Yeah it happened to me 3 times today. Gotta love exploits.

It's gonna get changed, don't worry. It's just a matter of time.
Definitely. I just hope they don't announce they're doing it weeks before it happens. Last thing we need is everyone trying to use up all their moris and making the game unplayable for 2 weeks.

KYF should be the only iteration of SWF there is otherwise you get cancer like this.
Remove SWF, keep KYF and the only people crying are the people who do this toxic crap.
How to kill the game in 1 easy step:
-
Dude If I had a dollar for every perk that removes the "skill factor" from something I'd be able to rebuy the game twice. Unrelenting could get buffed to 50% and it still wouldn't be good.

Killer mains continue to complain about everything lol
Yeah how dare people get upset about blatant cheating.

Some people have to stroke their egos and fragile self esteems someway. If anyone actually says that to you in a videogame then they're not even worth acknowledging.

For the, say, 3.5 years of playing this game I've never some to the conclusion if SB is really affecting the game that much. Say I have it on Legion, in theory that would be a great perk on him, but what is the actual difference it makes and would you use it?
While I'm not a fan of Sloppy for the same reason Dr.Deepwound said, Dying Light is very good on Legion. You get progressing slowdown and with the obsession having faster heal speed, they're more confident to heal which works well with Legion. My build is Dying Light, Surge, Pop, And BBQ for BP and I win about 9/10 games.
As for its effect, It depends on how the survivors play it. Its a good slowdown, but depending on what killer it is, they might just not heal because its not worth and just push gens. Michael, for example, If you run Sloppy and another slowdown perk, they might just say "whatever, he can instadown whenever he wants so its not worth to spend so much time healing". I believe its good for killers who can easily get the first hit, like Wraith or Ghostface since they dont want to risk getting popped up on and getting downed immediately.
My answer: yes, its good on most killers since people cant stay one hit forever, but on some killers like Legion and Michael, it would be just be a wasted perk slot.

So you found a way to turn the tables on them (last second switch) and make your games easier... Yet You complain? This Community... Keep last second switching and punish those who use that "app" and make your games more chill.
Sounds to me like the kind of swf nerf everyone was asking for...
Or maybe this exploit shouldn't exist in the first place? Even if 6 second swapping can throw them off, you shouldn't even need to do that.

If slugging is a "necessary tactic", so is its "counterplay" unbreakable.
A "1 minute you can't touch me window" for ONE survivor out of 4. Just go after one of the other 3 survivors and if you get DS'd in exit gate, just take your loss like a big boy. Other than that I see no reason why the one minute is such a huge deal.
It feels like your killer mains want ez 4k's every single match, it's mind boggling.
I don't see any posts of (solo) survivors in here complaining about how many times they die instead of escaping and therefor asking for killer nerfs.
Really bad take. If someone gets unhooked and then runs to a gen or to unhook someone with DS and Unbreakable(smol pp build), thus giving them both DS and Unbreakable, there's literally nothing you can do to prevent them from progressing the game. Sure there's 3 other survivors, but if 30 seconds later I see you off a hook and on a gen while injured, you should not be completely protected from getting "tunneled".
https://youtu.be/g2UKAqmJSH4 this video is a perfect 40 second example for how stupid DS can be.

To be fair, with perks like infectious freight, BBQ, whispers, nurses calling, I'm all Ears, all exists, I wouldn't be complaining about OoO.
Those perks are nowhere near the level of OoO.
-
I'm actually surprised OoO has lasted this long without being reworked. I've seen killers just flat out DC whenever they see the aura during the spinning animation because certain killers get destroyed by it.
-
@Leachy_Jr said:
How tf have you gone from "I want billy nerfed whether it's the last thing I do" to "Dead hard needs looking at and OoO needs to go".
Anyway back to topic yeah OoO needs to go, especially due to the amount of problems it causes on midwich and its power in SWF.
You can be concerned about things from both sides. Dead Hard definitely need to be looked at considering how brain dead it is and how it just fixes your mistakes when you mess up a loop. I genuinely feel worse at the game whenever I use it. OoO is self explanatory.
-
Yeah survivors are usually way more toxic and entitled than killers. When I play survivor I usually have to defend the killer in chat when survivors just get angry at the killer for existing.

