I'm tempting of maybe uploading some gameplay of my own for the new Clown, I have to do it off PlayStation since I don't have the proper recording/streaming setup yet.
you don't have a nvidia gpu?

I mastered nurse a little over four months ago and I went from rank 1 to rank 8 before I even started to grasp her. That doesn't include any rank reset. I’m now a perk less and add on less nurse sitting in rank 1-2 winning at least 90% of my games, because survivors are very predictable when you’ve been outplayed the same move over 100 times.
My advice, watch tofu video on how to play nurse. It helped me tremendously! After that endure the pain of t bags, clicking lights, after chat abuse and little to no deaths and keep going. Eventually it will click how to play her and you will win, you will keep winning and all those miserable games will be a distant memory.
finally, thank you for posting. This reminded me how I felt starting out as nurse and it’s nice to see I wasn’t alone 😀
they have nerfed her more since that guide. his lunges are faster/longer.

99.99% purple with potato survivors.
oh and a couple of happy little accidents when using the yellow to traverse the map.

I think he was being facetious and just mocking bhvr.
I have a launch ps4 and see no difference from release to now.
This being said i play on pc over 100 fps so anything 30 and under is clear as day to me (ps4 is clearly in the 20's or less)

@Pulsar said:
Trust me, it's about 100x worse on Console.
Nurse legitimately makes me motion sick AND she sucks to play on 20 FPS.
But the dev's optimized the game by waiting for updated consoles to come out. Don't you have a ps5?

I’ve never once encountered that skin for him sadly in game. Everyone uses the default. But yes, I would prefer shirtless than a hospital gown. Reminds me too much of a moo moo.
It can't be earned with shards so it will be rare.
Killers can't even see their skins so why bother spending money on them? This is probably why there are 3298547893257892357923789023 survivor skins vs what... 30 real killer skins, not just recolours.

This is true of all killers, which is disgusting really but what can you do. It's why stealht doesn't work, because all the sweaty killers are playing at zero detail, stretched rez, uber bright, etc. I even play the game dark at high detail because I like the mood of it. BHVR been making all the maps too bright it's annoying.
yeah, but nurse gets an extra benefit from it since it essentially eliminates the darkened borders of the screen when she blinks.
-
the "good" ones are all using stretched res and have the brightest screens they can make using the nvidia filter.
Basically good ones are cheating and average / bad ones are not.
I was looking for nurse gameplay on twitch to see if anyone else was having the issues you describe (hits just phasing through survivors or the lunge just follows them at the same speed) and all the ones i found had stretched res and bright colours with gamma turned up.

the new updates has also had a positive effect on the performance of the game on all platforms
I absolutely disagree with that sentence.
I still consistently encounter FPS drops (big FPS drops and smaller ones) every game on PS4.
Shh you are you are ment to believe they optimized the game by buying a ps5.

And thats who's fault? Def not the peoppe playing it. I know its not a new strategy. It's always been done. The difference is I see it much more often. Before I would see it once here and there. Now I see it everyday multiple times. I got 3 in a row. Killers have become desperate they now tunnel first hook to gurantee a 4k. Didnt the devs say 2 kills is considered a win? I've gotten almost 30k without a kill. Everyone wants a 4k so bad.
Survivors cried about ruin / undying combo so the devs nerfed it.
So yeah.. it is survivors fault.

Such a shame a perk that encouraged the killer to roam the map and pressure gens was nerfed into the ground huh?

it is up to the parents to do their job.
no company should be held responsible for the failings of the parent and no laws or government intervention should or needs to happen.
We have ratings for a reason, if the parents suck, too bad.

Because while 360ing is not that effective at lunge hits, it is still more useful while dodging hatchet hits, billy's chainsaw, oni's hits and some other stuff but guess what? If the killer is really good then they can hit anyway. The turning changes affect more than just spinning. It makes survivor movement way less smooth and just more sluggish in general.
It's skill based gameplay on both sides so it should stay. BHVR has already been driving away their veteran survivor players by releasing killers with little to no skillful counters (biggest example is deathslinger), this is just going to make more people leave. If most veteran survivor players are saying the changes are bad, then they are bad. They know the game way more than BHVR at this point.
old veteran players said infinites were good so.. should we have listened to them?
Usually followed up with its the killers fault for not getting them before they reached it and just chase someone else.

