  • Played a solo match on cow shed and it was a group of gen jockies who didn't save unless forced to or the gen was completed.

We got out in 6 minutes and nobody got above 20k points lol

If survivors want out then they can get out, the only thing that prevents this is the emblem system forcing interaction if they want to pip.

That is literally what it was designed to do. Hide the rotten core of the game.

  • Because it is so basic, yet addictive.

The community is not that great, but that is caused by the Devs.

The Devs are terrible when it comes to communication and decision making.

  • if someone does this to me i stand there till they go second phase or someone else walks up.

Sounds like u all got a bit too comfortable with Killer being free wins for 2 weeks while Survivors had to deal with desync and awkward/clunky movement during that time. So much that you all can't even handle the slightest bit of challenge now (actually, challenge is an overstatement even) which is simply paying a little bit attention when you're about to swing and being patient.

How this became such a hot topic now is beyond me, the counterplay to it is laughably easy. They're not even reliable in a chase and are used as a last resort and generally just because it's fun to attempt, even if it gets you killed mostly. Same with moonwalking. It's all just fun stuff and there's no reason to take it away and if you genuinely have trouble in chase against any of these i don't know what to tell you except get better at the game, really.

The movement before this patch was such a hindrance and mostly got you killed at loops. If it's a super unsafe loop on top of it, good luck.

BHVR made a great decision listening to their veteran players this time. It's nice to see that movement feels great again.

it may be worthless against normal killers but nurse gets screwed over by it hard.

  • It is soooo fun having my totem broadcast to the other 3 survivors when seen by one guy.

It is soooooooo fun not having a power as trapper because everyone is broadcasting trap locations and telling them when to disarm them so they can use the jungle gym or shack...

it is sooooo fun when everyone knows exactly what gen to do and what % every gen is at when randoms don't.

I can't have fun against swf.. sorry. It is the most boring experience in the game because you as a killer don't matter. you may as well replace them with a bot.

"Make DS base kit for survivors" Making DS base kit is just another band-aid fix to tunneling. Just look at where we are now.

The whole reason DS even exists and does what it does is because of tunneling. Due to how the game worked back then (and still now for the most part), killers had to tunnel to gain the upper hand on the survivor team because it was the only way they could manage; it was a band-aid fix for tunneling but tunneling was seen as very unfun for survivors. Because the devs have for so long ignored the core issue of tunneling being so effective, it has become a huge problem that will need a substantial amount of work to redesign and balance.

With the upcoming DS nerf, you can bet that survivors will drop it out of their kits and replace it with BT (most likely if they already didn't have that) as a replacement. I think that this will obviously encourage killers to tunnel which is effective and not exactly unfair, but it will definitely make the game more unfun for survivors. The devs will HAVE to do something about this or the player base will decrease by a large margin.

I swear, a patch full of health changes to the game would help so much. And no, the few handful of balance changes we get every 3-6 months do not count. I mean a patch where the devs work really hard on to fix bugs that have been around for a long time (the silent survivor bug and nurse in general), buff killers that need them, and maybe even rework Haddonfield (seriously, I hate this map with a passion). Several other people have said the same thing I am saying several times. I swear this game is like a malnourished stray dog. It could be so cute and cuddly, but just needs love and care.

Then bring DS as it is the solution to tunnelling.

I really don't see the point of what you are trying to say.

You are not being tunnelled if you are happily sitting on a generator are you?

Any Billy main prior to his nerf. Anyone thinking Nurse and Billy are worthless are people who just want wins given to them. Billy now requires a bit more skill other than the brainless rev spam that came before. Just like Nurse now relies more on skill than brianless blink spam as before.

Spamming without negative side effect is bad killer design, which is why Tinkerer got nerfed, and why Freddy needs a nerf with his traps, and why Deathslinger needs a nerf after aiming. I mean, unless you want the standard survivor play to be genrushing.