You’re so annoying, forcing your opinion on everyone. It’s in the toy sections and children’s book sections & little kids act all giddy about FNaF. That’s enough for people to think it’s childish.
FNAF isn’t scary. Some people find it childish. Just respect it instead of refusing to accept differing opinions and acting so rude about it.
Bro you get heated so fast, you did the same exact thing on my thread lol. "Forcing your opinion on everyone" "FNAF isn't scary" pick one dude. FNAF HAS morbid lore behind it, that's not an opinion, that's a fact. A rotting corpse of a children serial killer who tortured his victims and stuffed them into robot suits and would've done so for much longer if he didn't get himself killed is pretty morbid.
-
Its not bad. I like it a lot on Michael and Legion, I just think it shouldn't have a cool down because of how restrictive it is.
-
Yeah dude, how dare he be worried about getting banned. Unbelievable.

Thanks for your opinion, but if streamers/forum posters can sit all day theorycrafting perks and crap changes they think the game needs, it is totally fine for players to dream up a new Battle Arena game mode.

Theorizing perks that they could add and people suggesting a game mode that would hurt the game in the long run are two completely different things.

I can't speak for him and tell you what he meant, I can only say he said what he said.
As for what it is besides anti-tunnel. DS in its current form in an ant-tunnel, anti-snowball, anti-momentum, punish the killer for doing well, abused, easy save, easy gen progress, time waster, free health state, easy escape at endgame, offensive defensive perk with no counter play where the killer doesn't take a loss in some form (especially with the small pp build of DS Unbreakable). Just off the top of my head.
Exactly. They dont want to acknowledge as just an anti tunnel perk because they'll have to explain every usage of what you just mentioned, even though they designed it as such.
-
@MrPenguin said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1425320#Comment_1425320
idk what you're talking about but he said it was not purely anti-tunnel, but yes it is an anti-tunnel perk.
Then what is it besides an anti tunnel perk? What did he mean by that if not trying to cover their backs by trying to write off that it is purely an anti tunnel perk?
-
I don't mind them too much, but its just annoying when I'm playing survivor and I feel like I'm not actually outplaying the killer with skill and instead with perks, vice versa with killer when I get outplayed by perks and not skill. I play both sides equally but this is how I'd balance the perks mentioned and my reasons why:
Unbreakable: "The recovery rate is -25% but can still pick yourself up once per trail." The fact that this perks not only robs the killer of momentum and destroys the suggested "counterplay" of DS, but the fact you can recover faster as well? Just 1 well timed Unbreakable can literally be the cause of a Killer losing the game. There should be a cost for having such a powerful effect and the much slower recovery speed would be plenty.
BT: "Once you start an altruistic action, the endurance from the perk deactivates." The fact that someone with endurance can run to a hooked person and there's nothing the killer can do to either person is pretty silly because both people will have that "anti tunneling perk" ready to go(ill be going over this in a bit).
DS: "If you touch a gen, heal someone, get healed to full health, jump into a locker, or start unhooking someone else, the perk will deactivate. However if DS is used, the perk CAN reactivate." Nothing much to say here, I'm just making it an ACTUAL anti tunnel perk. Removing all the abusive utility it has warrants a second use I believe.
OoO: "Only the obsession can see the killers aura." Its hard to balance this perk due to how fundamentally broken it is, but that would be a start.
Dead Hard: "After using the perk, you get 4 seconds of "winded" and cant drop pallets or vault windows." This is the survivors version of NOED with how hand holdy it is. Mess up a loop? Just press E. Got too greedy? Just press E. Want to make it to a pallet you wouldn't normally make it to? Just press E. Dropping this perk made me so much better at looping and honestly I've never looked back.
-
OoO
Moris
Keys
Dead Hard is a very close 4th
-
"NOED is banned because its crutch perk because it rewards bad play it gives the killer an unfair way to fix their mistake. Huh? Why am I using Dead Hard? Those are not similar in any way!!" Definitely my favorite one.
-
@RaSavage42 said:
Honestly I wouldn't even call any perk a "second chance"... just hear me out
Adrenaline: End Game Perk, activates once a match... (old insta-heals are second chance)
Dead Hard: The condition of being injured means you have already gotten hit (or pairing No Mither)... so half the chase is done
DS: Have to hooked in the first place and it's a one time use (so using it after your first hook is only a delay)
Unbreakable: If it's used before your first hook then maybe it's a "second chance" but if not then no
Also in saying those are "second chance" perks then:
Self care: got hit... run to the other side of the map and heal yourself for free
Inner Strength: same as Self Care but go into a locker for 8 seconds... but cleanse a totom before
Deliverance: Free hook escape (also pairs well with DS)... but getting hooked again means struggle stage
Flip-Flop: not being picked up till you've recovered makes it easier to wiggle off (Pairs well with Unbreakable, Tenacity and Boil-Over)
Any more "second chance" perks.... I know there's more
You're looking at most of them from a wrong angle. Second chance perks are perks that reward you for accomplishing nothing or have no skillful prerequisite.
Dead Hard: Injured? You can press a button to make it to a pallet you wouldn't normally make it, fix your mistake if you mess up a loop, or make it to the pallet if a killer successfully mind games you.
Adrenaline: this one is weird. I don't see it as a second chase or crutch perk, but I understand why someone would believe it.
DS: Love this bombshell. Its definitely a necessary evil since it helps with tunneling(Its an anti tunnel perk, Peanits just knows that if they acknowledge it as one then they'll have to acknowledge the abuse of it). This perk for the most part is used as a "you cant pick me up for 60 seconds. Oh you wanna slug like the forums say to do? I got unbreakable. Get outplayed." So its essentially a crutch perk. It should just deactivate when you touch a gen, heal someone, or start unhooking someone else, then I wouldn't even consider it second chance or crutch.
Unbreakable: This perk is straight up second chance. By itself it isnt too bad, but mixed with DS and there's no counter play at all. The only way to really fix this perk would be fixing DS as shown above so they cant just work on a gen in your face until they go down, get back up, then continue working on it with no fear from the killer.
Those other perks are not second chase at all and are not related to the top half.