Probably because I didn't play her prior to the rework. That and I know better how Survivors move, so she doesn't seem as oppressively hard to control now. I can judge Blinks better than before.
I don't see her much though. Used to be a reasonably common Killer to face in Purple Ranks and up, but there don't seem to be as many people playing her as usual. See a lot of Trappers, Freddys, and a fair mix of Onis, Blights, and Pigs.
She is the slowest killer in the game with blinks.
I did a test on ormond and it took 30 seconds to cross with nurse and 24 seconds with deathslinger.

@Mringasa said:
I hate playing the Nurse, but for some reason she feels better after the rework.
Not sure why, but it feels like I can control her better and have better aim. Might just be a placebo because I ran her to lv35 for the Perks I wanted, and stopped there a couple years back. Been a long time since I played her, but with the new Tome had to break her out, and I'm finding her easier to play.
How is slower blinks, darker edges and shorter lunges with no addon variety better?
I use to play her base kit with nothing to farm bp for my other killers and survivors and she was 1000 times better and less buggy with more reliable controls

@WiiFitTrainer said:
This probably isn't new to a lot of you but I thought I would share my first real night of playing nurse even though I have a lot of hours in the game as whole. So a bit of a rant.
So with the new tome I figured I would give nurse a try. I havnt really played her at all and thought this would be a good time to pick her up.
I figured all the complaints about her were overblown. Oh boy was I wrong.
Blinking is so inconsistent. Sometimes I'll end up a floor above or below me without me looking up or down.
Sometimes I'll just stop mid blink on a rock. Like #########? I can teleport through entire buildings but not a 3 foot rock?
Attacking after a blink seems to pull me towards nearby objects A LOT more than with other killers.
After blinking I sometines can't attack. Before fatigue has activated its like my mouse clicks won't register and I simply eat the fatigue.
Lunges seem to be incredibly short, but that might just be my inexperience with her.
Dead hard. Oh man is it depressing to finally land a perfect blink only for dead hard to "lol no hit for u" and restart the chase all over again.
It's no wonder you hardly ever see nurses anymore. It's way to frustrating. I don't think I'll be picking her up again after her challenges are done.
She use to have a normal lunge but they stealth nerfed it because survi ors kept complaining and still do complain about her having elastic arms.
It seems they have also given her her own "aim dressing" that is attracted to obstacles more than survivors and seems to remember them if you pass over it while lunging.
Can't count how many times i glanced at a wall while a survivor did a 360 and hit it while staring out into the open.
-
@gendoss said:
It's actually the best time to play nurse right now. The hitboxes are so messed up you can hit a survivor from much farther away. You don't need to be super accurate with your blinks at this moment.
Only if your ping is bad...

No thanks.
I don't want to go back to MLGA abuse.

Nah, there's not THAT many god pallet on that map, there's 2 (or maybe even 3) VERY obnoxious case of very long loop (one near the Saw1 room that was showcased in the clip, the other on a corner around a stair) with not one but TWO god palettes on them, but other than that, it's not that bad, especially on the first floor (the ground level is where all the pallets are).
Also, will that clip is very bad as face value, it also means that the basement is now almost empty of pallets and will be easier hunting ground from now on.
The real problem for me on that map are thos new breakable doors, they are just... well the worst frankly.
As a killer they will increase the hook distance by a stupid amount and make patrolling the gens on the ground level the worst pathfinding game ever, and as survivor, you often end up in a dead end because turns out, following the flow of the map just lead you on a breakable door.
Tbh, I haven't found a single good game design reason for thos breakable walls. At best they act as pre-droped palette near a window that you'll have to break when you come near to them if you dont want to have your futur chase totally butchered (like in the Silent Hill map), at worst they will completely destroy the overall flow of the map and make them totally unintuitive to navigate like in The Game, and in some cases they are just a trap for newby killers and should never be touched (like in the Coal Tower or in the preschool of Badham).
So I'm asking you this question: What was the idea behind thos wall-pallets?!
so they can justify putting infinites in the game and just give survivors free escapes at the start while the killer is dealing with the walls.
they need to ditch the idea all together. it does not add anything to the game because it is poorly designed.
the game should start fully open and require survivors to set up instead of the killer to break down since survivors have all the free time while the killer has none.
-
They want her dead and buried like hillbilly.
Then they complain about lack of variety at red ranks lol!
-
they nerfed more then what you are saying.
they put a hard 90 degree cap on his charge turn. I use to be able to 360 on the top of the hills pre nerf.
They put a stupid roar to hand hold survivors and make it so they can look forward and still juke him
his fov got reduced and the camera shoved forward to create a huge blind spot so rank 20s can 360 him Old billy could see the full head of the sledge and the handle while walking. Nerfed billy can only see the top of the sledge and it blocks his fov in that corner.
he moves weird and the camera sways . You need to fight the camera after every chainsaw or you end up looking at the sky.
They even nerfed his nerfed addons because survivors complained and made apex muffler ultra rare from i think.. green? because survivors demanded it.