Can survivors get a cool down on m1 spam? they press it so often and carelessly that it deserves at minimum a 20 second cooldown between presses.

We need to make survivors think about when they should let go of a gen so only the most skilled survivors can rank up.

  • How about gens can't be repaired untill they collect a part on the other side of the map that is highlighted and then it goes at normal speed?

This protects early game, makes the survivors move around and doesn't increase holding M1.

Who am I kidding, it's to simple and easy to implement.

  • They completed their goal and made him fun for survivors.

It doesn't matter if he if fun for killer though.

his animations are getting fixed soon confirmed by one of the devs

    what about the roar?

  • They are not being forced by the players to release updates, but by their investors.

  • find an old yt video of a billy game and compare the position of the sledge hammer.

Old billy could see the head and handle of the hammer. New billy can only see the top of the hammer. they shoved the camera forward and reduced the fov.

  • Billy is dead to me.

I have full legacy on him and they MURDERED HIM.

They pushed his camera forward to create a massive blind spot in front of him.

    they reduced his fov.

    they added janky movement.

they nerfed his radius at the start of the chainsaw sprint to a 90 degree cap, where as you could 360 with the sprint before the nerf.

they gave him a stupid roar that grates on my nerves to help rank 20 survivors without thinking about the good players.

They removed all good addons and destroyed his diversity.

they nerfed his nerfed addons and made the only good one iridescent so you never have it.

It wasn't just the overheat mechanic that nerfed him. They did way more and made it unpleasant to play him.

I also think they made him slower, but that could just be the reduced fov.

  • just play killer.

I lost 2 pips today from the same killer closing the game during the load screen.

  • this happened to me twice today. It was the same killer so i assume they are doing it on purpose.

He predicted your shot through a wall and acted accordingly, just the same way you predicted his movement and acted accordingly. Thing is, he had a perk to save himself ONCE during a chase from that situation, and that would have worked only if he predicted your actions. If you had, let’s say, that Demo useless perk to prevent him from using DH would he come to the forum and call it BS and single player logic?

I’m not even defending DH or the OP, I just don’t see your logic in that statement. Your opponent used a perk to counterplay your actions, which couldn’t have done if he had less game sense, reflexes etc. I don’t see anything “not competitive” in that.

Honestly if I have to give my opinion about all of this, the problem isn’t Dead Hard. It’s gens and how coordination can end a game so fast. Always has been. You wouldn’t worry about losing 30 seconds because of a DH if the trial lasted more than 4 minutes.

BHVR have already shown that they refuse to increase gen times and are nerfing any killer perk that does. What does this leave us with?

we had an early game staller with ruin/undying and they essentially removed that from the game. "Everyone" loves scott junds idea of gen parts because they light up like a neon sign and halve the repair speed of a generator for a single survivor. Zero thought, zero prek requirements, and a faster game to allow survivors to toy with the killer for bp or just escape like a depip squad.

  • nope.

do survivors really think that being found on a gen next to the hook the came off 30 seconds later is actually being tunnelled?

Do survivors really think that the killer has a set goal in their mind to search for them and only them when they randomly bump into them on a different part of the map?

  • I had a game where the first 3 minutes had 3 survivors down and one survivor up cycling slugs. the moment they all managed to res each other 3 gens popped within 10 seconds of each other. There is no wy they had time to do gens while all this was going on.

  • I have one question. Do you leave as soon as you can or 99% the door and try save?

I have had so many games go from a 1k to a 4k because survivors refuse to leave until everyone is out or the person put on the hook last dies.

Escaping is not tied to pips so survivors don't feel the need to survive.

Kills are tied to pips so the killer MUST KILL to rank up.

    See the difference?

  • Depends on your location (survivor pool) and rank.

Where i live the survivors are mostly 4 man sweat squads and it is like night and day when i go from swf to solo players.

It also depends on the killer you play. I want to play trapper but every game i get a survivor who follows me around and disarms my traps. No i am not putting them under pallets in the open, but there are only so many useful places you can place them and survivors know them all.

