Full hex build after 1 minute.

Oh wow this is old. Who uses the search function on the forums?

Close game? Look at the survivors points in those screenshots. In at least 2 out of those 3 its pretty obvious he tunneled the one with the fewest games out of the game asap.
oh.. well i have been 12 hooking at least XD
Need to see what its like on killers other than nurse.

So 4k = fun?
It isn't the 4k, it's having a close game with more than 5 hooks while your plays actually pay off instead of being called out ahead of time.
-
You will eventually run into your old buddy, seal team 6 if you keep winning.
-
Looks like the killer playerbase is fed up with weak killers and are turning to nurse. Can't think of any other reason for the sudden rise in Nurse threads.
-
The same.. Either the distance or the i frames will negate her hit so you still have 3 lives.

In the old system I was in red rank after 3 weeks as newbie survivor....
Yeah, the lower you were the easier it was to pip.

sink your MMR
i'm sorry... but i'm not motivated to play more games when the ones i'm having are guaranteed to not be fun no matter what i do in them.
MMR has made this game worse for me, very proactively. as a casual player, i would like to go back to how it was before.
The old rank system was bad because bhvr made it bad on purpose.
Rank reset essentially got removed, They widened the search parameters so green players went up against red, they didn't remove the safety pip and they made it easier to pip the lower rank you were. All this to make players feel good instead of doing the opposite so they were correctly matched.
It won't happen because once they do something they refuse to admit they were wrong, (COH) but i would love it if they did a test with the old rank system with everything i mentioned changed.

it has nothing to do with platform. its server and lag issues.
Old gen console are slow, they load slow, have stuttering same as old PC with 10 year old i7 and 8 year old GPU. I guess when PC or console stutters it produces some kind of packet loss or whatever and you see such things as getting random sprint burst.
streamer was on pc but had high ping.
What is with the insane defence of console on here? Say anything bad about it and people just hyper focus that and forget the rest of the thread. Every time something weird happens it seems to be against a console user. Ping is usually a factor but not always, this is why i feel there is some funny business going on with the servers and how it handles it.
Turning off cross play is not an option and the button is there as a scape goat for people to say "just turn it off"

Movement because framerate? The game feels the same on both platforms. "movement framerate" is like flat earth conspiracy theory.
Console is the same PC but with different OS, even hardware is PC ish, the same direct x on xbox.
It feels the same for you, but the server messes things up. Just like the streamer getting random sprint bursts. On their vod they were running normally, but on my screen they would suddenly zoom away as the server tried to sync their position.

Huh.. must have been a different video where i saw movement was tied to frame rate. That's why the cheatsy blight flick worked until they patched it.
still. lag = weird movement.

Oh, well if you have the option and your blaming console for terrible pinged players, then why not turn it off and have a higher probability of playing similar ping people?
Nice joke.
-
@Stroggz said:
What have console to do with ping? I play on xbox and PC and i have 45-55 ping on both. 90% players I face are lower than 70 ping. Rare occasion that I face someone around 100+ ping.
Even with good ping, consoles act weird when it comes to validation. Back when they released pallet validation console users couldn't be touched, even if they had decent ping. They also seem to be the ones that mess with aim dressing (auto aim) and drag my killer into corners or window frames.
They also move weird. In one of Coconutrts's videos they were trying to figure out if someone was cheating. The survivor looked like they did two dead hards in a row, but it turned out to just be janky console movement caused by their framerate? That's what he said anyway.
I have been getting high pingers quite often in the last month for some reason. It's just really starting to get on my nerves, with dodgy things happening so often now.
-
Love the focus on the console part that even OTZ mentioned in one of his videos but ignoring the shield lagy survivors get that you are forced to play against because they hide pings to avoid dodging.
-
@Hi_Im_Chucky said:
I thought we could turn off crossplay? Or is that feature only for console to avoid PC cheaters?
It isn't limited to console. These problems just seem to show up more often against console players.

20 ping.

I think people had hopes they would try something different with the way mmr is calculated instead of fiddling with some numbers.
-
Sad thing is, MMR should allow you to balance for high level and it does all the Fairness work for you.
High level vs high level and barely sentient spuds vs barely sentient spuds.

