's abit like saying a killer hitting a survivor on a mindgameable loop happens only because the survivor made a mistake, and a survivor who doesn't make mistakes can't be catched.

Not that I disagree that he messed up too many times, got outplayed and simply suffered because of that, which of course should happen in a balanced game.

As long as they don't mess with her base, I don't care what they do to the addons.

Well, removing the multi blink addons would be preferable. Bare minimum make the +1 blink addon ultra rare.

I wouldn't count on them not changing her base kit at all, otherwise they'll be forced to make all addons quite weak, even ultra rares, as it seems like any strong addon makes her op. Which is only logical if she is already really strong without addons. Then there's not much room to make addons good without making her op.

With both having amazing map pressure and being able to ignore the defenses survivors have, I wouldn't mind a small nerf to her base power. Don't think that will make her unviable or even not make her the best killer in the game. I could imagine a small decrease in blink range or speed.

  • Pretty sure they said that they are working on it, seems to be complicated to fix though for whatever reason.

  • Do survivors really lose their items when a killer dc's? I thought it counts as surviving. At least it seriously should.

It's not about how often something happens. It's about what is possible with a decent team. You don't balance around noobs. You balance around the best. Also, he was playing Nurse. And yes, he messed up a little bit at the beginning. But keep in mind, with any other killer than nurse, it would have taken much longer to down them in the first place, which would made it impossible to even get 4 hooks before all gens pop

But Dead by Daylight isn't a competitive game like Overwatch for example. It can't just be balanced around the best. That would cause some serious problems for this game. You can't just ignore people who play at lower ranks. Especially since survival rate drops the lower you get in ranks.

Also, it depends on the loops on that side of the map whether weaker killers would have had a harder time downing that survivor. If anything, it's a flaw of the map design that doesn't allow weaker killers to apply enough map pressure to have any chance of defending those gens while also downing survivors fast enough. Or because the low tier killers are considered low tier for a reason, and could use some small individual buffs, preferably that help them in chase or map pressure, whatever they lack.

he didn't struggle, he camped and suffered. He doesn't even go into the second part of the map, had he not had a mori he'd have probably stayed in that half of the map and they'd have three gened themselves anyway.

When in the video does he camp? Even if you want to call that camping, it happens after the three gens popping. I agree that he played bad, but for me it's hard to imagine that a low tier killer with weak chasing potential or map pressure would have had any reasonable chance to down a survivor fast enough and be able to defend those generators in my opinion, even just one of them, since it takes time to get from one end to the other on this map with most killers. A problem caused by the map design of course.

Good point, he definitely isn't up to par with Nurse (no offense against tru) but assuming M1 killers on average deal with 60 second chases (30 secs per hit), then what?

Is there something I'm missing here? All I'm seeing is his Nurse has the chase potential of a M1 killer (again no offense to True, we all have bad games), and if M1 killers struggle, then what do you do against gen-rush? I'm not trying to ignore anything, I genuinely don't see how an M1 killer is supposed to deal with a hardcore survivor group as seen in the video.

I'd argue it's the map if anything. Even if he downed a survivor very fast with a killer who can't close distances fast, like Clown or Leatherface, it would have been very hard to defend gens because the gens are so far away from each other. Azarov's Resting place is just a weird designed map with it's two bigger areas being spread out so far and connected by one long narrow area. It definitely needs some reworking. Of course weaker killers also sometimes depend on the loops that spawn a bit whether they can down survivors fast enough or not.

The survivors also spawned lucky. If he would have found those two survivors who worked on that one gen that got repaired first, he could have definitely stalled the game. Just an example of how rng can have an greater effect on the outcome of a match than many believe. But once again it's also the map. The reason I hate playing on Azarov's Resting place.

Survivors are getting kindred as baseline?

I think his point has little basis, if any at all.

Some killers you're good with, some you're bad with, sometimes you're not good with any of them.

Thaznar literally said earlier he want's to "roleplay" as Myers

"it's the quality of the gameplay and matches. I'd love to play as immersed Myers to give survivors a scare once or twice and roleplay a little bit but I can't. That is the problem and issue most killers have. It's not about getting kills but survivors who do not even have to try to survive in a horror game."

he wants to basically mess about in a match and still have enough time to get all the kills, he wants to have his cake and eat it, too.

You win some, you lose some.

Peanits said somewhere recently that the weakest killer on the weakest killer maps has a 43% kill rate, that sounds pretty low but it only goes up from there, that is the lowest kill percentage they have. Separately, the average for surviving is 43% across rank one of all killers, the game is in a good place imo, some map and major building changes need to be addressed, as well as some funky hit boxes even on good pings and we're golden imo.

Well maybe he meant it differently. I don't know anymore. Obviously I agree that you can't win matches against good survivors if you are just messing around, otherwise the game balance would be quite bad. But I had the feeling it's just about weaker killers needing some help to be viable against optimal survivors.

Personally, I wouldn't base balancing too much on the survival statistics, just because survivors that dc or kill themselves on the hook can often run a possible 2, 3 or 4 man escape into a 0 man escape. Killers can dc as well, but they mostly only dc because they probably would have lost anyways. Not in all cases of course. Survivors do that to, but I've also seen many that dc or killer themselves on the hook after their first down, at which point the match could have still gone either way.

But I agree, all the game probably needs are map reworks, which we are getting anyways. I do think that the low tier killers, at least Legion, Leatherface, Doctor, Clown, Wraith and Trapper could use some small buffs in addition, but nothing more. At least as of now.