  • @CriticalWeasel said:

Now survivors can actually use the "Don't Tunnel" excuse when it does happen.

    correct.

  • @IronWill said:

They are gutting this perk so hard, they should just make it basekit at this point. Not worth wasting a perk slot on it anymore after the nerf.

then don't and see what happens.

  • i understand when survivors leave after a long chase and no gens get done. Especially when they get put on the hook, all they see is 3 survivors crouching nearby thirsting for unhook points.

  • @Grandpa_Crack_Pipe said:

    And so the pendulum swings.

    only until they fix hitboxes.

All these survivor mains running vpn's and trying to get the r1 achievement.

  • They are actively nerfing perks that increase gen time so this will NEVER happen.

  • Been playing more survivor since the q time is finally decent XD

If you knew anything about tru3 you know he loves chases and mind gaming he also thinks DH is a very good perk and you don't see him complaining. Also he got the 4k with a good amount of hooks which he even mentioned at the end of that video, but oh he slugged killers aren't allowed to do that. Granted tru3 does have exceptional skill but that just goes to show you if you get good enough you'll be alright a majority of the time. Sometimes you will lose but that's just part of it.

Knew you would bring up the 4k.

The game was over with a 2k but survivors didn't just leave like they should have.

I have had many games that turn from a 1k to a 4k because survivors have no reason to leave thanks to pips not being tied to escapes while killers pip IS tied to kills.

  • They say it is for new systems that they want to implement but refuse to tell us what they are for some reason.

This usually means it will be bad so my prediction of a paid stamina meter may come true.

All this hate and anger would have been avoided if they just show us a demonstration of what they are planning. I guess bhrv like the hate?

Survivors have no say when it comes to killers using perks i don't get the point your trying to make but if its about DH distance you get more distance out of any other exhaustion perk.

not on demand or without setup.

the other exhaustion perks don't save survivors from going down after the killer manages to outplay them and make them stuff up.

  • @Jokersmile said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1959289#Comment_1959289

DH is the easiest exhaustion perk to play around once you know a survivor has it it can no longer be used to dodge an M1 i'd say sprint burst is the most annoying if a survivor knows how to use SB theres no chasing them when its up you just have to let them go most of the time

why are you bringing up the killer? They have no say when it comes to using this perk since the problem is the distance.

  • @arslaN said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1959517#Comment_1959517

That's not always the case. Many killers such as Nurse have way more control over chases and they are very fun to go against. Killers can be both powerful and fun, it's just BHVR's incompetence at designing both fun to go against and fun to play as killers.

Nurse is also horrible and stressful to play as. (aka not fun)

How many nurse players do you see vs other killers?

I have tried to just hook and run with her but she is so slow at traversing the map and survivors with E to outplay are all 3 hit downs that the only way to play her against good survivors is slugging.

Even otz was stressed out while trying to get 50 wins as nurse and couldn't.

  • Look at who their investors are and you will know why this game is turning into a mobile game

soon we will have a stamina meter that requires auric cells to keep playing.

Ironically neither Deathslinger nor Pyramid Head even have full control over chases.

Pyramid Head's power gets nullified by elevations (stairs, buildings, loops like the harvester), bugged pallets that stop the shockwave [happened to me at rotten fields. Shockwave couldn't go through shack pallet], perks that grant free distance like Sprint Burst, Balanced Landing, Lithe and Dead Hard which allows you to ignore a perfectly predicted shot through the wall and make distance while Pyramid Head has to stand there doing nothing for 2.25 seconds.

Deathslinger's power gets shut down by breaking line of sight (which I admit is map dependant), dropping pallets when injured and the same perks.

The only killers that give a damn about anything you throw at them is Nurse and (to almost the same degree) Spirit.