Lol alright goodnight. I’m still waiting for someone to give me a reason as to why he should not be in the game other than the fanbase and the jumpscares and not to the actual character itself
You most likely wont. I've debunked almost every argument about why it wouldn't fit and people will just hang on to their opinions, which is fine, but there's really nothing concrete that would say FNAF wouldn't fit in DBD.
-
I can't believe this bait worked. "Billie" is a touchy subject I guess.
-
The only way to get more charges from downing someone is an Iri add on, and theres way more annoying iri add ons for this to be a problem. The counter play is the same as Legion: just scatter and rob him from snowballing with his power.
-
Thinking PTB Bubba is worse is just straight up false. You dont have to be breathing down someones neck to kill them with the saw and you can actually hit multiple people if you have good add ons.
-
The map is pretty 50/50. The killer has to commit quite a bit to breaking doors or going up to the saloon. I definitely think there are many other maps that need to be looked at before Saloon, like Haddonfield or Asylum.

Why killer mains are such crybabies just get gut and stop tunneling lol
DS has too much utility and currently isn't an anti tunnel perk, as confirmed by Peanits. Its a " I can do a gen with complete safety for 60 seconds and if you come near ill hop in a locker, but if you get me before I run into a locker, Ill just get up with unbreakable and out skill you.". You should lose DS if you touch a gen, heal someone, or get into a locker.

Big oof. There is already kids on this game as is. This game requires less skill than Fortnite. You should stop while you're behind your ignorance is showing.
Ninja played this game for a solid week and none of his viewers were interested in the game. Also you're confusing difficulty with game knowledge. DBD you have to learn all 20 killers and how to interact with their power, learn over 130 perks, learn all the maps, learn how to run every loop optimally, know when to drop chases or go for saves, handle the extremely toxic fan base, AND dump the money into the game when they have Fortnite which is free and much more appealing to someone of their age. This game may have some kids, but its not kid friendly in any way.
-
I really doubt that many killers will run Franklins. Killer perk slots are extremely valuable and most killers already dodge lobbies with keys in them or just bring a mori.
I like the change because whenever people complain about keys, the counter was always "just bring franklins lmao" even though everyone knew it was hot garbage.