I feel people are getting confused with what I'm saying, I'm not saying use the current grade system as is but go back to tracking the whole match while editing the parts which made the system fail
I know. They also need to make getting a pip hard across all ranks instead of making it easier the lower you are.
-
@EntitySpawn said:

People can manipulate any system so I dont think that's a fair argument.
But my point was grades track everything you do, if we removed the reset, allowed you to loose grade again, removed the safety pip people should naturally fall into a bracket based on what they do instead of kills/escapes
This.
-
They didn't even show the kill rates from test 2 after admitting they dropped.
-
Grade system is better, they just needed to make getting a pip actually hard and not make it easier the lower you are.
-
It changes nothing.
Matches will still be awful for anyone outside of mid tier and they are still using the most basic of basic to determine mmr where nothing you do matters no matter the outcome if you die and encourages bad gameplay from both sides.
Pump gens and avoid the killer on the survivor side.
Get kills no matter what on the killer side. (camp, tunnel, play nurse.)
-
Should make the killer walk to the centre of the map and pray to the entity before they can hook a survivor. We all know survivors need more chances, and this would give other survivors a chance to pick them up off the ground and save them a health state.

If BT becomes basekit those endgame saves are gonna be performable by just about anyone, as long as you're an M1 killer.
The zombies are quite annoying to deal with... as Nemesis, and that's a lot of the reason I don't play him much. They can get stuck multiple times in the same corner, so you have to kill them to reset them multiple times, and I've had that scenario play out in multiple matches. I don't think the devs ever commented on the blatant changing of the zombie AI from the ptb, because those were clearly superior.
Survivor players didn't like being bested by AI so they made them dumb as rocks.

I cannot tell u how it works, but it exists for sure.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2899626#Comment_2899626
Yeah, that is very unlikely. I mean god survivors will have perfect timing here and there. But not 3-4 times in a row. But when inexperienced survivors who don't play very well time every dead hard perfectly, then something is seriously wrong.
Btw Im not talking about DH for distance. I mean that DH when you are in close contact with the survivor, try to bait unsuccessfully, then try to make a short attack and the survivor activates DH the moment you press M1. That's really annoying.
Thing is you would never know this survivor was cheating if you didn't use nurse who can repeatedly test it.

So all a killer player needs to do is become a professional level player in order to play as 75% of the killer roster?
Well that sounds easy enough, brb, I'm gonna go do that.
No.. because then that professional player goes up against professional survivors and loses with 1 hook. Majority of the roster is dead when equally skilled players verse each other.
Just because a streamer plays trapper and does well against questionable survivors while just sitting in the basement, doesn't mean trapper is viable.
-
Survivors working hard to get nurse and blight nerfed i see. Even in my games people just dc as soon as i blink or down them.
Lets hope the devs don't cave in and prove that disconnecting will get any killer nerfed into oblivion.
As usual, the question of why people are playing these two will never be asked and the cause will never be addressed. But the result will be swiftly nerfed.
-
This was me today. Played 1.5 games and just quit to play something else.
I am over gen speed and SWF. I also can't play survivor because i refuse to sit there for 6-10 minutes between games.
-
Don't worry. Survivors are hard at work boosting her kill stats by disconnecting every game against her. They already know it will work after the dev's proved it with Deathslinger and pinhead. Mediocre killers that got nerfed in the name of "fun"
-
Scourge hooks nerf themselves by spawning in the corners of the map or all being on one side.
-
No. Survivors deserve to eat nurse and blight 9/10 games if they are good.

Who said you can never down them? If you can never down a survivor that’s an issue with you, not the game.
I can already see this is pointless.

I really hope they figure something out. They kept saying Boons were a second objective....but its like...Totems were already in the game as something that Survivors could always mess with....so... Boons were just a different method of Survivors "messing with Totems".... I just can't agree with that Boons are a secondary objective BS.... If they're another objective for anyone, its the Killer.... And the Killer really didn't need ANOTHER objective........... :/
The dev's saw the reaction to pinheads cube as a second objective. I doubt they will ever put something into the game that doesn't grant some huge bonus to survivors for doing it over a gen in fear of the backlash.

The one boon that's a problem actually was disabled at launch, and it was the best window of the game we've ever had.
It'll be effectively disabled again once the nerf hits live, not because it's actually bad but because it'll require more thought to use well, so people will flock to something easier.
Didn't know placing COH in a corner or top of iron works required thought.
-
She has 3 birds but only one can really be used in a chase with a tiny window to hit.
She has a wind up to place a crow, a cool down to use the crow, a slow down for placing a crow and a slow down for using the crow.
She is tall making mindgames harder or impossible.
noisy and clunky.
-
My killer games are back to 3-4 man swf (confirmed) and the boredom that comes with it.
People sharing every little detail and plan with each other just kills the game.