I know they don't. The problem is they have a sliver of control vs normal m1 killers.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1959298#Comment_1959298

Ok and what does this have to do with anything I said just now? Changing the topic is basically saying that I'm right.

survivors find the killer having control boring while the killer finds survivors having control boring.

  • @Marigoria said:

Which perk do you think we should complain next?

When I play killer, I find sprint burst quite annoying, can that be next?

Perks shouldn't give you advantages, they should all work like no mither. While we're talking about no mither, can we please remove the part where a survivor can get up from the ground? Kind of OP to have an infinite uses unbreakable.

hmm, undying, noed, ruin, enduring, stbf;, nurses, spies, franklins, pop, thana, killer powers, come to mind when i read posts like this.

  • @arslaN said:

Your point makes no sense. There is no "different playstyle" against deathslinger unless you count stealth but you could say that against any killer in the game. If you are going against a good deathslinger, there is nothing you can do besides dropping pallets instantly which is a super boring play style and doesn't require any skill to pull off.

As for pyramid head, dodging his attacks is fun but the problem is that, his ability doesn't have any punishment for cancelling it (no, they did not change this like they said they were going to. you can still instantly M1 after cancelling) so his gameplay has a lot of just, drop pallet and get hit by his power or don't drop pallet and then get hit by his M1 attack anyway. There is nothing you can do in these situations and it feels super cheap.

But all the evil entitled survivors just want to have easy matches right?

Did you ever think that survivors playstyle may be SUPER MEGA BORING to the killer?

  • They want killers to be their toy but anti loop killers have some control so they hate them.

That is literally it. summed up and can be used for any and all arguments against it.

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

Also how they buffed the first attempts to escape the traps... I don't feel much difference, people still escape from traps so easy.

i just had 2 survivors escape first try..

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

If you have a problem with Dead Hard then I’m going to assume you have a problem with all other exhaustion perks. As they all give you distance.

Like, what’s the difference between making the loop longer vs using Lithe when you could have downed them because there was no longer a pallet there but now they’ve gone to another loop with another pallet.

    lithe- requires setup and effort

Sprint burst forces you to walk or lose it and not have it when needed (unless cheating ofc)

dead hard- on demand distance when you want it combined with i frames.

    there is a huge difference.

  • how many gens were left? how many got done during that survivors chase? were you on a gen or derping in a corner?

Nothing more infuriating then running the killer for 1 minute + only to see no gens done and everyone crowded around thirsting for unhook points.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    Why?

I mean I can come up with a thousand change ideas for things that don't need it, if you can't create a good argument for why, then your changes are useless by default.

Dead Hard is fine as it is right now.

Nothing more fun then outplaying a survivor just to watch them press E to outplay the outplay before you can even do anything about it.

No one would use the perk anymore, thats what would happen. How about buffing usless perks insead of asking for yet more nerfs. The DS and OoO nerfs aen't even life yet and here are the killer mains already crying for the next survivor perk nerf...

I don't know if it's crossplay specific - I've raised the issue with the team though about how long people are waiting for a match right now.

Come on, tell us what you are doing to the backend of the game XD

    Is it mmr?

  • but then you have no reason to spend $$$$$$$

at least that is the logic they are using... In reality more would pay for the track because they get more from it.

  • No

30 second gens for walking to a highlighted object while the killer is distracted is terrible.

We will go from 5 minute games to 2 minute games since you can only be on one place at a time.

No they aren't. DC penalties was created to help tunnelling camping killers out. Killers complained that survivors was DCing and messing up their camping and tunnelling fun. After all... It's all about the killers having fun right?

What about the 3 other survivors that you ditch?

  • Just watched OTZ attempt 50 "wins" with nurse and he only made it to 9. You could tell he was stressed out, and even he was getting dodgy miss hits and blinks that go nowhere.

  • They have been bullied on loopable killers and are now dead inside.

  • They will close this.

If you didn't abuse the bug, you should still NEVER send footage of yourself demonstrating the bug because bhvr does this...