This is the best Nurse runner I know. He drives me nuts. Luckily I didn't make this montage but he's made me look like an idiot plenty of times. Note that he doesn't make one move. It's a series of moves and his movement is very fluid/snappy. There's usually never any telegraph on it. LOS breaks+direction changes. He also uses the environment extremely well to induce auto-aims.
Now find someone who is playing at native resolution instead of cheating.
-
just run decisive.
If you get tunnelled then ds works. if you work on a gen and get found how is that the killers fault?
-
Run her for as long as you can and hope your team is actually doing something.
You should never be uncatchable.

@CLAUDETTEINABUSH said:
Dead hard is strong, but doesn't really need a nerf
Certain killers can tap their power to bait deadhard (like wraith). If you don't have that luxury, you need to get a bit closer than usual and they'll probably dead hard. If they don't it's a free hit. Don't swing immediately tho, wait it out for a couple of seconds.
Why does the killer need to bait it when it isn't used to miss a hit?
THE PERK IS USED TO GET AN EXTRA LAP IN A LOOP OR TO MAKE A WINDOW THAT WAS TO FAR AWAY NO MATTER WHAT THE KILLER DOES BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO SAY IN THE MATTER OR EVEN COME INTO PLAY
Please read it.

@Yords said:
What do you guys think that dead hard could be reworked to do, but still be useful?
The devs mentioned that they were reworking it a while back, but we still have no news on it. The only thing I can think of how it works is if it changes to do with protection hits.
I think they are trying to make it work guaranteed?
Something about the complaints about being exhausted on the ground due to latency so the devs want to make sure that situation doesn't happen.
RIP anyone who doesn't have 60+ ping

Yeah me too, DH can be baited, can be countered with Exhaustion addons, cant be used against insta-downs, its pretty much useless outside of very especific loops and timings but 4 people with Sprint burst using it with brains can prolong chases by a LOT (by brains Im not talking about those who wait until you are close and sprint so you swing at the air, Im talking about the ones who actually manage to disengage you before you even get to chase them by running and going LoS in a maze).
Why are you using it out in the open?
Exhaustion addons are being removed from the game
Insta downs are rare
-
having the opposite problem. But then again i only have 20 ping so i guess that is why.

@Kaiju said:

Except the DS nerf will make it even easier to tunnel, and survivor can't do anything to help the team. That's a major change (killer buff).
You are not being tunnelled if you feel safe to work on a gen though.

I didn't play this game for a long time and I was reading how solo surv q is terrible. I played with cross play for some time and switched it off. In both cases my games are instant. Im on ps4 btw.
Am I in minority or there is some kind of desinformation flowing around?
Anyone else having similar experience?
Survivors are all playing killer for the tome and for easy rank 1 achievement because the devs screwed up latency / hitboxes.
Many are also taking a break because of animation changes and hud changes.
This is why survivor q is instant.
-
They had to disable most of the maps because they never test anything before release.