I'm good, but it's frustrating seeing the same damn thing come up multiple times.
Ok, we get it, you don't actually understand the point behind most iconic horror franchise, let me help
Halloween: fear of evil is unexplained, the purpose behind the person who may decide to kill you is no more than they may have just been born that way. It practices one of the main tenants of horror - the unexplainable
TCM: the fear of traveling through the unknown. This also must be placed against the proper context of it's time to make sense- rural, open America, a little abandoned road somewhere in big ol Texas, if you've never lived their or any huge state, or ever went on a road trip past route 66, it won't mean as much to you. Also, Leather face is based on a real serial killer : Ed Gein.
Scream: Ok, I almost give you this one. Although it is important to remember 2 things here,
1. Scream was originally a tribute and love letter to the slasher genre, without its success continuing the love of slasher films, DBD may not even exist today.
2. Technically, Screams not even in the game. Just the costume which cannot be copyright claimed.
Now, let's discuss for the 15th time why that's a bad and disingenuous construct of an argument. For one, you know you're talking about icons in horror. I reiterate, there wouldn't be a dead by daylight without the properties you chose to name.
Next, we have to deal with the fact that FnaF is MOSTLY fanfic. You trying to deflect with rule 34 Silent Hill nonsense from trolls on this specific forum is NOTHING compared to the legions and legions of devoted craftsman who all want to have hands and a say in how the story works.... and make Bonnie and Chicka porn.
By the first game, there wasn't even really a story.... As in, you were in a room, a guy said you have to watch animatronics that get "crazy at night" and jumpscares. That is the original lore, without embellishment, without retarding the storyline to benefit a false narrative I'm trying to force.
Come on man, don't try to bring down other properties in order to normalize this deviant art. It is what it is, there's something for everyone, but it doesn't have to be accepted by everyone and it doesn't have to join dbd.
Again, this is my opinion, I just feel strongly about it.
You've brought up some good points, definitely had to think for a bit. However the underlying themes of the movies wasn't news to me, I understand they each represent their own version of horror, however the stories they're trying to tell arnt much better than however you see FNAF because it actually has good lore and the amount of theories isn't a bad thing at all, it just shows a thriving community. Its just the wrong genre to bring up the "lore bad" argument.
I actually have deep respect for Scream because their take on the horror genre and how they innovated it. It was similar to the others in a good way but also had their own take. However like the others, its just a simple story, similar to FNAF at its lowest.
Claiming the Silent Hill rule 34 is only from trolls is a big stretch considering that there's a whole sub dedicated to NSFW DBD stuff. Sure, there's weird stuff in the FNAF fandom, but thats in almost EVERY fandom because the internet will be the internet.
Of course in the first game it was simple, but obviously as more games released, the lore got deeper and gave a narrative as to why things were happening the way they did.
I'm glad you feel strongly about this and I'm glad you took the time to say all this, but people attacked FNAF fans for suggesting him for no reason so I was only targeting those people.

Now you’re just acting like a typical fanboy who can’t take criticism and needs to defend their fandom to death. For the forums, yes, there ARE a lot of posts for it. But there’s no need to insult the other horror franchises to defend your own. I get you want FNaF, but at least respect that other people may not want it, rather than fighting it constantly.
Dang I touched a nerve. I have been respectful of others opinions and have been civil. There are NOT a lot of posts for it. Im on these forums a lot because of queue times and I see 10 posts about DS for every FNAF post I see.
My "insulting" of other franchises only comes from defending people attacking FNAF, because like you said, they should respects other people views. Saying that "FNAF has no lore" when being to compared to other horror franchises is just silly considering most of them are really straight forward(which isnt a bad thing). The "fighting it constantly" comment doesn't really make sense either since in my post I said I wanted to talk about it and I'm just here...talking about it.
My goal isn't to offend so I apologize if you thought that was my intent.