Stridor nerf reverted. The imbalance is now on the killer's side when someone has iron will; survivors can hear her but she can't hear them.
Yeah, but with this community it is perfectly reasonable for the guess work and 50/50's to be on the killer. Survivors must have pin point information and slow movements or wind ups to always have a chance to avoid being hit regardless of the killers skill.
Not against the spirit nerf, but they kind of overdid it as usual plus the iron will buff essentially deleting stridor from the game.

And they're also easier to defend because typically there is one survivor down or on hook, one being chased, and one going for a save or heal leaving only one to do the gens, not two. Not to mention if one of the survivors is dead by the time the survivors are on the last gen. As well as there often being less ground for the killer to cover to defend the gens at that point, especially if they've managed to build toward a 3-4 gen ending.
What point is there defending gens if you can never chase a survivor and down them? you will always lose the attrition war assuming the survivors are not awful.
-
@dugman said:
In the first chase, 99% of the time, 2-3 gens can pop. Now let's assume that 1 chase led to 1 hook:
That's at worst 2/6 (counting opening the gates) to at best 3/6 (1/3 to 1/2) of the Survivor's objective done.
It's, AT BEST, 1/4 of the Killer's objective done. At absolute 'hook everyone once' BEST, the Killer JUST BARELY keeps up with a Survivor's AT WORST scenario.
Gens are not equal, the first two gens are not the same in terms of escaping as the last two gens. Saying "The survivors are over 1/2 way out!" after 2-3 gens are done completely ignores the fact that the last two gens are MUCH easier to defend as the killer than the first two gens. In fact typically about half the match or more takes place when 1-2 gens are left to do, and most 3-4 kill matches end with only one or no gens left.
On top of which, the game is intentionally designed so that, if all the players are playing equally well, the most common results are supposed to be 1-3 kills, meaning someone typically dies and someone typically escape most matches. So expecting the doors to be closed in half your matches is an unreasonable expectation under that design goal - the doors are supposed to open most of the time assuming the survivors played well.
The last two gens usually take less time if you ever commit to a chase thanks to the time reduction from 80-47 seconds with 2 survivors.
-
wow........... Hello target audience. Please stop by the shop and buy another survivor cosmetic.
-
The effort needed by you to get a cheater banned in astronomical compared to other games.
YOU need to take 10-20 minutes+ out of your time to record, upload and fill out a form with your details, links and the offenders details.
The EPIC launch gave people a chance to make hundreds to thousands of free accounts because someone thought that was a good idea or got paid a hefty sum of money to do it. This makes the time you take getting someone banned essentially pointless as they can just hop on one of their free accounts and keep going like nothing even happened.

That's an easily adjusted number for the devs though. We know what the softcap was at release because it was leaked. We don't know where the softcap is now. Could very well be the same. Or they could adjust it upward over time, "crunch" everyone's MMR and leave it, etc.
one of the forum mods revealed it got changed to 2000 but that was a while ago. Could be anywhere now.

So... You know how these "facts" become facts?
It only needs to take one person to say it, and others copy the information, and suddenly you have 20 people saying that's how it works.
There is no way to see your MMR, so tell me how people are supposed to know that they are high MMR? There was one info-graph with an EXAMPLE of how it is calculated, but no real information (to my knowledge). There could have been something released, maybe by data miners, but I always will be critical about such information without proof.
There are ways to see it.. just not within the games rules.

When did we start using data ta mark balance. If that’s the case then pinhead is the best killer in the game
They thought object was balanced and even said so in a stream.. The only reason they changed it was because they got massive backlash afterwards.
-
Whatever they did after they finished the tests is awful. Killing clueless survivors is boring and i hope they fix it
All they had to do was tighten the range and make getting a pip more strict with the old rank match making. It became an issue because they made getting a pip below red rank easier and they had +- 9 ranks you could play against.
-
Blinking directly at a survivor running around a box will block you and leave you stuck. Hate how a survivor's hitbox will block your blink and it seems more sensitive after the fixes.