I just got Bubba the other day and I’ve been playing with him and his chainsaw isn’t downing survivors? It only takes one health state? And it seems to be extra slow and doesn’t last long at all? Am I the only one experiencing this? I don’t see anyone talking about this anywhere.
You need to use addons.
-
@darktrix said:
Bond can be a force for good or evil...it can also protect you. Embrace the Bond and use it...you will never have other survivors lead chases to you anymore as you will see it coming.
And no I haven't experienced that...99% of the randos I come across aren't out to get me. What the hell are you doing?
I would do this is the other survivor is just creeping around the edge of the map or camping the hatch instead of doing the last gen while i run the killer.
-
It isn't hitboxes. it is latency.
A streamer showed killer vs survivor pov and the killer looked normal while the survivor was nowhere near them.
I guess they are testing something.
-
@TheClownIsKing said:
The Hillbilly changes were absolutely necessary. Unlimited freedom of use of his chainsaw over and over and over again was just unbearable to deal with.
It wouldn’t matter if he missed. He could just keep coming and coming. It wasn’t balanced in the slightest.
Imagine if Spirit, Blight, Oni, Nurse just freely kept immediately using their power after just coming out it?
his animations make him annoying/frustrating to play because you physically have to fight his camera sway after using the chainsaw or you look at the sky.
his field of view has been severely nerfed by pushing the camera forward more then it was. you use to be able to see the mallet head and handle while walking. now you can only see the top of the mallet. this made a large blindspot in front of him.
they have a hard 90 degree cap on the chainsaw when you start sprinting and it has a cap on how sharp the turn is. I use to be able to 360 on the top of the hill before falling into the normal sprint.
all his good addons are gone and nothing alters charge times or stun times or anything
the new addons got nerfed after ptb and the only good one was made really really rare to get.
he now screams at the survivors to let them know he has started the saw sprint (gota hand hold the rank 20's and make it brain dead for veterans am i right?) This becomes obnoxious to listen to all the time and ruins any fun for the killer player (survivor is all that matters correct?)
the animations and head bobbing are sickening
I never see him any more, i wonder why?
- they have added invisible anti billy walls on almost every ramp or high point in the game
- they have added over head obstacles that only billy can run into with his saw for no reason.
-
When they nerf something they make sure it is dead so they don't need to revisit it.... if it is a killer thing. survivors get multiple revision / side grades
-
i lowered my rank to 12 and got all killer adepts.
The lower your rank the less is required for adept.
-
I have destroyed it every time while doing my rift challenges.
-
it isn't just weird for survivors. I have never seen killers whiff so many hits before so clearly there is an issue on their end to.
I was playing nurse and some games my attack seemed normal while others my lunge was super slow and just followed survivors at the same speed.

Ok, thought so. Like I said, never heard it before.
Personally, I do not care about Stretched Resolution because of two things:
First, it is impossible to prove, unless they are a Streamer.
And second, I expect that it will take a very, very, very long time until the Devs do something about it. I mean, you even get an advantage when playing on low settings. And because this is part of the game, I cannot really imagine that something against Stretched Resolution will happen at any point in the near future.
The problem is the devs themselves acknowledged that it is basically cheating.
Low detail is not cheating plus you can't see as far on low detail sincre it makes the fog thicker
for survivors, ultra makes the killer glow brighter and longer, and it is short and faded on low detail.

First time I hear that. Got a source for that one?
Seems i misheard what they said.. they said the ui is independent of screen resolution.
getting tired of survivors being able to see me when they shouldn't :'{
Also really really bad when nurses use it.
-
@oxygen said:
That has nothing to do with the UI/HUD and everything to do with how the game handles non-standard aspect ratios. Both the more square ones people use for stretched and the ones found on ultra wide monitors, both look and behave weird with how the game currently works.
Considering they said in the recent Q&A that ultrawide support isn't something they're working on at the moment I wouldn't expect it to be changed any time soon. As that would involve some sort of attempt to make the game have a more consistent look or at least make it stretch in a more normal way (more horizontally as opposed to vertically) on "non standard" aspect ratios, which would probably include improvements to ratios significantly bigger and smaller than the more standard 16:9 and 16:10 ones.
They said they were going to fix it with this update when they announced the ui change.