Here's a great reason not to include FnAF - Half the story is made up by the audience. They decide what's Cannon, the creator made a lazy cash grab idea of a horror game and kids who never read a Stephen king book in there life or even know who TF Dean Koontz is deemed it to be best cuisine art cringe pasta.
Said audience demands their silly property be placed in a horror game because their desire to ######### Chicka is only supersede by their desire to ruin the concept of horror for everyone by forcing their weird, deviant sex art onto a disinterested and unwitting audience.
Even if half the story is made up, the story has more depth than TCM(teens in my house? chainsaw go brrrr), Halloween(I like to stab. Thats it), and Scream(Your mom slept with my dad and now I want to kill you). Also I wouldn't use the Stephen King books as the bar for "horror lore" considering a lot of it is just shock horror IMO.
There's a lot of pent up aggression in this second part, you good dude? Anyways, like I posted in the OP, this is the community that had Silent Hill rule 34 only two hours after the chapter got announced. This is also the same community that has a naked fetish for Michael, Clown, and an ass fetish for Pyramid Head.

DbD is a love letter to classic horror icons, the only newer licenses we have gotten was Bill from LFD who canonically made sense for the game and is a part of a cult classic game from 2008 and Stranger Things which was also a love letter to classic slashers, FNAF's main audience is children, something DbD's devs and community is very against, regardless of your opinion on the subject a Springtrap chapter is something only FNAF fans would appreciate, and not something that your average horror fan is going to look at highly, people are gonna be disappointed by it's announcement (because let's be honest having FNAF in the game before Alien, IT, Jason ETC, is just a kick in the nuts.) and it most likely wouldn't sell well compared to other bigger horror licenses. Whether the game is even considered horror is up for debate but I won't get into that now, but it just doesn't fit the theme that DbD has always stood for, it's a game of appreciation for the originals. People saw Silent Hill and went nuts because they figured this meant that any video game could make it into DbD despite the fact that we've had Bill from LFD2 for the better part of 3 years, Silent Hill made sense and fit so well because it's one of the original horror games that kicked off horror in gaming so it made sense. I personally am not a fan of IT, I think the original movie is pretty good and hope to god that if it's added it is in it's original form, but even if it was added as the modern adaptation I wouldn't be mad because it MAKES SENSE, it's a franchise that got it's roots in a cult classic film that has a very strong following. This is the point where I stop because I'm tired of ranting, I've played the games I think they're interesting and the lore is engaging but it's not something meant for DbD in mine and many others opinion.
Lot to unpack here. Its really difficult to dismiss Springtrap because of the "classic slasher" theme, considering L4D and Stranger Things exists(also being a love letter to slashers is a bit of a stretch). But the one thing all these characters have in common is "horror", which whether is the popular opinion or not, FNAF falls under. The argument that the games are made for kids is pretty solid, Id even say it were true for the newer games, but the game Springtrap is from is definitely a horror game and the lore behind him is better than some that are already in the game. But not only lore, Springtrap would be more terrifying than a lot of the killers in the game.
Im not arguing he should be in the next chapter, or the one after that, I'm just debunking the arguments I've seen the most that dont make any sense. I really want Alien over anything right now, but Id love to see Springtrap in year 5 or 6. But I agree im not a fan of IT or Silent Hill.
But I really appreciate the rant, it was a good read.

I kinda disagree about FNAF being included. The points you raised are all valid opinion, but baiscally FNAF has a really cartoon like aesthetic which just doesn't fit well in DBD.
Yes there is bunny feng, but its a jumper not really a comedic costume. The new legion skins are an easter egg SH purchase basically that I have personally never seen once in game yet. I'm not overly impressed by them so I probably wouldn't get them but if you like em great go buy em. It's a minor addon not a whole DLC.
The FNAF cartoony theme I have never found scary. If you are bound by license to recreate a character then you have to kind of stay within the confines of how they look. (Speculation here but I'm sure that's part of why the silent hill skins are all one set, correct me if I'm wrong).
Yes the lore is very dark but its more than just that. Look at the theme/atmosphere/art style of DBD and ask yourself how well does FNAF really fit into it outside of the dark back story.
I respect your opinion, however thats why people bring up Springtrap instead of Freddy or anyone else in the series. Springtrap legitimately looks scary, probably scarier than most of the killers in the game. Take away the FNAF name to him for a sec, and you have a tall robot with withered and worn parts that are covering a rotting and decaying body, you can even see the ripped up flesh underneath his limbs and face. BHVR would design their own version of him, and Im sure they would make him look very fitting for the horror genre of the game.
-
Yeah I know, but I just wanted to throw that out there in case people brought up "bruh, he only killed like a handful of kids".
